At Insomnia, Taylor comes to on the floor with Brooke fawning over her, desperately trying to get her to come around. Taylor tells her she doesn’t want any water, she just wants to go home. Brooke insists she needs to go to the hospital, but Taylor tells her to stop it, and don’t make such a big deal over this. Despite Taylor’s objections, Brooke insists on driving her home if she won’t go to the hospital.

Over the phone, Ridge thanks Thorne for keeping the kids. He and Brooke just need some much needed alone time and he will return the favor soon. Wine and candles……all he needs is Brooke.

Jackie and Nick get into a heavy conversation as Jackie is worried what will happen if Taylor can’t handle this. Nick insists she will. Jackie is still not sure. Taylor seems to be on the jagged edge, and she’s never been good at handling stress especially when it comes to Brooke. And now he is expecting her to handle that Brooke is the biological mother! Nick says that is something she doesn’t have to concern herself about. She thinks she does because her grandson’s well-being is at stake here. And if Taylor is not capable of taking care of him, then Nick needs to be prepared as Jack needs a mother. He reminds her that Jack has a mother. Jackie says yes, but Brooke is out there and willing…..He tells her to let this go. Taylor is his wife….and the mother of his son. Just as Brooke and Taylor walk in, Jackie mutters there is just so much any one person can take.

Though Taylor explains that it was nothing, Brooke fills them in on what happened at Insomnia. Taylor says it was just a mild panic attack. She has seen them millions of times and knows exactly what one is. Jackie suggests that she is going to call Bridget who will come over and call a doctor for Taylor. “No, do not call a doctor,” fires Taylor. “Do not call the hospital, and positively do not call Bridget.” She dismisses Brooke by thanking her for bringing her home, even though she could have done that herself. Nick remarks that she must be exhausted, perhaps she should go lie down and get some rest? When she’s gone, Nick asks what happened? Brooke tells him that they were spotted at Insomnia and Taylor really flipped out. She tried to explain that she wasn’t following Nick, but Taylor didn’t want to hear that. She got all worked up and started hyperventilating, and Taylor passed out right in her arms. Her opinion is that Taylor is not emotionally stable right now and she is worried, and so should he be. He tells her he appreciates her help, but he’s going to head upstairs.

Jackie is already in the room when Taylor comes into the bedroom. Jackie offers that everything is going to be all right, Taylor just needs to relax. Taylor feels embarrassed, Jackie must be thinking she’s lost it. Jackie says no, she is the mother of her grandchild and she loves and supports her. But, she is concerned and Taylor has to take care of herself. That baby needs her to be strong. “After all, you are the ONLY mother he has.” She emphasizes that no one else can love him and take care of him like she can. So for her to remember that no matter what put her in this state. Nick comes in and Taylor asks has Brooke gone home? Nick assures her that she has. He asks his mother if he and Taylor can be alone for a few minutes?

Ridge pours the wine and Brooke asks what are they celebrating? He replies – his mother’s recent memory of the shooting and her father’s new-found freedom. He confides that this has been one hell of a relief. He’s very glad her dad did not shoot his mother because something like that can definitely be a strain on a relationship.

Jackie tells Nick that Taylor seems awfully delicate. He knows she wants to say more, and he doesn’t want to get into it. She tells him that he is going to as it is perfectly obvious that Taylor is not dealing with this well at all and it’s compromising her health. And his son’s health as well. He finds issue with that, there is nothing wrong with Jack nor is he in any danger. She goes on how the woman passed out. Thank God she was in a public place, and wasn’t holding Jack. But what happens the next time she has one of these panic attacks? What if she is alone with his son? Is he willing to take that chance? She snipes that “Taylor is struggling right now trying to keep it together, and I pray for all your sakes that she finds a way. But, it shouldn’t be here, and it shouldn’t be when she is taking care of my grandson. It’s a recipe for disaster – for you, for everybody, for the baby.” He sighs that he doesn’t know what she expects him to do. She replies that she doesn’t know either. All she does know is that he has a little life that is entirely in his care. And every decision he makes now needs to be made for him….Nick has to live for him. Oh God, she knows what it is like to live for a son who depends on you to make all the right choices. It’s a huge responsibility and she is just afraid that Taylor isn’t capable of doing any of that. She wonders if Jack doesn’t need his other mother? She wonders if he doesn’t need Brooke?

Ridge remarks that Brooke is late, did something happen at work? She fills him in on Taylor. He asks her to come on, are they really going to ruin this romantic mood by talking about Nick and his brood? She tells him she really doesn’t want to, but this is serious. She’s really concerned about Taylor. He believes Brooke that it was just a chance encounter seeing Nick, but Taylor has been under a lot of stress lately, so you can’t hold that against her. Brooke insists that it is a lot more than just stress, and she really doesn’t think she needs to be in charge of Jack. It was awful at Insomnia. Taylor worked herself into a tizzy, she had a meltdown. She’s okay now as she is with Nick and Jackie. But she is still worried and does not think Taylor will ever accept her as Jack’s biological mother. Ridge agrees that she probably needs help, but while he doesn’t exactly trust Nick on a lot of issues, he does know he will take care of his wife. And he has every confidence that he will take good care of the baby as well. Jackie will be there as well as Phoebe. He assures Brooke that he knows Taylor very well and how strong she is. This has been a very emotional time for her, but she’s Jack’s mother and she will love him just as she does Thomas, Phoebe and Steffy.

Ridge doesn’t want to talk about it anymore....or waste this occasion. The kids are at Thorne’s, so they should take advantage of this. And he has something very serious that he wants to discuss with her…..making an honest man out of him. A wedding? All this other stuff keeps getting in the way….his mother getting shot and her father going to jail. They’ve had to put things on hold for a while. They agree they don’t have to do that any more….they can start their future life together from this moment on.

Jackie swears to Nicky that she’s really not trying to be a home-wrecker. It’s just that she really believes what bound him to Taylor was that she was able to give him the child he so desperately wanted. He reminds his mother that he loves Taylor. She realizes that, but the fact is she is not Jack’s mother. He’s Brooke’s son and his marriage to Taylor and Brooke’s relationship with Ridge…the fact that this child is in their world, he and Brooke need to deal with what that means. The child’s welfare is at stake. She knows he loves Taylor and doesn’t want to let her down. That is so righteous, but now is not the time to be righteous. It is time to be selfish. Selfish for Jack. Jack needs his daddy and his ultimate duty is to him. Taylor is trapped in a living hell right now. How fair is that? Every day she faces the reality that she bore the child of a woman she despises. What kind of life is that for her? What kind of life is that for the child? He needs a mother who will love him and care for him unconditionally….and the only woman who can do that is Brooke.

He demands that she stop it. But she continues, that Brooke is his passion, his ultimate partner. She’s begging him…..literally begging him to please go after her before Brooks commits to Ridge again. If Nick won’t do it for himself, then for his son as he needs Brooke. “He needs her, and deep down you need her too.”
