Sami’s apartment:

Sami and Lucas help Will pack for his ski trip. Will surprises Sami when he thanks her for helping him pack and for redecorating his room. Lucas sends Will down to the car with some of his bags. Sami starts to worry about things she forgot as she goes over the list but Lucas assures her that Will has got everything. Lucas wants to take advantage of the time off from work and Will being gone to spend some alone time with Sami.

Chez Rouge:

EJ reads a newspaper about the Salem PD’s public apology when John walks up to his table. John sarcastically commends EJ on turning the situation around to his favor. EJ insists he’s been truly innocent all along and offers to have John join him. John agrees to stay for a moment but insults EJ by claiming that there’s not enough antacid in Salem to make him break bread with EJ. EJ decides it’s not worth spoiling his good mood by responding to such a comment. John asks if EJ is in a good mood because Patrick is lying beaten up in a hospital bed. EJ pretends to be surprised and immediately puts the suspicion on Bo as the abuser. John demands that EJ cut the act because they both know EJ was the one to deliver the beating.

Hospital:

Hope sits by Patrick’s bedside. Patrick tells Hope that he’s glad Bo beat him up because it got Hope to spend time with him. Patrick insists that he’s not the bad guy like Bo claims. Patrick asks Hope to remember when they went to New York together and how if she’d choose him, it could be like that all the time. Patrick asks to go back to that time when Hope believed in him because he never stopped loving her.

Police station:

Bo tries to convince Roman and Abe that he had nothing to do with Patrick’s beating. Roman points out that Hope stated that Bo was already angry about Chelsea and how when he found out Patrick had been to see Hope, he took off like a mad man. Abe adds that Bonnie placed Bo at the Lockhart house. Bo admits to being there but insists that he wasn’t the one to beat up Patrick. Shawn walks in and Bo asks for a moment alone with Shawn. Abe and Roman agree to leave. Bo tells Shawn that he’s in trouble both legally and in trouble with Hope. Bo asks Shawn to try and reach Hope for Shawn may be the only chance Bo has.

Garage:

Max and Mimi each use the office’s phones to try and find out more information about “Andrew Spivey.” They are both getting frustrated because anyone they talk to either puts them on hold or tells them to call someplace else. Mimi’s cell phone rings and it is Bonnie calling to tell her that Patrick has been assaulted and she needs to come to the hospital. Mimi explains what happened to Max but turns down his offer to drive her to the hospital. Mimi rushes out as Abby arrives. Max asks Abby to help him find Philip but Abby doesn’t see why Max is bothering to do this.

Chez Rouge:

EJ complains that the Salem PD keep shooting off accusations without proof and suggests that they spend more time investigating. John claims that EJ’s arrogant reaction to the subject was his subtle way of admitting that he was the real guilty party. John leaves the table. EJ reopens his paper but silently fumes.

Hospital:

Hope apologizes for making Patrick feel like she’s pushed him aside but explains that she and Bo have such a longstanding relationship that she has to give it a chance. Patrick claims to understand and asks Hope to consider him a friend to lean on and not public enemy number one. Hope claims that does think of Patrick as a friend. Two nurses come in with Bonnie and ask that Hope leave while they re-tape Patrick’s ribs. Hope turns as she gets up to leave and her face falls when she sees Bonnie’s sad expression. Hope leaves. Bonnie starts to straighten Patrick’s things while the nurses work behind a closed curtain. Bonnie finds the blood stained cash in Patrick’s pants pocket and stuffs the cash in her cleavage.

Police station:

Abe and Roman return to the office now that Shawn has left. They question Bo about why he went over to see Patrick and Bo explains that he went over to tell Patrick to leave Hope alone. Abe and Roman have a hard time believing Bo and mock his story about Patrick framing him for the beating. Abe orders Roman to lock Bo up for his arraignment tomorrow and declares that Bo is now fired from the police force.

Sami’s apartment:

Lucas suggests that after they drive Will to ski camp, they could get a pizza and rent a movie. Sami doesn’t like it when Lucas once again asks to rent ‘The Godfather.’ Lucas jokes that a movie like ‘The Wedding Crashers’ would be more up Sami’s alley. Lucas agrees to let Sami rent whatever chick flick she wants. Sami playfully accuses him of trying to win points. Lucas brushes Sami’s hair away from her neck and lightly kisses her neck as he hints at the movie being a prelude to more interesting entertainment. Lucas and Sami kiss and it turns more passionate as Sami strips off her sweater and they move to the couch.

Hospital:

Shawn finds Hope in the hallway and hugs her. Shawn tells Hope that Bo told him about Patrick being assaulted but insists that Bo is innocent. Hope is hesitant to believe Shawn. Shawn hands Hope a letter from Bo and tells her to read it. Mimi walks up and after exchanging an angry glance with Shawn, politely says hello to Hope before heading into Patrick’s room.

Garage:

Max doesn’t understand why Abby would question his motives. Abby doesn’t understand why Max would take on Mimi’s cause especially when they don’t have proof that Andrew Spivey is Philip. Max wants Abby to be more straightforward so Abby questions whether Max is helping this cause because he’s starting to have feelings for Mimi. Max scoffs.

Sami’s apartment:

Sami and Lucas are still kissing and fooling around on the couch but Sami stops the lovemaking insisting on sticking to their promise of waiting. Sami is also worried that Will could walk in on them. Sami tells Lucas to go downstairs and warm up the car while she repacks Will’s duffel bag. They kiss passionately again but Sami makes Lucas leave so she is no longer tempted.

Garage:

Max complains that another of his calls ended in the other person hanging up. Abby starts to restate her concerns but Max interrupts to insist that she’s wrong. Abby complains that Max is neglecting his job while helping Mimi with this investigation. Max insists that they’ll catch up and lets Abby off the hook for helping. Abby tries to explain that while Belle and Mimi have a right to care, there’s no reason Max should be so concerned. Max insists that he can empathize with Mimi given their recent life troubles and they are simply making up for past mistakes. When Abby persists about Max’s feelings for Mimi, Max starts to question whether Abby doesn’t like Mimi. Abby expresses concern over how much Mimi can be trusted. Max insists that he knows what he’s doing but Abby asks why then has Max not noticed how much Mimi has fallen for him.

Hospital:

The nurses pull back the curtains now that they have changed Patrick’s bandages. Bonnie makes a quick excuse to leave now that Mimi is here. Mimi asks Patrick what really happened and Patrick sticks to his claim that Bo came to the house and beat him up for no reason. Mimi believes that Patrick had it coming.

Hope is hesitating to read the letter. Hope reads the letter and it talks about Bo’s love for Hope, his innocence, and how he needs Hope to believe in him. Shawn asks Hope for what she plans to do.

Police station:

Bo begs for a chance to prove his innocence but Abe doesn’t want to risk embarrassing the department. Roman tries to delay Bo being locked up and John joins them. Abe insists that they must follow procedure this time. John insists that EJ is obviously the guilty party but Abe refuses to hear anymore talk of EJ.

Garage:

Max insists that he and Mimi are just friends but Abby calls him blind. Abby lists all the ways Max has been showing Mimi preferential treatment even when dealing with Shawn. Abby wants Max to recognize that he’s at least leading her on but Max insists that he’s simply being a friend. Abby explains that she’s looking out for Max and wants him to find someone who likes him for him and not for what he can do for the girl. Max asks for suggestions of girls but Abby quickly changes the topic back to making phone calls.

Hospital:

Patrick is offended that Mimi would say he had it coming and insists that he was doing nothing when Bo came in attacking him. Mimi brings up the secret note passing to EJ through Shawn and declares that she doesn’t buy Patrick’s sob story.

Hope tells Shawn that Bo will have to face this alone. Shawn pleads with Hope but Hope feels that she can’t help Bo anymore. Shawn insists that Patrick is lying. Hope decides that she can’t play referee between Patrick and Bo for the next 18 years and tearfully declares herself through with Bo.

Police station:

Roman questions whether Abe is really going to let the threat to sue get in the way of justice but Abe insists that Bo must be held to the three strikes program like everyone else. John insists again that EJ is the one who beat up Patrick. Abe decides to wait and see if John can bring him evidence to back up that theory.

Sami’s apartment:

EJ returns home just as Sami is struggling to get Will’s heavy duffel bag down to the car. He jokes and tries to make small talk but Sami tries to make a quick exit. EJ stops her and Sami insists that she has a right to be upset with him. EJ wants a chance to explain but Sami doesn’t want to hear it. EJ gives Sami a long explanation about how the police were wrongfully accusing him and spying on him and how it made him think everyone was out to get him. EJ apologizes and asks for forgiveness.

Sami admits that she was asked by the police to help spy on EJ. Sami apologizes for getting involved and says she is glad EJ was cleared. Sami adds that after how EJ treated her in her apartment, she doesn’t feel right about associating with him anymore. EJ claims to be disappointed because he figured Sami of all people would understand since she’s also “made a mistake after being betrayed by those she loves.” EJ apologizes again and asks for forgiveness.

Hospital:

Patrick is annoyed that Mimi would even come to visit him if she thinks he got what he deserved. Mimi explains that she came because she was worried that he was into the wrong things. Patrick insists that the things he’s doing with EJ aren’t criminal and simply business ventures. Mimi asks why EJ just doesn’t deal with Kate since she is his business partner but Patrick insists that Kate is more of a manager than someone who does legwork. Patrick groans in pain and claims talking about this with Mimi is making his ribs hurt more. Patrick wants Mimi to leave so he can get some rest. Mimi starts to leave but Patrick asks to be handed his pants so he can check on the money inside the pocket. Patrick discovers the money is gone and immediately blames the nurses. Max calls Mimi’s cell phone to tell her to get down to the garage because they think they have found Philip. Mimi casually ends the call with “love ya” but then realizes what she said after she hangs up.

Garage:

Abby, having listened in on the call, teases Max about Mimi’s goodbye. Abby sees it as a sign that she was right about Mimi liking Max.

Hospital:

Shawn is angry that Hope would toss Bo aside like this and asks her to believe that Bo is truly an honest guy. Hope is still skeptical. Shawn brings up all the past crimes Bo has been accused of but later cleared. Shawn insists that he knows that Patrick isn’t the innocent one. Hope wants to know what Shawn knows but Shawn evades the question. Shawn gets Hope to agree that Bo is a decent honest man who tries to play fair. Shawn begs Hope to listen to Bo’s side of the story.

Police station:

Bo complains that he’s expected to rot in jail until John finds proof. Bo tells Roman to bring Patrick in for questioning but Roman points out that Patrick is in the hospital and Bo’s the one suspected of committing a crime this time. Bo complains that the criminals of the town are the ones getting the royal treatment and warns Abe that if something happens to Bo’s family while the real criminals are free, it’ll be on Abe’s head.

Garage:

Mimi arrives back at the garage and Max and Abby fill Mimi in on what they’ve learned. They were able to find out that Philip was using the alias Andrew Spivey and was sent to Afghanistan. Mimi worries that this means Philip could be dead but Max explains that Philip’s truck was firebombed and while his injuries and burns were extensive, he is still alive. Max has learned that the soldier known as Andrew Spivey was admitted to a hospital in Atlanta. Mimi is anxious to fly to Atlanta to bring Philip home.

Hospital:

Patrick complains to the nurses that his $3,000 is now gone. The nurse places the blame for the lost money on Patrick because he chose not to include the money in the collection of valuables they asked him to secure. Patrick insists that the nurse chose to steal it and demands a confession. Bonnie returns and becomes worried when she sees Patrick holding his pants. Patrick explains that he is confronting the nurses about his missing money but Bonnie sends the nurses out of the room. Bonnie goes along with Patrick’s belief that the nurse stole his money but tells him not to make so much of a fuss offering instead to ask around nonchalantly on his behalf.

Sami’s apartment:

Sami agrees to forgive EJ but EJ picks up on Sami’s lack of sincerity. Sami apologizes for her part and agrees to forgive EJ promising that they’ll be cordial from now on. EJ wants to be more than simply cordial and rather be considered as a friend. Lucas walks up and demands to know what is going on.

Lucas yells at EJ for not listening about staying away from Sami. Sami explains that EJ was only apologizing. EJ claims that Lucas has every right to be angry about his earlier behavior and insists that he was simply apologizing. EJ asks for a clean slate but Lucas quips that he’ll give EJ a clean slate right before hitting him with it. Lucas and Sami leave.

Garage:

Max cautions Mimi against acting too hastily turning down her plans to fly to Atlanta. Max warns that the reports from Atlanta are a couple weeks old and Philip could be somewhere else by now. Mimi begs Max to travel with her on her behalf and Max shares an annoyed glance with Abby. Max sends Abby away to do inventory. Max explains that he can’t progress with Mimi’s plan because they don’t have the money. Mimi decides she knows exactly where to get the money to finance their trip.

Hospital:

Bonnie tells Patrick to get some rest and leave the thieving nurses to her. Patrick doesn’t think Bonnie could have any results up against two qualified nurses but Bonnie insists that she knows everyone from her time as a volunteer. Bonnie promises that once she finds the culprit, Patrick can still call the police if they refuse to give the money back.

Police station:

Hope comes by the station to talk to Bo and Abe grants them a few minutes to talk. Bo steps out into the main office and Abe assigns an officer to keep an eye on him in case Bo decides to leave. Hope jokingly tells Bo that Shawn should have stuck with law school since he almost had her convinced to give Bo another chance. Hope complains that she’s tired of being jerked back and forth. Bo thinks the answer is simple and that Hope should trust only him. Hope declares that she can continue on this adventure with him no longer. Abe declares their time to be up and Hope tearfully tells him she loves him before Abe takes him away. Roman asks Hope to talk Patrick into dropping the charges for Bo’s sake before following Abe.
