As The World Turns Update Friday 10/13/00

By Bethany

Julia, despite firing Jack's service revolver six times into David's
body, is stunned when she finds Jack changing the lock on the cabinet
that she got the gun from. She asks doesn't he trust her and he is
forced to admit that he doesn't. Julia is flip and swears that she
has made sure that David is dead and she will be able to move on with
her life now. He wants her to see a professional to help with her
problems if she can't talk to him about them but she reminds him of
all the things that David, AKA Dr. Reid Hamilton did to her and that
she will never be able to go to another psychiatrcist any time soon.
She does her best to assure him that she is fine and when Lisa
arrives she says that she is going to lunch with her normal friend
and have a normal lunch. So Jack leaves. Julia berates herself for
the actions that she took at David's funeral. But she is still
worried about the picture and when Jack could find it. Lisa tells her
that she may have to face the fact that he could find out about it.
Never, Julia declares. They leave for lunch and at some point Lisa
has called Babara and told her about the photo.
Hal is getting Parker ready to go out. He and Barbara try to have a
conversation about the children but Barbara is still adamant having
his and her kids. Hal asks about Jennifer and she does assure him
that despite her threat to see Bryant anyway, she has been so busy
with school that she hasn't seen him. Hal is still blaming Barbara
for drawing the battle lines with Carly over Parker. Barbara thinks
that is Carly were going to go to court for custody that she would
have all ready been in there with guns blazing. Hal isn't so sure and
at that moment, Carly comes to the Munson household to see her son.
She attempts to talk to Barbara but she tells Carly that she and Hal
need to work out the schedule. She notices that Hal is about to leave
with the baby and asks where he was going with him. Hal says that he
was about to take the child to the sitter and Carly asks if she can
have him now and over-night. Hal agrees and Barbara is livid. Hal
says that he wants the two of them to work out the custody
arrangement. Carly makes a ominious statement when she says that
isn't possible at this point. She leaves and a rattled Hal tells
Barbara to stay out of it, he will handle it.
Lily comes to the barn and Holden jumps out of the loft the same way
that he did the first day that they met. Lily is breathless. Holden
explains that he intends to leave her life the same way he came into
it. Without giving her a chance to tell him that she has said good-
bye to Simon, he goes on and on about how it will be when they are
out of each others life. Lilu finally gets to tell a flabbergasted
Holden that she intends to stay and try to work out their problems.
Holden appears to be more than ready to go back to the house and asks
what the plan is. He becomes amorous and Lily pulls away saying that
she is not ready for that yet. What did Simon say to her, he demands?
It doesn't matter. He is not the problem, as Rose is not and not even
Holden himself. The problem is them. She cites how they had pulled
apart even before the love letters that Simon's grandfather had wrote
were even found. She tells him about going to David's funeral and
muses that David would roll over in his grave if he realized how much
he had helped her put things in perspective. She tells him that she
knows he has been visiting Hope and tries to explain how she had to
try to put her out of her mind when they gave her back to Denise.
They realize that they never faced the loss and that Lily buried
herself in the house and Holden, his work at WOAK. She tells him that
he accepted all the changes that she had been through in her life
before and she understands how he could have accepted the changes
that Rose brought into his life. They both decide to try and repair
the damage to their marriage but they want to take it slow so the
children don't become entangled into the process of repairing their
lives.
At the police station, an angry Hal insists that Margo leave the
station to follow-up on another case. Jack comes up on the scene and
talks with Margo briefly before Hal makes another angry request to
leave and check on the case he wants her work on. Jack wonders what
is going on with him. How long does he think that it is going to take
Margo to realize that she is the only one he is taking his anger out
on. Hal tells him about the possible custody case looming between him
and Carly and tells him about the connection to Craig and Carly. He
tells Jack about Carly "shacking up" with Craig. Isaac comes in and
Hal questions him off the record for the street news about a possible
connection between Craig and Winston Lowe. Isaac tells him what he
knows about the micro-chips and attempts to get more information from
a contact he has. When he comes up empty handed, he leaves and Jack
insists on trying to talk to Carly. Hal doesn't want him to jepordize
his marriage but a head-strong Jack leaves to talk with Carly.
While this has been going on, Margo comes back and hears enough of
the conversation to realize that Hal is after her brother. She is
livid and accuses him of trying to get even with him because Craig
pulled the legal strings to get Bryant out of the mess he was in from
the accident with Jennifer and Parker. Hal goes off to another corner
of the police station and Margo calls Craig and gets Katie. She needs
to talk to him NOW she tells her sister.
Lisa has enlisted Barbara's help in trying to figure out what they
can do to help Julia. Julia tells Barbara about the picture and they
decided that David's attorney is the key to recovery. They phone him
and he joins them for lunch. Despite a generous payoff for the
picture, he remains loyal to his deceased client and reminds an
unhappy Julia that David was not the type to leave any loose ends.
While she frets that Jack will go running back to Carly the second he
sees the photo, Barbara tells her that she doesn't have anything to
worry about. Carly is with Craig. Thinking that the Carly situation
may be actually under control, Julia decides that she should tell
Jack the truth.
Jack visits Carly at the Lakeview and tries to gather information on
Craig. But what little Carly may know, she isn't telling and tells
Jack that she likes Craig. He has helped her when no one else in town
would. Jack tries to warn her that Craig may be a criminal and that
they are investigating him. If he goes down and she is anywhere near
him, she will go down with him Jack implies. But Carly mistakes his
warnings for something else...he can't give up the feelings he has
for her.
