The Bold & The Beautiful Update Tuesday 4/3/01

By Linda C

Brooke asks Thorne to stop to see Rick on their way home. Rick is taking this
break up hard but she hopes he isnít having second thoughts. He is hurting
because he gave that relationship everything he had but the pain he is
suffering now is nothing like what he could have suffered if Amber stayed in
his life. Thorne wonders if she is sure this is best for Rick. She is sure,
but feels a bit guilty for inviting Amber into his life years ago when she
hired her. She should have been around more and kept her eye on her. She
brings up the diamond bracelet that was missing before and showed up in the
safe. The way Amber tricked Rick into a marriage by lying about Beckyís baby
and forcing Rick to marry her and fall in love with a child that isnĎt his.
Thorne reminds her that Rick is the one who proposed to Amber. It was his
idea. Brooke decides that he is only 20 years old and not ready to make that
kind of decision. She never should have given him her blessing. Thorne says
there isnít going to be a wedding, Rick called it off. Brooke is sure this is
going to be hard on everyone involved. She had to interfere, she already let
Rick down once and was not going to let it happen again. She hopes Thorne
understands. Yes, he knows how she feels about Amber. It is not Amber, it is
Rick, he is growing and maturing and she feels he needs to experience things.
Thorne thinks marriage is showing maturity and responsibility and what if he
loves Amber and Eric so much he takes them back?
.
Rick visits Eric but he isnít home. He stays to talk to Stephanie. He lets
her know that he and Amber broke up. She canít believe it, they have been
doing all the planning for the wedding and she knows Amber loves him. He
thinks things have changed but Steph assures him that isnít so. She knows it
has been rough on the two of them since they have been forced apart. She
thinks it must be stressful for Amber to have to watch Deacon bond with the
baby. Rick thought that was the case too but that isnít what has been going
on over there. She wonders what he means, is there something between Deacon
and Amber. She thinks that is ridiculous. He tells her that he saw the two of
them kissing. Stephanie is shocked. She wonders if he confronted them. He
admits, he just got out of there as fast as he could. She thinks he should
talk to her about it, let her give an explanation. He says she never gave an
explanation and he didnít tell her he saw them. Steph thinks he should tell
her, there has to be a reason and he shouldnít let jealousy stand in the way.
He claims it is not jealousy, it is disgust and itís hurt. She betrayed him
after telling him to be patient things were going to work out and he doesnít
think if she came up with an explanation, he could forgive her for this.
Steph wants to get this straight, he is no longer in love with Amber. No, he
says, he loves Amber and probably always will. Then he should tell her, not
give up and walk away. He thinks she gave up on him. Steph asks if he is
going to let Deacon win and give up on the baby. He doesnít want to lose
Eric, he is his son. She points out that he is also still in love with Amber.
More than anything but he wonít be taken advantage of or lied to again. She
says he needs to find the facts, it is all pure speculation on his part. He
thinks Brooke may be right, Amber isnít the girl for him. She thinks he is
just hurt and angry if what he is saying is true and they are involved. But
she doesnít think he should jump to that conclusion on just one kiss. He has
no idea what else is going on, Amber has been there for a long time. She
offers to go with him to confront Amber. He refuses to go. She says she will
go without him. She isnít going to let him end this relationship after all he
has been through and not without knowing what is going on. She will go and
find out. She leaves.
.
Deacon tries to comfort Amber when she cries about losing Rick, the man she
loved so much. He didnít give her an explanation, there has to be a piece of
the puzzle missing. She just canít understand it, they were going to be a
family. Deacon figures something must have happened to change his mind. She
isnít sure this has anything to do with Amanda, Rick seemed angry. Deacon
canít understand why he should be angry when he was the one to cheat on her.
She doesnít believe that either. That is not the kind of man Rick is. Deacon
thinks he is not a man, but a kid and his mother hates her so Rick finally
caved. Amber is sure if Rick wanted to get married, nothing would have
stopped him. Deacon says he may be his friends. She asks if he thinks Rick is
ashamed of her. No, no one could be ashamed of her, she is amazing. Then, she
wonders why this happened. He feels if they arenít meant for each other, they
just arenít made for each other. He thinks she needs to admit that she and
Rick just arenít a good match. She must have been delusional. How could she
ever be Mrs. Rick Forrester and a part of his family. Amber Moore from
Furnace Creek, a nobody. Deacon snaps at her, he doesnít want to hear her
talk like that again. She claims she is worse than a nobody, she is a nobody
that thinks she is somebody. She thought coming to LA would make her a big
movie star. He thinks that could still happen. No, that is not what she wants
anymore, she met Rick and fell in love and all she had to do was stay there a
couple of months with Deacon and her fairy tale would have come true. There
are no happy endings for people like her. She is a loser. No matter how close
she comes to her dream, that is all she is going to be, a loser. Deacon looks
like he feels bad. He tells her she is not a loser. She thinks Rick and
Brooke do. He doesnít think she should care what the Forresters think. She
says they are not like that. He wonders if she is missing the part that the
Forresters did so much for her and took her in with open arms. She says
Stephanie did. He says the rest of them fought her every step of the way and
she bought into it. She is trying to judge herself by their standards. She
canít do that, itís not right. She shouldnít base her feelings about herself
based on the way they feel about her. She quips, why thank you Dr. Sharp. He
says it is true and she is an incredible woman. If the Forresters canít see
it then forget them. She doesnít need them to validate her. She has him and
even if she doesnít see it, he thinks she is going to have a great future.
She doesnít think so. He goes to plan B. He tells her to sit. He wants to
have a toast, a tribute to her and says he thinks her future is going to be
as incredible as she is.

Thorne and Brooke discuss the photos and her involvement in Amber seeing them
as Stephanie listens in by the open door. Brooke doesnít thinks the photos
would have done anything to their relationship if it was solid. Thorne asks
if she thinks Amber would have kissed Deacon if she hadnít seen the photos.
She doesnít know, but she is sure the photos didnít break them up. They
broke up because they couldnít communicate. Amber saw the pictures and her
insecurities got the best of her, she turned to Deacon and Rick saw the kiss.
It didnít have to end their relationship, but it did. They couldnít be
honest with each other and if they canít be honest with each other, they
donít belong together. He says she has a point there. She is glad she could
work their magic before they got married. He understands she did it for her
son and no one has the right to blame her for that, well, except his mother
and he advises her not to let her get wind of it. She wonít, what Stephanie
doesnít know, wonít hurt her. She thanks him for his support. He wants to
get home. She needs to finish a report first. He leaves. She picks up the
photos and sits at her desk to look at them when the door slams. Stephanie
stands there shaking her head no and asks how Brooke could do this to her own
child.
