Eric is running around giving directions to the people who are decorating the house for the wedding., when Felicia and Kristin arrive for the wedding.

They ask where their mother is, and Eric says that she’s back at the house, and that Brooke is over there trying to convince her to come. He says he doesn’t think she’s gonna have much luck. (Ya think???)

“How dare you say something like that to me!” Says Stephanie to Brooke. Brooke tells her to just admit that she’s obsessed with Ridge. She says that’s what caused all the problems with Thorne, and why Kristin and Felicia left, “they can’t compete!, For you, it’s all about Ridge!” Says Brooke.

Stephanie says that if she has focused too much on Ridge, it was to protect him from Brooke. “Oh yes, my unhealthy obsession! Talk about projection!” Says Brooke. Stephanie tells her to stop the psychobabble, “You can’t blame me for your issues, it’s not my fault that you’re a slut!” She says. (Hahahahaha) Brooke says that Stephanie can’t bait her anymore because she knows what’s going on now. “You want me out of Ridge’s life so you can have him all to yourself.” She says.

“You named your new ship Hope?” Says Ridge to Nick. Nick doesn’t respond. Ridge tells him that he can still be a part of Hope’s life.

“Why are you really here, Forrester?” Nick says. Ridge says that Brooke would like him to be at the wedding. Nick tells him to forget it. Ridge says he would like to forget the whole damn year, but he can’t.

All of Giovanni’s people are doing a complete makeover on Caitlin. Makeup, hair, etc. “You’re a natural.” Rick says. “A natural? They’re dying my hair and covering up my face!” Caitlin says. They tell her that in LA that’s as natural as it gets.

“Mother isn’t coming to the wedding?” Asks Kristin. “What? Ridge is her favorite!” Says Felicia. Eric says he wouldn’t say that. Then he tells them not to bring that up in front of their brothers. Felicia asks him what’s going on. Eric starts to say that this is Ridge’s wedding…but Kristin says that if Eric doesn’t tell them that they’ll just ask Ridge. Eric says that Ridge is talking to Nick right now. Felicia explains to Kristin that Nick is Brooke’s former fiancé. Kristin says that Ridge is probably warning him to stay away from the wedding. “Actually, no, he’s inviting him.” Says Eric, to the chagrin of both his daughters.

Ridge tells Nick that they can’t erase the past, all they can do is move forward. “How poetic.” Says Nick, and says that either way, he’s not coming to their “party.” Ridge says that Brooke knows it isn’t easy for Nick, but that she wouldn’t have asked if it wasn’t important to her. Nick says that she didn’t ask, she sent her whipping boy to do it. Nick tells Ridge it must be nice riding the top, he has his future, his family to raise, “You’re happy, she’s happy.” Ridge asks him if he would like it better if Brooke wasn’t happy. He says he’d like it better if he knew it was gonna last.

“Either you accept me as Ridge’s wife, or you won’t be a part of our family.” Says Brooke to Stephanie. Stephanie says that she’s Ridge’s mother. Brooke says that’s why Ridge is giving her one last chance and inviting her to the wedding, and why she (Brooke) is asking her one last time. “Don’t bother.” Says Stephanie. Brooke says this could be a defining moment. Stephanie says indeed it is.

Brooke says that her children and Stephanie’s grandchildren are over at their house right now waiting to celebrate her relationship with Ridge, and if Stephanie doesn’t join them, she will be sending the message that she’s just a bitter old woman who would rather stew in her own hate than accept what Brooke is offering. “And what exactly are you offering?” Asks Stephanie. Brooke says a place in the Forrester family. “You’re offering me a place in my own family?” Asks Stephanie, very quietly and deliberately. She then proceeds to tear up the wedding invitation and toss it into the air.

Giovanni has Caitlin behind a drafting table, he’s telling her to be a woman in charge of her destiny. “Everything you do is a success.” He says. “So I should look confident.” Says Caitlin. Rick tells her she always looks confident. There’s jazzy music playing in the background, and as Caitlin strikes many different poses, Giovanni snaps away. In the background, Thomas is seen coming through a door and watching what’s going on. Soon it’s all over, and Giovanni says from what he’s seen it’s going to be amazing. Thomas walks up and tells her how great she looks and gives her a hug.

Caitlin looks at Rick over his shoulder, who is a bit uncomfortable seeing them hug.

Ridge starts to walk off the Shady Marlin, and as he does, Nick tells him to make Brooke happy or else. “What? Are you gonna come looking for me if I don’t?” Ridge asks. “Naaaa.” Says Nick, “But I’ll make sure she knows where to find me.” As Ridge looks at him with a half smile, Nick tells him that his gift is in the mail. Ridge leaves, and Nick lights up a cigar, throwing the box of matches roughly to the side. He picks up the invitation and looks at it again, as his head becomes enveloped in smoke.

“Fine.” Says Brooke. “If this is what you want.” And she turns to walk out. Stephanie says that’s just the point, it’s NOT what she wants. Brooke tells her to go ahead and boycott the ceremony, exile herself from her children and grandchildren, the whole family. Stephanie says that’s not what she’s doing. What she’s doing, she says, is saving herself from watching Ridge make the biggest mistake of his life. Brooke says that today is the first day of a brand new era. “I really couldn’t wait for this day to come.” She says she thought she’d feel victorious, but she just feels kind of sad. She says that Stephanie had always put her family first, and that was something that Brooke had always admired about her. “You would do anything for your family, but you couldn’t do this…you couldn’t let go.” She says that now Stephanie is going to be left with nothing. Then she turns and walks to the door. When she starts to walk out, she turns and tells Stephanie that she feels sorry for her. Stephanie is left deep in thought.

Felicia and Kristin are talking to their father about the situation with Stephanie and Nick, when the twins come in all decked out in formal gowns. They’re excited to see their two aunts. Felicia and Kristin can’t believe how much they’ve grown. Eric says that’s what they get for staying away so long. The twins say they’ve been working on writing a poem for the wedding, and want to know what rhymes with marriage. No one can think of anything, and tell them to keep working on it. Kristin says they better call the house and make sure that their mother hasn’t shipped Brooke off to Timbuktu or something. Eric tells them to not even joke about it, that this is a very important day for the family, and the unity of the family. And he hopes that their mother and Nick will find some way to make peace with that.

Nick is sitting at the bar, with a bottle of Tequila in front of him, drowning his sorrows. Stephanie walks in and takes the seat beside him. She says she thought she’d find him there. He looks at her suspiciously. “I’m not going you know.” He says to her. “You don’t think I came all the way down her to talk you into going do you?” She says, as she tries to dust off the bar a bit. “If you came for some Brooke-bashing, you came to the wrong place, I’ll tell you that right now.” Says Nick. Stephanie says that actually she came for a drink. She reaches across Nick, picks up the bottle of Tequila, and proceeds to put it up to her lips and take a huge long swallow as Nick watches. When she finally comes up for air, he hands her a napkin as she makes a grimace. She delicately blots her lips. (Hilarious!!!)

Ridge arrives at the house and greets his sisters warmly. Eric asks him how it went with Nick. He says that he hopes Brooke has better luck with his mother. At that moment Brooke shows up at the door.

Caitlin and Thomas walk back to Caitlin’s office. Thomas says she looks so different. “You like it don’t you?” She says. He says what’s not to like. Then he looks around her office and says how great it is. Rick walks up behind them as Thomas is again saying how different she looks, and how he thought she looked great before too. Rick says that Ridge wanted to update the look. Thomas asks if she would like to give them all a preview by going to the wedding with him. She hesitates, looking over at Rick, who says nothing, and finally she agrees to go with him, leaving Rick looking a bit let down.

Darla and Thorne arrive at the house, and greet everyone. Thorne is surprised to see Felicia and gives her a big hug. She asks them where Alexandria is, and Darla says she thinks Alexandria has had her fill of weddings for a while. Felecia says she’s sorry she missed her because she’s heard she’s beautiful. “I guess your schedule cleared up huh?” Says Thorne. Felicia says she couldn’t miss “Ridge and Brooke, The Final Chapter” that’s a must-see event.” Kristin says unfortunately not everyone feels that way. “What’s going on?” Asks Thorne. Eric tells him that his mother isn’t coming. Thorne says “But everyone’s here, even Felecia came in.” Brooke says that Stephanie is determined to fight this to the end. Eric says she’ll come around. Brooke says that she didn’t show signs of it today. Eric says to just give her some time to clear her head and it will all start to make sense. Brooke looks skeptical.

Stephanie is tying on a big one. As she pours another drink for Nick, she says, “My concern for my son and his family was a reign of terror, according to Brooke.” Nick says they agreed, no bashing.

Nick picks up his drink, and Stephanie picks up her bottle, and they both down a big one, although Nick’s done way before Stephanie breaks the lip lock she has on the bottle. Nick’s amused by Stephanie at this point. (And I’m cracking up!) “How did this happen?” She says drunkenly. “Why am I here drinking, while my family rallies around her? How is it possible?”

Nick tells her he really doesn’t want to know the history. But she continues. “You know, she had the audacity to offer me a place in my own family.” She says “All I had to do was bow to the Queen, to the new Forrester matriarch.” “I thought that was you.” Says Nick. “It is me.” Says Stephanie. “Then you should be at the wedding.” Says Nick. “I tore up my invitation.” Says Stephanie. No problem, says Nick, handing her his. She refuses it. Nick tells her that she may hate Brooke, but she’s still Ridge’s mother. That gets her thinking. (In her condition, not a good thing!)

Brooke tells Ridge that she’s sorry she couldn’t convince Stephanie to come. Ridge says it’s probably for the best. Brooke says that she tore up the invitation. Ridge says if that’s the way she feels, they’re lucky she’s not showing up. “What were we thinking anyway? Having mother and Nick here? That would have been a total disaster.” He says.

Back at the bar, Stephanie has gotten even drunker, and has been stewing about what Nick said. She sits at the bar, leaning on her hand, and watching the dart players.

She reaches over, takes the dart out of his hand, and stabs it into the invitation, right into Brooke’s face. “You’re right!” She says. “I’m going to that wedding!”
