Billy: You know... I could get used to you working from home.
Victoria: Mm...
Billy: I also think that now might be a great time for a coffee break. You know what I'm saying? Coffee break? Want to take a coffee break?
Victoria: I can't, Billy. I can't right now, okay? I just can't.
Billy: Are you still upset with me for coming home late last night?
Victoria: I just -- I have a lot on my mind.
Billy: [Sighs] Okay. Well, tonight I'm gonna come early, and Hannah's gonna watch Johnny at her place, and you and I -- we're gonna take a trip down to pleasure island. Don't worry about packing a lot of clothes.
Victoria: That sounds nice.
Billy: Nice? That -- that -- that -- that sounds...nice? Really? That's what you're gonna say to me?
Victoria: Listen, I'm sorry, okay? I just -- I can't stop thinking about something that Adam said the other day.
Billy: What did he say? Did he say that he is a complete and total ass? 'Cause I can be on board with that.
Victoria: No. He said that I should be careful digging up secrets because you never know what you'll find.
Billy: Who even knows what that means, really? That just sounds like a bunch of random words strung together.
Victoria: He's implying that he knows a secret. He knows something that can hurt us.
Billy: Well, the thing about Adam is that he is a pathological liar, so no worries.
Victoria: I exposed a scheme of his, which he found amusing to no end, but then, all of a sudden, things turned serious.
Billy: Yeah.
Victoria: And he wasn't bluffing, Billy.
Billy: He's messing with you. Don't let him mess with you.
Victoria: I won't. I'm not. And his empty threats are not going to stop me. But I just wonder what information he could have to blackmail us with.
[Chelsea remembering]
Adam: Chelsea, see if you can look me in the eyes and tell me honestly that you don't regret leaving me. I would have given you everything. You could have had everything.
[Back to present]
Dylan: Are you sure Adam didn't get to you earlier?
Chelsea: I've dealt with bigger jerks than him. [Chuckles] No, actually, that's not true. I haven't, but I'll be fine.
Dylan: I've seen your "Fine," and this doesn't look like it.
Chelsea: Adam thinks that he can hurt me, but as far as I'm concerned, he is completely out of my life.
Dylan: That's what you say. But we both know there's something that's always gonna connect the two of you.
Kevin: Can I get you anything else?
Chloe: Uh, I'll take an honest husband. Oh, right. You don't serve that here.
Kevin: How long are you gonna punish me for this?
Chloe: For the actual stealing or for letting me spend the night in jail with a bunch of drug dealers, hookers, and shoplifters?
Kevin: Chloe, I said I was sorry. And I said that I will do anything to make this up to you. Just tell me that you can forgive me.
Chloe: You know, I might have been able to. But then finding out that you're doing it just for the thrill --
Kevin: Okay, hold on a second. I admit, yeah, I got a buzz from doing this, but that is not the only reason I did it. Look, this place is in serious financial trouble.
Chloe: Then sell it. Pay off the loan. I can support us until you can.
Kevin: Well, that is not soul-destroying or ego-crushing at all.
Chloe: Oh, but being a felon -- that's totally uplifting.
Kevin: [Sighs] Chloe, my life has been one dismal failure after another. I am not adding Crimson Lights to that list.
Chloe: Would you stop lying to yourself? If you stay in debt, you'll just find another excuse to keep on stealing.
Kevin: That is not true.
Chloe: Just go. Pretend-payback your debt to society. And tell Chavez thanks for nothing. [Sighs]
[Door opens]
[Door closes]
Leslie: So, what, did Lily say something to make you think she has feelings for you?
Tyler: [Sighs] She started to, and then she kind of caught herself, tried to take it back.
Leslie: Maybe you just misunderstood.
Tyler: No, when I told Lily that I was resigning from Jabot, it was pretty obvious that she felt like she was losing more than just a co-worker.
Leslie: Okay, even if you're right -- and that's a big "If" -- it still doesn't mean you have a chance with her.
Cane: Okay. All right. Let's go over the details of the new biotech division, okay?
Jill: Don't you and Lily need to get home?
Lily: No, I have to meet my dad and fill him in on the photo shoot and tell him that Tyler quit.
Jill: Do you think he'll be upset?
Lily: Yeah. Tyler is the creative genius behind the fashion campaign, so it's a big loss for everyone.
Cane: I think you'll survive. You're pretty amazing yourself.
Lily: I don't know about that, but... [Both laugh] I'll see you at home, okay?
Cane: Love you. Bye.
Lily: Bye, Jill.
Jill: Bye, Honey.
Cane: [Sighs] So...
Jill: Mm.
Cane: ...Where do you want to start?
Jill: How about we start with your marriage?
Cane: [Sighs]
Jill: I saw your reaction just now when Lily was talking about Tyler.
Cane: Well, she's worried she won't be able to handle the workload without him.
Jill: And that's what they were discussing before -- her not wanting Tyler to leave Jabot?
Cane: Listen, this is gonna be a huge fashion launch, okay? And Tyler's walking away right in the middle of a campaign, all right? She's -- she's upset. It's natural.
Jill: Yeah. It just seemed like more than a business disagreement. That's all.
Cane: Listen, why are you making more out of this? What, are you trying to distract me from my work at Chancellor?
Jill: I would expect that from Katherine but not from you.
Cane: Well, is it true? Is that not what you're doing?
Jill: What I'm doing is showing you that I care about you. I don't want you to get hurt.
Leslie: We've been through a lot -- finding out about what really happened to Mom, reuniting with Dad, then losing him. I had Neil. You turned to Lily.
Tyler: She's been a good friend.
Leslie: Oh, it went way beyond that for you.
Tyler: Lily listens, all right? She listens with her heart.
Leslie: Oh, my goodness, Tyler. Come on. Stop it. Really. I understand that it's hard to avoid the trap of thinking that kind of compassion means something else, but it would be a mistake to open your heart to her.
Tyler: You know, for years, you've been after me to, what, let out all of the -- the hurt and the anger and the pain I've been feeling. I finally start to, and, what, now you want me to just push it all back down?
Leslie: No, I want you to talk to someone -- a friend, a therapist, me -- anybody but Lily. Ty, she can't be the one you go to, especially if she's starting to feel something for you. She's got two little kids.
Tyler: Yeah, I know.
Leslie: Do you want her family to be destroyed by an affair, like ours was?
Tyler: [Sighs]
Lily: I still don't understand why somebody would want to make your journal public.
Neil: Obviously to cause some trouble for Leslie and me.
Lily: Well, I'm glad you guys were able to work through it.
Neil: Yeah, me too. So, the launch of Chelsea's line -- I got the pictures that you sent. Very impressive. The whole campaign is. It's fresh, it's new, exciting, just like Tyler promised.
Lily: Good. Uh...well, too bad that Tyler won't be able to see it through.
Neil: What are you talking about?
Lily: Tyler resigned. He feels that he wants to move in a new direction.
Neil: What happened with you two?
Lily: Oh, my God, Dad. There is nothing to worry about.
Neil: Okay. So, about the campaign -- you want me to get Devon to help you?
Lily: Well, Devon has good ideas, but he's not into fashion, and I know how huge this campaign is for you that you need to have the right team working on it.
Neil: And you don't think that's you and Devon?
Lily: Honestly, no, I don't.
Neil: Mm-hmm. Mm. All right. There is another way to go, then.
Victoria: What brings you over in the middle of the day? No deals to close? No stockholder meetings?
Victor: Hopefully, I've seen the last of those.
Victoria: So, you and Adam are going ahead with your plans to buy back the company?
Victor: Soon, it'll be back in Newman hands.
Victoria: Yours and Adam's. So, that's it, then. You've chosen him over me.
Adam: Billy. Can I get you something?
Billy: No, this is not a social call.
Adam: Well, thank God for that.
Billy: This is a "Don't make me beat the ever-loving hell out of you" call.
Adam: Be careful.
Billy: [Chuckling] Really? Okay. "Be careful."
Adam: What have I done to incite such ire, Billy?
Billy: One, tough guy, that's the amount of warnings you're gonna get. Stop playing head games with my wife.
Adam: And I thought my intentions were perfectly clear. You get her to back off, and things don't blow up at Billy's house.
Billy: First, do not make jokes about houses blowing up. I mean, come on. And, second, you got nothing on us, so leave my wife alone.
Adam: I've got nothing on you, huh? Okay. Well, that must mean that you went to my sister and you told her how you won a restaurant while playing a poker game.
Billy: Victoria's not gonna get upset that I sat down with a group of friends and I played poker one time.
Adam: Well, if by "Friends" you mean professional gamblers and by "One time," you mean many more than that, sure.
Billy: [Sighs] That was a one-time thing. No big deal.
Adam: One time, huh? So, that wasn't you last week at Ken's suite, sitting at a table? Heard you won 80 grand. Well done. You're an addict, Billy.
Billy: And you don't know what the hell you're talking about, Adam.
Adam: Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. Maybe Victoria's just not gonna give you a free pass for lying. I mean, you've done it so much, you know? What, there's that "Stolen baby you bought off the black market" thing?
Billy: Mm-hmm.
Adam: There's the illegitimate pregnancy in Myanmar. Let's not forget the fact that my father was in Los Angeles and you neglected to tell Victoria about that. That's kind of a biggie, so, yeah, I don't know. Hey, maybe I don't give her enough credit. Maybe she's more forgiving than I thought she was. So, what we should do is call her, and we'll find out together.
Billy: What do we need to do to keep your big mouth shut?
Victoria: You refuse to accept Billy, and Adam -- Adam, who has done nothing but hurt our family -- he's suddenly your golden child.
Victor: Sweetheart... come to your senses. I think Adam has proved worthy of being a Newman by taking a bullet for me. Billy boy is Billy boy.
Victoria: On the fateful day of your wedding, when Saint Adam was shot, Billy saved us all by defusing that bomb.
Victor: Sweetheart, he saved himself, as well, and I'm grateful for that. But Adam risked his own life in order to save mine. I think that there's a difference.
Victoria: You're just never gonna give Billy any credit for that, are you? Amazing, Dad. [Sighs] And speaking of credit, where did you get the money to buy back Newman? Because I know it didn't come from me, and Nick and Abby refused you.
Victor: I've raised most of the capital.
Victoria: And where did you get the rest?
Victor: Adam secured it.
Victoria: From where?
Victor: Why does it matter?
Victoria: I'm surprised that it doesn't matter to you, Dad. Are you that desperate to get Newman Enterprises back that you would take money from Adam, who's probably stolen it from little old ladies living off social security?
Victor: Why do you insist on thinking the worst of him?
Victoria: Because he's Adam! He wants me to think the worst of him.
Victor: Sweetheart, I was honestly hoping that by getting my company back... we'd get our family together again.
Victoria: Well, I'm sorry. That's never gonna happen with Adam in the picture.
Victor: [Sighs] I don't want to fight with you. I want you by my side, as we've always dreamt. And now, more than ever... I need you to be by my side.
Victoria: You don't trust Adam any more than I do.
Adam: Victoria already told you what I need. Otherwise, you wouldn't be here.
Billy: Yes. You want her to stop trying to dig up dirt to discredit you.
Adam: Well, she made the mistake of going and hiring an investigator that happened to be my investigator. So, who knows who she'd hire next? And I just don't like being investigated.
Billy: You must have one nasty secret you don't want uncovered, then.
Adam: Like a gambling addiction I want to keep from my wife?
Billy: This is a one-for-one trade. I get Victoria off your back, and then you keep your mouth shut.
Adam: My house, my rules.
Billy: Then you can forget it.
Adam: Okey-dokey. So, I guess, uh, you want to be there when I give her the call, break the news to her, or should I give you some time to get the hell out of dodge?
Billy: Adam, speak plain. What is it that you want?
Adam: Get her off my back, Billy. You guys need to focus -- concentrate on adding another rug rat to your collection. Let me run Newman. Get her off my back.
Alex: We got the coffee station over there, but you can't have any, and this is where you'll be working.
Kevin: Excellent. So, you have anything specific in mind?
Alex: Oh, yeah.
Kevin: What's that?
Alex: Those are unpaid parking tickets. I want you to enter them into the computer. [Whistling]
Kevin: Data entry? That's my job?
Alex: Oh, it'll be fun. I got like 20 more boxes in the file room.
Kevin: Hold on a second. The judge said I was gonna be designing anti-hacking software for the department.
Alex: Once we know we can trust you, and who knows how long that'll take, right?
Kevin: You're gonna make this as miserable for me as you can, aren't you?
Alex: Got to be better than what you're dealing with at home. [Clicks tongue] On his way.
Chloe: Past due. Past due. [Sighs] Pass me a knife so I can kill Kevin. [Sighs] Hi. Um, my name is Chloe Fisher. I got your card from a friend. Uh, well, my husband and I -- we own a coffee house, Crimson Lights. We'd like to get it appraised.
Dylan: I didn't mean to freak you out by what I just said.
Chelsea: "Hi, Chelsea" can freak me out these days?
Dylan: I just hope you don't misunderstand what I'm saying about you and Adam having a connection. I just know when you give your heart like that to somebody, a piece of it stays with them and a piece of them stays with you, too.
Chelsea: Maybe I should undergo an exorcism, huh? Maybe there's some kind of special surgery.
Dylan: Look at the up side. If he hadn't made you so miserable... we wouldn't be raising a kid together.
Chelsea: I should have told you right away that you were the baby's father.
Dylan: You know what? Madame Miranda doesn't know jack, after all. I'm not upset because you didn't tell me sooner.
Chelsea: I wanted to. I was just really confused.
Dylan: It's okay. It's okay. I-I understand.
Chelsea: I didn't know men like you existed. I just read about them in books when I was a kid.
Dylan: Oh, no, Chelsea. I am no -- no Prince Charming, that's for sure.
Chelsea: You are to me.
Dylan: Here's the truth. I look terrible in tights.
Chelsea: [Laughs]
Dylan: I do.
[Both laugh]
Chelsea: Well, I'm sure -- I'm sure fatherhood looks really, really good on you.
Dylan: I don't have a crystal ball to see into the future, but I can tell you... that I am gonna love this child. And I also can tell you that you and junior are hungry. Chinese. Chinese?
Chelsea: You're good. Yeah.
Dylan: Yeah. I'll be back.
Chelsea: Okay.
Dylan: [Chuckles]
Chelsea: Really good. Don't forget the Kung Pao chicken.
Dylan: Don't -- uh...
[Door closes]
Adam: Always was your favorite.
Cane: All right, here's a list of the world's top medical research companies. Any of these would be a great acquisition for Chancellor. I'll have Alicia send you a copy of this, okay? She's also going to send you drugs, doctors, and disease studies. But I want you to do your own data, okay? I want this to be a passion project for you. I want it to come from your heart.
Jill: Mm. Okay. So, that's the game plan, then, huh? You're gonna focus on what's important to my heart so that you can avoid what's going on in yours.
Cane: Jill.
Jill: Don't "Jill" me. You made me love you like a son. Now I'm gonna talk to you like a mother.
Cane: I don't want to talk about this.
Jill: Oh, I'm sure you don't, but you're not leaving here until we do talk about -- not about doctors or research facilities.
Cane: I really don't want to talk about Lily and Tyler.
Jill: Have you seen the way Tyler looks at your wife?
Cane: Yes, I've seen the way he looks at my wife, and he looks at women like that. He looks at all women like that.
Jill: And you're okay with that?
Cane: The guy's a player, and she is not interested.
Jill: So, you're gonna tell me that you're not worried, huh?
Cane: I trust my wife.
Jill: [Sighs] Darling, you tell me that you have never once been concerned about what's going on between the two of them, and I'll drop this.
Neil: What do you think?
Lily: I totally agree. I think this is the best way to go.
Neil: I'm glad you think so.
Lily: Look, I know how important this campaign is for you, and I just -- I want it to be a success.
Neil: Darling, you are what matters most to me.
Lily: Well, I think that this is gonna be the best for all of us -- if it works. If.
Neil: You think it won't?
Lily: There's only one way to find out.
Neil: Okay. You want me to take care of it?
Lily: Uh, no. No. I-I have it covered.
Neil: All right. I got to run. Call me if you need me, as always.
Lily: Okay.
Neil: I love you.
Lily: Love you, too.
Neil: All right, Baby.
Lily: [Clears throat] Tyler, it's, um -- it's me. I need to see you, so can you meet me at On the Boulevard?
Adam: "Bring a tacky fair prize to work" day?
Chelsea: You know, when we were married, you were so busy with Sharon and Newman, I hardly saw you, and now you just keep popping up. What is it this time?
Adam: Would you believe that, uh... I came to apologize for being a jerk earlier?
Chelsea: No. Not for a second.
Adam: Well, that's why I came with more than an apology. I don't know if you've heard, but I bought the penthouse from my father.
Chelsea: Why should I care?
Adam: Well, it's vacant, Chelsea, and, uh... you're expanding your family. I figured you and Dylan could have a place to settle in.
Chelsea: No, thanks. Dylan has a place of his own he's renovating, and I'll -- I'll figure something out.
Adam: Yeah, well, you better hurry up. Looks like things are moving along a little faster than you thought.
Chelsea: Well, you know what they say. When a woman's happy, she shows earlier.
Adam: You trying to say you weren't happy when you were carrying our child?
Chelsea: There is no point in looking back, Adam.
Adam: Speaking of looking back, I did just that, thinking about how we tried to work things out.
Chelsea: Tried and failed.
Adam: Not for want of trying. We made love nearly every night.
Chelsea: What's your point?
Adam: That was a few months ago, Chelsea -- just a few months back -- and if someone were to do the math --
Chelsea: Are you implying that this baby is yours?
Adam: Is it?
Chelsea: [Laughs]
Adam: Chelsea, look at me. Tell me the truth. Are you carrying my baby?
[Keyboard clacking]
Alex: [Slurping]
Kevin: You know, it's gonna be hard for us to build a trusting relationship with you watching everything that I'm doing.
Alex: But we're learning so much about each other. Right? And that's -- that's the big reward, I think.
Neil: Detective Chavez.
Alex: [Sighs] Mr. Winters. What can I do for you?
Neil: Listen, I want to speak to you about my case.
Alex: I told you already -- we don't have anything new, and when we do, I will call you.
Neil: It doesn't matter if you don't have anything. I have something new.
Leslie: Hey. Hey. Neil. I got your message.
Neil: Hi, Sweetie. I was just about to tell the detective here another entry from my journal was posted on the GC Buzz.
Alex: You sure about that?
Neil: Would I be standing here in front of you if I wasn't? Some of it was word for word what I wrote. Listen, we have to shut that site down.
Leslie: Look, look. I looked into it. If what they're printing is true, there's really nothing you can do about it.
Neil: Do you understand? Do you understand what I'm saying -- that innocent people are being hurt by this? Do you?
Leslie: Neil. Who's the post about this time?
Victor: Johnny all right?
Victoria: He's fine.
Victor: Won't be long till I get him his first pony.
Victoria: Don't try to distract me, Dad.
Victor: Not trying to do that.
Victoria: All right, then. Please answer my question. I want to know if you're having second thoughts about trusting Adam.
Victor: The fact that I want you by my side doesn't mean that I've lost faith in him, okay?
Victoria: Okay. Well, that's not exactly an endorsement, Dad.
Victor: Sweetheart, Adam is doing everything he can to help me get my company back.
Victoria: And push me out in the process.
Victor: But that's not true. I asked you to join us, and you refused.
Victoria: Daddy, you just wanted my money.
Victor: Sweetheart, how can you say that? I don't need your money now. I still want you by my side at Newman. Can we stop this fighting? Let's work this out somehow.
Victoria: How? How are we supposed to do that?
Victor: Just sit down with me and Adam, and we'll work out some solution.
Victoria: I can't. I can't do it tonight. I've got plans tonight.
Victor: Sweetheart, you don't have plans tonight. Nonsense. Billy boy can wait. This can't. I've always wanted you by my side, okay? Without you, this company will not be the kind of legacy that I want to leave for my children or for my grandchildren. Please meet with Adam and me.
Victoria: All right. I'll think about it.
Victor: I want you to think hard, okay? [Smooches] [Sighs] I love you.
Victoria: I love you.
[Door closes]
Chelsea: This is not your baby, Adam. I don't know where you would come up with a crazy idea like that, but --
Adam: Those times you showed up to talk to me, you had to tell me something so important and then you had to back off? You were gonna tell me you were pregnant, weren't you?
Chelsea: That's ridiculous.
Adam: And then you flipped out earlier at the mere suggestion of us being a family if that were my baby.
Chelsea: I flipped out because you are an arrogant jerk who thinks I spend every waking moment wishing I never left you.
Adam: I would have given everything to you -- you and that child.
Chelsea: Oh, we have everything! [Sighs]
Adam: This is punishment, isn't it? I hurt you, and so you're denying me the one thing that is so important to me, Chelsea, and you know that.
Chelsea: Stop it! Stop it, Adam! Stop! You have to accept it, okay? You have to accept the fact that this isn't your baby.
Adam: I don't have to accept anything, okay? I don't have to accept anything if I don't want to. I want to be the one to give you that bear! I should be the one out getting you Chinese! That should be me, Chelsea!
Chelsea: It's not, though, Adam.
Adam: We could have had so much. We could have had a real family.
Chelsea: You chose Newman Enterprises, so don't you dare come to me now, pretending like you didn't, okay?! That company is your family!
Adam: If I find out that that's my child, Chelsea, so help me --
Chelsea: It's not! It's not! Get it through your head! This is not your baby!
Dylan: What's going on?
Chelsea: [Sighs]
Billy: Honey! [Singsong voice] I got something for you!
[Keys jingling]
Billy: [Sighs]
[Keys thud]
Billy: [Normal voice] "Billy, Hannah took Johnny. I have a meeting. V." A meeting with who?
Chelsea: Adam was just leaving.
Dylan: I think that's a great idea.
Adam: Enjoy your Kung Pao.
Chelsea: I think he -- I think he got the message.
Dylan: That he's not the baby's father? I heard the end of the conversation.
Chelsea: Adam's... having a hard time accepting reality.
Dylan: Maybe he's just starting to realize what he gave up.
Chelsea: He made his choice.
Dylan: What about you? Any regrets?
Chelsea: Everything's worked out for the best.
[Door opens]
[Door closes]
Chloe: Mmm! What do I smell? Is that -- is that Chinese food?
Dylan: There's enough for two.
Chloe: Oh, well, I don't want to bother you guys. You guys eat.
Dylan: No, no. Actually, I think Chelsea could use a friend right now.
Chloe: You sure?
Chelsea: Thank you.
Dylan: Lots of hot sauce in there.
Chloe: See? Now, I told you everything would work out once you found your perfect baby daddy.
Chelsea: Things are not working out. Everything is about to blow up.
Chloe: You were just making goo-goo eyes at each other. Look -- he got you food, extra spicy.
Chelsea: Adam was just here, asking if the baby is his. [Sighs] He's gonna find out the truth, just like I knew he would. [Sighs]
Cane: The first time Tyler looked at Lily, he practically undressed her with his eyes, and I just wanted to just -- I wanted to smash him.
Jill: I don't know how you restrained yourself.
Cane: Because Lily has kept reassuring me that they are just friends. Jill, I became this jealous, suspicious person, and I hated it. I hated it, and Lily hated it, so you know what? I realized I just...have to trust. I trust her.
Jill: You do realize, don't you, that a guy like Tyler is not gonna give up?
Cane: I don't think it matters, because Lily loves me. And she's committed to our marriage, and she's committed to our kids.
Jill: Absolutely. But I'll bet you're glad they're not working together anymore, huh?
Lily: Thank you for coming.
Tyler: Yeah. You know, I was actually surprised to hear from you... after our talk at the club.
Lily: Well, I was surprised when you told me that you had feelings for me.
Tyler: [Sighs]
Lily: Look, I'm really sorry about how I reacted and what I said.
Tyler: I'm not.
Lily: Tyler, it doesn't mean that --
Tyler: Lily, I know, all right? So, what'd you call me for?
Lily: I told my dad that you quit.
Tyler: Well, he was probably relieved.
Lily: No, he was as upset as I am. Tyler, you're really important to this campaign, and we can't do it without you. Is there any way that you will change your mind and come back?
Tyler: I can't.
Lily: Yeah. I thought you would say that, so I have a proposition for you.
Leslie: This post is about Lily.
[Keyboard clacking]
Neil: [Sighs] "Cane's told Lily so many lies, she doesn't know what to believe. She needs to be able to trust someone. That's why she turned to Daniel." Yeah. These are my words. The rest of it, though -- it's garbage.
Alex: All right, do you mind? May I?
Neil: Go ahead.
Alex: Thank you. "It seems Lily will use any excuse to cheat on her husband. A little rough spot in her marriage, and she's looking for someone other than Cane to console her. She doesn't want realism. She wants magic. With two kids and two careers between them, I have to wonder how long it'll be before Lily once again is seeking the comfort she can't find at home."
Neil: Someone took my private thoughts and turned them into something hurtful and ugly.
Leslie: Who would want to do this to Lily?
Alex: Look, we tried to track down the person who posted the first one, and the guy who manages the GC Buzz said he got an e-mail from an anonymous source.
Neil: Detective, call me crazy, but isn't there a way to find this anonymous source?
Kevin: Of course there is, Neil. All you have to do is trace the I.P. address and find out where it originated.
Alex: Unh-unh! Slow down! In order to do that, you would have to hack the e-mail, which is illegal.
Kevin: Oops. Gosh, I wish you'd said that a minute ago, Detective, 'cause I've already done it. The domain is registered to NEWbiz, Incorporated.
Neil: That's impossible. Hold on a minute. Let me see that.
Kevin: Look. It's right there -- capital "N," capital "E," capital "W," "Biz." Looks like an acronym to me. If we could just figure out what it means.
Neil: No, it can't -- there's got to be a mistake here.
Kevin: [Chuckles] No. I know how to hack.
Alex: Whoa! Hey! You might want to shut up about that at a police station.
Neil: Kevin, you're wrong! You have to be wrong!
Alex: Why do you keep saying that, Mr. Winters?
Neil: [Sighs] Uh, because..."N-E-W" stands for "Neil Ellis Winters." That's me. This is my -- this is my corporation!
Lily: You know how important this campaign is for Jabot and for my dad, and if this thing fails --
Tyler: It won't.
Lily: It could if you're not there.
Tyler: You know why I left.
Lily: Yeah, because of your feelings for me. What if I wasn't there?
Tyler: What are you saying?
Lily: What I'm saying is if I walk away from the project, will you come back?
Billy: [Humming]
[Cell phone rings]
Billy: [Sighs] Hey, Ken. What's up? Nope. No way. Well, because there's a new rule at my restaurant -- no more poker. No, Ken, not even in the back room. I -- I don't know. You figure it out, okay? Because I have more important things to worry about. Thank you, Ken.
Victoria: I know you're from out of town, so you probably don't know that much about my family.
P.I.: I'd have to be out a terrible investigator to not know much about the Newmans.
Victoria: Good. That's what I want to hear. So, you know that my brother Adam is running the business with my father. And I want for that to be a temporary situation.
P.I.: How can I help?
Victoria: My brother is hiding something.
P.I.: How do you know that?
Victoria: Because it's what he does. He's gone to great lengths to cover it up. He had the last investigator that I hired hand me false information, and I don't want that to happen again. I need you to be thorough, fast, and undetected. Can you do that?
P.I.: I think you know the answer.
Victoria: Because I need solid, reliable information that I can use against my brother, and I need it now.
Dylan: [Sighs]
Adam: Wow. Another one. I'm gonna have to have a chat with my doorman.
Dylan: You can't talk with Chelsea anymore.
Adam: Well, that would be between me and my ex.
Dylan: There's nothing between Chelsea and you.
Adam: Is the protective father in you coming out?
Dylan: You had your chance to have a family with Chelsea, and you just threw it away. It's my family now. Back off.
Adam: Or?
Dylan: There is no "Or."
Chelsea: Just when things were starting to go well with Dylan. He loves this baby. And I just -- I know that he would be a better father than Adam.
Chloe: Godzilla would be better than Adam.
Chelsea: What if he demands a paternity test? Adam has money and power and the law on his side. I won't be able to stop him.
Chloe: That's it.
Chelsea: What?
Chloe: If Adam is gonna try to take this to court, then you need to tip the scales of justice in your favor.
Chelsea: How?
Chloe: By legalizing Dylan's role in the baby's life.
Chelsea: Well, I already plan to have his name on the birth certificate.
Chloe: Not enough. You have to get Dylan to marry you.
Adam: Dr. Mallory, this is Adam Newman. We met during my wife's last pregnancy -- Chelsea. Uh...I have some questions, some concerns about her current pregnancy.
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Traci: When things don't work out between you and Jack, it may drive him back to using pills.
Nikki: Do not start a war with Adam. He will not hesitate to strike back.
Adam: I'm trying to screw you out of being part of the company, Dad.
Victor: Well, isn't that what you've always wanted?
