Episode # 9632 ~ Sofia Reveals a Secret to Malcolm

Provided By Suzanne
Proofread By Emma

Lily: I don't know how Charlie and Humphrey were able to sleep through all that noise that you were making. Huh? How were they? But, you know, your brother does take after your daddy.

Matilda: Mm.

Lily: I just miss him so much. Maybe that's why I see him, hmm? Do you ever see daddy? Hmm? Does he ever come to visit you? I really wish that you could answer me, so that way... (Sighs) I would know that I'm not crazy. But you know what? Even though... I don't know if your daddy's been coming to visit us, but I know that it's past time that I go and see him. Right?

Neil: Leslie.

Leslie: Hey.

Neil: Hey, good to see you.

Leslie: Hey, so, um, how'd your meeting go?

Neil: My meeting? Um... honestly, it's, uh, it's been a very rough morning.

Leslie: I heard about Sharon. Wow.

Neil: (Sighs)

Leslie: And then I realized from a couple things you said you two were friends.

Neil: You know, when my, uh, wife was alive, um, they hung out a lot together.

Leslie: Mm-hmm.

Neil: Now that Sharon is, uh, okay, wait. Now, well, hold on. I get it. I--now I understand why you invited me to lunch-- because you knew how hard her death would hit me.

Leslie: You--you know-- you know what? I will have you know, Neil Winters, that I have a very busy, sometimes demanding, professional life.

Neil: Ahh. Point being?

Leslie: I invited you here for several reasons-- two primary.

Neil: Oh, I'm intrigued.

Leslie: Mm.

Neil: And they are?

Leslie: I enjoy your company, and I, uh, I find you quite attractive.

Neil: Thank you.

Leslie: Mm-hmm.

Neil: And in the spirit of, um, full disclosure, you should know that I accepted your invitation for similar reasons, plus two of my own.

Leslie: Those being?

Neil: This feels good, and I'm very curious where it will go from here.

Leslie: Ooh. (Chuckles)

Man: Mr. And Mrs. Winters, welcome to St. Bart’s.

Sofia: Oh, Malcolm. You ordered all this?

Man: Its compliments of the hotel.

Sofia: Oh. (Chuckles)

Man: We have champagne and some local delicacies-- almonds, passion fruit, tamarind.

Malcolm: Hey, great, great. Thanks. Thanks a lot. Thank the management for us, please.

Man: Yeah.

Malcolm: All right, uh, Baby, um...

Sofia: Oh, I-I have some change in my purse. Uh, where did I put it?

Malcolm: Here.

Sofia: Let's see. Uh... uh, you know what? Here you go. Um, thank you so much.

Man: Thank you.

Malcolm: Baby? You got something you want to tell me?

Sofia: Uh...

Neil: Thanks. You know, it's too bad that you only got to know Sharon as a client.

Leslie: Yeah. How long did you know her?

Neil: Sharon? Oh, gosh.

Leslie: Yeah.

Neil: I knew her-- what? Since she was practically a little kid. For her to die so suddenly, I-I--Leslie, I just-- I-I can't believe it, you know? Victor looked like he had been hit by a train.

Leslie: You saw him? Is he still angry with you?

Neil: (Chuckles) Is he angry with me? Well, Victor doesn't forgive very easily.

Leslie: All you did was tell the truth.

Neil: In a lawsuit that Victor lost. You know, he sees that as betrayal.

Leslie: Well, you know what? Hey, you were still there for him. Adam! Adam. I am so sorry. (Sighs)

Neil: Hey, Adam, I'm sorry, too. I mean, we--we'll all miss Sharon very much.

Leslie: Y-y-you look like you're about to collapse, Adam.

Adam: Yeah, I had, uh, um, I'm just getting a room here. Yeah, I, um, I-I don't know if I can stay at Sharon's place. The thought of being there without her...

Spencer: You won't have to. The city will be providing accommodations for a while. You're under arrest.

Leslie: What? What's the charge?

Adam: What are you talking about?

Spencer: Aiding and abetting the escape of a felon.

Man: You have the right to remain silent.

Leslie: Adam, don't say a word. I will meet you at the police station, okay?

Neil: All right, good luck. Good luck, Buddy. Listen, we will pick up where we left off, all right?

Leslie: Okay.

Neil: I'm--I'm sorry this is happening.

Leslie: I'm sorry. Okay.

Neil: I know. No problem.

Nick: I flew home as fast as I could.

Noah: Faith's with Grandma.

Nick: Yeah, I was just there.

Noah: She was pretty wired, like she knows something's wrong. You know, how do little kids do that? They pick up on stuff like that.

Nick: I don't know. A-are you hungry? Do you want me to make you something to eat?

Noah: You know, people have been trying to throw food at me ever since I got back. (Sighs)

Nick: Son, I am so sorry that I wasn't here when all that went down. I was trying to find your mom. Phyllis and I tracked Adam to St. Martin.

Noah: You thought he knew where Mom was?

Nick: I still do. Adam knew we were tailing him. He just led us on this wild-goose chase. The whole time, your mom was...

Noah: I still can't believe she's gone.

Noah: (Sighs)

Sharon: Stay away from me.

Malcolm: You think you might be pregnant?

Sofia: I-I-it could be nothing.

Malcolm: Well, I mean, you were sick at the reception.

Sofia: It could have just been a 24-hour bug, or I was just really nervous about the wedding. My system could be off-kilter.

Malcolm: Or you could be pregnant.

Sofia: Well, I didn't want to say anything until I knew for sure.

Malcolm: Well, Sofia, I mean, the box says we can find out in five minutes. We could be pregnant. All you gotta do is take the test. Take the test. Take it now.

Sofia: (Sighs)

Malcolm: (Sighs)

(Cell phone rings)

Neil: Hey, Baby.

Lily: Hey, Dad, um, can you do me a favor?

Neil: Sure. Name it.

Lily: Can you just come over here early to watch the twins? I have to run an errand before I go to my appointment.

Neil: Yeah. When do you need me?

Lily: Uh, now? But only if you're not too busy.

Neil: Hey, hey. As a matter of fact, I'm suddenly free.

Nick: (Sighs)

Noah: (Sighs) The fridge is full, too. (Chuckles) I guess people feel like they need to do or say something... but none of it really helps.

Nick: They're just showing they care about you and Faith and your mom.

Noah: Yeah, it's just really sad for Faith, you know? I mean, most of the bad stuff like... like thinking about Mom in the car crash... she--she's too little to understand. But she's also too little to remember Mom, too, and how much she loved her. (Sighs) How she even fought you in court so she could see Faith every day.

Nick: For what it's worth, I never wanted Faith to lose her mother.

Noah: I'm not blaming you. I'm just... I'm pissed as hell at Mom for dying, and I'm--I'm kicking myself for the things I said to her.

Nick: You mean at the jail?

Noah: (Sighs) I told her she let us down.

Nick: Son, you were just telling her how you felt.

Noah: Yeah. (Sighs) But the way it came off, she probably thought I hated her.

Nick: No.

Noah: (Sighs)

Nick: No, she didn't. She told me. That day when you came to visit her at court, it meant everything to her. So when you think about that last day, I want you to think that you made your mom very, very happy.

Noah: (Sighs)

Spencer: The cops trailed you. We know you went to St. Martin.

Leslie: Which isn't a crime.

Spencer: It wasn't, until he ditched the tail, and all of a sudden, ended up in New Mexico where Sharon happened to be. New Mexico was a prearranged rendezvous point for you two, wasn't it?

Leslie: May I have a moment alone with my client, please?

Adam: No, Leslie, it's okay. I'll tell him. I went to St. Martin just to get away from everything.

Spencer: Because that's what guys always do when their fiancée is convicted of murder and escapes custody. They head for the tropics.

Adam: You want a confession? I'll confess.

Leslie: Adam.

Adam: No, it's okay. I left Genoa City because I thought that Sharon would try and contact me, and she did.

Spencer: Coincidentally.

Adam: She was freaked out and worried. But I finally got her to tell me where she was staying.

Spencer: And instead of going to the cops, you went and joined her.

Adam: That's right, because that's what I do. I loved her, and I was worried about her. But by the time that I got there... by the time I got there, she was gone.

Man: Whoa. Settle down. Settle down. You got nothing to be afraid of. I'm not gonna hurt you. Y--

Sharon: No, don't move. Don't move.

Man: It's my cell phone, okay? Just relax. I'm happy to call the sheriff, if you like, if that would make you feel better. Oh, that's probably not a good idea, though, is it? Seeing as how you're trespassing in my barn, I can pretty much guarantee how he's gonna see it.

Sharon: (Sighs) Look, it--it's my fault, okay? I-I didn't mean to fall asleep here. I was--I was just passing through.

Man: Well, that must have taken some doin'. I mean, its way off the beaten path.

Sharon: Well, the reason for that is because I, uh, got lost. I was hiking.

Man: Well, isn't that somethin'? Don't get many hikers out here. (Chuckles) Especially in those kind of shoes. Well, come on in.

Sharon: Wait. Where?

Man: Let's go inside, get you something to eat, make some phone calls, get you back to wherever you need to be.

Sharon: The thing is, I... I don't have anywhere to go.

Sofia: Well, I took it.

Malcolm: (Sighs) Wow. It's gonna be the longest five minutes of my life. (Sighs)

Sofia: Yeah, mine, too.

Neil: You know, it seems like yesterday I was holding Lily in my arms just like this, hmm? Oh, little baby, it goes so fast. You know, you blink and the people that you care about, they're gone. Yeah. Dru... then Cane, and now Sharon. (Sighs) But you know what you do, Matty? You and your brother?

Matilda: (Babbles)

Neil: Yes, you and your brother, you give us hope. Yes, you do. And you give us strength to carry on. Mm. You're such a gift, such a gift from God. A baby is the most precious thing in the entire world.

Matilda: (Babbles)

Neil: Oh, Grandpa loves you. I love you very much, Matty. I love you very much, Baby. Yes. Aw.

Lily: You have a tombstone. They told me they received it, but this just... makes it so real. You're never gonna sleep next to me again... or put your arms around me, because you're gone. Your body is in... that grave. I mean, there's your name carved in the granite. So why do I keep looking over my shoulder expecting to see you? Why do I feel like things aren't over between us? (Sighs) What is that? Paris? Humphrey? Gemini. The twins.

Lily: (Sighs)

Nick: (Sighs)

Doris: I tried to talk some sense into Sharon when she came to see me.

Noah: When was that?

Doris: Oh, right after she escaped. I should have called the police. God, I couldn't do it to my own child. If I had, she'd be back in jail, but at least she'd still be alive.

Nick: Doris, don't... (Sighs) Do this to yourself, all right? We've all been feeling like we made mistakes, wished that we had done things differently, but ultimately, this happened because of the choices that Sharon made.

Man: So you don't have a home?

Sharon: I just-- I needed some time away. Just time to think. So I'll-- I'll get out of your way.

Man: How you plannin' on doin' that?

Sharon: (Sighs)

Man: I don't see a car or supplies. Next farmhouse is 3 miles away.

Sharon: And the nearest town?

Man: 10.

Sharon: Great. Well, I better get going then while there's still some light.

Man: Well, if you're gonna, at least do me a favor-- hug the middle of the road and sing or whistle or somethin' while you walk.

Sharon: Why?

Man: So that the black bears know you're comin'. If you make noise, then they'll scat before you run up on 'em.

Sharon: I'll keep that in mind.

Man: If you're bound and determined to go, at least help yourself to one of my blankets, please.

Sharon: Thank you.

(Ewe bleats)

Man: Okay, that doesn't sound good. Okay.

Sharon: What is it?

Man: Well, my ewe's about to give birth. Uh, you know what? I got a plastic bag on the front porch. Would you go get it? Go. Now!

Spencer: Sharon's escape was carefully planned. Someone made her the fake I.D., got her the car, set her up to go on the run. She sure as hell couldn't do it while she was in custody.

Leslie: Adam was giving a televised interview while Sharon was escaping, so...

Adam: You think I came up with the perfect escape plan? Then why would I be here? Why would Sharon... we would have disappeared, and none of you would have ever seen us.

Spencer: I don't believe you.

Leslie: Yeah, it's not what you believe that matters, but what you can prove. Either charge my client or release him.

Spencer: You can go, but don't leave town.

Man: The medical examiner received Sharon Newman's remains. There's a problem.

Spencer: How the hell did this happen? There was a mix-up in New Mexico. The body was cremated before it was shipped.

Adam: What?

Leslie: What, so you can't confirm her identity? Are--are those her things?

Spencer: Sharon's purse was thrown from the vehicle before it caught fire, but the body was badly burnt beyond recognition. This is definitely her fake passport and license. And the M.E. report shows that the cause of death was consistent with the car accident. Height and weight of the body was the same as Sharon's.

Adam: I saw the body. It was, uh, it was Sharon. She was wearing my engagement ring.

Spencer: I accept the I.D. of the body. Tell the coroner that he can release the remains.

Adam: I'd like to, uh, I'd like to claim them.

Spencer: Next of kin needs to make arrangements with the medical examiner. You need a marriage license and a birth certificate.

Leslie: (Sighs)

Adam: How is that, uh, how is that even fair? How--how can he do that?

Leslie: I-I know. I'm sorry, Adam.

Adam: You know Sharon's next of kin. They don't even care about her. They don't deserve to lay her to rest. There's gotta be something we can do.

Doris: I, uh, need to start making arrangements. But every time I think about it, um...

Nick: We'll help you however we can.

Doris: Adam was here earlier.

Noah: What did he want?

Doris: He's the one who told me about Sharon. He said he loved her. He loved her, all right. He loved her to death.

(Cell phone rings) (Ring)

Noah: Hello? Y-yes, this is her son. Sure. Yeah, I'll be right there.

Noah: The, um, coroner wants to see me about Mom's... about Mom.

Doris: You go on. I'll be fine.

Nick: (Sighs) We'll, uh, we'll be back, and, uh, we'll figure out a way to say good-bye to Sharon.

Doris: Thank you. Thank you. Oh, my baby.

Noah: (Sighs)

Sharon: Here.

Man: (Sighs) Great. Thank you. Uh, you know what? Grab us a couple blankets, will ya? And towels--behind the door. Right behind you. Come on, Girl.

(Ewe bleats)

Man: Easy.

Sharon: All right, here.

Man: Great, great, great.

Sharon: Are they gonna be all right?

Man: Okay. (Sighs) Well, I hope so. Welcome to the world. Here you go.

Sharon: Oh, okay.

Man: (Sighs) Do me a favor-- use the towel to wipe her nose off. Just get the mucus off so she doesn't suffocate.

Sharon: Oh.

Man: And if you'll give me a second, I'll just be right back.

Sharon: Hi. Hi. Hi.

(Lamb bleats)

Sharon: Oh, wow. How did you know what to do?

Man: Uh, just a few tricks I picked up during four years of undergrad, four years of veterinary school and three years of residency.

(Lamb bleats)

Sharon: Oh. So you're a vet.

Man: I am.

Sharon: I just thought you were... I mean, I don't know what I thought you were.

Man: (Sighs)

(Lamb bleats)

Man: (Sighs)

Sharon: Oh. You want me to feed her?

Man: I do. I'm afraid her mom's not up to it just yet. And, you know, a little trick-- if you tickle her tail, it'll help her relax, feel more comfortable, and help her suck better.

Sharon: Come on.

Man: (Laughs) There you go.

Sharon: (Chuckles)

Man: Well, since we've given birth together, I am Sam Gibson. Most folks around here call me "Doc." And folks call you?

Sharon: Shar-- um, Sheri. Sheri Coleman.

Sam: Well, it's nice to meet you, Sheri Coleman. I guess it's a good thing you happened into my barn.

(Lamb sucking)

Sharon: There. (Gasps) I think it was.

Sam: Hungry.

Sharon: (Chuckles)

Leslie: Hey, sorry our lunch was interrupted.

Neil: That's okay. Um, how's your client?

Leslie: Grieving, but at least he's not in jail. So, um, any chance we could pick up right where we left off?

Neil: Well, right now, I'm at my daughter's house, and, uh, I'm actually babysitting, aren't I?

(Makes kissing sounds)

Leslie: Oh.

Neil: Maybe you could come over here. I'll tell you what, let me give you the address. Um, it's 1101 Lavetta Terrace.

Leslie: Oh, okay. I'll do that.

Neil: I'll see you soon. Bye. Whoo. You know what? That was Leslie. That's right. Can you say, "Leslie"? I think we're dating. Right? I think you're right about that. I do like her.

Malcolm: So are we pregnant or not?

Sofia: I couldn't look.

Malcolm: We're havin' a baby. (Laughs)

Sofia: (Laughs)

Malcolm: (Sighs happily) (Laughs)

Sofia: (Sighs)

Malcolm: Aren't you happy?

Sofia: (Stammers) Shocked. (Chuckles) You?

Malcolm: We gotta tell somebody. We gotta tell somebody.

Sofia: Oh, no, no, Malcolm. We can't tell anybody. No, it's too soon.

Malcolm: When do you--when-- when--when do you want--when do you want to tell somebody? When--when--when can we-- when can we--

Sofia: Um, a-after I-- after I talk to my doctor back home, all right?

Malcolm: Okay.

Sofia: But listen, Sweetheart, for now, why don't we keep this our little secret, okay?

Malcolm: Okay, Baby. (Laughs)

Sofia: (Sighs)

Lily: Did somebody leave these for Cane? How would they kn-- maybe Cane left them for me.

Woman: Excuse me.

Lily: (Gasps) Gosh, I-I'm sorry. I didn't know that anybody was here.

Woman: I didn't mean to intrude, but I can see that you're in a great deal of pain.

Lily: Who are you?

Woman: I am so sorry you lost your husband.

Lily: How did you know that I--

Woman: I think I can help you.

Lily: How did you know I just lost my husband?

Woman: Look, I don't mean to upset you. I-I'm Judi Dorsey.

Lily: Should that mean something to me?

Judi: Oh, absolutely not. It's just, uh, I have a gift. Sometimes when I come here, I sense things, and I felt something so powerful around you. I guess you could say I was drawn to you.

Lily: What-- what did you feel?

Judi: Your husband. He's right here with you.

Leslie: Well, it was nice to see the twins I've been hearing so much about, even if they were sleeping.

Neil: Yeah, right?

Leslie: Yeah.

Neil: Well, you know what happened? You just missed Matty, because she fell asleep right before you arrived. Sit down.

Leslie: (Sighs) I'm glad you invited me over.

Neil: Yeah, me, too.

Leslie: Yeah.

Neil: So, um, have you had any lunch?

Leslie: No. I'm starving.

Neil: Boy, isn't that funny? I'm starving, too.

Leslie: Okay.

Neil: Why don't I go, uh, whip something up, all right?

Leslie: Mm-hmm.

Neil: Be right back.

Leslie: Okay.

Malcolm: Wow. Wow.

(Telephone rings)

Neil: Malcolm.

Malcolm: Hey, Bro.

Neil: Hey, is everything okay? Uh, did you-- did you miss your plane or something?

Malcolm: Oh, no, Man. Everything is great. Honeymoon's going great, Neil. Um, I just called to check on Lily and the babies. How you guys doin', Man?

Neil: Everybody's fine. Um, Lily's out doin' her thing, and I'm here sittin' with, uh, Charlie and Matty.

Malcolm: Okay. She's got you on babysittin' duty, huh? (Laughs) Well, it's good you're gettin' some practice in, Big Bro, 'cause, uh, we gonna be callin' on you real soon.

Neil: Why--why would you be, uh, calling?

Malcolm: Neil, Sofia's pregnant.

Neil: What?

Malcolm: I know. I know. I mean, it--it-- we--we just found out. I mean, I-I'm in shock, too, still, Man. (Chuckles)

Leslie: Is something wrong?

Neil: Um, so, uh, so, uh, Malcolm, that's-- that's great. Give me some--some details. (Stammers) What's happening?

Malcolm: Hang on. (Chuckles)

Sofia: (Whispers) Just say--

Malcolm: (Whispering) No, come on. I'm sorry, Baby. I'm just so excited!

Sofia: (Normal voice) Hi, Neil. (Chuckles)

Neil: Hi, Sofia. Is it true?

Sofia: Yes, a-according to the pregnancy test.

Neil: (Sighs) So when is the baby due?

Sofia: Um, I'm not sure. I'm gonna go to the doctor as soon as we get back in town, okay?

Malcolm: (Normal voice) Hey, hey, hey, Bro. Um, look, I-I want to go celebrate with the wife now, all right? Um, Man, when we get back. It's on. (Chuckles) Yeah, Man, we gonna party. Oh, believe it. Hey, Man, love you, Bro. All right. Talk to you soon.

Neil: Yeah. All right. Take care.

Sharon: This was an extraordinary experience.

Sam: You know, I hate to send you off just when it's gettin' dark. You can use this place, if you like. It's got a bed, stovetop, bathroom.

Sharon: Um, I thought maybe a ranch hand lived here or something.

Sam: Eh, mostly I use it if one of my patients needs round-the-clock care, you know? But you're welcome to it.

Sharon: I don't know.

Sam: It's clean, warm, safe, it's got a big ol' lock on the barn door. You know, you can keep the pitchfork by the bed if you like. It's a good thinkin' spot. All that figuring out you said you needed to do-- you're welcome to start it here if you like.

[Adam remembering]

Sharon: What are you doing?

Adam: The sun, the moon, the stars.

Sharon: (Laughs) Adam, get up.

Adam: No. No, no, no. I am staying right here...

Sharon: (Laughs)

Adam: Until you promise to forgive me.

Sharon: Adam.

Adam: Say you'll forgive me.

Sharon: Okay, I forgive you. (Chuckles)

Adam: You see something in me only one other person ever has. My mother believed I was capable of being a good person. She made me believe it. Then I moved here. Everything changed. I stopped.

Sharon: Believing?

Adam: Living. I didn't care about anyone or anything. Now I do. I-I don't know what I've done to deserve you.

Adam: (Sniffles) Listen, there's, uh, there's gotta be a way that I can claim Sharon's remains. (Sniffles)

Man: I'm sorry, there's-- there's nothin' I can do.

Adam: (Sighs) You don't understand. I, uh... (Sniffles) I was all she had. There was nobody else there that cared about her.

Malcolm: Well, I was gonna bring this on our walk, but, uh, I guess we're gonna have to find some sparkling cider. (Chuckles)

Sofia: Good idea.

Malcolm: You know what? I'm gonna get my camera. We're gonna definitely need some pictures to remember this day.

Leslie: (Sighs) So I guess this was a surprise.

Neil: Mm. Yeah, yeah, yeah, a big one.

Leslie: Is this your brother's first baby?

Neil: Hmm?

Leslie: Your brother's first baby?

Neil: Oh, yeah, uh, Leslie, I'm sorry. Yeah, it's complicated, you know? It, uh, it's the first time that Malcolm has known that he's havin' a baby.

Leslie: Oh.

Lily: Tell me-- what are you sensing from Cane?

Judi: Mm, his love is still with you. Don't you feel it?

Lily: Yeah, I mean, actually, I have thought that I've seen Cane.

Judi: Mm-hmm.

Lily: And I've even heard his voice. I mean, I-is that even possible, or--

Judi: I believe it is, especially with your husband. His presence and love are so strong.

Lily: Yeah. Uh, do you know anything about these?

Judi: I'm not getting anything. What are they?

Lily: I don't know. I don't, um, and I know this sounds weird, but I've just been getting this feeling like Cane is angry with me.

Judi: Why would you think that?

Lily: I don't know. I just--I-I've been getting this feeling, like this-- this sense of--of--of menace, which I don't understand, because he was never disapproving or harsh with me, ever.

Judi: No, there's no negativity coming from Cane. All--all I feel from him is love.

Lily: Are you sure?

Judi: Absolutely. But that menacing feeling...

Lily: You think there's something to that, or--

Judi: Well, Cane apparently does. He feels the need to protect you.

Lily: Protect me from what?

Man: Give this number to the funeral home.

Nick: Thank you.

Adam: Nicholas, since, uh, since things weren't so great between you and Sharon at the end, I think, uh, I'd like to handle this.

Nick: Sharon has a son and a mother who will be handling this.

Adam: Well, can I at least be involved?

Nick: No.

Adam: Noah... I'm very sorry about your mom. But I think this should be about what she wants, and I think she would want me included.

Noah: (Scoffs) You want to be included? Here, a memento.

Adam: (Sighs)

Noah: A reminder of what happens to Mom when she's with you.

Sam: You know, I can go up to the house and bring you back some food and supplies if you like.

Sharon: Maybe just for tonight.

Sam: As long as you need.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Chloe: What does Daniel say about this?

Kevin: I don't care. I need to find my niece.

Victoria: Do you trust Daniel?

Lily: I mean, you kept Lucy's identity a secret because you thought it was best for her.

Daniel: But it's just getting harder and harder to keep quiet.
