Chris is sleeping and dreaming of Allison telling him that she knows that he still loves her, even after all that she has done to him. He wakes up for a few, then goes back to sleep.

Allison is on the phone confirming her reservation on a bus leaving at 11:50 tonight for Chicago. Susan finds her when she hangs up and wants to know why Allison asked for her paycheck early. Allison tells her that she needed some extra cash. Susan doesn't understand this since she just gave her 2000.00.

Allison tries to explain that there is a big sale going on, and she wanted to buy some stuff for the baby. Susan doesn't believe that and demands that Allison tell her why she needs the money.

Mitzi wakes up and realizes she is in the hospital. She is a bit groggy and disoriented. Craig calls on her cell phone and demands to know what she did. He wants to know if she told Lily that she saw Paul put something in Rose's drink like he told her to. Mitzi drifts in and out of sleep and can't answer him.

At the police station Walker informs the group that the methanol that was in Rose's system is not the same as what was in the goblet. Lily and Dusty still think it was Paul that poisoned her, and they believe he also poisoned Mitzi. They are outraged that Paul may be let go to walk the streets. Paul asks Rose to let him go before the real killer gets away.

Barbara goes through Rose's whole place. She is desperately looking for something. Hal walks in after she has destroyed the place and asks her if she is looking for something.

Rosanna comes in after Craig's call to Mitzi. She tells him that she knows she has not been spending much time with him and their family. Craig agrees with her that he didn't like her going to Barbara's, but he is sure that Paul is a murderer, and she could be in danger. Rosanna thinks he is being silly, but she promises she will have more time to spend with the family after Paul is cleared of these ridiculous charges. Craig tells her not to hold her breath.

Carly and Jack are in his office arguing about Mitzi again. Carly just doesn't understand why he can not see Mitzi for who she really is. Jack finally tells her that if she can prove who poisoned Rose and Mitzi, they have something to talk about. Carly admits that she doesn't and Jack tells her to let him get back to work. They kiss goodbye and Carly leaves, wondering to herself who poisoned Mitzi.

Paul tells Jessica to get him out of here, she tells him that she is trying. She warns him not to get thrown back in jail by punching Dusty. Paul assures her that he is going to be fine and Jessica leaves. Paul tells Jennifer to go on and go home. He wants her to call Rosanna and tell her what has happened with Walker. Jennifer reluctantly leaves.  Lily asks Paul what he meant when he said the 'real' killer.

Paul tells her that Rose haunts him too. He knows he hurt her. Dusty comments that he killed her and tells Lily he is taking her home. Paul tells Lily that he knows she is afraid that whatever has happened will let a killer go free but Paul will not let that happen.

Barbara has to cover for ransacking Rose’s place now that Hal has found there tearing things apart. Hal tells her that Mitzy has just been poisoned with the same poison that killed Rose. Barbara acts surprised to hear that. Hal asks her questions. There was a glass from Jessica. The glass didn’t kill Rose, but something in the house did. What was Barbara looking for? Barbara only says that she was trying to help out.

An officer comes from the back rooms in Rose’s house, saying that he has everything that they need to do a toxic tests to see if there is something that could have hurt Mitzy. Barbara sees the man with the box of items from Rose’s bathroom. She shouts out to the man, after he lists the things in the box, “NO!!!!!!!!!” The officer only gives her a strange look and heads out with the box of items. Mouthwash…toothpaste…deodorant… Barbara seems to be acting like she has been beaten.

Hal can see that he has her this time. He asks her what it is that he is going to find out about one or some of the items that the officer has taken out. Barbara tells him that they should go now and they calmly walk out of there, with Hal following closely.

Susan is upset that she gave Alison $2,000 and the girl seems to need more money. Alison only says that she has been buying things for the baby. Susan soon apologizes for being nosey. Alison says that she will be moving out that night and that she would like to be alone with her baby at the house. The book that Alison has been reading says that Alison will be nesting. Susan sees that her nest will be empty now. Alison rushes to her mother and hugs her closely. She doesn’t want her mother to stop being a close mother to her. Susan thinks that they are going to have so much fun when the baby comes. Susan’s shift is almost over and she would like to walk her daughter out, but Alison has one last thing that she has to do.

Alison goes to Chris who is sleeping in a room nearby. She leans over him as he sleeps and she tells him that she loves him so much and wishes that she could be with him. She is saying goodbye. She moves to touch Chris’s face, but a hand grabs hers and stops her.

It is Tish. She tells Alison that she has to stop bothering Chris. She knows that Alison has a husband and she orders Alison to go and talk to him.

Alison does go to see Aaron who is at work. When asked if she has spoken to Chris about the baby, Alison only says that she has told Chris everything that he needs to know.

Jennifer comes to see Rosanna who is with the baby. She thanks her for her help and tells Rosanna that there could be an eyewitness to Paul poisoning Rose. Now Mitzy is in the hospital with poison in her veins. Rosanna sees that they have to protect Paul and so she decides to rush to the station to see how she can help.

Craig is in the room now and he is not happy with what he is hearing. Rosanna is sorry but she has to do this. He has heard what is going on at the station and can’t believe that Paul is going to be freed. He doesn’t care; he still has Mitzy to put the man away.

Hal tells Paul that Barbara has been arrested. She stares at the men from a nearby office.

Hal comes to see Barbara who tells him that she would like to call her lawyer. Hal offers her the phone.

Jack says that Barbara isn’t saying anything about what she has done, but is a bit jumpy in the office. Hal has to deal with Barbara. Jack knows that Hal is going to have a hard time charging his wife. Hal has loved her for so long. And now this. Jack heads to the hospital.

Paul enters the office where Barbara is waiting for Hal. She still has nothing to say. Barbara knows that Paul has questions, but does he really want to know? Barbara knows that he said that he would like to avenge Rose’s murder and now here he is. She dares him to call the DA on her. Paul knows that after everything that she has done, he deserves the truth. She offers to give it to him now.

Carly asks Mitzy why she lied. Was she the killer? Mitzy reminds Carly that she has just been poisoned. Carly feels that Mitzy might have done that on purpose.

Outside the room, Craig is listening to Carly and Mitzy talking. Mitzy is saying that she said what she did for justice.

Carly knows that Lily is going to be upset with Mitzy for mucking up the investigation and that will be the end of Mitzy’s meal ticket.

Dusty is at Lily’s house and telling her that there is another way to get to Paul. Holden comes in telling Dusty that it is very late. He says goodnight to Dusty and the man reluctantly leaves. “I’ll call you.”

Lily turns to Holden asking why he did that just now. Holden has had enough.

Barbara knows that it is time for the truth. Barbara knows that there are things that Paul doesn’t want to know or see.

Walker is working still in the lab.

Barbara tells Paul that Rose wasn’t good enough for the family, including Paul. Everyone could see it but Paul. He couldn’t see it.

Hal is at the lab with Walker and getting valuable information.

Barbara was trying to make Paul see how weak Rose was. She wanted Paul to see her true colors, but she managed to get Paul back. Then she dumped Paul, but Paul wasn’t angry with Rose. He was angry with Barbara instead. Then he did the unthinkable. He pursued that woman and won her back and that was when he let Rose break him into a thousand pieces.

Walker gives Hal the envelope that he needs and Hal heads out with it.

Jennifer and Rosanna show up in time to find Barbara with Paul. Paul demands to know what it is that Barbara has done. She has said enough. She proclaims that she is his mother and she should be respected. Jennifer demands to know what is going on. Paul asks her again to finish this. Barbara says no.

Hal enters the back office where Barbara is being confronted and he tells her that she doesn’t have to say what she did as Hal knows, Hal found out what she did. Barbara turns to her in horror.

Chris finds a hair clip and recognizes it as Alison’s.

That brings him back to a time when they joked over that same clip.

Tish brings Chris out of his dream. She would give a million dollars to know what he has been thinking about.

Alison lies to Aaron, telling him that Chris shouldn’t be approached about the baby. She makes him think that Chris knows the truth.

Jack shows up at the hospital and hears Carly going at Mitzy. He orders her out of the room saying that he has to ask Mitzy about the poisoning.

Mitzy says that she has no idea who was leaving the house. Jack is done with the questions and tries to leave, but Jack tries to make her stay. He has to go and heads out.

Mitzy grabs her cell phone, but sees that someone is entering. She tries to hide her cell phone but Carly returns and sees her hiding it.

Carly tells Mitzy that it doesn’t matter who she was trying to call; when this is all worked out, Mitzy will have a room with bars on it.

Hal tells all in the office at the station, that Rose’s body had methanol in it, but that her stomach didn’t have the poison in it. Jennifer is horrified at what she is hearing and covers her mouth in horror. Hal threatens to get tough with her but Barbara tells him that there is no need for that, as she will give him all the information that he needs. She looks up into Paul’s face, trying to find some type of sympathy for her situation but he has nothing for her.

Alison is waiting for a car to come and take her to the bus station. She only needs one ticket, as she is never coming back to Oakdale.

Mitzy tells Craig on the phone that he better do what she says, or she is going to tell everyone what he has been up to.

Holden is with Lily talking and a call comes in.

Holden has to get going but he isn’t leaving until he makes Lily see that she can’t keep this vendetta going. Lily knows what Rose would want her to do and Lily is going to do it. What is it that Rose would want her to do? She goes to her husband and kisses him. She is sorry. She hugs him and tells him that there is nothing that she can do about this right now. Holden is still upset. She has to do this. She promises him that she will be okay. She kisses him again. Holden quietly leaves the house.

Lily is alone and she turns off the light and starts heading to the bedroom but the phone rings.

Dusty is on the phone. He tells her that his idea works. When he shows the cops his idea, it is going to change everything.

Barbara finds all this amazing and ironic that her two children hate her so much. Every time she only loved them and protected them. That is what families do and that is how families survive. They have decided that she is the villain. She congratulates them, as they seem to have been right all along. Paul asks her if she did this. Barbara admits to it. “Yes, I did it. I murdered Rose D’Angelo”.

Paul knows that Lily is afraid that whatever is happened will let a killer go free but Paul will not let that happen.
