Dru: It's good to be home.

Neil: It's good to have you home, honey.

Dru: Yeah, yeah. So don't everybody talk at once. What's going on?

Neil: What about you? How was, uh, your trip?

Dru: My trip was fantastic. Neil, I got so much done, but, um, you know what? I could not stop thinking about Devon. I think that this is gonna be the hardest thing for me to do, to tell that boy that he's gonna be leaving this house.

Olivia: H-honey, there's something that we have to tell you.

Neil: Lily and Devon are gone.

Dru: What do you mean, they're gone?

Neil: Read this.

Damon: Say it again.

Ben: Damon, you heard me. That scum who killed your kid, he's been granted a hearing, pardon and parole, which means he could be back on the streets--

Damon: No, no, Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben, pard-- pardon and parole? He's a convicted killer.

Ben: The word I'm getting, the chances are good he'll go free.

Damon: No. No! No, he murdered-- he murdered my-- he murdered my son.

Ben: Look, Damon, I know this is bad news.

Damon: I said no. Did you hear me? Are you list-- no! No! They can't do it! God!

Diane: Damon, what is it?

Brittany: You want to set a wedding date?

Bobby: Why not? Isn't that what you want?

Brittany: Well, of course. I've been waiting for you to say something.

Bobby: Yeah, I know. It's been taking me a little while to get on the stick, but this is something I definitely want to make official. That is, of course, unless you're having second thoughts.

Brittany: No way!

Bobby: You know, because if you are, it's not a problem. You can still back out. I have the receipt for the ring. There's a couple of watches I been looking at.

Brittany: Don't you dare. I can't wait to be Mrs. Bobby Marsino.

Bobby: Yeah, I like the sound of that.

Brittany: Okay, so a wedding date.

Bobby: Mm-hmm.

Brittany: When were you thinking?

Bobby: I don't know, let me think. Okay, definitely fall.

Brittany: I like fall weddings, too. They're a little unconventional, but who cares? And it gives me a whole year to get ready.

Bobby: Whoa, whoa, whoa, what do you mean a whole year? This fall.

Brittany: But we're already in the middle of September.

Bobby: Yeah, so?

Brittany: So don't take this the wrong way, but are you insane? Do you have any idea how much work goes into planning a wedding?

Bobby: Yeah, but it's not like we're going all out on this thing. I told you, money's a little tight for me. And it's not like your parents are gonna be chipping in.

Brittany: Well, I know we have to keep things simple, but I still have to find a dress, and I have to book a church and hire a photographer and send out invitations.

Bobby: La la la la or we could skip all that.

Brittany: What are you talking about?

Bobby: Yeah, we could just go down to city hall and take care of this today.

Phyllis: Nobody's home you're inviting me back to your house?

Jack: Hey, it used to be your house, too.

Phyllis: I remember.

Jack: I do, too.

Phyllis: Jack...

Jack: Hey, we could just sit out by the pool, take in some rays, maybe go for a swim.

Phyllis: You wouldn't be trying to come on to me, would you?

Jack: Moi?

Phyllis: You forget how well I know you.

Jack: Oh, I haven't forgotten a thing.

Phyllis: So you wanna just talk?

Jack: Looks to me like you could use a friend. This was a friendly offer. I don't know why you'd think anything else.

Phyllis: Because I know you.

Victor: Now I know that you're experienced security guards. That's why I hired you. But don't for one moment assume that this is gonna be a walk in the park, because it ain't. Some serious stuff has gone down here, all right?

Man: Don't worry, Mr. Newman.

Man #2: We take every job seriously.

Victor: Thank you. I appreciate that. I intend to provide a safe place for the community. That's what I promised. I intend to deliver on that promise, come hell or high water.

(Telephone rings)

Daniel: Hello.

Alex: Romalotti, you're a dead man.

Daniel: Alex?

Alex: I told you not to throw salt in my game.

Daniel: W-what are you talking about?

Alex: Anything happened to my friends, and you are gonna pay, bro.

Daniel: W-what happened?

Alex: Don't play dumb. You called the dude that runs Rec center. He kicked 'em out. Thought you'd scare me off like that, huh?

Daniel: Alex, what are you talking about? Why would I do that?

Alex: Then why weren't you there? We had an agreement. You were supposed to hook up my crew and run interference.

Daniel: Yeah, I-I couldn't be there. Kevin was supposed to go for me.

Alex: Screw Kevin! This was between you and me. Yo, you lie to me, and you're gonna pay the price, you and that big-mouthed mother of yours.

Brittany: You're kidding, right?

Bobby: Well, it's something to think about.

Brittany: I'm not getting married at city hall.

Bobby: I don't see why not. What's the big deal?

Brittany: Because it is a big deal. It's our wedding day. I want it to be special.

Bobby: Yeah, you know, none of my other wives had a problem with it.

Brittany: (Laughs)

Bobby: I can't believe you're gonna make me wait a whole year to make you my wife.

Brittany: Mm, I know. That is a long time.

Bobby: Yeah, I'm gonna go crazy. I don't think I can wait another 12 months just to show the whole world how crazy I am about you.

Brittany: (Giggles) now you're just trying to butter me up.

Bobby: Absolutely. Is it working?

Brittany: Hey, how about next spring?

Bobby: What do you mean, "next spring"? You said how much you like fall weddings.

Brittany: I know, but I can't put things together that quickly.

Bobby: Then I tell you what, I will help you with whatever it is you need.

Brittany: Oh, Bobby.

Bobby: You just gotta have some faith.

Brittany: Okay, how about two months?

Bobby: No, one month.

Brittany: But that's impossible.

Bobby: Okay, six weeks. Final offer, take it or leave it.

Brittany: Now I'm the one who must be insane.

Bobby: Okay, would that be a yes?

Brittany: It'll take a miracle, but if that's what you really want...

Bobby: Here, let me see your calendar here. That would put us the end of October, right about Halloween.

Brittany: Hmm.

J.T.: Well, that sounds about right. Your wedding is gonna be pretty damn scary.

Ashley: You sure we've come at a good time?

Victor: Of course. Have a seat.

Ashley: Excuse me, honey. Now come here.

Victor: How are you doing, sweetheart?

Abby: I'm fine.

Victor: Mm-hmm.

Abby: Mommy's taking me to school.

Victor: Oh, yeah.

Ashley: We thought we'd stop by here first, though, check out the schedule, see what classes Abby wants to attend, right?

Victor: Well, I'll tell you what, this afternoon they have some drama classes for young kids. Maybe you would like to join one of them.

Abby: Drama, what's that?

Ashley: It's like acting, sweetie.

Abby: You mean like playing pretend?

Ashley: Mm-hmm, exactly, only you wear a costume, you do it with your friends, and it's a story somebody's written.

Abby: Wow, that sounds like fun.

Ashley: It does, huh? I don't want to keep you from what you were doing.

Victor: Give me just one moment, all right? If you notice anything suspicious going down here, you let me know right away.

Man: We understand, Mr. Newman.

Victor: Thank you.

Man #2: We won't let anything happen.

Victor: I hope not. Thank you.

Man: You're welcome.

Victor: So... where were we?

Diane: Damon, what's going on? Has--has something happened?

Damon: Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Diane: Something bad?

Damon: Yeah, yeah, okay? Very bad. I think something else is going to.

Diane: Well, te-tell me what you're talking about.

Damon: Um, you know, I, um... I need to--I need to think. Can I be alone? You were just leaving, right, Diane?

Diane: No, you need someone here with you right now. Let me help you.

Damon: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, you canít. You need to leave.

Diane: Okay, tell me about the phone call. Did--did somebody die, is that it?

Damon: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Somebody died.

Diane: Who? I mean, what's going on?

Damon: Diane, would you like to help me? Would you please just go home, all right? Y-you take care of your little boy, you tell him you love him, you tell him he's the most important thing in your life. But you just--you gotta leave.

Diane: Okay, okay, I'll--I'll leave. Just--just tell me why. I wanna understand wh--

Damon: Because it's not good-- it's not good for you or anyone to be around me right-- just please leave.

Diane: Do you want me to call somebody?

Damon: No, Di--

Diane: All right, all right.

Damon: Go.

Diane: I'm going.

Jack: Hey, you wanna talk, we'll talk. Anything you like.

Phyllis: I don't think it's a good idea.

Jack: Why not?

Phyllis: You know why not.

Jack: How about just for old time's sake?

Phyllis: (Chuckles) I might be tempted.

Jack: Well, nothing wrong with a little temptation, is there?

Phyllis: Sometimes, there is.

Jack: Okay, okay, I hear you loud and clear. I don't know, maybe old habits die hard. I just-- I just wanna be there for you.

Phyllis: Thank you.

Jack: Sounds like you're going through something pretty heavy.

Phyllis: Yeah, it's pretty heavy.

Jack: And it's not just about Daniel.

Phyllis: No, it's not.

Jack: Earlier you said something profound was happening between you and what's his name, Porter.

Phyllis: Yeah, something's going on with Damon.

Jack: Something profound good or profound not so good?

Phyllis: Door number three.

Jack: Not sure I follow.

Phyllis: Sometimes the truth is a double-edged sword.

Jack: Wait a minute, Mr. Mellow has a few secrets that are now coming out?

Phyllis: Yeah, well, it's not what you're thinking.

Jack: What am I thinking?

Phyllis: There's not another woman.

Jack: Nothing for the gossip columns, no--no wife in hiding.

Phyllis: No, no, no, no, no. He's--he's had some terrible things happen to him.

Jack: Haven't we all?

Phyllis: Not like this. Nothing like this.

Brittany: What are you doing here?

J.T.: What, you're not excited to see me?

Bobby: Do you mind? We're in the middle of something here.

J.T.: Yeah, I heard. Choosing a wedding date, now that's exciting.

Bobby: That's right, and we don't need any comments from the peanut gallery, so why don't you beat it?

J.T.: I came by to make sure you're doing all right.

Brittany: I'm fine.

J.T.: You sure? You sounded a little strange on the phone earlier.

Bobby: Honey, is something wrong here?

Brittany: Nothing's wrong.

Bobby: Are you sure? 'Cause if something's wrong, I want to know about it.

Brittany: J.T. called to find out how it went last night, and I told him everything turned out great. And that's all he needs to know, right?

Bobby: All right, I got you here. Yeah, everything was fine, okay?

J.T.: All right, if you say so.

Brittany: Now make yourself useful and help us decide on a wedding date.

Bobby: Whoa, whoa, wait a minute. What does he get to choose for?

J.T.: Oh, you haven't told him yet.

Bobby: She hasn't told me what?

Brittany: I asked J.T. To stand up for me.

Bobby: (Snickers) you gotta be kidding me.

J.T.: All right, save the jokes, big guy.

Bobby: No, no, no, I didn't even say anything. I think that you're gonna make a beautiful bridesmaid.

J.T.: Oh, yeah.

Bobby: You know what? You might even catch the bouquet.

J.T.: You know what? I don't need this. I'm outta here.

Brittany: Hey, let's just settle on a date. Can we just do that, please?

Bobby: Let me look, let me look. All right. (Chuckles) you know, I got it right here. How about Saturday, October 30th?

Brittany: That works.

J.T.: Can't do it. Got plans.

Brittany: What kind of plans?

J.T.: I got plans, you know? Something big, all right? Pick another day.

Bobby: Fine. How about Monday, November 1st?

Brittany: Sounds good to me. J.T.?

J.T.: Mm, I don't know. I'm gonna have to check my dates, check my plan.

Brittany: November 1st it is.

Bobby: Uh-huh.

Brittany: You will be there.

J.T.: I'll-I'll try to squeeze it in. I can't promise anything.

Bobby: Lucky us.

J.T.: Actually, you know what? Monday would be a really good idea. It's probably a pretty slow night around the skin club, right, Bobby?

Bobby: You know what, kid? You're really lookin' to lean into a punch, aren't you?

Brittany: Ignore him, Bobby. He's trying to be annoying.

Bobby: Mm-hmm. It's working.

Brittany: Look, the important thing is we have a date. On November 1st, you and I will be husband and wife. And nobody can stand in our way.

Bobby: Mmm. Come here.

Dru: "Dad... Devon is running away because you won't let him stay with us. He says he won't go to another group home, and I don't blame him. You didn't leave him any choice but to take off. As for me, I'm going with him. I ca--I cannot believe that you could be so cold. Lily." Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

Neil: Drucilla, they've been gone since last night.

Dru: Neil, I begged you! I begged you not to tell him until I got back.

Neil: I didnít. Lily read a letter from child services.

Dru: Lily told Devon that he was being sent away?

Neil: It's hard to believe, but apparently the kid picked up something from my expression and figured out his time here was up.

Dru: Why doesn't that surprise me? What are we doing about finding our daughter?

Neil: We are doing everything we ca--I am personally doing everything. The police are out there right now looking for her.

Dru: The police, okay, the police.

Olivia: Kevin Fisher saw the both of them in the park last night. He said they were fine. He tried to convince Lily to come home, but she wouldn't listen.

Dru: All right, okay, my daughter has been out on the streets all night long-- excuse me, I gotta sit down here, folks.

Neil: Honey, honey, listen to me. We just have to believe that the police will find them. We have to.

Dru: Okay, Liv, could you leave Neil and me alone, please? Can you do that for me?

Olivia: Yeah.

Dru: Thank you.

Olivia: Things are gonna be okay, okay?

Dru: Yeah.

Olivia: Just call me if you need me.

Dru: Yeah, right. Yeah.

Ashley: Victor, do you think we could get Abby some juice?

Victor: I'm sure it can be arranged. Sweetheart, if you go behind that bar over there... what's the matter?

Abby: Do you still have the horsey I made you?

Victor: Of course I have that horsey. I love that horsey. You know where it is? It's in my office on my desk. Now how about the juice?

Abby: Oh, I already know where everything is.

Victor: Aha.

Ashley: Well, then could you go to the kitchen and just stay there for a little while so Victor and I have a chance to catch up?

Abby: Okay, Mommy.

Ashley: Bye, sweetie.

Abby: Bye.

Ashley: What's going on? You look a little grim today.

Victor: I'm sad to say something happened around here that has me somewhat troubled.

J.T.: You two about finished yet?

Bobby: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mmm.

Brittany: Are we making you uncomfortable?

J.T.: No, I'm just wondering if I should break out the hose.

Bobby: Yeah, that won't be necessary. I gotta get outta here anyways.

J.T.: Why, you got some secret business to take care of, Bobby?

Bobby: No, nothing secret at all. I just gotta get to the bank. You know, I don't wanna have all this cash lying around.

Brittany: How soon will you be back?

Bobby: Uh, actually, I might be a little while. Do you want me to drop you somewhere?

Brittany: No, that's okay. I'll get a ride from J.T.

Bobby: Okay. In that case, I will see you later.

J.T.: Oh, boy. That's great.

Brittany: (Giggles)

Bobby: (Laughs) good-bye, baby.

Brittany: Bye.

J.T.: Wow, Bobby's in a good mood.

Brittany: Why wouldn't he be? He's marrying me.

J.T.: Yeah, but see, I thought it had to do with all the money he made last night.

Brittany: Well, that might be part of it.

J.T.: So things went pretty well here, huh?

Brittany: Bobby said it was one of his best nights ever.

J.T.: Really? People were actually interested in a bunch of new girls?

Brittany: Surprised me, too.

J.T.: Brittany. Hey, Britt.

Brittany: Yeah?

J.T.: Did something happen last night? Don't tell me you got up on-- did you get up on stage last night?

Brittany: Why would you think that?

J.T.: You did, didn't you? Aw, Britt-- what are you thinking?

Brittany: Okay, yes, I did. But I felt like I had to do something.

J.T.: Right.

Brittany: I mean, the night was a complete bust. People were starting to get up and leave.

J.T.: So Bobby just asked you to dust off your old routine and hop up there, huh?

Brittany: He didn't ask me to do anything. It was all my idea. And I'm not sorry about it. It was actually fun to get up there again. I was nervous at first, but then I sort of got into the spirit.

J.T.: Oh, all for the guy you love. Great. Please tell me it was a one-time thing.

Brittany: Yes, definitely.

J.T.: Why don't I believe you?

Brittany: I don't care what you believe. Anyway, I'm not gonna get back up there again because Brenda and Maureen are coming back. And Bobby made it very clear he doesn't want me dancing anymore.

J.T.: Oh, the--the pimp with the heart of gold.

Brittany: Don't call him that. Now are we done with this conversation? Because you and I have work to do.

J.T.: Oh, no, don't tell me. No, I don't want to do that right now.

Brittany: Yes, that's right. It's time to go shopping for wedding stuff.

J.T.: That's great.

Brittany: I have all my notes and my catalogs in here. And now all we have to do is hit the stores. Grab my purse, will you?

J.T.: Get your own purse.

Brittany: Lighten up. You'll have fun.

J.T.: (Laughs) what if I don't?

Brittany: Then at least you'll learn a thing or two.

J.T.: Have I told you how much I hate you?

Brittany: Come on.

Jack: You sure you don't want to share the details with your old pal Jackie?

Phyllis: I canít. I'm sorry. I really opened Pandoraís box, didn't it?

Jack: Look, I respect your wanting to keep it confidential, but I hate to see it eating away at you.

Phyllis: I know. Thank you. It's like everything is folding into everything else, and this thing that's going on with Damon has me more worried about my son.

Jack: Hey... you're supposed to worry about your son. If you weren't worried about your son, Daniel wouldn't be doing his job. I don't know how some kids make it out of their teenage years.

Phyllis: That's what I'm afraid of.

Jack: Hey, would you stop worrying? He's gonna be just fine.

Phyllis: Are you certain of that?

Jack: He's a bright kid, he's got a lot going for him, not the least of which is he's got a terrific mother.

Phyllis: Thank you. You're sweet.

Jack: Not exactly the reaction I was hoping for.

Phyllis: You're also bad.

Jack: Can't blame a guy for trying. (Cell phone rings) (Ring) (Ring)

Phyllis: Oh, I think that's mine.

Jack: Yeah, I think that's you.

Phyllis: Okay. I'm sorry. I have to take it because it might be--

Jack: Hey, no problem. Some of us still have to work for a living.

Daniel: Come on, Mom, pick up the phone. (Ring)

Daniel: Come on.

Phyllis: Hello.

Daniel: Mom. Mom, uh, where are you?

Phyllis: I'm... Daniel? Daniel?

Daniel: Yeah, where are you?

Phyllis: Uh, I'm at breakfast.

Daniel: Can you come home, please?

Phyllis: Why?

Daniel: We need to talk.

Phyllis: What's going on?

Daniel: C-can you just please come home? I-I need to tell you something.

Phyllis: Okay. I-I'll be right there.

Jack: What's going on with daniel?

Phyllis: I-I don't know. I-I... I have to go.

Jack: Okay, okay, go, go. I'll get the check.

Phyllis: All right.

Jack: Get outta here.

Phyllis: Thank you. Are you sure?

Jack: Hey, hey, call me if you need help.

Phyllis: I will. Thank you.

Dru: I see you're reading the book I got you.

Devon: Yeah.

Dru: I want you to finish it.

Devon: Hey, are you all right?

Dru: What? Yeah. Why?

Devon: Why you look so sad?

Dru: Oh, honey, I'm-- these are tears of pride. I'm just so proud of you. You know, you're on track. It's a--it's a beautiful thing to witness.

Devon: Well, it's all because of you.

Dru: Oh, you had a part in it, too, doll.

Devon: Yeah, but, if you and Neil hadn't let me come stay here with you guys, where would I be right now? In some group home all alone.

Dru: True. But now you have people who care about you. Do you know how special you are?

Devon: Well, I do now because of you, Mrs. Winters. And I just wanna tell you guys that I really, really appreciate everything that you've done for me. And I promise you that I won't let you guys down.

Dru: I don't know what we're gonna do.

Neil: I'll tell you what we're not gonna do, okay? We are not gonna freak out. We are not gonna fall apart.

Dru: Oh, I'll freak out if I want to, Neil! And I don't care who hears us, okay? We have a 16-year-old daughter out there in the streets! God knows what kind of trouble she could be in.

Neil: All right, all right. This is not doing any good here. I'm sure that detective Weber will be calling any minute with some information.

Dru: Detective Weber... Neil, do you know that kids go missing every single day, and some of them are never found?

Neil: Honey, those are usually abductions. Yes, I know about-- Devon and Lily, they ran off on their own. Chances are they're right here in Genoa City.

Dru: You know what? I'm gonna find out for myself, all right?

Neil: No! Don't you dare walk out that door. Let the police do their job.

Dru: (Stamps foot)

Neil: I've already called all of Lily's friends. Maybe they're staying with one of Devonís friends that he hasn't mentioned before.

Dru: How could you leave a letter that explosive sitting on a desk somewhere for Lily to read?!

Neil: I didn't leave it! Lily beat me to the mailbox she came to my work. She was very upset about it.

Dru: Pissed even, right? And she felt betrayed, too, no doubt.

Neil: Yeah, I suppose she was betrayed.

Dru: Then if you knew that, then why did you ever let her out of your sight, Neil?

Neil: Because it never occurred to me that she would run away. Especially since, at the time, Devon had no knowledge of that letter from child services.

Dru: I should've listened to my first voice. I never should've taken that business trip. I never should've--

Neil: No, no, no, no, no, stop yourself right there, okay? Because there's no point in your blaming yourself about this.

Dru: I don't blame myself. I blame you.

Neil: Now wait a minute.

Dru: No, you wait a minute. Neil, if you had have put the boy's feelings before your own, we wouldn't be in this predicament.

Neil: No, no, that's not the point.

Dru: Oh, it is the point. Why didn't you stall the situation until I got back from work so we coulda sat down and--and explained to this child what was happening?

Neil: Explain what, Dru? His stay here was supposed to be temporary, until a group home opened up here in Genoa City.

Dru: Oh, Neil, Neil--

Neil: Am I right, or am I right?

Dru: But that was before we saw how beautifully he was blending into our family.

Neil: Oh, come on, honey, that's--that's open for debate now.

Dru: Why, because-- why, because you caught the two of them holding hands? It was so innocent.

Neil: First it's holding hands, then it's kissing, then it's you know what. You know that!

Dru: I don't understand why you have been so stubborn around this child living with us. We could've done so much for him, Neil. Neil, God, we could've done so much, and god help you if anything happens to our Lily. I don't know what you are going to do. God help you.

Alex: Dude, how do you put up with her? I mean, your ma is light on the eyes and all, but she's a royal bitch.

Daniel: Mom!

Phyllis: Creep.

Alex: That was uncool. Very uncool.

Phyllis: Really? Was it uncool? Well, next time somebody asks you to leave, maybe you'll get the message.

Alex: Nobody slaps me in the face, nobody. Especially not a woman.

Phyllis: I won't just slap you in the face.

Daniel: Mom!

Phyllis: Get the hell outta my house.

Daniel: Just go, Alex.

Phyllis: Get outta here.

Daniel: Just go. Just go.

Phyllis: Get out of here.

Daniel: Let's go!

Alex: You have no idea how uncool that was, lady.

Daniel: Just go. Just go.

Alex: I'm gon' get you, too, boy.

Daniel: Yeah, you got me. Yeah, you got me good. Good. Mom, what were you thinking, slapping him in the face like that?

Phyllis: I was thinking someone needed to slap him in the face.

Daniel: And great-- and now he's all pissed off!

Phyllis: I don't really care if he's pissed off. And why are you so upset that he's pissed off?

Daniel: I gotta do it. I gotta tell her everything.

Damon: Hey. Is your mother home?

Daniel: No, she's not.

Damon: Will she back soon?

Daniel: I-I don't know. I-I'll tell her to call you.

Damon: You know, I got something I need to say to you.

Daniel: D-Damon, please, not today, okay?

Damon: Just hear me out, all right?

Daniel: And what more could you possibly have to say to me?

Damon: We're gonna talk, slick. 'Cause I ain't leavin' till we do.

Victor: I caught some... drug peddlers around here, red-handed.

Ashley: Are you kidding me? I find it very disturbing they would come in here.

Victor: Yeah. Next time, they're gonna find themselves in hospital or in a jail cell.

Ashley: Had you ever seen them before?

Victor: No. Which makes me wonder if they're connected to someone around here.

Ashley: Do you think this has been going on since the opening?

Victor: I have no idea, but I certainly am gonna find out.

Ashley: What are you gonna do?

Victor: Anyone coming in here in a place that I built wanting to sell drugs is challenging me personally. And that means I'll declare war on them.

Brittany: Oh, come on. It wasn't that bad.

J.T.: It was worse. I can't believe you dragged me into all those stores.

Brittany: You had fun, admit it.

J.T.: Right. About as much fun as smashing my thumb with a hammer. Can you believe those sales clerks actually thought we were gettin' married?

Brittany: No kidding. One of 'em told me we looked cute together.

J.T.: (Chuckles) yeah, well, please tell me I don't have to do that again.

Brittany: Well, we did accomplish a lot today, so maybe you're off the hook.

J.T.: Oh, thank god! Finally.

Brittany: I said "maybe," if you're nice to me.

J.T.: I'm always nice to you.

Brittany: Yeah, right. (Cell phone rings) (Ring) (Ring)

Brittany: Hmm. It's a "private caller." Must be Bobby calling from the club. (Ring)

Brittany: Hey, lover boy.

Anita: Well, hello, Brittany. This is your mother.

Brittany: Mom!

Daniel: Fine. What is it?

Damon: You think your mother and I are overreacting when it comes to this, uh, this gangbanger Alex.

Daniel: So?

Damon: You know what, man? I admire you for thinking you can handle someone like that. I truly do. But, Daniel, it just ain't so. And I don't say that to make you feel small. It's just not a game we're playing here. That kid's a bomb. He's waiting to explode.

Daniel: You know what? Thanks. Thanks for the advice. You know, I'll keep that in mind.

Damon: You know what else? I know you don't like me. And that's okay. I don't-- I don't always like me either. But I also know you're smart enough to recognize the truth when you hear it. Some things you don't wanna learn by doing, man. It's better to learn from other people's mistakes.

Daniel: Like yours?

Damon: Mm-hmm. Sure. So take it from me, you get mixed up with somebody like Alex, you're asking for a world of pain.

Daniel: You know, I got it. Fine. But you know, I-I really should finish up some homework, okay?

Damon: You'll tell your mother I came by? It's important.

Daniel: Yeah, I will.

Ashley: Well, after what you just told me, I'm sure glad you hired that extra security.

Victor: Yeah. Obviously, the safety of the kids is of greatest concern to me. I just hate to turn this into an armed camp.

Ashley: Yeah, but, you know, I think whoever wants to cause trouble will get the message, and they'll stay away.

Victor: But I hope it doesn't mean that Bradley will renege on his agreement to allow Abby to come here and play.

Ashley: No, he wants this to work just as much as you do.

Victor: All right.

Ashley: So don't look for trouble.

Victor: I wonít.

Ashley: And I told him the same thing, okay?

Victor: I'll try to meet him halfway.

Ashley: Right. 'Cause that's what's best for Abby.

Victor: Now since most of the programs around here don't start till 4:30...

Ashley: Mm-hmm.

Victor: Would it put you out to bring her here right after school so that I could spend some time with her?

Ashley: It's fine with me. We'll see what she wants to do, but I'm sure she'd like that. Hi.

Abby: Mommy! Am I gonna be late for school?

Ashley: Oh!

Victor: Uh-oh. Uh-oh.

Ashley: Maybe. We better run.

Victor: You better run. See you later, sweetheart.

Ashley: Come on, you.

Victor: Bye-bye.

Abby: Bye.

Victor: Bye-bye. Nice to see you.

Ashley: (Laughs) bye, Victor. Come on. We gotta run. Come on.

Neil: I shoulda known this was gonna happen. I shoulda known that you would blame me for this!

Dru: You know, I'm not the one that wanted to send that boy packing just as he was turning the corner and beginning to trust us.

Neil: The only mistake I made was letting that kid move in here to begin with.

Dru: No, was he really that much of a-a problem, Neil? Was he mussing up your gloss life that much?

Neil: That's not the point, and you know it. I warned you-- I warned you that Devon might get hurt in this process, but you didn't want to believe me so don't go pinning this on me.

Dru: You know, the only one that hurt him was you because you were unwilling to bend. You never really wanted to be his foster father. I could see that.

Neil: You know what? You're the one-- you are the one who hurt Devon. You know why? Because you weren't honest with him. That's right. You let him believe that he might be able to live here, even though you knew that I was dead set against it!

Dru: Neil, I just-- I just want Lily back. Just--I just want Lily back. I just want our... (Door opens)

Dru: Our daughter...

Neil: Lily!

Dru: Lily! My God, where have you been?! We were worried sick about you! Thank God you're home.

Brittany: Mom, hi. I didn't know it was you.

Anita: Obviously not. So how are you, sweetheart?

Brittany: I'm fine. Why are you calling?

Anita: Well, um, I just wanted to know what's going on. I just got a call from Muffy Bennett.

Brittany: Your tennis partner?

Anita: Mm-hmm. She said she saw you and J.T. coming out of Wileyís bridal boutique, and I told her she must be mistaken. But then I got a call from my friend Fran Lockhart who works in the fine china department over at Fenmoreís. According to her, you were there picking up catalogs and talking about registering.

Brittany: She said that? How strange.

Anita: Is there anything you want to tell me?

Brittany: I really can't talk right now.

Anita: Okay. Well, then fine. We'll, uh, we'll talk tonight.

Brittany: Tonight?

Anita: Yes, yes. Your father would like you to meet us at the Colonnade Room. Well, you and J.T. they're having the Harvest dinner and dance. Now I've already made reservations. You will show up, won't you, Brittany?

Brittany: I really don't think we want to go out tonight.

Anita: I thought I might call Tom and Martha Hellstrom. We could invite them to join us.

Brittany: No, you can't, 'cause they're away on a cruise.

Anita: Oh, well, just you and J.T. then. Come on, sweetheart. We'll talk about your plans. Although, you've obviously been at pains to keep them secret.

Brittany: I can't make any promises. I have to check my calendar.

Anita: You know, Brittany, it's really not fair to hide this from your parents.

Brittany: I have to go. I'll call you back, Mom.

J.T.: What's going on?

Brittany: You don't have any plans tonight, do you?

J.T.: Why?

Brittany: J.T., I am counting on you, and you cannot let me down.

J.T.: Oh, no, no, I don't think so.

Alex: You play baseball?

Daniel: What are you doing? You can't be in here!

Alex: I'm already in here, Danny boy. The question is, what are you gonna do about it?

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Brittany: I can't tell them about Bobby. It's too soon.

J.T.: I think that news is always gonna come too soon.

Bobby: Guys just looked at you and could feel the sizzle, me included.

Daniel: I can't control Victor Newman. I never said that I could!

Alex: Shut up!
