Episode #12115 ~ Victor strategizes with Adam. Sharon credits Mariah for learning an important lesson. Chelsea keeps up appearances.

Adam: Alright, well, let me know what you find out. Yep. Thanks for the help.

Victor: Oh, boy. Bad news or what?

Adam: Yes, but it's nothing i can't handle. That was the lawyer that was helping rescind the restraining order keeping me from seeing connor. You know, should be a simple proposition.

Victor: Yeah. It was predicated on you being a fugitive. That's no longer the case, so this should be a done deal.

Adam: Well, it's turned into a bureaucratic nightmare, especially now that chelsea has been committed.

Victor: Want me to make a call?

Adam: No. Um, we're here to talk about newman media's launch, so we should dig and focus on that.

Victor: But obviously this bothers you, so you're sure i can't help by calling someone?

Adam: Our work is not gonna get in the way of me getting my son. That'll happen.

Victor: Alright.

Adam: Sooner, not later.

Rey: Chelsea. Chelsea.

Chelsea: Where am I?

Rey: It's okay. It's okay, you're in the hospital. Right? I was here yesterday, talking to you. Do you remember?

Chelsea: Yeah, sorry. I, um... I was having a dream. It, uh, it felt so real. I was in the park with connor, and he was so little. He was like 3 years old, and we were sitting on a blanket in the park and it was so sunny. It felt so real.

Rey: I'm sorry I woke you. That sounded like a nice dream.

Chelsea: Um...why are you back here?

Michael: Hey, detective. Chelsea, hello. I saw your lawyer in the parking lot. He should be here any minute. We can get started soon, yeah?

Rey: Mm-hmm.

Chelsea: Started on what? Oh, my statement. For the judge. I have to explain why I tried to hurt you.

Sharon: Does the place seem different?

Faith: It's the same, but I'm different. So much has happened since the last time I was here.

Sharon: Well, I think it's good for you to get out of the house. Now that you're finally feeling better, I didn't want to waste the opportunity.

Faith: It feels great.

Sharon: I knew you missed the place. It's spring! Birds are singing, flowers are blooming. There's brownies to be eaten.

Faith: [ Chuckles ]

Moses: Hey. You're out in the world. Must be feeling pretty good.

Faith: I am. Oh, thanks for getting me those notes for biology.

Moses: Yeah.

Faith: But I'm still not getting cell division and mitosis.

Moses: Oh, okay, I can help you with that sometime.

Faith: How about now?

Moses: Sure.

Sharon: Why don't you two work together out on the patio? I'll bring some treats out.

Faith: Brownies?

Sharon: Possibly.

Mariah: Look at faith -- she's up, she's walking around. She's beaming.

Sharon: You should've seen her smiling on the way over here, and now she's got a friend to hang out with. It's an actual good day in more ways than one.

Mariah: What do you mean? Do tell.

Sharon: Well, my husband is back under our roof where he belongs, and we are going to make it work. This whole mess is finally behind us.

Naya: There she is, working hard as usual.

Imani: I wonder where she gets that from, mom.

Naya: I work hard, but not like her. She's a superhuman, this girl.

Amanda: Well, I think we can discuss who inherited what from whom a little later. We have a problem.

Naya: Is that why you wanted to meet?

Amanda: Yes. Sutton's case has gotten complicated. I conducted an interview yesterday, and I learned some new information that's raised a lot of questions. And I need answers. From you. Jaycee tried gain flings for the first time the other day.

Amanda: The theory that I was going to present in court was that someone at newman enterprises was behind richard's murder. Thus raising reasonable doubt about the charges brought against sutton.

Naya: Yes, yes, that's a smart strategy.

Amanda: But our theory was based on richard having blackmailed someone at newman and being silenced for that.

Naya: Right.

Amanda: That wasn't what he was doing the last two weeks of his life after leaving the company.

Imani: Well, what was he doing?

Amanda: He was looking for me.

Imani: That makes no sense.

Naya: How is that possible? Richard died without knowing you or hilary. I broke things off with him and never said another word. I left school, I had the babies, gave them away without him ever knowing a thing.

Amanda: Well, that's what you've said since I met you. But I interviewed someone yesterday who told a very different story. Apparently, before the crash, richard was working with an investigator to find his child. The child he wasn't supposed to know existed.

Imani: Who is this mystery source?

Naya: Yes, who told you this?

Amanda: Someone who was present at newman at the time, and that's all that I want to say at the moment.

Naya: [ Sighs ]

Imani: I'm working with you on the case now. Don't I have a right to know?

Amanda: Look, I'm sorry, but that's just the way it has to be. Now, this person has direct knowledge about what was on richard's mind those final two weeks of his life. We assumed that he was fired from newman for making waves. In truth, he took a leave of absence to conduct the search.

Naya: No. No, it -- it's not possible that he knew. If he did, wouldn't he have come to me? And why did your source say that he was looking for only one child. I had twins.

Amanda: I don't know...yet.

Imani: And what does that mean?

Amanda: It means that I need answers. And if I don't get them now from you, I will get them somewhere else.

Naya: Forgive me, but that sounded like a threat.

Mariah: So what happened with rey?

Sharon: Well, we talked it all out right here. It was intense and emotional, but we both realized that our marriage is worth fighting for and we love each other, so we had a really good talk, and then we went home together. And when he walked in the house and I shut the door, I realized that he wasn't going to be leaving in a few minutes. He wasn't stopping by to pick up a few items of clothing or extra pad of paper, he was -- he was there to stay.

Mariah: I'm so relieved. Oh, all the tension in my body left, just knowing that the two of you are back together.

Sharon: Well, we had one final sticking point -- the alleged affair between adam and me. At first, rey just couldn't let go of chelsea's allegations, and that was the bottom line for us. I mean, if he couldn't believe me when I tell him that never happened, what does that say about our relationship?

Mariah: Wow.

Sharon: It just goes to show, we were in a very difficult spot.

Mariah: It'S...

Sharon: Hey, what's wrong? Is it the baby?

Mariah: Yeah, I'm gonna choose to believe that that was just the baby's way of showing approval [Chuckles] For you and rey getting back together. He or she seems thrilled, and so am I.

Sharon: You never gave up on rey and me. You were strong and supportive.

Mariah: A little too strong sometimes, I think.

Sharon: But you never gave up hope, and you didn't want me to lose hope, so...that's what means everything to me.

Rey: Are you ready?

Chelsea: Yes.

Rey: This is detective rey rosales here to get the statement of chelsea lawson. Also present is district attorney michael baldwin and the suspect's counsel, mr. Montgomery.

Michael: Okay. Now, chelsea, you seem in much better spirits than when I saw you a few days ago.

Chelsea: I am. They're taking good care of me in here.

Michael: Good. All we want you to do is to explain the events that led up to the poisoning of detective rosales.

Chelsea: I understand what i have to do. I'll try my best.

Rey: That's all we ask. There's no pressure, no getting this right. We just want to hear in your own words everything that happened.

Chelsea: I had a stroke on new year's eve. I was paralyzed, unable to speak, unable to move. My rehab was not going well. I felt trapped. It was miserable. But then my fiancé decided to bring somebody in to help me with the mental side of my recovering, and he decided to bring in the love of his life -- sharon newman. I mean, I started making progress, but I made sure to watch them. I was watching them because i knew what was going on.

Michael: Could you tell us?

Chelsea: Adam would go on and on. He kept saying how he just wanted to help me, how he just wanted me to get better, but really it was just an excuse to have sharon in our home every single day. It was a really convenient way for the two of them to be able to spend time together. But what they didn't realize is that was my motivation, because I wasn't just gonna sit there. I wasn't gonna sit in that chair helpless and watch them just have an affair right in front of my eyes. No thank you.

[ Sighs ]

Michael: So what did you do?

Chelsea: I worked on my recovery and I got better. You know, at first, I was able to -- to just move a finger. And then I could move my hand and then I could move my whole arm. And eventually, I could walk. I-I was able to access my phone. I was...I was even able to leave the penthouse.

Michael: But you kept all that hidden.

Chelsea: That's right. Then one night, I was able to make my way to sharon'S. I mean, they weren't allowed to treat me like that. Did they think I wasn't gonna do anything about it? I mean, somebody had to pay for what I had gone through. Somebody had to pay what I was continuing to have to go through.

Michael: You did this all on your own. No one else helped.

Chelsea: That's right. I mean, I couldn't risk it. I couldn't risk confiding in anybody. I did it all myself.

Michael: Well, what exactly did you do all by yourself?

Chelsea: I went after detective rosales.

[ Sighs ] I got my hands on some poison, and, um... I-I did my research, though.

[ Sniffles ] I research it all. I only gave him enough to make him sick. I am not a killer. And then...I went to sharon's and I-I put the poison in his things.

Michael: And why did you do that?

Chelsea: Because if sharon was gonna take everything away from me, I wanted her to know what that felt like. And, we're back!

Chelsea: And that's everything. I think I was justified. I was betrayed, rey -- so were you.

Montgomery: Alright, I think you got everything. No more questions. If you'll excuse us.

Michael: Oh, sure. Chelsea.

Montgomery: After the da charges you, the next step will be to enter a plea.

Rey: Did you get everything you needed?

Michael: Uh, it has nothing to do with my needs. Chelsea and her attorney are attempting to build the foundation for a diminished capacity defense.

[ Sighs ] But just watching her, she's obviously not herself. I don't plan on opposing the motion. Ah, mr. Montgomery, I'll walk you out. Alright, detective.

Rey: Mm.

Chelsea: I'm just -- I'm really anxious about all these steps, you know? I mean, I -- I have no idea how this is gonna turn out.

Rey: Chelsea, there's something I want to tell you, sort of off the record.

Chelsea: Okay.

Rey: I know that you're dealing with a lot right now. I don't want to make things more complicated. But you should hear this, 'cause I think it'll help you. Maybe not right now, but later when you can grasp it clearly.

Chelsea: What are you talking about?

Rey: I know that you've heard this from other people, and I'm hoping that you can trust it coming from me. Adam and sharon didn't have an affair. Listen, after everything that you told me, I was worried they were involved. That nearly ended my marriage. But after talking to sharon and to adam, I am confident that nothing happened. I-I know how strongly you feel about this, but I'm afraid that it was all in your head.

Chelsea: No, I know what i know, rey. We are the victims in all this. We were the ones mistreated -- by adam and sharon.

Rey: Chelsea, I know this is hard to hear, but I am telling you the truth.

Chelsea: Rey, I know what i saw. They were together! I saw them! They flaunted it right in front of me, and they went up the stairs together. It happened. I saw it.

Rey: It's simply not true.

Chelsea: [ Sighs ]

Rey: And I think I can convince you that adam's faithful if you just let me.

Chelsea: [ Sighs ]

Imani: I don't see how this undermines your blackmail theory. Richard could have still needed the money for a million different reasons. He probably put himself in a position where someone at newman wanted to get rid of him.

Amanda: Seems very unlikely, given what my source told me.

Naya: You have one job -- clear sutton ames of these charges. I don't see how any of this helps.

Amanda: I cannot ignore what I have learned. Even if it weren't extremely personal, it is important to this case. No, richard nealon is no longer anonymous to me. He was looking for me. He wanted to know me. And it is getting harder to believe that you aren't holding something back.

Imani: My mother has -- our mother has told you everything she knows. She has opened up and brought you into this family -- a gesture built on trust. Now it's time for you to trust her.

Naya: You'll have to excuse me. I just need some time to think.

Imani: Why would you say those things to her?

Amanda: What would you do if you were in my position? This is my father.

Imani: And she is your mother -- that woman that you just insulted.

Amanda: I did no such thing.

Imani: This is brutal for her. She wasn't in love with richard, but she did have twins by him. Imagine how difficult this is for her to find out he was murdered, and then on top of that, that her father is the suspect. How about having some empathy for her instead of insensitive questions and innuendos?

Amanda: These "insensitive questions" might be the only thing that keeps our grandfather out of prison.

Adam: So I'll bring in some engineers to check the infrastructure, make sure the networks are running at full capacity.

Victor: Alright. While you deal with the technical side, I'm going to do some re-branding and marketing. I think we need a new logo and we need to update the websites, and I've thought about that for a while and I think the best person to do that would be your nephew, my grandson, noah. He's a great visual artist, you know.

Adam: He's a good choice.

Victor: Yeah.

Adam: I don't have a problem working with him.

Victor: Okay.

Adam: I just -- I don't know if he would want to work with me. He's a good, loyal son who has soaked up a lot of nick's not-so-genuine opinions of me.

Victor: I understand, but once he realizes that you and nicholas are mending fences, i don't think he'll mind jumping on board.

Adam: Well, I'll let you call him and discuss that. It's worth a shot.

Victor: I'll do that.

[ Cellphone chimes ]

Adam: What is it? Something about newman media?

Victor: No, it's about some investigation.

Adam: The politician from illinois? Sutton ames?

Victor: How do you know about that?

Adam: Your name was mentioned in an article about a former newman employee who died decades ago.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Adam: Is that gonna be a problem?

Victor: Just a nuisance, that's all. I knew about the tremors.

Victor: I think this was a good start. Let's reconvene later in the day and plan out the rest of the week, alright?

Adam: [ Sighs ] That sounds good. And I'm sorry I wasn't 100%. I just -- I'm a little distracted after talking to my attorney.

Victor: I understand.

Adam: It doesn't make any sense. I'm not a fugitive anymore. I'm not a suspect for any crime, and yet I'm still barred from seeing my son.

Victor: Why don't you simply let me make a call?

Adam: No, I appreciate that. I really do, but for the time being, I'm gonna -- I'm gonna try something on my own. Wasting time with lawyers reminded me when it comes to family, I have to do it myself, so I'm gonna do what is necessary.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Adam: Just like you would do.

Victor: Okay.

Sharon: How's it going?

Moses: Good.

Faith: It was going great, until we got to the part of the five stages of cell mitosis. You know anything about that?

Sharon: Oh, yeah, I do, a lot. But I think it's important that you learn this all on your own. I'm just kidding. When I came out here, I was asking about refills. I didn't realize I was gonna have to know something about microbiology.

Faith: We could probably use some refills. We might be here for a while. Moses came up with a great idea.

Sharon: What's that?

Moses: Well, a concept like this is hard to absorb with just text, but if faith does a visual extra-credit project, I think she'll understand it better.

Faith: And you're gonna help me, right?

Moses: No.

Faith: What I think you meant to say was yes, but it came out as no.

Moses: I learned a lot about this doing it all by myself, and I wouldn't want to cheat you out of the experience.

Faith: Okay, if I had known that I was working solo, i wouldn't have said yes. Yeah, we might be here for a while.

Sharon: Refills coming up.

Rey: Look, chelsea, I'm not a psychiatrist, okay? But it's clear from your condition -- the store, the paralysis, your isolation -- led to a paranoia about adam and sharon. It fed on itself, and you became convinced that they were having an affair, but it didn't happen.

Chelsea: Okay. [ Chuckles ] I understand why you would want to think that, rey, but this has been going on for a really long time.

Rey: Yeah, they -- they have a connection. A deep one. And maybe adam would've taken that further if he could. We both saw that photo of him kissing her.

Chelsea: Yes, exactly! So if they're willing to do that in public, why is it so hard for you to believe that they would take it further in private?

Rey: Because in my line of work, I've learned that in order to support my assumptions and theories, I need evidence.

Chelsea: Okay, so the fact that I saw it with my own eyes, you don't consider that evidence?

Rey: I think you need to take a step back.

Chelsea: Oh, my god.

Rey: You keep saying that they were brazenly flaunting their affair in front of you or that they were going upstairs together to the bedroom.

Chelsea: Yeah.

Rey: But ask yourself -- does any of that line up with the way that they were before -- before you had the stroke?

Chelsea: Yes, it lines up with their entire history!

Rey: They were together before, but that was in the past. Things are different now.

Chelsea: Oh, my god, oh, my god. Rey, if you honestly think that, then you are the one that's delusional. Yeah, I mean, how many times in the past have they said that they were through? But they've never been able to get out of each other's lives for good.

Rey: Yeah, they have had trouble cutting ties emotionally.

Chelsea: Yeah.

Rey: But that is different, chelsea, than being romantically involved. Try to look at it from a different perspective. Do you really think that they would go out of their way, not only to have an affair, but to rub it in your face?

Chelsea: I don't know, rey. Maybe that was part of the thrill for adam. I don't know, because I was sitting there powerless and vulnerable. He knew I couldn't do anything to stop it. I couldn't get away.

Rey: Well, I can't speak for adam, but I know for a fact that sharon does not have that kind of cruelty in her.

Chelsea: You just don't want to see it.

Rey: Chelsea...am I making any sense?

Chelsea: [ Sighs ] I was wrong? About all of it? No. There's no way. There's no way.

[ Sighs ] Oh, my god. I'm so sorry. I'm so ashamed. I -- I... oh, god, I hurt you. I hurt you so badly. But I thought I had a reason, and you're telling me that's not true and I did it all for nothing.

[ Sniffles ] Oh, my god, I'm horrible. I'm a terrible person.

Rey: Chelsea. Hey, hey, hey. I didn't tell you this to make you feel guilty. I told you so that you might start to heal.

Chelsea: [ Breathes heavily ] I don't believe it. I mean, I did all of this, I did everything because... because I thought adam was a lying cheater. Have I just been wrong the whole time?

Feeling sluggish or weighed

down?

"The young and the restless"

will continue.

Devon: Thank you very much.

Victor: Hey, devon.

Devon: Mr. Newman.

Victor: How you doing?

Devon: Doing well. How you doing? You working lunch today?

Victor: Yeah, a little work, no lunch.

Devon: Oh. [ Chuckles ]

Victor: So, how's the tribute for neil going?

Devon: It's going very well. We have everything in place, and if my instincts are right, it's gonna be a very special day.

Victor: You bet. If anyone deserves a tribute, it's neil.

Devon: I appreciate that.

Victor: Uh, are you and amanda sinclair kind of close?

Devon: I'd say so. We're dating.

Victor: Oh, yeah? Wow.

Devon: Yeah.

Victor: Ah. She, um, came to me the other day about some case that she's handling, you know?

Devon: Sutton ames, right?

Victor: Yeah. And she seems to think she has a handle on it.

Devon: [ Chuckles ] Well, I know she's been working very hard on it.

Victor: Yeah.

Devon: But you know I'm not at liberty to discuss her case.

Victor: Of course not.

Devon: I know you understand that.

Victor: Of course not. Well, it's the kind of case that makes or breaks a legal career.

Devon: You're saying that like it's a bad thing.

Victor: No. I just hope that she doesn't make a big mistake, okay? You convey my regards, okay?

Devon: I will do that.

Victor: Nice to see you.

Devon: You too, sir.

Naya: I, uh... I apologize for getting emotional.

Amanda: And I'm sorry for having to put you in that position.

Naya: It's, uh --

[ Chuckles ] It's probably obvious that this has caught me completely off guard. I had no idea richard knew. I mean, I can't figure out for the life of me how he learned that I was pregnant.

[ Stammers ] And it's clear he did. Finding out that he had a desire to want to know you and that he was killed before he could find you or hilary... it breaks my heart.

Imani: Mom, maybe we should leave. You have a lot to process.

Amanda: We're just getting started.

Naya: I agree with imani. I just need some time to think about it, you know? I know I can seem cold or stoic, amanda. But I have feelings, too, and this has affected me. We'll be in touch.

Amanda: Just answer one question. You keep saying that you had no contact with richard after you broke things off. I need to know if you were being honest.

Naya: I'm gonna try my best to not resent that question. Of course I was.

Chelsea: I held onto this so tightly. I can see adam and sharon walking up the stairs together. But [Sighs] It didn't happen, did it?

Rey: No.

Chelsea: Which means i imagined it.

Rey: [ Breathes deeply ]

Chelsea: I'm not well, am I? I'm -- I'm far from being healthy.

Rey: Well, if the judge accepts your plea, you'll have plenty of time to sort through everything here.

Chelsea: Yeah. Yeah. You're right. I see that now. I just... I need time.

[ Sighs ]

Rey: I'm gonna give you some privacy so you can start your healing process.

Chelsea: Rey, um... what's going on with adam? Is he staying in town?

Rey: I don't know. I don't care. In order for sharon and I to rebuild our marriage, we need to put adam behind us. And if you don't mind me saying so, I think that would be best for you to start getting better, too. You need to begin by forgiving yourself, and then just let him go. Forget about all the questions about where he is or what he's doing and focus on yourself. That's the best advice I can give you.

Chelsea: Well, I -- even if my relationship's over, I'm really glad that you got to hold on to yours.

Rey: Thank you. And listen, um, I know I didn't tell you directly the other day when you asked me, but if it helps, I forgive you, chelsea.

Chelsea: Thank you. That means everything. Rey, um...

[ Sighs ] I know it might sound a little weird, but [Chuckles] Um, do you think you could come back every once in a while, like, just for a visit? Your presence is comforting. I don't know. Maybe that's your training, but I -- I just feel like you get me.

Rey: I'll ask your doctor, see if it's allowed. If it's approved, I'll be back.

[ Door closes ]

Chelsea: [ Sighs heavily ]

Saturdays happen.

Amanda: What is all this?

Devon: Well, I thought that you'd have your hands full with your mom and sister today, and i figured that you probably didn't eat and that you would need to relax.

Amanda: You were right about that.

[ Both chuckle ] Ooh, okay. Mm-hmm.

Devon: [ Chuckles ]

Amanda: Hmm.

Devon: So, you want to talk about what happened?

Amanda: No, mnh-mnh. Eventually. [ Laughs ]

Devon: That's fine. Even though I'm eager to hear, there is no rush.

Amanda: Look, thank you, devon, for all of this, but, um -- but really for your thought and consideration always. But what I could use most right now is a hug. I don't remember needing one more.

Rey: It was so nice getting your text as I was finishing my talk with chelsea.

Sharon: How did that go?

Rey: You know, it went as good as it could have. She gave her official statement, and she accepted responsibility for what she did to me.

Sharon: Well, I'm glad she owned up to it. She's gonna be in that facility for a long time working with her doctors to get well. But what's important now is that you're done.

Rey: That's right. The case is in michael's hands now.

Sharon: And we can focus on getting our lives back on track.

Rey: There was more to my conversation with chelsea. As I was leaving, she requested that I come back from time to time to see her.

Sharon: Well, I hope you let her down easy. She is in a fragile state.

Rey: I gave it some thought. I think I should do it.

Sharon: But just yesterday you were saying that you still thought it was possible she was faking the whole thing.

Rey: Yeah. I know. And I still haven't dismissed my suspicions. I mean I watched her closely the whole time today, and I still couldn't tell.

Sharon: Then why would you do this for her?

Rey: Because if she is faking, I should study her so i can prove it. But if she's not and she really needs me there to heal, well, sharon, I wasn't raised to turn my back on people. I was raised to help.

[ Door opens ]

Dr. Hedges: Chelsea. You have a visitor here.

Chelsea: [ Gasps ] What does he want?! What is he doing here?!

Dr. Hedges: Adam has requested some time to speak with you.

Chelsea: I don't want to talk to him!

Dr. Hedges: I was opposed to the idea initially, but after speaking with him, I think it will be beneficial. It will help get certain aspects of your life back to normal.

Chelsea: Dr. Hedges --

Dr. Hedges: It will be good for your progress, something i could report officially. Do you see the value of it now?

Chelsea: [ Sighs ]

Dr. Hedges: Okay. I'll be right outside.

Adam: Thank you.

Dr. Hedges: You're welcome.

Chelsea: What are you doing here?

Adam: I didn't come here to upset you, chelsea. But it was time. There were some things that i wanted to say, but I couldn't until now.

Chelsea: Such as?

Adam: I wanted to let you know that I forgive you for everything that's happened. And if there's any blame to go around, it should fall on me. I'm the one that put you in that position. I pushed you to act out, and i should have been more aware.

Chelsea: Yeah. You did. Is that all? Are we done here?

Adam: No, not quite. Our son doesn't have a parent he can count on right now.

Chelsea: He can count on me.

Adam: No, not while you're in here, chelsea. And you still have a standing court order keeping me away from him. Now, I've been cleared by the police. I'm not a fugitive anymore. And that was the only reason that you were able to get a restraining order. So...let me be a father again.

Chelsea: No!

Adam: [ Sighs ] And tonight's winning numbers are 18,

Amanda: Okay, I feel renewed.

Devon: Good. Are you ready to talk about what happened with imani and naya?

Amanda: Not quite yet.

Devon: No? That's okay. That's okay. In the meantime, would you like to hear about the meeting I had today?

Amanda: Yeah. With whom?

Devon: Victor newman.

Amanda: Really?

Devon: We ran into each at society, and he started fishing around about the case and your involvement. And when I didn't give him any information, he had a warning for you.

Amanda: What's that?

Devon: He hopes that you're not going down the wrong path.

Amanda: I wish I knew what the right path was. I don't know. But since your meeting was connected to mine, I might as well fill you in. I told naya that richard knew that she was pregnant and that he was looking for his child, and she immediately denied telling him anything and reminded me that she's been consistent about that since we met.

Devon: So, how did he find out?

Amanda: Well, if I had to bet, naya's lying and she had more interactions with him than she's letting on -- because if victor's to be believed, richard definitely knew that he was a father.

Devon: Well, if she is lying, I'm sorry about that. I know that's not the kind of relationship you want to have with your mom.

Amanda: I still have two big unanswered questions that I kept from naya and imani for now.

Devon: Do you care to share them with me?

Amanda: I always assumed that when richard went to sutton, it was about newman. But what if it was about me and hilary? That changes everything. And if it was... how does that tie in to his death?

Chelsea: You said it yourself -- you are to blame for this. I was vulnerable, and you pushed me to an even more vulnerable place.

Adam: Look, I'm a good father, and you know that. What's best for connor is the only thing that should matter right now, chelsea.

Chelsea: I am not letting you see my son before I do.

Adam: I'm not gonna say one unkind word about you to our son. This has nothing to do with getting to him first to try to create a narrative. It's about getting through to a confused boy who, for the past few months, has had very little contact with his parents. We can't keep creating excuses while he's at boarding school. It is time, chelsea.

Chelsea: No! I don't believe that you won't twist the truth and try to turn connor's mind against me, try to poison his mind. You haven't changed, adam, and you're never gonna change! So, no, I'm not believing any of this!

Dr. Hedges: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey! What's going on here?

Adam: I'm sorry, doctor. I didn't mean to agitate her.

Chelsea: You know, I may be stuck in here for now, but one day that is gonna change, and when that happens, I am going to find connor and make sure he stays as far away from you as possible.

Dr. Hedges: [ Sighs ] I can see that you're upset, chelsea, but what adam is proposing is actually a good thing.

Chelsea: What?

Dr. Hedges: You're going to be here for a while, recuperating, healing, and while that's going on, we need to be careful about how your situation is presented to your son. Things are going to change, but until then, he needs to know that he has a parent that he can count on right now. And irrationally arguing over something that won't help your cause and will only raise questions about the progress that you are making won't help you at all. Chelsea, let adam be a father to connor.
