Nash and Jessica are stuck in his car and a blizzard rages around them. "So is this storm going to affect our vineyard?" Nash doesn't think so. He has the place weather-proofed. He wanted to show her what has been going on at the vineyard. "It is incredible what work has been done because of Antonio. It was a very generous Cristmas gift." Jessica knows that Antonio is very generous. "Yes, yes! We all know what a generous person Antonio is but can we please stop talking about it?"

Cristian and Evangeline are too involved in each other to see when Layla arrives at their table. "We did really well yesterday with the modeling. Adriana and I are on our way up!" Layla tells.

"This isn't bad," Talia says to Bo dropping off incident reports from the past year. She leaves the room. "What are you going to do about Todd Manning?" Antonio asks. Bo tells how Blair didn't peg Todd for the bad guy at the incident. "I think that I want Todd to go free," Antonio tells Bo. "So do I," .Bo says.

"There is no medal for suffering," Michael tells John who is trying to move around and still not taking his medication. Marcie understands what John is feeling. "he just wants to go home," she says. John tells how Marty was in his room to see him. Michael is stunned.

"I am here to let you know that John will be released soon," Natalie tells Spencer when she enters his room. Spencer jokes that the man will probably try to kill him when he gets out of the hospital. Natalie thinks that he is being ridiculous when he says that John already came there to try to kill him…the night before. He can see that she really didn't realize that he was out of his room the night before.

Cris leaves Layla and Evangeline to talk about lingerie so that &# 9;he can go and see Lindsay who has just entered the diner. "I think that 2007 is going to be a great year," Layla says. "We both have jobs we love!" Evangeline isn't sure how long her job will last though. Nora suddenly appears and has overheard the girls talking. "Plans can change! How would you like to me my permanent ADA?"

Cristian is at another table talking to Lindsay who tells him that he should keep trying to paint and maybe things will turn around for him…

Vincent shows up at the station wondering when Antonio is going to get off his butt and find out who torched his building and killed his friend.

John loses his mind when he learns that Michael arranged for him to see a shrink. "I did suggest a psychiatric evaluation, and I am telling you now that you need to stand by my suggestion, cause you need some help!"

"You want to see the bruises?" Spencer offers. Natalie knows that Spencer could have faked that. She also knows that when the judge realizes that he is faking crazy as well, he will be immediately locked. "Hey Nat…Does he love you? Did you ever ask him that question?" Natalie tells the crazy bastard to go to hell and she walks out.

"Did you manage to enjoy yourself the other night at the party?" Jessica asks Nash. Nash did and he enjoyed thanking Antonio for all his help. Jessica wants to know more about Claudia and what happened to her New Years Eve… Nash tells her to lay off that. He doesn't believe that she really wants to know about Claudia and how she was feeling that night. "I really do want to know… I know what it must be like to feel all alone on New Years Eve…" Nash turns to stare at the side of her face now.

Nash tells that Claudia fell off the wagon on New Years Eve. Jess sympathizes with her, but Nash is the one who feels responsible. he feels that he should have been in love with her. That would have helped her. Too bad he was in love with someone else.

Vincent pushes Antonio to look into the fire. Antonio decides to go and check out the burned building himself.

Cris tells Lindsay that he has decided to try something new as a career..."I would like to get involved in photography". Lindsay smiles.

John finds his brother to be a traitor by making it difficult for him to get out of the hospital and take care of Truman. Michael tells the man that he doesn't go to the police station and tell him how to do his job. He warns his brother that if he doesn't smarten up he is going to have a real problem on his hands. "He already does," Natalie says coming in the room behind the brothers and Marcie.

"Where did you go last night?" Natalie asks. Michael doesn't understand. Natalie tells that she came to surprise John the night before and he wasn't there. "I took a walk," John says. Natalie tells that Spencer said that John tried to kill him. "Is that right John?" John will not answer her. "What the hell were you thinking John?" Michael asks. "I knew that this would happen, so now I am going to get all the doctors and make them put guards on your door! This is a hospital! There is pathogens, there are diseases here…" Natalie says that if John will not take care of himself, they will have to do it for him. He feels that he knows what is best for himself and Marcie agrees with him.

Bo comes to see Spencer. "I think that you should agree to give up this insanity thing and I will get the death penalty off the table…"

"I bet you have a good eye," Lindsay says to Cris. She wants to see any pictures that he has taken. "You already have a good eye and you know composition. Give it a try…and if you are any good…I will give you a show. Now you remember that you are an artist.

You tell Evangeline I said 'hi'."

"Why do you want me?" Evangeline asks Nora. "When Hugh died and I had my stroke, I realized that I want to spend time at home and not at the office." Layla tells her sister that she should just take the job. "Well shouldn't her boyfriend have a say in all that?" Vincent asks walking up to the table.

"You just hate seeing me alone. Why don't you admit it?" Nash asks Jessica. "My life is going pretty good right now even though you may not think so. I don't need someone to make it all better." Jessica stays quiet. She realizes that she is hungry. He has a chocolate bar and they split it. They will be stuck there until the plows come to get them so they can get out of there.

Vincent says that he was just curious as to how Cris would be taking the news that Evangeline would be working permanently for the prosecutor's office. Evangeline says that she doesn't need Cris's approval to accept a job. Cris returns to the table wondering if everything is okay. Layla leaves. Vincent gets a call from Antonio about his building and so he rushes off.

"There is only one victim here…and that's me," Spencer says. "I am not crazy." Bo knows that Spencer will fry regardless. Spencer thinks that he is going to be free soon. He knows that unlike Todd, he will be free. Bo gives him the news that an eyewitness says that the fall from the roof was an accident. Spencer says there weren't any eyewitnesses, but then he remembers Blair.

"You couldn't keep him in here if you tried," Marcie says. She has no idea why Michael can't talk to the doctors and get John out of there. Marcie finally wears him down and he goes to find a doctor. "Fine!" Natalie says. "But whatever the doctors say you should do, you should do." She runs out after Michael to see the doctors. "Thanks for helping me out," John tells Marcie.

"What do you want to do?" Nash asks Jessica. "We are out of gas…So now we are going to freeze too." Jessica doesn't want to do this. Nash feels they have no choice. Their cellphone don't even work where they are. Reluctantly she gets out of her car and she and Nash start walking in the blizzard.

Marcie gives John a blow by blow about what is going on outside his hospital room. She sees Michael and Natalie trying to get the doctors to lighten up on the rules for John's treatment. John tries to get out of bed to go and talk to the doctors himself, after all this is his fight. "I know it's your fight, but if the doctor sees you acting like this and outside of the room, you're never going to be able to leave. So sit back." Marcie is sure that Michael and Natalie will be convincing enough to get John what he wants.

Dr. Rice doesn't think that he should push John's treatment anymore than they are currently pushing it. "Ok. Well, then, you're going to have to come up with some sort of solution. I mean, short of chaining him to the bed, he's going to get up and walk out of there," Michael shares.

"Look, I wouldn't worry too much about it. You know, Michael -- he can be really convincing when he wants to be," Marcie assures. John knows that. That's how he got all these rules on him and Marty as well. Marcie knows that Michael was only doing what he did out of concern. Marcie is on John's side but tells John that he can be pretty high-maintenance at times and that can make things difficult for everyone else. John tries to fight that comment but soon backs down since he knows that what Marcie says is the truth. Natalie and Michael return to the room now.

Layla tells Cris how Layla has been asked to work permanently for the DA's office. She explains Nora's situation. "She wants to spend more time with her kid. Oh -- I'm supposed to meet Adriana in about five minutes and we have a zillion things to do and no clue how to do them, so -- " Layla rushes out of the diner. Cris will let her know later how things turned out.

"So, do you think that Vincent burned down his own building? And killed Ted?" Evangeline asks Nora. "Well, I mean, if he was short of cash, maybe. I mean, it wouldn't be the first time someone's done something like that out of desperation. What do you think?" Nora explains. "Well, after what he did to Cristian, I guess I shouldn't put it past him, but I'd have to see all the evidence before I made any kind of definitive decision on something like that," Evangeline says. Nora loves the fairness in Evangeline, and that is the reason that she wants the girl to come and work for her. "It's not fear, it's ambition and a little bit of materialism. I mean, I've worked very hard to create a very successful practice that I run. And I kind of like being able to pay for my very fancy car." Nora sees that Evangeline is looking at this all wrong. "I'm not asking you to give up your car, I'm asking you to come join the good guys." Evangeline shakes her head. "I don't know, Nora. I mean, work for the government and have all the scut-work and the all-nighters --" Nora knows how to bait Evangeline into this. "Oh, think of it as a challenge for your ego. You love a challenge, don't you? Ok. First of all, you -- you've been a defense attorney, so you know how the other side thinks. Second of all, you don't give up. Third of all, you're fair. I mean, look at what you said about Vince. You know? You're not going to pass any judgment until you get all the evidence." Evangeline thinks that everyone should think like that. "Ugh, please. That's -- that's innocent until proven guilty. It's called justice. I didn't invent the concept." Nora knows that. "Ok, ok, ok, ok. You want the truth? Here's the truth -- I like you. And, more importantly, you like me. And you can work with me, and I can't say that about everybody."

Vincent is back at the station asking Antonio what "What did I find? I -- I found an insurance adjuster. And he -- he -- what -- what does he do?" Talia tells Antonio that this guy assesses damages after an incident like this. "Right, they assess the damages. And you know, he wasn't aware that -- that your insurance had lapsed," Antonio says to Vincent. Vincent says that he discovered that he is insured for this type of incident after all. He canceled it but there is a grace period and the fire happened during this time. Vincent says that he just learned this news. "Of course you did. Go figure. Looks like he's going to get paid after all, huh, officer Sahid?" Vincent doesn't think that he will be paid. "Not when they find out that there was proof of arson. And if I deliberately burned down my building, for the money, trust me -- you and the rest of the boys in blue around here wouldn't find any proof." Antonio wonders aloud if Vincent is really clever enough to have set this all up to happen the way that it did. He warns Vincent that this thing could turn into a murder charge for him if it turns out that he only did it for money. All Antonio needs is a check to see if the accelerant leads to Vincent or not. If so, then Antonio will be all over the man. Vincent feels this is just payback for what happened to Cris but Antonio says that his concern if for dead Ted. "Let me tell you, like I told John McBain, if you continue to refuse to find out who really did this, then I will. Have a nice day," Vincent says before walking out.

Natalie and Michael tell John the good news that he is going home. "This is not a free pass, brother. Natalie and I -- we're going to be watching you -- 24 hours, seven days a week," Michael warns. John jokes that he won't sue if they get him sick. Natalie asks to talk to the man alone for a minute. One look into Nat's eye and he knows that he is in for it. "John, do you remember what it felt like when your dad died? The loss? The unbearable pain? And the emptiness? Well, that's what I felt when I thought that I lost you. I think this is a bad idea. I mean, how do you -- how do you make any room in the angel but it's not my decision. I'm not your mother and I'm not your wife. But if you die -- if that happens -- I don't think I can bear to lose you again." John promises the he will not be leaving Natalie again.

"Todd deliberately shoved us off that roof because he thought that Blair was pregnant with my child. It's that simple," Spencer tells Bo. Spencer can't understand now why Blair would be protecting Todd after all that he has done to her. "You know, Truman, I think I have to explain something to you. Todd and Blair -- they love each other. They always have, they always will. You? You are nothing more than a speed bump. Now, you think about my offer. If you change your mind, you know where to find me."

Evangeline likes the idea of being ADA but she is a defense attorney at heart, and she is a good one. "Oh, for god's sake -- I'll have your back, the same way Hank had mine when I first got there, the same way I take care of all my ADAs on my staff." Evangeline finds the idea of that interesting considering they usually work on opposite sides of the fence in their work. " Listen, there's something you should know. I do call all the shots. But for you, there'd be room for disagreement." Evangeline expects that if she takes the job there had better be a lot of room for disagreement. "I'm not going to give you time to weasel out of this. I want an answer right now," Nora demands. Cris comes over at this time. He tells the ladies that he knows what this discussion is about. Cris feels that Evangeline already knows what the answer to Nora's proposal is going to be, even if she shies away from it. Evangeline never says the word, 'yes'. Nora just acts as if she does and she orders coffees all the way around.

Nash makes light of the predicament that he and Jessica are in but she isn't finding this very funny at all. At least they have light thanks to the old lantern in there that still work. Now all they have to worry about is heat. She thinks that he is being ridiculous for asking her for matches. She doesn't carry that. "No, of course you don't. You're Jessica. I meant some kindling. Maybe a tissue, a powder puff thing -- toilet paper --" She has tissue but that won't work. Jessica ignores him and tries to use the tissue to make a fire but that doesn't work. Jessica hears a noise outside the cave and panics. Was it a plow? They head to the front of the cave. A rumbling noise can be heard and more rocks and snow falls on their heads.
