Episode # 10799 ~ Nikki is stunned by Elise's confession; Nick & Sage turn to others for comfort; Victoria is skeptical of Billy's change of attitude.
Provided By Suzanne
Adam: Judge Moxley, I am looking for a way to redeem myself. I have absolutely no idea what my father has over you.
Nikki: I do. The judge here had an affair. Victor told me.
Elise: Did Victor also tell you it was with him?
Nikki: You had an affair with Victor?
Elise: Yes.
Nikki: When?
Elise: It was years ago, and, uh, my -- my children were young. Jay and I were very focused on our careers, and we -- we just hit a rough patch, and...
Nikki: So you turned to my husband.
Elise: Victor was a very good friend of mine at the time. I confided in him and --
Nikki: Yeah, yeah, yeah. One thing led to another. I know.
Elise: Well, let's just say he knew the right things to say. He offered advice and... comfort.
Nikki: So, in other words, he seduced you.
Jack: You decided to accept jabot's offer to help Newman enterprises? I didn't realize this was a surprise party.
Abby: How great is this? We're all gonna be working together.
Phyllis: If Victor is serious.
Victoria: Are you, dad?
Victor: I have to admit, I had my reservations when first the generous offer was extended. But upon further consideration...
Jack: Well, you're not the only one who's had a chance to think things over.
Phyllis: Jack.
Jack: We made a very generous offer. He turned us down. Why does he think the offer's still on the table?
Billy: It is.
Jack: Victor's made it very clear he doesn't need anyone's help.
Billy: Look, jabot and Newman are both under attack by paragon, so shouldn't we come together and try and help each other out?
Victor: Billy boy, I couldn't agree with you more. And I accept the offer in the spirit in which it was made.
Billy: Excellent.
Sage: What you got there?
Nick: Card for Katie.
Sage: Oh, yes. Her birthday party's today.
Nick: Yeah. Uh, Vick asked me if I wanted her to cancel it.
Sage: Well, I hope you said no. This is a big milestone for her.
Nick: Yeah. Uh, sage --
Sage: Nick, I don't want to take away from your sister's joy. This is a big day for her and Katie.
Nick: So, I was just gonna run by there and say hi if you want to come with me.
Sage: I can't, Nick. I can't.
Stitch: I told you I loved you when we were trapped together. And I said it again when I woke up here in the hospital. Now, maybe you've conveniently forgotten, but I can't. Abby deserves to know.
Ashley: Abby deserves to be happy. And you deserve to be happy. And, damn it, so do I, so please don't screw this up.
[Knock on door]
Dylan: Oh, hey, I didn't -- I didn't know you had a visitor.
Ashley: Oh, that's okay. I was just leaving.
Dylan: You sure?
Ashley: Yeah, I have to get to Katie's birthday party.
Dylan: Okay.
Ashley: I'll tell Abby that you're feeling better. Bye.
Dylan: Uh, what was all that about?
Stitch: Ashley and I were just talking, you know, about the fire and how grateful we were we both made it out alive.
Dylan: How'd you guys, uh, end up trapped together, anyway?
Stitch: We were making sure the kids got out safe. We were headed back to the ballroom, and then we got trapped.
Dylan: And then Abby ended up finding you? That's pretty lucky.
Stitch: Yeah, she saved us both. So, I hear a lot of other people made it out thanks to you.
Dylan: Well, you know what they say. Don't believe everything you hear.
Stitch: Yeah? How about what I see?
Dylan: What are you talking about?
Stitch: Uh, the footage of you being lowered from the chopper onto the roof has been all over the news. Even after Paul told you to shut down the operation, you kept going back to rescue people.
Dylan: [Sighs]
Stitch: That's pretty brave.
Dylan: Stitch, stop. We know 50 guys who would have done the same thing and have.
Stitch: You went the extra mile on this one, man.
Dylan: You know, that last trip inside, I was yelling your name.
Stitch: Oh, come on, man. I had the whole thing covered.
Dylan: [Chuckles] Yeah. Sure. You and Ashley just thought you'd hang out, warm your feet by the fire, and get to know each other?
Stitch: Something like that.
Dylan: Well, I had to see for myself that you're in one piece.
Stitch: Well, now that you have, shouldn't you, uh, shouldn't you be getting to your niece's birthday party?
Dylan: Well, I didn't come by just to check on you.
Stitch: Oh, all right. Here we go. What -- [Chuckles] Let's hear it. What do you want?
Dylan: [Chuckles]
Stitch: Huh? What is it? Free medical advice? Hit me up for a loan?
Dylan: No, neither. But I do need your help with something.
Sage: I'm sorry, Nick, I-I just can't do it.
Nick: It's okay. I get it. It's too soon. I already talked to Vick. She and Billy understand this is a very rough time for us, so...
Sage: I think it would mean a lot to your sister if you went.
Nick: I don't want to leave you alone.
Sage: I'm fine. Really. Faith's gonna be in school for a couple more hours. I'm probably just gonna lay down for a while.
Nick: Yeah, I know you didn't sleep well last night.
Sage: Did you? Nick, please go. I don't want you to miss out on a family celebration because of me.
Nick: Okay. I'll, uh... I'll just go for a little bit.
Sage: Yeah.
Nick: Just call me if you need anything, okay?
Sage: Definitely.
[Door closes]
[Sighs] Christian.
Abby: Katie really is a miracle baby. She's done the impossible.
Billy: And what's that? Scored more gifts than you did on your last birthday?
Abby: [Chuckles] No. She's brought peace to our two families.
Victoria: Well, I think that some of the credit goes to dad and Billy for accepting and believing that there's room in this town for two corporate powerhouses.
Jack: But is there room in the building for another team of executives and their staff?
Phyllis: We'll make room.
Abby: Mom, you made it. Hi.
Ashley: I did. What's going on? This sounds more like a board meeting than a birthday party.
Victor: Well, I just have accepted your brother's very generous offer to help with office space for Newman executives during this time of crisis.
Ashley: Excuse me?
Victor: You mean your brothers haven't told you about that?
Ashley: No, this is the first I've heard of it.
Victor: Huh.
Ashley: That's funny. Last time I checked, I was still C.E.O. Of jabot.
Chelsea: This is hardly a power play, Ashley.
Ashley: Really? Making a big decision like this without consulting the head of the company? What would you call it?
Jack: Billy tried to tell you about this.
Billy: Yeah, I did, ash, at the hospital, but you seemed really concerned about stitch, so I didn't think you'd mind if I went ahead and made the offer. I mean, you trusted me to make decisions before when you were in Europe, remember?
Victor: Oh, yeah, how could one possibly forget that time when you were buying up Newman assets after paragon drove down the price?
Phyllis: You know what? Let's not get off track. What's past is past. I mean, I think we should all take Billy's lead. Put the hurtful things we've done to one another behind us and look to the future.
Nikki: Why should I even believe you?
Elise: [Chuckles] Would I really be here admitting to all of this if it weren't true? I mean, it -- it is somewhat humiliating. Granted, the affair was years ago, but I knew it was gonna come back to haunt me.
Adam: Well, now it really has, hasn't it? My dear, old dad is blackmailing you, right? Either you reduce my sentence or he comes out and destroys your "honorable" reputation.
Elise: Well, that's what Victor thinks. But I would rather just deal honestly with the ugly fall-out than having to compromise everything I believe in.
Nikki: I'm afraid you don't have a choice.
Elise: What?
Nikki: You're gonna have to do what Victor wants.
Elise: I'm not going to compromise my integrity so this man can avoid paying for his crime.
Nikki: So, you'd have destroyed your family, your marriage, everything you have for nothing?
Elise: I have to live with that, because I can't live with the alternative.
Nikki: Well, that's very admirable. But Victor has thought this through. I suggest that you do the same.
Elise: Meaning?
Nikki: You and Victor have a lot in common. You both want to protect your family. Nothing is more important to Victor. And if Adam goes to prison --
Elise: I understand. He will go public with the affair.
Nikki: No, you don't understand. It wouldn't just be you affected. It would be your family, your children, your husband's job. Victor would run down everything in his path.
Adam: I've seen him do it.
Elise: You're wrong about one thing. Your husband and I have nothing in common.
[Door opens]
Nikki: Your father is playing the biggest trump card he has to keep you out of prison. What does he get out of the deal?
Adam: You know, ask him.
Nikki: I don't have to. I already know. Your soul.
Nick: Mom?
Nikki: Oh. My goodness, I-I didn't hear you come up. Hi.
Nick: You okay?
Nikki: Yeah, I'm fine. How are you doing?
Nick: I'm hanging in. You just getting here?
Nikki: Yeah, I-I had to stop and get a gift for Katie. I'm surprised to see you here.
Nick: [Sighing] Yeah, well, like you always say, never pass up a chance to celebrate good news, right?
Nikki: Right. I think it'll be good for you to spend time with your family. It always helps me get through difficult times.
Nick: It was hard to come, but, uh...
[Sighs] There's no place I'd rather be.
Nikki: I guess sage couldn't make it?
Nick: I didn't want to leave her alone, but she insisted. She practically shoved me out the door. She'd rather be alone right now than be with me.
Nikki: Honey, I'm so sorry.
Nick: You know, it's ironic. After Cassie died, I pushed Sharon away. I guess everyone has their own way of dealing with something like this.
[Baby crying]
Sage: Christian? Christian! W-where are you? Christian? I'm coming! Mommy's coming! [Grunts] Christian! Where's my baby?! [Gasps] [Sighs]
Nikki: Well, happy birthday, Katie.
Victoria: Thank you.
Nikki: This is for you, because turning 1 is a very special occasion.
Victoria: Wow. Thanks, mom.
Nikki: Hmm.
Victoria: That's nice.
Nick: I just have a card. Uh, I didn't have time to get a present yet, but I'm gonna get one.
Victoria: You didn't have to do that.
Nick: It's a big day, kiddo. You only turn 1 once.
Victoria: Thank you for coming.
Nick: Sorry sage couldn't make it.
Victoria: I understand.
Jack: When did "forgive and forget" become your motto?
Phyllis: Paragon is the nemesis of both Newman and jabot. I think it makes sense we join forces to defeat it.
Billy: Yeah, we have a better chance of saving our companies if we work together.
Phyllis: Yeah, and who knows where this mutual cooperation may lead? Maybe we'll be able to put this family feud behind us once and for all.
Victor: Yes. Who knows?
Victoria: I know how you feel about talking business at family gatherings, but this is a good thing.
Nick: Seems a little tense in there.
Victoria: Dad just accepted Billy's offer to move Newman executives into jabot offices.
Nick: Seriously?
Victoria: Yeah, he announced it just before you got here. And I think you should be very proud of dad. He's putting aside his own pride for the sake of family.
Nikki: Well, your father will do whatever it takes to help his family.
Stitch: I didn't really know dr. Neville that well, but it sounds like something he might do.
Dylan: Any idea where he is?
Stitch: [Scoffs] I haven't seen or heard from him since he got fired from memorial.
Dylan: Family, friends?
Stitch: Hey, like I said, I didn't know him that well. Look, I'm sorry, Mac. I wish I could do more to help. I'm going crazy sitting here in this bed.
Dylan: Well, at least you have a lot of guests. So, uh, you want to tell me what really was going on with you and Ashley?
Stitch: Eh, just, you know, disagreement about wedding plans. That's all.
Dylan: Really? It seemed -- seemed like more than that. You sure you're not holding back on your condition?
Stitch: Physically, I'm fine.
Dylan: Okay, hey, look, if you don't want to talk about it, it's good.
Stitch: Look, you know, you're the one person I can talk to.
Dylan: Okay.
Stitch: When Ashley and I were trapped together, we didn't, um, we didn't think we were gonna make it. We said some things to one another that neither of us thought would go past that room.
Dylan: Okay, what kind of things?
Stitch: I told Ashley I loved her.
Dylan: Do you?
Stitch: Hey, I proposed to Abby. I'm gonna marry her.
Dylan: You didn't answer the question. Do you love Ashley?
Stitch: You know, when I -- when I first met Ashley, I thought that -- that is a beautiful woman. Then she hired me in the lab at jabot, and... I found out she's -- she's brilliant, knows about art, music, the world. More time I spent with her, I came to appreciate how incredible she is, you know. When we were trapped in that fire together, all those feelings I had for her came pouring out.
Dylan: You know, people say a lot of things when they think they might die. You know that.
Stitch: That's what Ashley said when I told her I was gonna tell Abby what happened.
Dylan: But she didn't want you to?
Stitch: She wants what's best for Abby.
Dylan: Of course. So, what are you gonna do?
[Both chuckle]
Dylan: Oh, stitch. You know, you and me, we're a lot alike because we just want -- we want love to be, uh, simple and straightforward.
Stitch: Like the army.
Dylan: Yeah, like the army. You follow the rules and everything's good. But that's...that's not how life is. You know, it's messy, it's complicated. The rules are always changing. You think you're on the right path, then all of a sudden, you're not on the right path, and then you start doubting your own judgment because you want to commit but you're afraid things are gonna fail again.
Stitch: Things seem to be working out for you and Sharon.
Dylan: Yeah, it's because I shoved down all the doubt and fear and just went after what I wanted. It's what you got to do. You got to ask yourself, what do you want?
Stitch: To marry Abby and make all her wishes come true.
Abby: Wish for the man of your dreams. Everything else you can buy.
[Laughter]
Victoria: Why don't you help your sister blow out her candle since she's sleeping?
Billy: Yeah, and let mama help, too, 'cause it's her birthday also.
Nikki: That's right.
Victoria: [Chuckles] Go ahead. Blow it out.
Nikki: One, two, three, go.
Victor: Go!
Chelsea: Go, go, go!
[Laughter]
[Cheering]
Abby: Well, now that she's 1, I think it's time that I tell her the truth. You, Katie, are truly a princess. Well, an heiress. It's pretty much the same thing. But it tends to complicate things when you're looking for the man of your dreams. But all you have to do is kiss a lot of frogs, but then you will find your prince charming. And if you ever need advice, you can always come to your Aunt Abby. [Chuckles]
Chelsea: That's sweet. You're so good with them, Abby. Before you know it, you'll be, uh, changing diapers of -- of your own.
Abby: Oh, we're hiring someone for that.
Chelsea: [Chuckles] Do you and stitch want kids?
Abby: First things first. The wedding of the century, right, mom?
Ashley: Absolutely.
Abby: And speaking of Ben, I should go check on him.
Victoria: Yeah, I'm gonna put her down, I think.
Abby: Thank you.
Victor: You gonna take her in?
Victoria: Yeah.
Abby: Bye, Katie. [Chuckles] Bye, guys. It's good to see everyone. Bye, daddy.
Victor: Bye, sweetheart. I love you.
Abby: Can't wait for the next family get-together -- my wedding. Bye. Bye.
Nick: Dad.
Victor: Son. How are things?
Nick: Hanging in there.
Victor: Uh-huh. How's sage?
Nick: Uh, she's home resting. So, uh, what are the plans for rebuilding Newman?
Victor: Well, you shouldn't worry about that right now, my boy. You have a lot of things to think about, you know.
Nick: I'd really like to come back to work, though.
Victor: Sweetheart?
Nick: You know, dad, I could use something else to focus on right now, so...
Victor: Uh... let's talk about that another day, okay? Your mother just left.
Can I help you? Mrs. Newman. I didn't realize it was you.
Sage: I'm sorry. Do I know you?
I work in the NICU. I was on duty the night your son died. I'm so sorry.
Sage: Thank you. I don't want to keep you. Susan, right? Thanks.
Adam: Sage. Hey. They got me all tied up to the... what are you doing here?
Sage: Oh, I just came to the hospital to... [Scoffs] Doesn't matter. How you doing?
Adam: How am I doing? You know, I've survived worse. If anyone knows that, it's you. The good news is, you know, I won't have to trade this face in to stay out of jail this time. I get to keep this chin, so that's good.
Sage: 10 years, Adam. It's a long time to be away from your family.
Adam: It would be, wouldn't it?
Sage: What do you mean?
Adam: Well, sage, it looks like I won't be going to prison after all.
Sage: Wow.
Adam: Yeah.
Sage: Why do you look so sad?
Adam: 'Cause everything comes with a price.
[Door opens]
Abby: If you can't make it to the party, we'll bring the party to you.
Stitch: [Chuckles] Thank you.
Abby: I thought you might want something other than hospital food.
Stitch: How was the party?
Abby: It was good. It was good. Nick was there.
Stitch: Ooh. Must have been rough.
Abby: Yeah, you know, I tried not to ooh and aah over Katie too much in front of him, but, my gosh, Ben, she is so adorable. She's like this little person you can actually talk to now.
Stitch: That's what happens when they're 1. It's a fun age.
Abby: Yes, and, you know, I've never really thought of myself as the motherly type, but holding Katie today, it just felt so natural. You know, I thought maybe I might be a good mom -- with full-time help. [Chuckles]
Stitch: Of course. Right.
Abby: Not right away. I mean, first we have to get married and then do what newlyweds do for a few years, but then after that... you do want to have kids with me, don't you?
Victoria: Thanks for coming.
Nick: I told dad I was ready to come back to work.
Victoria: Good, 'cause we could use you.
Nick: Really? 'Cause you didn't seem too eager to have me.
Jack: Billy and I both tried to tell you.
Ashley: Well, you should have tried harder.
Jack: You'd just been through a perilous situation. You, Abby, and stitch barely made it out of that fire alive. You were spending all your time in the hospital making sure Ben was okay.
Ashley: And guess what? The danger's over. My full attention is on jabot and making sure it doesn't suffer from any more rash decisions made by you and Billy.
Victoria: That and planning your daughter's wedding.
Ashley: Right, but I can actually run a company and plan Abby's wedding, as well.
Jack: Ash.
Ashley: I got to get to the office.
Nick: I'm gonna take off, too.
Victoria: Okay. Goodbye. Thank you both for coming.
Ashley: Tell Billy and Phyllis I said goodbye.
Victoria: I will. Bye.
Jack: Where is Billy? Or Phyllis, for that matter?
Billy: Oh, we're right here. She was, uh, helping me get Johnny down.
Phyllis: I must say, I am a pro at putting kids down with too much sugar.
Billy: It was impressive. She got him right to sleep.
Phyllis: Honey, uh, I think we should go.
Jack: Uh, we will discuss how to deal with Ashley later.
Billy: Yeah, can't wait.
Jack: Happy birthday.
Victoria: Thank you. See you later.
Billy: See you.
Victoria: [Sighs] Well... we did it. I think, you know, other than that little hiccup with Ashley, I think it went really well, don't you? Katie had a great time. She's taking a power nap. And my dad accepted your offer of help. [Chuckles]
Billy: Yeah, you couldn't have asked for a better outcome.
Victor: I thought you and I were making progress. You ignore me at my granddaughter's birthday party? What's the matter with you? You leave without me without saying goodbye?
Nikki: I don't want to talk about it.
Victor: You better talk about it. What's bugging you?
Nikki: All right, you want to hear what's on my mind?
Victor: Yes.
Nikki: Your affair with Elise Moxley. everything, including how you're using the
Nikki: Elise told me everything, including how you're using the affair to blackmail her into releasing Adam.
Victor: Is that what has got you upset or are you jealous?
Nikki: Jealous? Are you kidding me? If I got jealous every time you slept with somebody, I would be permanently green by now. Tell me this. When did this little tryst happen?
Victor: Why are you getting so worked up about all this? You and I weren't even married at the time, when I got together with her.
Nikki: Okay. Well, then, who were you cheating on? Ashley?
Victor: She and I were separated. And you, by the way, were married to jack Abbott at the time.
Nikki: Well, she was married. She had a family. That didn't make you hesitate jumping into bed with her.
Victor: If anyone was cheating, she was cheating on her husband.
Nikki: [Scoffs] Of course, you would see it that way.
Victor: Of course, I would. Her marriage was in trouble. She turned to me. That's all.
Nikki: And you didn't hesitate to take advantage of her vulnerability or what it could do to her marriage. You didn't care.
Victor: I saved her marriage, for your information.
Ashley: I don't have time for this, jack.
Jack: You said you wanted us to keep you informed.
Ashley: Oh, great. You made more decisions behind my back?
Jack: I was thinking that we could offer Victor the third floor for the Newman executive team if you're okay with that.
Ashley: I'm not okay with any of it. For now, they can use the third floor offices.
Phyllis: I don't think you're gonna regret it, Ashley.
Ashley: I already do, Phyllis. And by the way, the first sign of Victor pulling anything, he's out of here.
Jack: Our security and IT. People are on full alert.
Ashley: And I wonder who we should be watching -- Victor or you and Billy.
Jack: I hope you're not serious. I would never do anything to harm jabot.
Ashley: Well, that's great to hear, because I don't want to have to clean up any more of your messes. And guess what? I still hate your surprises.
Stitch: I really haven't thought about having more kids, you know. I've kind of made a mess of things with max.
Abby: You're a good father to max. And you will be a great father to our kids. I know this seems like it's coming from out of the blue, and maybe it is. I've never really thought of myself as being the maternal type, but I don't know, silk blouses and spit-up? It doesn't really go together. And watching Victoria and Billy with Katie today, it just -- it made all the dry-cleaning bills seem worth it. [Chuckles] They're happy together. It all worked out.
Stitch: Always starts out that way.
Abby: Are you implying that Billy and Victoria aren't gonna last...or we aren't?
Nick: Just don't ask me how I'm doing, all right?
Dylan: Uh, how about, what can I get you?
Nick: Coffee.
Dylan: Coffee it is.
Nick: Thought I'd see you at Katie's party.
Dylan: Yeah, I went to see stitch. I'm gonna drop a gift off later. Kind of surprised you went.
Nick: [Sighs] Yeah, I went back and forth on it. Sage didn't want to go, and I didn't want to leave her alone, and she ended up insisting that I go without her.
Dylan: Maybe she needed some time by herself.
Nick: I thought being around family would help. It didn't.
Dylan: Don't take this the wrong way. But what are you doing here?
Nick: I can't go home.
Dylan: What do you mean? To your house?
Nick: To sage.
Sage: So, what's the going rate for staying out of prison?
Adam: Listen, I don't really want to talk about it. How are you doing?
Sage: Every morning since Christian died... I wake up... and for a second... I think that he's still with me, that Nick and I brought him home from the hospital and that he's in his bed and he's sleeping. And then it hits me. And I have to relive the pain all over again.
Adam: My god. Sage, I'm sorry. Did you tell Nick what you're going through? Did you share that with him?
Sage: I want to.
Adam: Yeah?
Sage: But... every time I start to share my feelings...
Adam: What?
Sage: I just want it to be over. I just want the pain to stop, you know, but...I just think it's never gonna happen.
Adam: You know, people talk about closure all the time. I hear these people. I don't understand what that means. I don't get it. I think it's a myth, because I've never been able to get over anything. Love, revenge, pain. I... I can't let go of anything.
Sage: You know, we really are very much alike, aren't we? [Chuckles]
Adam: You and me?
Sage: I guess that's why when things go wrong in my life, I end up... with you, because you got me through losing Gabe and losing Constance. And now, in my darkest hour, instead of being with Nick.
Adam: It would be, wouldn't it?
Sage: What do you mean?
When things go wrong in my life, I end up... with you, because you got me through losing Gabe and losing Constance. And now, in my darkest hour, instead of being with Nick... I'm here with you.
[Door opens]
Chelsea: I'm sorry I took so... oh. Am I interrupting something?
Abby: Do you think we're doomed to fail?
Stitch: No, it's just my track record makes me a little nervous, that's all.
Abby: Your track record? Uh-huh. Yeah. No, I've had more bad relationships than Taylor swift.
[Both chuckle]
Stitch: That's a good one.
Abby: That's behind me. My exes are in the past just like yours are. And this is our chance to get it right. No more busted romances or broken engagements. This is the real deal, dr. Rayburn. True love, marriage, kids. We're gonna have an amazing life together.
Stitch: You're right. We are. I love you.
Ashley: Oh, yes, I definitely see it. Sharp decrease. Has there been any other unusual activities in other areas of jabot, like operations or security? Well, yeah, please find out. I want to make sure that we get this under control A.S.A.P. Okay.
Stitch: I love you.
Ashley: Yes, I'm here. Right. Okay. I appreciate that. Let me know A.S.A.P. Thank you.
Phyllis: All right, now, I have another meeting to get to.
Jack: Hold on a second.
Phyllis: Oh, one last kiss.
Jack: No. One last question. Why are you so gung-ho about helping Victor get Newman back on its feet?
Phyllis: Honey, I'm a team player.
Jack: You hate Victor. You've told me you will never forgive him for letting Marco loose on our lives.
Phyllis: This is all true.
Jack: So what are you up to?
Phyllis: Righting a wrong.
Victoria: So, what's up with you and Phyllis? I know she wasn't helping you put Johnny down for a nap, so what were you guys doing upstairs?
Billy: What? Are you jealous?
Victoria: I am just suspicious of the two of you teaming up and suddenly you're my father's biggest supporters.
Billy: I'm just trying to, you know, build a bridge between our families, and you're giving me grief? A guy can't win around here.
Victoria: I thought the idea of jabot offering office space to Newman was a good idea, but I just --
Billy: It is a good idea. Look, both our companies and our families are under attack. We have a common enemy. We need to be on the same page.
Victoria: Why do I get the feeling that we're not and that you're up to something?
Billy: Come here. Come here. Look, the last thing that I want is another war with your old man. You need to trust me. Everything's gonna be fine. No, no, no. [Chuckles]
Nikki: Oh, so you saved Elise Moxley's marriage?
Victor: Uh-huh.
Nikki: How did you do that? By not telling her husband about the affair?
Victor: You're curious, aren't you? Let me tell you what happened. Judge Moxley and her husband didn't get along anymore. She left him. She didn't see any way to salvage their marriage. When she was with me, I urged her to go back to her husband because I told her that nothing is more important than family. She listened to my advice, went back to her husband. They've lived together ever since. So, my affair with her was a wake-up call.
Nikki: So, a meaningless affair turned into a fortuitous opportunity years later?
Victor: Yeah. I get to save my son from going to jail. And she has an intact family. I don't see anything wrong with that, do you?
Nikki: You wouldn't.
Nick: I can't seem to reach sage. When she's in the same room with me, I see her. I try talking to her. And she's just gone. I can't ever say the right thing.
Dylan: Well, there's, uh, never a right thing. I know you know that, but we spend so much energy trying to figure things out and find the right thing when really we just -- we just need to say something.
Nick: She's looking to me to fix this. I don't know how.
Dylan: She just needs you to be there. You know, she needs the father of her child to help her get through this.
Adam: I was just telling sage it's not uncommon for two people that have lost a child to find it hard to reconnect.
Chelsea: Yeah, it's all so fresh. You just have to give yourselves time.
Sage: Yeah. I'm sure you're right. I should go. Feel better.
Adam: Thank you. You, too.
Chelsea: Bye. Hmm.
Adam: "Hmm," what?
Chelsea: I don't know. I just got the feeling that something other than grief is what's keeping her from getting support from Nick. I just wonder what it could be.
Adam: I don't know.
I got him out of the hospital with no trouble. He's fine. Out of the incubator and doing well. He's a beautiful child. Aren't you, Christian? Aww.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Devon: What happened to her?!
Neil: I told you, didn't I? I told you not to push too hard!
Adam: What the hell are you doing here?
Topher: Shh! I had to see you. We have a problem, a big one.
Ashley: Paragon's back.
