Nick faces Brooke and Ridge who are side by side. He says he has admitted his mistake. She replies but Bridget is pregnant. He counters but not by him. Ridge pops off, so that makes it all right? He still slept with her daughter. He tells Brooke that he is asking for her forgiveness. Ridge wonders why she is even listening to any of this anymore? Nick begs – they have BOTH made mistakes. Don’t give up on what they have together. That would be the biggest mistake of all.

Taylor paces by the fire. Phoebe tells her she knows she is worried about Shane, but he’s not going to tell anyone. She can tell. Taylor laments it’s not about Shane. It’s her. She doesn’t know how she can ever be happy with Thorne while carrying this terrible secret inside. She wonders how she can take the place of the woman he loved more than anything in the world and she’s the one who killed her? Phoebe hugs her in comfort.

Stephanie returns to the house. Eric offers her a drink, but she declines. He says he saw her down by the pool with Donna Logan. How did that go? Stephanie offers that she did leave of her own volition. Eric cites to her that Nick Marone is there now with Brooke and Ridge. She replies, “the plot thickens.” He quips she has no idea. She might want to sit down for this. While she was out, Bridget came by………and she’s pregnant. And for a while, they thought it was Nick’s, but it isn’t. She guesses – Dante’s? He confirms it. Immediately she thinks of Felicia and makes a gosh-darn, oh fudgcicle face and sighs, when is all of this going to end?

Nick tells Brooke that they have been through more in their short marriage than most people in a lifetime. Ridge smarts “short, being the key word here, as in over already.” Nick chastises him for being so insecure that he can’t let him have a moment alone with his wife. Ridge announces that he’s not insecure at all. He’s just trying to protect her from him. Nick says they can get through this. Ridge fires up again. That this was just a side trip, a distraction. It never should have happened in the first place. Now, it’s over. Mostly because he proved himself to be a pig with no morals (that’s rich - takes one to know one). But mostly because Brooke now realizes she should have been with Ridge all along. He urges Brooke to just tell Nick it is over. Before she can answer, Bridget walks in. (just what this group needs, another player). She walks straight to Brooke and says she is sorry. Can her mother ever forgive her?

Thorne stands and talks to a photo of Darla. He tells her that Taylor has come to mean so much to him. That’s why he has to believe she will understand and be happy for him. He gets a phone call from a Mr. Weldon, who he tells he needs something very special and as quickly as he can put it together.

Phoebe tells her mom she just wants her to be happy. She wishes that could be with Dad, but Thorne’s a really nice guy. Taylor agrees that he is. But, if he finds out on his own, how does Phoebe think he will react? Phoebe remarks she doesn’t think he will ever find out. Taylor disagrees, she thinks he will and the only way she can live with herself is to be the one to tell him.

Bridget confesses that she has hurt Brooke so badly, if there is anything she can do to make it up to her? Nick tells her that she should just let him and her mother work this out, that would be best. Ridge quips that the guy just doesn’t get it. Bridget tells Nick that her mother really does need to understand what happened that night (yeah, dig the hole deeper). Again, Ridge quips that he thinks Brooke got it, it’s really pretty simple. Brooke says Bridget is right. They do need some time alone. So if the two of them could leave. Ridge opens the door and reluctantly Nick follows.

Brooke looks at a guilty Bridget and tells her that she slept with her husband. She was very judgmental and hated her. So is this some sort of revenge? Bridget urges her to just let her explain. Brooke wonders how explaining is going to help, especially coming from someone who’s been so judgmental of her. Bridget takes the blow and says okay, she’s a hypocrite and she knows that. But, at the time Nick thought his marriage was over. He took off his wedding ring. He was hurt that Brooke had left his bedroom and ran to Ridge. He called Donna and found out that Brooke was kissing Ridge. Brooke exclaims, “oh, my God. You are trying to make excuses for what he did. How could you do that? How could you excuse that, Bridget?”

Taylor continues with Phoebe and she realizes if she tells Thorne, he could tell the police. But, how can she continue on in her practice, giving motherly advice when she’s a living lie herself? Phoebe tells her she just doesn’t want her to go to jail. Taylor opines that she is so sorry that she drug Phoebe into this and let it go on so long. Phoebe says she is really scared about her going to jail, but she wasn’t all for lying either and she is proud of her for wanting to tell the truth. Thorne calls and Phoebe hands the phone to Taylor. Thorne says that is the voice he longs to hear. He realizes this is sort of last minute, but what would she say about coming up to Big Bear with him? He thinks they could use some alone time. They agree on tomorrow. Thorne grins and looks at his watch in anticipation.

Ridge and Nick walk into the Forrester house and Ridge opines that he doesn’t remember asking Nick to stick around. Ridge pours himself a glass of water and tells him to enjoy it while he can. She’s not going to be his wife much longer. Nick grouses that he’s delusional about his past with Brooke. He never made the woman happy. Ridge points out that he doesn’t see a happy woman over there now, does he? Nick answers that she would be if Ridge would leave her alone. Ridge thinks it’s phenomenal the way Nick keeps wanting to blame him for what HE did. Nick dumps it on him, “who are you to bring up morals to me, you PIG!” Ridge fires back that’s it, get the hell out of there. Stephanie interrupts and tells them to stop this nonsense please, they are acting like children.

Bridget remarks that no, she isn’t trying to make this Brooke’s fault. There is plenty of guilt to go around….and if she wants to save her marriage…..Brooke remarks and what makes her think she even wants to? She states that what Bridget did was bad, but what Nick did was ten times worse. She tells Bridget she is a beautiful woman, so any man would want to be with her. But, Bridget is her daughter. She is Nick’s wife’s daughter. And he knew how she felt about him, and he took advantage of that (don’t recall Bridget objecting). Ridge was right; Nick did it because of a hurt ego. Bridget announces that Brooke is wrong. Nick never forced himself on her. She wanted him. She wanted him because she cares about him, and he was hurting. “I love him, mom. I LOVE him and I probably always will.” But, she knew he was Brooke’s husband, and that’s why she is here. She’s ready to get on her knees and beg her forgiveness and hopes and prays she will not throw Nick out of her life for this. Nick loves her and he is the man that Brooke thinks he is. He’s reliable and secure and everything Brooke needs him to be. Brooke tells her not to make her laugh!

Bridget points out to her that she doesn’t think Brooke realizes the effect Ridge has on her. It’s pretty obvious to everyone that they share something very powerful and how that must make Nick feel….and knowing that she ran off with the great love of her life. She defends by saying that is ALL that it was. Bridget counters with that Nick didn’t know that. He had every right to be jealous and angry. He was drowning in pain. And he’s not the bad guy. She was the one that was sober. She confesses she knew what she was doing. She knew that Nick was acting out of pain, and not out of love. And she never should have let things go as far as they did. And she’s really sorry for that, and if Brooke wants to blame someone, then blame her. She cries it’s all right if Brooke wants to HATE her, but just please God don’t throw Nick out of her life over this.

Phoebe tells her mother that she found her old sleeping bad. Just in case things go really well and they decide they want to go camping up by the lake. “We can hope, can’t we?” Taylor says seriously she doubts he will want to go camping after what she has to say…she just hopes when she is finished, he doesn’t hate her.

Ridge tells his mother, she is right. This guy isn’t worth wasting his energy on. He tells Marone that he is Brooke’s past, and Ridge is her future. Adios. Nick says he will go wait by the pool. Stephanie tells him for his own sake, why doesn’t he see the handwriting on the wall? Nick tells her that Brooke is committed to him, and they will work this out. That is the handwriting he sees on the wall. He’s not really interested in her reality, now or ever.

Brooke tells Brooke that what happened with Nick happened and they certainly can’t erase it. Even though she wishes they could. So, she’s pregnant and Nick said it wasn’t his baby. So, whose is it? Bridget confesses that it’s Dante’s. It’s a mess. Brooke gives in and says how could she not forgive her? She’s her daughter. And she loves her so much…..she’s going to have a hard time ahead of her. Bridget says it will be so much worse though if she leaves Nick because of her. She states that he really does love her. Brooke says that is a decision she will have to make. And Bridget is right, she shouldn’t be part of it. Bridget adds that she just wanted her mom to know where he was coming from that night. And Brooke needs to know they are all to blame – her and Ridge, definitely Bridget and Nick. She tells her mom that she loves her and doesn’t want to hurt her (oops, little late for that).

As soon as she leaves, Ridge walks in. He states, “you married a bastard. Tonight you realized that. But Marone has a way of squirming his way back into your life. She admits she doesn’t know what to think. He thinks it is pretty black and white. She says Nick did betray her. Ridge agrees. That’s why it’s time to put Nick behind them and move on. He says he wants them to get back everything they threw away. But, he’s not going to get in the middle of something between her and her husband. She has to make a decision. She has to take off that ring and end her marriage. He states that they can have the most incredible future together. He cups her face and says, “you, me, R.J. and Hope. The family we’ve always dreamed of. I want that so badly. I want that so badly, Brooke, and I know you do too.” But, she is the only one that can make it happen. “Only you….and you CAN do it and you will. You will.” He puts all his thoughts into a kiss and they cling to each other.
