At Brook’s, continuation of yesterday, where she stands and says Ridge came there for a reason? He says he wanted to explain (boy, has he done that over and over ad naseum without saying anything new). She says he already admitted that choosing Taylor was a mistake. He stares off in space, shaking his head and saying this never should have happened like this. She remarks that isn’t all he came there to say; please tell her that he’s going to leave Taylor. He finally looks squarely at her as she continues, “and that you want me and our children to move back to the house.”

Mass and Jackie step off the elevator to see Steph just as she is wheeled into the hallway by Dr. McClain. Mass spies her and gives Steph a hug; she is delighted to see him, probably less so for Jackie. She pats Mass on the back in return. Mark tells them she has one more EKG and if it pans out, she’s free to go. In her sweetest voice Jackie mentions all ‘this attention’ and who’d think she’d just had a heart attack? Mark says this won’t take long; Mass is welcome to stay and wait, which he and Jackie do. He offered that trying to protect her family and all this arguing with Brooke was really taking a toll on Steph. While Jackie counters with didn’t he think it a little strange that Ridge couldn’t decide between Taylor and Brooke and Steph has a heart attack and suddenly Ridge re-marries Taylor? He seems appalled that his wife is saying this; it was well known that Steph wanted them back together. “Jackie says, “yes, a dying wish. One she knew Ridge could not refuse.” He scoffs that she’s trying to make it sound like……you can not fake a heart attack.

Jackie says, “sure you can…..if you have enough money and a young doctor saddled with med school bills who wants to impress one of the hospital’s major donors.” Mass tells her to stop, it doesn’t make sense but she says it does make sense to her. He grows sterner as he walks away and turns to address his wife and says neither does her attitude make sense. He thought she was going to focus on her life and fix it one way or the other but it was never going to happen as long as she interferes in other people’s lives.

Put in her proper place, she offers that she was just trying to make an observation, that’s all. Yes, he replies – tainted, with her shameful history, no doubt. He states, ”I don’t think many mothers would stoop to your level of deception to protect their children.” She reflects quietly that she isn’t the only one and he comments he doesn’t want to hear about it, not another word! Dr. McClain has walked up and can’t but overhear and observe. Mass walks off.

At Tridge Mansion, Taylor is tying a wrap around her swimsuit as she joins Thomas and the twins around the pool area. They are making burgers. They ask if Ridge is with her or still at the hospital and Taylor is surprised that he isn’t home already with them.

Ridge turns from Brooke and says he doesn’t want to make another impulsive decision; he needs to think about this. Brooke says, “and I have to know, Ridge, yes or no. Are you going to leave Taylor or aren’t you.” Ridge glances upward, some divine answer up there? (pregnant pause)….”the answer is no,” she states. He says he doesn’t have an answer but she counters he can’t have it both ways. He can’t re-new his vows with Taylor and then be upset with her for moving out. (Duh, you go girl!). Brooke continues, “look, if you really think you made a mistake, you have to tell her. You have to undo this. But if you can’t do that, then why are we even dredging this up?” (my sentiments exactly).

Nick (shades on) opens the door, with Hope holding a toy fishing pole with plastic fish on it. “Ahoy there, sailors coming ashore.” Hope runs to Daddy’s arms proclaiming she caught a fish! Nick offers perhaps they ought to take that to Katherine to clean. Hope asks if Ridge is going to stay for supper and he stumbles his way out of that one by saying he’ll have to talk to her mommy about that (my bet is no, once again, chicken!) Nick comes and takes her out of Ridge’s arms saying they better go clean the fish before it gets smelly….nobody likes to eat smelly fish. As he points Hope to the kitchen, he turns at one last disapproving glance at Ridge. Brooke tells Ridge he should go, but he counters with they aren’t finished. She balances that she’s tired of doing this dance (hallelujah)…. ”you push me away and then you pull me back in. Well, if that is the best you have to offer, I’m better off alone.” (I hope he took the cotton out of his ears and had his hearing aid turned up loud and clear and takes heed).

Steph comes back from the tests and Mass accosts her and offers her a ride home when McClain releases her. She is surprised as she thought he and Jackie were spending the day together. He assures her not any more and she asks what happened? He re-assures her she doesn’t want to know; she guesses….the latest conspiracy theory about her heart. After all Steph has gone through, Mass thinks this is reprehensible. Steph confides she never saw what he saw in her from the beginning and he likewise confides “at this moment, neither do I.”

Jackie gets off the elevator to see Mass push Stephanie in her wheelchair back to her room. She is dabbing her eyes with a handkerchief when Dr. McClain walks up and asks if she is ok. She remarks he must have seen her and her husband arguing. He replies he wasn’t eavesdropping but he couldn’t help but see he seemed to be upsetting her. She counters that actually it was the other way around, that seems to be happening a lot these days. And that was ironic since they were trying to reconcile.

He immediately asked if that meant she would be moving out of Century View Towers? She was extremely surprised that he would know that but he said he’d just moved in. She perks up, “really?” and he replies yes he’d just purchased a place downstairs. She excuses herself and says she was surprised because she had given the doorman strict instructions to let her know when any attractive, young man moved into the building. (lots of wide eye contact, sly smiles and knowing looks).

One twin has her arms around Taylor while the other is standing besides Thomas. Taylor says she is sure Ridge will be home anytime; meanwhile she will just hang out and party with them. Thomas offers maybe she’d rather just be alone with Ridge, afterall they hadn’t had a honeymoon.

She tells him marriage is much more than that; you live with someone every single day of your life; it encompasses everything about you. And even though they’d had a major setback, they got through it because their marriage was built on love…..….and trust and that’s what made marriage so precious…and makes it sacred. (hey, Thomas, maybe now would be a good time to tell Mommy Dearest about your marriage with Gabi). Thomas segues way to Brooke; has anyone heard from her lately, wonder how she’s doing?

Ridge says he feels like he’s in an impossible situation here – Brooke says he could fix it by leaving Taylor…..but he won’t. He says he was concerned about Brooke, he just wanted to see her. Concerned, but not enough, she concludes to do anything about it. He seems she is being unfair. She looks him squarely in his eyes and says he made her wait weeks to see which one he would choose, which family would SURVIVE this chaos, and he chose Taylor. ….or his mother did…and either way, she had to accept it. “And I had to move on with my life. Now, you’re here, for what? What are you doing, Ridge, what do you want from me?”

Nick walks back in and states “Forrester, time for you to leave.” Ridge says this is between him and Brooke. Nick walks closer, “wake up, pal, there is no more you and Brooke. You made your choice…unless, of course, you’ve had second thoughts…and if you are, then step up and DO something about it (as his temper flares)….or keep it to yourself, but don’t go asking for absolution…or forgiveness or what the hell it is you want.”

Ridge doesn’t bat an eyelash “what I want is none of your business.” Mr. Buttinesky says, “go home, Forrester, you have plenty to handle there.” Ridge wants to know what does that mean. Nick steps right to his face and says, “it means leave this woman alone or you answer to me!”. Ridge crooks his head every so slightly with that ‘go away you pesky little gnat look’.

Thomas is having doubts; he doesn’t want his dad to come home and it look like they are celebrating, like winners or something. Taylor explains they aren’t lording their happiness over Brooke and her children and they shouldn’t feel guilty over simply living their lives. They all knew this transition would be challenging and the best thing to do was to be as understanding as possible and make it as easy as possible on everyone involved.

Ridge stands back and tells Nick he might have known he’d take advantage of this situation to which Brooke pops up and says he’s not. She explains that he took Hope fishing and he’d been the one who’d taken care of the house when she brought the children home. Dripping with sarcasm, “Mr. Johnny on the Spot; so convenient." She asks that he stop this, she is tired of all this arguing. She just wanted to move on with her life and focus on her children. …and if Ridge couldn’t make up his mind, she’d do it for him “Ridge, we’re over…no more second thoughts, no more apologies”. And she continues if he wants to see her, call first and if the children, then clear it also with her. “This is OUR home, not yours, you chose to be somewhere else”. (let’s hear a little Amen here please!)

Ridge closes his eyes, then raises them to look at Brooke as she has turned to open the door (don’t let it hit you on the way out buddy) as he steals past Nick. At the door he mentions Hope asked about supper. She says Hope will be fine….so will she….they both will and R.J. Reluctantly he seems to accept that and walks out. Brooke looks at Nick who winks back at her with a silent ‘good girl’ look.

Jackie catches Steph in the hallway, dressed, ready to go and asks if Mass is taking her home. Good, then he can drop her off too at the Boutique. Steph counters she may want to find another ride; Mass doesn’t seem to be in the most charitable of moods. Jackie snips “why, what did you say to him.?” Steph counters with it was more like what she had said to him about her (S). Jackie sits down on Steph’s level and offers, “I know how far a woman, a MOTHER, will go to protect her son.” Steph asks if she is equating her health problems with the deception that she pulled on her son….on Nick, hiding R.J.’s paternity? But Jackie continues if anyone is being deceptive here, it’s Steph. Stephanie says, “keep pointing the finger, Jackie. Keep showing Massimo how petty and vengeful you really are. And by all means, keep springing rumors about his oldest and dearest friend. Do that, and I won’t have to do anything to split you two up.” Steph leans closer with her hand besides her mouth to whisper in confidence, “I think at this moment your husband dislikes you almost as much as I do.”

An attendant comes out to have Steph sign some papers and Dr. McClain will be along in a moment. As he does, the attendant hands Steph a teddy bear, bouquet and brags on Steph that she was a model patient, so brave, never complained of the pain. Jackie is watching within earshot and mouths off “that’s because she didn’t have any”. Ever gracious, Steph shakes Mark’s hand and thanks him for all he has done for her and her family and tells him words will never express it adequately. Mark leans down and hugs her.

Mass pushes her onto the elevator and Dr. McClain turns to Jackie and remarks that she isn’t going with them? A itty bitty lightbulb goes off…she says no, actually she was there to see him. He’d mentioned he lived in her building and she wanted to invite him and his wife to a little dinner to welcome them. He remarks he’s not married…..(oh even better says the spider to the fly); she says dinner for two then….and he could tell her all about his work at the hospital. He starts to decline and she practically undresses him with her eyes as she coos, “oh, please….I am fascinated…. to know what’s it like to hold so many people’s lives in your hands…..and from what Stephanie says to me, you (holding finger toward him) are a bonafied miracle worker.” (he bought that, hook, line and sinker….ya think?)

Nick sits after bringing Brooke a glass of water. She asks about Hope; all is ok. She wonders if she asked about Ridge and he says yes, he told her Ridge had to go. He remarks, “you did the right thing today. You told Forrester exactly what he needed to hear.” She says she knows she has to stay strong for herself and the children and he says she will, but….if she needs any help…..she agrees she might. He checks first if she will need him, if not, then he has a few things to do and leaves. A big old tear runs down her face.

Thomas is turning the burgers when Ridge walks up. They tease him that where’s his swimsuit, he can’t be Marco Polo like that. Taylor sidles up and asks where he’s been and unashamedly he says with Brooke; he’s hurt her so much (all the while with both hands on Taylor’s shoulders, caressing, massaging, etc.). He remarks he’s let R.J. and Hope down and he feels he’s let Taylor down too. He really wants this to be a celebration for his family, but he can’t. Thomas says it’s ok. Ridge continues that he’s being pulled in two different directions and it was sorta difficult for him.

They all chime in that they love him, no matter what he does, that will never change and they are there for him. Now a big group hug.

Meanwhile at Brooke’s, she is standing all alone in a big old living room with tears streaming down her face as Hope walks in and asks if she needs a hug. Yes, that is just the thing she needs and she now feels better.
