Episode #11425 ~ Nick takes control, Phyllis makes a distress call, and Lily tries to make amends.

Previously on "the young and the restless"...

Lily: So, then, what's it gonna take for you to forgive me -- a year in jail, a decade, two decades?

Devon: I don't know how to answer that. Hilary is dead forever, so two decades for her life, for my child's life -- do you think that's fair?

Phyllis: How many times do i have to tell you billy and I are fine?

Summer: So, why'd you cheat on him, mom? There is no point in denying it. I know what you did, when you did it, and who you did it with. Someone is feeding you the wrong facts, so whatever it is you think you know... I can assure you the only man in my life is billy.

Summer: Yeah, maybe at the moment, but not that night.

Summer: I wasn't having an affair -- not that night or any other night, and the same goes for daytime.

Summer: I didn't say that you were having an affair.

Phyllis: I love billy with all of my heart. We have a commitment.

Summer: Well, then a pretty sad one if you're gonna jump in bed with someone else two minutes after you fight with him.

Phyllis: And billy is committed to me.

Summer: Yeah, because he doesn't know what I know.

Cane: Hey. Hey. It's me.

Lily: Hey.

Cane: Hey. I thought you might be hungry, so I brought you some lunch. It's pasta.

Lily: Uh, thank you. That was very thoughtful of you.

Cane: And I was thinking, since the kids are about to go back to school, we can maybe talk about their schedules.

Lily: Okay. Well, since we talked about that the other day, you want to tell me why you're really here?

Cane: Well, you haven't really returned my voicemails and text messages. I was kind of worried about you.

Lily: Oh, right. Uh... I just -- I have my phone on mute. I'm just really trying to focus on work.

Cane: If you're stressed, can I help you?

Lily: Cane, there's a lot to do before the judge sentences me, so if you really want to help, why don't you get your head out of the sand and start acting like this is real?

Nick: Hey.

Mariah: Hey.

Nick: I got us a table.

Mariah: No sharon?

Nick: She had to take off.

Mariah: Oh.

Nick: It's okay. You and I are overdue for a private chat.

Phyllis: You're obviously angry at me, or you wouldn't hurl that accusation.

Summer: Okay. So this is how you're gonna play it.

Phyllis: Meaning?

Summer: Like a martyr, passive-aggressive, victimized. Mom, you are way too strong and direct to pull that off, so just please stop.

Phyllis: Fine. Then I won't talk.

Summer: I mean just stop with this, too. Okay, it's me. Just be honest. I know the truth.

Phyllis: It was kyle, right?

Summer: At the time, he only knew the "what," not the "who."

Phyllis: That's when you figured it was jack. That's why you sent him to come over here that night. That's -- that's great. I'm thirsty. Are you?

Summer: Now I know it wasn't jack who you slept with. It was dad. I found out that dad and sharon had a night apart, and the morning after that night, kyle stopped by here because you weren't at work. It all clicked.

Phyllis: You ever thought about opening your own detective agency? You two would be a hoot.

Summer: You know, the thing is it just created more questions, like how you could justify doing this to billy when you claim to love him so much.

Summer: Yeah, I seriously want to know, mom. So, you were planning to continue on with billy as if this thing with dad just never happened, and you rationalize that how?

Phyllis: It wasn't like that. It was a one-off. I have felt very guilty about this.

Summer: Not guilty enough to tell billy about it.

Phyllis: That I was so distraught whether or not we were split up for good that i made that mistake? Why would I hurt him that way?

Summer: If I'm struggling with this classic "we were on a break" excuse, then I'm sure billy would be, too. And what makes it even worse is how hypocritical you're being about it.

Phyllis: What?!

Summer: You freaked out on billy and kicked him out all because he fell off the gambling wagon and didn't tell you about it. Ever since I came home, you have been hounding me about growing up and being responsible, but it turns out that you're the one who can't control yourself and act like an adult.

Phyllis: This behavior that you're talking about you will never see again! I mean it!

Summer: You do. I can see that.

Phyllis: [ Sighs ]

Summer: But, mom, you're a cheater.

Phyllis: [ Scoffs ]

Summer: It's just as much a part of you as the urge to gamble is for billy, except you don't risk piles of cash. You risk stability and happiness. And you betray every guy that you've been with every single time. You break their hearts, and you break your own. To hell with the collateral damage, right, mom? Let's just -- let's start from the beginning here. So, you marry dad, and then you sleep with ronan. Then you marry jack and decide that you want his brother, too. So then you have a fight with billy, lead jack on, and then sleep with dad, so we're back full circle. People ask me why I'm so screwed up. Look who my role model is.

Phyllis: You think I'm proud of that?!

Summer: It doesn't even matter because you have made so many promises that you can't keep. You know, why am I complaining, really, though? Because if it wasn't for this problem, I would never even be here. If you didn't get dad to cheat on sharon, then I would have never been born. So maybe I'm the real hypocrite in all this, mom.

Nick: Is that all you're gonna order? I mean, I'd like to give you a proper thank-you.

Mariah: What have I done?

Nick: For this wedding, what haven't you done? You have tried no bridesmaids' dresses. You've talked about cakes and flowers. Those are very fluffy things for you.

Mariah: I usually have a very low-fluff tolerance. But, no, I don't know. Being at hilary's wedding, it kind of changed my attitude about the whole thing. I am trying to own my maid of honor title for sharon and for you.

Nick: That's nice to have someone we can count on.

Mariah: As opposed to the fence-sitters on your side of the aisle?

Nick: [ Breathes deeply ] Like summer.

Mariah: She agreed to being a bridesmaid.

Nick: I know my proposing didn't make her issues with sharon disappear. But if she can't follow the sterling example set by the maid of honor, I am hoping you can cut her some slack.

Mariah: I will do whatever i can to make sure that nothing spoils your day.

Phyllis: You're disappointed in me. Whatever it is you want to know... sit down and I will tell you.

Summer: Do you still love dad?

Phyllis: Of course I do. He's your father. But we are friends. Nothing less. And nothing more.

Summer: Nothing more? Okay, they may be unresolved or repressed, but there are feelings there.

Phyllis: Nick and I were in weird places that night. We both thought that the relationships that we have worked so hard for were already too broken to be fixed.

Summer: Oh. So you just both said, "ah, the hell with it"?

Phyllis: No, no. The chemistry that we used to have just took over, I guess.

Summer: You obviously still have feelings way beyond friendship, then.

Phyllis: No, not with your father. No. No. It'S... complicated. Haven't you ever been drawn to an ex -- you know... felt the old physical magnetism? I mean, and, really, on every other level, you have moved on.

Summer: Once I'm done with someone, I'm done.

Phyllis: Are you done with me?

Summer: I didn't say that.

Phyllis: I think it's a fair question.

Summer: [ Sighs ]

Phyllis: Look, I-I can't really get you to understand, but... your father and I are very clear that this never should have happened and that we are very happy with our partners and our lives, and we vowed to move on. Two friends that made the same mistake. But here you are, smoking gun in hand, reloaded and aimed at us.

Summer: Because maybe you two can forget what happened, but i can'T. That's what makes it so difficult to stand by and watch dad convince himself that this time with sharon is the fairy-tale ending. And I already had my doubts about this marriage not ending in disaster, and now I already have proof that it will.

Phyllis: Sweetie... that's for them to work out.

Summer: Oh, and you and billy, too, right? You want me to let billy cling on to this bogus belief that you're devoted to him, and i just don't think that I can do that.

Phyllis: I know that you have a bond with billy, a certain loyalty that doesn't extend to me. But if you want to do what's best for him... you're gonna stay quiet about this.

Summer: It's also what's best for you. That'S...a lucky coincidence.

Phyllis: Billy and I almost split up over the gambling. It showed us how hard we were willing to fight to preserve what we achieved. And never mind me. Why would you torpedo through all of that -- devastate him so pointlessly?

Summer: The point would be to save him from more pain later, because the longer that you keep a secret and the more toxic it becomes and the more pain it inflicts when the truth finally comes out, and the truth always comes out.

Phyllis: Not every secret is the same. You can't say blanket statements like that.

Summer: Look at how you felt when you found out that billy and I were keeping things from you -- things that were much less major and explosive than you cheating with dad. So you asking me to bury this -- it's very convenient and a tad selfish, don't you think?

Phyllis: My opinion doesn't matter. It's what you think.

Summer: Well, I think that billy deserves to be told, and so does sharon. That way it's ll out in the open before people make decisions that they could regret.

Phyllis: Where are you going?

Summer: To jabot to talk to billy.

Phyllis: Summer, wait a minute. Wait a minute!

Gloria: [ Exhales sharply ]

Phyllis: I need to see billy. It's an emergency.

Gloria: I'm on an important call. Yes. Yes. I need you to authorize a return.

Summer: Well, I was here first, so you might want to get in line.

Gloria: Because my granddaughter doesn't like the color. Don't you have it in pink? Yes, I will hold.

Phyllis: I hate to pull you away from your urgent shopping, but I need to see billy.

Summer: And I do, too.

Phyllis: Well, I pull rank. Buzz billy now.

Gloria: Mr. Abbott is in back-to-back meetings and cannot be disturbed.

Summer: He's gonna be disturbed, all right.

Gloria: Ladies, I will forward your messages. Now, whichever one of you wants to get me a cappuccino with steamed almond milk today, their message gets priority. Hold on. No, no, no.

Summer: Hey!

Phyllis: Billy? Really? Where is he?

Gloria: Back-to-back meetings out of the office.

Phyllis: For how long?

Gloria: As long as he wants. He's the top banana.

Summer: Well, is he coming back here?

Gloria: Um...eventually. Probably.

Phyllis: I'll wait.

Summer: Fine. Then I will, too.

Gloria: Ladies, this is a private office, not a coin laundry.

[ Sighs ] So disrespectful.

Lily: I'm really sorry that i snapped at you earlier.

Cane: You don't have to apologize. It's okay.

Lily: I'm just trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy.

Cane: I think we both are.

Lily: It's just hard, because depending on how long my sentence is, my dad and devon might want to close the agency.

Cane: Do you really think they will?

Lily: I don't know. I don't know. So maybe if you can just talk to someone in the advertising department at chancellor and see if they can recommend alternate representation for my clients.

Cane: Okay.

Lily: You know, and that's the other thing, right? It's like the wife of the chancellor C.E.O. Is going to prison. I mean, that's gonna be headline news. So maybe, you know, you can prepare a press release just to get ahead of the negative publicity when they sentence me, right? And my dad can help you with that, you know? I mean, he's an expert with those things. So... wh-why -- why are you looking at me like that?

Cane: 'Cause I can't accept that you're gonna go to prison.

Lily: Okay, cane. We have to face the facts.

Cane: That's right, facts, not morbid speculation. Right now this may be your coping mechanism, but... I can't give up hope on you or the family. I just can't do it.

Phyllis: Well, we can't just sit here in silence... when there's so much at stake. I am talking about our relationship -- yours and mine. I really -- I don't get what happened to us. Why don't you tell me how we got on opposing sides, where the tension started? 'Cause it has been there since you came back. When you went to belize all of those months ago, we were so close. And I-I don't know why or how, but this profound shift happened. Something changed.

Summer: I did, mom. I changed. I was gone for a year and finally far enough away to get some perspective on who I am as a person, because when I left G.C., I was a hot mess. I was a naive, insecure victim who spent her whole life having things happen to her, usually bad. So I decided I'm gonna make things happen for me. I'm gonna take back some control and do what's best for me, and it doesn't matter if people have a problem with that. I don't care if anyone likes me as long as I like myself, and I do.

Phyllis: Well, good. I'm very happy you like you. I think there's a great appeal in that, you know? There's a freedom. There's a freedom when you don't give a damn what people think. And it's certainly worked out very well for me, you know? Until I realized that there was a catch later on -- that I did care what people i loved thought about me. That's what is so awful about all this -- is that I-I love you. You have given me more joy than I ever thought possible. You said it yourself -- I have never been anyone's role model. But I'll tell you what.

[ Voice breaking ] I'll tell you what. I have tried to give you the best life I could possibly give you -- better than mine.

Summer: [ Exhales deeply ]

Phyllis: [ Sighs ] But... I have been rough on you. And the only reason is because i had wanted every dream that i have ever had for you to come true, and I don't want you to ever doubt that I would fight to the death for you.

Summer: I don'T. I'm proud to have a kickass mom. You're the fiercest person that I know.

Phyllis: Thank you.

Summer: And that part of you was a good role model. But the older I got, the more intimidating that this whole package became. I mean, really, though, mom, how am I supposed to live up to this powerful, gorgeous woman?

Phyllis: I never wanted you to feel that.

Summer: And I did try to be like you. I didn't know if I was succeeding unless I was driving you crazy. Because admit it, mom. Seeing yourself in me is what makes you freak out.

Phyllis: Maybe you're right. Look, we can clash until hell freezes over, but I am... very proud to call you my daughter. And you have not heard enough of that, and that is my bad. And this is me reminding you that, uh... I want it to be better. I do. I want us to be better listeners, and I want us to support each other and remind each other that we are... a team. Can we please try to reset... and do this thing right?

Summer: Want one?

Phyllis: I'd like an answer.

Summer: What, for what you said earlier? Yeah, mom, it was great hearing you say that, and I would like to start over, but not by you asking me to lie while you keep up this denial.

Phyllis: Honey, what am i denying?

Summer: You just admitted you and billy -- there is something broken there.

Phyllis: Wow. Okay. I actually thought we got somewhere.

Summer: Translation -- you thought that you manipulated me enough to get what you want.

Phyllis: Seemed to me like we were having a mature conversation.

Summer: A conversation is two-sided. Your part might sound like, "summer, do what you think is right," not "do what's right for me because I said so."

[ Door opens ]

Gloria: Am I interrupting?

Phyllis: Yes.

Summer: No.

Gloria: Mr. Abbott texted me. He won't be back anytime soon, so staying here would be futile.

Summer: Oh, my schedule is wide open.

Gloria: Oh! I see you penciled in your own little cocktail hour. Resourceful.

Summer: Well, it sounds to me like you could use a stiff one yourself.

Gloria: Hmm. And you could use a time-out.

Summer: So, are you staying?

Phyllis: I need you to forgive me. I need you to let me show you that billy and I belong together. I cannot lose him.

Summer: Okay, mom. If you and billy can survive this, then you deserve to be together, and I will give the four of you my blessing -- you, dad, and your soulmates. So, you are leaving?

Phyllis: I need some air to think.

Phyllis: I am going, but i need a favor.

Gloria: [ Sighs ] Then I need a bribe.

Phyllis: A fabulous spa day on me. If you keep summer in there by any means necessary, if you hear that billy is free, call me. Not one word to summer.

Gloria: This really is some mother-daughter drama. Thank god I had sons.

Phyllis: Are we clear?

Gloria: [ Chuckles ] Yes. And it better be the ultimate luxury spa package, with take-home products.

Phyllis: You'll be pampered within an inch of your life.

Gloria: Yeah. You know, I'm confused, though. If it's so crucial to keep her here, why are you taking off?

Phyllis: I need backup.

Gloria: [ Chuckles ] Oh, god.

Lily: Michael said that he will do everything to get me a reduced sentence but I have to put my affairs in order.

Cane: I know that's what you're trying to do. I know.

Lily: It's just the scariest thing is thinking about not being a mom to my kids.

Cane: Hey. You'll always be their mom.

Lily: Yeah, but you're gonna be the one that's at home every day, doing both of our jobs. And I just -- I need you to... look out for some things for me, okay? Like how the twins get treated at school because their mom is in prison. And just make sure that mattie doesn't worry too much about her college applications and that charlie can... channel his stress into sports, you know, but... still make him talk about things, okay?

Cane: Mm.

Lily: And sam -- I mean... his first step, his first word, his first... day of preschool -- just record everything for me.

[ Voice breaking ] Just tell them every day how proud I am of them, and have them visit me often, okay, if the prison isn't too far?

Cane: Don't give up hope, okay? All right? We don't know how this is gonna go. We don't know what the outcome is gonna be.

Lily: [ Crying ] Yeah, but we have to prepare. We have to because it's coming.

[ Sighs ]

[ Door opens ]

Mariah: I'm the maid of honor. It's kind of law.

Nick: It's a bridal shower, and it's you hosting it.

Mariah: Okay. It's not that complicated, and i thought that I would inject my own style into it.

Nick: Yeah, like the "bride of frankenstein" theme?

Mariah: How bad would that really be?

Nick: I'd be frankenstein, so no.

Mariah: I can pull this off. I promise.

Nick: Okay. We'll see. Hey.

Mariah: Hi.

Phyllis: Do you mind if i grab a word with nick?

Mariah: Uh, no. We're done here. I will see you at home?

Nick: Yeah, sure. See you.

Phyllis: See you.

Nick: Please. What's up?

Phyllis: Summer knows.

Nick: Summer knows what? She knows our secret?

Phyllis: Yeah. I'm afraid it's not gonna stay one much longer.

"The young and the restless"

will continue.

Lily: I only came in today 'cause I thought you were working from home.

Devon: Just need to take care of a few things here, so if you both don't mind...

[ Cellphone rings ] This is devon. Yeah. We bought his entire catalog.

Cane: I don't want to leave you alone. I know how he treated you last time you were face to face.

Lily: I have to just try to talk to him one on one.

Cane: Okay. Well, it's up to you. I love you, babe.

Lily: Love you.

Cane: [ Sighs heavily ]

Nick: What is summer thinking? I saw her earlier when I was with sharon. She kept making all these thinly veiled comments about marriage and commitment, and now I know why.

Phyllis: She's more upset than I ever dreamed she would be. She thinks it's unthinkable that we should ask her to live with our lies.

Nick: When did our daughter develop this finely tuned moral compass?

Phyllis: It doesn't seem too moral to me to try to sabotage her father's wedding, even if she isn't thrilled about having sharon as a stepmom again.

Nick: What is up with her having to race off to billy and tell him before you do? I mean, what is that? There's something going on with her.

Phyllis: What if she's not working through a big parental issue... and the bigger issue has nothing to do with you or me?

Nick: How?

Phyllis: Forget it. It's -- it's a big stretch.

Nick: Well, do I get a vote in this? Because right now we need to consider everything.

Phyllis: It's just -- it's nutty, all right?

Nick: Okay.

Phyllis: It's ridiculous.

[ Sighs ] Since she came to town... she's gotten very close to billy. What if she wants him... for herself?

Nick: Like, she wants to break you two up so she can have him?

Phyllis: Insane, I know.

Nick: No. No, no, no. That is not -- no.

Phyllis: All right. We don't have to dwell on that.

Nick: No, let's -- let's -- let's move on.

Phyllis: We need to. You know, when I saw her at jabot, I'm not completely sold that she's ready to wreak wholesale destruction. I think that she may -- may be open to changing her mind... for you, I mean.

Nick: I'll talk to her. I'll get her to change her mind. I mean, I have to. The alternative is not something we can even consider.

Phyllis: Good luck.

Nick: Hello, gloria.

Gloria: Oh.

Nick: I'm here to see summer.

Gloria: Of course you are. Did you know that she works at fenmore's? I'm not sure that summer's aware of that. I, on the other hand -- I work for jabot. I am executive assistant to the C.E.O., So I couldn't be her gatekeeper and personal secretary, even if she were entitled to one. But here I am, functioning as both.

Nick: Yes. Well, I think it is so patient and commendable of you to indulge my family this way, and I am sure you've put in a long day. Why don't you... go home early and have some fun somewhere?

Gloria: That's not going to happen. I promised her mother I'd keep an eye on her, so I feel obligated.

Nick: Is that because of the spa day you're gonna be getting in return? Yeah. I heard about that. I'm the backup phyllis was talking about, and I will handle it from here, so, you know, take the rest of the day off -- you know, enjoy the rest of your evening.

Gloria: I'm just not comfortable with that. Especially since it's such an intimate friend of my boss.

Nick: Well, I bet you'll be even more comfortable with your entire spa weekend, compliments of me and phyllis.

Gloria: [ Chuckles ] I am starting to relax already. In fact, I feel like I'm already bathing in that hot imported mud reserved for the premiere guests who book the top-of-the-range deluxe spa.

Nick: Of course.

Gloria: She's all yours. Toodle-oo, nick.

Nick: [ Breathes deeply ]

Nick: Hey.

Summer: Hi. I would ask what you're doing here if mom wasn't so obvious.

Nick: Well, lucky for me and you, she did tell me. Because if billy had walked in this room like you were hoping, you could have started a chain of events that destroyed five people's lives... including your own.

Summer: I don't like it that I made you come down her from work to handle this, and I know you must be thinking, "where does she get off threatening people, especially her own parents," so I get that you are furious with me.

Nick: I'm not, all right? I'm not. I'm not even angry. But, summer, I am freaked out that you didn't feel like this was something you could come to me with before you made some extreme decisions about something that can't be undone or taken back. But I'm here now, and we're gonna talk about it. We're gonna clear up any misunderstandings that there may be... so that something doesn't come up between us... that ruins what we have, because, summer, that would kill me.

Summer: Yeah. It would kill me, too.

Nick: But we need to be completely honest with each other. I want to know what you feel and for us to be clear about what happened with your mom and me and to go over the implications for billy and sharon because they are completely blameless in this, but they stand to lose the most.

Summer: I already know what happened from mom. I got the story in depth, so i know it all.

Nick: You don't know my side of the story, so you don't know it all. Are you willing to listen?

[ Footsteps approach ]

Lily: It's the way you like it.

Devon: Okay.

Lily: Uh, I e-mailed you the financial report for the modeling agency.

Devon: I saw it. It looks good. I'm just trying to take care of the essentials so I can get out of here.

Lily: Well, I-I don't want to keep you. I just wanted to say a few things. My -- my sentencing hearing is coming close, and I'm just trying to get everything in order with cane and the kids, everything here. So, if you and dad want to take over the agency, I'll have it all set up, or if you think it's best to drop it and close the doors, then I understand. It's -- it's your call.

Devon: Why do you want to go through all that right now?

Lily: I'm not trying to have a pity party. It's just that... you're my brother, and no matter how upset you are with me, i know that you care about my family. And with this huge change coming up, you know, the kids are gonna need all the support they can get -- your support.

Devon: I understand that. I see your point.

Lily: So, that -- that's it? You're -- you're leaving?

Devon: Well, I told you I was gonna leave.

Lily: Well, I-I-I don't know. I just -- I thought we could talk more 'cause you seem like you're in a better frame of mind today.

Devon: Why would you think that? I didn't snap at you and kick you out of the office? Because I took the coffee that you brought me? I'm too exhausted to be angry. That's why.

Lily: Devon, please don't go. Okay? I-I miss you so much.

Nick: Look, it's important that you know how much your mother and I regret what happened that night... how much we wish we could go back and live it over and not let it happen. But, obviously, we can't do that, so we're doing the best we can to just try and move forward.

Summer: What, just brush it aside like it's some minor mistake, like it's that simple?

Nick: It's not -- it's not like that. I'm not saying it's simple. It's certainly not a minor mistake. It was a massive error in judgment, and that is on us.

Summer: But you still want a free pass, right?

Nick: I'm not asking for that, either. I'm sure you were thinking I was gonna be furious with you. Summer, it should be the other way around. You should be furious with your mom and me. That we get. What we don't understand is your trying to use this against us.

Summer: That's not what i want.

Nick: Well, how else are we supposed to take it? You said you want me to be happy. That means marrying sharon. If she finds out what I did, and with phyllis, of all people, with their history, she is not gonna be able to get past that, and that will break my heart. And I won't be able to get over that.

Summer: I think you could.

Nick: What happened with your mom and me that night was because I came home and I found sharon's engagement ring on the desk. I thought things were over, and I couldn't handle it -- not alone. The next morning, I realized what a terrible mistake we had made. I would do anything to get sharon back because I need her. She is my future.

Summer: You make it sound like you and sharon have this fairy-tale romance, but if that were true, then --

Nick: So what? I can't make a mistake?

Summer: No, not this mistake. Not with mom. 'Cause if you and mom had these perfect, epic relationships that you guys claim to have, then you guys wouldn't have hooked up with each other. You wouldn't be reaching back into the past because there would be nothing to reach for. If that spark between you guys wasn't there, then none of this would have happened, but it was, and it is, whether you want to admit it to yourself or not, and it means that you guys should not be leading billy and sharon on anymore.

Nick: So, that's it? That's your final decision and there's no going back? Summer, what do you think this is gonna do to your little sister? Faith has wanted her parents back together forever. How do you think it's gonna make her feel if she finds out that you took it away from her?

Summer: The same way that she'll feel if you marry sharon, only she won't have to wait, what, a few months, two years, however long it's gonna take for you guys to mess up and get divorced again, because the longer that you keep up the charade, the worse it is, dad, for everybody.

Nick: I was really hoping that I could show up here and just be honest with you and you'd understand. I could appeal to you as a loving daughter, but, obviously, we don't have the kind of relationship that we used to have, where we could love and support each other no matter what, flaws and all, but I guess that's gone. So maybe there's only one thing that you will listen to now.

Summer: What are you doing?

Nick: Maybe this will be enough to persuade you... to keep what you know... a secret.
