Provided By Suzanne and Cristina

Christine: Okay, and maybe no news is good news, right? Maybe Dylan has met with Fisk and he infiltrated his circle quicker than we anticipated.

Paul: [Sighs] Yeah, maybe. I just hate this feeling I've got.

Christine: That's the father in you, not the cop.

Paul: Right. [Knocks frantically] Not now. I'm busy.

Kevin: You're not too busy for this.

Christine: What's going on?

Kevin: Update from Dylan. The meeting with Luther Fisk's number two is going down today.

Christine: Alex Dittmer.

Paul: Alright. Hold on. What kind of intel do we have on this guy?

Kevin: We don't have much.

Paul: Well, get some. Get as much as you can. You understand? I want to know what color socks this guy wears.

Kevin: They're in Miami, Paul, he might not be wearing -

Paul: Get to it.

Kevin: I'm on it.

Paul: Oh, boy. I just hope Dylan can convince Fisk.

Sharon: I need to talk to my husband. Right now.

[Telephone rings]

Dylan: Yeah, it's Derek. Start talking.

Victor: Whew. Sweetheart, can you help me get off this coat?

Nikki: Yeah.

Victor: Right there. Ow.

Nikki: Oh my God, are you ok?

Victor: Yeah, I'm ok.

Nikki: Well, what happened?

Victor: Well, it's just when I throw a left hook, it's an awkward position, and I re-injured something here.

Nikki: Oh, dear. Well, come and sit down.

Victor: Ok, my baby. Will you take care of it for me?

Nikki: Is it like last time?

Victor: Oh, right there.

Nikki: Oh, you must be in agony.

Victor: Just nice and gentle.

Nikki: I'm so sorry.

Victor: You know, I had one of the best mornings ever, until this damn thing happened.

Nikki: Mm. Do I even want to know what the other guy looks like?

Victor: Oh, this feels good.

Nick: Well good morning, sleepyhead. Or should I call you my snow nemesis?

Faith: [Giggles]

Nick: How'd you sleep?

Faith: Great.

Nick: Good to be back in your old bed?

Faith: Yes.

Nick: Yeah? Alright. So let's talk breakfast. What are you feeling?

Faith: Chocolate chip pancakes with extra chips.

Nick: Tall order. Tall. But I can do that. But let me just make sure I'm doing it right online.

Faith: That snowball fight last night was really fun.

Nick: Yeah, it was. Our checkers match was pretty cool, too.

Faith: And I won both.

Nick: For now. I'm already plotting my revenge, which I hope I get another shot at it, you know, pretty soon.

Faith: Me too.

Nick: Yeah? You up for some more father-daughter time?

Faith: Now that you and Mom aren't fighting as much.

Nick: Well, we heard you, kid, you know. No more putting you in the middle of all that nonsense. Ok?

Faith: Ok.

Nick: Alright, so. What do you want to do today?

Faith: We could build a snow fort.

Nick: Done.

Faith: [Giggles] And then hot chocolate at Crimson Lights?

Nick: Sounds great, you know, but both those things are not exactly competitive activities.

Faith: Oh, I'm pretty sure we can fix that.

Nick: [Chuckles] Honestly, Faith, you are like the coolest kid I've ever met. [Christian cries over monitor] And there's your brother. Again. He is like a human alarm clock.

Sharon: Oh. Great. Water. I feel so relaxed now.

Paul: Alright, Sharon.

Sharon: What, Paul?

Christine: No one can contact Dylan, not even you, and you know this.

Sharon: I just need to make sure he's ok. It's the not knowing that's killing me.

Paul: Well I would like moment-to-moment updates, too, but it doesn't work like that.

Sharon: But at least you have updates.

Paul: We cannot compromise the case.

Sharon: Here's the thing. I don't give a damn about the case. What I care about is my husband and his safety. So set a time, any time, day or night, whatever when I can talk to him.

Christine: That's just it. There is no safe time.

Sharon: I'm not looking for top-secret information, Christine. I just need to hear Dylan's voice.

Kevin: Sharon, Dylan's only communication through burner phones.

Sharon: You know about this? Seriously? Kevin? You trust him with my husband's life and you won't trust me.

Paul: Kevin works here. You don't.

Christine: He will keep it strictly confidential.

Sharon: Oh and I won't? Is that the deal?

Christine: Well, we know that you let it slip to Nikki that Dylan's on assignment.

Sharon: She spoke to you? She has such a big mouth.

Paul: She was worried about our son.

Sharon: Well, join the club!

Christine: Sharon, we can't risk anyone else finding out about this, for Dylan's sake. How do you not get that?

Sharon: You're treating me like I'm a threat to my own husband.

Paul: Because you could be.

Sharon: Stop shutting me out.

Paul: Ok, I would like to speak with her alone. Stop. I want a private conversation with my daughter-in-law.

Christine: Let's go.

Sharon: How novel -- You say you want to speak to someone, and they actually listen. You know I worry about him, Paul.

Paul: I know that. I understand your concern.

Sharon: So then why won't you help me?

Paul: It's not a matter of 'won't'. I can't.

Dylan: Yeah, I sound angry because I am angry. I don't like last minute changes. Who told you my meeting's been moved to the bar? Wait, you don't know? How could you not know? Well, then find the guy who left the note and ask him! Fine. Fine. Just have my Scotch waiting for me, ok? Rocks, top shelf.

Nick: Let's go downstairs! Yeah! Let's do that! Cereal? Seriously? What happened to the chocolate chip pancakes with the extra chips?

Faith: I know you're busy with Christian, so I thought this would just be easier.

Nick: Really? I mean, did you forget that I am the king of multitasking?

Faith: Um, no, you're not.

Nick: Alright maybe I'm not, but I could still make you pancakes. Seriously? I mean after  changed you. I just put you in a new diaper.

Faith: It's ok Dad. Really.. I have to get to school anyway.

Nick: Wha-- Are you sure?

Faith: Yeah.

Nick: Hmm. He Faith? Easier is not the goal here. You kids, you're my priority. And I intend to make that snow fort with you, very, very, very soon. Ok?

Faith: Ok.

Nick: I love you.

Faith: I love you, too.

Nick: And we all love you, too, even though he stinks. We'll be right back. Let's go!

Nikki: Well, I'm gonna go get some ice.

Victor: No, no, no, no, no. Come sit down. Don't go. I don't want you to go.

Nikki: Yeah, but you need ice.

Victor: I don't need ice.

Nikki: Are you sure?

Victor: Yeah.

Nikki: Well I'm happy to hear that you injured yourself at the boxing club and not some fist fight.

Victor: Yeah I gotta tell you, though. It felt good to be in the ring again. I go to do it more often.

Nikki. Well I'm glad you found time to do it, but please be careful in the future.

Victor: Yes, my baby.

Nikki: You need these arms, you know.

Victor: Oh, yes.

Nikki: Mmm.

Victor: You mean for things like this?

Nikki: Exactly.

Victor: Alright.

Nikki: It's still bothering you, isn't it?

Victor: What, the shoulder?

Nikki: No, no - what we were talking about last night.

Victor: Oh.

Nikki: That you were still searching for something to invest yourself in, not the company?

Victor: Maybe a few more rounds in the ring will knock some sense into me and I'll find out. Once you get your bell rung. You know, you see things clearly.

Nikki: Well I have every confidence that you will find what you're searching for. And speaking of that, I gotta get going.

Victor: Where are you going?

Nikki: Well, I have a search of my own. Not as life-changing as yours, but at least I know it won't give me a sore arm.

Nick: What's your screening process like? I assume you do thorough background checks and you know, have references for previous employers? Great and if I'm interested can I contact the references myself - like directly? Ok cool so this sounds great just let me tell you what I'm looking for. I need somebody obviously who's nurturing and loves children. You know, someone whose schedule is pretty flexible because mine is all over the place. Really? Yeah, so listen. I'm gonna have to call you back. No I was just assaulted by yogurt, so... Yeah I'm gonna call you back, and then we'll move forward. Ok. Thank you. Really, man? Here. Have more. Sure. I've got to be honest. You've got great aim. You think it's funny. I mean, you're lucky you're cute. Man!

[Knocks on door]

Nick: Ugh. Come in!

Nikki: Hello! Oh my goodness. What's going on here?

Nick: Uh, just a little something we like to call lunch.

Nikki: Uh-huh. Well, my timing is perfect. Seems that you could use an extra hand.

Nick: You think?

Nikki: Well I happened to bring a few with me. Come on in, ladies.

Victor: Thank you. Alrighty.

Abby: Hey, Dad.

Victor: Hi sweetheart.

Abby: Are you just getting into work right now?

Victor: Anything wrong with that?

Abby: Uh, no, but don't you have that big meeting with the Pittsfield development.

Victor: Well, yeah, but I got that covered, you know. I'm aware of all the components of the deal.

Abby: Okay, um, don't act like this is normal. Typically, you are the first one in this building and the last one to leave.

Victor: Sweetheart maybe I'm just...re-thinking things, you know? Just sort of redefining the line between work and family.

Abby: Ok, well what have you done with my father? I know you had talked about pulling back.

Victor: You didn't believe it, did you? Huh?

Abby: No one did. No.

Victor: I've been doing a lot of thinking. Ever since Adam's death, I have come to the conclusion that I no longer want to just bury my head in work. I want to spend more time with my family.

Abby: A change in priorities, taking time for yourself, for Nikki, to enjoy everything that you've earned. It's long overdue.

Victor:  Same to you. New year. Clean slate.

Abby: [Chuckles]

Victor: Tell me about your passion.

Abby: Well, Dad, I am way ahead of you.

Paul: I have every confidence he knows what's he's doing. He knows the risks going in, and he's not gonna take any unnecessary chances.

Sharon: Well, all that may be true. I don't see the harm in one short phone call.

Paul: No. It's too dangerous. You could jeopardize the entire mission.

Sharon: I don't even know where he is! Is he nearby? Is he in another country? If, God forbid, something did happen to him, how long would it take me to reach him?

Paul: I don't want you even thinking like that.

Sharon: But that is the way I'm thinking, ever since he left so you've got to give me something, Paul! Some sliver of hope, a location. Anything!

Paul: I can't. And I've explained why. The less you know, the better.

Sharon: So that's it?

Paul: Yeah, Sharon. That's it. I'm sorry.

Sharon: You are the one who encouraged Dylan to follow in your footsteps. My husband's in danger right now because of you, and if, God forbid something happens to him...it is on you.

[Women giggling]

Nick: I mean, you set up nanny interviews for me?

Nikki: Ann and Monica are wonderful candidates. I already did some preliminary screenings, so you don't have to worry about that.

Nick: That is not what I'm worried about. Don't you think you should have talked to me about this first? I mean, you hired people to help me raise my son.

Nikki: Hold on. Nobody has hired anybody. I just thought I'd move the process along.

Nick: Who says I even need a nanny?

Nikki: Son. Obviously you do.

Nick: [Sighs] I mean, first, you and Dad let faith live with you, you know? I mean, it's like you don't think I can handle my own life. Now you're hiring people for me?

Nikki: Faith moving into the main house -- that was her idea, not ours. And when it comes to parenting, you know what a good father I think you are. A lot of things have changed in your world, and there's no shame in admitting that you need a little help. Good grief.

Nick: Yeah, I knew that was there.

Nikki: Oh, you did, huh?

Nick: Yeah, um, I'm actually saving it for later.

Nikki: Oh. Mm.

Nick: Okay, you're right. I mean, I do need a nanny. I actually already started the process. I was just derailed.

Nikki: Hurricane yogurt, hmm?

Nick: Yeah. Something like that. So, Ann and Monica, huh? Is there one you're pulling for?

Nikki: Nope. It's completely your decision. Just watch them with your baby boy and see what you think.

Nick: All right. Thanks, Mom.

[Door slams]

Mariah: Hey, what's wrong?

Sharon: Nothing.

Mariah: Yeah, it really looks like nothing.

Sharon: Just worried about Dylan and this whole police officer thing.

Mariah: Well, what's wrong? You're freaked out. Sharon. You told faith that Dylan was working out of town. Is there more to the story? Is he in some kind of trouble?

Sharon: I don't know anything.

Mariah: What does that mean? What is it you don't know?

Sharon: I have no details. Nothing. He took a plane to get wherever he was going. He's on a case. But I have no idea where or what he's doing. Whatever it is, it's dangerous. I know that.

Mariah: Wait, wait. Is he on some kind of undercover operation?

Sharon: He's not allowed to have any contact with any of us.

Mariah: What? For how long?

Sharon: Until it's over. And no one knows how long that will be.

Paul: Hey.

Christine: Hi. How'd you handle it with Sharon?

Paul: She's terrified. I really can't blame her.

Christine: Okay, well, we have to get this under control. She can't come here in demanding information. This case is too volatile.

Paul: Yeah, I know that.

Christine: Does Sharon know?

Paul: You know, Chris, I did everything I could to explain it to her.

Christine: Paul, I get it. I know what it's like to be kept in the dark and then have the worst possible thoughts take over.

Paul: [Groans] Kevin, get in here.

Kevin: What's up?

Paul: You tell me.

Kevin: Um, he just said that the meeting was a go. And, before you ask, no word on Alex Dettmer yet.

Paul: Okay, the minute you hear anything at all, I want to know about it. Because if he works for Fisk, I'm sure he is just as ruthless.

[Cell phone chimes]

Dylan: Yeah, I'm waiting for somebody.

Dylan: Yeah. You know him?

Yeah. You're looking at her.

Abby: I found what I'm passionate about, and it's here. It's this company.

Victor: What do you mean? Newman enterprises?

Abby: Yes. Dad, I have been pouring my heart and soul into this company, and I am loving it.

Victor: I'll be damned.

Abby: [Chuckles]

Victor: My goodness. That makes me happy.

Abby: Well, I have learned from the best, and it's about time I prove myself to you.

Victor: You don't have to prove anything. I know how capable you are.

Abby: Of what I'm doing now, yes, but, Dad, I want to do so much more.

Victor: I have no doubt in my mind about that. And I'm looking forward to watch you follow me in my footsteps. What? What is it?

Abby: [Laughs] I -- I just didn't know you thought of me that way. I always thought it was just nick or Victoria or Adam...

Victor: My sweetheart, I always have. You have a knack for this, okay?

Abby: Dad, are you -- are you serious about pulling back?

Victor: Yeah. I am. Meaning you and I are opposite paths.

Abby: Well, we're at very different places in our lives. I'm just coming off a divorce, and I need something to ground me, something to give me purpose. And, Dad, look at what you've built. You've accomplished more than anyone ever thought was possible. Do you have any regrets? All the time that you put into Newman?

Victor: Hell, no. I'd do the whole thing all over again.

Abby: Well, that's all the encouragement I need. Dad, I want to take on more responsibility.

Victor: Okay. What do you want to do?

Abby: Well, could I maybe take on the Pittsfield meeting?

Victor: Well, uh... do you know all the angles of it, all the aspects of it? What's this?

Abby: I knew that you'd have your doubts, and instead of rattling off a bunch of stats, I wanted to give you my game plan in black and white.

Victor: You've done your homework. This is impressive.

Abby: I'm ready.

Victor: All right. It's yours.

Abby: You're gonna let me do the meeting, alone?

Victor: Just watch me walk out of here and enjoy the rest of the day.

Abby: Wait, you just got here.

Victor: Yeah, but look what you and I have accomplished already.

Abby: Okay. [Chuckles] Um... well, I will call the front desk and let them know --

Victor: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Not gonna happen in your office. If you do a C.E.O.-level deal, you have to do it in a C.E.O.-level office. So... would you take a seat?

Abby: [Chuckles] [Sighs]

Victor: You like it?

Abby: This feels momentous. [Chuckles] Dad, I promise I will not disappoint you.

Victor: I know you won't. I know you won't. But... it's not permanent yet, okay? Don't get too comfortable in it. All right?

Abby: Okay.

Victor: I adore you.

Abby: [Sighs] [Giggles]

Nick: My family tends to be in the spotlight a lot. Uh, this position demands your utmost discretion. Do you read tabloids?

Monica: Never.

Nick: Watch "GC buzz?"

Monica: Is that a television show? I'd never repeat anything, Mr. Newman, but I'll happily sign a non-disclosure agreement. And any secrets Christian tells me will remain strictly between us.

Nick: Well, he can be pretty loose-lipped.

[Christian cries]

Monica: Oh! Hey, Christian! [Giggles] Beep! Beep! Incoming! [Laughs]

Nick: He likes you.

Monica: He likes the car. What child doesn't, right? It was my favorite toy as a kid.

Nick: No way! Me, too! In fact, that car was mine when I was a kid.

Monica: Really? Mine was less racecar-y and more Polly pocket, but, overall, same idea.

Nick: Well, you know what, I think, uh...I think I've got everything I need. Thank you so much for stopping by, Monica.

Monica: Thank you.

Nick: All right, Ann! You are up!

Ann: Oh! I'm ready!

Nick: Thanks for coming.

Ann: Oh, my pleasure.

Nick: Let's have a seat here.

Ann: Okay.

Nick: Wow. These are some serious credentials.

Ann: Thank you.

Nick: You know what, let's just get right to it. What was your favorite toy when you were growing up?

Ann: Uh...

Dylan: Uh, did I miss a button, or something?

Alex: I wasn't expecting someone so good-looking.

Dylan: [Scoffs]

Alex: And you were expecting a guy -- the big, burly type, maybe?

Dylan: Hey, look, I'm not complaining. Whoa.

Alex: [Exhales sharply]

Dylan: You move quick.

Alex: It's Miami. So, tell me more about Derek young.

Dylan: Well, you've already done your homework on me, or, you know, you wouldn't be here.

Alex: True... but I like to know more about the people I work with. Why'd you get into this line, uh, this profession?

Dylan: Hmm, well, you know, I just, uh, grew tired of working a steady job. I just wanted more.

Alex: Family?

Dylan: No.

Alex: Wife? Fiancée? Significant other?

Dylan: No, nothing to tie me down. No, I like to travel the world. Take in the sights. Enjoy everything a new place has to offer. You know, local flavor. From my wine to women to parties... ...to product.

Alex: Sounds like a perfect life.

Dylan: Yeah, to me, it is.

Alex: So, about these women, do you find them, or do they find you?

Dylan: Sometimes, you know, we just, uh, kind of find each other.

Alex: [Scoffs]

Dylan: Just kind of happens that way.

Alex: You're good. [Chuckles]

Dylan: Good enough to meet Fisk?

Alex: Oh, it's too early for work talk.

Dylan: Whoa. Wait, wait. You got your questions. What about my questions? I need to know about your boss.

Alex: Really? That is way too boring. I'm in the mood to party. Starting with another round.

Dylan: Okay. Let's do it. [Exhales sharply]

Nick: You just had to circle back, didn't you?

Nikki: What did you think of the potential nannies?

Nick: Does my vote even count?

Nikki: Well, of course! It's your decision.

Nick: I really liked Monica.

Nikki: Oh, thank goodness.

Nick: I knew you had a favorite. What if I had picked Ann?

Nikki: But you didn't. This is fabulous. I'm gonna call Monica and see how soon she can start.

Nick: Don't worry about it. I already took care of it. You know, you had a very interesting way of doing it, but you really saved my butt, Mom.

Nikki: Any time, sweetheart. Any time.

Nick: Thanks, ma.

Nikki: Oh, say, um... have you heard from Dylan lately?

Nick: No. Why?

Nikki: Well, he's out of town on a case, and Sharon is supposed to let me know when he comes back.

Nick: But you don't trust her?

Nikki: Do you?

Sharon: What if something goes wrong? Dylan could be hurt, and I would have no idea.

Mariah: If anything happened, which it won't, Paul would let you know first thing.

Sharon: Well, maybe he can't. You know, maybe that's part of this stupid protocol. Damn this thing.

Mariah: Give it to me. Give it to me. Sharon, you have to calm down. You know Paul. If anything happened, he wouldn't keep it from you.

Sharon: Now every time the doorbell or the phone rings, I'm gonna be terrified.

Mariah: Just relax. Please.

Sharon: I just wanted to hear Dylan's voice. That's why I went down to the police station. Dylan hasn't been in the best place lately.

Mariah: What was Paul thinking? I mean, didn't he know? Why would he put Dylan on this case?

Sharon: Paul didn't put him on the case. Dylan volunteered. He was determined.

Mariah: Dylan volunteered?

Sharon: He needed to... get away from here. From reminders of sully... ...and, let's face it, me.

Mariah: I don't believe that for a second.

Sharon: I gave Paul hell for putting all this in motion. But the truth is... my husband's out there risking his life because of what my lies did to him.

[Cell phone rings]

Victor: The meeting over with already?

Abby: We didn't exactly see eye to eye.

Victor: This is a very important deal. It has got to go through.

Abby: I know, and it did, but we didn't get the price you were looking for. We got a better one! [Giggles] Dad, you should have seen them. I had them eating out of my hand.

Victor: I bet you did. So, is it a deal?

Abby: Yes. All that's left is for legal to write up the contracts.

Victor: Wow, this is excellent work!

Abby: Dad, sitting behind your desk in this chair, it gave me so much confidence. I-I can't even describe the feeling. Thank you so much for this opportunity.

Victor: You made me proud today, okay?

Abby: I love you, Dad.

Victor: I love you, too.

Victor: Hi, baby. Agh.

Nikki: Hey. How's the shoulder?

Victor: Oh, it's okay, as long as I don't move it too much. So, my sweet love, you know what I thought?

Nikki: Hmm?

Victor: You and I can go have lunch. Top of the tower, athletic club. You choose.

Nikki: Well, I thought you had an important meeting today.

Victor: Uh, Abby took care of it, masterfully.

Nikki: Really?

Victor: Yeah.

Nikki: Wow, look at you delegating, like you've done it your whole life.

Victor: That's right.

Nikki: And that you would trust Abby with something so important...

Victor: Yeah, well, don't think for one moment I didn't have a safety net in place, just in case, you know?

Nikki: Yeah, but she didn't need it. So you must be very proud.

Victor: Very proud of her. You know, when I think that, of all my children, that Abby would follow in my footsteps... it's still hard to believe, but she's rising to the occasion.

Nikki: With a little bit of help from her father.

Victor: Well, I just gave her some room to grow, that's all.

Nikki: Sometimes, easier said than done.

Victor: Yep. Baby, what's this mysterious errand you were on?

Nikki: Oh, um, it's really no big deal. Um...I brought some nanny contenders over to Nicholas.

Victor: Oh. And?

Nikki: I think he liked one.

Victor: Well, that's good. One less problem for him to deal with.

Nikki: Yeah. Now if only my other son would let me help him.

Victor: I know that situation with Dylan is really bothering you. And I don't like it. All you have to do is give me the word, and I'll start looking for him.

Dylan: Oh!

Alex: [Laughs] Doing business with you could be a lot of fun, Derek.

Dylan: Could be. I will say this -- I am glad "Alex" was not short for Alexander.

Alex: [Giggles]

[Cell phone chimes]

Alex: Oh. Let's get out of here.

Dylan: Want me to see Fisk?

Alex: No. We're going to a club. VIP all the way. How's that sound? Unless you want to take this party upstairs...

Dylan: You took the words right out of my mouth. Let's go upstairs.

Nikki: As much as I would like to say yes... Dylan will come home when his job is finished, and we'll sort all of this out. I'll just make him understand that I love him and Nicholas equally, and nothing can ever change that.

Victor: You have more love in you than anyone I know, and your sons are very lucky to have you.

Nikki: Just as your children are lucky to have you. Wow, wouldn't it be something if Abby were the one to seize the throne?

Victor: Of all people. That something? I'm glad I didn't build this whole damn thing for nothing.

Nikki: Nothing?

Victor: Yeah.

Nikki: Look at the life you provided for your children and their children. I mean, Newman is their legacy.

Victor: Yeah, but sometimes, I'm afraid an unwanted one. I mean, what the hell did I build all of this for if not for my children, you know?

Nikki: Well, they may not show it all the time... but they're very grateful. So am I.

Victor: I'm glad to hear that. But what?

Nikki: When you started talking about stepping back from the office and spending more time here, I just assumed it was due to your grieving over losing Adam and that once you healed, that it would be back to business as usual, but... I was wrong.

Victor: You were, weren't you?

Nikki: Have I told you how much I like this new Victor?

Victor: Tell me again.

Nikki: I like him.

Victor: You do?

Nikki: A lot. [Chuckles]

Nick: Thank you so much for starting on short notice.

Monica: Oh, I'm thrilled to have the job.

Nick: Yeah, I've just got a couple errands to run, and I really need to pick up my daughter from school, so...

Monica: Faith.

Nick: Mm-hmm.

Monica: But she doesn't live here now. She lives with your parents?

Nick: That's right. Good listener.

Monica: I try.

Nick: Um, okay, so, when he first wakes up, he's probably gonna want his milk right away. That is in the fridge. When he drinks his milk, he really likes to hold one of his little "lovey" things.

Monica: Got it.

Nick: Uh, here are all the emergency contact numbers. You know about the allergy, right?

Monica: No strawberries.

Nick: That's right. The changing table upstairs has everything you could ever possibly need. Uh, there's the sound machine, you know, when he wakes up --

Monica: Mr. Newman.

Nick: All right, first, you got to start calling me nick.

Monica: Nick. I can handle everything. Please don't worry.

Nick: Right. I mean, I'm only gonna be gone an hour. Like, an hour-and-a-half, tops. So, if he gets up, you know, and he's, like, a little cranky, or, you know, not happy, just, uh, you know, you can walk him to the window. He loves to see outside. All the trees and stuff, and...

Monica: You're one of those, huh? A helicopter parent.

Nick: No, that's not me, at all. Okay, maybe a little in the beginning, but right now, I'm golden.

Monica: Fair enough.

Nick: Uh, I just really want my son to be happy and safe, you know?

Monica: He will be. I'll make sure of it.

Nick: All right.

[Christian cries over monitor]

Nick: All right, looks like you are up. You can take this one.

Monica: I'd love to.

Nick: Thanks. [Sighs]

Monica: Hey, there! What's all the fuss, huh? [Shushing] Everything's okay. That's right! Aww! [Giggles]

Sharon: Wherever Dylan went, he couldn't bring this with him. And he definitely couldn't wear it.

Mariah: That doesn't necessarily mean anything bad.

Sharon: It means that he can't look down at his finger and be reminded of us. Our vows. Our marriage. Everything he stands to lose. God. He's out there on his own. I've got to do something.

Mariah: Sharon, there's nothing that you can do. Dylan is on an assignment. You have no choice but to sit tight and wait for him to come home.

Sharon: He couldn't even say the words. I begged him to promise me that he would come home, and he couldn't.

Mariah: Dylan will come home. You know that he will.

Sharon: Well, I want to believe that, but these alarm bells that are going off in my head, I can't just ignore them. Dylan could be in real trouble. I can't lose him, Mariah. I've lost so much. I just couldn't bear it.

Dylan: I've got this. You ready?

Alex: Sure. Come here.

Dylan: Yeah.

Alex: I... I brought a little something to spice things up.

Dylan: Yeah, not here. Let's go party.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Jack: Hello, you two. May I join you?

Christine: Maybe he felt that he didn't want to risk it.

Paul: Dylan would find a way.

Kevin: What if he's in serious trouble?
