Episode # 11272 ~ Ashley receives a prestigious honor; Victoria lashes out at Hilary; Juliet moves in on Cane.

Provided By Suzanne

Ashley: I just remember how happy dad was when he got that.

Jack: One of the highlights of his career. Here, you hold it. See if you can bring back some of that magic.

Ashley: [ Chuckles ] Oh. I don't know about that. Aw, daddy. Ah. I remember his face when he got this, just... ear-to-ear smile. Why are we talking about this?

Jack: Well, I guess i couldn't wait to see the look on your face... when you held one of your own. I just got the call. You won. Innovator of the year. Your name and dad's are linked together with this honor forever.

Victoria: And then I'd like to re-run some tests on that eyeliner we were discussing. Uh, that's all for now. Let's put a double rush on this one.

Billy: You might want to tell them not to bother.

Victoria: What are you talking about? The product's almost ready for launch.

Billy: Yeah, well, don't start the countdown yet. After everything we've done to beat jack, it could be all for nothing.

Neil: Wow. Divorce.

Lily: Yeah.

Neil: I am so sad for you, sweetheart. I really am. I mean, not about your decision, but... do the kids know?

Lily: Uh, cane and I told them last night.

Neil: Man, that must have been a tough one.

Lily: I mean, it's all been tough, you know? The baby, the lies... it's unfair to them.

Neil: Yeah, it's been unfair to you, too.

Lily: Well, as much as we've all been hurting, I'm just glad the decision's been made. You know, at least the kids know what's gonna happen, and no one's in limbo anymore.

Neil: Mm-hmm. You know, when you're a kid, stability is everything. Knowing that you can count on your family for anything.

Lily: Not just when you're a kid.

Neil: Oh. Come here.

Hilary: And you're just gonna sit back, let her do this? You're not gonna fight for your marriage?

Cane: I did fight for my marriage, for months. And before that, I did my best to destroy it. I lied and I cheated, and now I'm gonna be a father to a child, and lily's not even the mother, so how are we meant to survive that?

Hilary: And that's the kind of losing attitude that made all of this inevitable. Turns out you're just a quitter.

Cane: All right. Okay.

Hilary: You look me in the eye, and you tell me that you are ready to walk away from your family. Can you?

Victoria: [ Sighs ] So what happened to billy the cheerleader? The guy that was so excited about beating jack at his own game?

Billy: What happened? This is what happened. Go ahead, read 'em and weep.

Victoria: What is this?

Billy: Our head hunter just sent those over. They're the latest résumés for the executive position we're looking for.

Victoria: Oh, my gosh. These people have even less experience than the first group of people that we interviewed.

Billy: Yes. It's depressing. It's so bad, I feel like jack is snapping up everybody just so they don't work for us.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] And he knows how strapped we are.

Billy: Vick, if we don't find somebody to fill this position, like, asap, it's gonna start affecting things around here.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] I can't believe I'm saying this, but that whole mess that happened in L.A... if it didn't happen, and cane and juliet were still here, things would be looking a whole lot different right now.

Billy: Hold on a second --

Victoria: Okay. No, no, no. Don't panic. I'm -- I'm not changing gears. I know that bringing cane back here would be a huge mistake. I know that.

Billy: Good. That's all I need to hear about that.

Victoria: But, I mean, despite his errors, he was good at his job, for the most part.

Billy: Okay, can we just let that one go, please?

Victoria: All right, look. Until we find somebody good, you and I are running this thing, so we have to stay positive. No waving the white flag. I mean, especially since we've come this far together.

Billy: You're right. Okay. Sorry about my moment of doom and gloom. I'm all-in on this. Especially right now, with jack stepping back on the men's market. That gives us an opportunity we need to take advantage of. But we still need to find somebody that we can count on for this position.

Victoria: Well, we have the money that neil gave us, so we'll find someone. We have to.

Jack: Get used to the feel of that thing. You're gonna have one of your own pretty soon. Do you know, the head of the committee that gave out the award this year said you were a unanimous choice.

Ashley: I don't deserve this.

Jack: Oh, stop that. Humility is overrated.

[ Ashley laughs ] Your contributions have been too numerous to mention. You started jabotgo, you dug through that haystack and found the needle that is parker beauty. Of course you deserve it. And this is coming from someone who's wanted one of these babies for himself for a very long time.

[ Ashley laughs ] Revel in it.

Ashley: You are full of flattery today.

Jack: I'm a very proud brother. You know who would be most proud, though? Dad.

Ashley: Dad.

Myrna: Let's not underestimate dina. She's a destroyer. When she took up with brent again, she didn't care that brent and I were together. When brent left us behind, he -- he probably thought that he would end up with dina.

[ Scoffs ] But dina never thought the same way he did. He was looking for some better life. She already had one. And she wasn't sharing.

Graham: Considering what I've observed in ashley since coming to genoa city, her anger toward dina makes more and more sense. Imagine finding out your father wasn't the great john abbott. That must have hurt.

Myrna: Don't get soft, graham. Not when we're so close to paying that bitch dina back for what she did to us.

Graham: Oh, I assure you, I won'T.

Myrna: You need to get those kids to turn against her.

[ Knock on door ]

Dina: Graham?

Graham: Ah, I need to go.

Dina: I heard you talking to someone. Who was it? Graham?

Graham: It's my aunt in florida. The -- the one I told you about earlier. All this talk about her, I thought I'd check in. See if she needed anything.

Dina: And did she?

Graham: Nothing I couldn't easily handle. So, what can I do for you?

Dina: Well, I just stopped by to let you know I'm on my way to jabot.

Graham: Why would you do that? You're just going to encounter jack, who's gonna pick up right where nikki left off.

Dina: Yes, I know. But a part of me wishes that you hadn't taken it upon yourself to hire that photographer.

Graham: I-I thought i explained myself to you.

Dina: Jack is messing up his life by taking up with victor's wife, but after seeing the two of them, you know, I've been doing a lot of thinking.

Graham: And?

Dina: Well, maybe I shouldn't be the one to -- to judge him, considering all of my mistakes.

Graham: Oh. Your marriage to john?

Dina: And what I did to ashley. That's why I'm going over to that office. That's why I came to genoa city -- to repair my relationship with my family. And not run away from it.

Graham: I understand. May I drive you?

Dina: No, no, no. I've, uh, ordered a car.

Graham: Good luck.

Dina: Thank you.

Ashley: Well, I guess we should put this back in its place of honor.

Jack: Well, I'm gonna move it over a few inches to make room for yours.

[ Ashley laughs ] Which should arrive any day now. I hope you don't think it's too presumptuous of me, but I have begun to prepare a party to celebrate your achievement.

Ashley: No, you don't have to do that.

Jack: Of course I have to do that. Traci's already agreed to come.

Ashley: Really?

Jack: I'm gonna invite abby and dina and anyone else you want me to invite.

Ashley: That's so sweet of you. And I'm not gonna fight you on it. I have one quick question, though. I heard your list of names for the guest list, and you left -- you left out our brother.

Jack: The one who hacked into our server?

Ashley: I'm aware of that, jack.

Jack: The one who's downloading proprietary information for another company? That brother?

Ashley: Jack, I'm not gonna say you're wrong for setting billy up by planting fake files for him to find, okay? He crossed a line. I am gonna say, though, that if you leave him off that guest list, he's gonna wonder what you're hiding. Because in fact you are hiding something.

Jack: You know, you may have a point there. Maybe you should wander down and invite him.

Ashley: Oh, come on.

Jack: That way you can sniff around and see if he took the bait that I left there. We know he's logged on again using phyllis' computer, but we don't know that he's gonna act on it yet.

Ashley: You think he's gonna tell me?

Jack: Well, I'd like to think that you could find that out one way or the other. What do you say? Up to a little subterfuge?

Ashley: [ Sighs ] Oh, god. Well, I guess I wouldn't be innovator of the year if I wasn'T.

Lily: These last few months have been a challenge. I know the next few will be, too, but I just hope that the kids can find a way to forgive cane and rebuild their relationship with him. You know, it's what's best for them.

Neil: I hear you. I'm not surprised how selfless you're being. You know, you've always been that way. You've always put your family first. You've been carrying around this heavy burden for a long, long time. And obviously I want what's best for charlie and mattie. If it's gonna be hard for cane to gain their trust back, I really don't care. I don't have much sympathy for him. He put you in a corner, lily. He used your devotion to family to drag this whole thing out.

Lily: Well, he doesn't want to just lose his family. I'm sure you can understand that.

Neil: Yeah, okay. I get it. You are... you're as strong as anyone that I know. And you will get through this.

Lily: Thank you. I just -- I have to keep busy. You know, that's the best medicine.

Neil: Well, there's me, and I'll help you fill those hours. And then there's your brother.

Lily: No, I mean, obviously time with family is great, but work is my priority. You know, I have bills to pay. It doesn't go away when you get divorced. If anything, there's more of them.

Neil: Yeah. Yeah, speaking of work, are you working more doing modeling at brash & sassy or...?

Lily: Uh... it's fallen off a little bit. Although jordan and I, we had a couple photo shoots since they re-ignited the dare campaign.

Neil: Right. Jordan. He's a good friend, isn't he?

Lily: Yeah. He's been someone that I can count on. A lot.

Cane: I don't want to hear what you think. All I want is what lily wants. And, yes, I could fight this divorce, but if I do that, all I'm gonna do is cause her and the kids more pain. Besides, who are you, anyway? You're not some noted expert on long-term relationships.

Hilary: True. My own marriage fell apart a while back. But every union is different. And it wasn't that long ago that you thought that counseling was the answer. What happened to that guy? He had hope.

[ Sighs ] What you need now, you need to remind lily about what the two of you once had. Just romance her. Take her on a trip. Away from genoa city. Just the two of you. No distractions.

Cane: Oh, okay. And by distractions, you mean jordan, right? But we've already had this conversation. 'Cause you don't care about putting my marriage back together. All you want to do is keep him away from lily, 'cause you can't stand the idea that he would choose her over you.

Hilary: I don't care about jordan.

Cane: All right. Okay.

Hilary: Okay? Or lily. I care about you and your kids.

Cane: Oh, give me a break, okay? If you were half as concerned as you're making out you are, you would know that what I'm doing is right. 'Cause for months now, all I've done is make one mistake after another. And today is the first time i finally have a chance to do something right and put somebody else first instead of myself.

Billy: It's a shame that it had to go down this way.

Victoria: I feel awful for lily. Watching this play out, it's been like a car crash in slow motion.

Neil: Totally agree. With lots of collateral damage, you know? I mean, lily, she's been brave about this from the very beginning. She always, always puts those kids first, ahead of her own needs. Which is actually, uh -- it's why I'm here, you know? I got to...

Victoria: Okay.

Ashley: Hey, everyone.

Victoria: Hey.

Ashley: I'm sorry, am i interrupting?

Victoria: No, come in. Come in. Um... we'll go in the conference room and let you catch up.

Neil: Sure. Hi, ashley.

Ashley: Hi.

Neil: Hi. Good to see you.

Ashley: You too.

Billy: [ Sighs ]

Ashley: Is neil okay?

Billy: It's lily. You know. Tough situation. What brings you down?

Ashley: Uh, business, sort of.

Billy: Mm.

Ashley: Looks like your team is pretty busy, huh?

Billy: Well, we got to keep up with the joneses up in the penthouse suite, you know?

Ashley: Mm-hmm.

Billy: [ Sighs ]

Ashley: So, um... anything exciting in the pipeline?

Billy: You first.

Ashley: Touché.

[ Billy chuckles ] Um, my business is not top-secret, though. You're gonna read about it in the trades pretty soon. I won the innovator of the year award.

[ Laughs ] Yeah.

Billy: Ashley!

Ashley: Yeah. And jack is, um, having a party for me, and I want you to come.

Billy: Well, congratulations!

Ashley: Thank you.

Billy: I mean, that's -- that's amazing.

Ashley: Thanks.

Billy: Uh, dad won that award, too, didn't he?

Ashley: Mm-hmm.

Billy: Does jack know you're inviting me?

Ashley: You don't think he'd want you to come?

Billy: Why would he? I mean, we've been at war with each other for a while now. And with you being up there with jack at jabot, that kind of puts you in the middle. That's not what I want. I'm sorry about that.

Ashley: Well, anyway, could you come to the party? I mean, can't we put the competition away just for one night? You know, traci's flying in, and, you know, you are family.

Billy: I'm glad somebody thinks so.

Ashley: Will you come? For me?

Billy: Yeah, of course. I would be honored. I'm proud of you. And I'll do everything I can to leave my baggage behind and not ruin your moment. And I'll make the time even though we're crazy busy around here, and about to get crazier.

Ashley: Oh, yeah? Why is that?

Billy: [ Chuckles ] Family time's over, okay? You're gonna have to wait to be surprised with everybody else.

Ashley: Mm. Love a surprise.

Neil: Hey, thanks.

Victoria: There you go.

Neil: You know, for the record, lily, she doesn't know that I've come here. And, victoria, I'd appreciate it if we keep it that way.

Victoria: Yeah, that's not a problem.

Neil: Okay, good. Uh, we were talking about some things, and I got the sense that she's worried about her future. You know, I'm pretty sure that cane, he will fulfill his obligations. But as well you know, divorce can be very expensive, even -- even the friendly ones.

Victoria: Yes, I do know that well. I'm sure that lily feels like she's under a lot of pressure, trying to set an example for charlie and mattie, and show them that she can provide for them.

Neil: Mm-hmm. You know, she's trying to branch out. Do some acting. It hasn't really worked out for her. And she mentioned that she's been doing far less modeling here at brash & sassy.

Victoria: Well, yes. I know. [ Sighs ] As you know, we've been trying to make every dollar count, which has led to some very tough choices.

Neil: I promise you that I'm not trying to pressure you because I gave you that loan. I'm just wondering, victoria, if you could help her just a little bit more. That would help out.

Victoria: [ Sighs ] You know, we've already been spending so much money on advertising. Almost too much, given where we need to be spending it. Including finding a new executive.

[ Sighs ] Hell, at this point, it would make just as much sense just to --

Neil: What? What, what, what, what?

Victoria: Billy! Billy, get in here! Come!

Billy: What's up?

Victoria: This is a little out of the box, but I think it just might be the best idea I've had all day.

Juliet: Hi, charlie.

Charlie: Hey.

Juliet: I used to see you quite a bit around here. Now we hardly bump into each other at all.

Charlie: Well, summer job's over. School started.

Juliet: Ah. Right. So what brings you by today?

Charlie: I'm just saying hey to someone I used to work with.

Juliet: Mm. Baby's growing a lot now. He's kicking up a storm.

Charlie: "He"?

Juliet: It's a boy. I'm surprised your dad didn't mention it.

Charlie: He doesn't talk about you much.

Juliet: He talks about you. I know you guys had a nice dinner a while back.

Charlie: It was all right. I doubt it'll happen again, though.

Juliet: Why not?

Charlie: I'm surprised you haven't heard. My parents are getting a divorce. Don't act surprised. It's your fault my mom decided she couldn't be around him.

Juliet: Honestly, I'm sorry you feel that way, charlie. But to tell the truth, it's a little more complicated than that.

Charlie: Was it complicated when you and my dad had sex? Or was that simple?

Juliet: You can hate me... but please don't hate this baby.

Cane: All right, look. I'm done debating this with you, okay? Juliet is pregnant. I'm gonna have a child. And there's two kids at home that now have to come to terms with this new reality.

Hilary: And while I know you don't want to hear this because it sounds self-serving, but you are leaving the door wide open for jordan. Just forget about what I want. You cannot want lily to end up with him.

Cane: Okay. Well, maybe that's what jordan wants, but let's not assume that's what lily wants.

Hilary: I know exactly what lily wants, because I've been there. Okay? She may act all like she's taking the high road, okay, but she wants you to suffer. And if hooking up with jordan is gonna accomplish that, well, then, that's exactly what she is going to do.

Cane: Well, if that's what you think, then you don't know her at all.

Hilary: Okay. Sure. You just keep telling yourself that.

"The young and the restless"

will continue.

Jack: An apology?

Dina: Yes. And I mean that sincerely.

Jack: And what exactly are you apologizing for? Did you suddenly realize you were wrong to send those prurient photos to victor?

Dina: Oh, they were not prurient. I found them romantically suggestive.

Jack: Whatever. They were wrong. Or are you just disappointed with the fallout?

Dina: [ Sighs ] The truth is, I want what's best for you. And we are still family, and that's what's most important. To heal, and move forward together.

Jack: I want that too, mother.

Dina: Oh, good. It's going to be harder, though, to set ashley straight because of graham. She believes that he lied to her about his mother being alive.

Jack: Yes, I know about that. Do you think he's not lying?

Dina: Well, we've talked about it, and we've sorted it all out.

Jack: And?

Dina: Well, ashley's confused. It's an aunt who lives in florida, and graham's been seeing to her needs. There was no lie.

Jack: You seem awfully convinced of that.

Dina: What, you don't believe me?

Jack: You know what, I think ashley is gonna be the harder sell. And I know just when you can do that.

Dina: Oh, good. When?

Jack: Ashley just won a very prestigious award. I am throwing a little party in her honor.

Dina: Oh, how wonderful. Well, what's the name of the award?

Jack: Innovator of the year. From the cosmetics industry.

Dina: Oh.

Jack: Apt, don't you think?

Dina: [ Chuckles ]

Jack: W-wait, you don't know, do you? Dad won that award back in the day. That means two people from this family have won.

Dina: Well, I-I-I -- I guess I -- I'd forgotten that john had won it. But ashley and her father are alike in so many ways.

Jack: Yes, it turns out nurture was more significant in ashley's life than nature. How about that?

Jordan: Is that the latest fall fashion?

Hilary: Gym chic. I was hoping to start a new trend. I'm surprised to see you here at this hour.

Jordan: Ah, my work schedule's a little light these days. That's why I had to grab an out-of-town gig.

Hilary: Oh. So... you haven't been working with lily?

Jordan: [ Sighs ] No. But I saw her last night. I take it you've heard the news?

Hilary: Yeah. The divorce. I'm shocked that she pulled the trigger. I always assumed that it was family first with her.

Jordan: Well, maybe that's how she sees this.

Lily: As opposed to what? Freeing herself up for other possibilities?

Jordan: Look, lily's far, far away from getting involved with anyone right now, all right?

Hilary: And you're content to wait around until she decides?

Jordan: Who says that I'm waiting?

Hilary: Oh, I'm glad to know that you're not pining away for a woman who may never see you as anything more than a friend.

Jordan: Hey, I'm down with a friendship.

Hilary: Sure. I get that. But there are friends... and then... there are friends. Some more beneficial than others.

Billy: Sorry victoria's not here. She had someplace to be and asked me to handle things.

Lily: Yeah, that's fine. You were, uh, really vague over the phone. Is everything okay?

Billy: Yeah. Absolutely. Um... but first things first. We both want to tell you that we're very sorry to hear about your divorce. It's a tough situation.

Lily: Thank you. Yeah, telling the kids was probably the hardest thing I've done. But cane was there, so that helped, but still.

Billy: Well, I'm sure you've got a lot going on, so I'll cut to the chase. Things are about to get a lot busier around here. Victoria and I are working on an aggressive strategy to take advantage of the unique time in the marketplace.

Lily: Okay. Well, yeah. If that means more time in the studio, then I'm in.

Billy: Well, I'm glad to hear that, but we're hoping to get a little bit more out of you.

Lily: Okay...

Billy: We both feel that we, uh... well, we think we want to bring you on full time. As an executive here for the company.

Lily: Wha...?

Billy: We need somebody with management skills, somebody that knows the company and the products, and somebody that we trust that can run with a project when need be. And we both feel like that could be you.

Lily: Me? You -- you want me to take juliet's job?

[ Knock on door ]

Cane: Hey, it's, uh -- it's me. I got your text.

Juliet: That's fine. Thank you.

Cane: Hey. You all right?

Juliet: I'm fine. Yeah.

Cane: Okay. Yeah, I was just -- I was concerned, you know, 'cause, uh, it was only a few days ago you were in the hospital.

Juliet: You don't have to worry about me. I am worried about you.

[ Cane scoffs ] I ran into charlie. He told me about the divorce. I'm so sorry.

Cane: Look, I don't need any sympathy, okay? I've already hashed this out with hilary and, look... look, truth is, there's nothing more that I want to do than put my family back together. But lily's made her decision, and I, uh... I can't change her mind, 'cause, uh... well. We both -- we both know why.

Dina: Well, jack and i had our talk.

Graham: How'd that go?

Dina: Well, I think we came to a good understanding.

Graham: Look, I'm so very sorry for my part in making him angry with you. He was always your favorite, wasn't he?

Dina: Oh. Well, I had a different kind of relationship with jack than i did with the other children. We had a closeness that -- that he depended on, and that i betrayed by leaving. And it hurt him. He's damaged to this day.

Graham: Please don't think I'm prying unnecessarily. Sometimes it's good to get these things out. I just want you to know that you never have to hold back if you ever want to discuss your children.

Dina: Oh, nonsense. I trust you with practically everything. You know that. And it really felt good that i could talk to you about my difficult past with ashley.

Graham: Yeah. That must have been hard, to carry that around for so long as you did. But I am curious.

Dina: Mm-hmm?

Graham: In all the time I've known you, you never told me what ended your marriage to john. I assume it was when he found out ashley wasn't his daughter.

Dina: Oh, no, no. John never found that out.

Graham: Interesting.

Dina: Well, there were lots of secrets that upended our relationship, but that one -- that one stayed a secret. And that's the way it will stay.

Jack: Graham refuted your story about his mother being in a retirement home in florida. He convinced dina that's his aunt.

Ashley: Oh, my god. This is insanity, jack. It has to stop.

Jack: Now, now, I agree. But we have more pressing matters right now. What did you find out from our friends downstairs?

Ashley: I came this close to not going. Then I remembered it's our brother who's going after our father's company with so much fervor.

Jack: What did you pick up on?

Ashley: Not that much. They're very busy. Billy's definitely playing his cards very close to the vest. I think they took your bait.

Jack: Yes!

Ashley: Before he left, he mentioned something about expecting a surprise.

Jack: Well, see, you did find out something. There's gonna be a surprise, all right. It's gonna be billy's surprise, and it's going to be decidedly unpleasant.

Ashley: Jack, have you looked at this from every angle? I mean, I know you think that you're -- you're gonna be serving brash & sassy an epic fail, but what if it ends up being an epic win? I mean, think about it for a second. I mean, no matter how they react or respond to your bait, they could end up catching lightning in a bottle. They could end up having a huge hit on their hands, and then we're just gonna be standing by the sidelines, just watching.

Jack: You're giving billy too much credit. His endless need for risk is going to be his undoing. And then he will take victoria down for us.

Hilary: Victoria. Is it always gonna be like this with us? There was a time where we were friends.

Victoria: Yes, then along came a little gc buzz news special referring to me as "brash & loony."

Hilary: And I truly apologize for that. I hope that the day will come where we can put all of that behind us. But we weren't just friends. We also found ways for our businesses to mutually benefit.

Victoria: Could you be any more self-serving? I mean, do you have any idea the damage that little piece of tape caused me? Then I see you having lunch with jack. I wouldn't be surprised if he was feeding you something for a follow-up story.

Hilary: Jack and I are old friends. We were catching up. That's all that lunch was about.

Victoria: Oh, I know what you're about. You've made it your mission to take me down. Maybe I should make it my mission to take you down.

Juliet: Looks like you could use one. It's not like I'm gonna drink it.

Cane: Thanks. Anyway, look, it's -- it's more than just the baby for lily. You know, it's everything. It's the lies, it's my mistakes, it's, uh...

[ Sighs ] Anyway, you don't need to be concerned with that. You know, just take care of yourself, and don't worry about my lost marriage. So...

Juliet: It's nice of you to be concerned, especially with all you're dealing with. But I'll be okay. Having a baby is all about planning. And I've been doing a lot of that. Even if there are some things I-I can't settle on.

Cane: What do you mean?

Juliet: After you left last night to talk with michael, hilary and I had a chance to speak. She suggested I consider moving back to tokyo.

Cane: Oh.

Juliet: It caught me off guard, but it makes sense. A little, anyway. I had a lot of success there, so maybe it is where I should go for...a fresh start.

Cane: [ Sighs ] Look, you know what? I-I think that's a mistake, you know? 'Cause genoa city is your home now, and this is where I can support you and the baby.

Juliet: I remember when you wanted me to go back to tokyo.

Cane: Yeah. Yeah, well, that's, uh, before you were pregnant. Things are kind of... different now.

Juliet: Just think about what you're saying. If I'm gone, I won't be a walking, talking reminder for lily of what you did. I am prepared to move out of your life forever.

Cane: Just stop it. Stop, all right? Don't listen to hilary, 'cause no good will come from that. Just... just stay. Okay?

Juliet: Okay. I'll drop it.

Cane: Okay. Okay.

Juliet: Okay.

Billy: [ Sighs ] So, you will be taking care of some of the things that cane was doing, as well as a portion of what juliet was doing. It'll be more of a combo deal. Actually, it'll be more of a triple threat, because we're still gonna need you on the brand-ambassador side of things. Look [Sighs] We know that you managed the gcac and you were great at that. We know you did marketing for jabot, and you were wonderful at that. So we both feel very confident that you can take the reins and handle the marketing here, as well.

Lily: Okay. I really hope that you're not doing this 'cause my dad lent you money. I don't want to be a charity case.

Billy: That's not what this is about at all.

Lily: All right. I mean, then, you have no idea what doing this for me, especially now, means.

Billy: Oh, no. You're doing this for us. For me and vicki and brash & sassy.

Lily: Thank you. I just -- I'm so lucky to have friends like you guys. I mean, I haven't smiled like this since... I don't even know when.

Billy: Good. Well, I hope to see that beautiful smile around here full time, then. Starting now, I hope?

Lily: I don't know what to say. Thank you so much.

[ Laughs ]

Dina: Well, if my favorite was jack, john's was definitely ashley. Oh, he doted on her. But she was so devastated when she learned the truth, and I -- I just can't imagine what it would have done to john. That's why I decided to walk away from the marriage, to keep that secret under wraps.

Graham: Well, now that john is gone, what's the harm in the secret coming out?

Dina: Oh, well, very few people know about it. I mean, ashley would just go through hell all over again. It might even be worse if it became widely known. That's the way ashley wants it. And that's the way it will be. Now, if you'll excuse me, I am exhausted. I'm going to take a rest in my suite.

Jack: I know exactly what happened downstairs without even seeing it. Billy found that nugget on the jabot server using phyllis' computer, and went straight to victoria to convince her to use all of their resources to take us on. It is the gamble billy is most attracted to -- seeing how far out on the edge he can climb without falling off. He will always, always be his own worst enemy.

Ashley: Okay. All right. I get it. One thing I don't understand, though, is victoria. She's very smart. She understands the fine line between risk and reward when it comes to business. So why would she jeopardize her company, the company she loves so much, on billy?

Jack: Maybe she doesn't think billy's jeopardizing anything. Maybe she thinks she can have billy at the same time she can have a successful company, and she is going for it.

Ashley: Just doesn't sound like victoria to me.

Hilary: There is no need for threats. I'm trying to be civil.

Victoria: Oh, okay. Well, good luck with the show and whatever sleaze you've uncovered next. But I'd be willing to bet it will never be about jabot, 'cause you can't bite the hand that feeds, can you?

Hilary: I could've ran with brash & sassy's sexual-harassment suit for a week, but I didn'T.

Victoria: Yeah. Heh. Well, the judge's gag order kept sources from talking to you. That's why you stayed away from it.

Hilary: Just so you understand [Muffled, distorted] I don't do sleaze. But if I see it and it's newsworthy, I will record it. Maybe you should look in the mirror, okay? Own up to your mistakes. There have been quite a few doozies lately, now, haven't there?

Victoria: Stop it. Stop it! I can't take anymore of this! I can't take any more of you! Just stop! Stop!

Jordan: Hey, is everything okay?

Victoria: I bet you're kicking yourself right now, wishing you had a camera rolling on me. Another missed newsworthy opportunity. You should be careful with this one. She might try to dig up some trash on you and air it. Make you a laughingstock.

Next on "the young and the restless"...

Devon: Kevin made me wonder if I had some competition for you.

Noah: Move in with me.

Phyllis: What chemistry are you talking about? That's all in your head.

Victoria: You sure about that? How do you know we haven't kissed?
