Alex: Doesn't look to me like your mommy's around to help you out, Dan Dan. And, no, this time we're not playing! The fight ain't gonna be rigged to make someone else look good. In fact, it isn't gonna be a fight! It's gonna be a beating! That's okay. I'm in no hurry. See, a beating isn't just about the pain. I mean, the pain's bad. It's real bad, but knowing that you're gonna get all messed up and take weeks and weeks to get better and might not ever be like you were before, that's fear. And I love to see fear-- other people's fear.

Daniel: I'm not afraid of you, Alex.

Alex: Come on. Show me what you got. By the way, hope you realize I cheat.

J.T.: You're counting on me for what?

Brittany: You know that was my mom on the phone just now.

J.T.: Yeah, she must have loved the way you answer the phone--"hello, lover boy."

Brittany: Guess what, hotshot. She thought I was expecting a call from you.

J.T.: Why would she think that?

Brittany: Gee, I don't know. Because her friend Muffy saw us coming out of Wiley’s bridal boutique.

J.T.: Muffy? Yeah, well, Muffy should mind her own business.

Brittany: So should the sales clerk in the china department at Fenmore’s.

J.T.: What?

Brittany: My mom's got Genoa City wired.

J.T.: Oh, Brittany, I know I shouldn't have let you sucker me into this. This was such a bad idea.

Brittany: I didn't sucker you into anything. We had a deal. I helped you with your little investigation, remember?

J.T.: Yeah, yeah, I got the short end of the deal, trust me.

Brittany: Are you just gonna whine and complain up until my wedding?

J.T.: Would it get me out of the best man thing? 'Cause if so, then I might.

Brittany: No.

J.T.: Brittany, look, I don't want to do this.

Brittany: Will you please just shut up and let me talk? I need your help, J.T., tonight, and don't you dare tell me no.

Gloria: Excuse me. I'm such a dunce. Would you mind showing me how to work this thing? Oh, Lauren. Hey, hi. It's me, Michael’s Mom.

Lauren: Gloria.

Gloria: Yeah.

Lauren: Hi, how are you?

Gloria: Fine, just fine. I didn't know that you were a member here.

Lauren: Yeah.

Gloria: I'm surprised I haven't seen you before.

Lauren: I should come here far more often than I do.

Gloria: Oh, you'd never know looking at you.

Lauren: You're being very sweet. I must look positively horrible.

Gloria: Oh, no, come on. Perspiration's good for the skin. Keeps you young and dewy looking.

Lauren: Well, you can call me one dewy broad then. Michael said that you moved out of the apartment.

Gloria: Yeah. I thought it was time. (Beeping)

Gloria: It was so nice of him to let me stay there with him, but I felt like I needed to give him some space.

Lauren: Well, it was nice to see you.

Gloria: You're leaving?

Lauren: Yes, I need to get home. I've got plans.

Gloria: Oh, really? A date, maybe, with my son? Huh?

Kevin: Hey, Mikey. What's happening?

Michael: Where you been?

Kevin: Here and there. Why, did you miss me?

Michael: More than words could possibly convey.

Kevin: You know, you are a good big brother. I don't tell you that enough.

Michael: No, you don’t. So what do you want?

Kevin: I don't want anything.

Michael: Mm-hmm. Well, I'm not giving you any money, and if you were hoping to borrow the car tonight, think again, 'cause I need it.

Kevin: Damn it. Why, you going out?

Michael: That's right.

Kevin: What are you up to?

Michael: Just plans.

Kevin: Oh, Mikey’s got a secret.

Michael: Look, if you must know, I'm going to an event at the Colonnade Room.

Kevin: What like a lawyer thing? Sounds boring.

Michael: Hand me my jacket.

Kevin: Hey, so you want to know what I did today?

Michael: Is this a short story? 'Cause I really gotta get going.

Kevin: I went to Lily Winter's place.

Michael: What? What is wrong with you, Kevin?

Kevin: No, no.

Michael: How many times do I have to tell you to--?

Kevin: It's cool. It's cool. Her dad was happy to see me.

Michael: Look, I know you want to keep milking this hero thing, but you're treading on--

Kevin: But that's not why I went there. That's not why I went there.

Michael: Okay, what was the reason?

Kevin: Well, I saw Lily last night in the park with that guy that's living with them-- Devon I think is his name. Anyway, so I find out they're running away, and I tried to talk them out of it.

Michael: And were you successful?

Kevin: Not exactly, but Neil was, you know, happy anyway. I think Detective Weber was, too. He was there also.

Michael: Oh, of course he was.

Kevin: Mikey, it's okay. I didn't get myself into any trouble. Relax.

Michael: You just don't get it, do you? You're asking for trouble every time you go near Lily and her family. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Dru: Thank God you're home, sweetheart, but you scared us half to death.

Lily: I'm sorry.

Neil: That's it? You run away. You stay out all night. You don't even have the decency to pick up a phone and call and say you're okay, and then you come home and say "I'm sorry." Lily, where the hell were you? I went crazy, out of my mind, calling every single one of your friends.

Lily: No place special. Devon and I just walked around all night.

Dru: Walked around all night doing what?

Lily: We argued mostly.

Neil: Argued about what?

Lily: He wanted me to come home, and I didn't want to. Finally, he talked me into it.

Dru: Thank God someone had some sense. Do you understand the kind of danger you both could have been in?

Lily: I wasn't in any danger, Mom, okay? Devon was with me.

Neil: Lily, I understand what prompted Devon to run away, but I'm trying to understand-- why did you walk out that door with him?

Lily: It wasn't his idea, if that's what you're thinking. He was completely against it. That's a big part of why we were arguing all night.

Dru: Lily, I am so upset with you for running away, but I am so happy that you're home safe.

Neil: Lily, I'm happy you're home safe, too, but don't you ever, ever do that to me again, okay? And I know that you're upset with me.

Lily: Yeah, I'm upset, Dad. How could you guys let Devon down the way that you did?

Daniel: What's the matter, Alex? You can't take me in a fair fight?

Alex: Who says I have to? Fair fight! Even if I win, I get bruises and cuts, and the bruises and cuts are for you. The blood on the floor's yours, and the broken bones, all yours.

Daniel: I don't know why you're getting so violent.

Alex: We had a deal.

Daniel: Yeah, and I told you--

Alex: What you told me was my guys could operate at the Rec Center, and you'd make it safe. You never say how, but you said you would do it.

Daniel: So I was wrong. I promised you something that I couldn't come through on. I'm sorry. What are gonna do? Are you gonna bash me to pieces for this? It's not worth it.

Alex: I guess to you its not, but to me, I gotta be like, "you don't mess with me and get away with it."

Daniel: I'm not gonna tell anybody. Who am I gonna tell?

Alex: My guys came back all, "this bad old man messed with us, kicked us out. Said he'd put us in the hospital if we ever came back." You know how that makes me look after I said the place was cool?!

Daniel: I can't control Victor Newman. I never said that I could.

Alex: Shut up! You're making it worse on yourself! Playtime's over!

Phyllis: What's going on in here? Wh-- what's going on?

Alex: Hey, Mom. Cause I recognize little pieces, but it looks so different.

Nikki: Hi.

Bobby: Hey, did you come by here to gloat?

Nikki: Gloat about what?

Bobby: Your big triumph last night, the grand reopening. What, Nikki? You don't look like you're all there today.

Nikki: I didn't get much sleep last night.

Bobby: Neither did me and Brittany, not that we were really trying, either.

Nikki: Oh, please, spare me.

Bobby: Come on. What's with the long face? You should be on top of the world.

Nikki: Why is that?

Bobby: Well, you had every guy in here mesmerized last night-- the way you were running the place, that dress you're wearing. Nikki, I'm trying to give you a compliment here. You were queen of the club.

Nikki: Oh, great, is that what I am? I'm a has-been burlesque queen.

Bobby: Something's got its hooks in you, huh?

Nikki: You wouldn't believe me if I told you.

Bobby: Well, I've heard a lot of weird things, so why don't you give it a try?

Nikki: You know what? I don't want to talk about it.

Bobby: Okay, fine. I hate seeing you so down.

Nikki: Look, the reason I came by, I can't be here tonight.

Bobby: Oh, come on, partner. You just can't blow me off.

J.T.: You keep saying you're counting on me, that you need my help, but you're not saying what that means.

Brittany: It's all part of our bargain.

J.T.: What is?

Brittany: I need you to go with me tonight.

J.T.: Where?

Brittany: The Colonnade Room.

J.T.: What? The Col--no, no.

Brittany: It's this big dinner/dance or something, semi-formal. Don't worry. You won't need a tux.

J.T.: Oh, that's such a relief, you know? One question, though-- why the hell would I want to go with you to something like that?

Brittany: Because I need you to.

J.T.: You know, you have a fiancé, or have you forgotten about that?

Brittany: No, I haven't forgotten.

J.T.: Good, so take Bobby. I'm sure he'd love to meet all those snobs. Wait a minute. I almost would like to be there. I would love to be with you when you introduce your fiancé to Genoa City's upper crust.

Brittany: Great minds think alike. That's exactly what I plan to do.

Lily: All your big talk about Devon and feeling like this was his home, too. Was that some sort of sick joke to you?

Dru: Of course not.

Lily: Well, I thought you liked Devon, Mom.

Dru: I more than like him. You know that.

Neil: Okay, listen, I told you when you came to my office that his stay with us was never meant to be permanent.

Lily: Well, then why did you let him get his hopes up? How could you hurt him like that?

Dru: Darling, I swear to you, we never meant to hurt him. We never meant for this to happen.

Lily: You knew child services had a spot for him in a group home, right?

Neil: Yes, we did, Lily.

Lily: Well, then what did you think he was gonna do when he learned that you were putting him out?

Dru: Honey, if only I had a chance to explain to him.

Lily: Explain what, Mom, huh? Explain what, that you didn't really care about him after all, this is all some big game to feel good about yourselves?

Dru: That was not the case, and you know it.

Lily: Well, then how come you haven't asked where he is?

Neil: Because Devon-- he's lived on the streets all his life. You haven’t.

Dru: Baby that does not mean that we weren't frightened for him, too.

Neil: Lily, give us a break here. You're our flesh and blood. Do you have any idea what it feels like to be a parent and have your only child run away and not know if they're alive or dead?

Lily: Yeah, you keep talking about how you feel and how Mom feels. What about how Devon feels? 'Cause I'll tell you how-- he feels betrayed.

Alex: Close the door.

Phyllis: I'm gonna get help.

Alex: Are you really that stupid? 'Cause I'll break his bones, lady. So, Mommy, tell me-- do you want to see his bones break, or what about his skull?

Phyllis: I'm calling your bluff.

Daniel: Mom.

Phyllis: I'm going to get help.

Daniel: Mom. Don't do it, Mom.

Phyllis: No, no, he's not gonna do it, Daniel.

Alex: Sounds like Mom is more concerned about being tough than she is saving you.

Phyllis: Put the bat down. Put the bat down. Look at me and put the bat down. You want to go to prison? That's what's gonna happen. Does that matter to you? Is it worth it? Is it worth it to you, just show you can show a 16-year-old what a big guy you are?

Alex: I said close the door.

Phyllis: Okay, okay.

Daniel: Mom, Mom, just go. I can handle this.

Alex: Yeah, you're handling this!

Daniel: Don't you touch her! Your problem is with me, not with her!

Alex: Are you joking me?!

Daniel: Come at me!

Alex: That bitch slapped me in the face!

Daniel: So what?! So what, Alex?!

Kevin: I was only trying to help Lily. Why are you getting so upset?

Michael: No, you weren’t. You were trying to make yourself look good.

Kevin: So why can't I do both?

Michael: Because that's not the way it works. You're trying so hard to make people think that you've changed, that you're some honest, upstanding person.

Kevin: What is so terrible about that?

Michael: It's not real, Kevin. You can change how you act on the outside. What matters is who a person is in here or in here. That's what counts. So instead of pulling off all these stunts to make people think that you're different, why don't you put all that energy into actually becoming a better person?

Kevin: Well, how am I supposed to do that?

Michael: I really feel that you should see a professional.

Kevin: A shrink. Mikey, we talked about this. I don't want to go to a shrink.

Michael: Look, I know. I know. I know. I know you don't like the idea, but I truly feel that this would make such a difference. You need to talk to someone about what you're feeling.

Kevin: I talk to you. I like talking to you.

Michael: Really? Well, I'm glad. But...

Michael: I'm not equipped to help you, not with the kind of help that you need.

Kevin: Mike, do you really think I'm that messed up?

Michael: No, look, look. I--I love you. Yes, I love you, but you have to-- you have to start dealing with the demons you're carrying around. You have to. If you don't, they're just gonna eat away at you inside forever.

Michael: Here, here. Take this.

Kevin: The Genoa City Mental Health Clinic?

Michael: I have referred clients there. It's good. It's good, Kevin. And there are some great people there who would be delighted to help you.

Kevin: What would make Lauren happy?

Michael: Aah! No, see, you don't do this for Lauren. You don't do it for me. You do it for yourself.

Kevin: I'll think about it. That's the most I'm promising you.

Michael: All right. Okay. That's fair enough. I gotta go.

Kevin: Have fun.

Michael: See you later.

Lauren: Where'd you get an idea like that?

Gloria: Well, that's okay. I may be Michael’s mother, but you can talk about your relationship with me. He's cute, isn't he, huh?

Lauren: Michael?

Gloria: Yeah.

Lauren: Yes, he's very attractive.

Gloria: And you're a gorgeous woman.

Lauren: Thank you.

Gloria: I want you to know that I think you would make a fabulous couple.

Lauren: I enjoy spending time with him.

Gloria: Uh-huh, uh-huh.

Lauren: Right. I need to get going.

Gloria: Oh, are you sure? I was hoping maybe we could grab a juice or something--my treat.

Lauren: Oh, I, uh... (Cell phone rings)

Lauren: Oh, I'm sorry.

Gloria: Okay.

Lauren: One second.

Gloria: Yeah, sure.

Lauren: Hello. Oh, hi. No, I'm at the club. I'm just finishing up. Yeah, I just need to go shower and change, and I'll be ready. Oh, I'll meet you there. That's okay. Yeah, me too. All right, see you later. Bye.

Gloria: My goodness, you are secretive. You didn't even mention his name.

Lauren: Excuse me?

Gloria: That was Michael, right? And you didn't want me to know? (Chuckles)

Neil: Lily, why don't you tell us where Devon is? And your mother and I will go find him and talk to him.

Lily: I don't know where he is. He tries to act like it doesn't matter, but I can tell he's in a lot of pain.

Dru: (Whimpers)

Lily: You know what he told me?

Dru: What?

Lily: That he felt dumb for ever letting his guard down, for letting himself feel like he was actually a part of our family.

Neil: I feel absolutely horrible about this. I'm sorry.

Lily: You know, I could understand if it was just you, Dad, because you never wanted Devon here in the first place, but, Mom, he trusted you.

Dru: I know, honey. He has every right to be upset with me.

Neil: No, he doesn't, Dru.

Lily: What do you mean?

Neil: Lily, it's my fault. Your mother practically begged me to let Devon stay, to provide a home for him until he was 18, so if you're gonna blame someone, blame me.

J.T.: I don't get it. Bobby's not going with you, but you're still gonna introduce your fi--fiancé. No, no, no.

Brittany: Just for tonight. I'm desperate.

J.T.: Mnh-mnh. I'll say.

Brittany: Please, I need you.

J.T.: Why? Brittany, this is ludicrous.

Brittany: My mother heard that we were making wedding plans, so naturally, she thought you and I...

J.T.: What? What? That we're getting married, like to each other?!

Brittany: So now she and my dad want us to join them at the Colonnade Room for the Harvest Dance.

J.T.: Tell 'em no.

Brittany: I tried. Didn't you hear me on the phone?

J.T.: Oh, God, this is a nightmare. Suddenly, I'm trapped in a "Three's Company" episode.

Brittany: It's just for one night, J.T.

J.T.: No, there's no way in hell I'm getting mixed up in this.

Brittany: I can't tell them about Bobby. It's too soon.

J.T.: For your parents, I think that news is always gonna come too soon.

Brittany: You're turning your back on me? How could you do that?

J.T.: Watch me.

Brittany: Why won't you help me?

J.T.: How many reasons do you need, Brittany? How about for starters, you know, your mom and me?

Brittany: Yeah, your fling with my mother does make things kind of weird.

J.T.: Yeah, it does, and I'm the last person that should be pretending to be your fiancé. Look, just call her back and tell her, you know, that you can't make it on short notice. You know, here, call her back. Stand up for yourself. Go ahead. Do it.

Bobby: Okay, so let me guess. Your husband doesn't want you spending time down here at the club.

Nikki: That's not it. Well, not exactly.

Bobby: Well, it's gotta be something 'cause you're not the same woman that left here last night on the top of her game. Nikki, I hope this doesn't mean that you're gonna just leave me high and dry. Word about the club is gonna spread like wildfire, and you're a big part of the magic.

Nikki: Really?

Bobby: When I tell you something, I'm giving it to you straight. You know that about me by now.

Nikki: Yeah, that's true, as odd as it seems. That is true.

Bobby: Yes, and I'm not blowing smoke up your skirt when I tell you there was real chemistry in this room. You brought something extra to the party. I mean, guys just looked at you and could feel the sizzle, me included. There we go. There's that million dollar smile.

Nikki: Oh, come on. I don't know that it's worth a million.

Bobby: Oh, it's up there. Come on, you haven't even touched your coffee. Do you want me to get you something else? Oh, come on. What's with the smile? There it goes.

Nikki: Stop.

Bobby: Nikki, I am concerned about you.

Nikki: You don't need to be.

Bobby: Don't give me that. I know something's up.

Bobby: You're riding a real wave, huh?

Nikki: What--

Bobby: Nikki, your emotions are all over the place.

Nikki: That's very perceptive of you.

Bobby: Well, it doesn't take genius to see that you're going from 0 to 60 in a half a second. Now I got a good mind to go up to that house of yours and have a little talk with your husband. He's gotta start paying more attention to you.

Nikki: You know what is so strange? In the last 48 hours, he has been so sensitive and so supportive, more than he has been in a long time.

Bobby: Yeah, and it's a good thing, right?

Nikki: Yeah, but in spite of that, I... (Sighs) damn it. I just feel so empty.

Alex: You know something, Mommy bitch, Dan Dan’s right. I don't have a big beef with you. My beef's with him. So you can just sit over there and watch if you want.

Phyllis: I think I want to look you in the eyes when you hit me.

Alex: Good, 'cause playtime's over. Let's break some bones!

Lauren: All right, yes. That was Michael on the phone.

Gloria: So you are going out tonight?

Lauren: Yes, we are.

Gloria: Oh, great! See, was that so hard? Where's he taking you?

Lauren: You know, I don't mean to be rude, but if I don't get home and shower, I'm gonna be late, all right?

Gloria: I understand totally. You go. We'll talk another time.

Lauren: Okay, nice seeing you.

Gloria: Nice to see you, too.

Lauren: Well, okay. Bye.

Gloria: Bye. You hold on to that one, Michael. (Machine beeps)

Kevin: And how soon until they're- great. No, that's, uh, that's--that's perfect. All right. Okay. Thank you. Thank you very much.

Kevin: Well, step one is complete. (Sighs) Lauren, you're gonna be so blown away.

[Kevin daydreaming.]

Kevin: (Sighs) I don't know, Doc. Maybe my brother's right. Maybe there really is something wrong with me. Take this thing with Lauren-- she tells me that we're never gonna be anything more than friends, but--but I don't buy it. I don’t. I know she likes me. I can see it in her eyes. When we're together, there's, like, there's this electricity between us, you know? (Sighs) oh, what that woman does to me. Every time I see her, I--I get butterflies in my stomach and my knees get all wobbly and my throat starts to get all dry. It's the most terrible, wonderful feeling in the world. And I know what you're thinking, but I'm not imagining it, because you can't make up an attraction like that. When the two of us are together, man-- get a fire extinguisher, because we are smokin'. And I know you're probably thinking that she cannot possibly--possibly be that great, but, uh, but she is. She's the most perfect woman in the world. (Sighs) ohh! I want her so bad. Doc, you gotta help me. All these feelings-- they're starting to make me crazy.

Lauren: Then let's get crazy together.

Kevin: Lauren, what are you doing here?

Lauren: Oh, Kevin, I want you.

Kevin: You do?

Lauren: Oh, I want you so badly.

Kevin: But you said we were never gonna be anything more than friends--

Lauren: Oh, forget what I said. I was a fool. You're the only man for me, and I know that now. I am never gonna let you slip away again.

Kevin: I--I can't believe this is happening.

Lauren: Believe it, honey. I'm about to make all your dreams come true.

Kevin: Ahh. Mm.

Lily: You know, I should have known that Mom wouldn't turn her back on Devon. This whole thing was her idea.

Neil: An idea I probably shouldn't have gone along with.

Lily: No, but you did go along with it, Dad, you did. You let Devon believe that if he worked hard and studied and followed all your rules, he might actually be able to stay.

Neil: I didn't mean to mislead him. I realize now I probably could have been clearer.

Lily: Did you really want Devon to stay, Mom?

Dru: Yes, honey, I really did, but I knew how your father felt. And I just was hoping that if Devon could stay here, your father would see how right that was.

Lily: Right, because you saw the good in Devon. Dad, you never even gave him a chance.

Neil: All right, before you two gang up on me, what--what you're failing to understand is that this wasn't about whether or not I liked the boy--

Lily: No, it was about me. Isn't that what you said-- that I'm your number one priority?

Neil: Yes, I did say that. That's true.

Lily: No, it isn’t. It's just an excuse.

Neil: Look, Lily, sometimes in life, adults have to make very tough decisions.

Lily: Yeah, and you make 'em all, right, Dad? Because you're the boss, and no one else's opinions mean anything.

Neil: Young lady, one day you will understand.

Lily: Don't bet on it.

Dru: Uh, Lily, don't talk to your father that way. Do you think Devon’s still in Genoa City?

Lily: (Sighs) I don't know. Probably. He doesn't have any money.

Dru: Do you know if he contacted any of his friends, honey?

Lily: No, no. All he talked about was me going home. No, he didn't want to mess up my life. He kept telling me how lucky I was to have you guys.

Dru: Oh, God, Neil.

Lily: Mom, I'm scared for him. He's all alone out there. How is he going to survive? What if he gets in trouble? I mean, he may act and talk all tough, but still, he's only 16.

Dru: I know. I know. I think I should call his social worker, but don't want to get him in trouble. Maybe he'll call.

Lily: No, no, trust me, he will not call. You're the last people that he'd talk to.

Dru: (Sighs)

Lily: Look, I'm gonna go take a shower.

Dru: Okay.

Neil: Well, well. She's really mad at me, isn't she?

Dru: I am, too. What did you expect?

Neil: I don't know. I just can't believe how this whole thing snowballed.

Dru: What's not to believe, Neil? I don't think--I don't think you ever meant for that boy to find out, but he has.

Neil: I told you, he saw something in my mood, something in my facial expression. He knew from that alone that he gonna be leaving here. I--

Dru: Your mood was obvious. Couldn't you have stalled until I got back?

Neil: Oh, there you go. That's your solution, huh, just lie?

Dru: No! To bend the truth, Neil. Obviously your way did not work and now this kid is out there alone, by himself, feeling like he's been stabbed in the back. I hope you can live with yourself. I'm gonna go see if Lily needs me.

[Damon shows up and hits Alex and starts beating him up and throwing him around the room like a rag doll.]

Phyllis: Damon, thank God you're here. Ohh...

Phyllis: Okay, Damon.

Alex: (Grunting)

Phyllis: Okay, Damon, all right. Okay! Damon! All right.

Alex: (Continues grunting)

Phyllis: All right. Okay. Enough, Damon. Damon.

Phyllis: Damon, stop. Damon! Damon, stop!

Alex: (Gasping)

Phyllis: Damon.

Anita: Hello?

Brittany: Hi, Mom.

Anita: Oh, Brittany, sweetie, I'm so glad you got back to me. I just informed your father you're going to be joining us tonight.

J.T.: Go on. Tell her. (Softly) tell her.

Brittany: Uh, actually, Mom, we... w-we have other plans.

Anita: Well, break them.

Brittany: We can’t.

Anita: Honey, the Harvest Ball is the perfect place to introduce you both.

Brittany: I--I--I know, but, um--

Anita: It's bad enough that I had to hear this news from my friends.

Brittany: Well, it's too bad your friends can't mind their own business.

Anita: Well, thank heavens they didn't, because, otherwise, you'd be walking down the aisle before I heard a thing.

Brittany: You're being melodramatic.

Anita: Brittany, listen, I understand why you didn't tell me. I mean, I may not be thrilled in your choice of groom, but he is better than that thug you were hanging out with.

Brittany: Bobby is not a thug.

Anita: Sweetheart, J.T. comes from a good family. The Hellstroms are lovely people. Sometime we'll plan an evening for the six of us, okay?

Brittany: Mom, stop! We're not coming. Don't turn into some whirling dervish, trying to take over, okay?

Anita: You know what? Far be it from me to intrude on your life, Brittany. Is it so wrong that I want to throw you a wedding you'll never forget? I mean, don't the parents have some say? Honey, you're my only child. You know, I know your father. He would be re--

Brittany: All right. All right. We'll be there.

J.T.: (Whispers) no, no, we won’t. No. No, we won’t.

Anita: I will look forward to it. I'll see you both at 6:30 sharp, okay?

J.T.: That's really good.

Brittany: I had no choice.

J.T.: Yeah? Well, I do.

Gloria: Ahh. Oh-- oh, you lookin' for this?

Lauren: Oh, yes! Thank you.

Gloria: You two have fun tonight.

Lauren: We will. You have a nice evening yourself.

Gloria: I usually do.

Male deejay: Up next is a very special dedication. It's to Lauren Fenmore from her not-so-secret admirer Kevin. Lauren, if you're listening, Kevin wants you to know one thing-- he'll always be your favorite hero.

Brittany: J.T., please. I need you to do this for me.

J.T.: I do a lot for you, princess, but this is crossing the line.

Brittany: But I was there for you when you needed my help.

J.T.: You know what? You're marrying Marsino. What's the point? Your parents are gonna hate it, no matter when you tell 'em.

Brittany: If I tell them now, I'll turn my wedding into a war zone. This should be the happiest time of my life. Mom isn't thrilled I'm marrying you, but at least you're acceptable.

J.T.: Oh, lucky me.

Brittany: Look, J.T., you're just about the best friend that I have. I don't know why you hate Bobby so much.

J.T.: I don't hate Bobby. I don't hate him. I just think he's wrong for you.

Brittany: It's not your call. I love him.

J.T.: (Sighs)

Brittany: Everyone's against me.

J.T.: Oh, come on. Stop. Like that's gonna work. Brittany. Brittany. Brittany, come on. Don't--don't do that. Brittany...

J.T.: I should have my head examined.

Brittany: So you'll do it?

J.T.: You got yourself a fiancé.

Brittany: J.T., thank you! You're the best. You're the best. Oh, my God! What am I gonna wear?

J.T.: I don't know.

Bobby: Isn't it pretty common, when people have been together for a long time that stuff like this happens?

Nikki: Don't think that I don't love my husband.

Bobby: I wasn't thinking anything.

Nikki: It's just distance. He has his own priorities.

Bobby: Most men do.

Nikki: Well, what does that mean? You saying I'm overreacting?

Bobby: Well, how the hell would I know? I can just see how living with him can be tough sometimes.

Nikki: Well put.

Bobby: And tonight, we're gonna have to tough it out without you, aren't we?

Nikki: (Sighs) Victor wants us to go to the Harvest Dinner Dance.

Bobby: Oh, at the Colonnade Room. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Nikki: Oh, yes, it'll be a thrill a minute. Half of Genoa City's most elite will be there. It's a recipe for disaster.

Bobby: Yeah, I'll tell you what you do-- go home, put on one of your prettiest dresses, and do a little slow dance with the old man. You'll be surprised how that can get you on track.

Nikki: What is this, Marsino's armchair psychology?

Bobby: Yeah, well, you learn a little somethin'-- somethin', workin' in a bar as much as I do.

Nikki: I guess. Thanks for listening to me.

Bobby: Yeah, anytime.

Alex: (Gasping)

Phyllis: Damon. Damon! Damon, stop! I want you to stop. Stop right now. Damon, stop. If you don't stop, you'll lose everything. I want you to put him down. Put him down!

Alex: (Gasping and groaning)

Phyllis: Take a step back, please, take a step back.

Alex: (Whimpers and gasps)

Damon: That boy don't deserve your consideration. Isn't that right, Alex? Isn't that right?!

Alex: (Coughs)

Phyllis: (Softly) it's over. It's over. We're safe. He's not a threat anymore. Do you understand?

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Elliot: You still believe I'm hiding something from you?

Jill: I didn't say that.

J.T.: Be nice to me. Otherwise, I'll tell them you're marrying Bobby Marsino.

Daniel: I asked you to come home, so I could tell you the truth about what I did.
