Episode # 11145 ~ Nick uncovers Victor's shocking secret; Chelsea makes a desperate plea; Chloe's life changes forever.

Provided By Suzanne

Chloe: Finally! Where've you been? I've been waiting forever.

Victor: Just get in here.

[Door closes]

Chloe: Okay, let go!

Victor: What's the meaning of this?

Chloe: You weren't followed, were you?

Victor: Why are you dressed like this?

Chloe: You want to play 20 questions or you want to finally get rid of me?

Victor: All right, let's hear it.

Chloe: Your plane is right outside that door. All you need to do is call a pilot. I get on that plane. You never see my face ever again. I'm talking about forever. But you need to make that happen. Now.

Mariah: Okay, decision time. Chloe murdered Adam. Do I post something on the GC buzz website tonight? Do I tape a segment and have it air in the morning? Or do I do nothing? What do you think?

Devon: I think I'm gonna stay out of this.

Mariah: Chicken. But no, I get it. You want to avoid Hilary's wrath. Scott is right about one thing, though. Research. I'm gonna grab my laptop and see what we have on Adam.

Devon: Sounds good. I'll be playing foosball.

Mariah: [Laughs]

Hilary: Devon? What are you doing here?

Michael: You need anything? You were outside with Paul for a while.

Kevin: I just wanted to listen to him place the call into the station, make sure that the officers knew that Chloe wasn't to be taken with force.

Michael: Paul's a man of his word. He'll make sure nothing happens to her.

Kevin: She's not well. She needs help.

Michael: Yes, she does. And I think it's admirable that you still want to take care of her after everything that happened tonight.

Kevin: I love her.

Michael: I know, but I don't want that to blind you.

Kevin: Hmm. What does that mean?

Michael: I don't want you clinging to some hope that all of this is somehow a mistake. The evidence is overwhelming, don't you think? I need you to say that you know Chloe is guilty. She killed Adam.

[Cell phone rings]

Nick: Hey.

Chelsea: [Sobbing] You were right. Chloe did it. She blew up the cabin. I confronted her about it, and she knocked me out.

Nick: What?

Chelsea: Yeah, and then she took off. She left her own wedding. Nobody knows where she is.

Nick: Chloe knocked you out? Chelsea, are you okay? Do you need to get to the hospital?

Chelsea: It's not that bad. I'm really sorry. I should have listened to you. You tried to warn me that she was dangerous.

Nick: Don't worry about that right now. The important thing is that you're okay.

Chelsea: No, the important thing is that she doesn't get away.

Nick: Did you call the police?

Chelsea: Yeah. Paul took my statement, and he has every available officer looking for her, but she has her car. She's got a head start. So who knows where she is by now or how far she's gotten.

Chloe: Wait. Where are you going?

Victor: Whatever you are up to, I don't want any part of it. You got it?

Chloe: You're not leaving without helping me.

Victor: Watch me!

Chloe: You know, I am not playing! You walk out that door, I will send you back to prison!

Nick: How did you figure this all out?

Chelsea: I found Adam's wedding ring in her drawer, in her room. She was -- she was keeping it like some sort of trophy. She is more disturbed than you even thought.

Nick: So you confronted her before the wedding?

Chelsea: No, it was all happening so fast. Then I decided I wanted to do it at the house, you know, so everybody there could see what kind of a person she was. So I switched Kevin's ring for Adam's. So when she went to put the ring on Kevin's finger, she saw that it was Adam's and she completely froze. She ran upstairs, and I confronted her about all of it. About the ring, about the dart gun, everything. She tried to convince me that Adam being dead was best for everybody. She confessed. She said... "I blew up the cabin. I wanted him to die."

Nick: Okay, did she say anything else? I need to know if she was working with somebody else.

Victor: Don't make idle threats, okay?

Chloe: If you don't help me, I am going to tell everyone about our little collaboration.

Victor: What have you done that makes you so damn desperate?

Chelsea: Chloe never mentioned an accomplice. Why? You think she had one?

Nick: I-I don't know. It just doesn't seem possible that she could pull this whole thing off by herself.

Chelsea: Oh, shoot. You know what? My battery's dying. Where are you?

Nick: Uh... I'm in the car.

Chelsea: I really need to see you. I'm at Sharon's now, but, um, I can head over to your house. How long till you get there?

Nick: [Sighs]

Lauren: Poor Kevin. I feel so badly for him.

Scott: He was so excited to be marrying Chloe again.

Lauren: I know. What a stroke of luck that Chelsea found that ring and the truth came out. 'Cause if not...

Scott: We'd have a psychopath in our family.

Lauren: I cannot believe that Chloe worked day by day, side by side with the woman she made a widow.

Scott: Her capacity to compartmentalize must be off the charts. I mean, she fooled everyone. Fascinating.

Lauren: What is?

Scott: I was just remembering a, uh, conversation I had with Chloe at underground. You know, we were dancing and --

Lauren: I'm sorry. Pause. Since when do you dance?

Scott: Mom, focus.

Lauren: [Chuckles] I'm sorry. Okay. You were saying?

Scott: Chloe was telling me how she took control of her life six months ago. You know, now I know exactly what she was talking about. She even had me twirl her around, and she said it like it was not a big deal. The whole time she was talking about premeditated murder.

Esther: Why are you harassing Kevin like that? Are you trying to line up witnesses to put on the stand when you prosecute my daughter?

Gloria: Back off, Esther.

Michael: All right. Uh, please, Gloria. Esther, that's not what I'm trying to do. If given the chance, I'm gonna represent Chloe.

Kevin: You are?

Michael: Of course I am. Chloe needs to be in a treatment center where she can get help, not in a prison.

Kevin: That means she's gonna have to plead insanity.

Esther: But we haven't even heard her side of the story yet.

Kevin: Michael's right. We need to stop making excuses and stop pretending that this is some kind of misunderstanding. It's time to face the truth. Chloe did this horrible thing.

Michael: Come here.

Esther: [Sobs]

Devon: Mariah and I were out, and she needed to stop by, so I just tagged along.

Hilary: Hold up. Roz and Theo we're talking about Kevin fisher's wedding. That was today, wasn't it? And Mariah couldn't miss her -- what? -- Friend, crush, ex-lover's big day? You were her date to a wedding. Which means it must be getting serious.

Devon: Is that a problem?

Hilary: Not to me.

Devon: Well, that's good.

Hilary: So, how was the ceremony?

Mariah: I downloaded all the files, but I still haven't decided to do with that bombshell that Chelsea Dr... Hilary, hi. I didn't see your car here.

Hilary: Well, it's getting detailed. You know how much I love details. So, why don't you give me some?

Mariah: About what?

Hilary: Chelsea's bombshell.

Mariah: Oh, no, you know, that was just, uh, that was a misunderstanding.

Hilary: Adam Newman?

Mariah: It's nothing. I mean, really, really. It's nothing.

Hilary: You skipped out on cake and doing the chicken dance at Kevin's reception. You expect me to believe that it was for nothing? You're hiding something from me. And you're helping her.

Esther: [Sobs]

Gloria: You know, as mothers, we want to -- we need to believe that our children are good and kind and loving. Sometimes they make very poor choices. And it breaks our hearts. But that doesn't mean we give up on them, that we stop loving them. No, it's quite the opposite. We grab them by the shoulders and we shake them until they come to their senses. There are times when we have to make difficult decisions on their behalf. And they may hate us for it. But deep down, we know it's for their own good. This is one of those times, honey. Chloe needs psychiatric help. And you may have to make that decision for her. But first, you have to come to terms with what Chloe's done.

Esther: Your brother is just trying to use his lawyer tricks to get you to change your mind. Please, please, as long as you believe that my Chloe is innocent, I can, too.

Kevin: I'm sorry, Esther.

Esther: Chelsea just wants to blame someone!

Kevin: What about the evidence that nick found? And Adam's ring? The only explanation for that is that Chloe was there to take it from him. And this, her letter, "I have to leave. I'm in trouble. I don't want you dragged into my mess."

Esther: Can I see it?

Kevin: Look.

Esther: [Sobbing] Oh, God. Oh, my poor baby!

Gloria: Shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh, shh. It's a shame that Chloe couldn't see past her hatred for Adam. She would see a roomful of people who believed in her.

Kevin: We are gonna have to try and find a way to get through this. Bella.

Esther: Oh, hi, honey.

Kevin: Hi.

Bella: Where's mommy?

Nick: You know, there's probably gonna be a lot of traffic. I don't know how long it'll take me to get there.

Chelsea: Sorry. I just -- I just really need your arms wrapped around me right now.

Nick: Chelsea, I promise you I will get there as fast as I can.

Chelsea: Your family. They -- they don't even know. Should I go to the main house?

Nick: No, no, no. Don't do that. I'll take care of it.

Chelsea: Okay. Um, do you know how --

Nick: I can't hear you. You're breaking up.

Chelsea: Really? I hear you just fine.

Nick: I'll call you back!

Chelsea: Are you there?

Chloe: Victor, just make the call.

Victor: Not until you give me answers.

Chloe: I can't go back there, okay? It's really not that hard to understand.

Victor: Back where? The mental institution?

Chloe: Yeah! The doctors, the -- the meds, the patients! I mean, talking every single day, talking about my feelings, talking about Delia!

Victor: Will you stop babbling?! Does this have to do with what Adam did to your girl? Because if you have anything to do with Adam's death --

Chloe: It was an accident. You know that. Okay? You know it. The police know it. Stop stalling! Just make the call! [Breathing heavily] Fine! Look, I didn't want to panic you, but you're obviously not gonna do it. [Sighs] Chelsea busted me, okay? She knows. She found the evidence that I framed Adam. That evidence implicates you, too.

Victor: What evidence?

Kevin: You did such an amazing job with those flower petals earlier. Exactly like we practiced, right? But I have some sad news to tell you. There's not gonna be a wedding today. Mommy had to go away on a trip, and it was really last minute, which is why she didn't get to say goodbye to you. But she wanted me to tell you that she loves you so much.

Bella: Yeah.

Kevin: Yeah, so much. You know that, right? [Sighs] I don't know when she's coming back. But Grandma Esther is gonna take such amazing care of you, and that means you get to stay here. And I bet that means that she is gonna let you pick out whichever room you want. And she is gonna spoil you. And can I tell you a secret? I'm gonna help her spoil you.

Bella: Yeah.

Kevin: Mm-hmm. That means ice cream whenever you want.

Michael: [Chuckles]

Kevin: And toys and fashion shows, tea parties whenever you want. Does that sound fun?

Bella: Yeah.

Kevin: I think so, too. It's gonna be okay.

Bella: Yeah.

Kevin: Yeah. We're all gonna be okay.

Bella: Yeah.

Kevin: Can I have a hug?

Chelsea: Nick sounded a little...distant on the phone. A little preoccupied.

Sharon: I know what you're thinking.

Chelsea: [Sighs] Last time I spoke to him, I was so furious. I-I told him to stay away from the wedding.

Sharon: He wasn't mad at you. He was on his way to the ceremony to be with you.

Chelsea: Yeah. I guess that's true.

Sharon: He was more frustrated with himself because he couldn't find the evidence to prove what Chloe did.

Chelsea: You know, when I found this in her drawer, not only was I shocked and betrayed and furious, but I was mostly embarrassed.

Sharon: What? Why?

Chelsea: I was so gullible. I actually let Chloe manipulate me into thinking that nick was the bad guy. [Scoffs] Well, now I can't wait to get on that stand and testify against her. I will be the first one. I want the world to know what a duplicitous, little witch that woman is.

Sharon: You can't let yourself get consumed with revenge. It may take some time, but there will be justice for Adam.

Chelsea: Oh, yeah. I'll make sure that there is justice for Adam. Starting tonight.

Sharon: Where are you going? Nick's on his way.

Chelsea: People need to know the truth. They need to know the truth about Chloe.

Sharon: What are you gonna do?

Mariah: The police are still looking for Chloe, and that's the whole story.

Hilary: Who else knows about this?

Devon: Just the wedding guests and the cops.

Hilary: Was press there?

Devon: Just family and friends.

Hilary: Great. Then we have an exclusive.

Mariah: Actually, Scott Grainger was there. He's --

Hilary: A world-class reporter. Fantastic.

Mariah: Well, he said that we should sit on the story until all the facts were revealed. Maybe he will, too.

Devon: I don't know. I still think that guy's trying to keep it all for himself.

Hilary: Why would he do that? I didn't think that he was working with a news outlet.

Devon: Well, he's writing Victor's biography.

Hilary: Oh, please tell me that you're joking.

Devon: No.

Hilary: Okay, we are gonna have to deal with that later. But right now, the bigger issue is you.

Mariah: Me?

Hilary: Yeah. You get a huge story like this. It falls in your lap, and you had no intention of telling me? [Scoffs] I thought you were a team player.

Mariah: I am! Which is why I'm here! But this story requires discretion and decency.

Hilary: Qualities I lack?

Devon: Hey. She was just gathering all the evidence, okay? She would have come to you eventually.

Hilary: No, she should have kept me informed from the jump. I'm the boss.

Devon: You saying things like that makes me regret ever giving you this show.

Victor: I said, "what evidence?"

Chloe: The diary.

Victor: Are you kidding me?

Chloe: I kept it, ironically. Since that's how we framed Adam. Clever, no?

Victor: How did Chelsea find it?

Chloe: I was getting ready for the wedding, and I needed to find something old, so I asked her to go into my desk and look for the handkerchief that Katherine gave to me, and when she opened up the drawer, the diary just fell onto the floor and it opened up to a page, and it had Adam's name in it, and she read a few sentences, and then she started asking me questions.

Victor: Were you idiotic enough to mention my name in that diary?

Chloe: Oh, I'd never do that. The entries were -- they were vague. I don't think that she figured them out. But she freaked out when I wouldn't answer her questions. She stormed out, and she threatened to call the cops. Now, if they come looking for me, they're gonna start asking me questions, and I don't know what's gonna start tumbling out of my mouth. I don't think that your family will like the idea of knowing that you framed your son. They'll hate you. But if I get onto that plane and if I disappear, then your reputation as the gentler, kinder Victor Newman, the man who throws the family parties and rescues kidnapped journalists remains intact. So it's your call. Literally. [Sighs deeply]

Michael: What you said to Bella, that was extraordinary.

Gloria: Certainly was. Put her mind at ease.

Kevin: Good.

Gloria: Michael, could you give us a little time alone, please?

Michael: I should stick around.

Kevin: You can go.

Michael: You sure?

Kevin: Mm-hmm.

Michael: I'll call you.

Kevin: Mm-hmm. If I hear from Paul, I'll let you know.

Michael: His mind's in a fragile state. You've managed to keep your opinions to yourself so far. Keep it that way.

Gloria: Bye, Michael.

Kevin: You don't have to say it. I know how stupid I was to get involved with Chloe again, so keep your comments about my runaway bride to yourself.

Gloria: I am so... so proud of you.

Sharon: Oh, I'll take care of that one. All right. You get the friends and tutor discount. Free. No charge.

Scott: You don't have to do that.

Sharon: I insist.

Scott: Well, then, in that case, uh, I insist that you share it with me.

Sharon: Hmm. Oh! My favorite. So... are you coming from the Chloe and Kevin, um, I don't know what we should call it?

Scott: A disaster. Yeah, you know what happened?

Sharon: Chelsea filled me in. I'm kind of worried about her. She's so angry.

Scott: When I left, Kevin was still in his denial stage. Couldn't believe that his fiancée was capable of murder.

Sharon: Nobody wanted to believe the worst.

Scott: Look, I'm not making excuses, but if you consider what Chloe's gone through, you know, after losing her daughter, I can't imagine what that would do to me.

Sharon: I can.

Mariah: This is my story. I'm gonna decide what to do with it.

Hilary: Well, this is my show, and I say we run with it immediately.

Devon: Hilary, you can't pull rank like that.

Hilary: With a story this big? You better believe I can.

Devon: We don't have all the facts yet.

Hilary: This isn't "bring your boyfriend to work" day. You stay! He goes! We have a story to prep!

Mariah: Hilary, you can't just ignore my concerns! We --

Chelsea: Hey! Hey! You guys, stop arguing about it. I want to go on camera. But it has to happen right now, and if that's a problem, I'll walk out that door and I'll find a reporter who can make it happen.

[Cell phone chimes]

Chloe: Is that the pilot? Is he ready?

Victor: Everything is a go. Now, you tell him the destination when you board the plane. I don't want to know. You got that?

Chloe: Okay. See you never.

Victor: It's the last interaction you and I will have. If our paths ever cross again, you will lose everything.

Chloe: I already have. I left Kevin. I left my mother. [Voice breaking] I left... I left my daughter. You can't take anything else from me.

Victor: Don't be so sure. Go. What are you doing here?

Nick: Is Chloe on the jet? How can you let her get away?

Scott: Cassie sounds like a remarkable young lady.

Sharon: She really was. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about her. Nick wanted to blame the accident on Phyllis' son and make him pay in the same way that Chloe wanted Adam to pay.

Scott: You know, it's interesting. Victor has to deal with the fact that what he thought was an accident wasn't. It's almost the complete opposite of what you had to live through.

Sharon: I don't know how he's gonna deal with it. Victor and Adam are... they're similar people.

Scott: That's exactly what Victor told me when I interviewed him.

Sharon: Well, it's true. You know, they both felt like the odds were stacked against them. And it made both of them work that much harder to prove themselves.

Scott: Who do you think they had to prove themselves to?

Sharon: Victor? To the world. And Adam? To his father. At first Adam, he didn't want to be known as a Newman. So he used his middle name and his adoptive father's last name.

Scott: He wanted to distance himself from Victor?

Sharon: Adam wanted to earn his place at Newman enterprises. He didn't want anyone to think he was there because of nepotism.

Scott: With your intimate knowledge of the family, you'd make an excellent source for the book. I'd love to get more of your perspective on a few things, that is if you don't mind me stopping by from time to time.

Sharon: Yeah, anytime.

Scott: Good. And to avoid any, uh, impropriety between author and source, I think I have to buy my own pastries. I wouldn't want anyone to think you were bribing me.

Sharon: Deal.

Scott: Cheers.

[Ice cubes clink]

Lauren: You're home.

Michael: Yeah. Gloria wanted some alone time with Kevin.

Lauren: Ah. Hmm.

Michael: Care to join me?

Lauren: [Chuckles] For sure. How's Kevin?

Michael: He's put on a brave face. But, uh, watching him try to explain to Bella why her mommy's not there and probably won't be coming back, that pretty much ratcheted up my stress level to about 12. Pretty guilty.

Lauren: Guilty?

Michael: When Kevin told me he was gonna propose, I tried to convince him to wait. When he said he wanted to get married right away, I had questions, but I didn't pursue them. I wanted to be supportive. I didn't want him to get upset. And look how well that turned out. If I had been more up front with my concerns, if I had pushed him to slow down --

Lauren: All right, sweetheart. We both know that Kevin wouldn't have listened. I even tried to warn him not to rush into that marriage, remember? You should not feel guilty. There is no one to blame here. Chloe is the one that duped everyone. No one could have seen this coming.

Michael: I should have.

Lauren: [Sighs]

Victor: Look, the nutcase ran out on her own wedding. What's the big deal?

Nick: You think that's what this is about?

Victor: She asked me for help. I gave it to her. End of story.

Nick: You really don't know, do you?

Victor: Know that?

Nick: Why would she go to you for help? Unless...

Victor: Unless what?

Kevin: Chloe was at the courthouse when Adam attacked the guard. But I know she was in town before that because mom saw her at Chelsea's for Connor's birthday party. Shortly after that, the real diary pages turned up. You kept saying it was the waitress. But it wasn't the waitress, was it? She was just a distraction. It was right in front of our face. It was Chloe. Chloe hated Adam. Adam never bought it that she forgave him. It was Chloe. Chloe's the one who helped you frame Adam.

Lauren: I don't want to hear about you feeling guilty anymore. There's only one person to blame for what happened today.

Michael: Chloe.

Lauren: That's right.

Michael: Well, I hope Paul can track her down.

Lauren: Yeah, me, too. Because Kevin and Chelsea really need closure.

Michael: Exactly. If she escapes, it will only cause more harm. I mean, I don't know if my little brother will ever allow himself to love again. I mean... to have someone in life who understands you, to... who comforts you, who forgives you. I'm lucky you're that person in my life.

Lauren: You're the sweetest. You're that in mine.

Michael: Love you.

Lauren: I love you, too, baby.

Gloria: What you went through today, being left at the altar, having to hear all those horrible things about the woman you love, it would send anybody to the looney bin.

Over the edge. But not you. You stayed strong. And you faced the truth about Chloe head on. And you gave so much comfort to that little girl. [Inhales deeply] Hmm. You are more her father than whoever her biological father is.

Kevin: [Voice breaking] That's not true. I'm not. I'm not her father. I woke up this morning, and I had a family. And now I'm all alone.

Gloria: Nonsense! You still have a family. And I will never, ever abandon you.

Mariah: Chelsea, are you sure that you want to do this? You could take some time, clear your head, maybe cool off a little. You don't want to do something that you're gonna regret.

Chelsea: A horrible person came into my life and pretended to be my best friend and then hurt me in the most unimaginable ways. My son is gonna grow up without his father, so the entire world deserves to know what kind of a person Chloe is and what she's done.

Hilary: Hey.

Chelsea: Hey.

Hilary: Did you happen to have a picture of Chloe on your phone? Something from your personal collection will be a lot more powerful than a stock photo.

Chelsea: I'm sure I do. Let me check.

Hilary: Okay. Did you find one?

Chelsea: Um, no, I -- no, I guess I don't have one. Can -- can we start?

Hilary: Yeah, absolutely. Hey, guys.

Mariah: Everybody ready?

Chelsea: [Sighs]

Mariah: Three, two, one.

Hilary: Our guest today is Chelsea Newman. She is here to reveal details that can only be described as an inconceivable tale of murder and betrayal. It involves her husband, Adam Newman, and her best friend and coworker, Chloe Mitchell. Chelsea, welcome. Please start from the beginning. Chelsea?

Chelsea: [Sighs] Chloe, please don't do this. Come home. Turn yourself in. We promise that... we promise we will take care of you. We know and we understand that you are not well. Just think about your family. [Voice breaking] Think about your daughter. [Sighs] Please just come home.

Nick: You brought a certified lunatic to town to help you teach Adam a lesson because he had the nerve to walk away from Newman!

Victor: Son, I'm not gonna stand here and rehash these old accusations, all right? I have a date with your mother.

Nick: Dad.

Victor: What?

Nick: You helped your son's killer escape. Chloe blew up that cabin. She murdered Adam.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Victoria: I guess what I'm saying is that I'm glad we are where we are right now.

Paul: I got some information tonight about Adam's death, and I thought you would want to know.

Victor: Why do you hate me so much, son? Why?
