Neil: So I walked in on something before. Uh, did the doctor have news?
Lily: Uh, no. No news. W-well, I mean, not from the doctor.
Lily: But, um, uh, Dad, you know Cane and I want to have a baby. Um, well, we might be ready to try now.
Murphy: He was stabbed by some--some guy trying to rob the coffee shop. He was off duty.
Jill: And he didn't have a gun to protect himself with. He only had this.
Kay: Nina. God, Darling, what--what'd the doctor say?
Nina: The--the knife cut his spleen, and they're gonna try and re-repair the damage.
Jill: What if they can't?
Nina: They remove the organ.
Kay: Oh, no, no, no, no.
Phillip: He's gonna be okay. He's--he's gon-- he's gonna be fine.
Jill: No, he is. He is. He's gonna be fine. (Sighs)
Phyllis: So Victoria's okay with the settlement?
Nick: She would have fought. But now she gets to channel that energy into fighting for her marriage instead.
Phyllis: Right. So Newman takes the hit because of what your dad did in the grand Caymans?
Nick: (Sighs) We have to make it right for those people that had money in the bank.
Phyllis: You are so sexy when you're socially responsible, you know that?
Nick: Oh, yeah?
(Knock on door)
Jack: Hey, can-- I'm sorry. Bad time?
Phyllis: Uh, no, not if you don't want to get pelted with raw eggs.
Nick: Yeah, come on in, Jack. We were just discussing the S.E.C. settlement that was brought on because your brother had the little Cayman mention in "Restless Style."
Jack: Actually, that is in part why I am here. I heard you were gonna try to make good on those losses. That's damn impressive. Remaking the Newman image with class and decency. You're a better man than your father could ever be, and it's gonna make you a better businessman.
Phyllis: Wow. You want to kiss his ring?
Jack: I am being perfectly sincere here.
Nick: Yeah, of course you are, Jack.
Jack: Okay, you want real sincere? I hate your dad. Surprise, huh? Okay, look, I-I'm not exactly swimming in friends and family right now. Look, if I've done something to tick you off, I'd like to talk about it, try to smooth the waters.
Phyllis: Shark-infested waters.
Jack: I'm not saying it's going to happen quickly or easily, but I thought maybe this could be a start. That we could toast your ascension to the throne. May it always be yours.
Billy: (Sighs) This is great. Thank you for meeting me in my temp space.
Man: You will be back in your office.
Billy: Good. I'm sorry, are we interrupting your texting life?
Chloe: I just should have heard from Chance by now. Um, okay. Mr. Lawyer, thank you very much. Mr. Editor, I will check you later.
Billy: Sure. Okay. Thank you for your help.
Billy: Uh-huh. Bye. (Grumbles)
Man: Same last name. I-I thought you two were married, but I-- (Chuckles) So brother and sister?
Billy: Uh, no. (Chuckles) Not--not-- not brother and sister. Actually, we were married. But she signed the divorce papers today, so now she is free to go chasing whatever Boy Scout floats her boat.
Chloe: Come on, Chance. Pick up. I've got good news.
Chloe: Oh, uh, hi. I'm trying to reach Chancellor-- uh, Detective Chancellor. I'm sorry. I must have the wrong phone number.
Jill: Chloe, its Jill.
Chloe: Jill, what are you-- what are you doing on Chance's phone?
Jill: He-- Chance has been hurt.
Neil: A baby, huh? Now might not be the right time to think about that.
Lily: Dad, I know you're scared, and that's okay. But when I think about having a baby, our baby...
Neil: Um, I should check in on Katherine, you know? Cane, you ready?
Cane: Do you want me to stay a while?
Lily: No, it's okay. I might rest my eyes.
Cane: Well, you get some sleep, all right?
Cane: And if you need me...
Lily: I know.
Cane: You know how to get me, right? Okay?
Lily: I know. Hey, I'm really sorry that your family is going through this. But we did have some good news today, right?
Cane: We had some amazing news today.
Lily: Okay. Well, tell them that my prayers are with Chance.
Cane: I will. I love you, baby.
Lily: I love you. (Sighs)
Phyllis: Once this S.E.C. stuff settles, we'll be a normal couple again. Yeah, I know, somewhat normal. Right. You know, why don't we ditch the guys and do a spa day? It sounds a lot better. I know it might be crazy, but we could do that. Oh, is that Fen? Okay, I'll let you go. Bye.
Jack: So what's it gonna be? Shall I pop the champagne, or would you rather just have some scotch?
Nick: Scotch is fine.
Jack: Well, scotch sounds good to me, too. So I can only imagine how hectic your life is right now with the phone calls and the meetings in between inspirational speeches to rally the troops.
Nick: I've led the company before, Jack. The staff will get used to it.
Jack: You're not gonna make this easy for me, are you?
Nick: How can I? You cost this company a lot of money.
Jack: Well, you could always do what your old man did-- bob and weave and tell the little people to eat cake.
Nick: My father's not here at the moment.
Jack: No. You are. And you deserve to be, and I am incredibly proud of you.
Nick: Okay, so are you really here to play the proud stepfather role, or are you doing some recon work, looking for my weakness? I'm not my father. We both know that. But I learned a long time ago that I always have to watch my back.
Jack: It is good to be cautious.
Nick: Well, you ain't kiddin'. With you and Billy and Adam around--
Jack: Oh, that barracuda brother of yours still swimming around? Nothing like family to twist the knife, is it?
Nick: You're clearly not talking about Traci or Ashley, so you must be talking about Billy. But, Jack, you and Billy wrote that article together. So what's happened since then?
Jack: You've been breathing some rarified air in this room.
Nick: Yeah, and you just dodged the question.
Jack: I want to talk about you. What is it got to be like, going to the club, getting backslapped by all the C.E.O.s, having Katherine Chancellor-- okay, Katherine Chancellor's the only person in this town that's at your level anymore. I assume she's called you to set up a lunch by now.
Nick: Katherine and I are very good friends. That's not news to anyone.
Jack: Then she has been in touch in the last few days.
Nick: Look, I appreciate the champagne and you pouring me some scotch from my own bar, but, Jack, what are you doing here? What are you looking for?
Billy: Your receptionist is not at her desk. Now it's injunction time. There is no way that you can boot me from my office.
Jill: She's been really worried about you. Why don't you go talk to her?
Cane: Hey, you doin' okay?
Jill: Yeah, I'm fine. Oh, I'm sorry.
Phillip: Oh, no, it's okay. I-I-it's me. I'm just, uh...
Jill: Scared? No matter how long you've been gone, I still know you, baby.
Phillip: We were so close to getting this rift fixed-- Chance and I, you know? The door was wide open, and now...
Jill: And now your worst fear is that he won't be in the world anymore. See, I had the same fear in this exact spot right after your automobile accident.
Phillip: This is the universe's way of getting back at me for leaving all those years ago.
Phillip: Or maybe it's because when I came back, I was a jackass. I just stood there. I didn't let Chance cha--
Jill: No, no, no.
Phillip: I didn't--I wa-- I should have forced him. I should have came over there and forced the issue.
Jill: Phillip. Phillip. Phillip, when you left, you told me it was 'cause you couldn't count on us. But I'll tell you what it was. You are a born runner. You put up walls because when you get too close, you can get hurt, okay? Gee, wonder where you got that from.
Phillip: I'm here now. So if you want to come down on me--
Jill: No, no, I don't want to come down on you. That's not the point. The point is, you are here. You're scared, and you are not running. (Sighs) I'm gonna be right here beside you through all of this. And we're gonna make it through. We will.
Chloe: Okay, so a knife and some freak at a coffeehouse, and Chance just has to play hero? That's what everyone's telling me?
Jill: Yeah, we're just waiting for word.
Chloe: Right. (Sighs) Okay, wait.
Kay: Oh, it always makes me so angry.
Kay: You know, just seeing young people in pain and danger. But a good man like Chance, it's just, you know...
Chloe: You've seen him with Delia.
Chloe: I know. Here's this soldier, this cop, this quite, strong, John Wayne type of guy, and the way that he just holds that girlie girl...
Chloe: And she makes him crack up...
Chloe: Makes him laugh his head off.
Kay: Oh, yes.
Chloe: And he looks at me like I'm a genius for making her.
Kay: Well, this is not about Delia. I mean, think about the way he looks at you.
Chloe: Yeah, right? I know. The way he looks at me. I know. (Sighs) And not like I said something stupid, or I'm gonna screw something up. More of like, "Hey, this girl is talking, and I like her. I want to listen."
Chloe: And I don't always have to be funny, you know?
Kay: I know.
Chloe: I don't always have to be funny, and even if I make him laugh, he's laughing with me, not at me--a big difference. And I just... (Sighs) I've just blown him off so many times, because I don't know what to do with a good guy. (Scoffs) No offense to Billy, but...
Kay: No, no. No, no, of course not. Of course not.
Chloe: So I signed the divorce papers today. He and I are finally done, and all I wanted to do was tell Chance. That's all I wanted to do.
Kay: Oh, Sweetheart, you will get to tell him. Maybe not tonight...
Kay: But you will tell him.
Billy: You evicting "Restless Style" was a power play temper tantrum, a lot like Victor, really, and I.E., it's just not legal at all.
Nick: So I guess this is why you were here, Jack, to be Billy's advance man?
Jack: Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Billy works on his own, just the way he wants it.
Nick: Back to the knife twist, huh?
Jack: Well, you have Adam. I have Billy.
Billy: (Clears throat) I'm sorry. Did you just put me in the same category as, uh... huh. Forget that. Back to you. Um, my lawyer went through the lease agreement, and you know what the funny thing is? It doesn't say that I can't write about the Newmans. Actually, it doesn't stipulate magazine content at all. So you can't get all upset and boot me out. Oh, no, no. By all means, don't take my word for it.
Jack: Oh, by all means, don't take his word for anything.
Nick: I'll be in legal. You two talk amongst yourselves.
Jack: Oh, Billy.
Billy: Jack, what the hell is wrong with you, huh? Why are you pullin' this stuff in front of Newman? Hey, Chloe signed the divorce papers today. Do you want to divorce me, too?
Jack: Well, that's a little melodramatic, but if you need something formal, here it is. To Billy, my ex-brother.
(Key rattles in lock)
Patty: (Gasps) Jack! (Sighs)
Phyllis: I'm sorry that it's late, but my friend in-- she needs company.
Patty: I-I do. I do. I love company. Hi.
Phyllis: You really have this shtick down pat, don't you?
Phyllis: Poor lost soul...
Phyllis: With your poison pen. What is this? What is that? "Summer, I'm sorry you're sick. It makes me sad." What is this? Did you lace it with peanut dust?
Patty: Um, I-I don't remember writing that. Are--are you Summer?
Phyllis: Summer is my daughter who you tried to kill.
Patty: I-I love children. You know, Jack and I are gonna have one someday.
Phyllis: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. You should feel so lucky that you're locked up here, because let me tell you something. If you were out there on the street, you should be very, very afraid.
Cane: Okay, um, she's asleep if you'd like to talk.
Neil: Yeah, you bet I do.
Cane: Listen, this idea of a family-- I know it seems sudden to you.
Neil: No, actually, it doesn't. It's been on her mind since the diagnosis, before. She gave you the calendar on her birthday.
Neil: Baby-making days-- because she knows how much you wanted a child.
Cane: You think I'm pushing her into this?
Neil: I see how destroyed you are over my daughter being sick.
Neil: And as a parent, I understand it. I appreciate that. But listen, man, what's going on right now? She's talking about having a baby. I don't hear you saying anything to stop it.
Cane: All right, Neil, this is--this is talk right now. That's all it is.
Neil: Two eggs. Do I need to remind you that they salvaged two eggs from her ovaries? That's her entire shot at having a child. And w-what if it doesn't happen?
Cane: All right, listen. I know--
Neil: What are you gonna do? What--are you really gonna put her through that if that doesn't happen?
Cane: All right, listen. I know what can go wrong, and it scares the hell out of me, but what do you want me to do? Do you want me to say, "Don't dream, don't wish"? She needs this.
Neil: Y-you're actually gonna find someone to have this baby?
Cane: Well, that's really the only easy part, 'cause Mackenzie volunteered.
Mac: You really remember all their names?
Murphy: (Chuckles) Yeah. Oh, you watch guys die on the field, and you make it your job to remember. But you keep thinking that, uh, that it won't get to you anymore, but even now-- old, young, sick, coming out of the blue, you just never get over it. But... I'm not sayin' Chance is gonna... (Sighs) But sitting here, it just-- just makes you think.
Mac: I understand. When I went to get my tea earlier, I stopped at the maternity ward. It helped.
Murphy: You know, that-- that's what it's like having Cordelia in the house. (Chuckles) I-I keep hearing her little noises coming down the hall. (Stammers) It just makes me smile.
Mac: Babies are the one perfect thing in the world.
Phyllis: Are you afraid of me? Are you afraid? That's right. You just like to terrorize people who can't fight back. But I'm here now. You have to deal with me. I'm here now.
Emily: Okay, what is going on?
Patty: Dr. P., you always know when I need you. (Sobbing)
Phyllis: Oh, my God, you're kidding me.
Emily: Okay, why don't you and I give Patty some privacy? Would you rather I called the hospital administrator? Or maybe the police?
Emily: Okay, Honey, I'll be right back.
Phyllis: This is rich. You threaten to call the police on me while you pat that freak on the back?
Emily: Okay, this is a hospital ward. Patty is a patient-- a fragile and unstable patient.
Phyllis: I-I can't even believe that you'd be talking this. She took your face from you. She stole your face. (Scoffs) I mean, doesn't that bother you? All the things that she's done? One, trying to kill my daughter.
Emily: All right. You're Phyllis Newman.
Phyllis: Yes, I'm Phyllis Newman. And you seem to be "The doctor" who couldn't help her.
Emily: Well, I really wish I could have. But she is paying for her crimes. What else can she do?
Phyllis: She can stop trying to get a hold of my daughter. So she wrote this to my daughter. What does this mean? What does this mean? A warning? What is this? You're a doctor, okay? So you--you try to tell me. It's your job. Get into that psycho brain of hers and tell me what that means.
Emily: Okay. (Sighs) All right. Y-you can't blame Patty for this. It's my fault. You have to blame me.
Phyllis: You told her to write the letter?
Emily: It wasn't intentional. I can't discuss our sessions, but one may assume that my patient and I talk about past actions and the concept of responsibility, a result which might be remorse or an attempt to say she's sorry.
Phyllis: You're kidding me, right? This is an apology?
Emily: If you want to look at it that way instead of an attack. It may help you understand Patty's condition.
Phyllis: Oh, please. You know, I'm not interested in this psychobabble. I'm not interested in her pity or her sadness. I'm really not, especially after what she did to my family. I-I'm sorry. Can I ask you something? Do you even have a degree?
Emily: Patty has been manipulated and taken advantage of.
Phyllis: Yeah. Yeah, I'm sure she has. Um, haven't we all? Let me tell you something. If you pity that freak, you're as insane as she is. I told her something I'm gonna tell you. Stay away from my family. Trust me on that.
Billy: Yeah, I didn't follow your orders, but that's enough for you to throw me under the bus in front of Newman?
Jack: You know, that particular Newman is like a son to me.
Billy: I'm not family?
Jack: You have screwed me over time and time again, and every time, you say the same thing. "Come on, Jack. Give me another chance." You know what? After 20 second chances, I'm tapped out.
Billy: You just can't wave your hands and say I'm not family. It doesn't work that way.
Jack: And you can't just keep screwing up like this and hope it all goes away with an "I'm sorry." It has a cumulative effect, Billy. At affects everything. Like Jabot-- do you have any idea how much I have wanted to get that company back? I mean, really back in our family? The opportunities I've passed on, the careers opportunities I've said no to so that I could fulfill a dream, Dad's dream of having you, me and Ashley working together? But no, that wasn't good enough for you. No, you had to spoil that, too. You can ruin a dream, too. Good for you.
Nick: Legal has decided to honor the injunction.
Billy: Like they've got a choice there, buddy.
Nick: They're gonna go over this very carefully, Billy. If they find a loophole, you're back on the street.
(Cell phone beeps)
Jack: Too bad, little brother.
Billy: Yeah, that's classy, both of you.
Jack: What? What is it?
Billy: It's from the only family I have left, and they need me. Thank you. Excuse me.
Neil: So Mac just offered to carry a child for you? No prompting from you at all?
Cane: No. All right, look. You think Lily is getting her hopes up about something that may not happen. But to be honest with you, you're doing the same thing. This is just something you need to think about now. That's all.
Neil: What do you think Lily is thinking about right now? In her mind, she's decorating the nursery, maybe imagining carrying that child in her arms for the first time. That--her final gift to you.
Cane: Listen, nothing is going to happen, okay? She and I have talked about this.
Neil: She's just gonna will herself to beat this?
Cane: She thinks so.
Neil: In five years, Lily's gonna be considered to be cancer-free. Why--why don't you just wait until then? She's still gonna be more than young enough to raise a family.
Cane: Okay, listen. You saw her face, all right? She needs this, and she needs this now.
Neil: Yeah. And what do you think the chances are of Mac getting pregnant on the first go-around?
Cane: All right, listen, I don't have all the answers, okay? I don't. But when I brought her here yesterday, I thought she was going to die. And now the girl is talking about a future.
Neil: It's fantasy.
Cane: It's not a fantasy. It might be a fantasy to you, but to her, this is very real. Listen, I need you to stand by her side. Don't stand in her way. You are her father, and I respect you, so I'm going to ask you. No, I'm gonna beg you. Please, please don't take her hope away from her.
Lily: (Sighs) How's Chance?
Cane: He's still in surgery. Uh, your dad-- he went to get some coffee.
Lily: (Sighs) He's avoiding me.
Cane: (Chuckles) No, I just think he wants you to get some rest.
Lily: (Sighs) He got to you, didn't he? You think it's a bad idea now-- Mac carrying a baby for us.
Cane: No, I don't think it's a bad idea. I just think that it's something we don't have to solve right now, and we can do that when you're stronger.
Lily: What, after I get outta here?
Cane: Yeah. After you get outta here.
Lily: Or what, after I get slammed by another round of chemo? Or another infection? Cane, we need to start talking about this now and planning now. I want our child in the world, no matter what.
Cane: Sweetheart, I understand about Colleen and her dream when she came and told you that you were gonna raise the baby. When you say things to me like that, when you say things like, "No matter what," I just don't know what to think.
Lily: I don't mean that I'm going to die.
Cane: Then tell me that. I need you to tell me that. I need you to say to me that I'm not having a child with you so that when you're gone, I'll have a piece of you.
Lily: (Sighs) Maybe I'm just saying that because of what the doctors would say or the arguments that my dad would make. But in my heart... (Sighs) Where's my makeup kit?
Cane: It's Colleen's charm, huh? All right, listen. It is not enough to hang our future on a charm or a dream that you had. It's just not enough.
Lily: This is the truth, okay? Our truth. Our family. If we both want it enough, it will happen.
Billy: Hey, Mom. Mac texted me. What's going on?
Mac: You're mom's been through everything enough. I can fill you in.
Billy: Yeah, but Chance is gonna be okay, right?
Jill: I'm just glad to see you.
Billy: And what? I-I know I'm just getting here, but I had to work. It's been a crazy day. I don't see Cane anywhere in here. Does he get a pass? Is that what's going on?
Jill: Billy, what are you talking about? Cane is in the room with Lily.
Billy: Oh, uh, Mom, I'm sorry. It's just I'm-- I don't know what--
Mac: It's okay. It's okay. It's a misunderstanding. Come on.
Billy: God, this day has been insane. I mean, I've been trying to fight the eviction, and I signed the divorce papers, you know, and then-- I'm an ass. I know I'm an ass. But I'm going crazy, and Jack-- this thing with Jack is--
Mac: Okay, Billy, I want to hear this. I really do. But Chance just got stabbed, and everything else we can fix later.
Billy: Yeah, I know. I'm sorry. How's Lily?
Mac: She's better. She's better, um, which is good. They've got the infection under control, but it was really bad for a minute. She was feverish and--and words were just spilling out.
Billy: Yeah? What--what words? What was she saying?
Mac: She wants to have a baby with Cane.
Billy: Oh, poor girl. Did she forget that that's not possible?
Mac: It is possible if they have a gestational carrier-- surrogate.
Billy: Oh, okay. I mean, she'd make a great mom.
Mac: I think so, too. She has goals. And...
Mac: I look around and wonder what I'm doing with my life. I mean, I have the bar. But that's just a job, and it's not exactly helping anyone. And then there's Darfur. That--
Billy: Whoa. We're not talking about going back to Darfur.
Mac: No. No, that's not the answer either. But there has to be a way to make a difference. Did you see how everyone lit up at Ashley's baby's christening?
Billy: (Clears throat) How did we get on Ashley's baby again?
Mac: I need a purpose, Billy.
Billy: All right, what exactly are you trying to tell me?
Kay: No. Uh, Billy?
Billy: Katherine, how are you doing?
Kay: Uh--uh, come. Sit with me, please.
Billy: Uh, yes--yes, Ma'am. I'll be right back. Sorry. Hi.
Kay: Hi there.
Billy: (Clears throat)
Kay: Well, now, uh, you have pulled-- uh, sit, sit, sit.
Billy: Okay. (Chuckles)
Kay: You've pulled a lot of stupid stunts lately at that new magazine of yours. I-I just don't want you to think that I haven't noticed.
Billy: Well, thanks for the heads-up.
Kay: But I do love you, Billy. Remember that, no matter what happens.
Billy: Uh, I will. Thank you.
Phillip: Hey, you want to get some air?
Nina: No. What if the doctor comes out?
Phillip: Somebody will come and get us. They'll call us.
Nina: No. I-I just--I want to be here. If something happens, I want to know one way or the other. (Sighs) No, it can only be one way. He's out of surgery, and he's fine, because the other way, I just--I--
Phillip: He's fine. He's gonna be fine.
Nina: You know, you say that like you know, but you don't. I told myself he was gonna be fine when he was in Iraq, all day every day, all day long.
Phillip: And you were right.
Nina: And when he came home, God, I was so relieved. I didn't know how scared I was until I didn't have to be scared anymore. And then when he joined the police department, I just had that old, you know, flicker of terror. But it went away. I mean, he's a detective. They're--they don't walk the beat. They just go in after the crime's been committed. It's gonna be fine. (Voice breaking) He was buying pastries. This is so absurd. He was buying muffins for his family, and now--
Phillip: I know. I know. I know. I know. I am--I'm scared, too.
Nina: (Normal voice) No, you know what? You don't get to be scared. You don't get to claim him and be afraid. And you don't get to be my best friend and make everything okay, because you ran away! You left us. (Sighs)
Phillip: Say anything you want to say.
Phillip: I'm not leave-- I'm not leaving. I'm here.
Nina: I'm sorry.
Phillip: I'm here. I am here.
Nina: I'm sorry.
Phillip: I'm not leaving. I'm not going anywhere.
Nick: Why didn't you tell me about this before? I never would have let you go.
Phyllis: That's why I didn't tell you about it.
Nick: Phyllis, the thought of you and Patty alone in a room together--
Phyllis: Yeah, Patty-- oh, we weren't alone. It was Patty and her shrink. It was her twin. One's blonde. One's brunette. But neither of them seem to think that it's a big deal that a child almost lost their life. I swear to God. I swear to God, Nick. I don't know which one of them I wanted to strangle first.
Jack: Hello there.
Emily: Okay, Jack, I'm not in the mood. I don't want to hear how guilty you feel or how much you care about Patty, and I sure as hell don't want you to kiss me again.
Jack: Bad session with Patty, huh?
Emily: Mnh. Phyllis Newman. She cornered my wreck of a patient.
Jack: Wait, Patty's been in there for some time now. Why would Phyllis go now?
Emily: (Sighs) Patty sent Summer a letter.
Jack: She did what?
Emily: Yeah. I mean, she doesn't even know what year it is. How is she supposed to--to-- to--to know proper victim etiquette?
Jack: I hope you didn't say that to Red.
Emily: No, no. I--not in those words.
Jack: Have you ever met Summer? She has a wonderful smile. Lights up a room. Great kid. I mean, all kids are miracles, but this kid... Phyllis found her unconscious, uh, on the floor of her office. Didn't know if she'd ever wake up. And when she did, Phyllis couldn't be there for her because Patty had seen to it that authorities suspected Phyllis of doing this to her own daughter. Talk about adding insult to injury.
Emily: I-I-I'm not excusing it. That--that's why Patty's in a mental ward. She can't take responsibility for her actions.
Jack: All Phyllis sees is this woman who targeted her family and almost killed her daughter. Patty was determined to destroy any woman who came close to me. I just thank God she can't do anything like that again.
Patty: Jack, come back. Come back, Jack.
Neil: So Katherine and the others send their love. And I told them that you send your prayers.
Lily: You're not gonna mention the baby, are you?
Neil: Well, you both just said you were thinkin' about it. So I figured after you take some time, then we could get into it.
Lily: Dad, you don't have to be afraid for me.
Neil: Oh, no, you're wrong. I do. It's in the job description. I have to live in fear of you gettin' your heart broken.
Lily: Do you want to be a grandfather?
Neil: It's not about me.
Lily: Dad, just tell me. Do you want to be a grandfather?
Neil: Yes, someday.
Lily: Okay. Well, someday might be sooner than you think.
Billy: All right, now before anybody else can interrupt, explain to me exactly what you were trying to talk about earlier, okay?
Mac: It's exactly what you're thinking. I offered to carry a baby for Lily and Cane.
Billy: What'd you say?
Mac: I'm carrying a--
Billy: No, see, no, you're not. It's not gonna happen. Not a chance.
Jill: It's the doctor.
Murphy: Oh, the doctor.
Nina: Is he gonna be okay?
Doctor: We were able to stop the internal bleeding--
Jill: Oh, thank God.
Doctor: Repair the spleen.
Jill: Thank God.
Billy: That's good.
Phillip: When can we see him?
Doctor: He's heading into recovery right now. After that, he'll move to a private room.
Nina: No, can I see him now, please? I just want to make sure he's gonna be all right, okay? Please--oh, no, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. (Sighs) He's so pale. Are you sure he's gonna be okay? Phillip? Wake up, Sweetheart.
Jill: Oh, my God. Oh, look at him.
Chloe: (Sighs) (Sighs) Thank you. (Exhales deeply)
Next on "The Young and the Restless"...
Kevin: Tell him where you were the night of the shooting.
Ryder: Just leave it alone, okay?
Nina: It doesn't mean you're over Billy.
Chloe: Well, I am. And I'm gonna prove it.
Ashley: I love you. So does your father.
Abby: The one who's dead, or the one you drove out of the country?
