Sam tells Ivy, Gwen, and Ethan that he feels happy that they went to see the movie because it made him feel like they are a family again. "We should do this again," he adds. Gwen and Ivy both loved the movie because it was romantic. Gwen is happy because she loves Sam despite all the obstacles, such as Julian. Ethan talks about true love, and Gwen is worried that his true love is Theresa. He tells her that if two people are meant for each other, nothing can stop them from being together.
Whitney is having second thoughts now that she knows Fox loves her. She feels weird about the situation she is in. The guys go to check up on the table. Whitney is uncomfortable, but she's happy that Fox doesn't know that she has learned of his feelings. She is also relieved that Chad doesn't know, because Fox is his best friend. Theresa tells her to act natural. Chad and Fox return and tell them that their table is ready. Whitney looks at Fox with anger because Theresa knows their secret. Fox puts his head down and then looks up as if he's shy. He and Whitney lock eyes.
Eve's Living Room
Liz tells Irma that T.C. will enjoy the information she's going to give him. Irma calls Eve a slut and a tramp. Eve looks very nervous. T.C. calls to her, and Liz gloats that when T.C. hears the truth she will be in the gutter where she belongs.
Ivy kisses Sam. Gwen is happy to see the change in Ivy. She tells Ethan that Ivy is glowing. She asks Ethan if he knew that his mom was so unhappy with Julian when he was growing up. He says, "Not when I was little." He says he saw that there was
tension, but he didn't know why. He recognized their hatred for one another when he was older. Gwen and Ethan both agree that Ivy is finally happy after being miserable for a long time. Gwen says that she can't imagine living in a loveless marriage and longing every day to be with a man who wasn't your husband. Ethan tells her that Julian never hid the fact that he had other women on the side. She says he was a horrible husband and father. He agrees, telling her that Julian never took any interest in them. She tells Ethan that she will never forget how mean Julian was when he found out that Fox wasn't his son, but Sam's. Ethan tells Gwen that it was hurtful,
because he loved Julian like a father through thick and thin. She puts her hand on his shoulder and tries to comfort him. He tells her that Julian has changed and now regrets how he treated Ivy. She tells him that at least Ivy is happy and united with the man she loves. He repeats that if two people are meant for each other,
then nothing can keep them apart. She looks at him, confused, saying that is the second time he has talked about true love. He tells her that it's real, and that it can draw two people back together. She looks at him questioningly and asks if he was talking about them getting back together, or about him and Theresa getting back together.
Chad asks Theresa if she is okay and unhurt. She tells him that she's fine. Chad helps Theresa to the table as Fox escorts Whitney. The waiter welcomes Fox and says that it's a nice surprise that he's here. He tells Fox and Whitney that it's nice to see a couple so in love. Chad looks very confused, while Fox, Whitney, and Theresa look nervous.
Eve's Living Room
T.C. calls to Eve and tells her he has some great wine. Liz gloats that it will soon be over when he meets his actual wife: not the upstanding phony pretending to be a pillar of society, but the real Eve. She looks back at Liz, hurt and about to cry.
Eve goes into the kitchen. T.C. asks her if she heard him. She says yes, and tells him that she didn't answer because she was walking to the kitchen. He puts the bottle of wine in the refrigerator to cool, mentions plans to go to the beach, and begins to head out of the kitchen. Eve asks him where he's going. He tells her that he's going to the living room to dance until the wine cools. She asks him to forget about the wine and just go straight to the beach. He tells her no; the wine he bought is her favorite, and he'll make the snacks and then join her in the living room. He tells her to put some music on. She looks defeated.
Eve's Living Room
Liz sits by the curtain. She gets up as she sees Eve walk out of the kitchen. Liz heard everything, and smiles cryptically at Eve. She tells her, "Nice try, but the truth about your past is going to come out, and you're going straight to hell."
The waiter tells the group that there's an aura around two people when they're in love. Chad tells the waiter that he got the couples wrong; Chad and Whitney love each other, and Fox is just their friend. The waiter seems a little skeptical but says he's sorry. He shows them to their table. The men both hold out chairs for
their mates. Whitney smiles at Fox and stares at him while she puts her napkin on her lap. Theresa looks confused and wonders if Whitney has feelings for Fox.
Eve's Living Room
Liz says that Eve's going down tonight, and she can't wait for Irma to tell T.C. about Eve's past. Irma starts dissing Eve again. Eve asks Irma to stop, but she tells Eve that she's old and can say whatever she wants. Liz encourages Irma. Eve asks her why she thinks T.C. would believe her and not just think she was senile. Suddenly Irma tells Liz that she's had enough and wants to go to Mohegan Sun to play poker. Liz looks a little worried; she tells Irma to be patient, and soon she'll see some fireworks. Irma is happy because she wants to get away from Eve. She waits for it to be over. Julian comes to the house and sees through the window that Irma is there. Liz tells Irma that she's waiting for Eve's husband to come. Irma asks where he is and tells Liz that she doesn't have a lot of time and would rather not waste it at Eve's. Liz tells her to tell T.C. everything about Eve. Liz says that she's wicked and doesn't deserve this; she deserves hell. Liz tells Irma that she should tell T.C. everything so that he doesn't waste any more time with Ev e. Julian puts his ear to the door to try to hear what's going on. He realizes that this was the bad thing that he was told would happen. He thinks that this will destroy Eve's life and marriage. Liz opens a drawer and asks Irma to deal her a hand so that they can play poker. This livens Irma up. Liz tells Eve that it won't be long until she can kiss her life good-bye. Julian watches this and looks at her nervously.
Gwen and Ethan sit on the bench to talk. Ethan tells her that he loves her and that she's his wife. She brings him back to her question, and he assures her that he married her, made a commitment to her, and made sacred vows of marriage to her. He tells her that he can't imagine why she would doubt him. She asks, "Do you love me?" He says yes, and tells her he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. He touches her hair, and they kiss. He asks her where she's coming from. She says she's sorry; she doesn't want to be one of those women who need a lot of assurance and always have to ask if the husband loves them, but they have been through so much. Also, the movie was about a man falling in love with his old flame. Ethat tells her that he loves only her. He tries to quiet her down. She looks worried and reminds him that Theresa is carrying his baby, and she thinks that something will happen to take him away from her.
Chad, Theresa, Fox, and Whitney toast to them being friends. Chad reminds them of the time they went to L.A. when they were spending time with Fox. He reminds them of the pool and the views. Whitney looks nervous. Chad wants to remind her of the good times. Fox agrees and remembers the time when he and Whitney were in the pool in their bathing suits. They were touching each other and smiling, and then they danced in their bathing suits outside the pool. Whitney looks away. Chad reminds him that he sometimes asks him to look in on Whitney to see if she's bored, and he had to do that
again. He says that he was shocked when he saw them in bed together. She tells Chad that nothing happened. Chad wants to toast Fox for being such a good friend. Fox tells Chad that he doesn't owe him anything. Chad tells him that he's a good guy and would never make moves on the woman he loves. He tells him that his friends tell him to not leave Whitney alone with Fox so much because he's a Crane. Theresa looks at him. Whitney thinks back to when they kissed and he had on a Santa suit and glasses. They both look very sadly and longingly at each other.
Eve's Living Room
Eve tells Liz that her life is not going to be any better if Eve's life is ruined. Liz says that her life will be "ducky." Liz tells Eve that she thought she could get away with it and have her wonderful life and her sainted career without her past ever catching up with her. Eve asks Liz to think about her children and how their lives would be destroyed. Liz says that she's sorry and that she likes the girls, but she can't worry about them. She tells Eve that that she has to pay for the pain that she caused Liz, and she has to learn that there are consequences to her actions. Eve tells her that she never meant to hurt her. Liz tells her she says that every time. When her father raped her she thought of Eve, and if she could have been there or taken Eve with her then none of this would have happened. Eve tells her that she's sorry, but it wasn't her fault. Liz says it was her fault; Eve abandoned her to be a whore and a drug addict. Irma sides with Liz and tells Eve that she's a wicked whore. Julian, still outside, can't believe it. Liz says that she can't wait for T.C. anymore and she's going to get him in there. Irma starts to dis Eve again. Julian tries to think about how to stop it.
Ethan touches Gwen's hair and tells her that nothing will take him away from her. She tells him to stop making promises he can't keep, because it happened before with Theresa. Gwen says that she's always around and that she doesn't trust Theresa. He tells her that he may be able to make her trust him because he can control his emotions now. Gwen looks at him skeptically. She reminds him of
California and how he was ready to be with Theresa when she threw herself at him. He argues that he behaved badly and will make it up to her. He tells her, "Theresa was my past, but you are my present." Ethan looks at Gwen lovingly. He tells her that he loves her and that she's the only one for him. Ivy watches their whole conversation from in front of Ethan. The couple doesn't see her. Ivy is unsure about whether or not Ethan loves Theresa. She goes over to Sam,
who has bought them drinks from the sundae stand. She tells Sam to talk to Ethan about Theresa.
Chad says that he hopes that it will always be the four of them taking vacations together and having fun times. Whitney and Theresa say that they were friends when they were little and can't think of their lives without one another. Fox's cell phone rings, and he gets up to go to the window so that he can talk. Theresa thinks about the time when she and Fox danced. She goes outside, saying she needs some fresh air. Chad asks Whitney what's up with her and Fox, and comments on how they're sitting so far away from each other. She thinks back to when Theresa told her that Fox was happy when they broke up, because then he could be with Whitney. She tells Chad that she doesn't know if she should say. Chad says it's weird, because when they were driving up here Theresa was so happy to be getting back with Fox. He looks confused, and thinks that maybe Fox is still hurt that she broke up with him. Whitney asks him if that's what he thinks is the cause of it. He tells her that he wants to help them get back together by talking to Theresa. He says he wants to find out what happened. She tells him, very forcefully and loudly, not to pry. She looks extremely agitated.
Eve's Living Room
Julian wonders what he can do that won't make things worse. He looks very nervous. Liz walks to the curtain but gets pulled back by Eve. Liz grits her teeth. Eve holds on to her arm, telling her that she's going to stop it. Liz says she can't stop it. Eve says she's tired of this blackmail. Liz asks her what she's going to do now that Irma's here and isn't going anywhere. She struggles to get free of Eve's grip. Eve asks her what she thinks might happen if she said that Liz was lying and Irma wasn't all there. Liz says that it won't matter once T.C. hears that the man he hates was once Eve's lover. Liz asks
her how many times she thinks T.C. will fall for her excuses. She wonders how many times he's going to find Eve in Julian's arms and believe that she was just thanking him for donating a wing to the hospital, or that she had something in her eye. Liz tells Eve he isn't going to fall for it anymore, and that there's nothing Eve can say to convince T.C. that Liz is lying and Irma's crazy. Eve then tells Liz that there is a way to stop her.
Sam asks if anyone would like ice cream. He impresses Ivy by telling her what flavor she likes and how she likes it. Ivy's amazed that he still remembers things from when they first fell in love. They kiss each other and say that that was when they kissed, watched fireworks, and sat under the stars. Gwen and Ethan feel nervous seeing them kiss and talk about their love life. Sam tells Ethan that he should go with him and leave the women to agonize over the calorie count. Gwen asks Ethan to let her have a bite, and then the men leave. Gwen tells Ivy that she's so happy for her. Ivy reminds her that Gwen has loved Ethan since they were teenagers. Gwen tells her that she has never loved anyone else, and she is married to the man of her dreams. Ivy asks if she could be any happier. Gwen says, "Well..." and starts to tell her about her problem. Gwen tells Ivy that she's worried that Ethan loves Theresa. She says Ethan married her when she was pregnant and that fact eats away at her every day. Ivy tells her not to let it worry her, because Ethan stayed with her even though she lost the baby. Gwen tells her that he's a good guy and wouldn't abandon her after she lost Sarah, but she thinks that he may still have feelings for Theresa. Gwen says she hopes that she's wrong.
Chad asks Whitney why he can't ask Theresa any questions. Whitney reminds him that she told him not to interfere or get involved in the relationship. Chad tells her that that was because she thought it wouldn't help them, and in fact they got back together by themselves. Fox comes back to the table and apologizes. He says that he was waiting for his family's approval to buy this place. Theresa comes back. Chad pulls out the chair for her and asks Fox if he will dance with Whitney so that he can talk to Theresa. Fox says sure, his face lighting up. Whitney looks worried. Theresa nods toward the dance floor, telling her to go.
Eve's Living Room
Liz asks Eve what she's going to do to stop her. Eve says that she'll go into the kitchen first and tell T.C. what Irma is going to say. Liz asks, "Then what? You'll deny it?" Eve says no; she plans to tell him everything about her past and why it happened. Liz looks genuinely shocked. Julian says, "You can't tell him!" Liz starts to laugh and can't stop herself. She wonders what T.C. is going to say and if Eve thinks he'll forgive her and tell her that it's okay that she deceived him. Eve thinks that he'll understand because he loves her. Liz speaks through laughter and tears and says that he's not that understanding. Eve says, "We'll see," and goes into the kitchen with a sad face. Liz tells the audience that Eve's life is over no matter how T.C. learns the truth.
At the Park
Ivy says she understands that Gwen's worried about Theresa, and says that she feels she's to blame because she gave Theresa the job. Ivy loved Pilar, and she never thought that she would use her position to get at Ethan. Gwen says that she trusted her and that she let her design her wedding gown. Ivy says that Theresa told her she was going into fashion as a career, but, in fact, she was really trying to marry Ethan. Ivy says again that she's sorry for bringing her into the Crane mansion in the first place. Gwen says that she was stalking him and would have found another way to get to him. Ivy tells her that it's over, and that Ethan is committed to her. Ivy tells her that Theresa's over Ethan and after her other son. Gwen asks her if Fox is really fooled by her. Ivy hopes that he can see Theresa for what she really is: a gold digger. She says that she just wants any Crane that she can bamboozle into loving her. Ivy tells Gwen that she thinks that Theresa is over Ethan.
The Sundae Stand
Sam says he's pleased that Ethan and Gwen are so happy. Ethan tells him that they are happy and they have a child, but he is sad that they won't have a big family. This is the only child they will have. His father has heard that Theresa has their child, and asks if it's hard for them. Ethan says it's caused some rough spots. Sam reminds him that she impregnated herself through selfish and dishonest means. Ethan tells him that she was desperate because he and Gwen adopted her child, and she thought she could convince them to give him back if she did this. Ethan sighs and says that he wishes Gwen could do the same. Sam says that she was a great mother and should never have had little Ethan taken away from her. Ethan says that he's happy that she's taking good care of herself. Sam tells him that it must be awkward having her so involved. Ethan says it is, and Sam asks if things are really over between him and Theresa. He tells Sam that he made some mistakes and wants to make up for them. He's happy that Gwen is giving him a second chance. He says that he loves Gwen and that nothing will come between them again. Ethan says that he's committed and hopes that he can convince Gwen that he loves her and that it is over with Theresa. Sam asks him if he really is over Theresa.
Whitney tells Chad that Fox hasn't gotten a chance to order and would rather sit there. Chad tells her that Fox said it was okay. He asks Fox again if it's okay, and Fox says it's fine and holds out his hand to Whitney. Theresa asks Chad what he wants. Chad asks her if she has talked to Fox about their relationship. She says no, and he asks her what happened. He reminds her that on the way there all she talked about was about getting back with Fox. Theresa silently imagines Fox shouting at God for making Whitney love Chad and not him. When there's no answer, Chad asks again. She can't think of what to say; she tries to talk but keeps stopping and correcting herself until she finally says she doesn't know. She looks nervous and holds her hand to her neck. Chad turns around and sees Whitney and Fox dancing close together. He says it's obvious, and he knows why Theresa didn't ask Fox. Theresa is speechless.
Irma asks where T.C. is. Liz asks her to tell him the details and to flesh out the story, because Eve is going to give him the PG-13 version. Liz wants him to hear the truth with every X-rated detail. She tells Irma to be patient; T.C. has a bad temper, and soon fireworks are going to come out of the kitchen. Liz smiles, telling the audience with confidence that, in one minute, all Hell will break lose.
T.C. is making a snack when Eve comes in. He asks her what it is. She has a grave face and tells him that it's important. He gets nervous and, putting down the plate, asks her again what the trouble is.
