Phyllis: Pbht! Hello?
Jack: You want me to get that?
Phyllis: No, ma'am. Thank you. I'm not interested. Okay. [Sighs] Telemarketer.
Jack: Who is it?
Ravi: Well, good night again.
Ashley: Night. Night.
Nick: So how was faith when you talked to her?
Sharon: She's coping with things.
Nick: I hope you're feeling better about my decision.
Sharon: Taking her out of her grandparents' place and having her move back home without even a discussion?
Nick: Sharon, it was time.
Sharon: She asks about them. Especially Victor. She's hoping he'll be okay with her leaving.
Nick: Trust me, dad is gonna survive. I mean, he just left town. It's not like he's gonna be around anyway.
Sharon: Faith mentioned to me that she walked into the stable and saw Victor on the ground, and you had knocked him down.
Nick: Yeah, uh, we were sparring. Things just got a little out of hand.
Sharon: Hmm, well, it scared faith.
Nick: We both talked to her, reassured her that everything was fine.
Sharon: Mm, she brought it up to me, so I guess she was more upset than either of you realized.
Nick: Well, I'll talk to her again. I mean, there's no reason for her to be concerned.
Sharon: All the times you've thought about taking a swing at him... is there maybe something more to this boxing thing than you're mentioning?
Nick: Like what?
Sharon: I'm just wondering if maybe something happened between you and Victor, and that's why you didn't want her living there anymore.
Nick: Dad had nothing to do with my decision, all right? I just realized the longer we waited to bring faith home, the harder it was gonna be. Sharon, she is our daughter, and she belongs with us. Don't you agree with that?
Sharon: I'm thrilled to have her back home. In fact, I'm planning something special for our first night together.
Nick: Good. She'll love that. It'll mean a lot to her.
Sharon: You taking off?
Nick: Yeah, I got to go. Uh, I'll talk to you tomorrow?
Sharon: All right. See you then. Oh! Hello.
Scott: Hey. Sorry to cut the evening short.
Sharon: Nikki called you pretty late, so it must have been important.
Scott: It was a little bizarre, if you want to know the truth. She actually basically ordered me not to write Victor's biography.
Sharon: Wow, that is out of left field.
Scott: I'll say.
Sharon: Any reasons?
Scott: She's worried that a tell-all book might hurt the family, but I have a feeling that there's a little more than that.
Sharon: Well, I could see why. Nikki coming to you behind Victor's back while he's away to scuttle his project...
Scott: You know about the trip?
Sharon: Nick just now mentioned it to me. Have you tried to contact Victor?
Scott: Got a recording that his voicemail's not accepting calls, and, uh, it's not that Nikki was very forthcoming. She didn't tell me where he was or when he'd be back. Just that he didn't want to be reached. Seems a little bit sketchy to me.
Sharon: Well, Victor's done that before when there's been a crisis. And finding out that Chloe murdered his son? I'd say that qualifies.
Scott: Well, I mean, you know the family. Do you think there's more going on?
Chelsea: Hey. I came as soon as I got your message.
Paul: Well, I wanted to give you an update on the search for Chloe.
Chelsea: Do you have any leads? I want that woman brought back here. Now.
Phyllis: Thanks for stopping by, I can't help you right now. I've got company. Maybe tomorrow, okay? [Laughs] Mrs. Elliott. She lives downstairs. I always have to help her with her computer.
Jack: Well, I guess since you decided not to team up with me, I'll, uh -- I'll leave you to it.
Phyllis: Yeah. Good luck with Victor. I'll be rooting for ya. Just taking my life in another direction. Hope you understand.
Jack: If you change your mind...
Phyllis: I won't.
Jack: I'll see you at the office.
Phyllis: Okay. Bye.
Billy: That was close.
Phyllis: That was very close. That would not have ended very well for any of us.
Billy: What the hell was Jack doing here anyway?
Phyllis: Well, he ended up on my doorstep. He wanted me to join him on his campaign to annihilate Victor.
Billy: What did you say?
Phyllis: I said "go for it." You know, as much as I'd love to see Victor brought to his knees, I told him that I'm gonna sit this one out.
Billy: Well, revenge is sweet but time-consuming.
Billy: You have better things to do with your time.
Phyllis: Yeah, I thought it was good that he came to me. Gives me hope. I mean, our conversations were downright civil.
Billy: Well, that's -- that's good for you.
Phyllis: Okay. Enough about Jack. So, I texted you to call me. I didn't think you'd stop by. Not that I'm complaining.
Billy: I couldn't just call you. I needed to see you.
Nick: What's up, man? Uh, hey, Chelsea. It's me. Feels like it's been forever. I miss you. So call me.
Paul: We have been in touch with police departments all over the country, the feds... so far, there's no trace.
Chelsea: Nothing? How can that be? Staying out of sight takes money. Chloe tore out of that house with the clothes on her back, literally. A one-of-a-kind custom wedding gown. So if you want to find her, go look for a crazy woman walking around in a wedding dress!
Paul: Chelsea, Chelsea, I know you're frustrated and angry, but we're doing everything we can to find her. Chloe is in hiding. She is completely off the grid. She is not using any of her credit cards. She has not made a withdrawal from any bank account.
Chelsea: What about her cell phone?
Paul: She's made no calls. There is no signal.
Chelsea: So she just vanished? How, Paul? It's not like she had time to even prepare for this. She ran away from her own wedding!
Paul: Look, if Chloe thought there was a chance that she would be exposed, I'm sure she prepared for that contingency.
Chelsea: What about her old mental hospital? Maybe she's having a nervous breakdown. Maybe she called one of her doctors there.
Paul: Right. You know, that was one of the first calls we made, and if she goes there looking for sanctuary, the chief of staff will contact us immediately.
Chelsea: You closed the case on Adam's death too soon.
Paul: Look, I want to assure you. We will find her. Whatever it takes. We are not giving up. There is no statute of limitations on murder.
Chelsea: I appreciate your effort, I really do, but it's cold comfort. I can't wait months or years for Chloe to pay for what she did to my husband.
Sharon: I wish I could help, but I have no clue what's going on. I mean, with Victor, anything's possible.
Scott: Yeah. I hear that a lot.
Sharon: You know, I'm sure he'll be back soon, and he will answer all of your questions. So, in the meantime, I don't think you should worry about him.
Scott: Yeah, you're probably right. This is what I'm like. I just -- I can't let this book consume me, you know? Well, since we didn't get to finish dinner tonight, maybe we could have a little dessert? Hmm?
Sharon: Mm, let's see. Hmm. I happen to have a menu full of desserts right here.
Scott: Oh, god. I see an éclair with my name on it.
Sharon: [Chuckles] Works for me. Why don't you take a seat?
Scott: I will. Oh! I am a total pushover for something sweet. You ever have banitsa?
Sharon: I don't know. What is it?
Scott: It's a Bulgarian pastry. It's made with apples and walnuts. I got a really great recipe. I'll make you some.
Sharon: Oh! I didn't know that you cook.
Scott: Yeah. I got a lot of secrets. Hang out with me, and you might learn a few.
Sharon: Sounds intriguing.
Scott: Well, how about you? Got anything I should know about? Did I say something wrong?
Sharon: No. It's just... before this friendship goes any further, I think there's something that I should be honest about with you.
Ravi: Ashley? I thought you were turning in.
Ashley: Uh, yeah. Uh, so did I, but here I am. What about you?
Ravi: Yeah, I wasn't gonna fall asleep any time soon. Look, it's obvious you wanted to be alone, so I'll just leave you to it.
Ashley: Hey, Ravi. Want to join me?
Sharon: I have enjoyed our time together. And I was happy when you asked me out.
Sharon: My husband. Ex-husband, Dylan. It's only been a few months since he left, and I'm still learning to accept it and move on and just carve out a new life for myself. And there have been times where I actually realized that everything is going to be okay. Like when I spend time with my kids, and when I do well in school, and when I'm spending time with you. But I still have a ways to go.
Scott: I get it. I mean, you want to take it slow. I'm still getting over the culture shock of being back in the states. After working overseas so many years, it's, uh... it's a lot to acclimate to.
Sharon: I can imagine.
Scott: Yeah, and coming home wasn't in the plan, so... I decided to make the best of it, and getting to know you has helped. So if you want to take it slow, we can take it very, very slow. I have no timetable. Doesn't matter. All I know is I'm just happy to be spending time with you, Sharon. No pressure.
Mariah: Hi! Both of you. Please tell I'm not crashing your date. Again.
Phyllis: Ooh. Here it is!
Billy: That smells good.
Phyllis: Mm-hmm. There you go. You got your wontons...
Billy: Thank you. I'm starving.
Phyllis: Spring roll with a side of peanut sauce, and my red beef curry. Yeah!
Billy: As good as this smells, I miss your home cooking.
Phyllis: [Laughs] Ordering Thai food is my specialty, among other things.
Billy: You know, I have to admit... I couldn't have predicted how the day would go when I rang your bell -- well, so to speak.
Billy: In fact, I couldn't have predicted about anything today.
Phyllis: I'm gonna go out on a limb here. Did something happen with Victoria after you got to work? What did she do now?
Billy: She apologized. For the way that she's been treating me, about not wanting me in her life.
Phyllis: Meaning that she does want you?
Billy: Trust me, I couldn't believe it when she said it.
Phyllis: Neither can I. [Laughs]
Chelsea: How can someone who claims to love you murder your husband? I mean, this was my best friend in the entire world, you know? And people questioned her motives to me, they did. And I defended her. I said that she had a big heart and that she deserved a second chance, when really, she was just a heartless monster out for revenge the entire time.
Paul: Chelsea, Chloe is ill. She's like my sister patty. She is violent and cunning one moment, and the next moment, she's loving and tender. Believe me, I know what it's like to hope that the person you care about is going to get better... ...only to find out they are incapable of it.
Chelsea: Oh, I don't care if Chloe gets better. She's dangerous. She needs to be locked up. She's out there right now, doing god knows what, while my son and I and all of Adam's family are left to sit here and to suffer. I mean, we're praying for justice we may never get.
Christine: Hey, Chelsea.
Jack: Thank you.
Jack: You've been on my mind since I heard about Adam. I'm very sorry.
Nick: Yeah, I, uh... appreciate the thought, Jack. You know, you were closer to my brother than I was. This news had to hit you as hard as anyone.
Jack: Yeah, it did, to find out Chloe could do that and none of us suspected anything... how you doing?
Nick: I'm all right. I mean, it was a shock to everyone. Especially Chelsea.
Jack: What about Victor? I can only imagine his reaction to finding out his son was murdered in cold blood. He must be going through hell. How's he handling all this?
Ashley: What's that?
Ravi: Is that a real question right now? I mean, there is only one thing that I can think about, and... yeah, I'm gonna need another beer before I can finish that sentence.
Ashley: [Laughs] I don't want it to be awkward between us.
Ravi: Yeah, neither do I. But if I'm being honest, 80% of my daily interactions are awkward. This just takes it to a whole new level.
Ashley: Well, why is that?
Ravi: I don't know. I don't want to make a mistake, and I'm not sure what that kiss meant.
Ashley: I'm not sure what it meant, either.
Ravi: Well, for what it's worth, I enjoyed it very much.
Benjamin: Ashley! How was your evening?
Ashley: Oh, hello, Benjamin. Uh, we had a lovely time at the met, thank you.
Benjamin: The opera. Nice! Know what I did? Dinner and drinks with friends, and the whole time I was asking myself why you decided that you would go out with our young friend here instead of going out with me.
Nick: You know, dad was devastated all over again.
Jack: And then for him to learn that Chloe escaped, that had to make things worse. He doesn't handle setbacks too well, does he?
Nick: No, he does not.
Jack: I assume his minions are tracking her down right now.
Nick: That's a safe assumption. You know, once they find her, what happens then is a whole other question.
Jack: Abby said Victor left town himself. Any chance he's, uh, on her trail, taking things into his own hands to make himself the hero?
Nick: It's an interesting theory.
Jack: Think there's any truth to it? You know, it sounds like something my dad would do, but from what I hear, my dad is just out of town on a business trip.
Chelsea: I hate this day so much.
Nick: What's wrong?
Chelsea: Paul just told me the police have no leads, so Chloe could be anywhere by now. She's getting away with murder, and apparently, there's nothing we can do about it.
Paul: Chloe's smart, and she's fooled people before, but to drop off the face of the earth like this? I just keep thinking we must be missing some very obvious clue. But what could it be? Hmm?
Christine: You look exhausted. You've practically been living here.
Paul: So what's new? Thanks.
Christine: I think you need to go home and get some sleep.
Paul: I will if you come with me.
Christine: That sounds like heaven but, um, I have a late night.
Paul: You know, I was just thinking. Maybe you ought to take your own advice.
Christine: I wish I could. A big assignment just fell in my lap, and I have to say, it's a little intimidating.
Paul: You? Nervous about a case?
Christine: [Chuckles] Happens to the best of us.
Paul: [Chuckles] Whatever it is, I'm sure you're gonna do just fine.
Phyllis: Sounds like Victoria was pretty uncomfortable with the way things were left before.
Billy: She was, yeah.
Phyllis: What did you tell her?
Billy: I said it's better we, uh, just stay with the status quo.
Phyllis: Which is? You know, after today, I mean...
Billy: Just co-parents, co-working... you know, friends. Nothing -- nothing romantic.
Phyllis: How did she react to that?
Billy: She said, "if that's the way you want it, then that's fine. That's the way we'll keep it."
Phyllis: Then what?
Billy: What do you mean, then what? I mean, we, uh... we went back to work.
Phyllis: Were you being straight with her? I mean, is that really all you want from Victoria now?
Billy: Where is this coming from?
Phyllis: Well, your head must be spinning. You come over here after being upset with Victoria this morning, and one thing leads to another with us...
Billy: Believe me, I remember.
Phyllis: ...And then you turn right around and find out you have a chance with her.
Billy: Yeah. So?
Phyllis: [Scoffs] Come on, Billy. This is the love of your life. You find out that there is a possibility you could be with her, and you just shrug your shoulders and say, "yeah. So?" I don't buy it.
Billy: What's going on? Hmm? We were just having Thai food, having a drink, enjoying ourselves, and...
Phyllis: I just want to simply know where all of this leaves us.
Nick: I'm so sorry.
Chelsea: This psychopath needs to be locked up for the rest of her life.
Jack: You're not the only one who feels that way, Chelsea.
Chelsea: So, what Paul told me, should I fill Victor in, or...?
Nick: He's on a trip. He can't be reached.
Chelsea: Why? Because of Adam? Did he want to be alone to get a handle on his emotions, or...
Jack: Victor's not the touchy-feel sort of guy.
Chelsea: Well, normally, no, but this is not normal situation, Jack. When I saw Victor and I showed him Adam's wedding ring, the ring that Chloe took off of his finger and kept as a trophy, Victor was just as devastated as I was.
Nick: [Sighs] I got to wait on a customer.
Scott: Bombs are raining down. You can hear explosions going off in the distance, and we're just driving like maniacs. We get halfway down the block and my photographer jams on his brake. He's got to go back for something.
Sharon: Oh, no!
Scott: Yes! Yeah, yeah, yeah! We're like, "no, no, no, no! Whatever it is, we can get another one! We got to get out of here!" And he just pulls back in the driveway and runs in, and guess what he comes out with? He goes in for what, his camera gear or his phone? I mean, what do you think?
Sharon: The whiskey.
Scott: I mean, can you believe that? Although, it was top-shelf stuff, but...
Mariah: War photographers are fearless, I guess.
Scott: This guy certainly was, and he was risking our lives over a bottle of booze. Unbelievable. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! But we're sitting inside this jeep with all of this chaos and destruction going on outside, and it turned out to be the best shot I've ever had in my life. It was just...Zen.
Sharon: Wow. I can imagine. Wow. [Laughs] Good story.
Scott: Oh, no, no, no. Let me take that.
Sharon: Oh, no. Just sit down and relax. Here. Enjoy your coffee with Mariah.
Mariah: You know, I could listen to you tell stories all night. I don't even care whether they're true or not.
Scott: Oh, they're true. Sometimes too true.
Mariah: I'm sure, I just mean that you're a natural storyteller.
Scott: Is that your professional opinion?
Mariah: I didn't know I was. Professional, that is.
Scott: Yeah. I -- I didn't mean to insult you the other night at Kevin's... you know, I want to say wedding? But it, uh...
Mariah: I think "fiasco" is better.
Mariah: And, no, you were right. I have no training and I would have broken the story about Chloe and Adam and risked having it blow up in my face.
Scott: Well, it's like a good carpenter. Measure twice, cut once. So, pro reporters, they verify their facts, then they back that up by going back and getting some more evidence, and then they publish or go on the air with it, and people have to find out whether or not your story's trustworthy. And then they'll decide over time whether or not you are. And then, in that group, an editor will give you some paid gigs.
Mariah: I think I'd like to stay away from all the fluff and gossip. You know, leave that to Hilary. I'd like to do more investigative pieces.
Mariah: Sharon said that you helped her out with her writing.
Scott: I critiqued a draft of one of her papers for a class. Sharon did the revision and all the heavy lifting.
Mariah: Well, do you think that you'd be willing to do the same thing with me? Give me some pointers so hopefully I can avoid screwing up?
Scott: Sure. I'd be glad to.
Sharon: Sorry, I just had a sudden rush up at the bar.
[Cell phone chimes]
Mariah: It's those late-night caffeine addicts getting their last fix of the day.
Sharon: Well, I'm sorry to have to shut down the party, but I really have to close this place up soon.
Mariah: I have no idea where this day went.
Sharon: It just happens that way sometimes, you know?
Scott: You know, I'm gonna get out of your hair. Uh, thanks for a great evening. [Clears throat] It was nice talking with you.
Mariah: Yeah, same here.
Sharon: It was lovely.
Scott: Yeah. I'll see you soon.
Sharon: Oh! Okay. I'll look forward to that.
Benjamin: [Exhales sharply] There. Much better. Now I just need a drink.
Ashley: Um, excuse me. I don't believe we invited you to join us.
Ravi: We didn't. This is actually a private conversation, so if you wouldn't mind...
Benjamin: Ravi, right? You're the software engineering guy?
Benjamin: Yeah, I don't get it.
Ravi: Perhaps if you had given Ashley the respect she deserved when you invited her to dinner, she'd have spent more time here in new York with you. Tonight, she had a better option, someone who's more than happy to give her his full undivided attention.
Benjamin: [Laughs] Better? That's funny.
Ashley: Actually, you're the only one laughing.
Benjamin: Uh, listen. Don't take this the wrong way, but you're just a geeky tech dude who looks down his nose at anybody who doesn't know how to code or whatever. But you know what? If you want a paycheck, you still need to work for guys like me.
Ravi: Guys like you wouldn't have a business to run if it weren't for guys like me. You're this self-proclaimed master of the universe with no idea how it actually works. Tell me, if your firewalls are breached or your system fails, how would you save Hochman industries? Do you even know how to update the graphics on your own company's website? No, didn't think so. Your tech know-how starts and ends with you posting pictures of whatever you ordered at dinner. So spare me the condescending attitude and do Ashley the courtesy of leaving.
Benjamin: You done?
Ravi: Actually, no. One more question. You always this much of a pompous ass?
Benjamin: Are you serious, dude? Talking that way to me?
Ravi: Did it sound like I was joking? 'Cause I don't see anything funny about asking someone to be polite. If you've forgotten or you just never learned how, I'd more than happy to teach you.
Ashley: I think maybe you should call it a night.
Benjamin: Good night, Ashley.
Ravi: Oh, my god. Oh, my god. Oh, my god. That was Benjamin Hochman. I need that second beer for sure.
Ashley: And you just continue to surprise me.
Jack: I apologize for the crack I made about Victor.
Chelsea: Oh, no. I -- I knew what you meant. I mean, the truth is, I know Victor doesn't display his emotions often, but he's honestly sick about all of this.
Jack: I don't doubt that for a minute.
Chelsea: I know you two have a lot of history, but I'm sure you can sympathize with a father who lost his son in such a horrific way.
Jack: I would never wish the loss of a child on anyone, and that includes Victor.
Chelsea: I think right now we're all just beating ourselves up for not seeing through Chloe sooner. Well, actually, nick did. I just didn't believe him.
Jack: Wait. Nick was onto her? Here.
Chelsea: Thanks. Yeah. He was. She said odd things, and then... [Sighs] Connor has this toy, and it started to fall apart at the seams, and nick offered to fix it, and... when he did, he found a tracking device inside.
Chelsea: Yeah. He realized it must have been put there by Chloe. So I confronted her about it. And, of course, she came up with some elaborate lie about how she was trying to protect me and Connor, and I'm an idiot and so I believed her.
Jack: But nick didn't.
Chelsea: No. No, he didn't. And more evidence started to come to light. And he actually tried to get her to confess, but of course she didn't because she's a psycho and she's devious. [Sighs] I think I just -- you know, I had nick in one ear and I had Chloe in the other, and I was going through a really confusing time. So I think it was easier for me to trust my friend. I was in denial. I mean, she even convinced me that nick was, like, being unfair to her. That's -- if I just believed nick from the beginning, Chloe would be behind bars right now.
Jack: I think you're being a little too hard on yourself. The truth is, she fooled a lot of people. I'll bet Victor is out for blood. I assume his family's behind him.
Chelsea: Yeah, I mean, his family supports him, but I wouldn't put it that way.
Chelsea: No, I mean, I just don't want to give you the wrong impression.
Jack: Oh, no, I don't have any impression. I just wasn't sure what you meant.
Chelsea: I think nick and Victor and myself, we're all just handling the tragedy of all of this in different ways. I'm focusing on my son, Victor apparently wants to be alone...
Jack: And what about Nicholas?
Chelsea: He's really been there for me. He's been great, but I think he, um... nick has a lot going on inside, you know, so I don't think -- I don't think he's relating to his father's grief at all.
Jack: Any part of you think nick blames Victor for what happened to Adam?
Chelsea: I think all the stuff with Chloe is opening up old wounds. I think that's why nick doesn't want to hear about it. [Sighs]
Mariah: So... are we gonna talk about it?
Mariah: You've been holding out on me. About Scott! Don't you think the fact that you're going out with him might be worth mentioning?
Sharon: Oh! Oh, that.
Mariah: Oh! Oh, yeah. When I saw you two at the theatre together, my jaw nearly dropped to the floor!
Sharon: It was a spur-of-the-moment thing, not a date.
Mariah: Okay. What would you call it then?
Sharon: Two people spending time together?
Mariah: At the movies, over dinner... isn't that, like, the definition of a date?
Sharon: Don't turn this into something that it isn't!
Mariah: Would I do that?
Sharon: You have a curious mind, and you have said 1,000 times that you think your mother needs to get a life.
Mariah: It's very true.
Sharon: So...do you have a problem with Scott?
Mariah: Not at all! I mean, he seems like a good guy. Smart, fantastic hair... he's been great to Kevin. Takes his work very seriously.
Sharon: So you like him then.
Mariah: Yeah. As much as you can like somebody that you barely know.
Scott: Come on.
Scott: You're late.
Christine: Well, I got here as soon as I could. Thanks for meeting me.
Scott: Like I had a choice?
Christine: I'm sorry we haven't had a chance to see each other since you've been back.
Scott: This isn't some family reunion, okay?
Christine: Scott, you're my nephew. I'm glad to see you. I'm glad you're safe and doing well.
Scott: But that's not what this is about. So cut to the chase. What do you want from me?
Ravi: I have a big mouth. Maybe too big.
Ashley: Are you thinking that you overstepped with Hochman?
Ravi: Look, I know you don't need me speaking for you. The words just came rushing out. I'm sorry if I embarrassed you.
Ashley: Are you kidding? He deserved everything you said. And more. By the way, thanks for standing up for me. I liked it a lot.
Ravi: Of course.
Ashley: Anyway, um, we got an early flight tomorrow, so I guess I'm gonna head on up.
Ravi: Yeah. Tomorrow, the flight. Right.
Ashley: Hey, Ravi. Thanks again. For everything.
Ravi: Night, Ashley.
Ashley: Good night.
Mariah: You know, it doesn't matter what I think about Scott. What matters is what you think.
Sharon: I enjoy my time with him.
Mariah: That's a good start.
Sharon: You know, it's way too early to know if this will go anywhere.
Mariah: So, what do you like most about him?
Mariah: That he's worldly or cares about important issues or that he's super-hot?
Sharon: Um, all of the above?
Mariah: [Laughs] But you know what I appreciate most about him, is that he just seems honest. You know, what you see is what you get. Come on, let's go.
Scott: No. For the first time in years, I have a normal life. Special agent Maxwell can go to hell, all right? I'm through taking assignments.
Christine: Scott, just listen to me.
Scott: Why do they want me? I mean, I'm not even an active journalist. I don't have the same access I had before, and Genoa city isn't this hotspot for espionage or criminal activity. I mean, what -- what could I even do?
Christine: You could do a lot. Your contribution has been invaluable. The people at the top don't want to lose you.
Scott: They want my help? I mean, where were they when I needed help? When I was out there, I was supposedly writing a story for my paper. I was actually on assignment for them, gathering information for them, and where were they when I was kidnapped?
Christine: There was a plan in the works to extract you.
Scott: But they didn't! They didn't rescue me! Victor Newman rescued me. I don't owe those jerks anything.
Phyllis: I'm a big girl, Billy. You're not gonna hurt my feelings.
Billy: Phyllis, I don't want to be with Victoria. I can't be with Victoria because nothing's gonna change with us.
Phyllis: You said she apologized.
Billy: Yeah, she did, and the whole time I could tell that she was hiding something from me because that's the way it is with us. She has her walls up, she throws me crumbs, and I'm expected to accept whatever she's throwing me. Look, I'm not gonna lie to you, okay? I was glad that she admitted to screwing up. But I can't forget the way that she disregarded me like that. I don't want to forget that. Come here. Victoria and I are always gonna mean something to each other. There's always gonna be a bond because of our children. And right now, we're co-workers. But I came here tonight because I want to be with you. If you need time to think about this... just tell me and I'll leave.
Phyllis: That's the last thing I want. You know, even though we both moved on... I never stopped caring about you. And then when you came back today and all that chemistry just started rushing back...
Billy: It was the same for me.
Phyllis: We're single now. And that's new. And... this thing between us is still very complicated. Maybe it's too complicated.
Billy: Easy's never been our style, has it?
Phyllis: No. I don't want to give you up this time.
Billy: You don't have to. You don't have to.
Nick: Thanks for stopping by, Jack. I was kind of hoping to spend a little time alone with Chelsea.
Jack: No, of course. Of course. I'm out of here. Uh, listen, please give my condolences to your father the next time you speak to him.
Nick: You know, you cared about Adam, and I respect that, but where my father's grief is concerned, I think we both know you're being disingenuous.
Jack: Despite our history, nick, I never want to see your family suffer.
Nick: Well, mom, Victoria, and I, we're gonna get through this, in our own way.
Jack: Take care.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Ashley: What exactly have you accomplished since I've been away?
Jack: I've learned some intriguing information.
Chloe: After you turned me down, I stole a sample of yours from the hospital. Bella might be your daughter.
