Nora and Matthew arrive home after having been with the birds and feeding them. Matthew confesses to his mother that he has lied to her. He knows something and he would like to tell her about it. Nora looks at him to brace herself for what he might say next.

Gabrielle is hurting at the funeral for Al. A huge portrait of him sits at the entrance to the home. Gabrielle can barely stand up over what has happen and Bo is there to comfort her. He isn’t going anywhere and he assures her of that.

…Marcie can’t leave to be with her family at this time. She knows that she only has a few stolen moments left before Al is truly gone and she wants to be here. Al is still there with her, and she would like to stay close to his presence. She hears that Al’s body is going to be taken away and that terrifies her. What are Bo and Gabrielle talking about?

Flash reviews her article in the paper with a friend. Everyone loves her and it is all because of Al. She wishes that Al had been there to see what a success she is becoming. She knows that he is responsible for it and he should be here to share it with her.

Pilar leaves her daughter in the park and heads to work at the diner. Once alone, the girl gets news about Al Holden from a friend. The friend from school has a newspaper and shows her article. The fellow student is on his second book for his reading list at school and isn’t rushed for homework. Is she? He would like to meet up with the girl and be alone for a while with her. She suggests the diner but he would really like to meet her someplace else instead.

Jessica comes out of the shower and sees in the paper that the DA is going for the death penalty for Antonio. She is only in her towel. She is going to the funeral and she would like Antonio to come with her, but Antonio knows that isn’t possible. Too many people would be hurt and the press is after him at every turn. That concerns her that people out there think that he could kill someone so callously. She knows him better. Antonio arrives and she covers what she has learned from the paper. He will find out the news himself soon enough. There is no need for her to tell him what is going to come. She is sure that he didn’t kill Keri, but he has to face that he might not be cleared of the murder and might get the death penalty over the mistake.

RJ comes to see his daughter at her grave. He has the biggest bouquet of yellow roses for her and he lays them on her grave. He didn’t mean for this to happen. He tried to control a few things in her life, but he didn’t mean her any harm. He knew that Antonio was going to hurt her eventually, but he only wanted to keep her safe from him…that is all. That was why he did what he did. He had to do it. He felt that he had no choice in the matter. He hears someone coming and turns to find the District Attorney standing behind him. What is she doing here? She is afraid to go near him but she ventures forth anyway. She would like to talk to him and is trying to find the right words to approach this grieving parent with. He rises as she comes closer in his defensive mode.

RJ is angry with the District Attorney for defending Antonio in the murder of his daughter. To him it is clear that Antonio and Antonio alone is responsible for the murder that has taken place. She thought that RJ was someone that cared a lot and wouldn’t want the wrong thing to be done in this matter, but maybe she was wrong. His daughter is dead and punishing the wrong man isn’t going to bring her back, surely he realizes that. She cares for RJ and she was worried about Keri and her obsession with Antonio; and now RJ has the same obsession and it is leading him down the wrong path as well. RJ says that he is only obsessed with justice in this matter. He knows in his heart that this is the right thing to be doing. RJ knows that Antonio is not the innocent man that he portrays himself to be. He is sure that Antonio is responsible, even if he didn’t push her to her death. The DA catches this strange sentence and that makes her think for a minute that RJ might indeed know more.

Antonio knows that this is going to be a tough fight. He knows that this is going to be rough for Jessica. She loves him and she isn’t going anywhere. She doesn’t want to lose him now. They hold each other and share a kiss. He tells her that she should go to the service. He can’t go with her but he wishes that he could. They will pray for each other. She heads to the door and leaves.

Once alone, Antonio reads the article about him in the paper…

Nora learns for her son that her son played a trick so that Nora wouldn’t end up going to the baseball game with Bo. He is to have no video games for a month. She sees that he is really repentant over what he is done. She wants him never to do anything like this again. God would want that. Why did he do that? Matthew didn’t want to have another dad. What he would really like now is some apple juice and he heads to the kitchen.

Nora knows that she has her hands full, if her child is going to act this way. She talks to god telling him that she knows that she hasn’t been truthful in the past as well. She will set the record straight as soon as Bo can handle it.

Bo and Gabrielle explain to Marcie that they want to send Al’s body to Argentina. Marcie is fine with that. She still has Al’s spirit here…

…Nat and Cris arrive and meet up with Jen and her escort. Nat is not happy to see Jen. They are all trying however to put all of this behind them…

…Bo assures Gabrielle that he needs to be with her right now. Gabrielle thinks that maybe getting over this is something that they should both handle on their own…

…Max feels that at any moment, Al is going to walk around the corner. René is there for him and she begs him to lean on her. That is what she is there for…

…Flash shows up for the funeral and she is instantly recognized. It isn’t cool for the kids to be acting this way at a funeral but they don’t care and they start milling around her and taking her picture. The mob gets quickly out of control.

Pilar’s daughter and her friend from school are together in her room studying but the boy can’t resist trying to steal kisses from the beautiful girl. She promised her mother that she wouldn’t have anyone in her room. The boy is quick to comply and they return to studying. They can’t focus. She remains still as the boy leans towards her and kisses her. They can’t seem to stop now.

At the funeral, the kids are stopped from mobbing Flash. She asks the kids to be respectful and behave. She would also like them to go home after the service and remember Al as they listen to her music…

…Flash knows that she has had her first brush with fame. She has to get used to that…

…Jessica has arrived alone to the funeral…

…It is time to take seats and so, all are seated…

…”Let us pray…Dear Lord…”

Antonio is at the waterfront alone when the Dr. Anderson shows up and startles Antonio. The case against him is good but not airtight. The jury however, may not feel that way. Innocent before guilty doesn’t always work that way. Antonio has no way to catch the killer when he has no access to tools from work. How can he catch the killer? The District Attorney feels that all he has to do is work on RJ. Antonio turns to her startled at what he is hearing.

Antonio knows that RJ wouldn’t ever murder his own daughter, but what if Keri had a change of heart and changed her mind about leaving. RJ could have backed her up against the edge and she may have fallen over. Antonio will not be a part of this. He knows that RJ is innocent and he is not going to hurt RJ the way that RJ insists on hurting him.

RJ is crying over his daughter’s grave. “I am sorry for everything.” The man is sobbing over the flowers that he has put on his daughter’s grave.

Nora shows Matthew how to light a candle for the people that they love. She says the traditional Jewish prayers for the lost ones.

…The funeral continues…Things seem to be happening out of order. Children are supposed to outlive their parents…

…Max remembers talking to Al as a little boy. He wished that he could spend every moment with the boy but he couldn’t stop him from growing up. Al wasn’t the one that was supposed to leave…

…There isn’t anyone that hasn’t been touched by Al. They listened to the voice of the night for months. They wanted to hear the things that were in Al’s mind and in his heart. They needed to hear those things. The room looks at Al’s picture and they all know that he isn’t gone but in a better place. Everyone that loves him and cares about him can take comfort…

…Marcie looks down at her hands and a hand touches hers. Al tells her that no one can see him, only her. He is there to say goodbye to her the right way. Marcie starts to cry, as this is too hard. Al knows that. He has come back to help her get over him. She looks over at him, her eyes big as saucers. The lights dim and no one else at the funeral can see that she is meeting once more with the man that has touched her so deeply.

Pilar’s daughter knows that she is getting in too deep with the boy in her room. She suddenly gets very nervous. He thinks that she is beautiful inside and out. She has gotten to him like no one else. He sounds like an idiot but she thinks that he says nice things. She feels the same as he does. She never knew what love was like until she met him. They are still sitting on her bed and they kiss some more.

Pilar phones home and decides to come home. She thinks that her daughter is home studying. She will see the girl later.

Back at home; Pilar’s daughter removes her blouse as she continues petting and kissing with the boy in her room. He takes out a condom and they both look at the package longingly. Things seem to be okay with her and so they continue the beginnings of lovemaking.

Antonio hates RJ but he knows that the man didn’t do this and he is upset that the District Attorney thinks that RJ could do this. It was because of what she saw over at Keri’s grave. Antonio heads over there and the District Attorney can only hope that Antonio will not do anything stupid over there.

Jessica is speaking at Al’s grave. She could always count on him and now she has no idea what she is going to do without him. She is crying now…

…Al comes to Marcie again. He doesn’t want her to cry…

…Al stands by and hears Flash talk about him…

…Jen tells how she and Al were friends and how he was able to forgive. He believed in 2nd chances and he should have gotten one…

…Al wants Marcie to remember the fun that they used to have. He reminds her of the roller-skating and the lovemaking. He was never happier. He doesn’t want to be remembered with tears, only with her beautiful smile. She can’t help smiling at that…She jumps up telling everyone that the funeral is all wrong. She knows that everyone is upset but Al really wouldn’t have wanted this. He would have wanted the place to rock. They should remember the jokes that he told. She tells everyone that it is okay to laugh. She would really like them all to remember him that way. Al stands off to the side and smiles at the monster that he has created.

Nora shows Matthew a pomegranate and she breaks it open. He is amazed by the amount of seeds inside. It represents a year full of hope. That is just what Matthew wants. They have their apples filled with honey so that next year, they will be sweet too. The tradition continues.

Antonio is at Keri’s grave alone. He kneels there crying. He feels a presence and turns to look into the eyes of RJ.

Marcie knows that they are all to sing, “Amazing Grace” but she would prefer to sing one of Al’s favourite songs…She is accompanied by guitar playing… “…All I can taste is this moment…all I can breathe is your life. Sooner or later it’s over…I just don’t want to miss you tonight…I don’t think that they’d understand…when everything is made to be broken…I just want you to know who I am…” Max smiles to himself…Gabrielle smiles to herself…

…Max turns to the back of the room instinctively. No one is there…but he can’t help the feeling. Al is there, but he is there for Marcie alone. Al kissed his fingers and blows them at Marcie. She breaks down near the end of her song, but is able to continue on.

…Al is truly happy now. He has helped his friend as she has helped him in his life. He walks out of the room feeling jubilant…he smiles at the sky and then suddenly…he is air…
