In Brooke’s bedroom, she is draped across the bed as Nick emerges from the shower. He’s humming and joins her in looking at the brochures of Thailand and Fiji and teases are they leaving any time soon? She laments she is looking for something special for Bridget and still feels guilty for not being there for her graduation from medical school. Nick reminds her even Bridget didn’t attend because of Darla. She wonders if she’d want a car? He follows her across the room and they clinch as he tells her he thinks Bridget would appreciate a dinner with her family. It was a hard year for her. With Darla and then also they had lost a child. She remarks it makes you appreciate the people you love even more. He tells her that when they are together like this, he feels like a very lucky man because he gets to show her how very much he loves her. They exchange a sweet kiss.

Taylor is sitting, crying and having flashbacks of Darla’s accident on her windshield. Thorne appears and asks why is she sitting in the dark? What is going on?

Hector’s buddy, Darryl, pops in and tells him that he thinks he screwed up. While Hector was at the prison today, somebody saw him there and is now asking a lot of questions.

Stephanie opens the door to Lt. Baker and tells him she is glad to see him. She was going to call him later today to see if there was any progress in Darla’s death. He opines how difficult it is without any witnesses. She is surprised and reminds him that her granddaughter was there and told him everything. She knows her description was pretty vague probably because she was traumatized. She questions Lt. Baker when he seems to be suggesting Phoebe may not have told him everything. He tells her she just might be onto something.

The cell phone interrupts Nick and Brooke’s kiss. He doesn’t want her to get it, especially when he hears it’s Ridge. He knows he’ll leave a message. She offers that she asked Ridge to cover the meeting while they had Nick’s board meeting, so she has to get it. It’s fairly quick and she tells him this is the last time Donna is going to do a disgusting display like that. She’s emphatic she doesn’t want to jeopardize the company, and they will talk about it tomorrow. Nick asks her if everything is under control? She says it will be when she goes into work tomorrow. He goodheartedly begs her not to go to that fashion business anymore. Please, he’s asking her. But, she tells him this is not fashion. This is what she loves to do. He makes a case that she would love Marone Industries too. He’s just asking her to give it a chance. She reminds him she has an office already at Marone, but that isn’t what he’s talking about, just being in the same building. He wants her there in his company, side by side. He tells her that he needs her, the company needs her. She placates him by suggesting they table this conversation for now……and think about OTHER things. He remarks yeah, it might be time. Time for what? Time to sing this little song that he wrote. He said he started to write it about The Shady Marlin, but it turned out to be about her.

Thorne turns on a lamp and sits beside Taylor on the sofa. He says he’d hoped to talk to her, but maybe another time. Because as much as it’s helping him, he thinks it’s hurting her. She dwells on how a person’s life can change in the blink of an eye. Lovingly, she holds his hand and asks what is he feeling? He replies – lost. And he wants to know who killed Darla. He doesn’t care if it was an accident or a cold-bloodied murder, he has to look this guy in the eye and tell him who Darla was. What she meant to him and his daughter. “And I want him to know the pain that she suffered, and for God’s sakes, I want him to suffer for it too.” He knows it’s wrong to feel this way, but he just can’t get past it. He blasts that he has so much anger inside himself that he is afraid this is all he will ever feel. And Alexandria, she needs him even more and all he can think about is finding the bastard who killed her mother and choking him with his bare hands. Demonstrating with his hands, he asks just why did this happen? Taylor replies that it was an accident. She knows because she was there……it was HER fault.

Hector is concerned when he finds out it was Lt. Baker asking the questions and that they had visited someone in for vehicular manslaughter. But, he figured Hector knew him because he sure as hell knew Hector.

Likewise Stephanie is surprised when Lt. Baker tells her that Phoebe and her mother were visitors at the prison today, and it was arranged by Hector Ramirez. Stephanie asks who? And then surmises perhaps it is a patient of Taylor’s. He concurs it could be except why would Phoebe and Hector be there? Stephanie replies she has no idea, but the one thing she does know is that her son needs an answer. He needs to know who killed his wife, and Stephanie needs to know that Lt. Baker is focusing on that. He assures her this case is his top priority. And whoever killed her daughter-in-law may be guilty of vehicular manslaughter….now if Hector was trying to make a point….He asks who had the most to lose? Stephanie gathers he is trying to zero in on Taylor.

Hector tells Darryl it’s okay. Lt. Baker is a friend and he’s probably only curious and wondering why a guy like him is with a lady like Taylor Forrester. Darryl chides him that he KNEW there was something going on between them. Hector says they are just friends. Darryl replies, “yeah, and friends don’t let friends drive drunk, right?” As he begins to figure things out, he promises Hector he won’t say anything. Hector warns him there is nothing to say, understood? They part saying they will see each other at the softball game next week.

Stephanie can’t believe Lt. Baker is serious, that Taylor is actually a suspect in his mind. “My God, it would almost be laughable if it weren’t so tragic.” She tells him she is out of his mind. He makes a scenario. Phoebe called her, frightened and alone on a busy road. Taylor jumped in her car without even thinking. She was thinking her daughter needed help. But, she had been drinking. He’d smelled it on her breath when they were at the hospital after they brought Darla in. He asks Stephanie if she was aware of her DUI and her suspended license? Technically, she should not have been driving at all. Stephanie counters with that she thought her daughter was in danger. She would have done the same thing. He opines she should have called the police. Stephanie thinks this is ridiculous. She knows her. She knows what kind of person she is. She would NEVER be involved in something like this, and if she had been, she would have come forward. He confides he is not suggesting it wasn’t an accident. She is livid. What he is suggesting is that Taylor killed Stephanie’s daughter-in-law, and now she’s using her own child to cover it up. He says it’s just a theory. She hopes he has more than one. He tells her they are working on some leads. She says good because Taylor is beyond reproach. She’s an honest woman. He points out that no one is beyond reproach. People make mistakes. She tells him HE is the one making a mistake here. And she points him toward the door. He says for the sake of her family, he hopes she is right. She is left flabbergasted.

Thorne refuses to listen to Taylor and doesn’t want to hear her say it again that if she had been there sooner, this wouldn’t have happened. She tells him she is trying to tell him something. But, his cell phone rings and he must rush out. He tells her Alexandria is at a friend’s house and if he’s late, she’ll start to think something is wrong with him too. He flies out the door with Taylor begging him to wait, come back.

Brooke is pleasantly surprised that Nick would have time to write a song about her. He confesses he did it on their honeymoon. The very first night when she was sleeping. She wants to know what it is called? He takes the guitar out of the case and says he will let her figure that out.

Taylor opens the door to Lt. Baker and asks if this is an official visit? He replies, “I may have found the person responsible for Darla Forrester’s death. Is that official enough for you?”

With flashbacks of their engagement and wedding and Brooke listening intently, Nick sings his little song, You and Me. They kiss as he vows – forever.

Stephanie is deep in thought with the recent words of Lt. Baker ringing in her ears. She shakes her head in concern when she remembers how emotional Taylor was with Thorne at the funeral.

Lt. Baker asks if Phoebe is there, she really ought to be here for this. She tells him that she is not. He plops down on the sofa and says he will wait. Does she happen to have a cold one, he’s off the clock now? She reveals there is no liquor in the house. He states there was the night of the accident. He’d found an empty bottle of wine when he came to question Phoebe. “Did I say something to upset you?” She offers that it has been a very long day. And she makes a bee-line and pours herself a large glass of water. He quips that there is nothing like a tall glass of water to steady the nerves. “Of course, it’s not as good as a nice, dry chardonnay.” And isn’t that what she was drinking that night? He smelled it on her breath that night at the hospital.

Taylor says she honestly doesn’t know what he wants from her. He comes up close behind her and reveals that he knows what she did. And he’s about five seconds from arresting her for it. So why doesn’t she do herself a favor and come clean. “The truth about what happened the night that Darla Forrester was struck. Tell me the truth, Doctor.”
