Deveraux house:

Jack and Jennifer are asleep in their bed. Abby quietly enters the room and stares at them for a few moments. Jennifer wakes up and doesn’t say a word as she looks at Abby and then over at the still sleeping Jack. Jennifer slips out of bed to go over to Abby and Jack starts to wake up unbeknownst to Jennifer or Abby. Jennifer, in whispers, asks Abby what she is doing and Abby explains that she had to make sure Jack was okay and had made it through the night. Jennifer looks at Abby with tears in her eyes as Jack eavesdrops and fights back his own tears.

Lockhart house:

Billie is enjoying a cup of coffee when Chelsea walks in. Chelsea explains that she couldn’t sleep because she kept thinking about Abby and Jack. Billie tries to be consoling by bringing up how it reminds Chelsea of losing her own parents but Chelsea declares that knowing Bo and Billie are her biological parents make the issue even worse. Billie notes Chelsea’s sexy and midriff revealing pajamas and asks how she was able to afford them. Chelsea claims they were on sale but Billie presses the issue. Chelsea sarcastically replies that she followed the family tradition and went down to Salem Boulevard to turn some tricks for the cash. Chelsea brings up how Billie complained about her dress being cut too low the other night and Billie maintains that the dress was inappropriate for a girl Chelsea’s age and adds that the pajamas are inappropriate too considering they live with Patrick. Billie insists that Chelsea go put on a robe but as Chelsea reluctantly turns to do so, Patrick walks in. Patrick asks Chelsea how she is doing and she replies that she’s as good as can be considering what happened last night. Billie wants to know what happened last night and Chelsea tells her about Bo picking a fight with Patrick. Billie asks Patrick why he and Bo got into a fight but before he can answer, she asks Chelsea what she did to upset Bo.

Brady house:

Bo comes downstairs as Hope is ordering a reluctant Zach to go back into the kitchen and finish his cereal. Bo waits to say anything until Zach finally leaves the room and then accuses Hope of taking out her anger on Zach. Hope claims that Bo is the one with the anger management problem and complains that this happens every time Bo sees Patrick. Bo points out that every time he sees Patrick, he’s got his hands on Chelsea. Hope offers the theory that Chelsea wants Bo to think that Patrick is the one coming on to her. Bo, having only walked up as Chelsea was saying, “that’s not okay” assumes that Chelsea was turning down Patrick’s advances. Hope points out that Patrick could have been hugging Chelsea and saying, “it’s okay” in his attempt to comfort her. Bo refuses to believe that there could be any other scenario. Hope asks Bo why he didn’t ask Chelsea which she meant but then takes back her question as she sarcastically retorts that Bo would rather bump chests with Patrick than talk it over. Bo flashes back to last night when he was preparing to fight Patrick when Hope walks up and yells at him to stop. Bo insists that he was protecting Chelsea but Hope insists that Patrick wasn’t harming Chelsea. Hope warns that if Bo keeps this up, he’ll push Chelsea right into Patrick’s arms.

Kate’s suite & Lucas’ apartment:

Kate decides that it’s worth calling Lucas to wish him luck despite knowing that he’ll be insulting to her. Sophie answers the phone, which surprises Kate. Kate asks for Lucas just as Lucas comes out of the bedroom and Sophie hands over the phone. Once Lucas takes the phone, Kate congratulates him for finally moving on from Sami.

Sami’s apartment:

Austin is using the paper and Sami’s laptop as Sami comes out of the bedroom. Austin explains that he’s checking out real estate to find an apartment here in Salem. Sami is thrilled at the news. Austin is shocked by Sami’s offer to have him stay here with her.

Kate’s suite & Lucas’ apartment:

Lucas is enraged by Kate’s assumption that he’s moved on so quickly. Kate explains that she made that assumption because Sophie answered his phone first thing in the morning. Lucas claims that that is none of Kate’s business and demands to know why she is calling him. Kate asks if he plans to let Sami win which Lucas doesn’t understand. Lucas claims that Kate has ruined all their lives because right now they could have been living as a family. Kate claims that she saved Lucas from years of misery. Lucas yells at Kate about staying out of his life for good. Kate finally gets around to explaining that she called to wish Lucas good luck with his new job but then takes the phone from her ear as she realizes that Lucas has hung up on her. Kate curses and blames Sami for making her lose Lucas. Kate vows not to lose Austin to Sami as well.

Sami’s apartment:

Austin thinks Sami expects him to spend every night for eternity on her couch. Sami points out that her apartment has three bedrooms. Austin vetoes the idea by pointing out that the bedrooms besides Sami’s are for Will and full of junk. Sami insists she’ll clean out the junk but Austin still turns her down for fear of people thinking they were involved. Sami claims she doesn’t care what people think and would consider this as two friends who’ve decided to live together as roommates. Sami lists how she’s lonely without Will, how Austin moving in would help with the rent and then asks Austin to think about it. Austin is still against the idea. Sami asks why Austin decided to stay in Salem and Austin ominously declares that his future is here.

Lockhart house:

Billie demands an answer from either Patrick or Chelsea. Patrick explains that Bo ran into him comforting Chelsea at the pier. Billie asks Chelsea why she needed comforting “this time” and Chelsea takes offense at the way Billie phrased her question. Patrick goes on to explain that Chelsea was upset over Abby and Jack and how Bo misinterpreted the situation and picked a fight with him. Chelsea adds that there would have been an even bigger fight had Hope not shown up and talked to Bo about how stupid he was. Billie takes offense at Chelsea’s insulting words in reference to Bo. Billie blames Chelsea for purposefully throwing herself into Patrick’s arms. Chelsea claims that Billie is only jealous because she doesn’t feel comfortable coming to her to talk and adds that she won’t ever do so because to Billie and Bo everything is her fault and she can’t do anything right. Billie denies it but Chelsea calls her on the fact that she didn’t care about her until now when she is insisting on being the world’s greatest mother but instead is only making her life miserable.

Brady house:

Bo and Hope return to the living room from the kitchen. Bo is angry at the idea that Chelsea is around Patrick but Hope points out that they are even more around each other because they live together and Bo must get used to that. Hope thinks Bo should be grateful that Patrick is giving Chelsea a roof over her head but Bo complains that he’s the one who should be doing that. Hope starts to agree while she thinks that Bo’s motives are because Patrick is stepping on his toes as a father to Chelsea but Bo insists that it’s because Patrick is taking advantage of Chelsea. Bo insists that he walked up on Chelsea fighting Patrick off last night. Hope points out that Chelsea wasn’t grateful to see Bo and readily accusing Patrick of attacking her but instead looked pissed off that Bo was interfering. Bo scoffs at the suggestion but asks Hope for her take on what was going on. Hope insists it was nothing romantic and reminds Bo that Chelsea was very upset over Abby and Jack. Bo complains that Patrick has a knack for always showing up at the right time. Hope moves over to sit face to face with Bo and tells him that he should concentrate on the positive and be proud of Chelsea for being there for Abby when most of the time she’s a self-centered individual. They both claim the other was wrong but Hope decides that she doesn’t want to argue with Bo because their problems are nowhere near the magnitude that Jack and Jennifer are facing. Hope climbs into Bo’s lap and they kiss and snuggle.

Deveraux house:

Jack lies awake but still so as to make Jennifer and Abby think he is still asleep. Abby admits to Jennifer that this is the fourth time she’s come in to make sure Jack is still alive since last night. Abby flashes back to coming in and leaning over Jack to watch him take a breath and then refraining from touching him when she couldn’t see him breathe so as not to wake him up. Abby relays the moment to Jennifer as she remembers it. Jennifer assures Abby that Lexie said Jack has months to live and not just days or hours. Abby isn’t sure what to believe. Jack continues to fight back his tears as he listens to Abby tell Jennifer about how while she got to know Jack as she grew up, Jack Jr. will not remember him. Abby apologizes to Jennifer for her ill-intentioned actions toward her and assures Jennifer that she and Jack Jr. can count on her. Jennifer thanks her and hugs her. Jack, unable to hold back the tears any longer, is forced to admit that he’s awake. Abby rushes to his side and apologizes for her reaction. Jack apologizes for not telling Abby sooner. Abby promises not to bother him any more and tells him to go back to sleep for she will have breakfast waiting for him. Abby leaves to get Jack Jr. Jack asks Jennifer about what Abby said before and Jennifer now realizes that Jack has been awake the whole time. Jennifer apologizes for how it must have hurt Jack to hear that but Jack says it proved that he’s always known Horton women to be the strongest and most caring mother and daughter any man could ever ask for. Jennifer starts to cry again and hugs Jack as she asks what they are going to do without him. Jennifer is surprised when Jack readily replies that he’s got it all worked out. Jennifer demands to know what Jack is planning.

Brady house:

Hope and Bo agree that they are grateful to have each other. Hope suggests doing something for Jennifer to lift her spirits and then asks Bo if he’s okay with her stretching the budget. Bo adopts a carefree attitude about it and commends Hope on her desire to do something for Jennifer. Hope declares that she knows exactly what she’s going to do.

Lockhart house:

Patrick decides to give Chelsea and Billie some privacy and leaves. Billie insists that she is not doing anything purposefully to make Chelsea’s life miserable and adds that she and Bo only want what’s best for her. Chelsea claims that she’s grown up and knows what she wants but every time she goes after it, Billie is standing in her way making sure she doesn’t get it and storms out.

Lockhart house & Kate’s suite:

Once around the corner, Chelsea calls Kate. Once Kate responds to Chelsea calling in a happy manner, Chelsea turns up the charm and flatters Kate. Chelsea asks Kate to come over and Kate promises to be there in a few minutes.

Lockhart house:

Chelsea ends the call just as Billie walks up and asks whom she was talking to. Chelsea becomes offended and yells at Billie about not respecting her privacy. Billie claims she wasn’t demanding to know but was only being curious. Chelsea asks if curious is the same as being nosy and Billie starts to walk away rather than argue. Chelsea calls her back to admit that she called Kate to come over so she can ask for an advance on her Basic Black salary to pay for new work clothes. Billie wants to know why Chelsea needs new clothes when Kate just bought her a bunch of clothes. Chelsea claims those clothes are too formal for work and she needed clothes that are for colder weather. Billie asks why Chelsea didn’t just come to her and Chelsea retorts that Billie would hold it over her forever and she doesn’t want to ever owe Billie anything.

Lucas’ apartment:

Sophie comes out of the bathroom fresh from the shower with only a towel wrapped around her body. Lucas calls out to offer her some coffee but quickly hides his reaction to seeing Sophie walk past him in a towel as she searches for her purse. Sophie finds her purse and Lucas hands her a cup of coffee. Sophie admits to overhearing Lucas talking in his sleep about Sami.

Sami’s apartment:

Austin comes out of the bathroom now dressed for the day and Sami questions him about his earlier comment. Austin explains that he can now be based out of Salem and live in town while running his company. Sami helps Austin clean up the bedding from the couch and sheepishly agrees with Austin’s attitude about life being too short not to go for what you want. Austin apologizes for mentioning how coming back for the wedding helped him reach this epiphany but Sami replies that she thinks about it all the time anyway. Sami insists that she must move on with her life and Austin offers to help any way he can. Sami suggests that she could work for Austin at his new company. Austin doesn’t look at all excited about the idea.

Deveraux house:

Jack adamantly denies planning anything as he jumps out of bed with renewed energy. Jennifer doesn’t believe him but Jack claims that he meant he would be watching over them forever and kisses her. Jennifer still looks skeptical but hugs Jack anyway. Jennifer is determined to make the most of the time they have left together. Jennifer solemnly heads downstairs to help Abby with breakfast. Jack apologizes to Jennifer for leaving sooner than she thinks.

Abby is in the process of making blueberry pancakes, Jack’s favorite, as Jennifer heads into the kitchen. Jack comes into the kitchen as Jennifer advises Abby on how to properly incorporate the blueberries into the batter. Jennifer and Abby smile as Jack delights in the idea of his favorite pancakes being made by his daughter and wife. Jack heads out of the kitchen to go play with Jack Jr. until breakfast is ready. Once he leaves, Abby’s smile drops and she asks Jennifer if there’s really nothing they can do to help Jack get better.

Lockhart house:

Billie is enjoying her coffee and breakfast when Chelsea walks in now wearing a somewhat respectable summer dress. Billie commends her on the outfit and suggests that it’s okay to wear to work for another two weeks. Chelsea complains that everyone has already seen her in the clothes Kate bought her and Billie points out that no one who saw her before is going to be walking into Basic Black. Billie uses her own outfit as an example as to how it doesn’t matter that she’s worn the same outfit multiple times. Billie looks annoyed as Chelsea claims that by wearing the same outfit multiple times, it’s starting to look old and she’d rather not look like her mother. Chelsea notices Billie’s expression and claims she didn’t mean it as an insult. Chelsea claims she needs to look more fashion conscious given that she is working at Basic Black. Billie decides to count the fact that Chelsea called her “mother” as a small victory. Chelsea claims that she is as different from Billie as can be because she likes to dress up and go out. Billie points out that she felt the same when she was Chelsea’s age and warns that it will get her in trouble. Chelsea retorts that given her gene pool of addicts, prostitutes, and both, it doesn’t matter what she wears. Billie replies that she never thought by sharing that information that Chelsea would throw it back in her face. Kate arrives and starts to talk to Chelsea who is all smiles at her but then Billie walks up and asks to speak to Kate alone first. Chelsea shoots Billie an evil glare but then is all smiles again when Kate turns to face her and asks that Chelsea give them some time alone. Chelsea glares once again at Billie and then leaves. Chelsea angrily eavesdrops from around the corner, as Billie demands that Kate no longer spoil Chelsea with any cash or gifts.

Brady house:

Bo returns to the house, carrying a medium size white box, as Hope finishes telling someone on the phone to block out four hours and they’ll be there soon. Bo explains that he got Zach to the bus stop in time so there was no need to drive him and Hope is now ecstatic because everything is good to go for Jennifer’s surprise. Bo confirms that Hope has some time before she has to leave and holds out the white box for Hope. Hope wants to know when Bo had time to buy her something but Bo says he didn’t buy it but made it. Hope is intrigued and opens the box to discover Bo has made her a small model of the Fancy Face III. Bo says he worked on after Hope went to sleep and it’s to remind her of the voyage they are on together for the rest of their lives. Bo leans in and gives Hope a kiss. Bo takes the model out of Hope’s hands and silences her protest with another kiss. Hope understands Bo’s intentions when he asks in between kissing down her neck again about how much time she has and they begin to make love on the couch.

Sami’s apartment:

Austin isn’t sure that hiring Sami is a good idea. Austin starts to clean up the papers on the table but Sami insists on doing it for him as a sign that she can do those sort of secretarial duties for him. Austin still doesn’t think it’s a good idea. Sami complains that she can’t get a job anywhere else because her reputation is ruined despite being cleared of the charges and the only way she’ll get work is from someone who actually cares about her and will give her a chance. Austin mentions how Sami’s bad reputation could damage his credibility and Sami agrees with that point. Austin still has his concerns. Sami continues to plead her case but then changes the subject to the cost of office space. Austin explains that he planned to start the business out of his home and Sami uses that as part of the argument for Austin to move in with her permanently. Austin reminds Sami to think of how Lucas would feel about him moving in.

Lucas’ apartment:

Lucas asks what he was saying about Sami in his sleep and Sophie claims that she wasn’t trying to listen but it did sound romantic. Sophie assures Lucas that he wasn’t talking about anything sexual in his sleep. Sophie suggests that Lucas isn’t as over Sami as he thinks.

Lockhart house:

Chelsea continues to eavesdrop as Billie complains to Kate about having looked in Chelsea’s wardrobe and found all the new dresses Kate bought her. Kate begs to be able to spoil Chelsea a little. Billie points out that Kate giving her a job and having a roof over Chelsea’s head means she is doing just fine. Billie insists that Kate give Chelsea no more clothes or cash until further notice. Chelsea scowls as she listens.

Deveraux house:

Abby flips the pancakes as Jennifer assures her that they are doing everything they can to keep Jack alive. Abby starts to question Lexie’s diagnosis but Jennifer explains that Lexie got several second opinions. Jack pokes his head into the kitchen as Jennifer and Abby talk of keeping Jack alive long enough for there to be a miracle cure. Jack walks fully into the kitchen and warns Abby not to get her hopes up because he doesn’t think they’ll find a cure in time.

Brady house:

Bo and Hope now lie in each other’s arms on the couch. Hope marvels at how everything is going right for them and shares the idea of finally getting to sail around the world again. Talk of being grateful and having time together unlike Jack and Jennifer turns into Bo having to make up for missing 18 years of Chelsea’s life. Hope advises Bo to help change Chelsea’s future by being there and loving her. Bo says he can do that and they kiss and snuggle.

Lockhart house:

Patrick is outside retrieving the paper when Chelsea walks up. Chelsea complains about how Billie told Kate to stop giving her money and clothes. Patrick feigns sympathy. Chelsea doesn’t appreciate Patrick’s sarcasm but Patrick insists that Billie is only doing what is best for her. Chelsea refuses to let anyone get in the way of what she wants and vows that Billie, mother or not, is going to learn a lesson she’ll never forget. Chelsea leaves the yard.

Kate complains that she can’t help worrying about her children and vows to get Austin away from Sami. Billie reiterates that as adults, Kate’s children have asked her repeatedly not to interfere in their lives. Billie asks Kate to let her raise her own daughter.

Lucas’ apartment:

Lucas admits that it’ll take a long time before he gets over Sami but vows that he and Sami will never have a future together.

Sami’s apartment:

Sami claims she isn’t worried about how Lucas feels because he’s already made it clear that there is no future for them. Sami thinks that the best way to start her new life is to work for Austin. Sami pleads her case by pointing out she’d be available to assist Austin 24/7. Austin turns it around as a con by pointing out that it would be a lot of time to spend together without a break from each other. Sami suggests that they could pick one day a week where they don’t see each other at all. Sami recaps all of her arguments for Austin moving in with her and hiring her. Austin gives in and agrees to everything. Sami is so ecstatic that she hugs Austin.

Deveraux house:

Abby, now crying, asks Jack not to say such things even though true so as not to take their hopes away. Jack apologizes but insists that they not harbor any false hopes. Abby hugs Jack and Jennifer hugs them both as they all start to cry.
