As The World Turns Update Thursday 4/19/01
Jake, Molly and the twins are in the apartment. Molly is trying to get the two of them to stand still long enough for Jake to see their dresses. She is trying to pick out the color scheme for their wedding and wants his opinion. Jake is fooling around with her and tells her that he doesn't like the color of the dresses. He tells her that they make the girls pretty and that would attract boys. Molly tells Jake that she is waiting for Carly to come over - she wants her opinion on the dresses. The doorbell rings and it's Adam. He has just been to the tux shop and is a mess. He has the tux on, but it is totally in disarray. He pleads with Jake for help as he doesn't want Abigail to see him like this. She wanted him to stop by to show her his tux once he got it. Jake tells him that all men look like idiots in a tux, with the exception of James Bond. That women want the men to look like penguins. He agrees to help and pulls him into the bedroom just as Abigail is at the door. She comes in with a huge box. Molly asks her if she went shopping. Abigail tells her that she never made it shopping. Her life is over! Molly asks where she was. She tells Molly that she was at the post office. She is upset as Mr. Williams ( the man who raised her) saw a Mel Gibson movie and bought her a prom dress. She tells Molly that she has to wear the dress to prom because he bought it for her. It is really hideous. Molly tells her that it has potential and gets out the scissors and basically turns a piece of coal into a diamond. Adam comes out and they think that they both look great.
Carly and Jack are on the couch cuddling after making love. They find the invitation to Craig and Barbara's wedding in the blanket. Carly tells Jack that Craig invited her. Jack is surprised that she even got an invitation to the wedding. They talk about it and Jack suggests that he take her to the wedding. Carly is surprised and asks Jack if he's sure. Jack says that he is sure about this. It's time that they go public about the two of them. Carly thinks that everyone will just hate her more if they do that. Jack tells them that there isn't anything keeping them apart and he doesn't care what everyone else says. She tells him that they will hate her for him abandoning Julia for her. Jack tells her that he doesn't even care if Julia refuses to give him a divorce. Jack gets a call on his cell phone. He thinks it's Hal, but it is actually Julia. She tells him that she has to see him. She has been trying to reach him at home and wants to know where he is. She tells him that it isn't a game and that it's about the two of them. Jack agrees to see her. Once he's off the phone, Carly ask him what the crisis is this time. He tells her that Julia wants to see him. Carly gets upset as she thinks that this is another one of Julia's tricks. Carly tells him that she doesn't trust Julia. Jack asks her if she'll still be here when he gets back. Carly tells him that she will be here.
Jack goes to see Julia. Jack comments that it's Julia the gracious today. Julia asks him why he's so angry. She can tell that he's seeing Carly again. Jack is upset with her. She tells him that she has a right to know where she stands with him. He tells her that he has a right to his freedom. Julia tells him that she won't contest the divorce, but there is one condition - he has to escort her to Craig and Barbara's wedding. Jack tells her no. She comments that it isn't much to ask. Jack has reservations about this. Julia tells him that this is the only thing she wants. Couldn't they just do this one last thing as a couple? Barbara is her friend and she should be there for her. Jack asks her if this is all she wants, that she'll give him the divorce if he agrees. Julia tells him yes. He tells her that he has to think about it. Julia asks why - it's only one night. He tells her that he might have to work that night. She tells him it's only for a couple of hours. He tells her that he will get back to her and leaves. Julia walks over to the window and has a sinister smile on her face.
Carly goes over to Jake and Molly's and sees Adam and Abigail and the twins. She approves of the prom outfits and also the twins dresses. Carly tells them that with everybody dressed up, all they need is a tux for Jake and a wedding dress for Molly and they could get married right now. Jake tells Molly that they should just do it today. All they need is a justice of the peace. Molly doesn't like the idea and starts cleaning up the mess from Abigail's dress. She asks Abigaill if she has classes. Abigail and Adam realize that they do and go to change. Adam leaves, Molly goes into the bedroom and Abigail asks Jake if she can talk to him for a minute. She tells Jake that Molly doesn't like it when he jokes with her about the wedding. Jake tells her that Molly knows that he's kidding. Abigal tells him that Molly has never had a real wedding and that she just wants to be told that he loves her and that he can't live without her. Jake realizes that he has to square things with Molly and as a way to thank Abigail, he tells her that Adam likes her more than she thinks. Abigail tells him that they are just friends. Jake assures her that there is more there than she thinks.
Craig comes into his suite and sees that there are no messages. He calls down to the front desk and they also tell him there are no messages. He tells them that the only person he wants to see is Barbara Ryan and that if Mrs. Montgomery is looking for him that they should tell her that he is still out of town. Katie comes in and starts asking Craig about the job that he gave Simon. She tells him about last night - that she saw him with Ruby. Craig immiediately asks her where Simon is. Simon comes into the room just as Craig is done asking her. Craig tells Katie that she should go downstairs and get breakfast. Katie tells him that she is interested in what they are talking about. Craig basically pushes her out the door and tells her not to think of eavesdropping. Craig asks Simon about Ruby. Simon tells him that he was right. She is a con-woman and that she was trying to pull a bracelet scam on a bartender at Yo's. He tells him that her father is Gabriel Frank and that they live in a trailer on the outskirts of town. Craig recognizes the name and tells Simon that he thought that Gabriel was dead. Simon tells him that that is part of their scheme. He also tells him that he knows who is trying to scam him - it's his son Bryant. Craig thinks that this is impossible. Simon has proof. He has the answering machine tape with a message from Bryant on it.
Katie is downstairs in the restaurant when she overhears Sierra asking the hotel clerk if Craig has returned yet. He tells her that Craig is still out of town - which is a total lie. Katie overhears and introduces herself to Sierra. Sierra tells her that they should have breakfast since Craig is not back yet. Katie tells her that the clerk may not have known yet, but Craig did just get back and he is upstairs. Sierra goes upstairs to talk to Craig. Just as Craig is about to walk out the door of the suite, he opens it to find Sierra standing there. Craig introduces Sierra and Simon. Simon greets her and then leaves to give them some time alone. They talk about the divorce papers. Sierra tells him that she knows about the trust fund. Craig tells her that everything is legitimate no matter what Lucinda told her. They start talking about his marriage to Barbara. Sierra wants to know why he loves her. He wants to know why she is here. Sierra tells him that she brought the divorce decree. She wanted to bring it to him in person. She asks him if he wants her to sign it. She then tells him that Hal is convinced that Craig will kill Barbara for her money. That he thinks he's a murderer. Craig tells her that he truly loves Barbara. Not her money. Sierra doesn't think that she should sign the papers. They discuss things and Sierra decides to sign the papers to make it official. She signs them and then leaves.
