Natalia says that there is no Jane Doe admitted to a hospital from a car accident within 50 miles and Brot tells her to expand the search.  Erica walks in and Fred claims that Erica ran down Madison the night before and drove off.  Erica says that she has to speak to Jesse because she needs his help.

Frankie attends to Madison and asks her what happened.  Madison claims that it was nothing and that she doesn’t need a doctor.  Frankie asks if her father knows she is there and Madison says no and asks Frankie to go away.  Frankie asks if Madison’s father did this to her.

James tells someone that he wants results, not excuses.  Randi asks James what he is doing there.  James says that he is looking for his daughter and asks if Randi can help.

Liza tells Annie that Adam’s testimony is their most powerful shot at winning the case.  Annie fires Liza and says that she is going to represent herself.  Liza asks if Annie is willing to take this gamble because she doesn’t trust Liza.  Annie says that she wouldn’t trust Liza if this was just a parking ticket.  Liza asks who Annie does trust.

JR tells Little Adam that he did a good job.  Little Adam runs over to Adam.  JR says that they decided to drop by and that they thought they would get into the spirit of the season.  JR says that he wants to focus on the positive and them coming back together.  Adam says that JR is forgetting that they had a lot of serious issues before Annie appeared in his life.  JR says that they both need a second chance.  Adam says that he is supposed to be at the hospital to get Annie.  JR asks if Adam would like to say goodbye to his grandson first and Adam says that he does.

James says that Randi and her family are his only lead to Madison’s whereabouts.  Randi asks James to tell her that Madison isn’t after her again.  James says that he hopes she isn’t because she was getting the help she needed in a private facility.  Randi reminds James that he let everyone believe that Madison was dead and James says that he felt it was the only option to protect his family and Randi’s.  James says that he doesn’t want to give Randi’s family any trouble and doesn’t want this to get out.  Randi asks what James wants and James says that he wants his daughter back.  Randi says that she will find Madison and this time she will stay at the hospital.

Frankie says that the bruises are different ages and asks how long Madison’s father has been hitting her.  Madison asks Frankie not to make her talk about him.  Frankie says that if Madison doesn’t fill him in, he may need to contact her father to find out what the story is.  Madison says that she never meant to be found and is just passing through on her way to a new life where her father can’t lock her up or drug her.  Madison says that he has become a social liability to her father and that he hates her for it.  Madison says that she made a big mistake letting the woman bring her there and Frankie asks what woman it was. 

Jesse asks Erica if she is sure that she saw Madison and Erica says that there is no doubt that it was her.  Jesse tells Natalia to take Fred to the hospital and get him checked out.  Natalia tells Brot to help Fred and they leave.  Jesse tells Erica that Madison’s father claimed that she was dead.  Erica says that she is sure it was Madison and that her father was trying to cover up what he has been doing to her.  Jesse asks what Madison’s father has been doing and Erica says that Madison has bruises to prove that she is being abused.  Jesse says that he will handle the situation from here and that he will question Madison. 

Annie says that she will put everyone who went after her for Stuart’s murder on the stand.  Liza asks what the purpose of that is and Annie says that it will expose them as being hypocrites and then they will see who the jury believes.  Liza suggests that Annie is afraid that Adam will turn on her, but Annie says that it is ridiculous.  Liza suggests that Annie fired her because she is afraid that Liza will help Adam sink her, but Annie says that Adam loves her and would never do that.  Liza asks why Annie fired her and says that Adam is her most powerful witness.  Adam walks in and says that Liza’s job is to represent Annie, not upset her.  Liza says that Annie has decided to dig her own grave and has fired her.  Liza asks Adam if he brought a shovel.

Madison says that Erica promised that she wouldn’t tell anyone about this and that Madison needs Frankie to make the same promise.  Frankie says that there are people who can help her, but Madison says that she can handle things on her own.  Madison says that it was a mistake for her to pass Jesse that note because she has put them through too much grief already.  Frankie asks about the note and Madison says that she asked Jesse for help when they crossed paths at ConFusion a few weeks before.  Madison asks Frankie to promise that he won’t tell anyone about this, especially Jesse and Frankie does.

Fred asks if they have pudding and says that it cures his teeth itching.  Natalia says that they do and Fred says that banana works best.  Brot tells Fred to sit down and read something.  Brot says that thanks to his investigative skills, they know that Madison North is back in town.  Angie walks up and asks what they mean by that.  Natalia tells Brot that it is time for him to take his witness to the ER for some debriefing and detoxing.  Brot leaves with Fred.  Natalia tells Angie that Madison is back and that Jesse is questioning Erica about it right now.  Angie says that she is going down to the station to see what she can find out.  Natalia says that Jesse wants to handle it all by himself, but Angie says that he won’t be kicking her out.

JR tells Little Adam that he did a great job on the ornaments.  Little Adam says that he likes doing things with JR.  JR asks Little Adam how he would feel about spending more time at the mansion and Little Adam asks if they are talking about moving back in.  JR says that some things would have to happen first, but yes that is what they are talking about.  Colby comes in and confronts JR about moving back home after telling her that he wouldn’t as long as Annie was there.  JR confirms that is what he said.

Erica says that Jesse isn’t taking this seriously enough.  Jesse says that if things are as bad as she claims with Madison, then the police should take over.  Erica says that she expects a full report by the end of the day.  Frankie walks in and Jesse asks if he found out that Madison is back in town.  Frankie says that he just came from treating her and confronts Jesse about the note from Madison.  Jesse says that he kept it quiet for Frankie and Randi’s sake, but his people checked it out and came back with nothing.  Frankie asks if Jesse knew that Madison’s father was keeping her prisoner and beating her up.  Jesse says that he didn’t know until Erica just told him and suggests that it could all be staged.  Randi comes up and tells Frankie to listen to Jesse.

Adam asks why Annie fired Liza.  Annie says that Liza is close with all her enemies and was going to sandbag her.  Adam asks Liza if it is true and Liza says that she is out of there and that she will be sending her bill.  Adam asks what Annie was thinking about going into the trial with no attorney.  Annie says that Adam doesn’t know what it is like to be hated so universally, but Adam says that he does.  Annie says that sometimes she feels like nobody will be on her side in there and Adam says that it must feel very lonely.

Randi confronts Frankie about treating Madison after everything that she has done to them.  Frankie says that Madison’s father beat her up, but Randi says that she just saw James and he says that Madison is delusional.  Randi says that she saw a concerned man who desperately wants to help his daughter and Frankie says that he saw bruises that weren’t self-inflicted.  Randi suggests that Madison might have paid someone to knock her around.  Randi asks if she is the only sane person in the family.

Erica bumps into James.  James says that he read about Kendall’s false arrest and it is a relief to know that she can come home now since she has been cleared, but Erica says that it is a little more complicated than that.  Erica says that she heard about the tragedy with Madison.  James says that something inside of him died when he lost Madison and that he misses her terribly.

Annie says that she doesn’t need Liza as long as she has Adam.  Adam promises Annie that he will be in the courtroom with her and that she won’t be alone.  Annie says that she will spend the rest of her life making sure that Adam doesn’t regret choosing her and that she knows it has cost him a lot with his family.  Adam says that it is getting late and that he has to go.  Annie asks him to stay a little longer, but he says that she needs her rest for the trial.

JR says that Little Adam misses his grandpa and that he missed the mansion too.  Colby says that JR could have come back at any time, even with all the problems.  JR says that he wanted to rebuild the family, but Adam kept putting Annie in the way.  Colby asks JR what makes him think that Adam will choose him and Little Adam over Annie this time.  JR says that the trial will make everything real clear and final and that it could be their last chance.  Colby asks JR to promise that he isn’t going anywhere.  JR promises that he is staying with the family that he loves, but won’t let go of his life.

Erica asks James what brings him to town and he says that he is trying to track down an elusive investment.  Erica says that sometimes they have a way of getting away from you because it isn’t meant to be yours.  James says that he hopes to wrap this up and be gone by tomorrow, but Erica says that she has the feeling that he might be tied up in Pine Valley for quite some time.

Jesse says that he is on Randi’s side, but Frankie just saw her and thinks that they might be missing something.  Randi suggests that they put Madison and James together and be done with it, but Frankie says that it isn’t that simple.  Randi says that she is going home to lock the door, bolt the windows and hide in the closet and leaves.  Angie comes up and asks if Randi found out that Madison is back.  Jesse says that they have to figure out something and Frankie says that they have to keep her father away from her.

Liza tells Marissa that they are off the case because Annie has decided to represent herself.  Liza says that she is going to get started on the paperwork to remove herself as Annie’s attorney and tells Marissa to go home to her husband.  Adam comes up and tells Marissa that JR is pleased with the change in the case.  Marissa says that JR is seeing things differently now and is looking at life a whole new way.  Adam says that he has to make a choice between family and love, but Marissa says that JR is hoping that Adam will choose both, since it is Adam’s family that he loves.

Annie watches a reporter on TV talking about the trial and throws the remote against the wall.

Brot tells Natalia that Fred is taken care of.  Natalia says that she is doing the report on Fred and trying to keep Madison’s name out of it until Jesse tells them what to do.  Brot asks if she is writing about him ignoring her.  Natalia says that the point is that procedure is it when you are a cop.  Natalia tells Brot to go get them a snack and he leaves.  Natalia writes down that she highly recommends Brot and credits his instincts.

Adam asks if JR is still there and Colby says that he had to take Little Adam home for bed.  Colby asks Adam if he wants to help her hang the ornaments that she found.  Adam says that he needs to be alone with his thoughts for a while and Colby says that she is going to bed.  Adam asks Colby to turn out some of the lights on her way, so that his thoughts can have some alone time with the tree.

Jesse tells Frankie to take care of Randi and that he will take care of things there, but Frankie says that he can’t walk away.  Angie reminds Jesse that she told him to drop it when he showed her the “help” note from Madison and Jesse says that it is too late now.

Randi shows up to see Madison and says that she came to help.  Madison says that Randi has to leave because she didn’t want to involve Randi or her family.  Randi says that Madison’s father is looking for her and Madison says that Randi can’t let James know that she is there.  Randi says that Madison needs to get out of there and Madison asks how she can do that.  Randi says that she can help, but they have to move fast and asks Madison to let her help.

James shows up at the police station and tells Jesse that Madison has escaped from the facility where she was being treated.  James says that his daughter is in grave danger to herself and is quite delusional.  Frankie asks if James wants to find Madison, so he can slap her around again.  Frankie punches James in the face and James has him arrested.

Erica tells a woman at the Miranda Center that she needs to speak to the Jane Doe that she brought in.  The woman says that Jane Doe is still in room 12 and Erica thanks her.  Erica knocks on the door and walks in, but the room is empty.

JR tells Marissa that he dropped Little Adam off with Winifred and thought he would come give her some moral support.  Marissa says that she came to see how Liza was doing.  Liza says that she told Marissa to go home.  JR says that he thought they would be prepping for the big case and Liza says that Annie fired them.  JR says that Annie knows her back is against the wall and that could be scary because that is when Annie is most dangerous.

Annie dreams about being the prosecutor and the defendant at her trial.  Defendant Annie claims that she deserves a second chance, but prosecutor Annie says that she has squandered all her chances.  Defendant Annie says that she sees a way to prove that Adam can love and trust her.

Stuart appears to Adam.  Adam says that the trial starts tomorrow and he doesn’t know what to do.  Stuart hands Adam an ornament and says that Adam knows what to do.  Adam hangs the ornament on the tree.
