Mimi explains that she either forgot to write in a check she made or made an arithmetic error but as of right now, she doesn’t have enough money left for tuition. Shawn tries to suggest other ways of paying for tuition like financial aid or asking Bonnie but Mimi vetoes those suggestions. Mimi fears that she is now screwed but Shawn offers to help her out.

Max is working on a car in the new garage he wants to invest in with his racing winnings. Frankie has come by to check out the place and warns that this could be a bad investment since there are currently no customers. A helmet wearing motorcycle driver pulls into the garage and Max introduces him to Frankie as his first customer. The guy pulls off his helmet and it turns out to be Bo.

Chelsea, with cucumbers slices over her eyes, gets a head massage from Gloriane. Chelsea talks of pampering herself now that she can afford it and Gloriane marvels at the list of treatments Chelsea has signed up for. Gloriane jokes about how Chelsea must have hit the lotto to be able to treat herself to so much and Chelsea says that in a way she did just that.

Hope and Jennifer touch up their makeup as Jennifer thanks Hope once again for treating her to a day at the spa. Jennifer apologizes for not being better company but Hope understands. Jennifer leaves.

Jennifer steps outside with keys in hand and stops to look at her photo keychain of Jack and Abby. Jennifer starts to cry. Hope rushes out of the spa to bring Jennifer the scarf she left but hugs her when she sees that Jennifer is crying. Jennifer asks Hope how she is going to be able to do this.

Jack refuses to put his family through watching him die a slow painful death. Billie wishes there were some other way. Jack insists that this is the only way and if Billie won’t help, he’ll disappear and do it all by himself.

Billie tries again to change Jack’s mind by claiming that if Jennifer isn’t given the chance to say a proper goodbye, she’ll never forgive him for as long as she lives.

Spa:

Jennifer remarks that she should be prepared for dealing with Jack’s death since she’s been through it twice now. Jennifer wants answers as to why these things keep happening to her family and wishes she could do something to stop it. Hope tells her that they can pray for a miracle. Jennifer knows that it will take more than prayer to stop the disease and is determined to research and learn as much as she can about possible experimental treatments. Jennifer refuses to give up as long as Jack has breath in his body. Hope tells her to believe that anything is possible. Jennifer assures Hope that she is okay to drive and leaves.

Gloriane removes the cucumber slices from Chelsea’s eyes and realizes that Chelsea is crying. Chelsea explains that she was thinking about how she planned to come here with her mom for her mom’s birthday but then that never happened because she died. Gloriane tells Chelsea that her mom is up in heaven smiling down at her and would be proud that she was able to pick herself up and come enjoy this day. Chelsea jokes about her mom would consider this to be too extravagant. Gloriane replies that everyone needs a little spoiling now and again. Gloriane leaves Chelsea alone to relax. Chelsea lies back and stares at the wall. Hope walks in and greets Chelsea with the desire to have a little chat.

Mimi’s loft:

Mimi thanks Shawn for wanting to help her but knowing his current financial earnings, points out that he can’t afford her tuition either. Shawn agrees but counters with the idea of using his trust fund.

Frankie is shocked that Bo would be Max’s first customer. Max explains that Bo called to ask for a tune up on his bike. Bo jokes about not getting the Brady rate but agrees to pay full price if Max does good work. Max assures Bo that he will do good work and hopes that Bo will in turn then tell all of his biker buddies who will pass on the word to their friends. Frankie suggests that Max hire another mechanic to run the place while Max is out on the circuit. Max claims not to know anyone that trustworthy. Bo suggests that Max hire Shawn and Max agrees to talk to Shawn. Bo turns Max’s attention to his bike and after looking it over, Max decides that it needs specialty parts that he’d need Bo to pay half for upfront in cash. Bo flashes back to giving away his last wad of cash to Chelsea. Bo admits to Max that he doesn’t have any cash on him. Max decides to cut Bo a break. Frankie steps into Max’s office to make a private call. Bo uses the opportunity to speak to Max alone about his relationship with Chelsea.

Bo is concerned about Max’s reputation as a ladies’ man but Max assures him that he understands where Chelsea is coming from and that they are taking things slow. Max gives Bo his word that he won’t take advantage of Chelsea. Bo warns that if anyone hurts Chelsea, they’ll have to deal with him.

Chelsea claims that she isn’t the one preventing that. Hope secretly rolls her eyes as she looks over Chelsea’s growing bill and assumes that Billie or Kate must be picking up the tab. Chelsea claims she needed to splurge. Hope agrees with the need to splurge but warns that it’s still a lot to be spending and uses her own example of having to scrimp and save with Bo to even be able to send Shawn to college now. Chelsea rudely asks for Hope to get to the point. Hope explains that by spending all her money at Gloriane’s, Chelsea isn’t going to be able to put it towards college. Chelsea accuses Hope of not wanting her to spend the money simply because it would mean that Bo would have to kick in and help pay for college. Chelsea accuses Hope of not wanting Bo to spend any money on her.

Jack now regrets ever telling Billie about his plan. Billie begs Jack not to hate her but insists that she has to break her word for the good of Jack’s family. Jack casually asks about Jennifer’s time at the spa but Jennifer can tell that something is wrong. Jack claims that nothing happened while she was gone but Jennifer doesn’t believe him until Billie corroborates his claim that they were merely talking and reminiscing. Jennifer apologizes for the accusation and explains that since Jack lied about his illness, she still gets the feeling that he’s keeping something from her. Jack insists that he is not keeping anything from Jennifer. Jennifer starts to leave Jack and Billie alone to continue their talk but Billie mentions having to leave because she’s decided to help Victor by returning to Countess Wilhelmina to do consulting work so that she can be around for Chelsea. Jennifer asks about Chelsea and Billie is confident that they are making progress.

Jack walks Billie out and as he does, to consider his request to not say anything to anyone about his plan as his dying wish. Billie tearfully promises not to say anything to Jennifer. Jack hugs her in gratitude. Billie tries again to get Jack to change his mind but he refuses and Billie leaves.

Jack returns to Jennifer and Jennifer asks about how Billie seemed upset. Jack agrees and Jennifer assumes that it was because of Chelsea. Jennifer pulls out items from a large paper bag and when Jack inquires, she explains that she stopped off at the hospital on the way home and after doing some research, has found a way to beat Jack’s disease.

They decide that they are lucky to have each other but both reluctantly concur that they are just friends. Mimi and Shawn kiss. Mimi rushes out right away to go look for another job. Frankie comes back out of the office and congratulates Max on his new gig. Frankie admits to overhearing Bo’s talk with Max about Chelsea. Max assures Frankie that he and Chelsea are taking things slow. Frankie is hesitant to believe Max because he has a tendency to get worked up and take things too far.

Billie walks up and vouches for Mimi. Gloriane considers Billie’s word enough for her. Gloriane explains that she’s known Billie for a while because Billie helped her create her most successful product line. Gloriane declares that Mimi has the job and Mimi enthusiastically thanks Gloriane and Billie.

Hope insists that if Chelsea does need money for college, she and Bo will gladly help out. Hope continues to claim that Billie or Kate gave Chelsea the money for today in hopes of hearing a confirmation or correction as she suggests that Chelsea should put a little of what’s leftover aside to save or donate to charity. Chelsea reminds Hope that she just helped Abby with her fundraiser. Hope commends Chelsea on her work and uses Abby’s example of raising money for kids in Africa to describe how good it feels to give back. Chelsea forks over $10 for the cause and challenges Hope to make a donation. Hope promises to write a check. Chelsea doesn’t believe Hope really intends to get to know her and is only being nice because Bo told her to. Hope invites Chelsea over for dinner to get know to Shawn and Zach and make an effort. Chelsea complains that Hope is so full of advice; she’s acting more like her mom than her step mom. Chelsea warns that as long as Billie is around, Hope better watch her back. Chelsea leaves.

Deveraux house:

Jennifer explains that by using the medical library computer, she has discovered that by using the right diet and proper combination of vitamins and herbs could slow down the disease possibly indefinitely. Jack starts to protest but Jennifer continues to gush about having stopped at the health food store on the way home and picked up everything they listed. Jennifer recites how in six to eight weeks Jack can see results if he starts right away. Jack doesn’t think he has six to eight weeks left. Jennifer insists that he does and rushes over to the computer to bring up the same information she had been looking at at the hospital. Jack tries to stop her but Jennifer heads to the computer anyway and is angry with Jack over what she’s found.

Billie mentions an idea for new packaging and an ad campaign as well as a budget friendly line of skin care products. Hope walks up and greets them. Gloriane steps away to check on a client. Hope assumes that Billie is here to pick up Chelsea but Billie is surprised that Chelsea is even here. Billie asks what Chelsea is getting done and Hope says that she is getting everything done. Hope realizes that Bo’s original money wouldn’t have lasted her this long and starts to suggest that Billie or Kate gave Chelsea more money. Billie insists that she didn’t give Chelsea any cash and made Kate promise not to give anymore either. Hope describes the wad of cash that Chelsea pulled out of her purse but Billie is hesitant to confront Chelsea about it. Hope advises Billie not to back down as a parent simply because she’s afraid that her child will get mad. Billie agrees that she must figure out a way to handle this before Chelsea gets into any real trouble.

Chelsea admires a top on the clothing rack and the saleslady compliments how it would look on her. Chelsea complains about not being able to afford it and the saleslady suggests that she charge it. Chelsea admits to not having a credit card but offers to give a postdated check that she’s sure Bo will cover.

Shawn’s loft:

Shawn inquires about the job Bo mentioned. Bo tells him about Max opening up a garage and how he recommended Shawn for the job as a mechanic. Shawn likes the idea. Bo mentions how it would work well for Shawn’s plans to also go to school at the same time and Shawn chooses that moment to announce that he doesn’t plan on going back to school. Bo scoffs at the declaration and tries to instill in Shawn that you can’t get a decent job these days without a degree. Shawn points out that Hope and Bo are doing fine without degrees but Bo says they want better for him. Shawn thinks he’s ready to start his life with the couple years of college he already has completed. Bo laments about how Hope isn’t going to like this news and reminds Shawn that he had planned to become a lawyer. Shawn claims that he now doesn’t want to sit behind a desk and insists that college isn’t for everyone. Bo resigns to the fact that Shawn is an adult and can make his own decisions but asks Shawn to think about it some more. Shawn insists that he has thought about it and won’t be going back to school.

Garage:

Max assures Frankie that he is not going to go too far with Chelsea. Frankie is still concerned given Max’s past of not being able to control himself. Max becomes angry and yells that he is in control and doesn’t need to be worried about.

Hope asks about Mimi’s job at Alice’s and Mimi explains that she’s working both jobs now. Hope fears that working two jobs will impact Mimi’s schoolwork and Mimi explains that she had to take time off from school to save up more money. Hope wishes there was some other way to pay for college because people who leave don’t go back. Mimi insists she’ll be going right back next semester. Gloriane walks up and tells Mimi to share that train of thought with her roommate because otherwise he’ll regret quitting college. Hope demands to know more since she knows Mimi’s roommate means her son Shawn. Gloriane apologizes for blabbing and steps away. Hope demands that Mimi explain but Mimi wants to stay out of it. Hope vows that Shawn is going back to Salem U if she has anything to say about it.

Shawn’s loft:

Bo reluctantly decides that he must still support Shawn. Shawn asks Bo to lend him some money in hopes of being able to pay him back once the job with Max works out. Bo admits to not having a lot of cash right now and offers to have Shawn stop by the house later for it. Shawn decides it isn’t worth having Hope thinking that he’s broke. Bo promises to try and smooth things over with Hope even though it won’t be easy. Shawn apologizes for being a disappointment. Bo insists that Shawn isn’t a disappointment and had only hoped that Shawn would become a lawyer so he could support Bo in his old age. Bo says he’s proud that Shawn had the guts to follow his own heart. Shawn insists that he’s happy but hopes that Hope sees it that way.

Deveraux house:

Jack holds up the plug from the computer and Jennifer doesn’t understand why he would have unplugged it. Jack flashes back to looking at the suicide site. Jack claims unplugging the computer was the only way to make Jennifer stop and listen to what he has to say. Jennifer still wants Jack to check out the research on holistic treatments. Jack agrees to do whatever Jennifer says as long as she understands that this disease is irreversible. Jennifer refuses to give up. Jack insists that Jennifer accept the fact that he is going to die. Jennifer asks Jack to promise that when the time comes, he’ll let her be there with him. They wrap their arms around each other.
