At Marone’s, Nick holds up the newspaper to Stephen and asks him if he’s seen this yet? Front page headlines are "Forrester Back in Brooke’s Bedroom" with a sexy picture in her trashy lingerie. Stephen thinks that Stephanie giving back Forrester to her ex-daughter-in-law is big news. Nick replies it would be, but she hasn’t taken the job yet. Concerned, Stephen asks if he’s talked to her? Nick grunts that she knows how he feels. Stephen opines that he’s gone by the house, but she wasn’t there and she won’t return his calls. Nick tells him she doesn’t want to be persuaded by him or anyone else. And she knows he doesn’t want her working with Ridge. Stephen offers if they could just get Taylor on their side. With her 2% and Brooke’s 50%, they could have controlling interest. Nick asks just who is “we” in all of this? Stephen informs him that it’s Brooke. After working like a scullery maid all these years, she can finally run Forrester without the Forrester’s….if they could just get Taylor’s shares. He confides in Nick what he overheard Taylor tell Stephanie – that essentially she bought Brooke as a present for Ridge. Nick quips that must have gone over well. Stephen reveals then Stephanie made a fatal mistake. She chose that exact moment to give Taylor her 2%. Taylor told her to get out. Nick says and Stephen just happened to be there with a sympathetic ear? Stephen answers that yes he had dinner with her. And he laid the whole thing out to her. Her 2% and Brooke’s 50% and they can finally let the Forrester’s know what it’s like to have their lives turned upside down. She said she wanted to sleep on it, and Stephen would call her and see what she was thinking. Nick tells him not to push her. Stephen reminds him that she is hurting. She feels like she has been kicked to the curb. As he punches in her number on his cell phone, he states, “and, we’re going to make her feel a whole lot better.”

Stephen catches Taylor in a bit of a hurry just before she knocks on Stephanie’s door. He asks if she has thought about what they talked about? She replies that is ALL she has thought about; she got no sleep last night. He starts in again and she interrupts and tells him she knows what he’s saying. It’s just that she’s not interested in seeking revenge on the Forrester’s. He points out this isn’t about revenge. She says – justice, redemption, whatever he calls it, she just doesn’t want to be a part of it. She declares she just wants to move on and close this chapter of her life. “I just don’t want to be like that, okay?” She tells him she is giving back her 2%. He begs for another chance to talk to her before she makes up her mind. She says she has already made up her mind. With that, she hangs up.

At Stephanie’s, Kristen is fussing over Ridge, who’s on the couch. She fluffs up the pillow behind his back and tells him to take it easy. He jokes any more easy, and he’d be asleep. Stephanie tells him just let Kristen fuss. As Thorne sips his coffee, Eric remarks how awfully quiet he is. Kristen pipes up to her mom to tell them how she came to give Brooke 50% of the company? Stephanie says she knows this looks like a complete turnaround. Kristen states that is an understatment, considering how she’s HATED Brooke for so many years. Stephanie offers that she can’t go back and change those. All she can do now is try to make amends. Kristen suggests she could just be nice. She didn’t have to give her 50% of the company. Sheepishly, Stephanie admits that’s true. Quietly, Thorne says, “50% of Forrester Creations is a very sweet deal.” Eric muses he thought he was okay with this? Thorne says whatever makes Ridge happy. Ridge answers this is NOT about him. Thorne fires back, “since when?” Ridge answers that Brooke deserves this. Stephanie steps in and says it’s a done deal. The decision has been made.

She grabs some manila envelopes and hands each one and tells them this is their stock certificates – Ridge and Eric and herself have 10% and each of them have 6%. Kristen asks why does Thorne get less than Ridge? Thorne speaks up and tells her he’s okay with this. He made some bad calls with the last stock. H tells his mother he’s grateful for the 6%. Felicia asks who gets the last piece of the pie? Stephanie says Taylor gets 2% since she’s part of the family.

Enter Taylor. She tells them that is such a load of bull. She tells Stephanie she gave her that stock to ease her own guilty conscience. To a stunned Stephanie, she points her gun finger and says, “but, you know what? I’m not the one who can be bought.”

As Stephen tells Nick what Taylor just said, he claims he just doesn’t get it. Last night she was furious. Now she just wants to put it behind her and sever all ties. Nick is not sure he can blame her. Stephen rants that THEY have been getting away with murder for years – to Beth, to Brooke and himself. It’s like they are nothing but pawns to them. Nick opines this is revenge for Stephen? He denies it, no, it’s about justice! It’s NOT about him getting back at the Forrester’s, but Brooke getting what she deserves…..…and he adds if Stephanie and Ridge get a little of what they deserve along the way, so much the better.

Stephanie generously offers for Taylor to come on in. Taylor remarks – to join the family? Stephanie says she IS family. Taylor says until something better comes along. Stephanie tries to say she is distributing……Taylor butts in and says, “oh yes, divvying up the spoils. Let’s do the math. We’ll say Brooke 50%, Taylor 2%.” Eric says he knows it sounds like a very small amount to her. She tells him it’s not about the money. She loves all of them. Kristen chimes in that they love her too. Taylor gets her digs in that oh really. She just went through a big divorce when she was dumped by her brother. And she knows Kristen lives thousands of miles away, but the last time she checked, they did have phone service in Florida. Kristen takes her lumps and tells her that’s true. Taylor had been there for her and Tony, and she’s sorry. Thorne tries to soothe the feathers and takes up for Kristen, but Taylor only comments that she thought she mattered to them. Eric responds by saying of course they care. She still doesn’t believe. How? The whole world thinks her marriage to Ridge was a joke. Ridge tells her that is not true. Eric reminds her she has three beautiful children together. She says, “sired by Ridge out of Taylor, the fool.” What was she? Some kind of brood mare? Just keep popping them out for King Ridge. Ridge tries to appease her. He gets up and approaches her but she lambastes him. How is she supposed to explain to her children that their grandmother wishes she had never come between their father and the woman he really loves?

Eric tells her she’s right. They should have been more sensitive. Stephanie even joins in and says they love her. She accuses them, “like you love Brooke? Are any of your emotions for real?” She blasts Ridge again when he tries to calm her down. Thorne tells her he knows what she is going through. She wonders if he does. He replies that no matter what you do, it’s never good enough. She tells him oh no, that’s his cross to bear. She was plenty good enough until he decided to come clean and shatter this perfect image when she decided to confess her sins. Thorne asks if she is really this upset about the 2%? She points her finger at him and bemoans this has nothing to do with money. And she asks how many times has he and Darla invited her over to their house for a barbecue with the kids? It never happens. Why?

Felicia reminds her that people get busy. Taylor swings around to her and attacks by saying yes they do. She was there for Felicia when she was fighting cancer. She even held her hand when she found out Dante was the father of her baby. But, where was Felicia there for her? Stephanie points out that she was fighting for her life. Taylor retorts that so was she FIGHTING for hers! She shouts that they were her life. She gave everything to them. And she thought they would always be there for her no matter what happened. Stephanie says they are here now. Taylor lashes out that yes, at another family gathering that she wasn’t invited to. Stephanie brings up that Taylor invited her to her office, but then threw her out when she gave her the stock. Taylor voices that she betrayed her. Heartfelt, Stephanie vows that she is sorry and Eric says she is part of the family. Taylor spits, “this isn’t a family. This is a dictatorship.” She mocks, “all of you bowing and scraping around like a bunch of drones around the Queen.”

Felicia tries to get her to stop, but Taylor continues with her mockery. Who’s going to have Stephanie’s favor today? Her husband, no he couldn’t possibly compete with…… (she gestures to darling Ridge). Taylor realizes what she is saying and thinks she’d better leave. Stephanie demands that if she has something to say, say it! Ridge advises everyone to just calm down. Stephanie asks Taylor if she wants to continue this in private? They just stare at each other. Stephanie tells the others to go away for a little bit. She and Taylor need to talk.

Stephen continues to lament to Nick that without Taylor’s 2%, they don’t stand a prayer of getting the Forrester’s out. Nick thinks this might all be for nothing since Brooke hasn’t even accepted her 50%. Stephen says he knows his daughter. Running Forrester Creations is a dream come true. Nick reminds him that she has other dreams now. And she doesn’t need to prove anything. But, Stephen relates a story that Beth told him about Brooke and chemistry class in high school. She’s always had to fight for what she wanted….and she wants this and she can have this without the Forrester’s if they can just get this 51%. “Now, come on. Can’t you see it? Stephanie, and Eric and Ridge marching out of Forrester headquarters with their little bags packed?” That this is a sweet image, and he’s just asking Nick for a way to help him make this happen.

The two of them alone, Stephanie tells Taylor that she realizes she is hurt and angry and wants to get even. Calmer now, Taylor says no, she’d rather just leave. Stephanie accuses her of hit and run. With certificate in hand, Taylor tells her she just came to give her back the stock. Stephanie tells her she doesn’t have to do that. Taylor replies she does. It’s an empty, meaningless gesture, she wants no part of. Stephanie opines if she knew it was going to be like salt in a wound, she never would have done it. Taylor goes on a diatribe how Stephanie stabbed her in the back, dismissing her and her entire marriage to Ridge….all the years she had raised his children….her grandchildren…..it was like it meant nothing. She was like a mother figure to her, her best friend. Stephanie tries to explain that she still is, but Taylor accuses her of betrayal and how could she ever trust her again? Stephanie asks if Taylor wants her to say that Ridge hasn’t loved Brooke his whole adult life? Because she can’t do that. It’s not the truth. She can see that hurts her, but it’s the reality of the situation, and Stephanie had to accept it.

Then Taylor throws up that when Brooke announced she was leaving Forrester, Stephanie was glad…glad because she knew she would have Ridge all to herself. Stephanie starts to say, she only wanted him to…..Taylor finishes….to be happy. Stephanie corrects her – all of her children to be happy. Taylor chuckles, come on, Stephanie, they are all alone here, “just you and me.” And that Ridge has always been the center of her world, always! He’s everything to her. Why is that? Stephanie says she’s the psychiartrist, why doesn’t she tell her? Taylor walks up and faces her and offers, “You are me, and I am you. THAT’S why you chose me as Ridge’s wife. Because we’re so much alike.” And that when Ridge rejected her, it was like he rejected Stephanie, and that hurt. She rants that to be dumped for a woman like Brooke. A woman she’d hated all her life. And she mocks, “and you still HATE because she has him and you don’t.”

Nick tells Stephen that he loves his daughter and that would be the only reason he’d help him. His buzzer rings and it’s Brooke, she wants to see him, to give her answer in person so he leaves Stephen hanging, telling him that ship has sailed, let it go.

Stephanie tells Taylor that she needs help. Taylor remarks that she was only telling the truth. She thought Stephanie liked that about her. Stephanie reminds her that she begged her not to tell Ridge about James. She’d said it was ancient history and nothing to be gained from it. Taylor says, except trust. Stephanie suggests that some things are better left unsaid. And she points out that Taylor has made a mistake, her mistake and she’s going to have to live with it….got to move on. Taylor shouts that she is moving on, but Stephanie says obviously not, if she’s standing there obsessing about Ridge. Taylor doesn’t think SHE is the one obsessing about Ridge. And Stephanie adds that she is not going to apologize for loving her son. Taylor looks her in the eye and says no, because a mother’s love is supposed to be pure, something beautiful? Stephanie lets that sink in and slowly gets her drift. She tells Taylor she thinks she’d better leave.

Taylor has more to say. She follows as Stephanie heads toward the door. How Thorne has always had to live in Ridge’s shadow. He was never good enough. And Kristen had to move half way across the world to get away from it. And Felicia hops from man to man hoping to get half the attention that Stephanie lavishes on Ridge. She really mocks her when she says and let’s not forget poor, lonely, Eric. The reason that Stephanie has so many problems in her marriage is NOT because of other women. She claims there is no passion in Stephanie’s marriage because she gives it all to Ridge. And the only reason that Stephanie ALLOWED Ridge to marry her, a woman like her, because she was no threat to Stephanie. Taylor tells her that she has no sexual hold on Ridge like Brooke does, and that’s what this whole thing boils down to. In her face, she remarks, “every time you saw Brooke running around in her sexy, skimpy, lingerie, that just drove you crazy because you knew she was giving him something that you wish you could, but didn’t dare.”

SLAP, hard across the face Stephanie delivers. Both women stand back, speechless. Only Taylor’s cell phone saves her. It’s Stephen and he says he knows she said she was going to give the stock back, but if she hasn’t done it already, he’d like another chance to try to convince her to keep it. She says she is on her way home; she’ll meet him there. She walks away but turns at the door and tells Stephanie, “you never should have done that.”
