As the World Turns Update Monday 12/15/03

By Glynis

Lily cries over the news that she has recently received. She can barely stand up and almost falls to her knees as she stands over the body of her dead twin. Holden tries to comfort her but she won’t let him. There is nothing that anyone can do for her now that Rose is dead. He tells her that it is alright and that he will help her through this. He wants to just take her home. She agrees to that…

…Dusty walks in as Lily and Holden are leaving. Dusty would like to see Rose. Lily will stay with him while he talks to the dead body. Holden leaves them…

…Dusty talks to Rose as her body lies on the bed where it expired. “I failed you, but I won’t fail you again. Whoever did this has got to pay. I promise you.” Lily knows that Rose wouldn’t want to hear this now. It is too late for that and Lily will not allow him to talk this way now. She orders him out.

Hal wants the forensic report on Rose as soon as possible. To see what he can find out about the killer and who did this terrible thing…

Barbara shows up to talk to Hal, as she knows who wanted Rose dead and has the most to gain from it. Hal doesn’t believe in anything that Barbara has to say at this time. Hal figures that she is there to make a confession.

Paul returns to the church and it is taped off. He enters and sees the sign announcing his wedding to Rose. He goes to the aisle and sees a figure at the top of the aisle. He sees the figure in a wedding dress. He figures that he has had a terrible dream and that it was only a dream. Nothing really happened, did it? He would like to have his wedding with her. He assures the figure that the wedding will be perfect. The figure doesn’t move and he gets frustrated. He asks her to forgive him. “Please forgive me…” The figure turns to him and removes the veil to reveal ‘Rose’. The figure asks him why he couldn’t trust her? All he had to do was believe. That was all…

…‘Rose’ only wanted him to talk to her. He knows that he should have talked to her and let her explain. He should have handled things better but he didn’t do the right thing and not it is too late. The figure disappears in front of him. He calls out to Rose to come back…

…A cop comes running in the church telling Todd that he shouldn't be in there as this is a crime scene. Todd tells him to go as he is having a conversation and should have been married there…

…The officer leaves Todd alone and Todd starts crying and begs for Rose to come back to him. He sits and sobs like a little child.

Hal would only like Barbara to tell him the truth. She finds that it is obvious who the killer was. She knows, she says that Dusty is the one that killed Rose. Hal orders her out. She wants to help but he knows that she is there to take the focus off Paul and herself. Hal wants her to take a polygraph. She doesn’t trust him or his tests. Hal doesn’t need a test as he can see that she is already lying to him. He will get at the truth. An officer tells Hal that there is a call for him…

…It is the officer at the church calling in to Hal to let him know that Paul is at the church talking to himself…

…Barbara overhears the call and knows that Paul is screwing up somewhere. She tells Hal that Paul was distraught when this happened. Hal has no time for her and leaves her standing in the station.

Lily remembers her dispute with Rose over Dusty and that angers. Dusty wants her to save her anger for the person that did this. She knows that Paul and Dusty both killed her. There is no hero in this story. Only two selfish men. Lily leaves…

…Dusty returns to Rose’s bedside and sits by her. “You and I know the truth…I love you…and you loved me…” He cries now over her body. He wanted to protect her and now he is so sorry. Dusty will not let Paul get away with this. He kisses Rose’s hand.

Aaron shows up at the diner to meet Alison. He has been through a lot and couldn’t get away. He is there now though as they have responsibilities. Alison feels bad about this. Aaron assures that he is finding out what kind of man he could be and he is glad of that. Alison is glad about that. Everyone has been telling her what to do and she hates it. She thinks that they could move to Chicago and check things out there. Aaron has to stay close to home and can leave now. She will be fine with her family. Alison’s phone rings…

…Susan is on the phone angry that she heard about the marriage from Chris Hughes. Alison is sorry that she didn’t tell her mother the news. Susan is angry and wants Alison to get over to Memorial. Alison doesn’t want to go there but Susan knows that she has to come there anyway as she must take her sonogram. Alison had no idea that her mother knew about the appointment and she is ordered to the hospital now…

…Alison decides that she is going to go to Chicago herself since Aaron isn’t going to budge from town. Aaron is going to make sure that she goes to the hospital and takes her test. Aaron tells Alison that she shouldn’t be afraid of her mother. They will go to the sonogram appointment together and he will make sure that Alison has nothing to be afraid of.

Ben and Jessica are home and they find that someone has been in the house as it is a total mess. They run through everyone that they think could have been in the house. The house is trashed. Jessica is upset and heads to the phone to make a call. Jessica calls Troy and asks him to come over with Sarah.

Aaron and Alison arrive at the hospital to have the appointment…

…Susan arrives on the scene to talk to Alison. Susan wants to talk about the marriage and what the kids have done. Aaron tells her that he and Ally felt that this was best for the child. He can live with Alison and be a father. Susan asks Aaron to get her a cup of coffee and off he goes…

…Susan says that Aaron is a nice man that shouldn’t be saddled with a baby that isn’t his. Alison looks up into her mother’s eyes not knowing what to say to the woman. Chris seems to think that the baby might be his. Alison is angry that Chris is doing this, as he doesn’t care for her. Susan sees that Chris feels obligated to get the truth. Alison is married but Aaron doesn’t love her and she doesn’t love him. Susan only wants to make sure that the baby is Aaron’s…

…Chris shows up saying that he knows that Alison has cancelled the sonogram appointment and it is clear that he is very angry with her over stalling. Chris demands that she have the test and he grabs Alison’s arm to make her listen to him…

…Aaron returns ordering Chris to get his hands off his wife.

Holden will help with the kids…anything until Lily gets over this terrible time. She is sure that no one can help her...

…Lucinda shows up saying that Joe is here now. He is upset, as parents shouldn’t live to see this happen to their children…

…Holden leaves the chapel and Lily quickly tells Lucinda that she would like to be alone, as she knows that Lucinda is going to want to talk. Lucinda has Rose’s shoes and she gives them to Lily. They are ridiculous. Rose always pictured herself to be a princess. Lucinda leaves the woman alone in the chapel…

…Lily talks to her sister. “Yesterday was to be the best day of your life, not your last…”Dusty enters…

…Dusty will not leave Lily alone even though she asks him to. Lily has unloaded on Dusty and now it is time for him to unload on her.

Paul is talking to Rose still in the chapel. “Forgive me. I didn’t mean for this to happen” …

…Hal arrives finding Paul talking to himself, and says that confession is good for the soul. Hal has to wonder if there is something that Paul wants to say. Paul only says that he loved Rose. He publicly humiliated Rose. Hal thinks that Paul may have killed the woman, even though he says that he wouldn’t ever hurt her. Hal reminds Paul that he is in a church begging for forgiveness. That doesn’t sound like an innocent man to Hal.

Aaron gives the order again that Chris leave Alison alone and take his hands off her. Susan tells Alison that she will see her later in radiology. Susan leaves…

…Alison agrees to tell Aaron everything. Chris says that Alison cancelled the sonogram that he ordered. Chris wants to see if the child is his or not. Chris tells Aaron that he and Alison had unprotected sex. Is this true?

Dusty has things that he would like to say and by god, Lily is going to hear them. Dusty is sorry that Rose is sorry. He has no idea what it must be like to lose a sister. He assures her that he didn’t cause Rose’s death but he is guilty of letting her go back to Paul. Is this the way that it is going to be? Dusty knows that Rose’s family thought of her as different. Dusty feels that Rose wanted to be like Lily, because Lily wanted her to be different. Dusty blames Lily for Rose being dead.

Hal asks about the glass at the wedding. Why was Rose’s glass different from the others? Paul wanted her to feel different and confident and when he turned the tables on her, she would feel worse. He made her pay for something that she didn’t do. Paul says that he bought the champagne and put it in glasses where the ladies would find it. All he was thinking about was how he was going to hurt her. He was obsessed, but he didn’t put poison in her glass. Hal isn’t even sure that the poison was administered using the glass. Hal has no idea where the glasses are now but he has an idea who might have taken them…

…Outside the door to the church, Barbara is standing and listening to Hal talk to Paul and she panics when she hears Hal say that he has an idea who took the glasses that the ladies from the bridal party drank from.

Joe is in Rose’s room and he stands over her lifeless body. He has a wedding band and he puts it on her wedding finger. He kisses her face. He is crying and hates looking at his daughter this way…

…He leaves the room and he asks, “How can Rose be dead?” Lucinda tells him that he has to learn something. A doctor tells Joe that Rose was murdered. Joe can’t fathom that. Who could kill Rose? Who would want to hurt her? The whole world loved Joe’s little Rose. No…no…

Hal goes over the story again. Paul says that whoever took the glasses must have been the one that did this. Hal sees that this other person must have been the killer, or be protecting the killer. This didn’t start the day of the wedding. This started back when he was threatening Rose and frightening her.

Dusty remembers he told Lily over and over again that Paul was going to hurt Rose. He tells Lily that she shouldn’t have pushed Rose to marry Paul. Lily can’t hear this anymore.

Sarah and Troy arrive at Ben and Jessica’s, and learn that Jessica feels that Sarah was the one that destroyed her house. Jessica stands with her hands on her hip waiting for an explanation from Sarah. Sarah assures Jessica that she wasn’t the one that trashed the house and she clearly resents the implication.

Alison is doing everything to avoid the sonogram. She turns to Aaron and tells him that this is an example of what she was talking about earlier. People are always making her do things that she doesn’t want to do. Aaron isn’t in the mood anymore to listen to her. He tells her that she is having the sonogram and she is having it now.

Jessica didn’t expect Sarah to admit that she trashed the house. This happened during the honeymoon. Troy tells Jessica that Sarah has been sick with the flu and couldn’t have done this. Jessica is sceptical. As they are talking, Curtis comes into the house talking on the phone to someone, telling them to come over to the house. She stops short when he sees the people in the house.

Alison hates that her personal life is the hot topic …

…Susan returns telling Alison that her sonogram has been rescheduled and that she will have the appointment now. Aaron tells Chris that when he finds out that the baby isn’t his, he is to back off.

Dusty knows that Lily has no reason to trust him. He knows that it isn't’ her fault that she feels this way. Rose was her sister and she is dead now and Lily will never get another chance to tell her sister that she loves her. Dusty knows that Rose will always be with her sister. Rose’s arms will always be with Lily. She is alive. She is living in Lily. Lily turns to Dusty and cries in his arms…

…Holden comes into the chapel and finds his wife in Dusty’s arms.

Barbara comes into the chapel after Hal is gone and she hugs her son. She says that she knows that Hal feels that he is the one that killed Rose, but she assures him that she has taken care of everything.
