Erica says that she hopes she isn’t late. Ryan says that she is right on time and that he appreciates her help with this. Erica says that she made a promise to Ryan that they would make sure that Annie is never a threat to Emma again. Ryan says that Annie is going to ride Adam’s power all the way to an acquittal. Erica says that they have to expose Annie for the conniving manipulator that she is. Ryan says that between Adam and his security, he can’t get anywhere near Annie, so they have to divide and conquer.

Adam asks Liza how long the psychiatric evaluation is going to take. Liza says that it is the first session, so it is a little more complicated than ink blot flashcards. Adam says that he doesn’t care if it is a primal-scream therapy, because it is critical to prove that Annie’s mind is sound and that she isn’t a danger to anyone, including her child. Liza asks if Adam doubts Annie’s sanity. Adam says that he is quite confident. Liza says that she is thinking about Colby and how she is torn between them. Adam says that he doesn’t think that Colby is so much torn between them as equally angry at both of them. Liza says that it needs to stop and Colby needs to know that she can have them both.

Opal asks Kathy if she is ready for more tea. Kathy asks for more tea and cookies. Tad asks Amanda if she wants to join the party, but Amanda says no. Opal asks how Amanda’s nap was and Amanda says that she is good. Jake comes out. Jake tells Kathy to get some more sugar. Jake asks Amanda if she had a tough day. Amanda says that she can’t do it anymore.

Jack asks Henry if he likes playing the odds. Henry says that his wife does and introduces Jack to Madison. Henry says that he prefers a sure bet like convicting Jack’s client of first-degree murder. Jack says that Kendall is innocent. Henry says that a smart attorney might advise his client to take a plea, but Jack turns it down. Henry asks if Jack is going to go to trial and gamble Kendall’s life, even though they both know that she will lose.

Kendall and Zach play with the kids. Kendall tells Spike that she thinks a boat can sail to the moon. Zach asks why she lies to her kids, but Kendall says that she really thinks it can.

Tad tells the kids to head to the kitchen. Once they are alone, Amanda tells Jake that she knows she made the right decision because it is the only way to keep the baby safe, but when she dreams about him she wants to hold him and he isn’t there. Jake apologizes. Amanda says that Kathy and Jenny’s giggles, tea parties, baths and bedtime stories make it worse. Jake says that he will talk to them. Amanda says that she wants to feel good again because a part of her was taken away with the baby and she doesn’t know how to get it back. Jake suggests that they take a long walk on the pier. Amanda agrees, but says that she doesn’t think she will be very good company. Jake says that she is the only person on the planet that he wants to be with. Amanda says that she will be right back. Tad suggests that Jake should tell Amanda that the baby is going to Liza, and that she will at least be able to see him again.

Jack says that the physical evidence is weak. DA North says that he has means, motive and opportunity and can place Kendall at the scene with a gun in her hand. Jack says that the same can be said about the other six suspects and asks why Henry doesn’t go after the justice. Henry tells Jack to prepare Kendall for the trial and for life in prison with no parole.

Kendall says that for a minute she forgot about all the bad stuff. Zach says that Kendall is going to be right there with the kids whenever she wants because she isn’t going to prison. Kendall says that she wants to believe it and Zach says that she can because it is a promise from him to her. Zach gets a phone call and tells Kendall that he will see her at home.

Erica tells Ryan that Annie’s first appointment with the court-appointed therapist is today and that she will probably try to fool him just like she has fooled everyone else. Ryan says that they don’t have long to prove that it is all an act and tells Erica that Annie is a very good actress when she wants something. Erica says that the most important thing is that when they are done, Emma will grow up safe and sound. Ryan says that he was convinced for so long that he didn’t want to have kids because he would be a horrible father, but now his kids are his life and that he would protect them with his life. Erica says that Spike and Emma are lucky to have Ryan as their father. Ryan says that he is very lucky to have Erica, but that it is going to get very messy, so if she wants to back out he would understand. Erica says that the scar Annie gave her has yet to heal and is already interfering with her swimsuit shopping. Ryan says that Annie is in trouble because she has ticked off Erica. Erica gets a call saying that Annie’s appointment will end soon, so Ryan needs to get to Adams to talk to Annie. Ryan says that Adam won’t let him anywhere near Annie. Erica says that Adam has some plans of his own and is going to get some help from Erica.

Annie says that she was afraid that if she lost Ryan, she would lose Emma too. The psychiatrist asks if Annie is still afraid of losing her daughter and Annie says that she is and that everything she did was because she was desperate to hold on to her little girl.

Adam asks if Liza is suggesting that they get back together and she says no. Liza says that Colby needs to know that they aren’t putting her in the middle of their problems. Adam asks how they are going to arrive at this parental nirvana. Liza says that they need to put their daughter first. Liza says that they need to stop attacking each other, blaming each other and working the angles. Adam asks if their deal is off. Liza says that it isn’t because Annie deserves a good lawyer and he is paying her a fortune to make sure that Annie gets the very best. Liza asks if they can be parents who are working together. Adam says that he is willing to try if Liza is. Liza says that she won’t turn on Adam unless he turns on her first. Adam asks when the baby is due and Liza says that he will come when he is ready.

Jake says that he isn’t going to tell Amanda anything, but that he will get her through this. Jake says that it is better this way because Amanda wouldn’t be able to acknowledge that it is her son, while she is watching him run after Liza calling her mommy. Tad says that there has to be a way that Liza and Amanda could work out an arrangement for child visitation. Jake says that David would be all over it and the whole point was to keep the child safe in the first place. Jake says that Amanda knew what was at stake and knows that she is doing the right thing. Jake says that he is sorry that Liza told Tad about it and Tad says that he is too. Jake tells Tad to stick to tea parties and he will handle this. Amanda asks if everything is okay. Tad says that Jake was giving him fashion pointers. Tad tells Jake to take care of Amanda. Jake and Amanda leave.

Annie asks Liza if Dr. Nolan thinks she is doing better. Liza says that it will all be in the report and that the doctor couldn’t tell her anything else. Annie says that she has a few more sessions to impress him and that she will try her best. Liza tells Annie to be herself, but Annie says that she doesn’t know if that is a good idea. Adam says that it is obvious to everyone that Annie is hardly a danger to society and that she will pass with flying colors. Annie says that if she is declared competent, then she will go to trial. Adam says that Liza will get Annie off. Annie asks if that is possible. Liza says that she will do her best and that she will call Annie tomorrow. Liza leaves. Annie says that she doesn’t know how she can thank Adam. Adam tells Annie to be herself and enjoy it. Annie says that Adam is the most generous man she has ever met. Adam says that Annie will have to do without him for a little while this afternoon because he has an errand to run. Annie says that it isn’t like she could go with him anyways. Adam says that he is going to have Lucretia make a really special dinner tonight and that he will be home soon. Adam leaves. The door closes and Annie starts dancing around the living room. Ryan walks in.

Henry says that Madison is done, but she says that they just got there. Madison says that it is the first night they have been out without the press crews in forever. Zach says that champagne is in order on the house. Henry says that it isn’t necessary, but Madison thanks Zach. Henry asks if Zach thinks that a cheap bottle of champagne will make him forget about the charges against Kendall. Zach says that it isn’t cheap. Henry says that it won’t work. Zach says that he is just doing his job. Henry says that he thought Zach would be wanting to spend as much time with his family as possible before his wife goes to prison, but Zach says that Kendall isn’t going anywhere. Kendall calls Henry. Kendall says that she wants to talk, just the two of them. Henry says that he has to go because it is important and tells Madison to stay and have fun. Zach suggests that he and Madison play a game, just the two of them. Zach says that once Henry left, Madison’s luck changed.

Liza shows up at Tad’s looking for Jake. Tad says that Jake is out. Liza says that Jake keeps putting her off and won’t even tell her when her baby will be there. Tad reminds Liza that it is Amanda’s baby. Liza says that she has a birth to plan and a baby to prepare for. Tad tells Liza that Amanda is miserable. Liza says that she feels sorry for Amanda, but this was her idea. Tad says that Amanda’s idea was to have her baby adopted by strangers, as far away from David as possible. Tad says that Amanda cries herself to sleep every night because of losing the baby. Liza says that she doesn’t want to know that, but Tad says that she doesn’t have a choice. Tad says that Liza is the only one who could change it.

Adam buys something at the store. Erica asks Adam if he is all right and says that he looks flushed.

Annie asks what Ryan is doing there and if Emma is okay. Ryan says that Emma is fine and knows that Annie is staying with Adam, but that doesn’t mean that she can manipulate her way into a visit. Annie says that it is the last thing she wants and that Ryan has to keep Emma away from her.

Kendall tells Henry to come in. Henry says that it was supposed to be a private meeting and Kendall says that she wasn’t expecting Jack. Henry tells Jack that Kendall called the meeting. Kendall says that she can handle it and tells Jack that he can see himself out. Henry asks what Kendall wanted to discuss. Kendall says that she doesn’t want to go to prison for life. Henry tells Kendall to plead guilty and she will be out before her boys graduate from high school, but Kendall says that they can do much better than that.

Amanda says that she knew it would be tough, but didn’t think it was going to be this bad. Amanda says that she feels like a black cloud in the house. Jake tells Amanda that Greenlee’s old penthouse is now their new home and that he signed the lease today. Amanda asks Jake to stop lying to her.

Adam says that he is just picking up a few things and tells the clerk that he wants the dress. Erica says that they won’t have the dress in Adam’s size. Adam asks if Erica is enjoying herself. Erica says that she isn’t as much as Adam is planning to because she is sure the dress isn’t for Colby. Erica says that the dress would look lovely on Annie. Adam asks why Erica is helping him when she hates Annie. Erica says that she can’t resist a makeover and Annie can use all the help she can get. Adam says that Annie is beautiful. Erica says that she will give Annie a chance to express her true self and that she believes that Annie will surprise them all.

Annie tells Ryan that she was wrong and selfish. Annie says that she was so desperate to spend time with Emma that she didn’t think about what it would do to her. Ryan asks Annie if she is rehearsing for the evaluation. Annie says that she is trying to do what is best for Emma and that she doesn’t want to expose Emma to a trial or Oak Haven. Annie says that until this is all over, she has to accept that she can’t see Emma. Ryan asks about when it is all over. Annie says that she knows that she can’t get full custody, but she is hoping that Ryan will allow her to see Emma every once in a while. Ryan says that Annie really has changed and that everything she said makes perfect sense and is in control and more dangerous than ever.

Madison and Zach talk about her playing cards. Madison says that she grew up with cards. Zach tells Madison that she can come back anytime she wants. Madison loses and says that Henry will kill her and that maybe she can win it all back. Zach says that it never happened, so there is nothing to tell her husband.

Kendall says that she is in a position to help Henry get what he wants from the trial. Henry says that Kendall pleading guilty would help him. Kendall says that the trial is a gamble because he doesn’t have an airtight case against her and if he loses, it is back to the linoleum trenches. Henry says that he will take his chances. Kendall says that if Henry drops the charges against her, she will guarantee the full support of her husband and her mother when he runs for office. Henry says that he was expecting a bribe offer earlier in the game. Kendall says that it isn’t a bribe and that she is offering friendship with benefits guaranteed.

Tad tells Liza that all she has to do is tell Jake that she changed her mind and that she can always adopt another baby. Liza says that she never should have told Tad the truth because she knew he was going to be a problem. Tad says that taking Amanda’s baby was the problem. Tad says that if Liza is so determined to do this, she should do it as far away as possible. Liza says that she isn’t leaving Colby and that she will make it work. Tad says that Liza can’t handle this, and neither can Jake. Liza says that she can unless Tad opens his mouth and blows the whole plan to hell. Tad says that Liza has to worry about Jake too because he wants Amanda to be happy. Tad says that Jake will eventually end up taking the baby back and putting him back in Amanda’s arms. Liza asks what Tad means by “back in her arms” and asks if Amanda held the baby.

Adam says that Erica is just jealous that he has Annie in his life. Erica says that she is relieved because Adam was too needy. Adam says that Erica is only helping him now so that she can sabotage his relationship with Annie. Erica says that Annie’s charms seem to involve her dexterity with knives and tire irons. The store clerk gives Adam the dress. Adam says that he is having a celebratory dinner for Annie and invites Erica to attend.

Annie asks how she can be more dangerous. Annie says that she is willing to accept her punishment for everything she has done. Ryan says that it is easy for her to say now that she has conned Adam into buying her freedom. Annie says that Adam is her friend and isn’t buying her anything. Ryan says that Annie is going to work Adam until she gets what she wants, which is Emma. Annie says that she isn’t ready to see Emma and when she is, it will be at Ryan’s discretion. Annie suggests that Ryan is being paranoid and warns him to be careful because if the paranoia takes over, it will ruin his life.

Zach congratulates Madison and tells her that if she wants to gamble again, she should give him a call. Madison says that Zach thinks that if he makes her happy, she will convince Henry to drop the charges. Zach says that his wife is innocent. Madison says that Henry wouldn’t go after an innocent woman because he believes in justice, but Zach says that Henry believes in his career and in conviction. Madison says that Kendall was the last person to call Henry and asks why Zach’s wife would be setting up a private rendezvous with her husband.

Henry says that the voters don’t tolerate that kind of relationship anymore and says that he will have to turn her down on her offer. Kendall says that there must be something that they can work out. Henry says that she can either take the plea or go to trial. Kendall says that she didn’t kill Stuart and asks why Henry is so dead set on putting her away for life when he should be focused on the real killer. Henry says that he is looking at the real killer. Kendall says that Henry will regret this because he doesn’t know who he is dealing with. Henry says that he married someone exactly like Kendall.

Erica says that she would love to have dinner with Adam and Annie and asks if she can bring a date. Erica says that she would have to check with her friend, but is sure that he wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Annie says that her paranoia started with Greenlee, thinking that she was out to steal Ryan and it ate at her. Annie says that it eventually threw her over the edge and asks Ryan not to let it happen to him too. Ryan asks if this is a strategy that she worked out with Adam because it won’t work. Ryan says that Annie won’t take Emma away from him and leaves. Annie stares at the fireplace angrily.

Liza says that she can’t believe that Jake let Amanda hold the baby because it wasn’t part of the deal. Tad says that Amanda fell in love with the baby as she carried him to term. Liza says that Amanda is going to recognize her baby and want him back.

Amanda says that she is so sick of the lies. Amanda says that it won’t be fine because she held her baby. Jake kisses Amanda and holds her while she cries.

Zach says that his wife keeps a very busy schedule. Madison says that if Kendall is smart, she will take whatever deal Henry offered her. Zach asks Madison what deal Henry cut with her to get her to marry him.

Kendall says that she understands the added bonus now because if he puts her away, it will be like putting his wife away. Henry says that either way Kendall is going to prison and he looks forward to that day.
