Maggie gushes about how Max has grown into a handsome young man just like Frankie and Frankie hopes that Max is behaving himself.

Max’s car:

Max sits back up in the driver’s seat and compliments Chelsea by admitting he was wrong about her not being a woman. Max notices Chelsea’s sad expression and Chelsea looks to be near tears as Max asks if she is sad about what they just did.

Jail:

Mimi insists that they can’t have the life they always wanted but Rex should feel free to move on and have that life with someone else. Rex tries to convince Mimi that he wants to have that life with her and doesn’t care how long he has to wait. Mimi implores Rex to move on with his life without her. Mimi wants to get it over with and say goodbye now.

German hospital:

Shawn admits to Philip that he organized the rescue mission in hopes that it would get Belle back. Philip doesn’t understand why Shawn would think that since he and Belle are married. Shawn declares that he loves Belle, has never stopped loving Belle, and won’t apologize for it. Philip acknowledges that Shawn is finally being honest. Shawn turns to Belle and claims that Philip wanted to know and now all their cards are out on the table. Instead of feeling relieved, Belle is angry with Shawn for hurting Philip.

Philip assures Belle that it’s okay. Philip asks Shawn if he really came into a war zone to rescue him, not because Shawn cared whether he lived or died, but so that Belle would stop worrying about him and enable Shawn to make his move. Shawn doesn’t like hearing it put that way. Philip accuses Shawn of coming to Germany simply because he couldn’t stand to wait any longer. Philip tells a surprised Shawn that he understands what Shawn is doing and even agrees with it. Shawn asks if Philip is willing to let Belle go.

Jail cell:

Rex vows to wait the next 15-20 years for Mimi but Mimi doesn’t want Rex to make that sacrifice. Rex claims that the next 15-20 years won’t be any good without Mimi in them and vows to do whatever it takes to get Mimi out of jail. Rex wishes that Mimi would tell him the reason she plead guilty but since she won’t, he’ll just keep digging until he finds the answer he needs. Mimi cries out that Rex can’t do that.

Deveraux home:

Jennifer assures Frankie that Max is behaving himself and teases him about being the protective older brother. Jack explains that Max and Chelsea went out for ice cream and they are having an indoor cookout due to the rain. Everyone laughs as Frankie jokes about how Max is probably still at the store because he is picking out several extra kinds of ice cream. Marlena tells Frankie that a lot has changed since he’s been in town and Frankie remarks at how well everyone looks considering most of them were presumed dead. Jennifer hugs Abby and turns to Jack for confirmation as she tells Frankie that none of them are going anywhere for a very long time. Marlena and Jack exchange glances as Jack flashes back to his talk with Marlena about his prognosis. Frankie tells Jack that he envies him for having a wonderful home and a great family. Jack quips that the only other thing he’d want is a life long enough to enjoy it all. Frankie brings up Jack Patrick and compliments Abby by saying she is as beautiful as Jennifer, which embarrasses Jennifer. Frankie tells Jennifer that she is living the American dream and that he is happy for her. Jennifer says she feels lucky but is still shocked at seeing Frankie show up at her door.

Jack grills Frankie about whether he is married and Frankie jokes that he isn’t married but he came close once, indicating Jennifer. Everyone laughs as Jack proclaims that Frankie’s loss was lucky for him.

Abby pulls Maggie aside to ask if she thinks it’s weird that Frankie showed up here first and not at the Brady households. Maggie doesn’t think it’s weird because Jennifer and Frankie used to be very close. Abby recalls that Jennifer only made it out to be a crush but Maggie explains that Jennifer and Frankie were very serious and even were expected to get married.

Jack brings Frankie a drink. Frankie mentions that even though they lost touch over the years, he did receive Abby’s baby pictures. Frankie tells Jack that he is happy that Jack has a chance to start all over again and must be excited to have the chance to see Jack Patrick grow up. Marlena watches Jack from across the room. Jack quickly changes the subject and asks Frankie what he does for a living. Frankie explains that he is a lawyer and Jennifer remembers that Frankie majored in psychology. Frankie notes how psychology has really come in handy in the courtroom. Frankie explains that they handle cases of identity theft and Patrick glares at him from across the room. Jennifer is having a hard time comprehending that Frankie turned out to be a lawyer and Max a racecar driver. Frankie wishes that Max would learn to slow down and not test his limits.

Max’s car:

Chelsea puts on a brave face as she assures Max that she is fine since after all, they only made out. Max compliments Chelsea as a good kisser and they kiss again. Max offers to go farther but Chelsea pulls back, claiming that she is saving herself for marriage. Max says he isn’t the family type and confirms with Chelsea that the older guy she mentioned earlier is the man she’s really after. Max refuses to lie to Chelsea and admits that he isn’t really into relationships, just into having a good time. Chelsea suggests that they head back and Max suddenly remembers the ice cream. Max laughs at the thought of the ice cream being melted by now and they start for the Deveraux home.

Deveraux home:

Jack offers to make Frankie one of his famous burgers and heads back out to the garage. Jennifer fixes Frankie a glass of iced tea. Frankie compliments Jack to Jennifer. Jennifer says seeing Frankie brings back so many memories and how after meeting Frankie in high school, she was no longer miserable. Frankie jokes about how Jennifer would have gotten into a lot less trouble had she not met him. Jennifer negates that comment but points out that she would have also had a lot less fun. Alice remarks how Jennifer and Frankie made quite the pair as she and Abby look over old photographs of the couple. The photo spurs a flashback of past romantic moments between the two. Jennifer hugs Frankie as she hopes that he’ll stay in Salem for a little while.

Frankie tells Jennifer that he hasn’t made any plans yet but must first track down Max. Jennifer explains that Max and Chelsea will be back any minute and while Max said he had a hotel room, Jennifer wishes that he and Frankie stay here with them. Frankie hesitates to answer but before he can say anything, Jack comes back with his burger. Jack offers Frankie a chance for him and Max to stay in the garage apartment. Jennifer drags Frankie over to the food table to sample some of Alice’s cornbread. Jack tells Frankie to also try some Pickalilli relish.

Abby pulls Jack aside to inquire as to why he isn’t jealous of Jennifer and Frankie. Jack insists he isn’t jealous because what Jennifer went through with Frankie turned her into the person that fell in love with him. Jack adds that when Frankie and Jennifer was a couple, they were even younger than Abby. Abby notes that Frankie and Jennifer’s relationship was nothing like what Jack and Jennifer have and how weird it is to think of Jennifer with anyone else ever. Abby changes the subject by asking about more burgers and Jack directs her to the kitchen.

Seizing the opportunity to talk to Jack alone, Marlena advises him to tell Jennifer about his prognosis. Jack refuses but then adds that he can’t do it in front of everyone. Marlena understands that but urges Jack not to wait too long.

Jennifer introduces Frankie to Patrick and Frankie recognizes Patrick’s last name. Patrick tries to claim that Frankie couldn’t possibly already know him and Jack steps up to suggest that Frankie could know of Patrick through his line of work. Jennifer glares at Jack and changes the subject by offering Frankie some bean salad. Max and Chelsea finally return and Max claims that the ice cream is melted because they got stuck in traffic. Max greets Frankie but Frankie watches Abby drag Chelsea into the entryway to talk privately and questions Max.

Deveraux front porch:

Abby groans as Chelsea’s gushing over how Frankie looks as handsome as Max and drags her outside. Abby grills Chelsea about what happened and Chelsea tells her about stopping at the lake and kissing. Chelsea gloats about how Max wanted to have sex and Abby, looking disgusted, asks if Chelsea did have sex with him.

Jack and Jennifer check out the melted ice cream and Jennifer suggests to Jack that he make a burger for Max. Jennifer offers to make some fresh iced tea and she and Jack head into the kitchen. Frankie pulls Max aside to talk. Maggie ends her phone call with Mickey where she hears of Mimi’s sentence and Patrick overhears her passing along the news to Marlena.

Jail cell:

Rex doesn’t understand why Mimi won’t let him keep investigating so he can clear her name. Mimi flashes back to telling Marlena about the abortion and its complications. Mimi implores Rex to let it go and forget about her. Rex refuses to forget about Mimi and tells her that he loves her. The guard comes back and tells Rex that their time is up. Rex promises to come back tomorrow and every day after that. Mimi yells at Rex not to come back because she never wants to see him again. Mimi buries her face against the cot.

German hospital:

Shawn can’t believe that Philip is willing to give Belle up. Philip explains that he meant that he understands Shawn’s motives because he would have done the same to get Belle back. Shawn gushes about Philip being a war hero and Philip tells him to save it because the only thing that has changed is that Shawn is no longer lying about his feelings for Belle. Shawn explains that he wanted to tell Philip the truth from the beginning but he was respecting Belle’s wishes for Belle was afraid of how Philip would take the news. Philip insists he is a man who can handle another man being after his wife. Shawn is glad that Philip feels that way and Philip turns to Belle to ask how she feels, whether she’d rather be with him or with Shawn. Belle looks between them both.

Deveraux front porch:

Abby demands to know whether Chelsea and Max had sex. Chelsea is annoyed at Abby’s “freak-out” and assures her that she and Max didn’t have sex because she told him she was saving herself for Patrick. Abby is shocked that Chelsea would admit that to Max but Chelsea explains that she never referred to Patrick by name. Chelsea gloats about how they didn’t spend a lot of time talking. Abby can’t believe this and Chelsea says it made it even more special to be making out with a famous racecar driver. Abby wants to know what else happened and Chelsea whispers her reply in Abby’s ear. Chelsea grins in delight at Abby’s shocked reaction.

Deveraux home:

Frankie demands to know why Max was gone so long. Max sticks to his story about traffic. Frankie warns Max that if anything sexual happened with “that girl” Chelsea, he could be in serious trouble. Max points out that Chelsea is 18 but adds that nothing happened. Frankie doesn’t believe him, referring to Max as the “love ‘em and leave ‘em type.” Max accuses Frankie of getting that attitude from him because he once loved Jennifer but then left her.

Deveraux kitchen:

Jack strips off his BBQ outfit as Jennifer fusses with Tupperware containers. Jack feels triumphant in being right about Patrick judging by Frankie’s reaction when he and Patrick met. Jennifer still doesn’t believe that Patrick could have such a criminal background. Jack is confident that Frankie will help be the key to nailing Patrick. Jennifer urges Jack to let it go because Patrick is out of the apartment and gone.

Deveraux home:

Patrick slips into the entryway for privacy as he calls Bonnie. Only getting her voicemail, Patrick leaves a message to complain that no one informed him about Mimi’s sentence and begs her to call him so they can figure out a way to keep Mimi from going to Statesville. Patrick heads outside.

Jail cell:

Mimi tearfully tells Rex that he must go and find another woman to love and have a family with as she stands in front of the bars again. Rex insists that Mimi is the only woman he’ll ever love and pulls her close for a kiss. Rex tells Mimi to never forget how much he loves her and turns to go. Mimi leans her back against the bars as she whispers that she loves Rex too. Rex turns back to look at Mimi but then leaves. Mimi turns to watch Rex go and then tells herself that that was the last time she’ll ever see Rex again.

Mimi sobs against the cot as she forces herself to call over the guard. Mimi asks the guard if she can refuse to see a visitor. The guard confirms that it’s her decision. Mimi asks the guard to put Rex’s name on the list for banned visitors.

Rex’s loft:

Rex is working on his computer in an attempt to try and help Mimi when Patrick knocks on the door. Patrick explains that he can’t find Bonnie and asks Rex to fill him in on Mimi. Rex explains that Mimi didn’t want anyone to know about her sentencing. Rex adds that Mimi is refusing to appeal. Rex lets Patrick inside and they agree to fight for Mimi. Rex suggests that they work together.

German hospital:

Philip asks Belle again whom she wants to spend the rest of her life with. Belle looks over at Philip. Philip takes Belle’s hand and apologizes for putting Belle on the spot and asks to say something to her before she makes her decision. Philip clears his throat and tells Belle that while he loves her, they both know he isn’t the same man she married. Belle insists that he is and that she meant it when she told him she loves him. Philip tells Belle that her life will never be the same if she chooses to stay with him. Philip promises to love Belle just as much if not more but asks if she can still love him as he is now or would she rather be free to be with Shawn. Belle turns away and silently cries as Shawn waits on her answer.

Philip tells Belle to focus on only what she wants. Philip tells Shawn that he wouldn’t have gone after Belle if he thought they were still together. Shawn insists that he never stopped loving Belle and only went away because he had amnesia and Jan convinced him that she and him had a relationship. Philip lists Shawn’s prior bad treatment of Belle and refers to Shawn’s love for Belle as on again, off again, on again. Philip claims that his love for Belle has never wavered and it never will.

Deveraux home:

Maggie notes how Marlena must miss John and Belle. Marlena is glad that John is with Belle in Germany for she feels that Belle must be with Philip right now even though Shawn is her true love. Maggie feels that Belle and Shawn belong together because first love is true love. Marlena flashes back to sleeping with Roman. Marlena complains that relationships are too complicated and Maggie chuckles as she says she’d rather have Belle’s situation of choosing between two men who love her then having to compete with another woman for her own husband.

Deveraux kitchen:

Jennifer washes the dishes as Jack dries them. Jennifer is glad that Frankie is back and Jack considers Frankie a good guy and starts to refer to Patrick in a negative way but Jennifer stops him. Jack complains that he wants Patrick gone and Jennifer tells him that he got his wish because Patrick left without saying goodbye. Jack hopes that Patrick didn’t forget to take anything so that they never have to see him on their premises again. Jennifer suggests that they head up to the garage apartment and fix it up for Max and Frankie, asking Jack if it is okay that they stay. Jack points out that it was his idea and thinks that the “brothers Brady” would be an improvement over Patrick.

Deveraux home:

Frankie wants to know what happened between Max and Chelsea but Max refuses to tell him. Max wants to know why Frankie followed him to Salem. Frankie admits that he came to check up on Max and knew that upon hearing he was headed back to Salem, he knew it wouldn’t be long before Max would get into trouble.

Deveraux front porch:

Abby still can’t believe what she was just told. Chelsea tells Abby to keep her voice down and insists it wasn’t that big a deal because it isn’t like they had sex. Abby is still shocked but Chelsea insists that everyone does it. Abby points out that she is one who doesn’t. Chelsea claims that when Abby grows up, she will do the same and then asks Abby if she is really upset because she is jealous of her. Abby insists that she isn’t jealous because what Chelsea and Max did was disgusting. Chelsea brushes off the comment and accuses Abby of being immature. Abby accuses Chelsea of being the immature one and tells her that what she did was more than just making out. Abby tells Chelsea that what she did wasn’t smart and was just plain wrong.

Deveraux house:

Max points out that he didn’t look up the Deveraux family, they found him and he’s glad they did. Frankie doesn’t want Max to hurt these people. Max insists that he won’t and asks Frankie to get off his back about it but Frankie refuses. Jack and Jennifer return and Jennifer announces that she and Jack made up the apartment for them and would love them to stay. Max accepts the offer but Frankie turns it down, insisting that they’ll be staying at the Brady Pub. Jennifer agrees that Shawn Sr. would want to spend time with them but asks that they at least spend one night so they can catch up because it’s so nice to have friends and family around right now. Jack pulls Marlena aside and quietly points out Jennifer’s attitude as a sign that he can’t tell Jennifer that he is dying now.

Jail cell:

The guard warns Mimi that it’s only going to get worse and Mimi complains that she just said goodbye to the love of her life and will never see him again. The guard shrugs her shoulders and leaves.

Rex’s loft:

Rex shows Patrick how he used his computer to make a timeline of the events leading up to Jan’s accident, complete with gaps where there should be information that he doesn’t yet know about. Patrick warns that it won’t be easy to fill in the gaps but Rex is adamant that they do whatever it takes to get Mimi out of jail.

German hospital:

Shawn and Philip argue about whether Shawn really loved Belle while he was with Jan. Philip refuses to continue to feel sorry for Shawn now that he knows that Shawn was after Belle the entire time he was gone. Philip tells Belle that if she does choose Shawn, he will grant her a divorce because it will be a lot harder to be married to someone who loves someone else. Philip asks Belle to make her choice.
