At the police station, Brody asks John why he is giving him so many case load responsibilities yet is not communicating with him about what is expected of him on the job. John does not answer. Brody tells John he knows that John merely wants to punish him for what he and Natalie did. Why else would he vouch for Marty to get out of St. Anne’s? John tells Brody he does not believe that Marty is a threat to anyone anymore and can’t be punished forever just because she made a mistake. But Brody tells him that she tried to kidnap baby Liam and as far as he’s concerned, Llanview is not safe with that woman on the loose.

Starr is at the hospital on her cell phone talking to someone about picking up Hope. She is first panicking hearing that her daughter is not where she is supposed to be. But then, out of nowhere, her toddler daughter appears. She hugs her little one and is happy to see her. But then she notices that Marty is with her. Marty tells Starr that she came and got her granddaughter. Noticing that, Starr is surprised to learn that Marty is out of St. Anne’s.

John tells Brody that he vouched for Brody to get out of St. Anne’s early when Brody really lost it and children were not safe around him. He helped him to become a cop and looked out for him. So why shouldn’t Marty have the same opportunity for redemption that he (Brody) had? He then tells Brody that he better finish his work and have the files on John’s desk by the following morning. And this discussion is over. He leaves and closes the door behind him.

Natalie holds baby Liam admitting to her infant son that she can’t tell him how many nights she prayed that John would be his daddy. But quite honestly, she cannot say she feels that way anymore.

When John is in his office, Téa appears and asks why he has not made an arrest in the shooting of Todd. He tells her that he does not have what he needs in order to make an arrest. She asks John if he does not have a suspect.

Dani goes to visit her uncle Tomás and asks if he is hungry. He invites her into his new place and tells her he wants to show her some things he has in an envelope that look like photos.

Charlie tells Viki that he knows he has no excuse for what he did. But when he found out that Rex was not his son, it was like losing Jared all over again. He could feel the floor coming out from under him.

Shane goes to the rooftop of the high school and stairs down at the ground from the ledge a long distance below him.

In Todd’s hospital room, Blair tells Jack that this is serious. How could he find amusement in taking Shane’s inhaler? He has asthma and could die without it. Hearing that, Jack tells his mom although that may be the case, Shane is not dead. Is he? He smirks and makes light of it.

Rex and Gigi appear on the roof to see their son leaning over the ledge appearing like he is ready to jump. Gigi screams at her son urging him not to do it. He tells them they need to stop and asks why they are there. He does not want them there. Rex tells his son they got his note and won’t let him do that. Shane tells his parents he knows what he is doing. Rex then tells his son that he now knows what is happening, Jack Manning and his nasty little friends have been torturing Shane. But, he tells his son, it will come to an end. Shane asks how he can end it. Rex tells him if he can’t face those kids again, he can transfer to another school. But Shane tells his dad it’s not that simple. It’s online. It wont’ solve anything. He tells them that “this” is the only way while he leans over the ledge looking ready to jump and end his life.

At the hospital when Jack smirks telling his mom that Shane is “not dead”, Blair asks her son why he thinks this is funny. What has caused him to go after someone who has never done anything to him? She tells him Shane is a sweet boy. He tells his mom that Shane is a dweeb and that she needs to know there are two types of people in the world; winners and losers. And Shane is a loser. Hearing that, Blair tells her son she is horrified to hear him sounding just like his father.

Marty tells Starr that she has missed baby Hope and is wiling to help Starr with her if she ever needs a babysitter. She tells Starr she knows Starr is busy with her new boyfriend and seems courteous. Starr admits to Marty that she has had some things going on regarding her dad getting shot. Hearing that, Marty concludes she heard and remarks that Todd has a lot of enemies.

At the station, after Téa demands that John tells her what they have been doing regarding finding Todd’s shooter, he asks her just how much she knows about her brother Tomás and she admits she has not seen her brother in many years nor knows very much about him.

Tomás tells Dani he wants to show her some of his drawings and photographs and hobbies he was into as a kid. She seems interested and receptive. But he hesitates while she wonders what he is hiding in that envelope.

Natalie and Brody are together at Viki’s taking care of baby Liam together. He admits that John is giving him a hard time at the job and they “got into it” about Marty. She asks if they discussed Marty's being back out on the street. She tells Brody if it makes him feel any better, she and John “had it out” too. She then remembers going to John’s home and his telling her they are done and she needs to get out.

Charlie admits to Viki that he almost took a drink after he departed after hearing the devastating news from Clint. He went to Rodi’s and ordered a drink. But he put it down, walked out and started driving. And somehow he wound up in Echo’s motel room. He’s not entirely sure how it happened. It may have been because she’s Rex’s mother and he needed the connection. He then suggests to her maybe it’s because Clint had made fools of both of them. He admits he does not know. All he knows is that he came there. She reminds him that was weeks ago and it’s clearly still going on.

At the station, John asks Téa if she knows about the picture of Todd and Blair that her brother so coincidentally found at a flea market in Paris. IN response to that, she asks John what he is thinking. That Tomás had some sort of “vendetta” about Todd? Yes, Tomás looked up Todd online and found some undesirable things about him and they had an argument. . She tells John he must realize that her brother is a musician and painter and not a murderer.

Dani talks to her uncle Tomás about her dad and how she’s “evolved” from hating him at first to developing a relationship with him. She heard about Todd’s really shady history and was very suspicious as first but now believes that people can change. Tomás asks her if she really believes that Todd has changed.

At the hospital, near Todd’s bed, Blair tries to get through to her son. She reflects that maybe she has gotten too wrapped up in work and has not seen what has happened to him. Not long ago, he was a cute, funny little kid. She’d notice people saying that Jack is acting out and a real player and everyone thought he was so cute. If only she had known. Hearing that, he tells his mom she should not make this into “such a big deal”. Hearing that, she yells that this is a big deal. He’s not just a little child being bratty. He’s now almost a grown man and has become a bully. He needs to take responsibility for this. She tells him this garbage has got to stop before it goes too far.

Shane is standing on the high school rooftop ledge when his parents try to reach him. They tell him they know what the bullies posted on MyFace. They protest that they had no clue what happened to him and want him to come home with them. They are so sorry not to have seen the signs and realized what has been going on all this while. Gigi tells her son they can now fix it. They can stop it. He asks how. By going and reporting it? That will only make things worse and make him appear like a big baby who needs his parents to protect him. Rex then asks his son what he believes can stop it. Shane replies he only knows of one way out. He already tried to be nice to people but nobody cares. Then he tried ignoring the harassment but that didn’t work either. Nobody cares. Maybe if he jumps and splatters on the pavement, then people will care. Hearing that, his parents stare at him speechless and horrified.

At the hospital, Marty talks to Starr about getting through her program at St. Anne’s. She admits to Starr that she is getting some professional help and dealing with loss. Hearing that, Starr reflects to her she knows that she (Marty) has had to deal with more than most. Marty then admits that she had to realize that Liam is John and Natalie’s baby and not hers’. Hearing that, Starr clarifies she must mean that he’s Natalie’s and Brody’s.

Brody asks Natalie if she wants to talk about what happened between herself and John,. She tells him not really but would like to know what he told Marty when she left him alone to talk to her. He tells her he made it very clear to Marty if she ever came near Natalie or Liam, she would have to answer to him. Natalie asks how Marty took that. Brody then remembers Marty telling him that he’s “such a good father” and “very devoted to Natalie and Liam”. Brody then replies that what Marty said was nothing worth repeating.

John asks Téa if she knows where Tomás has been for the last 10 years. She admits he’s been traveling, painting or playing music and she’s not really certain. She asks if he’s doing a thorough background check on Tomás and assuming he’s a murderer just because he had an argument with Todd. He then tells her that they found a Euro coin right at the crime scene. She tells him that that is the official currency in Paris and not that uncommon. He tells her maybe not and admits that Natalie is working with him on that.

Charlie tells Viki it’s his fault. He was going to tell her all about it. But when he got home, he heard that Jessica was gone, Tess had taken over. Both John and Natalie were missing. He didn’t feel as though he could do that to her. She then concludes that he came to Echo and asks why he always does that when he’s in trouble. He turns to the bottle or to Dorian or to Echo or to anyone but her. He admits it’s true that he does not turn to her although he should. She cries and asks if he does not trust her.

Jack protests to his mom that he and his friends are not criminals for what they did to Shane online. And he knows that when his dad wakes up, he will tell his mom to back off. He’d understand. Hearing that, Blair tells her son he’s right that Todd would understand what it’s like to be the leader of a gang who attacks people who cannot defend themselves because Todd and friends gang raped Marty Saybrooke years ago. In response to that, Jack tells his mom he questions whether that really happened and bets Marty asked for it. At that point, Blair hauls off and smacks her son.

Gigi and Rex tell Shane he must know that they love him. And he has many friends and he can tell them anything. He tells them they cannot help him. Rex tells him they can and will and even if they can’t, they will find somebody who can help him. But right then it appears Shane slips and Gigi screams.

Blair tells her son she is scared to death for him. Jack tells his mom he is “fine”. She tells him no. He is not fine. He is not getting something very important here. She then tells him he needs to know that Marty Saybrooke did to ask to be raped. Shane Morasco did not ask to be bullied. He tells her “whatever”. But she demands he listens to her and asks if he is sorry. She tells him she can see he does not appear to be the least bit sorry for what he did to that boy and does he not realize that what he did could have scarred Shane for life.

Shane tells his parents he wants to be happy and normal and not always the sick kid who has to go to the doctor for asthma or cancer when all the other kids get to socialize and have fun. He cries and tells them he has to make up friends in comics because he doesn’t have any real ones. He tells his parents they may think they get it but they don’t. Dad was a jock and mom was a cheerleader. Gigi then reminds her son she got pregnant at 17 and that was not “so cool”. She tells him that kids no longer wanted to know her and her parents threw her out. He asks if that means that “he” ruined her life. She tells him it seemed that way for a while. She thought her life and future was over. But when she saw him, her life changed. And he has made her happy ever since. He asks if she felt that way even when he was sick. She tells him of course.

Marty tells Starr that she has tried to make amends and apologize to Natalie for what she did. And the next person she needs to apologize to is Starr. She admits she blamed Starr for what happened to Cole saying if Starr had not been with James, Cole would not have gotten in trouble. But she now knows that Starr has to move on.

Téa tells John the fact is Todd could die. Nobody ever knows what could happen. People think they have forever to “get over it” and work things out. But it could be gone the next moment. You could wake up the next day and realize it’s too late.

Natalie tells Brody she cannot believe that her dad could go down for murder. He tells her he is not concerned about her dad but wants to be there for her and baby Liam. She then turns to him appearing very receptive to think that he cares for her.

Charlie tells Viki it is not her. It’s him. When he first met her and she was “Viki D”, he could tell her anything. She could always bring out the best in him. But maybe when he is really “low”, he just can’t bare to have her see him like that. It is not blaming her. She tells him the only one they can blame there is Echo. She manipulated and used him. Charlie tells Viki no. He then admits he never meant to hurt Viki. But he and Echo “mean something” to each other.

Marty tells Starr that even though she and Marty’s son are not together again, she (Marty) would still like to be a part of Hope’s life. Starr assures Marty that she will always be Hope’s grandmother. Starr and Hope leave. Alone, Marty reflects all she remembers about John and Natalie.

Brody kisses baby Liam good night and reflects to Natalie that even when things are not going good for him, he always looks forward to being with his son. She tells him she really appreciates that. But they know, at that point, that it’s his cue to leave.

Téa tells John if he does not want to talk about Natalie and the baby, she gets that. But she has to get home. She has a child who needs her. And so does he. She reminds John that he is John’s son if John will have him. And she tells John he needs to chase some “real leads” on Todd’s shooter.

Tomás and Dani are bonding while he tells her about growing up with Téa and their parents. He remembers he got in trouble with their dad once but Téa knew how to “plead his case” for him. And that was when he knew she’d found her calling as a lawyer. Téa was only 8 years old, he tells his niece.. Dani then tells her uncle she’d like to hear more stories and keep her mind off her dad at least for a while. She tells him her dad has survived near death before. Tomás remarks that Todd has a wife and beautiful kids to come back to. Dani tells him that her dad will want to hunt down the person who shot him.

Blair tells Jack what he has done is very serious. There are going to be some serious consequences starting with his being grounded. He is not going anywhere until she says otherwise. He is going to come straight home from school and no more going out on school nights or weekends.. The only phone he will use is her phone where she can hear and know everything he says and does. He will do his homework on her computer where she can be aware of everything he does. No more Wi-Fi or private internet. And that MyFace account is over. She tells him his bullying days are over.

Charlie admits to Viki that what he’s been doing with Echo is more than just an “affair”. She asks if he loves Echo. When Charlie does not answer, Viki cries and runs out of the room.

Blair stands over an unconscious Todd and leads her son out the door. Starr and baby Hope arrive and join her. Marty then appears not far away with what appears to be paternity test results.

John is alone in his office burying himself in work but appearing empty when he sees the sonogram when he believed he would be the father of Natalie’s baby.

Natalie is alone with baby Liam.

Tomás and Dani are happily together when Téa returns to her daughter and brother.. Dani shows her mom a picture that Tomás kept of himself and Téa when they were children. Téa closes the door and is silent not knowing what to believe about her brother. When Tomás is alone, he stares at the picture of Todd when he married Blair many years ago.

On the ledge, Rex urges Shane to know that he is stronger than any of this. He must remember that asthma could not beat him. Neither could cancer. They just need a little help with the creeps right now. But they will find it. He promises. Shane must give them a chance. Gigi reminds her son he said he loved them in his note. Does he? And Shane stands wondering what he should do on the edge of the rooftop.
