Episode # 9791 ~ Victor Sacrifices Everything for Nikki
Provided By Suzanne
Proofread By Emma
Victoria: Yes! I am the winner and still champion! (Laughs)
Billy: Yeah, yeah, yeah, for now.
Victoria: It's okay. We'll have a rematch when you get back from Delia's.
Billy: Hey, Buddy, you mind going upstairs and putting on your coat for me?
Reed: I'm so glad Dad said I could stay more.
Victoria: Me, too. I love you. Ooh!
Billy: (Growls) Heh. Hmm. I done good?
Victoria: Yeah... (Sighs) You did-- goodest ever.
Victoria: Goodest, goodest.
Billy: Hmm? Hmm?
Victoria: Oh, you're so handsome.
Victoria: Hey, um, you know, um, when you get back from dropping him off at Delia's, do you want to go Christmas shopping?
Billy: (Laughs) Yes, I do, but I've gotta make a quick stop first.
Billy: All right, mm, mm, mm... (Growls) All right?
(Cell phone rings)
Billy: (Grunts) Hey, Jack. I was just talking about you.
Jack: That mean you're reconsidering my proposal?
Billy: Well, if I'm back to Jabot, that's a pretty big step, so do you mind if I swing by and get more specifics?
Jack: That would be great.
Paul: I need to know you are who you say you are.
Emily: Of course, of course. My brother Jamie didn't want me to go with him when he turned himself in for writing those prescriptions. You took him to the station. Patty wouldn't know that. Only I would.
Paul: You offered him something to drink.
Emily: Did I? Um... oh, uh, orange juice. And if you're still not sure, you can call my office in Chicago, and one of my associates will verify that I planned to come here today, or you can get another D.N.A. sample.
Paul: You had me at orange juice.
Emily: But you'll still call my office.
Paul: My sister is still wearing your face, and she has fooled me before.
Emily: (Sighs) I-I know. I know how awkward this is for you.
Paul: And what about you? How do you feel about being back here?
Emily: Um... it's a bit unsettling, and, uh... but it's overdue.
Ashley: Is it just a coincidence that my brother's ex-fiancée is your therapist?
Tucker: No. I sought her out.
Ashley: You've been seeing her for a few weeks, right? And you didn't tell me? You didn't think you should, maybe, mention it to me? Uh, whatever happened to "No more secrets"?
Tucker: I was gonna tell you. I was plannin' on tellin' you this week, but I-I didn't want to tell you right away, because I wasn't sure it was gonna work out.
Ashley: She was engaged to my brother, and everything that happened with them--
Tucker: Her relationship with Jack never comes up. It's not an issue.
Ashley: It's an issue.
Adam: Hey, Nicholas.
Nick: Shut up.
Adam: What'd I do now?
Nick: You know, you've been back at Newman, what, five minutes? And you're already working an agenda.
Adam: So you think I planted that syringe in Dad's office, huh?
Nick: Well, since you just happened to be working on thanksgiving, and that is when they just happened to find the stuff, yeah, I think you set up Dad.
Adam: Okay, okay, I see what's happening here. You--you're taking this out on me 'cause you feel guilty.
Nick: (Scoffs) For what?
Adam: While our old man was being hauled off, you were, uh, stuffing turkey with Sharon.
Nick: This is killing you, isn't it? You're dying to know about Sharon's life far away from you, right?
Ronan: Thank you.
Spencer: You already contacted the judge about an arrest warrant for Nikki Newman?
Ronan: I'm just waiting for you to sign off on it.
Spencer: Show me what you got.
Ronan: A.T.M. records and other proof indicating that Nikki did leave the rehab facility and made her way to Genoa City the night that Diane was murdered.
Spencer: You got means and motive?
Ronan: I have evidence to support both.
Spencer: You think she did it?
Ronan: There's only one way to find out.
Spencer: I'll get that warrant expedited.
Ronan: All right, good. We can't have Nikki disappearing before we bring her into custody, hmm?
Nikki: I killed her. I killed Diane.
Victor: Sweetheart, don't you ever say that again.
Nikki: But it's true, it's true. I... I was so damn mad when I saw those-- those pictures on that...
Victor: Give me the bottle.
Nikki: Tabloid site. Victor, I need this right now. Just please let me have it. I was so upset. I mean, we were making love.
Victor: I know we were, okay?
Nikki: Yeah, but, well, she-- she made them look just dirty and sordid, those photos, and then she files that lawsuit on me. I'm telling you...
Nikki: I was so damn upset when I left that... rehab place!
Victor: Sweetheart, you left only for one night. You went back the next morning.
Nikki: Okay, but it wasn't just any night, was it? It was a particular night...
Nikki: That she was murdered.
Victor: Listen to me. Sit down. You need to rest right now. Come on.
Nikki: (Sobs) And you didn't ask me. You didn't push me at all...
Victor: I-I didn't push you at all because there was nothing to ask.
Nikki: For why?
Victor: You went back to the rehab.
Nikki: No, it's because you already knew what I had done. You knew.
Victor: You listen to me. I know you. You did not kill Diane Jenkins. You got it?
Nikki: (Crying) Yes.
Victor: You did not kill her.
Billy: Me at Jabot-- bad idea, right?
Victoria: I don't know. I mean, if what you really want is to get "Restless Style" back...
Billy: Eh, it's not an option, so it's time to move on to backup plan. It's got its perks, though. I mean, I get to work with my family.
Victoria: Right, but, you know, that cuts both ways.
Billy: Hmm. Yes, it does, but it's worth a second conversation, right?
Reed: I'm ready.
Billy: You're ready? Oh, come here. Let me take a look at you.
Victoria: Ohh, yes.
Billy: There it is. Let's see what we got here. Oh, nice hat. Here, Bunky, let's put this on... (Humming) And zip you up... and zip you up zip! Then...
Tucker: Are you asking me to quit therapy?
Ashley: Of course not quit therapy. Look, the things that Patty did to Jack, the things that she did to me-- I mean...
Tucker: Emily is not Patty.
Ashley: I realize that, but I think even seeing Emily again could bring back a lot of bad memories, particularly for Jack.
Tucker: So do you think it's fair for Dr. Peterson to stay in exile from this town because of something someone else did?
Ashley: No, I don't.
Tucker: I don't, either. I told her I think she should come back to Genoa City, at least for a visit.
Ashley: You asked her to come here?
Tucker: Yeah, I suggested it.
Ashley: It--Tucker, Jack has worked so hard at trying to put what happened with Emily and Patty behind him.
Tucker: (Sighs) But this is not about Jack.
Ashley: Oh, I don't want him to know about it. I certainly don't want him to see her.
Tucker: And what if she does come to town?
Ashley: Well, it can't happen.
Tucker: Well, if it does and Jack has a problem with it, he'll have to work it out with Dr. Peterson.
Ashley: You're just completely not hearing me at all.
Tucker: I'm trying to.
Ashley: You need to get another therapist. I really think you do.
Paul: So, um, you know she escaped.
Emily: From the institution, yes. Have you heard from her since then?
Paul: Well, she was in, um, South America for a while, but, uh... oh, Man, I think that lead has been cold for over a year now.
Emily: (Clears throat)
Paul: I still put out feelers.
Emily: Why would you ever give up, Paul? She's your sister.
Paul: You know, the--the fact that she's out there alone and she's so ill... it just, um, breaks my heart, and despite what Patty has done, I... (Sighs) I'm sure you don't want to hear any of this.
Emily: No, it's all right, really. I-I understand why Patty did what she did.
Paul: My guess is that's Dr. Peterson talking. How does Emily feel?
Emily: What... (Chuckles) Oh... (Sighs) I've accepted what happened, but I struggle with it every day. Every month that passes, uh, it does get a little bit easier.
Nick: You want to know if she and Sam are involved again?
Adam: Are they? I bet that burns you.
Nick: You're pathetic.
Adam: Or I could just give her a call.
Nick: I think you should leave her alone.
Adam: Or you could answer my question.
Nick: (Stamps foot) As far as I can tell, she and Sam are just friends, and that's it.
Nick: You see, it's pitiful that you are relieved to hear that. What do you think's gonna happen? She's gonna come back here and forgive you?
Adam: That's the kind of woman that Sharon is.
Nick: She's over you and she's safe, and she's doing everything she can to put her life back together.
Adam: When is she coming back?
Nick: To town? No time soon. To you? Never.
Nikki: I was a wreck. I was a mess. Obviously, my treatment wasn't working, so I just got a car and I came home. I so desperately wanted to be home.
Victor: And when you got here?
Nikki: Well, then, after I got here, I didn't know what to do with myself. I couldn't... (Sniffles) I couldn't really face you. I-I-I didn't want to face the kids, so I just started drinking, and--and ended up-- (Stammering) I saw you.
Victor: Where did you see me?
Nikki: I saw you in the park. You were arguing with Diane.
Victor: What else did you see?
Nikki: (Stammering) I-I don't know why I want to say this, but it's-- did I see Victoria? Could I have seen Victoria?
Victor: Well, if you don't know if you saw her, then how can you think--
Nikki: I just--I-I-I-- I was so angry with that woman for what she has done to us, to our family, to you, to me--
Victor: Did you confront her?
Nikki: Well, I'm sure I did.
Victor: What did you-- stop drinking! What did you say to her?
Nikki: Victor, you have to just let me right now. I don't know, I don't know, I-- I got--I just blacked out. I don't know exactly what--
Victor: Well, if you don't know exactly, then how the hell do you know you saw anyone or that you killed her? How do you know? You don't know what you said to her.
Nikki: Because then I woke up. I woke up in the park... (Sniffles) And there was this bloody rock next to me, and then there was... blood all over my clothes, all over my hands. Everything was all stained, and that's how I knew that I had done it. That's how. (Sighs shakily) I'm sorry. (Sobs)
Jack: Ash is on her way here. She will be as thrilled as I am with your change of heart.
Billy: Correction-- still pondering.
Jack: Mind telling me what your hang-up is?
Billy: Is this really a good fit?
Jack: Billy, you're an Abbott. We just got Jabot back.
Billy: Yeah, a-and that's amazing, and it would be even more amazing to be able to work with you and my sister again. Ever since I was, uh, away, family's been more important.
Jack: Well, I like the sound of that.
Billy: And I need to do right by Delia and Victoria, and I need to work.
Jack: Sounds like you have something to prove.
Billy: Yeah, I'd say it's well past time for me to get my act together.
Nick: I can't stand the thought of Adam thinking about Sharon.
Victoria: Oh, I don't know. Wouldn't it be great if he moved back to Kansas and left us alone? (Sighs)
Nick: No chance of that happening, especially now that he's so entrenched at Newman again. Can you please tell me why Dad would hire him back?
Victoria: I have no idea. You'll have to ask him, because I am completely and entirely finished with Newman.
Nick: (Rubs hands together)
Victoria: You, on the other hand--
Victoria: Yeah, I mean, you're obviously concerned about the company. Enough to go back?
Nick: I have the magazine.
Victoria: Since you turned down Billy's offer, you're obviously devoted to that.
Nick: (Sighs) Eh, I don't know if I'd use the word "Devoted." (Rubs hands together) I mean, me saying no to Billy was more of a, uh, a reflex.
Victoria: Oh. Well, how do you feel about it, then?
Nick: The magazine might not be the best place for me anymore.
Spencer: Here's your warrant. Go get Nikki Newman.
Ronan: Thank you. Alert your unit.
Man: All available officers, report to Newman ranch.
Man: Copy that. Hey, let's go.
Victor: Baby, I can help you. (Sighs)
Nikki: (Slurring) I don't know how you can, because... I killed her, and I-I tried to cover it up. You can't do anything.
Nikki: Well, I... I bought new clothes on the way back to the--the rehab place. I bought new clothes.
Victor: Okay, what else did you do? Tell me exactly what you did.
Victor: I need to know, okay?
Nikki: Ohh, I just-- I just can't-- I don't know, I pretended that this--this just didn't even happen, you know? Like I could make it go away, and I let them accuse everybody. I let them accuse my family.
Victor: Sweetheart, Sweetheart, Sweetheart...
Nikki: I'm a horrible, horrible person.
Victor: Sweetheart, you're not a horrible person, okay?
Nikki: I am.
Victor: Now stop it.
Nikki: The worst.
Victor: I'll make it go away, okay?
Nikki: No, Victor, I can't live with this. I-I'm gonna have to let them know.
Nikki: I'm gonna have to-- I have to do that thing with the, um, uh, confess.
Victor: Oh, Sweetheart.
Nikki: I have to confess and let them know.
Victor: Oh, Baby, come here, come here, come here, come here, come here, come here, come here.
Victor: Come here, come here. Come on, come here.
Victor: (Sighs) Baby. I'll make everything all right, I promise you, okay? (Sighs) Baby.
Nick: Lately the magazine has been more... (Sighs) Frustrating than it's been fulfilling.
Victoria: You're welcome. Uh, so then why even hang on to it?
Nick: Phyllis was a big part of that.
Nick: (Sighs) Yeah, I, uh, I fired her.
Victoria: Why? Creative differences?
Nick: Mostly. There were some personal complications.
Victoria: Okay, um, well, then you could go back to work at Newman.
Nick: Eh, a lot of complications there, too.
Victoria: Right. Um, well, look, Nick, I don't really mean to push you, but...
Nick: Well, which means you are about to push me.
Victoria: Well, if you're thinking about giving up the magazine, maybe...
Nick: You want me to sell it to Billy?
Victoria: I just--you know, he regrets giving it up, and he's talking about going to work at Jabot, and I know that he would love to have "Restless Style" back.
Billy: So what exactly would I be doing at Jabot?
Jack: Well, I want you to have some say in that, but I was thinking P.R. and marketing. You got business acumen, you got creativity, writing skills-- all qualities that you had at "Restless Style," and you know how to charm anybody at a meeting.
Billy: (Chuckles) Stop, you're making me blush, Jack.
Jack: No, I'm serious. We want to build on your strengths.
Billy: Okay, and I know this is gonna be as good as it gets for me as far as a corporate gig goes, so...
Jack: So is that a yes?
Ashley: Hi. (Gasps) Oh, hi.
Billy: Hey, how are you?
Ashley: I didn't know you were gonna be here.
Jack: O-our brother here is about to say yes to rejoining the family company.
Billy: Well, you know, I've gotta get going, and I'm gonna think about it and get back to you, but hey, it's good to see you.
Ashley: What are you saying?
Billy: I--mwah, I love you.
Ashley: Something I said?
Billy: Good-bye. (Laughs) No, hi. Mm, you look good.
Ashley: Mm, uh...
Ashley: Bye. Do you think he's-- do you think he's gonna do it?
Jack: I'd say there's a 50/50 chance. Now where were you? I thought you were gonna help me with some of the heavy lifting.
Ashley: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I got hung up.
Jack: You look a little frazzled. You okay?
Ashley: I'm fine. Everything's good. Let's work. (Claps hands) Come on, bring it up.
Jack: Okay, let me get my stuff.
Ashley: Okay. (Sighs)
Tucker: I had no idea you were in town.
Emily: Yeah, I thought about your suggestion, and decided to try it on for size.
Tucker: Right, you don't waste any time.
Emily: No, I don't. I hope I didn't cause any problems. I didn't expect Ashley to answer your phone.
Tucker: It's not your fault that Ashley found out, or how, but I have to say, it has, uh, turned into a bit of a complication.
Emily: In what way?
Tucker: She's pretty upset.
Emily: (Exhales sharply) I, uh, I understand.
Tucker: Well, you know, the Patty/Jack thing.
Emily: Yeah. That was a, uh, highly traumatic period in Jack's life, and a lot of people's lives here.
Tucker: I just didn't expect such a strong reaction from Ashley, but I can't ignore how my wife's feeling. I've decided to stop therapy with you.
Emily: I completely understand, and if you need me to recommend an associate, please let me know.
Tucker: I appreciate that.
Tucker: Thanks for everything.
Emily: Oh, you're welcome, and don't doubt your decision, Tucker. You put your family first, and I-I commend that. Take care. (Clears throat)
Ronan: Tell the team to stand by for transport.
Victor: Ohh. There you are. I was expecting you.
Ronan: Where's Nikki?
Victor: What do you care where Nikki is? She didn't do a damn thing.
Ronan: Well, that's yet to be determined. Where is she, Victor?
Victor: I know who killed Diane Jenkins. You're looking at him. I killed her.
Ronan: You're covering for her.
Victor: And I almost got away with it, didn't I? Because you're stupid. But you're not gonna prosecu--prosecute Nikki, not for a crime I committed, okay?
Ronan: You did it?
Ronan: How'd you do it?
Victor: How'd I do it? I injected the bitch. That's how I did it.
Ronan: You injected her with what?
Victor: Yeah, with that-- that--that--that--that-- what was it called? It was succinylcholine or whatever the hell it is. Magic, Baby, it's magic. (Makes whooshing sound) You just inject it in their body and it goes limp. (Chuckles) But she stayed conscious. That's what I wanted, because I wanted her to-- I wanted her to know it when I bashed her in the head. You understand that? I wanted her to suffer the way she--she made me suffer, all of us suffer.
Ronan: That a fact?
Victor: Yeah, it's a fact. Oh, look who--ask him. Ask my boy. Hey, Adam. You-- you--you tell this arrogant son of a bitch. You tell him. Tell him, when you were there that night, and I killed-- I killed Diane Jenkins. Tell him.
Nick: I can't sell "Restless Style" to Billy.
Victoria: Why not?
Nick: I can't sell it to anyone, not until I figure out what I'm gonna do next.
Nick: You know, I thought this magazine was it. When I started it, it was something new, and it was something that was my own.
Victoria: Okay, well, what about another something new?
Nick: Well, yeah, clearly, but what?
Victoria: I don't know, Nick. I mean, I'm right there with you. I'm just trying to figure out what's next for me professionally, and I realized something, sitting here with you, that we keep coming back to the same answer, and yet, we never follow through with it.
Nick: Going into business together.
Victoria: Yeah, yeah. I mean, with the Newman name and our experience and funding, we could build something innovative and something fun, something that would last.
Nick: As equal partners.
Victoria: Totally equal.
Victoria: Hey. Uh, how did it go with Jack?
Billy: Uh, well, he offered me a fantastic position I'd be a fool to turn down.
Victoria: Did you take it?
Billy: I'm not sure I want to take it.
Ashley: Every time I look at our thanksgiving numbers, I just get the chills!
Jack: It is all thanks to your new line.
Ashley: Oh! And your distribution.
Jack: All indications point to a very profitable Christmas and first quarter.
Ashley: We are a hit!
Jack: We are. That being said, I want to propose something for next year. It's very challenging, but it's doable.
Ashley: Yeah, well, what do you have in mind? It might be a great time to push the envelope.
Jack: I think it's time to go after Beauty of Nature.
Ashley: Oh, no. No.
Jack: Why not? You and Tucker were pursuing it very actively--
Ashley: We don't need it, we don't need it. Jabot is doing beautifully on its own. We're rebranding, we're rebuilding. It's time to focus on the company we've got, not start looking into acquiring a division of a company we don't.
Jack: I think you're being shortsighted.
Ashley: You're overreaching.
Jack: Everything is going great for us. Billy is home, Delia is well, you're happily married, I have this wonderful new person in my life-- when good fortune is smiling on you, you gotta run with it.
Ashley: You don't risk it, Jack.
Jack: Ashley, Jabot is ours again. It's doing great. I think it can do even better.
Ashley: You're so happy.
Jack: I am happy.
Jack: I can't remember when I last felt this positive about the future.
Ronan: Is it true? Did you witness your father murdering Diane Jenkins?
Victor: Tell him, Boy. Tell him. Victor: Tell him!
Adam: Yeah. I saw the whole thing. He killed her, just like he said, just like I've been saying this whole time.
Victor: I despise the bitch... the way I despise you, for dragging me into your puny little police station, accusing me of all kinds of crimes I didn't commit, and now... I committed cold-blooded murder, and you didn't get it, did you? You ain't too bright, are you? You stupid, arrogant son of a bitch!
Ronan: Cuff him. Victor Newman, you're under arrest for the murder of Diane Jenkins.
Emily: (Sighs) It's--it's Emily, Jack.
Jack: How do I know it's you?
Emily: If you give me a moment, I can prove it.
Michael: What the hell is going on?
Victor: I'm having my picture taken.
Michael: You're booking him?
Ronan: Take him.
Michael: What is with you and this murder? Have you just decided any Newman will do? You had Nikki in here earlier. Now you have Victor. Why has my client been arrested?
Ronan: Because your client confessed to murdering Diane Jenkins.
(Cell phone rings) (Rings) (Rings)
Adam: I know you probably don't want to hear my voice.
Sharon: That's right.
Adam: Something just happened. I thought you'd want to know right away.
Sharon: What? Is it Noah?
Adam: No. No, it's-- it's m-- my father. Turns out he killed Diane.
Sharon: That is a disgusting lie.
Adam: I just witnessed him confessing himself. The police just took him into custody.
Sharon: He couldn't have done that.
Adam: Yeah, but he says he did.
Sharon: I have to go.
Sharon: Victor. Oh, my God.
Victoria: You know, it's a fantastic opportunity.
Billy: Yeah, yeah, that's what I was thinking.
Victoria: Okay, but if it's not right for you, Billy, you shouldn't take it.
Billy: Hey, hey, can we do this later? Nick probably thinks I'm still angling for him to sell me "Restless Style."
Nick: Your wife's been taking care of that for you.
Victoria: Yeah, sorry. I couldn't help myself.
Billy: Honey, you don't need to do that. Nick said no. I respect that. I understand. It's fine, okay?
Nick: Well, maybe you should thank her.
Nick: I've changed my mind. I'm gonna sell you back "Restless Style."
Billy: Really? You're gonna sell it?
Nick: Yeah. This might sound impulsive, but working at the magazine just doesn't excite me anymore. I've always wanted to work with my sister, so...
Billy: Thank you very much. Mwah!
Victoria: Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Billy: (Laughs) (Sighs)
Jack: Well, no one else would know about our Christmas in August, that's for sure.
Emily: (Laughs) Yeah.
Jack: I wasn't sure I'd ever hear from you again.
Emily: I was... going to call, many times.
Jack: Somehow, you never dialed.
Jack: You decided to drive all this way instead?
Emily: I was in town, and I, uh, thought I should just stop by and... let you know that I, uh, I still think of you.
Jack: I still think of you, too.
Ashley: So I thought about everything that happened.
Tucker: So have I.
Ashley: Okay, but you were right. Emily is not Patty, and you've had success working with Emily, so you should continue to work with her if you want to.
Tucker: Wait, wait, wait. Hold on. I've already told Dr. Peterson that I can't be her patient any longer.
Ashley: Thank you so much. I appreciate that, I really do.
Tucker: You're welcome. There's something else you should know.
Tucker: I talked to the doctor in person. She's here in town.
Ashley: Wha--oh, come on. Is she moving back here? Did she say?
Tucker: I don't think she's gonna stick around. (Sighs) I'm--I'm sorry.
(Cell phone alert chimes)
Ashley: What? What is it?
Tucker: Victor's been arrested for Diane's murder.
Ashley: (Sets cup down)
Tucker: He confessed.
Ashley: That's ridiculous. Victor did not kill Diane. There has to be another reason why he said he did.
Tucker: You know, I just find it interesting that, uh, you still had doubts about my involvement in Diane's murder, and even after hearing that Victor has confessed, you're insisting that he's innocent.
Sharon: Yes, departing from Albuquerque. I need the next available flight to Genoa City.
Paul: Hey, Spencer.
Spencer: Hey, Paul. The pressure on Nikki is what finally broke Victor.
Ronan: So it would seem.
Spencer: I mean, it took some time to get here, but in the end, it wasn't hard to get the confession we needed. Good work.
Paul: Victor confessed?
Ronan: Victor... broke down and told all. It was that easy.
Paul: That seems too easy.
Michael: (Sighs) Okay, Victor, just focus on me. Please, just listen. You confessed. Are you kidding me with this?
(Cell phone rings)
Victor: Yes. The cop's at the front gate? With an arrest warrant for Nikki? Okay.
Adam: "Breaking news. Drunk and disorderly Victor Newman seen being dragged into the Genoa City police station." (Chuckles)
Adam: (Exhales slowly)
Nikki: Oh, my God. (Sighs) Ohh. (Sighs) Oh... (Sighs) (Sighs) Victor? (Sighs) Victor? Where are you? Ow. (Sighs)
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Sharon: Victor, look me in the eye and tell me that you killed Diane.
Victor: I am guilty.
Nikki: I don't believe you, and I don't think Michael believes you.
