Episode # 11151 ~ Nick surprises Sharon; Abby relishes her new role at Newman Enterprises; Billy & Phyllis reunite.
Provided By Suzanne
Reed: Did you see what's in the driveway?
Billy: Nothing. It's empty.
Reed: Exactly! My car's gone! Mom already sent it away!
Billy: Yeah. I see that. Look, Reed, I know this is a downer --
Reed: Grandpa gave me that as a gift! What gives her the right to take it away like that?!
Billy: She's your mother.
Billy: She gets to make that call. And this is not easy on her, either.
Reed: [Scoffs] I don't get it! I mean, last night she throws me this awesome party, gives me the coolest guitar ever, and then goes ballistic over grandpa's gift?!
Billy: Well, your grandfather should have consulted with her, but he didn't, okay? Look, man, you can't make her out to be the bad guy here.
Reed: Mom and I were getting along so well. And now she's back to being the same mean, up-tight person with a zillion rules. What's wrong with her?!
Nikki: "Nikki, I'm going away for a while. I'm sure you'll be pleased since you made it clear I'm not welcome in my own home. Victor."
Nikki: Hi, Tessa. Come on in.
Tessa: Thanks. Uh, just an FYI -- I had a great time at reed's party.
Nikki: Good. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Tessa: That guitar his mom got him -- wow. I'll have him shredding on that thing in no time. I mean, that is one lucky kid.
Nikki: Well, Victoria wants to encourage his interest in music. It was a lovely gift. An appropriate gift. Um, well, I'm sure you're wondering why I asked you over here. I have a proposition for you.
Sharon: Oh! Sorry. Uh, here I am sitting. I bet you would like a coffee.
Nick: No, no, no. Sorry. Uh, I just -- I didn't want to interrupt you.
Sharon: Well, I'm running a business, so I kind of expect it.
Nick: What are you working on?
Sharon: It's another paper for my psych class. What can I get you?
Nick: Not the right question. The question is, "what am I getting for you?"
Ashley: It's so good to see you.
Traci: It's so good to see you!
Ashley: I missed you so much.
Traci: I know. Me, too.
Ashley: Want some coffee?
Traci: Oh, yes. I'd love some. Thank you.
Traci: All right. I want you to tell me everything, all about this conference. It's a big one for jabot, right?
Ashley: Yes. It's the cosmetics industry R&D. I mean, so everybody unveils their products for the year.
Traci: That's so exciting.
Ashley: I know.
Ashley: I gave the keynote. Went off without a hitch, probably because of Ravi.
Ashley: Yeah, he's our genius software engineer. He's the guy behind JabotGo.
Traci: Oh, I remember you mentioning him now.
Ashley: Yeah. I asked him to come along to new York to help me out with all the technical aspects. And, of course, he did not disappoint.
Traci: Oh. Good for him.
Ashley: He's so amazing. I mean, when it comes to programming, nobody's better. I mean, apps, websites. Just the beginning for Ravi.
Traci: Wow. So you're a serious fan.
Ashley: [Laughs] Well, he has generated tons of revenue for jabot, and he's been an incredible addition to the team.
Traci: And is that all he is?
Phyllis: Apologize for what?
Scott: Last night.
Phyllis: The drinking or the fact that we almost had sex?
Scott: Well, kind of both.
Phyllis: You want to know something funny? I was just about ready to call you and say the same. I am the one who grabbed the bottle of scotch.
Scott: I didn't exactly push you away when we started kissing, so, uh...
Phyllis: So now that we've established we are both at fault, maybe we should just stay friends.
Victoria: [Sighs] How dare you -- where's dad?
Abby: Out of town. And you'll never guess what he did before he left.
Nikki: It's an annual event. This year I'm the chair. It's coming up really fast, and there is so much work to be done. I just need somebody to help me keep everything organized.
Tessa: Hmm. You mean me as your assistant?
Nikki: I know it's not music, but --
Tessa: Oh, no. If there's cash involved, I'm in.
Nikki: Well, yes, of course there is. But you don't even know what the position entails.
Tessa: Well, I've done the whole crammed-cubicle thing, so anything you throw at me, I'm pretty sure I can take it.
Nikki: Great. Then it's settled.
Tessa: Great. Um, I'm kind of surprised you thought of me, though. Doesn't your husband have folks on the payroll who do this kind of thing?
Nikki: I prefer to choose my own staff, and I choose you.
Tessa: Well, awesome. I mean, you won't be sorry you took a chance on me, Nikki. And the extra cash certainly won't hurt.
Nikki: Yeah, I know how that goes.
Tessa: You do?
Nikki: Well, I haven't always had money. I know what it's like to struggle.
Tessa: Really? You're so classy. I figured you grew up rich.
Nikki: Oh, far from it. I remember what it's like to work for tips. Not easy.
Phyllis: You're a great guy, not to mention easy on the eyes. Hot, some may say.
Scott: You know, it's been a long time since anybody told me that, especially right after saying they just want to be friends.
Phyllis: [Sighs] I did not mean to hurt your feelings. That is the last thing I would want.
Scott: I'm actually relieved.
Scott: Yeah. I was about to say the same thing about that, uh, friends bit. Although you are pretty hot, too.
Phyllis: Oh, glad you think so.
Scott: But getting intimate with my mom's best friend is --
Phyllis: Yeah, that's a little weird.
Scott: Yeah. Thanks for understanding. You're not gonna tell her, are you?
Phyllis: Wasn't planning on it.
Phyllis: Since Lauren is inclined to be a matchmaker, I don't want to get her hopes up.
Scott: Agreed. Particularly since there's, uh, someone else I'm hoping to get to know better.
Phyllis: Great! Go for it. Good for you.
Scott: Thank you.
Phyllis: Wish you all the best.
Sharon: You took faith out of the ranch? Are you sure that's the right thing to do?
Nick: Don't you want her to be home with you?
Sharon: Absolutely. But she's thriving. Her grades are up. She's happy staying with her grandparents. And I hate to say it, but being around Victor has been good for her.
Nick: Well, it's time to move on.
Sharon: Nick --
Nick: Look, faith living with my parents was not supposed to be a permanent thing. She needs to be where she belongs -- with her parents. Now, if it's okay with you, we'll just go back to our old schedule. Does that still work?
Sharon: If you really think this is what's best for faith. Do you?
Nick: It wasn't easy for her to leave my parents' house, but it's time.
Sharon: Well, we just found out about Adam's murder. Victor must be going through hell. Now to take faith away from him...
Nick: Look, it's done, all right? We're already back to our old, normal routine.
Sharon: How is he dealing with the news of Adam's murder?
Nick: I think as well as can be expected given the circumstances. Are you gonna be okay? I know you said you needed some time after Dylan left.
Sharon: Yeah, I, um, I've really moved on. I'm in a great place now.
Nick: And so are we. You know, when I thought Chloe killed Adam, we teamed up to find proof. That just proves that we are past the anger and the bitterness. We're in a good place now, Sharon.
Sharon: I'm glad you think so.
Nick: And look at you. I mean, you're back here running this place, getting your degree. Really happy for you. You're getting your life back on track.
Sharon: I want you to be just as happy.
Reed: If I asked grandpa, maybe he'll give me the car back and I could keep it at the ranch so mom will never know.
Billy: Come on. That's not gonna work.
Reed: Why not?
Billy: Because even if Victor puts the car on ice, your mother's gonna find out, and you, young man, are gonna be grounded for the rest of your life.
Reed: Why is it such a problem that grandpa got me a car without asking mom's permission first?! What's wrong with her?!
Billy: You got to know that she hates when she disappoints you like this. And personally, I would hate it if you wrecked your relationship over this.
Reed: Billy, she listens to you. Could you please talk to her? Try and change her mind?
Victoria: Stop playing games, Abby. Where did dad go, and what did he do before he left?
Abby: Well, he didn't leave me his itinerary. He just said he was leaving town for a while. And then he made me acting C.E.O. I will be running Newman until he's back.
Victoria: Well, I wouldn't read too much into it. He had to leave someone in charge, and this time you're it.
Abby: [Scoffs] Believe what you like. But I know dad's grooming me to take over the company.
Victoria: Good luck.
Abby: If only you meant that.
Victoria: I think it'll be years, if ever, before you have enough experience for dad to hand over the reins.
Abby: Thank you for the vote of confidence. But you don't want the job. Neither does nick. And with Adam gone, I am the only person in this family who cares about our father's legacy.
Victoria: Caring is not the same as competence, Abby.
Abby: Dad is thrilled with my work. Otherwise he wouldn't have left me with this kind of responsibility in record time compared to you or nick. Dad placed his trust in me, and I'm gonna make sure that I'm worthy of it.
Victoria: I have a word of advice for you. I wouldn't put our father on a pedestal. He has a tendency to fall off.
Abby: Every single time I see you with dad, you're thick as thieves. And now you're badmouthing him behind his back? What's your deal?
Victoria: Maybe you haven't noticed how dad turns on a dime with people. One minute you're golden, and the next minute you're out. Pretty soon it's gonna be your turn. That's just who he is.
Abby: What did you want with dad, anyway?
Victoria: Do me a favor. Give him this. And make sure to tell him that it's from me.
Traci: My breakfast was delicious.
Ravi: Me, too. Thank you so much for inviting me.
Ashley: Well, of course. You've done such a good job. The least we can do is feed you.
Ravi: [Chuckles] I'm just happy I got to meet Ashley's sister.
Traci: Ohh. Well, thank you. The pleasure is all mine, Ravi. And I've heard all these wonderful things about all you're doing for jabot.
Ravi: If you mean the app, I just do technical support.
Ashley: You are so modest. Isn't that cute?
Ashley: Too modest.
Ravi: So, you live here in new York?
Traci: Yes, most of the time.
Ravi: And, uh, what do you do, if you don't mind me asking?
Ashley: My sister is a very successful novelist.
Ravi: Wow. How fascinating. I'm sorry. I'm not familiar with your work. I actually do read a lot, so I'm very embarrassed to admit that.
Traci: [Chuckles] No. No. I-I haven't published anything for some time. And I write mostly romance, so that's probably a genre you're not into. But I'm working on a project right now that you might enjoy.
Ashley: What's it about?
Traci: It's historical fiction.
Ravi: Cool. That's my favorite, aside from sci-fi.
Traci: [Laughs] I'll tell you what I'll do. As soon as my editor has had the last word, I will send you a galley copy. How would that be?
Ravi: I would love that. Thank you.
Ravi: That's -- that's awesome. Um, look, I'm sorry to just eat and then leave, but I really have to prepare for today's presentation.
Ashley: Of course. Why don't we meet in the lobby? And then we can go to the convention center together.
Ravi: Yeah. Perfect.
Ravi: It's been really lovely. Um, I hope we get to meet again one day.
Traci: I think we will. [Chuckles]
Traci: Okay, so he's pretty adorable. I can see why you like him.
Billy: I don't exactly have a lot of clout with your mother these days, reed.
Reed: Man, all my friends saw me get that car. Zoey thinks I'm giving her a ride to school today. Now I have to tell them all that mom took the car back.
Billy: Look, I feel for you. I do.
Reed: Can you please try? Talk to her.
Billy: Fine. Fine. I'll talk to her, okay? But I'm telling you, don't get your hopes up.
Reed: All right. Thank you so much.
Tessa: You used to work for tips?
Nikki: Yes, I did, and I have great respect for people who earn their money that way.
Tessa: Well, where did you waitress?
Nikki: Actually, I was a dancer. I performed at this little joint called the bayou.
Tessa: In Genoa city? Really? Is it still around?
Nikki: No. Long gone. Doesn't exist anymore.
Tessa: Oh, no, no. Everything exists online. Oh, here it is. Oh. Oh, wow. It was a strip club.
Nikki: Well, I was an exotic dancer. I'm sure that shocks you.
Tessa: Are you kidding me? I mean, performing live like that is tough. I mean, you got to be drop-dead gorgeous and have the sexy moves and the killer personality. I mean, plus you got to know how to handle yourself when the crowd gets rowdy. I mean, wow. I-I admire you. Do you know burlesque is huge again? Uh, anyway, sorry. I have total props for you.
Nikki: Thank you very much. I appreciate that.
Tessa: And now I get why you're not stuck up. I mean, you got a bit of a wild streak going on.
Nikki: Well, I suppose I used to, but, uh, that is long over. Happened before you were born.
Nikki: Excuse me.
Tessa: Do your thing.
Nick: Hey, mom.
Nikki: Hi, darling.
Nick: Is this a good time?
Nikki: Uh, come on in. I'm -- I'm meeting with somebody right now, but it's okay. Tessa, um, I want you to meet my son Nicholas.
Nick: Hi. Tessa. Uh, reed's guitar teacher.
Tessa: That I am.
Nick: It's nice to finally meet you. Uh, Noah, my son tells me you are quite the singer.
Tessa: Oh, well, if he wants to keep spreading the word, I'll give him 15%. [Chuckles]
Nikki: I just hired Tessa to be my assistant for the better days foundation gala.
Nick: That is a cool idea. Uh, listen, I really need to talk to you. I can come back later if you want.
Nikki: Tessa, there's coffee in the kitchen.
Tessa: Yeah. Nice to meet you.
Nikki: Does this concern your father?
Nick: Uh, actually, it's about Sharon and me.
Victoria: Heard from lily and Jordan?
Billy: They arrived in Philly on schedule. Shooting publicity stills all day. Lily has interviews in the afternoon, and then she's dropping the puck at a playoff game tonight.
Victoria: Good times.
Billy: So... reed told me that you returned the car.
Victoria: Yeah. Just dropped the keys off at dad's office. [Sniffs] I'm sure that my son hates me with a passion.
Billy: Well, he's confused. And he's not the only one.
Victoria: What part of not wanting my 16-year-old to have a brand-new car do you not understand?
Billy: I understand that this is about more than a damn car. This is about you and your father.
Victoria: I told you. I don't want to talk about that, Billy.
Billy: No, Victoria. You don't get to walk away until you tell me what is going on between you and Victor.
Ashley: Yeah, I'm in new York on business, so if you need those contracts, you're gonna have to go through my brother. Okay. Thanks so much. Bye-bye. Sorry. I would have let it go to voicemail, but it was very important.
Traci: No problem at all. I know you're very busy. Although slightly suspicious that you took the call to avoid talking about Ravi.
Ashley: Don't be silly.
Traci: [Laughs] I saw your face when I asked you if perhaps the relationship is more than just business.
Ashley: He has a little bit of a crush on me.
Traci: Well, of course he does. Any smart single man would.
Ashley: [Laughs] Yeah. Well, they're not exactly lining up outside my door.
Traci: Well, he's really cute. I would think that would be flattering.
Ashley: Yeah. Well, you know, I blew him off last night to, uh, have dinner with, um, Benjamin Hochman.
Traci: Oh. I know him socially. How did that go?
Ashley: Disaster. Turns out he's married to his phone. It was glued to his ear all night long.
Traci: Oh, that is so rude. I hate it when people do that.
Ashley: It's so rude. Anyway, I felt bad for blowing off Ravi, but he ended up hanging out with his college friends, and I'm sure they had much more fun than I did.
Traci: Well, let's just say that you're a little out of practice in that department.
Ashley: I know how to have fun just as much as the next person. [Laughs] Okay. All right. You could be right. My social life is non-existent, actually. Why is that?
Traci: [Laughs] Well, [Clears throat] I think that you've had a little trouble finding true happiness because our father was such an amazing role model of what a man ought to be, and I think that no one has lived up to him for you.
Nikki: Well, I'll miss seeing faith every day, but I guess it's better than pretending that everything is fine between Victor and me.
Nick: Kind of figured that.
Nikki: How did she take it?
Nick: She was a little thrown at first, but I think she's happy being with her parents again.
Nikki: It's the right place for her to be.
Nick: Yeah. I just came to get the rest of her stuff. The less time she spends with dad, the better.
Nikki: Yeah, for all of us, especially when he's goading you into throwing punches.
Nick: The second he went down, I regretted doing it. Mom, if I see him again...
Nikki: You know he's out of town. I don't know where he is or when he's coming back.
Nick: That's a relief for everyone.
Nikki: I think he probably felt unwelcome since he sent that ridiculously expensive car over to reed's birthday party.
Nick: He's just trying to buy his love from his grandson. I mean, he did the same thing to Noah when he turned 16. He bought him that expensive SUV. Despite Sharon and I repeatedly warning him not to.
Nikki: Your father seldom bases his decisions on what other people think.
Nick: It's gonna be very hard to keep what he did from the rest of the family -- from Abby and the kids.
Nikki: Yeah, but I think it'll be easier with him being away.
Nick: When he comes home, or if he does, are you gonna be okay here living with him?
Nikki: Oh, I plan to avoid him at all costs. I have a lot of projects to keep me busy.
Nick: Like Tessa?
Nikki: What does that mean?
Nick: I don't know, mom. I mean, do you even know this girl? You hired her to be your personal assistant. I'll be up in faith's room. I won't be long.
Zoey: Hey, there. Am I early? I figured your hot, new wheels would be out front ready to go to school. [Chuckles]
Reed: Yeah, my hot, new wheels are gone.
Reed: My mom took it away.
Reed: Who knows? It's kind of crazy. I'm starting to think that it has nothing to do with me, actually. Aside from the fact that I still have to walk everywhere and ride my bike like some kid who doesn't have a license.
Zoey: This sucks so much. She really is a witch.
Reed: I really hope you don't hold it against me.
Zoey: Reed, it's fine.
Reed: You're really not upset?
Zoey: You wanted to do nice things for me. That's all that matters.
Zoey: Why don't we cut today, hang out here instead of going to school?
Reed: Um, yeah. That'd be awesome.
Zoey: You don't have any quizzes or anything, do you?
Reed: No, and I could use the time to come up with an explanation for where my car went.
Zoey: I'll help. And in between, we'll have fun.
Reed: You and music are the only good things in my life right now.
Victoria: If you don't let me get on with my work, I'm gonna call security and I'm gonna have you removed.
Billy: What are you talking about?
Victoria: You heard me!
Billy: You're gonna kick me out of the house. Now you're gonna throw me out of the office? Look, I felt like the wall was slowly coming down between us. Was I just imagining that, Vick?
Victoria: If I sent the wrong signals, I'm sorry.
Billy: No, no, no. The night that you found out that Adam was murdered, that's the night that everything changed. So what is it? Did Victor order you to stay away from me? Is he trying to control your life so he doesn't lose another one of his kids?
Victoria: Oh, come on. Don't be ridiculous.
Billy: Well, then just tell me what is happening!
Victoria: Damn it, Billy! Stop with the third degree!
Billy: If your father needs you while he's grieving, I won't get in the way of that, Vick. I told you I don't want to hurt you again.
Victoria: Look, enough, all right?! When are you gonna get it through your thick skull that I don't want to be involved with you romantically? After all the times you betrayed me, I'd be insane to go there again.
Zoey: I was reading about this actress that got emancipated from her parents. She's only 16, but she's legally an adult, even has her own apartment.
Reed: No way. What -- how do you even do that?
Zoey: She took her parents to court because they were stealing money that she made on her TV show. Judge agreed they were wrecking her life.
Reed: Well, I don't know if my mom not letting me get a car is quite the same thing.
Zoey: Uh, it kind of is. She stole something valuable that belonged to you.
Reed: Well, she didn't steal it. She just returned it. And, I mean, it's not like I never want to see her again. I just want her to stop nuking all my joy. Are you watching this?
Zoey: Not really.
[Television shuts off]
Zoey: Too bad your folks aren't more like mine.
Reed: How so?
Zoey: As long as I get decent grades, they let me do whatever I want.
Zoey: Mm-hmm. Yeah. I can do whatever. Sometimes they even go away for the weekend and I have the house to myself.
Reed: You're kidding me.
Reed: Man, if Kendall's uncle likes my music and winds up giving me a record deal, I could end up on tour where my mom won't be watching over me all the time.
Zoey: Kendall's always going on about her uncle, like he's a God or something.
Reed: I mean, I'd be making enough money to buy whatever I want. It'd be amazing.
Zoey: In the meantime, we'll have fun right here.
Nikki: So, I will set up a time with you in the next few days. We can get together, and I'll give you more notes, and you can ask me questions.
Nikki: Tessa? What is it?
Tessa: You've given me two jobs and welcomed me into your family. I'm just not used to people being so...you know, uh... trusting.
Nikki: Well, I think I'm a good judge of people, and I've been watching you with reed, and I like what I see.
Tessa: Thanks. Uh, I appreciate that. I like you, too. Uh, your husband, though... is he cool with me doing this?
Nikki: Why do you ask?
Tessa: I shouldn't be saying this.
Nikki: No, no. Please speak freely.
Tessa: It was just the first time I met him at reed's lesson, you're so down to earth, and he seemed so...
Nikki: Well, you don't have to worry about him for a while because he's out of town. There you go.
Tessa: Thanks. Uh, I should take off.
Nikki: Looking forward to working with you.
Tessa: Same here. And thanks again. Mrs. Newman, are you okay?
Nikki: Um... actually, no, I'm not, but I will be.
Scott: Hey. How are you?
Sharon: Hey. Perfect timing.
Sharon: Yeah, I was just organizing my notes to write another paper, and I might need your help, I mean, if you're not too busy. I don't want to take advantage.
Scott: No, I'm happy to assist.
Sharon: Okay, well, I feel a lot better just knowing that.
Scott: You're in a good mood today.
Sharon: Yeah, my ex-husband stopped by to tell me that we'll be sharing custody of our daughter again. She's been staying at her grandparents' the last few months, but now she's coming home.
Scott: And by grandparents, you mean Victor and Nikki.
Sharon: I'm not sure how much nick told you about faith.
Scott: Besides her being the most brilliant child the world has ever known?
Sharon: [Chuckles] Uh, well, I'd have to agree with that, yeah.
Scott: So what are you gonna do to celebrate?
Sharon: I don't know. I haven't thought about it. Maybe I'll take her out for ice cream.
Scott: No, no, no. I meant what are you gonna do for yourself? Thank you.
Sharon: Just having my daughter home is enough for me.
Scott: Well, tell me if I'm out of line here, but you seem to have this habit of, uh, putting your own happiness last. You're all about your kids, trying to work harder in class, or putting more hours here at work.
Sharon: A fair observation.
Scott: If the last few months have taught me anything, it's life's short and unpredictable, and you need to make sure to, you know, soak up every last drop of enjoyment, live life for yourself.
Sharon: Is that what you do?
Scott: Yeah, I'll be lying if I said yes. I, uh, I'm also guilty of working too hard. So...here goes nothing. Are you free tonight?
Sharon: Uh...f-for what?
Scott: Say yes and, uh, you'll find out.
Phyllis: Whoa. Should I hide?
Billy: Wouldn't hurt.
Phyllis: Breathe. Hey. Last time we were here, you were the friend I needed, so I'd like to return the favor.
Billy: Well, I appreciate that, but I'll take a rain check. Thank you very much.
Phyllis: Did you get in trouble with Victoria?
Billy: She's jerking me around. I just feel like I'm constantly being jerked around lately.
Billy: Come on, Phyllis. You don't want to hear about my love life or lack thereof.
Phyllis: Obviously you need to vent. Believe it or not, I woke up this morning wanting somebody to vent to me.
Billy: [Chuckles] Somehow I doubt that.
Phyllis: Well, try me.
Billy: It's like one minute I feel like she wants me in her life, and then the next she's ordering me to stay out of it, and I can't keep up.
Phyllis: What are you talking about? The last -- last I saw, you two were getting back together.
Billy: Yeah, well, that's not happening.
Phyllis: I'm sorry things aren't working out the way you wanted.
Billy: I mean, I don't even know what that means anymore.
Phyllis: Did you ask Victoria what changed?
Billy: Yeah, of course. Every time I ask her, she just shuts me down. Ever since she found out that Adam was murdered, it's like she's a different person.
Phyllis: Finding out Chloe murdered her brother and tried to cover it up, she's still got to be in massive shock. I mean, maybe she's freaking out more than you realize.
Billy: Yeah. Maybe.
Phyllis: You think there's something more to it?
Billy: Lately she's treating me like something that she would find on the bottom of her shoe.
Phyllis: That's not that bad.
Billy: She threatened to have security throw me out of the office if I didn't leave her alone.
Phyllis: Correction -- that's pretty bad.
Billy: Yeah. According to Victoria, I've deluded myself into thinking that she might be interested in me again. She's so hot and cold that I don't even know where I stand anymore, and it's just -- it's [Sighs] Frustrating.
Phyllis: I know it's tough. And I'm very proud of you for letting go.
Phyllis: Do not waste your precious time on people who aren't sure if they want what you have to offer.
Billy: Thank you. I needed to hear that from you.
Phyllis: No charge.
Billy: [Sighs] Uh, take care, I guess.
Nick: Hey, mom.
Nick: Oh, geez.
Nikki: Oh, Nicholas.
Nick: Sorry. Sorry. I didn't mean to startle you.
Nikki: It's okay. Listen, please tell faith that she's welcome to come by to visit any time.
Nick: Will do. Are you having second thoughts about dad?
Nikki: Not at all. He is out of my life.
Nick: Okay. Well, you know I'm just a phone call away, right?
Nikki: I know, sweetheart. Thank you.
Nick: Love you, mom.
Nikki: Love you.
Nikki: Oh, Victor.
Victor: Do you like it?
Nikki: I-I adore it.
Victor: You do?
Nikki: But I still don't understand why this couldn't wait till the 25th.
Victor: It's for our trip.
Nikki: What trip?
Victor: The trip you and I will take. The jet is ready. And all you have to do is pick the destination.
Nikki: Have I told you how much I like this new Victor?
Victor: Tell me again.
Nikki: I like him.
Victor: You do?
Nikki: A lot. [Sobs]
Ashley: Thank you so much.
Traci: Thank you.
Ashley: Sure. I wish I could hear dad's advice now.
Traci: Well, I think I know what he would say.
Traci: Don't be so afraid. It's time to live a little. You know, take some chances. Break a few rules. Ashley, you have played by the rules your entire life. Maybe it's time to change things up.
Ashley: What kind of rules do you think I should break?
Traci: Well, for starters, I think you should go on a date with Ravi. A proper date. You do like him, right?
Ashley: What's not to like? He's very sweet, he's very talented, super smart, he's cute, he's funny, he's... you know, he's just the whole package. He's very... he's a very nice person.
Traci: You're making me want to go out with him. [Laughs]
Ashley: Well, I did invite him to the met tonight.
Traci: Wait, what?
Traci: [Laughs] When did you start going to the opera?
Ashley: Well, Ravi inspired me to appreciate the beauty in it, and that certainly wouldn't have happened on my own.
Traci: Okay, a man that can do that is worth pursuing. Ashley, you have spent your whole life worrying about what other people think. Shrug it off. Live a little.
Ashley: Are you giving me your permission?
Traci: You don't need it! You don't need mine or anybody else's! Go! Be happy!
Traci: Rejoice in the world, and have a wonderful time with Ravi tonight.
Nick: Ooh. Rough morning?
Victoria: Oh, gosh. I screwed up so bad with Billy. You know, keeping this secret is killing me, nick.
Nick: Yeah. Tell me about it. What happened?
Victoria: He can tell that something's wrong. And he just won't leave it alone. I totally lost it with him, nick. And he looked at me like he didn't even know me. I pushed him away, and I hate myself for it. You know, I'm -- I'm ruining everything because of dad and his lies.
Nick: I moved faith home last night 'cause I didn't want her living under the same roof as him.
Victoria: I'm surprised he didn't barricade the door.
Nick: Well, he knows not to mess with me right now. He just has way too much influence on her.
Victoria: And reed. And Abby. Gosh, he's got her snowed. I just came from the office. I was dropping off the keys to reed's car, which we are not accepting, and Abby was there practically crowing because dad left her as acting C.E.O. While he's off somewhere licking his wounds.
Nick: Yeah, mom told me he split town.
Victoria: I don't suppose he told her what his plans were.
Nick: Didn't say a word to either one of us.
Victoria: Yeah, supposedly Abby doesn't know, either.
Nick: Why would he leave Abby in charge of Newman without her having a way to get a hold of him?
Victoria: It's not the first time he's pulled something like that.
Nick: All right, so what are you gonna do about Billy?
Victoria: Apologize. Grovel. Whatever it takes to make it up to him.
Billy: You're missing something.
Phyllis: [Laughs] I was looking all over for this. I was worried I lost it.
Billy: Yeah. Can't live without a phone nowadays.
Phyllis: Oh, definitely.
Billy: See you later.
Phyllis: Hey. You got someplace to be? You want some coffee? I could use the break.
Billy: Sure. [Sighs] You working from home today?
Phyllis: Yes. Less distractions.
Billy: Yeah, maybe I should try that.
Phyllis: Oh, I don't know. I think you'd go mad. You love the energy being around people, running to meetings, the phones. I don't think you could handle the quiet.
Billy: You think I need to be part of the action, huh?
Phyllis: Yeah. Well, it was pretty exciting when we were together, wasn't it?
Billy: I could use a little bit less of that right about now. Be nice to have something a little more consistent.
Phyllis: Yeah. I know what you mean. My life hasn't been a straight line, either, lately.
Billy: Maybe I should let you get back to work.
Phyllis: Yeah. Thank you. Definitely can't live without a phone.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Nikki: Is that what you want?
Victoria: Yes. I want Billy back.
