Sami’s apartment:

Nicole and Lucas fully step into the apartment as Nicole confronts Lucas about his earlier comment. Lucas tells Austin that he might as well file for bankruptcy now because his business is doomed. Austin remains calm as he acknowledges that Lucas is upset over this because he is now working with Lucas’ ex-wife and ex-fiancé. Lucas points out that Sami is also Austin’s ex-wife and he also used to be involved with Nicole. Austin claims that it can work because the three of them have the right attitude and are hungry enough. Lucas warns Austin that he tried to work with Sami and Nicole too and got burned. Lucas adds that when the same thing happens to Austin, he’ll be down the hall laughing his butt off. Lucas waves goodbye and heads back to his apartment. Nicole yells after him to go to hell and slams the door behind him. Nicole and Sami agree that Lucas is bitter and blames everyone but himself. They look over and realize that Austin doesn’t look happy and ask for his thoughts. Austin now doubts that he made the right decision.

Spa:

Hope spots Chelsea handing over the wad of Bo’s cash to pay for the most expensive spa treatments. The female spa worker leads Chelsea to her first treatment. Hope stares off in the direction that Chelsea went and seems oblivious to Jennifer walking up and thanking her for the massage. Jennifer persists until Hope finally admits that she’s upset over finding out that Bo and Billie’s daughter is someone she doesn’t really like. Jennifer isn’t surprised to hear that Chelsea has done something wrong once again and Hope tells her about spotting Chelsea forking over cash for the most expensive spa treatment. Hope immediately knows where Chelsea was able to get the money.

Deveraux house:

Billie tries to talk Jack out of committing suicide. Jack insists that rather than leaving his time of death up to a higher power, he’s going to take control and decide when, where, and how all on his own. Jack insists that Billie is going to help him.

Spa:

Jennifer tries to suggest that it wasn’t Chelsea they saw but Hope knows that isn’t true. Hope explains how expensive the package Chelsea paid for was by pointing out that it’s something she’s never ordered for herself. Jennifer suggests that Chelsea saved her money. Hope reminds Jennifer how Chelsea just hit Bo up for $250 and even if she had saved some of that, she couldn’t have afforded this treatment. Jennifer suggests that Billie gave Chelsea the money but Hope negates that idea right away because of her talk where Billie vowed to teach Chelsea the value of money. Jennifer suggests that Kate or Caroline doted on Chelsea and uses the phrase “a little here, a little there.” Hope doesn’t think it was right either way to blow it all at a day spa. Hope notices that Jennifer is suddenly mentally somewhere else and Jennifer recalls talking to her father Bill the other week and hearing about how he is working in the slums in Soweto. Hope offers to help and Jennifer explains that her comment about a little here, a little there made her think about how if they all gave a little it would really help. Jennifer suggests that Chelsea doesn’t see how the rest of the world isn’t as well off as her. Hope laments that if Chelsea knew, she still wouldn’t give a damn.

Deveraux house:

Billie continues to try and talk Jack out of his decision but Jack remains steadfast and insists that he is thinking completely and rationally. Billie tries to get Jack to see that by doing this; he will break the hearts of his loved ones. Jack prefers to see it as sparing those hearts as much pain as possible. Billie insists that most everyone prefers to have that extra time to spend with his or her families for it’s the sudden shock of loss that’s the most traumatic. Jack still sticks to his decision. Billie calls Jack a coward.

Java café:

Lucas meets Maggie for coffee. They make small talk about how Maggie is the only woman in Lucas’ life who hasn’t let him down but then Lucas vows to focus more on his new job and doing well. Maggie gives Lucas a gift that says, “Believe in yourself” and Lucas agrees to Maggie’s request of keeping it on his desk and looking at it once a day. Maggie adds that Victor believes in Lucas and tells Lucas not to dwell on the fact that Victor only asked him because Austin turned it down when Lucas brings up that fact. Lucas agrees with Maggie that he must make the most of the opportunity especially since Victor is going to watch him like a hawk since Brady and Nicole did wonders for Titan while they worked together. Maggie is confident that Lucas is going to be the one to pull Titan out of its business slump. Maggie laughs as Lucas calls her on the fact that as his A.A. sponsor; she’s purposefully building him up. Lucas laments that it’s tough to overcome people’s wariness of him since he worked for Tony but then resumes talk of believing in himself and making the most of the opportunity. Maggie offers him the chance to call her if he ever has a moment of self-doubt. Lucas admits that today would be easier to deal with if he had a glass of scotch in his hand.

Sami’s apartment:

Nicole tells Austin not to change his mind simply because of Lucas’ comments and claims that Lucas only said those things because Sami betrayed him. Sami blames Nicole and claims that Lucas’ whole life would have been different had Nicole not driven him to drink. Nicole calls Sami Stan which angers her but Nicole continues to delight in taunting Sami. Austin stops their argument to point out that they are proving Lucas’ point. Sami insists she can work with anyone and uses working for John and Kate as an example. Nicole corrects Sami by claiming that Sami will not be working with her but for her and the Titan bottom line is proof that she can work with anyone. Sami complains to Austin that she won’t be reporting only to him. Nicole insults Sami by pointing out that she doesn’t even have a high school diploma. Sami complains to Austin about how Nicole is talking to her but Austin only replies that Nicole is only speaking the truth for she has the experience and Sami doesn’t.

Spa:

Hope notes how, while they are here doing the same thing as Chelsea, it’s different because today is a special out of the ordinary day for them. Hope asks how she can get Chelsea to understand that no amount of money or material things is going to take away the pain of losing her parents. Jennifer isn’t so sure that Chelsea really only cares about herself. Hope tries to put Abby in Chelsea’s shoes but can only recall Abby thinking of others. Jennifer claims that Abby has a different view of the world after growing up working with Bill in Africa’s clinics. Jennifer tells Hope of how Abby is using a container to store a little money that she gets here and there to save enough to send to Africa for Christmas. Hope fears that Bo and Billie will make up for missing out on Chelsea’s childhood by overindulging her. Hope agrees that Bo should support his daughter but becomes angry at the thought that Chelsea could be lying to Bo and asking for money when she doesn’t really need it. Jennifer says she doesn’t blame Hope for that.

Chelsea is now dressed in a robe and lying on a bed as one spa worker tends to her face and another tends to her feet. The lady working on Chelsea’s feet offers to use a custom color for her toenails but warns that it costs extra. Chelsea readily agrees to the added expense claiming that it’s okay to spoil oneself every now and then. Chelsea flashes back to conning Bo out of the money. Chelsea relishes in the present moment as she thinks that there’s plenty more money where this came from.

Deveraux house:

Jack takes offense at being called a coward. Billie reminds Jack of his wedding vows and his responsibility to Jennifer. Jack insists that Billie can’t speak of him not living up to his vows until she’s in his shoes. Jack insists that he is protecting Jennifer and his family from watching him die a slow painful death. Jack goes on to say that he found the perfect way to die on the computer but needs someone like Billie who is in the ISA and can help him make it not look like a suicide. Billie points out that the insurance company won’t pay if they find out that Jack committed suicide. Jack is confident that his plan will prevent the insurance company from ever finding out. Jack yells at Billie for feeling sorry for him and insists that he’s past all that and must now concentrate on taking care of his family. Billie continues to try to talk Jack out of his plan. Jack insists that it’s his life and his death and therefore his decision. Billie, with tears in her eyes, retorts that it’s her conscience and her decision on whether to help and decides that she won’t help Jack kill himself. Billie storms out.

Java café:

Maggie is taken aback by Lucas’ admonition that he wishes he had a drink right now. Lucas apologizes but insists that that is how he feels. A café worker comes and takes their orders. Maggie confesses that she had to force herself to walk past a lot of liquor stores when Bonnie was with Mickey. Lucas agrees that Bonnie would drive anyone to drink. Maggie asks about how Lucas is dealing with Sami and Will and Lucas adamantly insists that Sami is out of his and Will’s life for good. Maggie isn’t so sure and asks Lucas if there is still a part of him that loves Sami.

Sami’s apartment:

Sami fires back at Nicole by pointing out that she doesn’t have a college diploma either. Nicole points out that she called Sami on not having even a high school diploma. Sami claims that a lot of high school dropouts are successful and Nicole demands an example. Austin uses his fingers to whistle loud enough to hurt Sami and Nicole’s ears. Austin threatens to rethink his decision to hire either of them if they can’t work together. Sami wants to know why Austin is even hiring them if he doesn’t believe in them. Austin thinks that Sami and Nicole’s competitive natures will work in his favor and by giving everyone stock and profit sharing it will motivate them to make lots of money. Nicole fantasizes about slipping green food coloring into Sami’s shampoo during a hair salon visit. Sami fantasizes about slipping a substance into Nicole’s mud mask that when hardened becomes a permanent part of Nicole’s face. Mickey calls Austin’s cell phone and Austin steps away to take the call. Sami insists to Nicole that she had a good reason for dropping out of high school and is good at marketing and promotion. Nicole claims that Sami is only good at promoting herself whereas she is good at providing service to her customers. Sami laughs at how that sounds given Nicole’s past and Nicole pushes Sami across the room to talk more privately. Nicole starts to threaten Sami for continually throwing her past in her face and Sami finishes her sentence by pointing out that having her own past thrown in her face is a mute point since Nicole does that already. Nicole tells Sami not to get her hopes up about impressing Austin because she’s already got that territory staked out. Sami gloats about how she’ll get to spend more time with Austin because he’ll be living with her. Nicole questions whether Sami still loves Lucas and Sami claims that while she still does, she must move on because Lucas already has. Nicole pretends to be sad for Sami that Lucas got over her so quickly and Sami fires back by claiming that Nicole hurt Eric so bad he had to leave town and never come back. Nicole points out that Lucas at least went through with marrying her but Sami reminds her that it was only after Kate paid her $5 million. Sami lists how Nicole tried to kill Colin and Victor and was even capable of harming Chloe to keep Brady. Nicole becomes upset at the mention of Brady and how Sami never helped her. Sami threatens to tell the town about Nicole’s part in Chloe’s infection if she presses her buttons. Sami spots Austin heading back over to them as he finishes his call and taps Nicole to get her to go along with a fake laugh to give off the impression that they are getting along.

Spa:

The spa staff continues to work on Chelsea. She asks to buy a bottle of the facemask they used on her and has no reservation about forking over the $50 per bottle. The two women who are each working on one of Chelsea’s hands at the moment smile at each other.

Jennifer suggests that Bo gave Chelsea the money but Hope doesn’t think Bo would have done that after their last talk. Hope notes how it’s hard for Bo to treat Chelsea the same as they treated Shawn because Bo feels guilty for missing Chelsea’s childhood. Jennifer asks if Bo realizes that even if he says no once in a while, it doesn’t mean Chelsea will pull back from him. Hope insists that Chelsea is making the most of it by playing one parent against the other. Jennifer wishes that this bad situation was over for Hope, Bo, and Billie and Hope echoes the sentiment.

Chelsea looks at the nail polish color being applied to her hands and complains that it’s too dull. Chelsea asks what color Mischa Barton is wearing these days. When neither staff member answers, Chelsea rudely orders them to go get a magazine and find out.

Deveraux house:

Jack joins Billie, who had merely returned to the living room, and begs for Billie’s help in his plan. Billie tries again to convince Jack to change his mind by pointing out that he is having conflicting feelings by his desire to hide it. Jack, his patience growing thin, points out that hiding it is the entire point of his plan. Billie insists that Jennifer at the very least would want to be there with Jack for every moment. Jack doesn’t want to have Jennifer stuck by his side not living because she’s taking care of his dying body. Jack wants Billie to promise that she’ll help Jennifer move on with her life after a suitable mourning period. Billie wants Jack to hang on in hopes of a breakthrough but Jack doesn’t believe that there will ever be a breakthrough cure for him. Jack complains that Billie is making this harder than it has to be and lists the negative and semi-positive sides of each aspect of him dying so soon. Jack lets the tears fall as he concludes by insisting that he wants Jennifer to remarry and be happy. Billie asks Jack to do Jennifer the favor of not committing suicide but Jack insists he’s doing this with or without Billie. Billie declares that she won’t be a party to something she doesn’t believe in. Billie tries to convince Jack to tell Jennifer of his plan and Jack’s reply that Jennifer would be the one person who could talk him out of it prompts Billie to call Jennifer.

Java café:

The waiter brings Maggie and Lucas their coffee orders. Lucas insists to Maggie that this coffee is the most potent liquid he’s had in a while. Lucas also insists that he is not in love with Sami anymore and can’t believe that he almost tied his life to Sami’s forever. Maggie points out that Sami and Lucas’ lives are already tied together because of Will. Lucas points out that Will wants nothing to do with Sami and while he wants his parents to be together, since his mother is Sami, that is never going to happen. Maggie is still skeptical that Lucas is over Sami. Lucas finally admits that he still loves Sami and orders another coffee. Maggie advises Lucas to be honest with himself. Lucas considers the idea of getting back with Sami to be absurd and proclaims that he’d go back to drinking before going back to Sami for drinking would be a more pleasurable way of killing himself.

Sami’s apartment:

Sami, helping herself to a soda, claims that while Austin was on the phone, she and Nicole had a talk and have decided that she can be more humble. Austin laughs. Sami claims that she’s serious and is now fine with working for Nicole since it is what is best for their company. Nicole rolls her eyes behind Austin’s back as she listens to Sami’s claims. Austin asks Nicole for her take and she agrees that she can work with Sami. Austin warns not to expect a lot in their pay envelopes in the beginning because he is going to start off conservative. Sami is fine with that since her expenses in rent will be less with Austin moving in. Nicole complains that that doesn’t work well for her because she can’t move into a new apartment without more money. Austin asks about the settlement from Victor and Nicole tells him how Victor plans to leave her with nothing. Austin’s suggestion of having Nicole move in with him and Sami makes Sami spit out the sip of soda she had just drank.

Java café:

Maggie and Lucas make a deal not to talk about each other’s blonde enemies. Lucas thanks Maggie for meeting him this morning because a little tough love is what he needed. Lucas proclaims that today and from now on, it’s all about the job. Maggie and Lucas high five each other.

Sami’s apartment:

Sami is immediately against the idea of Nicole moving in. Nicole is immediately all for the idea and gushes about how great it would be to get in extra hours since they didn’t have to worry about getting home. Nicole enthusiastically accepts Austin’s offer. Sami clears her throat to point out that this is her apartment. Austin apologizes for not asking Sami first but explains that he assumed it would be okay since Nicole and Sami just professed to get along. Sami claims that doing so 24 hours a day is too much to ask. Austin questions whether they were only doing that as an act for his benefit and to save face, Sami reluctantly agrees to let Nicole move in. Austin wraps an arm around each Nicole and Sami and pulls them close to him as he delights in the new arrangement. Sami smiles at Austin but glares at Nicole as she mentally vows to make Nicole pay. Nicole smiles at Sami as she mentally delights in the prospect of having 12 more hours a day to get her hooks into Austin. Austin kisses each of their foreheads.

Spa:

The two staff members have now redone Chelsea’s manicure so that she is happy with the color. Chelsea doles out a large cash tip for each staff member and once they see the amount, they don huge smiles and share their wish that Chelsea will come back soon. Chelsea insists she always pays for extra special attention and leaves for her next treatment.

Jennifer and Hope finish with their last treatment and Jennifer starts to say goodbye to Hope. Jennifer is hopeful that Jack will notice and asks if Hope is leaving with her but Hope wants to stay and talk with Chelsea. Jennifer cautions that if Hope is too tough on Chelsea, she’ll run straight to Bo and that’ll put him in a tough spot. Hope tells Jennifer not to worry for all she’s going to do is make sure Chelsea isn’t taking advantage of Bo.

Deveraux house:

Jack tries to wrestle the phone out of Billie’s hands but gives up when Billie refuses to let go. Jack tells Billie that if she values her life she best not say anything to Jennifer about his plan. Billie asks if that is a threat and Jack says he’s a desperate man insinuating that he’d be willing to do anything. Billie says she understands but her heart won’t let her agree to it. Jack is furious that Billie is breaking her promise now. Billie claims she only promised that before she knew what Jack was planning and now she is going to call Jennifer for Jack’s own good.
