At her townhouse, Sami hears a knock on her door. She flies over and answers it, only to see Sydney sitting outside in a car seat. Sami kneels down tearfully and greets her baby.

Justin shows up at Bo’s house, saying that they need to talk. Bo claims that it will have to wait, as he was on his way out, but Justin says it can’t—not after what he saw here last night. Bo asks what he means, and Justin explains that he arrived last night a few minutes before Hope, and he saw Carly and Bo through the window. Bo scoffs, saying that they were just talking. Justin thinks he’s being defensive, but Bo wonders why he shouldn’t be, since Justin has been snooping around his house. Bo then asks Justin angrily if he confronted Carly about this after they left last night. Justin admits he did, and Bo says he’s being the jerk now. Justin tells Bo to go ahead and let Carly destroy his marriage if he wants—he won’t say another word.

Carly shows up at the hospital and greets Maggie. Maggie says she has been meaning to call Carly, as she feels terribly about what happened between her and the girls. Carly begs her not to give it another thought, but Maggie says she can’t understand why Melanie and Mia would be so against Carly moving in. She adds that she shouldn’t have let them get away with it, since it isn’t their house. Carly admits that she wouldn’t want to live anyplace where she was resented, so she thinks Maggie did the right thing. Carly then says that she hates to impose ion Maggie’s kindness again, but she needs one more favor, and this one really has to work out for her.

Melanie heads into Maggie’s kitchen. Someone knocks on the door. She opens it to find Philip outside with a bouquet of flowers. She stares. He asks if she is going to invite him in, but she refuses, shaking her head. Philip sighs.

At the pub, Nathan flashes back to confronting Melanie about nearly kissing Philip. She begs him to give her another chance, but Nathan doesn’t see the point, as Philip will always be in her head and in her heart. Melanie claims that she is working on it, and that she just needs some time. Nathan tells her that there is no more time, and that the two of them are done. Nathan comes back to the present with a sigh. Daniel walks over, asking if he has had a rough morning.

Sami comes back from her reverie and leaps up from the couch, crying out for Sydney. She flings the door open, but only a newspaper is outside. Sami picks it up. The headline screams that there has been no break in the kidnapping case. Sami cries out for Sydney.

At the DiMera mansion, Stefano tells someone over the phone to sit tight until he has more instructions. He hangs up as EJ comes in. EJ tells Stefano that there have been enough games. He demands to know where his daughter is. Stefano scoffs.

A woman sits in a rocking chair in a room somewhere. She sings a lullaby to Sydney, who babbles and grins.

Vivian heads into the living room at the Kiriakis mansion. She greets Victor, who is sitting behind a paper, wearing sunglasses. Vivian asks what is going on, and Victor shows her that he has a black eye. He explains that he went ice-skating with Ciara, and his triple lutz turned into a double klutz. He grumps that he doesn’t want to talk about it. Vivian assures him that she will take good care of him as the new lady of the manor. Victor scoffs, asking what planet she is living on this morning, as their shacking up is supposed to be for show. Vivian admits it is for now, but Victor warns her to keep her eye on the prize. Vivian tells him not to worry, as she is confident the two of them together can get Carly out of this world for good.

Maggie asks Carly what she can do for her, and Carly explains that she is interviewing for a staff position, thanks to Maggie’s recommendation. Maggie thinks her medical skills had a lot to do with it. Carly thanks her for saying so, and explains that she needs to know who she is meeting with so she can make sure she says the right thing. Maggie thinks it’s important to Carly that she is offered this position, and admits that she gets the impression Carly is desperate to stay in Salem. Maggie tells her she would like to know why.

Bo wonders who appointed Justin guardian of his marriage. Justin claims he just cares about Bo, Hope, and their marriage. Bo snaps that his caring has become inappropriate and uncomfortable. Bo reminds Justin that Hope is his wife, and this is his marriage. He tells Justin to get a life and stay out of his, Hope’s, and Carly’s.

Stefano tearfully tells EJ that it saddens him that EJ blames him for this tragedy. He then changes his mind, raging that it really makes him apoplectic. EJ demands to know why he is calling it a tragedy. Stefano reminds him angrily that his daughter is missing, so it isn’t exactly an annoyance. EJ calms down, saying he thought Stefano had heard something. Stefano rails that the only thing he has heard is accusations from his ungrateful son. He snaps at EJ not to feel sorry for himself, either, because he disowned his daughter and now she’s gone missing. Stefano shouts that the only thing EJ should feel is disgust, and tells him to get out of his house. EJ retorts that if anyone is going to be leaving this house, it’s Stefano.

Philip asks if Melanie is mad about the flowers, and reminds her it isn’t as if he is asking her to fly to Vegas to tie the knot. He begs her to let him in, and Melanie reluctantly agrees, saying that she is just switching purses, and then she is leaving. Philip asks if she is meeting Nathan. Melanie admits they haven’t spoken since the break-up. Philip grins. Melanie snaps at him not to take that as a good sign, because she and Nathan are going to work everything out. Philip wonders how she knows that, and Melanie explains that she plans on showing Nathan that she is capable of only being with him. Philip scoffs, saying she isn’t. Melanie warns him not make her angrier than she already is. Philip counters that he likes it when she is angry. Melanie fumes at him for being so patronizing, and demands that he start taking her seriously. She adds that things aren’t ever going to work between them because he always does this—he charms her pants off, and then tells her to take a hike. Philip vows that that won’t happen this time, and insists that he wants to get to know Melanie better. She demands to know if he is implying that Nathan doesn’t know her. Philip says he doesn’t, claiming that Nathan only likes the boring side of her. Melanie admits that Nathan does like her good side, but she loved that Nathan saw her as a classy woman with potential, and she misses looking at herself through Nathan’s eyes. She then abruptly says that she has to go and heads off, slamming the door behind her. Philip sighs.

Nathan asks Daniel why he wanted to meet him outside the hospital, and worries that he is in trouble. Daniel says that isn’t it at all, and that actually, he has something positive to share with Nathan--something he thinks Nathan will like a lot.

Bo shows up at Sami’s place. She hugs him. He asks her how she is holding up, and she sighs, saying that she is just trying to get by right now. She asks if he has any news, but Bo admits he doesn’t have anything of substance to tell her. He then explains he came by to go over everything with her again, and make sure they haven’t missed any details, especially where Stefano is concerned. Sami admits that the more she thinks about it, the more she is convinced that Stefano is behind all of this.

Stefano scoffs that this is his house, but EJ smirks, saying it isn’t anymore. He tells Stefano that when he went into his coma, he feared that Kate might try to take everything, so he put the house in his own name. He tells Stefano that he now has the power to throw him out. Stefano shouts that Kate is one thing, but he is another, and the only thing EJ has the right to throw out is the garbage. Kate rushes in just then, asking what the two are fighting about. EJ declares that it is about him, and how he is finally seeing his father for who he really is. He tells Kate that her husband took his child because Stefano knew he would never let him see Sydney again. Kate vows that that isn’t true, and that Stefano is heart-broken and tortured over Sydney’s disappearance. EJ snaps that he is only tortured with guilt. Stefano rages that if he did take that little girl, he wouldn’t feel guilty, and he wouldn’t let EJ see her ever again. EJ stomps over menacingly and calls Stefano a sick bastard. He demands once again to know where his daughter is.

Chloe heads into the pub and interrupts Daniel. He asks her to give Nathan the good news, and she grins, asking if Nathan remembers saving her life and bringing her out of her coma. Nathan jokes that he vaguely remembers. Chloe explains that she and Daniel wanted to express their appreciation, and asks Daniel to tell Nathan what they’ve done. Daniel then explains that he has recommended Nathan for a special commendation from the hospital. Nathan beams. Chloe adds that to go along with the commendation she and Daniel have planned something special she knows the both of them will love. Nathan asks who she is talking about as Melanie walks in. Chloe smiles at Melanie, telling Nathan that she’s coming in right now. He wheels around and he and Melanie exchange uncomfortable glances.

Philip storms into the Kiriakis mansion and throws the flowers he bought Melanie down on the desk. Vivian waltzes in, assuming they are for her, and thanks Philip for making her feel so welcome. He asks what she is talking about, and Vivian explains that his father asked her to move in. Victor heads in just then. Philip asks what happened to his eye and Vivian jokes that Victor thought he was Brian Boitano. Philip demands to know if Victor really asked Vivian to move in. She says she will let the two of them discuss this alone, and says she is off to the art gallery. She breezes out the door. Philip asks Victor if he is crazy. Victor retorts that he and Vivian have reconnected, and he thought Philip would be happy for him. Philip reminds him Vivian has been in town for about two minutes, but Victor insists they’ve been a wonderful two minutes. Philip shouts, demanding to know why Vivian is back in his life, why she is living here, and what is really going on.

Bo asks Sami if she was able to hear any background noise when Nicole called her, but Sami says that all she could hear was her daughter crying. Bo thanks her for the information, saying he knows this is tough for her. He asks if she needs anything before he leaves, as he’s going to meet with her father to see if anything new has come up. She sighs, saying she doesn’t, and admits she knows it seems obvious, but she is sure Stefano is behind all of this, as he is the only one that could pull it off. Bo agrees with her, and assures her that they’re keeping an eye on Stefano. He then tells her that he knows this is tough for her to believe, but they are going to get her daughter back. Sami thanks him for saying so, admitting that Ciara coming back safely gives her hope for Sydney, since Bo and Hope got their daughter back, and everything worked out for the best. Bo smiles wanly, and hugs Sami, assuring her that everything will work out for her, too.

Carly and Maggie stroll along the pier. Carly explains to Maggie that she has both good memories and good friends in Salem. Maggie thinks she has some enemies, too, but Carly claims she can handle it. Maggie thinks there is something Carly isn’t telling her, and there has to be some reason that she is so determined to stay in Salem after all these years. Justin walks over just then and smirks, saying the answer it’s obvious—it’s Bo. Carly scoffs.

Melanie reminds Chloe that she didn’t tell her Nathan and Daniel would be here. Chloe admits that she wanted it to be a surprise, and Daniel nods, explaining that he and Chloe have nominated Melanie and Nathan for a special award for saving Chloe’s life. Daniel goes on to say that they are very grateful to the two for taking such a big risk. Just then, Daniel’s pager goes off. He groans, telling Chloe that he has to go back to the hospital, and asks her to explain the rest to Nathan and Melanie. He kisses Chloe and hurries off. Chloe then tells the two that she and Daniel found out Nathan and Melanie were an item. She hands Melanie a sheet of paper, and explains that she and Daniel have arranged for them to have a romantic getaway weekend at the Green Mountain lodge. Melanie takes the paper from Chloe and she and Nathan smile half-heartedly.

Victor snaps that he doesn’t like to be badgered, but Philip reminds him angrily that this is his house, too, and he has a right to know if that lunatic is going to be moving in. Victor retorts that Vivian is as sane as they come. Philip scoffs. Victor tells Philip that he and Vivian are back together whether he likes it or not, but Philip doesn’t buy it, as he knows his father despises Vivian. Victor doesn’t think Philip should be weighing in, given his own track record with women. He then tells Philip that this conversation is over, and storms out of the room. Vivian returns just then, saying she forgot her coat. He asks Philip if the flowers were for the special someone he mentioned the other day, and she guesses that things didn’t go so well. Philip wonders how it is any of her business. Vivian claims that she cares about Philip, and that he must know that she is on his side.

EJ vows that someday soon, he and his daughter will live in this house, and Stefano will be where he belongs—in hell. EJ stalks off. Kate tells Stefano how sorry she is that it has come to this. Stefano smirks, saying that finally, EJ is getting exactly what he deserves.

Outside, EJ calls Sami, telling her that he needs to see her right away.

Kate offers to go get Stefano some tea to calm his nerves, and heads for the kitchen. Stefano makes a phone call.

The woman keeping Sydney hums softly to the baby as her phone rings. She answers and listens, then assures the person that phoned that everything is fine, and that Sydney is being a perfect angel.

Melanie thanks Chloe for her generous offer, but explains that she and Nathan are no longer dating. Chloe apologizes profusely, telling Melanie how embarrassing this is, and how Daniel is going to kill her for getting a gift that was so personal. Just then, her phone rings. Chloe excuses herself to take it, apologizing again. Nathan snaps that Melanie should take the weekend at the lodge, as he is sure Philip will love it. Melanie sighs.

Vivian tries to offer Philip some advice about the girl in his life, but Philip retorts that he doesn’t need anything from Vivian, and demands that she stay out of his life. Vivian sighs, saying she knows Philip is going to try to fight this, but one day, she knows he will accept her as his mother. Philip scoffs, saying that if that is true, then what people have been saying is true as well—that he really is a son of a bitch.

Carly accuses Justin of eavesdropping. She adds angrily that it is one thing to make unfounded accusations in private, but spilling them to Maggie is a whole different story. She then decides that since they are going public, she ought to fill Maggie in on Justin’s own dishonorable intentions toward a certain woman. Maggie isn’t sure what either of them are talking about, but suggests they discuss it later, since she and Carly have work to talk about. Justin guesses snidely that Carly is trying to get a job at the hospital. Carly retorts sarcastically that she’s only doing so so she can wreak havoc on all the marriages in town. Justin says shortly that he has to get back to work himself and says pointedly that it was nice to see Maggie. He heads off. Maggie is sorry that Justin upset Carly. Carly sighs, saying it isn’t so much what Justin said, but the way he said it, as he prefers to be smug and snide as opposed to direct. Maggie suggests there may be some truth to what Justin said, and that Carly is only so upset because she really does have feelings for Bo. Carly vehemently denies it.

Kate brings Stefano his tea, telling him how sorry she is that things are so strained between him and EJ, but she is sure his son will come around eventually. Stefano rages that EJ is trying to kick them out of the house. Kate asks if he can do that. Stefano says EJ thinks he can, but he will never let that happen. Kate worriedly asks Stefano if EJ is wrong about him having Sydney.

EJ bursts into Sami’s place. She asks him what the news is, but he says there isn’t any, and that he came by because he has a plan. He breathlessly claims that he has figured out how to get Stefano to lead them to Sydney.

Melanie tells Nathan sarcastically that she and Philip aren’t even speaking, but it’s probably a good idea to take him to the lodge so they can sneer at each other all weekend long. Nathan sullenly suggests they try making another video. Melanie starts to storm off angrily, but Nathan apologizes, admitting that the romantic getaway threw him for a loop. Melanie says she understands, but that doesn’t give him the right to be a jerk. Nathan agrees, and says he is sorry, as they ought to put all this aside and be glad they work well together as a team. Melanie scoffs, reminding Nathan that she was the one that convinced him to help Daniel. Nathan agrees this all happened because of her. Melanie sighs, saying they may have been a good team, but they weren’t good for each other. Nathan guesses not. Melanie says she has to go and heads out of the pub with a sigh.

Carly tells Maggie that she isn’t sure how to explain how she is feeling. She says she was terrified after Lawrence died, and since she knew he and Vivian’s men would be coming for her, she sought refuge with the one person she knew she could trust—Bo. She then swears that she only came to town looking for a friend. Maggie asks if things were complicated once she arrived, and Carly nods, admitting that Bo and Hope were already estranged. She admits she is grateful to have Bo back in her life, but that is all she is feeling. She adds that whatever they had is in the past, and he now belongs with Hope. Maggie reminds her that Bo isn’t currently with Hope.

Justin finds Daniel at the hospital, and explains that he and the whole family need his help. Daniel asks what this is about, and Justin says it has to do with a woman he knows.

Vivian opens the door of the mansion to find Melanie outside. She demands to know what she is doing lurking around, and Melanie stammers, explaining that she is here to see Philip. Vivian assumes she must be the one and compliments her appearance, saying she approves. She lets Melanie in and shouts for Philip, saying that he has a visitor. She tells Melanie confidentially that she would be hard-pressed to find anyone like her loving son. Philip heads in, scowling. Vivian says she has to be off to the art gallery and heads out the door. Melanie asks what that was all about, and Philip explains that that was his incubator mom. Melanie wonders what she is doing here, and Philip says he will explain later. He then asks why Melanie is here, and if she changed her mind about the two of them. Melanie says she both has and hasn’t. Philip stares in confusion.

Carly assures Maggie that she isn’t going after Bo, and that Justin is just out to cause problems for his own reasons. Just then, Carly stops short. Maggie turns around to find Bo standing behind them.

Chloe learns that Nicole has been transported back to Salem. She hangs up her phone and heads over to Nathan, apologizing again about what happened. Nathan assures her he is fine, but Chloe really feels badly about the whole thing. She then suggests that he call someone that he can confide in, as she thinks he could use a friend right about now. She squeezes Nathan’s shoulder and heads off. He sighs.

Justin explains that since Daniel is a part of the hiring process, he could do him a favor and influence the committee. Daniel sighs, saying he would do anything for the family, but Justin’s friend is going to have to stand on her own merits, as he can’t push the committee to put her on staff. Justin says he wants Daniel to do quite the opposite actually, and make sure that the committee turns her down.

Bo asks Maggie and Carly what is going on. They explain that they were just catching up. Bo asks if he can hang around, as the kidnapping case is really getting to him, but Carly explains that she has a meeting and has to leave. Bo asks if he interrupted something. Maggie says he didn’t. She says she has to go, too, and asks him to tell Sami that she and Sydney are in her prayers. She hurries off. Bo stammers. Just then, Vivian walks over, greeting Bo and telling him what a nice surprise it is to see him. Bo scoffs. She claims she is glad she ran into Bo, as she has something to say to him, but he snaps back that he has something to say to her, and she had better listen.

Stefano snaps at Kate that he doesn’t like to be interrogated. She assures him that she knows he doesn’t, but she needs him to know that she is on his side, no matter what. Stefano sighs, admitting that Kate is all he has now that his son has become his enemy. Stefano says he knows that EJ thinks he took Sydney, and now EJ is doing everything in his power to get back at him.

EJ reminds Sami that he told her he was planning on moving out and cutting ties with his father, but now he has decided to fight him for the property. Sami wonders what this has to do with finding their daughter, and EJ explains that he and Stefano will have to stay in the same place if they’re caught up in a legal battle. He adds that his plan is to keep an eye on Stefano. Sami guesses that he is hoping Stefano will slip up and reveal where he is hiding Sydney, and EJ nods, saying he has already bugged the house and tapped the phones. Sami doesn’t think it will work, as Stefano is too smart for all of that, and that he will be suspicious of EJ hanging around all the time. Sami grumps that it will take forever for Stefano to give anything away. EJ tells Sami excitedly that that is where she comes in.

Nathan calls Stephanie and leaves her a voicemail, saying that he hopes they can meet up and talk when she gets his message.

Philip asks Melanie what she wants from him. She explains that she doesn’t want flowers, a limo, a fancy date or anything like that—she just wants to hang out and keep it simple. Philip claims that he can do that. Melanie is glad to hear it. Philip wonders what changed her mind, since this morning she was still hung up on Nathan. Melanie sighs, admitting that that ship has sailed, and it’s sinking fast.

Daniel is surprised that Justin doesn’t want this woman hired. Justin explains that she has become a real problem, and he just thinks it would be best if she left town. Obviously, she isn’t going to do that if she gets this job. Just then, Carly comes over and asks Daniel if it is really him. He greets her by name and hugs her, telling her it’s been a long time. Justin looks on in shock.

Bo says he has to get back to the station, so he will make this quick. He warns Vivian to stay away from Carly. Vivian tries to assure him she intends to do so, but Bo doesn’t buy it, saying that he knows Vivian is plotting away in that demented head of hers. He vows that she won’t succeed. Vivian thinks he is becoming as paranoid as Carly, but Bo ignores her, telling her that she will only get to Carly over his dead body. He storms off. Vivian smiles, saying if that is the way it has to be, then that is fine by her.

Sami asks EJ what she has to do, and he tells her to be herself, explaining that no one gets under Stefano’s skin the way that Sami does, and he usually says things he wouldn’t normally say when she is around. Sami gets it, saying that if EJ is still living there, then she will have an excuse to drop by, too. EJ nods, telling her he really thinks this might work. Sami agrees that it is worth a shot, and EJ assures her that he is sure that they can work together on this. Excited, Sami thanks him.

Kate assures Stefano that she is here for him, but he snaps at her that he has had enough of her patronizing tone, and her implying that he is guilty in all of this. Kate claims she never said that, and that she just wants him to know he has her support. Stefano grumps that he never said he took Sydney. Kate knows he didn’t and excuses herself to make some phone calls. Stefano stares sadly into Sydney’s empty playpen.

The unknown woman cuddles Sydney, telling her how shocked everyone would be if they knew who took her. The woman then vows that no one will ever find out. Sydney babbles.

Previews:

Sami tells EJ, “I know exactly how we can do this.”

Sydney’s kidnapper tells her, “You know what, darling? You and I are going to be hanging out together a lot.”

Nicole sobs, “I may have put Sydney in horrible danger.”
