Episode #12045 ~ Chelsea is pushed too far. Sally keeps a secret from Jack. Kyle's past catches up with him.

Provided By Suzanne

Jack: Well, I hope your valentine's day sales forecast is accurate.

Kyle: Oh, I think it is. This could be a record year for jabot.

Jack: Yeah, it's always been a good holiday for us.

Kyle: Valentine's day is great for business, but --

Jack: Personally a little more difficult?

Kyle: It just puts some serious pressure on me. It's not like I can give summer the latest jabot perfume and be done with it.

Jack: No, I guess you can'T. She'd know it came from the sample closet.

Kyle: Exactly. So I have to come up with someone spectacular.

Jack: Well, keep in mind they are predicting a major storm on the 14th. You and summer are gonna want to get out of here before you get stuck in the building again.

Kyle: So, I assume you settled in with a good book to get you through the storm?

Jack: Actually, I had a very interesting evening -- an unexpected houseguest.

Kyle: Who?

Jack: I was snowbound all night with sally spectra.

[ Cellphone ringing ]

Sally: [ Sighs ]

[ Scoffs ] Yes?

Theo: Oh, it's actually you. You know, I was sure I was going straight to voicemail.

Sally: Yeah, well, I just picked up so I could have the pleasure of hanging up on you.

Theo: Uh, hold on. Hold on. Hear me out.

Sally: Why should I, after the way you betrayed me? I know that you're the one that told summer that I was after her job.

Theo: Well, I could see why you'd be angry, but it was the truth, and she had just helped me make a big decision, so -- I don't know -- I felt like owed her.

Sally: Yeah, well, you have no idea what I feel like I owe you.

Theo: Let me make it up to you. I called because I have something on kyle. It's huge.

[ Laptop slams shut ]

Sally: I'm listening.

Theo: This is sensitive information that should be discussed in person.

Sally: Okay. Where are you?

Theo: Chicago. I'm meeting with some cutting-edge jewelry designers for my boutiques in paris.

Sally: Theo, I am not going to chicago.

Theo: [ Sighs ] Okay. I'll hop in car and be in genoa city soon. You are gonna flip when you find out what I heard.

Sally: Well, if this is as juicy as you're making it sound, then I will make myself available.

Theo: It is. One final, fitting screw-you to kyle abbott from moi.

Lauren: Hi. We need to talk, and it's long overdue.

Sharon: You're getting frustrated again, aren't you? You know, I think, really, the big issue here is that you're limited in communication to just "yes" or "no" answers. Do you feel stifled?

Adam: Sharon, do you need some water?

Sharon: Uh, yeah, yeah.

Adam: How's it going?

Sharon: Um, I think she's getting used to the process.

Adam: So, I'm starting to wonder if maybe you should try a different strategy.

Sharon: Yeah? What do you mean?

Adam: You're being too nice. Chelsea is a fighter. Give her a reason to fight.

Sharon: Okay, I know that we talked about a more confrontational style of therapy, which I know has its merits. I mean, some of the cases that I've been reading about show that if we tapped into her anger, it might motivate her to blow past whatever these mental blocks she's having that are keeping her from recovering. But I just -- I don't know. I don't know if she's ready for that.

Adam: No, but I believe she is.

Sharon: She's in a pretty fragile state. Maybe we should just build her up to it.

Adam: Sharon, you're being too kind and gentle. Chelsea's not afraid of conflict. Give her some.

Sharon: You comfortable? See, I don't believe you. I think that you're just giving me pat answers so that we'll get through this faster and I'll be out of here soon.

Chelsea: [ Thinking ] You nailed it.

Sharon: I think you like keeping it to simple "yes" and "no" answers. That way, you don't have to address any deep issues. Yeah, that way you can just sit there in the chair being stubborn or afraid or pretending that it isn't your mind that's keeping you locked in that chair like a prisoner.

Chelsea: [ Thinking ] What are you saying to me?

Sharon: Chelsea, the doctors see no reason why you're not starting to make progress, so you need to face whatever this emotional block is that you're suffering from.

Chelsea: [ Thinking ] Don't you think I want to get better? Sharing my feelings with you is not the solution.

Sharon: Oh, are you angry? What? Angry at the world? Angry at adam? Me? Oh, I'm the problem?

Chelsea: [ Thinking ] You're always the problem, sharon.

Sharon: I think you hate it that I'm here. In fact, you hate my guts, don't you? No, no, no, no need to blink. If that's how you really feel, why don't you say it to my face? Why don't you tell me how much you hate my guts, chelsea? 'Cause I want to hear it. Say it. Say something, chelsea.

Sharon: No? Nothing to say?

Chelsea: [ Thinking ] I wish I could tell you exactly how i feel, sharon.

Sharon: Well, I'm not giving up. I'll be back here in your home. You can get rid of me, though. All you have to do is get better. I know you can.

Adam: I'll walk you out. I'll be right back.

[ Door closes ]

Chelsea: [ Thinking ] Come on, chelsea.

Kyle: Did you say sally spectra spent the night at the house?

Jack: Yeah, that's right.

Kyle: Please explain.

Jack: Well, there isn't much to explain. She came out to the house with some fenmore papers I needed to sign. The roads were getting icier and icier, and that was dangerous, especially for a california girl, so I insisted she stay. It isn't like we don't have a lot of room.

Kyle: Dad, please tell me she left in the morning. I can see her taking your generosity, warping it, and moving in.

Jack: Okay, relax. She's gone. Actually, it was a very pleasant evening. I learned there's more to sally than just drive and ambition. She can be very down-to-earth.

Kyle: Mm, I have not seen that side to her.

Jack: I thought she and summer had worked out their differences.

Kyle: I'm just a little concerned that you're becoming sally's champion.

Jack: Well, I think that's taking it a little far. It's always been in my nature to look out for the underdog.

Kyle: That's where we differ. I don't see sally spectra as an underdog.

Jack: Perhaps that's because you don't know her that well. She's made mistakes. She admits that.

Kyle: I also found out where her fire comes from. As a very young child, she was abandoned by her parents. It's toughened her up.

Kyle: Mm. Or gave her a victim card to play.

Jack: Okay, it's not like both of us haven't made more than our fair share of mistakes. We've been given second chances. She doesn't deserve the same?

Kyle: Right, everyone deserves a second chance. I just think some people might take advantage of them.

Jack: Give your old man some credit, will you? I am not that easily taken advantage of. And do me one more favor.

Kyle: What's that?

Jack: Stop thinking the worst of sally.

Lauren: Are you okay? You seem nervous.

Sally: No, yeah, I was just racking my brain, trying to figure out what I did wrong, and I can't think of anything.

[ Laughs ]

Lauren: Because you're doing great! Oh, my goodness, this is not a reprimand.

Sally: Well, that is a relief. So, this is good news?

Lauren: It is.

Sally: Okay. Well, that is my favorite kind.

Lauren: It's mine, too. So, I thought that your marketing pitch was so top-notch. You know, there are some fun ideas in there that I think can be used on different levels.

Sally: Thank you.

Lauren: So I would like to give you more responsibility to fully utilize your talents.

Sally: Really?

Lauren: How does junior director of internet marketing sound?

Sally: It sounds like a promotion.

Lauren: It is. There was a position available, and I thought, "you know, why postpone the inevitable?" You are destined for bigger things.

Sally: Thank you. Really, that means so much to me.

Lauren: Well, you deserve it.

Sally: Okay, just to clarify, is this in addition to my duties as your assistant?

Lauren: Oh, no. This is a full-time gig. I'm gonna need a new assistant because you are gonna have your hands full.

Summer: Oh. Hands full with what? Introducing a revolution in the world of pain relief:

Gloria: Well, hello, stranger.

Michael: Gloria.

Gloria: Thanks for fitting me in, even if it isn't one of the higher-end establishments in town. I guess everybody's cutting back these days, huh?

Michael: Well, this was convenient for me because I'm meeting lauren here after she's done with some business inside. But I'm -- I'm happy to squeeze you in.

Gloria: Ha! So, I'm not just a cheap date. I'm a second fiddle. I'm an afterthought.

Michael: Why do you always have to make everything so... personal?

Gloria: [ Chuckles ]

Michael: Can you just accept that my job has been keeping me very, very busy?

Gloria: Nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah, now, let's not bicker, michael. We have more important things to discuss.

Michael: Like what?

Gloria: Why are you so opposed to me being happy and finding fulfillment?

Lauren: Go ahead. Tell her.

Summer: Yes, please. Tell me. I would love to know.

Sally: I have just been promoted.

Summer: To what, exactly?

Sally: I am the new junior director of internet marketing. Nothing to do with jcv. That is all yours.

Summer: Well, congratulations. Um, you know, I actually have some good news of my own to share.

Lauren: Oh. What's that?

Summer: Well, this comes from some of the contacts that I made while I was in L.A., Which, by the way, that trip paid off big time. I feel like I learned so much, and I made some very valuable connections while I was over there.

Lauren: Ah. So, what's the news?

Summer: Well, I've been in contact with spencer publications about increasing jcv's visibility in the marketplace, and they want to meet again.

Lauren: Well, I guess you're going back to california.

Summer: Actually, the meeting's gonna be happening here.

Lauren: The spencers are coming to genoa city? Even bill?

Summer: Yep. They are coming east. Isn't that great?

Lauren: Huh. Be nice to see bill after all these years.

Summer: Yeah, it'll be like a little reunion for you -- oh, and for sally and the spencers, right?

Sally: Yeah.

Lauren: Well, you know, with her new job, she probably won't even have time to see them.

Summer: Oh, come on. You got to make time. It's always great to see old friends. Right?

Adam: You know, it's just hard watching chelsea suffer. I mean, I had such high hopes for today, and then nothing.

Sharon: Yeah. Today was a big disappointment.

Adam: And, look, I don't mean to sound ungrateful. I really do appreciate everything that you've done, and I know that that could not have been easy for you to go at chelsea like that. It goes against your nature, being mean and vicious, so...

Sharon: Well, we discussed that there is therapeutic value in confrontation, so, you know, sometimes that's tough on the practitioner.

Adam: I really thought it was gonna work. I thought it was gonna push her into making progress. 'Cause I would do anything to help her. I just -- I honestly don't know what the next step is.

Sharon: Well, hey, this was just my first attempt, you know? Therapy, using these kinds of tactics -- it can take a while before it's effective.

Adam: Okay, but you just said it made you uncomfortable.

Sharon: Oh, gosh, I would do anything to help chelsea, like you would. So, you know, don't give up hope!

Adam: At this point, I don't think anything's gonna work, sharon.

Sharon: We're gonna get there. We just -- you have to stay positive.

Adam: Yeah, well, it's hard. Okay? It's been weeks. And she's in such anguish. And all of this is my fault.

Sharon: What happened to chelsea is nobody's fault.

Adam: You don't know. This -- I did this. I'm the reason she's in that chair. She's in that chair, sharon, because of something I did.

Sharon: You are not responsible for what happened to chelsea.

Adam: I am. Her stroke was a byproduct of a brain aneurysm that could have been caused by a head injury. Chelsea fell in a stalled elevator.

Sharon: And how are you to blame for that?

Adam: Because I'm the one that cut the power to the building, okay? I didn't know that that she was in there. I was just trying to keep billy occupied in his office so i could break into his hotel room.

Sharon: Okay, I'm not gonna try to justify any of that, but I still don't think that you should blame yourself, either.

Adam: Oh, I don't know. Maybe it's, uh, the ultimate penance for all the horrible things I've done in my life.

Sharon: Oh, adam, don't think that way. Come on. You didn't mean to hurt anyone. It was an accident.

Adam: Right, but one that was caused by me.

Sharon: Alright, I'm not gonna believe that chelsea's suffering -- or anybody else's -- is your penance. That's absurd. Don't even let your mind go down that path. Nothing good can come of it. Look, she's gonna need you in the right frame of mind in order to recover. And she will overcome this. Trust in that.

Adam: Thank you.

Sharon: Um...talk later?

[ Sighs ]

[ Door opens ]

[ Door closes ]

Adam: [ Sighs ] What do you need? You tired? You want to lay down? You hungry? You cold? Huh?

[ Breathes deeply ] I really wish I knew what you were thinking, chels. Am I right? Do you blame me for this? You hate my guts?

Chelsea: [ Thinking ] Do you want me to hate you? Would that make things easier? You would have the perfect excuse to fall into sharon's arms. Maybe it's where you belong. Maybe we've been fooling ourselves this whole time. Maybe I should give up. No, I can't give up because if i do, I'll lose my son.

Michael: Why on earth would i stand in the way of you finding happiness?

Gloria: That's what I want to know.

Michael: I want you to be happy 'cause then maybe you'd stay out of trouble.

Gloria: Okay! Then why are you opposing me getting a job at fenmore's?

Michael: I have nothing to do with hiring at fenmore'S. That's my wife. You're thinking of lauren.

Gloria: I know that.

Michael: Well, then talk to her. I have no influence. She is welcome to -- to hire you in whatever capacity she likes, but I can't imagine why she would want to bring you on board.

Gloria: And why wouldn't she?

Michael: Gloria, because you're a magnet for trouble. And who needs that in the workplace? This L.A. Fiasco -- it's the sort of thing that is... not uncommon when you're around.

Gloria: I told you I was protecting newman. I wasn't causing trouble. I stopped it.

Michael: Alright, alright, alright, I don't want to argue with you.

Gloria: Nor I with you, mikey, but you're being grossly unfair to your mother. Lauren and I are simpatico.

Michael: I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Gloria: All I want to do is support lauren and help her work flourish.

Michael: [ Chuckles ] Oh. You're serious. Gloria [Sighs] Playing well with others is not really your thing. I mean, do you remember how your stint working on the sales floor at the boutique went?

Gloria: That was jill's fault.

Michael: No, no, no, no, no. It just wasn't petty squabbles with the customers. You... you set the place on fire.

Gloria: 100 years ago. I'm a different person now, michael.

Michael: Well, we can talk about more recently. What about when you went around lauren's back and got jack to help you make a move on fenmore's?

Gloria: Yeah, I did that because I knew it would be good for everybody, and I was right. Lauren and jack have been working beautifully together for years.

Michael: Alright, alright, you know what? This conversation is moot because I have not stood in the way of any job offer because no job offer has been made.

Gloria: And that is where you are wrong because clearly lauren has offered me a job. You just need to remind her of that. So, if you give me your blessing, I will be back on my feet and out of your hair.

Lauren: What's going on?

Jack: Hi there.

Sally: Jack. Just the man I wanted to see.

Jack: Is that so? So, what can I do for you?

Sally: Well, you can let me thank you.

Jack: For what?

Sally: I just got a promotion -- junior director of internet marketing.

Jack: That is fantastic news. Congratulations.

Sally: Thank you. Thank you. I know it's not a big step, but it's something that I know I can excel at.

Jack: It is a very big step, and it happened in record time. But I don't know why you're thanking me. I had nothing to do with this.

Sally: Yes, you did. You helped me with my shipping problem, and if you hadn't, it would have been a disaster and there is no way that lauren would have given me this job.

Jack: You would have figured that out for yourself. You're a very resourceful woman. I just happened to be there.

Sally: Yeah, but that's just it. You're always there. I don't know. I wouldn't be surprised if you had more to do with this than you're letting on.

Jack: I promise you I didn'T. But I think it's great news. In fact, let me take you out to celebrate. Alright, I brought in ensure max protein...

"The young and the restless"

will continue.

Adam: [ Breathing deeply ] Come on. Hey. I have an idea. And it might be a game-changer.

Gloria: There she is, madam boss, and I am happy to report for duty.

Lauren: Oh, no.

Michael: Yes, indeedy. Gloria insists that you offered her a job.

Lauren: Oh, I don't recall that.

Gloria: The executive assistant position you were telling me about.

Lauren: Right, we discussed that, but no offer was made. I said I would think about it.

Gloria: Yeah, right, but now that I have michael's support, it's practically -- it feels like an offer, so I am here at your beck and call. We just need to work out a couple of details, like dental insurance, parking places, and vacation time.

Lauren: I never mentioned those. I didn'T.

Gloria: No, no, no, no, no, don't worry about it. All I need to know is -- when do I start?

Summer: God, I cannot believe that sally's already been promoted. Look, I'm trying to stay optimistic, but...

[ Scoffs ] I really hope that she is too busy just learning the ropes to cause me any problems, but it's annoying. I mean, she's only been at the company, like, what, 10 minutes maybe?

Kyle: What do you care? She's a junior associate director or something.

Summer: Well, because if lauren's already promoted her, that means that whatever game sally is playing is actually working.

Kyle: What if she's not playing a game at all? What if she's been an effective assistant and her boss recognized her talents?

Summer: Okay, right after i learned the goods on what she was up to in L.A.? That seems like quite a coincidence, no?

Kyle: I'm sure that's all it is. Sally was always over-qualified for the assistant position.

Summer: Yeah, exactly, which makes her taking the job in the first place even more suspicious.

Kyle: I just don't see the need to start anything.

Kyle: You're running jcv. Sally's buying ad space on the websites. Leave her be.

Summer: Okay, but you know what she's capable of, kyle.

Kyle: Sure, but I think your mom was right. Hanging on to to the information and letting sally know you could blow her out of the water at any moment should keep her in line.

Summer: Okay, you are the one who warned me about sally. You said that she was possibly even more unpredictable now than ever, so please tell me why, all of a sudden, you're on sally's side...again.

Sally: I mean, we could really open things up online. Like, I have 20 ideas for how we can increase our presence on social media.

Jack: I love this. I'm just so happy you're excited about your job.

Sally: I'm just thrilled that I get a chance to prove myself. I mean, I really feel like I'm on the right path. Moving to genoa city was the smartest move I ever made. I just...hope nothing ruins it. Sorry, I am talking way too much.

Jack: No, no, no, no. This is your congratulatory lunch.

Sally: Yeah, but I want to know more about you. I mean, there has got to be more to jack abbott than just a great smile and a well-cut suit.

Jack: I think we covered most of that territory the other night during the storm.

Sally: Yes. But there was one question that I wanted to ask and didn'T.

Jack: Why didn't you?

Sally: Never came up in conversation. Or -- I don't know -- maybe i was -- it was awkward. Or I was shy.

Jack: Okay, I'm intrigued now. What did you want to ask?

Sally: How is it that you are single?

Jack: Oh. That. Um...well, I guess you haven't been in town long enough to know my romantic history. It's filled with many ups and downs -- some would say too many ups and downs. Right now, I guess I'm in a down period.

Sally: But why is this a down time for you?

Jack: Life had other plans, I guess.

Sally: You just seem so mellow about it.

Jack: Look, I know how it works. Right now, as we speak, the love of my life could be waiting right around the corner.

Sally: Hey, don't say that too loud. You're gonna have every woman in genoa city lined up around that corner.

Jack: Thank you for the compliment. You know what? I have a great life. Stay in shape, get to run my family company, keep the legacy alive with my son by my side.

[ Cellphone pings ] Go ahead. Go ahead. Look. It could be more congratulations on your new position.

Sally: Thanks. You were right. My sister says she's proud of me.

[ Cellphone pings ] She doesn't give up.

Jack: It's alright. It's your big day.

Sally: [ Chuckles ]

Jack: Is everything alright?

Sally: [ Chuckles ]

Kyle: That's just not fair. You know I'm not on sally's side.

Summer: Well, it sounds like you are.

Kyle: I'm not. And what do you mean, "again"? I've had your back every step of the way.

Summer: Okay, then why are you suddenly advising me to hold back now?

Kyle: Okay, I may have been overly protective before. Like you said, you hold all the cards. If sally makes one wrong move, you can go to lauren and tell her everything she pulled in los angeles.

Summer: Yeah, I almost went to lauren when I heard that she already promoted sally.

Kyle: I understand the impulse, but why make things ugly for no reason? It sounds like sally got this new job because she earned it and not by scheming or pretending she was dying.

Summer: [ Sighs ]

Kyle: And it's still a low-level position, so it's no threat to you. Why not focus on jcv?

Summer: I would love to, kyle. I would. But there is just something about sally that sets off all of my alarm bells.

Kyle: I think our lives would be a lot more fun if we stop worrying about sally.

Summer: Well, if I didn't know any better, I'd think that she had already gotten to you.

Kyle: If she's gotten to anyone, it's my dad.

Summer: Yeah, I know. Tell me about it. I mean, I know that they've been spending a lot of time together recently.

Kyle: Yeah. Try an entire night.

Sally: Alright, this had better be good, bucko, 'cause i just had to unceremoniously ditch jack to be here.

Theo: Why were you with him?

Sally: Never mind. Just tell me what you have for me.

Theo: Okay, considering how you treated me before I left for paris, I was expecting a little more gratitude.

Sally: Fine. I am so, so thankful for you sharing this information with me. And your timing could not be more perfect because I just got a promotion.

Theo: Congrats. Uh, what's the new job?

Sally: Junior director of internet marketing.

Theo: Wow. I guess you really don't need my help after all. You've reached the top.

Sally: Alright, stop. It's a step in the right direction, okay? But I could use some insurance to make sure that summer and kyle don't derail my progress.

Theo: Do they have something on you?

Sally: They went to L.A. Awhile back and they met with everyone who knows everything about me and -- I don't have to tell you what they found out.

Theo: Yeah, that's a big deal. And you're gonna need something huge to counteract that information. Fortunately for you, that's exactly what I have.

Sally: Okay. So, can we skip the song and dance and just get to the part where you tell me what I want to hear?

Theo: Alright, yeah. Let me set the scene.

Sally: Oh, my god.

Theo: Two hot young players looking to expand their horizons from manhattan and spend some time in the hamptons --

Sally: Who are we talking about here?

Theo: Me and kyle.

Sally: Oh, okay. Already sounds like a work of fiction.

Theo: Okay. Continuing on. The two players enjoy and indulge in everything the beach community has to offer -- women, booze, parties, more women.

Sally: I am so impressed.

Theo: Everything was going great until kyle takes an interest in a specific woman... a specific older woman... a specific older married woman.

Sally: Okay. We're getting closer to something that I could use, but it still sounds pretty tame.

Theo: What if the woman was married to ashland locke?

Sally: Ashland locke? Like, the ruthless mogul lockeness monster? That guy?

Theo: The one and only.

Sally: [ Sighs ] Okay, that guy was in the gossip columns when I lived in new york all the time. He has a nasty reputation.

Theo: Mm-hmm.

Sally: Kyle slept with his wife? Wow. Must have had a death wish.

Theo: Or... he was really in love.

Adam: Hey, I'm sorry to rush over like this, but, um, I had an idea. I wanted to run it by you, and i didn't want to risk chelsea overhearing our conversation on the phone.

Sharon: Tell me.

Adam: What if I brought connor home from boarding school?

Sharon: Oh.

Adam: Okay, here's my thinking, okay? Chelsea loves her son so much. That might be the motivation that she needs to recover.

Sharon: Well, I understand your instinct. And, you know, maybe it would be helpful, from chelsea's perspective.

Adam: I think it will. I mean, she loves him so much. Right?

Sharon: You need to also consider what this would do to connor.

Adam: He would do anything to help his mom.

Sharon: Well, of course he would. But seeing his mom that incapacitated? That could be traumatic for him. And we both know how he reacted to that hostage situation at the hotel.

Adam: Yes, of course. His issues went on for months.

Sharon: This could be worse. It could bring back all those fears that he had about chelsea when he had finally just gotten past it. And...

Adam: And what?

Sharon: Well, we're both assuming that this might be helpful for chelsea, but seeing her son that traumatized -- that could backfire. You know, I've read about cases where being around loved ones, it was detrimental to the patient's progress, so... bringing connor back into town -- that could just send her into a downward spiral.

Adam: The thing is, sharon -- it is getting harder and harder to lie to him. Sooner or later, I'm gonna have to tell him the truth.

[ Footsteps approaching ]

Sharon: Look, I realize you want a quick solution. We all do. But this is gonna take some time.

Adam: She's been like this for weeks now, sharon. I'm worried if she doesn't improve soon, she never will.

Sharon: I think we just need to give it some more time, and then we'll reevaluate. But bringing connor home? It's risky.

Adam: Okay. Okay. Look, um... thank you for your advice. You know, I've had a tough time staying rational through all this, so I appreciate you calming me down.

Sharon: Anything you need, just ask.

Adam: Thank you... for not giving up.

[ Sighs ] I don't know what I would do without you.

Kyle: And dad didn't like the idea of her traveling in the storms, so he set up the guest room for her.

Summer: Wow. Oh, my god. I can just picture it now. "Oh, yeah, I'm from california. I am such a beach girl. So, what is this thing you have -- ice? Because we don't have any of it in malibu."

Kyle: [ Laughs ] Okay, but the roads were pretty treacherous that night.

Summer: Yeah, and I'm sure that she played it to the hilt, kyle, trying to get on jack's good side to make some kind of in-roads with you.

Kyle: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What?

Summer: Mm-hmm.

Kyle: There are no viable in-roads for her to make with me. She stayed at the house because it was too dangerous to travel, and not just for recently transplanted californians. Remember? We were stranded at jabot.

Summer: Yes, I do remember. It was quite memorable. We made the most out of it in our own way. But how much do you want to bet that sally made the most out of it in hers?

Sally: Okay, that's something. Kyle falls in love with some dangerous rich guy's wife. But...I don't know. I just don't know if it's enough to throw summer and kyle off of their game. I mean, it happened years ago, right, when they weren't even a couple?

Theo: Yes, almost four years ago.

Sally: Okay. So, why would summer care? Why would anyone?

Theo: Yeah. You're right. Why -- why would anyone care about the past dalliances of an heir to the abbott empire?

Sally: Didn't you once attempt to claim to be the heir to the mergeron empire, only to slink out of town in defeat?

Theo: You should be nicer to me.

Sally: Look, I like you, theo, but I really think you're milking this for more than it's worth.

Theo: Okay, I'm just enjoying the process. You know, I think your faith in me will be restored once you hear the rest of the story.

Sally: Then please go on.

Theo: Ashland locke never found out about the affair. Fortunately for kyle, he covered his tracks well.

Sally: Ah. Okay. I see. So, if ashland finds out that kyle is the hamptons homewrecker, he would destroy kyle.

Theo: Now you're starting to see the potential here, aren't you?

Sally: Okay. But if it is just your word against kyle, it's never gonna work 'cause, well, everyone's gonna believe him, and you said that he covered his tracks well.

Kyle: He did, but I just stumbled across some new information.

Sally: You have proof?

Theo: I do.

Sally: Okay. What? E-mails? Photos?

Theo: Try dna.

Sally: What?

Theo: Ashland jr. Actually, his name's harrison, and he's 3 years old.

Next week on

"the young and the restless"...

Rey: I am drawing a line in the sand. I don't want you to see adam again.

Amanda: I want your deepest, darkest secrets, the one that you're afraid I'll find out.

Elena: I just had a dream, and it sort of shook me up.

Nate: Was it about devon?
