Ridge is pleasingly surprised to find Taylor in his front room.
He rushes to give her a hug. He closes his eyes with joy as he holds her. When he opens his eyes, he finds that she has disappeared in his arms. He turns to find her standing across the room by the mantel. Taylor explains that she is there in spirit. Ridge is confused. He felt her when he hugged her. Taylor tells him that she is always there with him and the kids. Ridge wants more than just memories. Taylor tells him that he has so much more than that. Ridge tells her how horrible his life is now. Taylor understands how he feels. When he lost her, he thought he would never love again. Taylor reminds him that he did find love again with Brooke. When Ridge comments that Brooke is now gone too, Taylor asks him if he really believes that the two of them are through. Ridge tries to figure out what Taylor is trying to tell him.
Taylor says that even though her and Brooke were at odds for all those years, she has seen into Brooke's heart and knows that she has changed. She is happy that Brooke can be there for him. But Brooke isn't here he tells her. That is his and the kids reality now. It hurts like hell. Taylor understands, but urges Ridge to have faith in life. She tells him what a wonderful father he is and that everything will work out the way it is supposed to. She takes him by the hand and leads him first to Thomas' room. Thomas has fallen asleep with a book.
When Ridge picks up the book, he finds a picture of Caitlin on Thomas' stomach. He shows the picture to Taylor explaining that she is their son's first crush. They talk about what a wonderful person Thomas is turning into. Taylor tells Ridge that is because he is so wonderful with Thomas. Next they go into the twins room to talk about how good the girls are also. They remember together the music box they gave the twins on their first Christmas. Taylor explains that as long as they all have each other, they have everything they need. When Ridge replies that he also wanted Brooke's child to be his, Taylor again tells him to have faith, it will all work out for the best.
When they get back to the front room, Ridge tries to make sense of all that Taylor has told him. He reminds her that he has only loved three women in his life. Her, Carolyn, and Brooke. Now he only fills an incredible emptiness that can not be filled. Taylor assures him that 'It will be filled, my love -- from the most unexpected place.'
She then slowly fades away. We see Ridge asleep on the couch as if this has all
been a dream.
Massimo comes downstairs to find Jackie looking through a picture album. She
explains that she was feeling a bit restless so she decided to come down and
have a nightcap. Jackie asks if the picture in the photo album is Taylor. Mass
confirms that it is and agrees that she was a beautiful woman. He tells Jackie
that Ridge and the kids were Taylor's whole world. He explains that losing
Taylor and now losing Brooke is such a terrible double tragedy. Jackie hopes
that Mass understands that she didn't mean to upset Ridge earlier. Mass tells
that earlier she made is sound like because Ridge had his time with Taylor, now she thinks it is Dominick's turn to be happy with Brooke.
He tells her that it has nothing to do with 'turns'. He wants both his boys to be happy. Jackie assures him that she does too. He kisses her goodnight, tells her not to be too long and heads upstairs to bed. Jackie heads back to the bar to pour another drink that she obviously doesn't need.
She is assuring herself that her precious Nicky is the father of Brooke's baby. Oscar comes in and sees that she is feeling no pain. He asks if she is okay. Jackie assures him that she is just celebrating because she got to see her beautiful grand-baby on the ultrasound today. She tells him that the baby looks just like his father.
Oscar asks if she means Nick. 'Of course like Nicky. Who else would I be talking about?' she beligerently asks. She informs him that she would make a pact with the devil before she would have Nicky give up his child. Oscar wonders if she is so happy, why she is downstairs all alone getting sloshed. Jackie denies getting 'sloshed', she is just celebrating.
When Oscar asks if her and Mass had words, Jackie explains that they just see things differently when it comes to Ridge and Nick. She finally tells him that she doesn't want to talk about this anymore. Oscar excuses himself to go to bed and heads upstairs. Jackie sits down again and starts to look at the photo album again, but decides she would rather have another drink instead. She heads back to the bar and pours herself another good stiff shot.
As she turns around she comes face to face with a not very happy Taylor and demands to know what she is doing there.
