Dreamingly, Phoebe thinks of Rick the night before and he of her. Brooke jolts him out of his thoughts by asking for his help getting breakfast on the table. She vows he will be having a healthy American breakfast as long as he’s staying with them. As a gentleman would, he pulls out the chair for Phoebe. Ridge wastes no time by saying he has been meaning to ask – did Rick keep his place in Paris? Rick quips is Ridge that anxious for him to get back? He does miss his friends and where he used to hang out. Ridge laments that he doesn’t think it will be long because if this collection is as big a hit as he thinks it will be, Rick will be off to Europe again very soon. Hope says she doesn’t want Rick to go. He thanks Short Stuff. Phoebe chimes in too that yeah, he just got here. He shouldn’t leave just yet. Brooke adds even if the collection is a hit, it will take a long while before getting the European division together. Phoebe thinks that might take months. Ridge tells Phoebe to grab Hope’s coat and they will drop her off on the way to work. Phoebe replies that she is not through with her breakfast yet. Can’t he drop her off and she will grab a ride with Rick? Nope. He tells her to grab a muffin and they will go. As Rick and Phoebe say goodbye to each other, Ridge shoots a knowing look to Brooke.

On the jet, Storm asks Nick why he had to meet Harvey Golden this way and not in L.A.? Nick replies because it is Harvey’s turf, meeting out in the middle of nowhere proves they are committed to doing business, and him meeting them means he is not committed just to the Forrester’s. And regardless of his strange reputation, Nick says he is taking the meeting. Nick extols that if can get Golden, he will control everything but the Midwest. Storm still warns him to use caution, he’s already maxed out. The Federal Government frowns on monopolies. Nick replies so be it! The only people pissed off at this will be the Forrester’s. Everyone else will consider them heroes.

Rick remarks that he’s really, really tired. Must be all this food. Brooke thinks it might be his late night with Phoebe. She saw them in the garden and it seems they were really enjoying each other’s company. He said they did, the night started off a bit strange, but ended up okay. But he doesn’t want to discuss it. Hanging out with her is just really cool. Cool……and nice…..Phoebe is really nice. He agrees they get along. Brooke asks, “and?” He asks and what? with a smirk. Pointblank, she asks what is going on between him and Phoebe?

At the office, Stephanie tells Ridge that he looks all stressed. And she thought the showing was going well and all set. He says it is, not that, but Rick. She asks is he angry about the company or Ridge marrying his mother? He replies that it’s Phoebe – Phoebe and Rick. There is a problem there. And it might turn out to be an even bigger problem.

Likewise as busy, Eric is fluttering around signing papers, taking phone calls, making sure that his distributors are seated down front. Never mind that the press wants celebrities, he wants to reward the loyalty of the distributors. Phoebe feels nervous, but he tells her fashion is in her blood.

Stephanie tries to reassure Ridge that Phoebe will be okay. But he tells her that she is a novice at more than just modeling. She agrees that she is at an impressionable age, but she’s no dummy. She’s not going to let his anger towards Ridge affect her relationship with Ridge or with Brooke for that matter. He confesses he is more concerned about her relationship with HIM. There is getting along and then there is ‘getting along.' She’s sensing something else and asks if he means they are more than just spending time together?

Brooke says and if there is something going on, it’s okay. He can tell her. Rick knows Ridge has been talking to her. And just because he is marrying Brooke doesn’t give him the right to judge Rick or his choice of friends. She points out that Phoebe is his daughter. He knows, but she’s also an adult and she doesn’t need her father to be some guard dog. She asks if he can blame her for being so curious. He’s been away so long, she doesn’t know that much about his life. Did he date any women in Paris? He recounts that all his experience with Amber left him a little gun shy, but he did see a few women, nothing serious. He includes still with all the stunts she pulled, he wouldn’t be here today without her kidney. She rails that as far as she is concerned, Amber owes him a lot more than that. He jokes that now there are two overly protective parents around here. She just wants him to be happy and safe and he explains how it’s very hard for him to be close to people right now. If anything good is going to happen, it’s like it has to sneak up on him. And he reflects that you can’t expect it, meeting THE girl, you can’t go looking for her or even describe her. You’ll just know when you find her. And despite the “I’ll kill you if you cross the line with my daughter,” by Ridge, he likes hanging out with Phoebe. And Ridge seriously wants him outta here. And what a hypocrite. Rick says he know all about Bridget. He immediately apologizes. Says he doesn’t care what Ridge wants, and after what he put her through, she shouldn’t care either.

Nick lets himself into a large, empty, dark warehouse. He looks around and calls out for anyone to answer. A figure walks forward and says he appreciates him being there. Nick assumes this is Golden, but the man says he will be along shortly. From a speaker phone, Mr. Golden’s voice emerges and welcomes Nick….may he call him Nick? Nick is disappointed they aren’t meeting face to face. He doesn’t play games. Harvey booms that Nick has bought out all his competitors except Fenmore’s. Nick says then he must know why he is here to offer him a very lucrative offer. Harvey remarks he’d have to. Without his, Nick would only have half the market and that won’t do. Not with the Forrester showing tomorrow. He needs to make a deal today. He advises to make sure the Forrester’s can’t sell their gowns anywhere except the Midwest. Nick scowls that he seems to know an awful lot about this situation. Can he tell him if he has his company too? Golden answers perhaps, but it will come at a price. Nick reminds him he is offering a nice price. Golden returns that if they come to an agreement, it will be for a lot more than money.

Stephanie sees that Ridge is really worried about Rick spending time with Phoebe. Stephanie seems to think all he has been is very encouraging to Phoebe. Ridge says yeah, that is what concerns him. She asks if he thinks there is more to this? And yes, that’s his gut feeling. She’s seen them together. They are always together. What does she think? She scoffs that she just thinks Phoebe is probably infatuated with him. That’s kind of cute. He tells her not to say that. It is NOT cute. She still thinks it’s perfectly understandable, living the kind of life he’s led, the things he has done. That would be highly attractive to a girl her age. But, come on Ridge, Brooke would never allow something like that. He comments you would think so, but she doesn’t seem to see the danger in it, he doesn’t know why. But, he vows there is something on with those two. Stephanie asks if he thinks it has become sexual? He says no, no if he has anything to say about it. She offers to go and speak with Brooke. Once she sees how concerned Ridge is, and what could be at stake here, she’ll do the right thing.

Brooke tells Rick that she can understand why Ridge would want him to stay away from Phoebe. She may not agree with it, but she does understand. And she thinks he should too. All he understands is that Ridge is a jerk. She calls him on this. He just said Ridge had no right to judge him, it works both ways. Rick expresses that Ridge has actually done something to be judged for…..lots of things. She asks if he hasn’t? He replies that he and Phoebe are becoming really good friends. He admits that he can talk to her, really, really talk to her. He knows that sounds weird because she is so much younger than he, but she’s wise for her age.

Eric tells Phoebe he’s noticed a positive change in her lately, she’s always been beautiful but lately she is radiant. She confesses she has been happy so maybe that is it. And it’s not because of Shane, he’s out of her life. Eric is glad to hear that. He couldn’t think of a worse match for her. Anybody would be better.

Brooke asks if Rick likes Phoebe too much to stop seeing her? He remarks that he is not SEEING her. And if that is what Ridge thinks, then it’s his problem, not Rick’s. Brooke states that Ridge will come around. She just wants her son to be happy and the house peaceful. He wonders if those two things are mutually exclusive. She tells him she really doesn’t want to take sides, but if he and Phoebe enjoy spending time together, she doesn’t see anything wrong with it. Walking up outside, Stephanie overhears this. Rick hugs and thanks his mother for her support.

As he goes upstairs, Stephanie walks in and asks Brooke what is she telling her son? Doesn’t she see that this situation is wrong? She gathers Stephanie has been talking to Ridge. Stephanie says of course she has. Obviously Brooke doesn’t fully understand what’s going on here. Because if she did, she knows she would not encourage her son to become involved with a member of his own family. Brooke reminds her they are not even related. Nothing is going on. Phoebe just has a little crush. They politely argue – it’s inappropriate, it’s harmless, it can’t continue. Brooke must put a stop to it. Brooke answers that it will stop in time. Phoebe will meet someone at the mall or the beach and she’ll forget all about Rick. But, until then, she doesn’t see anything scandalous about them spending time together. Stephanie points out they are living under the same roof, they’ve got rooms just down the hall from each other. And Ridge has said they are up to all hours of the night. Brooke tells her she is just being ridiculous, they are just catching up. Stephanie shrugs fine. She chuckles, why would she be surprised that she would minimize this? This is her typical parenting style. Don’t give them boundaries, just let them sort it out for themselves. Brooke can’t believe she just said that to her. Stephanie said she did, and she is prepared to say a lot more. Brooke argues no she is not. She’s not going to say anything to her, to Rick or to Phoebe. She’s certainly not going to call Phoebe out on his and turn a cute little crush into something dirty. She tells Stephanie that Phoebe is eighteen years old. Stephanie says yes, and Rick is a grown man. And they BOTH are Forrester’s. Brooke heads to open the door and scolds her for overreacting. Stephanie warns her that she has to draw a line here, and they can’t cross it.

Brooke declares to her this is not her home and these are NOT her children. Hasn’t she learned that she can’t control everybody in her life? And she sure as hell is not going to control her son. She remarks that it has taken her decades for them to reach this place where they can be civil to each other. And she does not want to jeopardize that. But, if she or anybody else tries to interfere in her children’s lives, she will NEVER allow that.
