Victor: It's me. I, uh, don't know if this number's still active, but i have no other way of reaching you. Um, as soon as you get this message, kindly call me back, alright, son? I need to know that you're alright. That's all that matters to me. Okay?
Rey: Make sure you say hello to adam for me.
Sharon: Just try to drink some water, sweetie.
Nikki: Faith, do you remember what happened? You had just stood up, and then you collapsed. Do you remember that?
Faith: We were talking about my rehab.
Nikki: Yes, that's right.
Faith: [ Sighs ] I got -- I got warm, and then everything went black.
Nick: Sorry I'm late. What's going on?
Nikki: Faith collapsed.
Sharon: Yeah, we were talking and she got warm and she just fell.
Nick: Well, how are you feeling now?
Faith: My stomach. I'm tired.
Nick: Uh...hold on a second. Hey, elena, uh, we could use a doctor.
Elena: What's the problem?
Nick: It's faith. She passed out, and we don't know why.
Tara: You can talk to your father when we get home. We are both gonna give you the biggest hugs. I love you so, so much, harrison, and I will see you tomorrow. Love you. You were listening to my call.
Kyle: I'm sorry. I heard harrison's name. I was intrigued. I couldn't help myself.
Tara: You need to try harder. My son doesn't know who you are, kyle.
Kyle: Okay, there's a good chance I'll never see you and ashland again after you leave genoa city again tomorrow. I think that's a good thing.
Kyle: Even if we go into business with ashland, you and i should avoid each other.
Tara: That's for the best.
Kyle: So just do me one favor.
Tara: What's that?
Kyle: Tell me something about harrison, a favorite joke or toy, something small I can hold onto. Please, tara.
Tara: [ Sighs ] His favorite song is "twinkle, twinkle, little star."
Kyle: [ Laughs ] Really?
Tara: Yeah. He sings it all the time. But when he gets to the -- up above the world so high -- he just -- he says -- ba-ba-ba the world so high it is so adorable. It fills my heart with love every time I hear it. And I know he is going to outgrow it soon, and it is gonna break my heart when he does.
Kyle: Ba-ba-ba the world so high
[ Chuckles ] Yeah, that's pretty cute.
Tara: [ Chuckles ] Okay. I did what you asked. I have to go.
Summer: You loved jack? After what, like, three dates? Don't you think that's a little melodramatic, sally?
Sally: It's the truth. Yes, we hadn't been together that long, but my feelings for him were growing stronger and stronger, and I really was falling in love with him. And then you and your mom had to go and ruin it for me, and i lost him.
Summer: No, sally, you lost him because of who you are and what you did in california, not because of what anyone else said or did. You can't run from something so despicable.
Sally: I've said my piece. There is nothing else for me to say except...I hope you know how lucky you are. Jack.

Sally: How long were you out here?
Jack: I was just walking by. Why? What's going on?
Sally: Uh, nothing. Summer and I were just talking. I just didn't know if we were raising our voices.
Jack: I didn't hear anything. Hopefully the two of you weren't arguing?
Sally: No, no, it was strictly business. Um, jack...are you free later?
Sally: Yeah. Maybe we could grab a coffee and, you know, talk, air some things out?
Jack: You really think we should do that?
Sally: If you have time. It won't take long.
Jack: Sally, look --
Sally: Are you really so angry with me that you won't even watch me humiliate myself, groveling for forgiveness? Really? 'Cause it's gonna be quite a show, and, quite frankly, it's not really something I'm used to.
Jack: Funny. I would have guessed the other way.
Sally: Jack, I'm trying, okay? I'm pulling out all the stops just to get you to say yes. Yes, I know I brought this on myself, but haven't you been in my shoes before?
Jack: I may have a few minutes this afternoon. I'll text you. We can meet at crimson lights.
Sally: Yeah, that's -- that's great. Thank you. I will see you there.
Summer: Really, jack?
Jack: I take it you heard.
Summer: I heard enough to know that you're too kindhearted for your own good.
Jack: Perhaps I am.
Rey: Hey, chef. You got a minute?
Lola: Hey, you. What's going on?
Rey: Where do I start?
Lola: Well, tell me what's up. You seem irritated.
Rey: Yeah. I bumped into victor newman.
Lola: Okay. That'll do it. Let me guess -- he is angry at you for having the gall to investigate his son for poisoning you?
Rey: Something like that. But he's not half as angry as i am at him for helping his son hide.
Lola: Do you have any proof of that yet?
Rey: No, not yet.
Lola: Well, something else is going on because fighting victor newman just seems like a day in the life of a detective in genoa city. Were you able to speak to sharon yesterday?
Rey: I love you for trying to help, and I took your advice. Yes, I tried to have a conversation with her about our situation.
Lola: And what happened?
Rey: We started talking, and it seemed like we were getting somewhere, but then she got a phone call, and you'll never guess from whom.
Rey: Yeah. I can't do this anymore. Sharon can't or won't cut him loose, even after everything we've been through. We talked again a little while ago, but it's pointless. Adam has run away to god knows where and he still has an effect on her and that is never going to change.
Elena: Faith, when did you start feeling sick?
Faith: This morning. About an hour ago, I got dizzy. What time is it? I feel like I'm late for something.
Sharon: No, you're not late for anything, sweetie. Just listen to dr. Dawson.
Elena: Do you feel like you ate something that upset your stomach? You feel pretty warm.
Faith: I'm tired, too.
Elena: Okay. Well, sit tight and try to drink some water.
[ Sighs ]
Nick: [ Sighs ] What do you think?
Elena: Well, faith has a fever, and that combined with her collapsing is concerning.
Sharon: Rey had similar symptoms, I mean, you know, when he was poisoned. Do you think --
Elena: That it could be thallium poisoning? Frankly, I don't want to guess, so let's just get her to the hospital, run some tests, and we'll see what's going on.
Nick: Yeah, we'll meet you there.
Elena: Okay, but we should go now.
Elena: Okay. Excuse me. I'll be observing your safe-driving abilities.
Kyle: On my way over here, ashland's team in new york e-mailed me this contract. It's basically the original contract, just sweetened a bit, a better rate on the advertising package, and he kicked in a little something for the closing of the factories.
Jack: Gee. Big of him.
Kyle: Well, I looked it over. There don't seem to be any traps or time bombs.
Jack: I still think legal ought to go over this line by line.
Kyle: Definitely, but it appears to be straightforward and above-board, despite what tara said about ashland using these types of deals to investigate corporate weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
Jack: Okay, if all the specifics of this deal check out, I think we ought to stay the course, just as we discussed. We'll do business with him, but we will cut him loose at the first opportunity.
Kyle: Well, I'll take it over to legal now then.
Jack: Kyle, I want you to know how impressed I am at the way you handled this. I know it hasn't been easy.
Kyle: Well, it all started with my lapse in judgment a few years back, so I had to do everything I could to fix it.
Jack: Even so, I made many mistakes of that ilk at your age, and I don't think I had the maturity or the strength to do what you've done.
Kyle: Dad, it was nothing.
Jack: No, it is something. You were willing to walk away from jabot to save the family company. That would have been a major sacrifice on your part. One day you're gonna have a son of your own, and you'll know how I feel. I'm very proud of you, son.
Kyle: [ Chuckles ]
Victor: What about his contacts in vegas? Nothing? Have you tried his friend in new york?
[ Sighs ] Well, you'd better double-down, alright? I need to find my son. If you can't, I'll hire someone else who can. That clear?
Rey: So, you really don't know where he is.
Victor: You're getting on my nerves, detective. Is that the extent of your inspector clouseau technique? Lurking behind me and eavesdropping on my conversation?
Rey: No, I just go to where the evidence takes me.
Victor: Well, the evidence, for your information, is taking you very close to harassment territory. So if I were you, I'd be careful, alright?
Rey: So, that phone call was either a worried father trying to locate his son or a really good fake put on for my benefit.
Victor: Are you flattering yourself? Do you honestly think I'd do something for your damn benefit?
Rey: You know, if you are looking for adam, you should check with sharon. He called her yesterday.
Victor: Ohh. Now we're touching a sore point, aren't we, huh? You're upset that adam still trusts sharon enough to call her.
Rey: What upsets me is that the man who might have tried to kill me is still on the run and you could have turned him in but you didn'T.
Victor: "Might have" tried to kill you. Does that mean that you're edging closer to the notion that perhaps chelsea is behind all this?
Rey: Yeah, well, the gcpd is pursing all avenues. But right now I'm honing in on the man who ran for the hills when we were closing in on him. That's not the action of an innocent man.
Victor: Ooh, interesting. You know why he's running for the damn hills? Because he knows you are not motivated by justice when you pursue him. You're motivated by revenge and by jealously, right, detective?
[ Cellphone ringing ] Yes?
Nikki: Oh, victor, thank god I caught you. It's faith. She's at memorial.
Victor: Faith is in the hospital?
Nikki: She collapsed. We're still waiting to hear what's going on. They're doing some more tests.
Victor: Oh, my god. Okay. I'll be right there.
Nikki: You don't have to rush. We might as well wait until we hear something from the doctors.
Victor: No, no, no, no. I'll be right there, okay?
Nikki: Don't you have a meeting scheduled?
Victor: We can push that.
Nikki: No, go to your meeting, and I will keep you updated. I promised.
[ Sighs ]
Rey: What's going on with faith?
Victor: [ Sighs ] That is none of your business.
Sharon: Faith was feeling fine. She'd recovered from her accident. She was upbeat after her first rehab session today. I can't believe we're back here. I don't know how many times I've been in this hospital for one of my children. I hate it here.
Nick: You brought up at crimson lights that faith could be infected by that poison that made rey sick.
Sharon: No, I was just speculating. There's no real reason to believe that that's what happened.
Nick: Well, if it's true and adam is responsible?
Nikki: We don't know that, so let's not jump to conclusions.
Nick: Well, I don't know what else could be causing this.
Sharon: Well, you're not a doctor, nick.
Nick: I know that when faith left this hospital, she was given a clean bill of health by the doctors. If there was something else wrong with her, they would have found it. But she went home. She spent most of the time at your place, where rey was poisoned by adam.
Sharon: Let's just focus on faith, please.
Nick: Well, you're the one who brought it up in the first place.
Sharon: Okay, fine. But we don't know anything yet. And it doesn't help dragging adam's name into it. It doesn't help anybody. I don't even believe that adam is guilty of poisoning rey, so let's not implicate him in faith's illness now.
Nick: Well, the thallium had to get in your house somehow.
Sharon: Let's not forget he was also responsible for saving faith.
Nick: I won't, but I also won't forget that faith turned to drinking to cope with the bullies who were messing with her because they found out what adam did to faith when she was a baby. That's when all this started.
Sharon: You can't blame him for everything.
Nick: I can, and I do. He is the reason we are here, no matter what.
Nikki: Stop. Stop it, both of you. Just stop right now.
Nikki: Adam has done many terrible things, but he's not responsible for faith's drinking. He's not even the point here. Faith is. Her health is.
Sharon: I agree 100%. Faith should be our focus, period.
Nikki: I know you're afraid. We all are, but we have to stay strong while we wait to hear real answers from real doctors. Let's not fall into the rabbit hole of conjecture and assumptions, please.
Nick: You're both right. I'll stay on track. I promise.
[ Cellphone vibrating ]
Nikki: [ Gasps ] It's victoria. I have to take this. She can get word to the rest of the family. Hi. Um, I have some news.
Nick: You would think at my age it would be embarrassing getting scolded by my mother in public, but I guess I'm used to it.
Sharon: She's just looking out for faith's best interests.
Nick: I'm sorry I brought up adam.
Sharon: It's okay.
Nick: Mom's right. We both need to stay positive.
Sharon: That's just hard considering we were just here worried sick about our little girl and now we're back here under the same stress again. I just want some answers.
Nate: I might have some.
Sharon: Nate. How's faith?
Jack: Yep, kyle's going over the numbers as we speak.
[ Keys clacking ] And everything is good. Look, if we can keep these production levels up, we may actually get past this thing. Thank you, morgan.
Summer: Well, hey, that sounded positive.
Kyle: That was our plant manager at brash and sassy.
Jack: Retrofitting is complete. We are up and running. If our distribution chain holds up, we're gonna be able to keep our footing.
Kyle: Hasn't been any more sabotage, no more rumors, no more random investigations. It looks like tara was telling the truth. I trust her personally. Is it crazy I trust her with this?
Jack: She knows locke better than anyone else. She would have the best information.
Summer: But did she share it all with you?
Kyle: If she thought he was playing us, she'd say so. She doesn't want to see me get run over. I'm sure of it. You know, maybe we should take this good news for what it's worth and stop looking for trouble.
Jack: [ Sighs ]
Sally: Tara. Sally spectra, the woman who loved your shoe designs?
Tara: Right. How are you?
Sally: Good. I heard about ashland. I hope he's doing alright.
Tara: Thank you. I'm headed to the hospital now.
Sally: He's -- he's doing well?
Tara: The doctors are optimistic, but I can't wait to get him back to new york.
Sally: Oh. Best of luck.
Tara: Take care.
Sally: [ Sighs ]
[ Cellphone pings ] Tara, while your husband is recovering, will you do your best to distract him so he'll stop going after my friends?
Tara: I beg your pardon.
Sally: I think you heard me.
Nate: I want to give you good news, but I am very concerned.
Sharon: Is it thallium poisoning?
Nate: I can assure you it is not thallium poisoning.
Sharon: Oh, thank god.
Nick: Then what is going on with her?
Nate: All indicators right now are pointing to a post-infectious ain -- acute interstitial nephritis.
Sharon: Is that serious?
Nate: It can be. What's happening is faith has an infection. We're still nailing down a precise type. But her immune system, for some reason, has its wires crossed. It's gone on the attack, but not against the infection. It's attacking her kidneys.
Nate: Faith is sick because her kidneys are failing. Look at what's happened to me.
"The young and the restless"
Sharon: Is this infection from her accident? Or was it maybe something she was exposed to at the hospital?
Nate: It's difficult to say right now. But at this point, the infection is not the real problem. We have ways to mitigate it. Her body's reaction to the infection is the real concern. Elena's talking to a renal specialist now to come up with some solutions.
Nick: I can't believe this is happening. I mean, just yesterday she was healthy and -- how is this possible?
Nate: Faith appeared healthy, but we know otherwise now. She already had the infection. She was fighting it.
Nick: [ Sighs ] Alright. Then what's the plan? I mean, what kind of timeline are we talking about?
Nate: [ Sighs ]
[ Cellphone pings ] The specialist would like to perform a renal biopsy to confirm our diagnosis.
Nate: No, no. It's percutaneous -- a needle. We just need enough of a tissue sample from a kidney to really examine it under a microscope. We'll know more after that. I'll be back as fast as possible. We'll try to answer all your questions then.
Nick: Yeah. Do what you got to do.
[ Sighs ]
Lola: Ah. You're still here. Is everything alright?
Lola: What about her?
Rey: She's in the hospital.
Lola: Wait. What happened?
Rey: I don't know. I was just talking to victor, he got a phone call about it, and then he took off. I haven't heard a word from anybody else.
Lola: And sharon hasn't called or texted you?
Rey: You know, faith is my stepdaughter, and I'm finding out secondhand.
Lola: I'm so sorry, rey. I know that you're going through a very difficult time right now, and now this.
Rey: She doesn't know that i moved out last night. Sharon was supposed to tell her I'm working nights. I just -- I just don't understand. Why -- why hasn't she called?
Lola: She's probably just busy with faith. Rey, just go to the hospital. I mean, it doesn't matter who didn't tell you or how you found out. If faith and her well-being is what matters to you, then you have to go and be there for faith. And for sharon.
Rey: [ Sighs ]
[ Cellphone pings ]
Tara: You want ashland to lay off your friends? What does that mean? Who are your friends?
Sally: Ashland went after jabot. He tried to sabotage the entire company before he had a heart attack, didn't he?
Tara: You're out of line. And you're just plain wrong.
Sally: Okay. Sure I am. See, the thing is, ashland's probably gone after all sorts of people and businesses, but why jabot? Why would he punish all of these great people that work there, like jack abbott? He's a decent man, probably the most decent one I've ever met in my life, and why should he be held responsible because his son can't keep it zipped?
Tara: You don't even work for jabot, do you?
Sally: Well, no, but it is very closely aligned with fenmore'S.
Tara: I have no idea what anything you're saying means. It's gibberish.
Sally: Got it. Mm-hmm. Understood. See, the -- what I'm actually trying to say is, if you have any influence at all over your husband, you should try and convince him that what he's doing is misguided and wrong. Plus, karma is a bitch. And I have no doubt that jack and kyle will turn it back around on ashland eventually.
Tara: Why are you taking on this fight? You don't strike me as the altruistic type.
Sally: You don't know me.
Tara: I've known women like you my whole life. You're not very hard to read. So, what's in it for you? You're interested in kyle, but he has summer, who also accosted me about this same thing. No. Wait. It's jack abbott you're defending. He's the friend you're concerned about?
Sally: I'm worried about jabot because I can't stand seeing innocent people hurt due to ashland's games. And nobody should ever underestimate jack abbott. He's kind and decent. He is nothing like your husband. He's got integrity. But he will do whatever he needs to, to protect his family and his employees.
[ Sighs ] Rinsing the dishes before they go in the dishwasher?
Kyle: Well, let's just get the product on the trucks. We'll get it where it needs to go to eventually. Thanks, tommy.
Summer: More good news?
Kyle: One of our smaller plants in indiana are still up and running. Dad will be glad to hear that.
Kyle: Where is he?
Summer: Ooh, I will give you three guesses. First two don't count, and your third one really should be "hanging out with sally."
Summer: Mm-hmm. I heard her begging him to sit down and chat with her.
Kyle: Yeah, well, I'm sure it won't go any farther than that. He's just being dad -- polite, courteous, and well-mannered. But as far as it goes with sally, his eyes have been opened.
Jack: How is ashland doing?
Tara: Stable. Looks like we'll be heading home tomorrow.
Jack: Glad to hear it. Kyle mentioned that the two of you had had a productive talk.
Tara: We did.
Jack: He said this incident seems to have given your husband a whole new outlook, a more positive, uh, perspective on life.
Tara: You put it better than I could have. Ashland is anxious to get home. He's grateful for the second chance he's been given.
Jack: Well, I'm glad to hear that. It's been a tense time. We, uh, all would like to relax.
Tara: I think so.
Jack: Yeah. Well, I am very happy personally that he's had a, uh, realignment of his priorities.
Tara: I will be sure to pass along your kind words.
Jack: Please do.
Tara: I'm headed to the hospital now.
Jack: Take care. Travel safely. Seems like I, uh, walked into the middle of something between the two of you.
Sally: I just saw tara, and i couldn't help myself. I had some things to say. How much?
Jack: How much did I hear? Enough.
Elena: You comfortable, faith?
Faith: I guess.
Nikki: Any word on the latest tests she had?
Elena: No, not yet. Dr. Hastings is still in a meeting with the specialist, but we should hear something soon.
Faith: A specialist? I just fainted.
Nikki: Oh, honey. I know how frustrating it is to not know what's going on. But the doctors are doing their very best to get to the bottom of it, and they are very good at what they do, so we should trust them to help you feel better.
Faith: Is it the same thing that happened to rey?
Elena: No. We ruled that out with the blood test.
Faith: Then what's wrong with me?
Elena: Faith, we are doing everything we can to get to the bottom of this. I'm gonna go check in with dr. Hastings right now.
[ Door opens and closes ]
Faith: This is so weird.
Nikki: Yeah, it is, but try not to worry. That's my job.
[ Cellphone vibrating ] Your grandfather wants an update. I'm gonna take this outside.
[ Door closes ]
Nick: There she is.
Faith: Mom. Dad. Do you know what's going on? Nobody's telling me anything, even elena.
Sharon: Well, she probably wanted to give us time to talk to you first.
Faith: That sounds scary.
Nick: Nah. It's nothing we can't handle.
Sharon: Um, at some point in the last few weeks, you've come down with an infection. And your body's fighting it really hard, maybe too hard.
Faith: That's why I've been so tired?
Nick: Yeah, your immune system -- it got confused. Uh, it started, uh, attacking your kidneys 'cause it thought it was fighting an infection.
Sharon: That's why you've had all those tests.
Nick: Nate and the other doctors are doing everything they can. You know, when you think about it, it was very lucky that you fainted when you did so we could get you in here sooner rather than later.
Sharon: Exactly. Now this way, you can get the care that you need that will make you well again.
Faith: Okay. But they can fix this, right?
Nick: The doctors are working on a treatment plan right now.
Sharon: We're just waiting to hear what it is. But we're all sure that it will be exactly what you need.
Moses: Hey, nate. I got a text from faith's grandma. Can I see her?
Nate: Not a good time for a visit, moses.
Moses: Is she okay?
Nate: You know I can't talk to you about a patient.
Moses: Nate, I know the rules, but come on. She's my friend.
Nate: We're doing everything we can for her.
Moses: Well, can I hang out till she's okay to see people?
Nate: You really want to do that?
Moses: Yeah. Sure. And I'll clock in, get some volunteer hours.
Nate: Alright. I'll sign off on that.
Moses: Thanks, nate.
Nick: What have you learned?
Nate: [ Sighs ]
Dry eye symptoms again?
Summer: Alright, fine. If you tell me that I don't need to worry about jack and sally, I won'T. There are plenty of other things to worry about.
Kyle: Mm. Like what?
Summer: Uh, like your potential deal with locke.
Kyle: I'm less worried about that now than I was this morning.
Summer: Are you really that optimistic?
Kyle: I want to be. It seems like we've been on a roller coaster these last few weeks, and I feel like we haven't had any time to breathe or just be with each other. Maybe things are starting to calm down a bit.
Summer: Mm, that would be heaven.
[ Laptop closes ] Let's get off the roller coaster.
Summer: Let's do it. Why don't we announce our engagement?
Kyle: What brought that up?
Summer: I don't know. I want to tell the whole town that we're in love. I want to tell the whole world.
Kyle: You came up with that idea when you were looking for ways to convince ashland that i wasn't interested in tara.
Summer: I know, but my point is, what's stopping us from sharing this news? Nothing. I think it's time that we clear it up for everyone and we let everyone know that nothing is gonna come in the way of us this time.
Kyle: You're absolutely right.
Summer: But look out because we are going big for our wedding this time. I already have a theme in mind. I'm thinking..."unforgettable."
[ Chuckles ] I wouldn't have it any other way.
Sally: I don't mind that you heard what I said. A little embarrassed. But it's kind of what I wanted to tell you anyway.
Jack: You seemed very passionate when you were talking to her.
Sally: I was. It's not fair that ashland locke can wreak this kind of havoc on you and jabot and get away with it. Maybe I got a little carried away, but I said those things to tara because I have your back, whether we're together or not.
Jack: I appreciate that.
Sally: And that's just how i feel...about you... and us. And if given the chance, I will do whatever I can to prove that you can trust me. I may not be perfect, and I may make mistakes. But I have a heart, jack. And... I have... deep feelings for you... deeper than you can ever know. And those feelings are not going away.
Sharon: We'll wait for the doctors and hear their plan. I'm sure it's gonna make you well again.
Faith: I hope so.
Sharon: Are you scared?
Faith: A little.
Sharon: Don't worry, sweetie. You're gonna be alright. We're gonna get you through this.
Faith: Yeah. What's taking dad so long?
Nate: I just talked to the nephrologist. She and I agree we should attack the infection first, and steroids may help. But I need to warn you -- we might not be able to reverse the kidney damage.
Nick: Alright, so, if that doesn't work, what's the next step?
Nate: One option is dialysis.
[ Sighs ] And how involved is that?
Nate: [ Sighs ] It would be three or four hours a visit, three times a week.
Nick: She's 16.
Nate: I understand.
Nick: That's, like, a huge chunk of her life. 12 hours a week? Kids can't handle that much stress. Is it like a couple weeks? A month? What?
Nate: If dialysis is necessary, it's something she might have to deal with the rest of her life.
Nick: No. No, there's got to be another option.
Nate: The alternative would be a kidney transplant.
Nick: [ Breathes deeply ]
Nate: It's a lot. I understand. But you should be prepared to go down that route. Finding a match could be tough, and the wait list could be 5 to 10 years. The alternative to that would be a living donor who's a match and gives up one kidney. Usually it's best if it's a close relative, one with a compatible blood type to minimize the chance of rejection.
Nick: A transplant? My little girl.
Nate: And, nick, I can't stress this enough -- don't wait. Faith has a rare blood type. Finding a donor could be challenging.
