Episode # 10729 ~ Chelsea is shocked to learn about Adam's life while he was away; Ashley comforts Stitch; Phyllis questions Marisa about her relationship with Jack.
Provided By Suzanne
Jack: I will not let him get near you again.
Phyllis: He is just as much of a danger to you as he is to me.
Jack: I have guards outside, at the office.
Phyllis: Do you think that's gonna stop him?
Jack: I don't think you or I have anything to worry about.
Phyllis: How can you say that?
Jack: The police, the FBI are looking for him. Victor has a team of people combing the city. Marco knows if he comes back here, nothing is waiting for him but a jail cell.
Phyllis: That's not the only thing that's waiting for him. Marisa is here.
Jack: Sweetheart, Marisa is not the enemy.
Phyllis: Are you sure about that?
Mariah: She is waiting for her dinner and sipping her wine.
Kevin: That could be a signal.
Mariah: Oh, yeah, I think you're right. She's signaling the waiter for a refill.
Kevin: Just let me know if she meets with anyone or uses her phone. I could triangulate that call and find out who she's talking to.
Mariah: What about on your end? Is Harding doing anything weird?
Kevin: He just brought in doughnuts for the squad room.
Mariah: Who eats doughnuts at this hour?
Kevin: Harding. The man likes a nice pastry day or night.
Mariah: So that's it? A doughnut run?
Kevin: Uh, that, a trip to the dry cleaner's, stopped at a sporting-goods store.
Mariah: [Scoffs] Guy does more personal stuff when he's on the job than you do.
Kevin: I got to run.
Stitch: Hit me again.
Ashley: I don't know about that.
Ashley: You and too much booze.
Stitch: Yeah? That a complaint?
Ashley: It's just a reminder not to do something stupid.
Stitch: Me not doing anything stupid. Now what?
Ashley: Well, I think that you should stop blaming yourself for things that aren't your fault. You lost a patient, but you're a doctor. So it's bound to happen, right?
Stitch: It's not the first time. This guy being a veteran --
Ashley: I know. I understand. It made it a little bit harder, right? But your friend, he was heading for a fall. And what you did, you gave him a soft place to land. That should make you feel good, not bad.
Stitch: It does.
Ashley: Good. Now, you go home. Get a good night's sleep. When you wake up in the morning, go ahead and mourn the life of the man you lost, but I just really hope you can find some way to celebrate all the lives of the people you've saved. Including mine. Okay, doc?
Abby: I'm back. What'd I miss?
[Knock on door]
Chelsea: What are you doing here?
Adam: I, uh, couldn't wait any longer for your answer.
Chelsea: Do you have any idea what time it is?
Adam: Uh...[Whistles] It's late, isn't it? Um, yeah, listen, uh, you said that you would -- you'd think about you, me, and Connor settling down here in Paris and starting over, right? I've given you pretty much the entire day. I couldn't wait any longer, so... did you make your decision?
Chelsea: Yes. I have.
Chelsea: I've thought about this a lot. Actually, it's all I've thought about since you left here yesterday.
Adam: What you come up with? What's your decision?
Adam: No? Okay, why? Even though you admit that you want to be with me.
Chelsea: Let me finish. Let me finish. You want me to move to Paris permanently to start a whole, new life with you and Connor.
Adam: Just hear me out. Listen to this, okay? We -- we could have an amazing life here, okay, without any regrets of -- of anything that we left behind, all right? The only thing that you have to do is just give us a chance, Chelsea.
Chelsea: Right. And that's what I intend to do.
Adam: I'm confused now, 'cause you said no and now you say you --
Chelsea: Well, no. I don't want to move to Paris permanently, but I'm willing to, you know, try to live out our dream here for a few days.
Adam: Few days?
Chelsea: Maybe even a week.
Adam: A whole week?
Adam: Week. Well, a week is a lot shorter than forever, which is sort of what I was -- what I was gunning for. I tell you what, that's probably enough time for me to convince you that this is a good idea, that we could be happy here, right? Yeah? Tell you what -- let's, uh, let's celebrate. Let's start with a celebration. I'll take you shopping, the Chantilly sale, those fancy shops. Actually, it's kind of late for that. They're probably closed. You know what? Top of the Eiffel tower, okay? An amazing view. It's romantic.
Chelsea: Adam, Adam. I don't want to act like a couple of tourists on holiday. If we're gonna make this work, we just have to be a normal family. That was always our dream, remember?
Adam: Yeah. Yeah, of course. No, we were gonna, uh, we were gonna settle down here, raise our son.
Chelsea: That's right. So no wining and dining. You don't have to impress me.
Adam: Okay. Don't impress you. Nothing extravagant. Nothing.
Chelsea: All right, and that includes no extravagant gifts.
Adam: That -- that's actually not yours. It's not for you.
Harding: And what are you doing in here, fish?
Kevin: My job.
Harding: Where in your job description does it say that you snoop around the chief's office?
Kevin: I'm not snooping. I'm dropping...this... off for you.
Harding: What's this?
Kevin: It's the list of bank accounts you asked me to compile of everyone who was on duty while Victor Newman was in custody. I didn't see any large deposits made into any accounts, but you know the guys around here better than I do. Maybe one of the names will jump out as someone who could be our leak.
Harding: All right, I'll look at it later. If there's nothing else...
Kevin: No. That's it. Oh, and you're welcome. Lantern, snare wire, hunting knife, survival guide? What the hell?
Marisa: Mariah, hi.
Marisa: I'm surprised to see you. I didn't think this was your kind of place.
Mariah: Um, no, it's -- it's not. I mean, not usually, but today is a special occasion.
Marisa: Are you seeing Kevin here?
Mariah: No, no, god, no. Um, I just -- I had the night off, and I figured that I would treat myself to a nice dinner.
Marisa: Um, Mariah, I know you and I, we got off on the wrong foot, but you were right to go to the police.
Mariah: You're not mad I told them about your connection to Marco?
Marisa: Whether you or anyone else believes it, I want him caught. Have a good night.
Jack: Sweetheart, we can trust Marisa.
Phyllis: Oh, because she says so?
Jack: She was terrified when she thought I was Marco. You should have seen her face change when she realized it was me. You can't fake that.
Phyllis: None of us thought Marco was a fake when he claimed to be you.
Jack: Marisa is not Marco. I looked in her eyes. I could tell she was telling the truth.
Jack: I felt guilty for tricking her.
Phyllis: Oh, come on. She flashed that gorgeous smile of hers and batted those eyes.
Jack: So now you think she's seducing me?
Phyllis: I saw her at the hospital sitting by your bedside. It was very clear the two of you shared a deep connection.
Jack: We do.
Phyllis: Really? How deep?
Jack: What are you implying?
Phyllis: I was deceived for months by a man pretending to be you, and even though I was fooled on so many levels, I never fully connected to him. You weren't being fooled. You knew exactly who Marisa was. So you bonded with her.
Phyllis: You formed an emotional relationship with her.
Jack: Don't do this.
Phyllis: Look into my eyes and tell me there is nothing between you and Marisa.
Ashley: Ben and I were just talking. How'd your conference go?
Abby: It was amazing. I mean, at first Victoria wanted to do things all her way 'cause, well, that's just how she is, but then she decided to listen to some of my ideas. She incorporated them in the pitch, and the convention execs loved our presentation. I'm not trying to brag, but I think it was my ideas that put us way over the top. I'm sorry. You, uh, probably don't want to hear about my boring business trip.
Ashley: Not at all. I want to hear all about it. All about it -- tomorrow in the office. Um, you guys should catch up. Thank you so much for sharing the drink with me.
Stitch: Thanks. Thanks for the advice.
Ashley: Mwah. Welcome home.
Abby: See you tomorrow.
Abby: You okay?
Stitch: Yeah. Fine.
Abby: I got your message. Um, sounded like something was wrong. What happened?
Stitch: Rough day.
Abby: That's it? Just rough day? You're not gonna tell me what made it so bad?
Stitch: It was a difficult case.
Abby: What the hell, Ben? Why -- why won't you talk to me?
Stitch: I don't -- I don't know what you want me to say.
Abby: I want you to tell me what you're thinking, what you're feeling.
Stitch: It's not that easy, Abby.
Abby: Really? Well, it didn't seem like you were having trouble opening up to my mom.
Stitch: What? You mean just now? We were just -- we were sharing a drink.
Abby: It was obvious you were in the middle of something heavy when I walked in. And Victoria told me that you confided in her when you were together, so why can't you open up to me?
Jack: These past few months have been difficult for both of us.
Phyllis: You did, didn't you?
Jack: We helped each other survive. She's the reason I made it home.
Phyllis: Women like Marisa don't do anything unless there's something in it for them.
Jack: She hasn't asked a thing of me, and I have promised her nothing. I fought my way back here to be with you. I told her that, and she still helped me.
Phyllis: Out of the goodness of her heart?
Jack: Is that really so hard to believe?
Phyllis: Well, knowing who her former lover is, yes.
Jack: She is not Marco! You don't know her like I do.
Phyllis: No, I don't.
Jack: Oh, for god's sake, Phyllis.
Phyllis: No, come on. Come on. Why is she still in town? You're back home. Marco's out of the way. What is keeping her here?
Jack: Well, certainly not me, if that's what you're implying.
Phyllis: See, I know the two of you depended on one another for survival for weeks. You tell me nothing --
nothing -- ever happened between the two of you?
Jack: No, nothing ever happened.
Jack: I'm telling you the truth! I never slept with her! I cannot believe you think that I was unfaithful to you!
Phyllis: Wait, I was?
Jack: I didn't say that!
Phyllis: That's how it sounded, okay?!
Jack: Wh-- Phyllis. Phyll-- [Sighs]
Harding: Another reason you're not a cop, fish. You're terrible at surveillance.
Kevin: I wasn't surveilling.
Harding: Yeah, save it.
Kevin: Fine, I got somewhere to be, anyway.
Harding: Hey. Not till you tell me why you're following me.
Adam: It's Connor's birthday present.
Chelsea: Of course. [Chuckles]
Adam: Uh, you guys probably already did the whole -- the whole cake thing, right?
Chelsea: No, actually, we didn't. He's still off because of the whole time change, so he's been sleeping all day. He'll probably be up soon.
Adam: Really? Do you mind if we celebrate together? What's more normal than celebrating your kid's birthday, right?
Chelsea: Yeah, I mean, having a birthday party for a 2-year-old in the middle of the night in a Parisian hotel is totally normal.
Adam: Maybe not normal, but it could be fun.
Chelsea: Yeah, especially after he consumes all that sugar. That's gonna be really fun.
Adam: Tell you what. I tell you what. We celebrate together, and I will take care of the crash and burn.
Chelsea: Okay, I'm gonna hold you to that.
Adam: You can hold me to whatever you want.
Chelsea: All right, I'm gonna see if he's up. Look who's awake.
Adam: Hey! What's up, little man? Happy birthday! Right? Or should I say joyeux anniversaire, huh?
Chelsea: Oh, fancy. His French is a little rusty.
Adam: Well, so is mine. I tell you what. I know something that all kids would understand, Connor. How about presents, huh?
Chelsea: [Gasps] Presents! You want me to help you open it? Look.
Chelsea: What's in here, huh? Wasn't that nice? What did he get you? Oh, my goodness.
Adam: Open it up.
Chelsea: Want to open it? All right, mommy will help you. Here we go. What is it? What is it?
Adam: He's tired.
Chelsea: He is. He's a tired baby. Oh. [Chuckles] This is -- it's a soccer jersey. How cool is that, huh? You can wear this when you play with that soccer ball that you got last year at your... birthday. That was you. He got a -- he got a soccer ball for his birthday last year. There was no card. I-I assumed it was from Victor. But it wasn't, was it?
Adam: No. I sent it.
Chelsea: H-how did you know when and where Connor's birthday party was?
Adam: Um... I was watching you.
Harding: Let me guess. You were just cruising through the park, enjoying this lovely summer night, and you just happened to run into me.
Kevin: Cruising through the park?
Harding: Well, if you weren't enjoying the city's lovely recreational areas, what are you doing here, fish?
Kevin: Following you.
Harding: Yeah. And you got two seconds to tell me why. One... two.
Kevin: Because you've been acting suspicious as hell since Mariah and I told you that Annicelli was connected to Austin and Courtney's murders.
Harding: Well, not surprisingly, I have no idea what you're talking about.
Kevin: You've completely shut me out of the investigation, keeping me busy with stupid busy work.
Harding: Oh, yeah, you mean instead of police work?
Harding: Yeah! 'Cause you're not a cop! So why don't you get your butt down to the office, and if I need your hacking skills, I'll let you know. Meanwhile, leave the real work to the professionals.
Kevin: You know, I would if the professionals weren't dragging their heels in the search for Annicelli.
Harding: It's called running a thorough investigation.
Kevin: Is it? Really? 'Cause what it looks like is a guy who's wasting taxpayer dollars by going on a shopping spree for survival supplies. Care to explain why you need those?
Jack: Phyllis, I know I upset you. That's the last thing I want to do. I'm -- I'm sorry. Call me. Or better still, come home, okay?
Ashley: Hi. I'm here. I didn't mean to eavesdrop. Sorry.
Jack: Phyllis and I had a little misunderstanding.
Ashley: Do you want to talk about it?
Jack: No, it'll all clear up. She just needs some space.
Ashley: Okay, good, because maybe you can help me clear up another misunderstanding.
Jack: Okay. What's the problem?
Ashley: Victor accused me of being the mastermind behind some secret plot to destroy him.
Jack: Oh, yes. The paragon project. I know all about it. It's a diversionary tactic. It's his desperate, pathetic attempt to justify all the rotten things he's done to Phyllis and me.
Ashley: Wait a second. What did he do to Phyllis?
Jack: Besides almost making her a widow?
Ashley: Well, you let him off the hook about shooting you.
Jack: No, I told the truth.
Ashley: No, you didn't. I don't believe it. I don't believe you went to the park with a gun to shoot Victor.
Jack: I got the gun for self-defense. Why would I lie about that?
Ashley: I have no idea. But I know that both you and Victor know more than you're saying, and I'm starting to think it has something to do with this vendetta.
Phyllis: Hi, Mariah.
Marisa: What is --
Marisa: ...Going on?
Phyllis: We haven't met yet.
Phyllis: Not officially. I'm Phyllis, jack's wife.
Marisa: I know who you are.
Phyllis: You didn't mention that when you came to see jack at the hospital. In fact, you lied and said you didn't know him.
Marisa: I was protecting him.
Phyllis: Him or yourself?
Phyllis: I know all about your boyfriend. He's a drug lord, and he's wanted for murder. Is he the one who sent you to the hospital?
Marisa: I already told jack that I don't know where Marco is.
Phyllis: Jack believes that you are innocent because he has a trusting and kind heart. But I do not.
Marisa: I'm not lying.
Phyllis: All you've been doing is lying -- to me, to Noah, to the police. Now, they asked for a description of Marco, but you gave them a false one.
Marisa: Yes, I did. But I never lied to jack. I helped him escape from the man who wanted to kill him. I nursed him back to health and got him home safe. I lied to the police for his sake. I have done everything possible to protect him. So if you think I would sacrifice him because I have feelings for Marco --
Phyllis: I'm not here to talk about your ex-boyfriend. I'm here because I want to know your relationship with my husband.
Jack: Believe me, ash, I know as much about this alleged plan to eradicate all things Newman as you do.
Ashley: So, what? You don't think the thing ever existed?
Jack: I think in Victor's mind, a plot, real or imagined, that was designed to hurt his family or his company is justification enough for all the rotten things he's done these past few months.
Ashley: Why does he think you're behind it?
Jack: Paranoia. His single-minded hatred of me. Who knows?
Ashley: Okay, so somebody went after Victor, then Victor went after you.
Jack: The mustache must have felt that everything he loved, everyone he loved was threatened in order to go to the lengths he went to to eliminate me.
Ashley: Eliminate you by shooting you?
Jack: By taking me out of the equation.
Marisa: Jack and I have no relationship. We are two people who found ourselves in a desperate situation, and that's it.
Phyllis: It's the kind of help you gave him I am curious about.
Marisa: The kind that normally results in gratitude.
Phyllis: Should I be thanking you?
Marisa: I risked my life to save your husband.
Phyllis: Helping my husband through the toughest battle of his life while I was here playing house with a stranger.
Marisa: I'm -- I'm sorry that he --
Phyllis: I don't want your sympathy. I want my life back. My husband and I should have been on our honeymoon, basking in the sun and in our love for one another, but instead, I was revealing the most intimate parts of myself to a man who wanted jack dead.
Marisa: Marco's a masterful manipulator. There's no way you could have known he was an impostor.
Phyllis: I am jack's wife! I should have been able to tell the difference! I should have known.
Abby: I want to know what's going on with you. Like this patient today.
Stitch: You have been so hyped on your job lately, riding this huge wave of positivity. I didn't want to bring you down.
Abby: Hearing about your crappy day doesn't bring me down. It makes me feel like I am a part of your life. And I want that, Ben. I want to share the good and the bad.
Stitch: Look, I-I don't mean to shut you out, all right?
Abby: [Sighs] You have been there for me. You've kept me safe for months. You have listened to all of my problems. And I want to be there for you, too.
Stitch: You know, there is so much sadness and heartache in my line of work. You're my escape from all that.
Abby: [Chuckles] You make me sound like a distraction from what's really important in your life. I thought I meant more to you than that.
Chelsea: When you say you were watching me and Connor, what? You mean like stalking us?
Adam: No, no, I wasn't stalking you.
Chelsea: But you were at his birthday party?
Adam: I wasn't at his birthday party. I was recovering.
Chelsea: So, then how did you deliver the gift?
Adam: I, um, I didn't actually deliver the gift. I sent someone dressed like a clown to deliver the -- the gift.
Chelsea: I remember him. He gave Connor a balloon. We were all trying to figure out who hired him.
Adam: It was me. I-I couldn't stand the thought of missing my son's first birthday, so I-I sent him, you know, to take pictures, to take a video of little guy.
Chelsea: And to leave the soccer ball for Connor.
Adam: Chelsea, I needed a way to share the important milestones in my son's life.
Chelsea: Milestones, plural? [Chuckles] You're not just talking about the birthday party?
Adam: No, I, um, I saw him learn how to walk, learn how to talk the first time.
Chelsea: How? The camera. The camera hidden in Connor's nursery.
Adam: I had someone install it.
Chelsea: Oh, my god. Oh, my god. I-I was so freaked out, wondering who had been watching us, and the whole time, it was you?
Adam: I'm sorry. It was the only way I could stay connected to my son.
Chelsea: So you were watching me going in and out of his room and -- and...and Billy. Billy. You saw Billy, too.
Adam: I did, yeah.
Chelsea: So you -- you were watching Billy get close to me and Connor.
Adam: Yeah, I couldn't stand it. He shouldn't have been there. You know, he had no right to move into my house --
Chelsea: Don't you dare turn this on Billy.
Adam: I'm not trying to turn this on anybody, okay? I'm just trying to get you to understand why I did what I did.
Abby: Admit it, Ben. I am just some empty-headed plaything who helps you forget about all the serious issues in your life.
Stitch: What do you want from me?
Abby: I want you to talk to me. I want you to tell me about what's going on in your life so maybe I can help.
Stitch: Fine. Tell me why my patient died. Tell me why a good, decent man survived the war only to come home and succumb to a stupid curable infection. Can you help me with that, Abby? Can you bring him back to life? Give him the happy ending he deserves?
Abby: I'm sorry. I can't. I, um... I had no idea.
Stitch: Don't apologize. I... I'm a jerk. That was stupid and unfair. I'm just... I'm just really angry and frustrated about what happened.
Abby: Maybe there's something I can do to help. Come downstairs with me.
Chelsea: You want me to forgive you for invading my privacy, for spying on me and Connor?
Adam: I'm sorry. I just -- I couldn't stop thinking about all the precious time I was losing with him. He's growing every single day. He's changing every single day.
Chelsea: So you thought it was okay to secretly install a camera in my apartment?
Adam: I didn't want to. I didn't know what else to do. I couldn't exactly come home, could I? And not being able to comfort him, I couldn't touch him, I couldn't hold him when he's crying. It was killing me. Think about what that must have been like for me, okay? Being separated from my child. I'm just asking you to please understand why I had to see him when I couldn't be with him all those months.
Chelsea: I do understand, Adam, but that doesn't mean I forgive you.
Adam: It wasn't easy for me, either, all those things that I had to see -- Billy moving in, taking my place in your lives, Connor calling him daddy.
Chelsea: We thought you were dead, Adam!
Adam: I wasn't dead, Chelsea. I wa-- I'm not blaming you, okay? I'm not. And I can see that even though you were trying to move on with Billy, you were trying to keep me alive in Connor's heart and in your heart. And then I saw you with this here, okay? And I knew that you were thinking about me and everything that we had together, and that gave me hope because I knew that not only were there tears in your eyes, but there was love in your eyes, and I could see it. And I see it right now. It's that same love.
Adam: Chelsea, it is undeniable.
Chelsea: [Chuckles] I'm sorry. I'm sorry, buddy. We're ignoring the birthday boy. Come here. Ohh. Hmm?
Adam: Can't have that, right? What do you say we get this party started, huh?
Chelsea: It's time to, uh, wipe the slate clean, start a whole, new year... that's full of possibilities.
Phyllis: Sorry about before. I'd say that I don't normally go off on people, but that wouldn't be true.
Marisa: Jack told me you had a fiery temper.
Phyllis: You didn't deserve to be on the receiving end of that. Neither did jack earlier. You're not the ones I'm angry at.
Marisa: You have every right to be angry with Marco and Victor Newman.
Phyllis: Well, the person I'm angriest with is myself. I don't really know how I could be so blind and stupid at the same time.
Marisa: There's no way you could have known the truth.
Phyllis: Well, the truth is there were lots of signs -- lots of them -- and I didn't choose to look at them.
Marisa: Marco could have killed you. He's a ruthless man. He protects himself at all costs.
Phyllis: I could have gone to the police. I could have talked to someone.
Marisa: Don't beat yourself up about being fooled. If anyone -- anyone -- is guilty of being a fool, it's me.
Phyllis: Why you?
Marisa: I did know who Marco was. I convinced myself he was my savior, my way out of a bad life. I trusted him over and over, and every time I came back to him, he double-crossed me. But that didn't stop me from subjecting myself to his abuse.
Phyllis: Did he hurt you?
Marisa: No. Not the way he hurt you. But he's a cruel man. Not like your jack, kind and gentle. You asked me what my relationship is with your husband. It was centered around one thing -- his deep, passionate desire to get home to the wife he loves.
Kevin: You know, for a guy with such a big mouth, you're being awfully quiet. Maybe you'll be a little chattier with the chief.
Harding: You leave the chief out of this. He's still away on sick leave.
Kevin: Oh, I think he'd want to know about this.
Harding: You little twerp --
Mariah: Hey, guys. What are you doing here?
Harding: You guys both suck at this.
Harding: Surveillance. "Covert operations." You know, anything that requires half a brain. If you two don't stay out of the investigation, I am gonna throw you both in the smallest, darkest cell we have and throw away the key.
Kevin: You know what? You're right. I'll leave the investigating to you. But it is my duty as an upstanding citizen to report any police misconduct I suspect.
Harding: [Chuckles] Police misconduct. What -- what are you talking about?
Kevin: Misappropriation of funds.
Mariah: A hooker.
Kevin: Camping gear.
Mariah: I did not see that coming.
Harding: Because I'm going camping, genius.
Kevin: Camping? You? In the middle of a huge police investigation?
Harding: I have some vacation time coming. It just so happens this is the time of year that the largemouth bass are biting.
Kevin: Does the chief know about this?
Harding: He approved it weeks ago. Now, I have some work to do. Excuse me.
Kevin: Did you buy any of that?
Mariah: Not a word.
Abby: You still thinking about your patient? You had a connection to him.
Stitch: He served in Afghanistan like me. [Scoffs] He didn't trust doctors or hospitals because they reminded him of the trauma that he went through over there. I finally got him to let me treat him. It was too late.
Abby: Ben, it's not your fault. It's not your fault.
Adam: Happy birthday, son! Yeah! I didn't mean to --
Chelsea: No, it's okay. He is your son.
Adam: We got to get that. We got to get a photo of that. Let's do a birthday photo? Yeah? You ready? Ready? All right, here we go. Tongues out. Ahhh!
Adam: That's good. You're so cute.
Marisa: I meant what I said earlier. Don't be too hard on yourself.
Phyllis: When you saw jack, did you know it was Marco right away?
Marisa: I did.
Phyllis: How long did it take you to figure out the truth?
Marisa: You can't compare our situations --
Phyllis: About how long?
Marisa: Jack pretended he was Marco for a short while to figure out who I was, but then he told me the truth. So it's not the same, Phyllis.
Phyllis: You would have figured it out.
Marisa: Marco's a devious man who was determined to fool you. Jack -- you know, jack doesn't have that in him. They both have the same face, but only one of them has a soul.
Phyllis: You're right. Thank you for bringing jack back home to me.
Jack: The person we're looking for wanted Victor to think it was me that was out to get him.
Ashley: Because he wants the two of you to go after each other's throats.
Jack: Not just after each other's throats -- to destroy each other.
Ashley: But why? Why?
Jack: So they could gain control of both our companies and start something new of their own.
Ashley: [Sighs] Like some phoenix rising from the ashes?
Jack: It's the only thing that makes any sense.
Kevin: What are you doing here, anyway? You're supposed to be keeping an eye on Marisa.
Mariah: She went back to her suite, and I'm sorry, x-ray vision is not one of my super powers.
Kevin: Well, did you find anything out while you were watching her in the dining room?
Mariah: Yes. She is not a vegetarian. Suspicious.
Kevin: Nice work.
Mariah: You didn't do any better. Harding spotted you like you were wearing a neon sign saying "following you." Now we're not gonna get any information out of him.
Mariah: Unless what?
Kevin: Break out your bug spray. We're going camping.
Harding: Genoa city police! Anyone here? Freeze!
Marco: Are you gonna shoot me, detective?
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Paul: Harding has taken time off?
Kevin: You didn't approve that?
Victoria: Billy would never hurt somebody that I love so much.
Victor: Not even if that someone is me?
Billy: This is crap. Victoria's her own person.
Jack: She has spied on Jabot before.
