Sharon: There has gotta be another way. There has to be.

Nikki: Sharon, I have gone over this in my mind a thousand times. The only way we can get Cameron Kirsten out of our lives is to tell Nicholas the truth.

Sharon: Where would I even begin?

Nikki: Maybe you're not giving your husband enough credit.

Sharon: Nicholas will never understand why I kept this from him all these months.

Nikki: Come on! Cameron tried to rape you!

Sharon: I know, but--

Nikki: Sharon, none of what happened is your fault. Why would Nicholas blame you?

Sharon: Because I didn't tell him right away, and I should've. Instead, I panicked, and I tried to cover my tracks.

Nikki: Well, I have to admit, that part was not very smart.

Sharon: And even if he did forgive me for that, what about Denver? How would I explain that?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Grace: Nick? Were you gonna walk right by without even saying hi?

Nick: Actually, I didn't even notice you.

Grace: And if you had?

Nick: I would have kept walking.

Grace: Sit down. I won't bite.

Nick: You know, I'm surprised you're still even in town.

Grace: Why wouldn't I be?

Nick: Figured you'd be too embarrassed, particularly after the trouble you caused.

Grace: So I was wrong about a couple of things. I've been wrong before.

Nick: That's it? No apology? No explanation?

Grace: What do I have to apologize and explain for?

Nick: How about for making that outrageous accusation against my wife, for blaming her for Cameronís murder, going to the police when the guy wasn't even dead?

Grace: I didn't know that at the time.

Nick: But that didn't stop you, did it, from coming up with this ridiculous scenario in your mind, trying to implicate Sharon, when the whole time, the so-called "love of your life" was on some island with an ex-girlfriend? Must've been a real shock to your ego, huh, Grace?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(J.T. strumming guitar stops playing, remembering when he said goodbye to Colleen.)

Colleen: My locket.

J.T.: "Hold on to my heart. Keep it safe."

Colleen: "Until I ask for it back."

J.T.: I love you, blue eyes.

Colleen: (Mouths) I love you.

-----------------------------------------

(Knock on door)

Mac: Hey.

J.T.: Mac. What are you... I mean--

Mac: I was gonna use my old key, but I wasn't sure if you guys had changed the locks.

J.T.: Well, we haven't, so don't just stand there. Come on in.

Mac: I was hoping you were gonna say that.

J.T.: I mean... it's, you know, it's good to see you. Come here. How long have you been in town?

Mac: Long enough to know that I'm in the presence of a star. I heard about your recording contract. Congratulations!

J.T.: Yeah, well, thanks.

Mac: Whoa. Don't get too excited there, might not look cool.

J.T.: Sorry about that. It's just, uh, I guess I'm just kind of over that part.

Mac: Well, um, if it was me, I'd still be jumping up and down.

J.T.: Yeah, well, I guess I just wore myself out.

Mac: Does Colleen feel as nonchalant about this as you do?

J.T.: I wouldn't know.

Mac: What's that supposed to mean?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Danny: Daniel, why would you want to leave?

Daniel: Break's over. Thatíll this was, right, just a little vacation?

Danny: Yeah, but summer school doesn't start for weeks. Your friends won't even be back in Switzerland yet.

Daniel: So I'll enjoy the peace and quiet.

Danny: What's going on here? Where is this coming from? You were having a great time here, and then the past couple of days, I pick up this vibe that something's really bothering you. What is it?

Daniel: A "vibe"?

Chris: I've noticed it, too.

Danny: Did something happen that we don't know about?

Daniel: I asked you guys a few simple questions, and you went all CIA on me-- kind of like, why are we even bothering? I'll just get out of your way, you know?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Damon: Where-- where, where, where-- where did that come from?

Phyllis: Well, you can't blame a girl for being curious.

Damon: You want to know about my past?

Phyllis: Well, no. I want to know about you. That's what I want to know about. I mean, there's so much that's a mystery to me.

Damon: Such as?

Phyllis: I don't know, I mean... you. Your past, your--you know, what you did when you were little, your family.

Damon: We need to get into that now?

Phyllis: Well, no, unless you have something better to do.

Damon: Well, it's-- there's not much to tell.

Phyllis: Oh, come on. A sophisticated, sexy man like you? You must have a million stories.

Damon: Not really.

Phyllis: Huh. What about photos? Do you have any photos of when you were little?

Damon: Well, actually, you know, I don't--I don't-- I don't feel like--

Phyllis: You know, I saw--I saw some sort of photo album thing.

Damon: No. No, no. Phyllis, Phyllis, Phyllis. Donít. No, donít.

Phyllis: What? Why? What's the matter?

Damon: I just--I don't want to look at pictures.

Phyllis: You know what? I had an awkward stage, okay? I promise not to laugh. I think they're in here.

Damon: Hey! (Slams door closed)

Damon: I said no.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bobby: Look, come on, you gotta be kidding me. 12 bucks a stem? I've seen those things. They're paper-thin. What good is fancy wine if the stem breaks the first time you touch it, never mind try to wash it? Yeah, all right. Fine. If that's what you serve it in, that's what Marilynís cabaret is gonna serve it in. You send me three cases. You know what? Make it four, in case one breaks. All right. Day after tomorrow. Okay, bye. What do you got?

Raul: Usual--paychecks, deposit slips, couple things you gotta sign.

Bobby: Thanks. Great.

Raul: Hey, Bobby?

Bobby: Yeah?

Raul: Brittany told me about these plans of yours for the club.

Bobby: Yeah. She's pretty excited about it.

Raul: I guess.

Bobby: You guess? She's gonna have her name in lights. She's gonna be headlining at the only cabaret in town. I think she's doing cartwheels.

Raul: I don't get it.

Bobby: Yeah, I know. There's a lot of things that you don't get.

Raul: You got a good thing going for you here, something that you know how to do, and you do it well. It earns you a good living, yet you're willing to toss it away for something you have absolutely no clue about.

Bobby: What are you talking about, "no clue"? A strip joint's no different than a cabaret. You put on a show. You charge for drinks. The better the show, the more drinks you sell. No big mystery to it.

Raul: You're talking about bringing in a whole new customer base.

Bobby: So what are you saying-- I'm not good enough to mix with the uptown crowd?

Raul: I don't know. Are you? What about your partners-- or, I'm sorry, investors-- whatever they are? Do they know you're going out on a limb like this?

Bobby: Yeah, they know about it. They like the idea. You're just worried that this place is gonna be a big hit.

Raul: I'm worried about if it isnít. What if the public doesn't respond? What if you can't bring in the kind of people you need, Bobby? What if the whole thing's a flop, huh? You, oh, you'll go right back to the way things were and just get the girls stripping again, bada-boom! What about Brittany? What about her? What happens to her, Bobby?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brittany: Thank you.

Rose: Tell me more about this cabaret deal. It sounds so exciting.

Brittany: Are you kidding? It's a dream come true. Bobby is gonna rename the club for me-- well, for my stage name-- but still, to know that people are coming out just to hear me sing...

Rose: Kind of takes your breath away, huh?

Brittany: I never thought in a million years I'd be performing again.

Rose: See what you get when you don't give up? Who knows, you keep this up, and...

Brittany: And what? The sky's the limit?

Rose: No. Maybe you could get me a job there. I mean, I can carry a tune better than I can carry anything else.

Brittany: You're funny.

Rose: At least you can take a joke now. I mean, remember when we first met?

Brittany: I was too busy feeling sorry for myself to laugh at anything.

Rose: You've come a long way, Brittany.

Brittany: I can't believe I was so ready to give up, especially now, when the last thing Iíd want to do is blow my big chance.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

J.T.: Colleen and I aren't together anymore.

Mac: What? You don't even see each other?

J.T.: No. She's gone back to New York.

Mac: J.T., I'm sorry. Why? What happened? Something to do with your music deal?

J.T.: I guess we just found out that stars are far away and on their own.

Mac: I think I hear a song in that line.

Mac: I think it's time that you got someone in here to change your orbit.

J.T.: What are you talking about?

Mac: Okay, let me put it this way-- everything I own is down in my car.

J.T.: So you're homeless?

Mac: I don't know. You tell me.

J.T.: What about your grandma's place?

Mac: That's not where I want to be right now.

J.T.: Okay.

Mac: Hello, I'm sending you a message here. I was thinking maybe I could move back in here for awhile, if that's okay with you.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Damon: A little extreme. I'm sorry.

Phyllis: Um, did I do something wrong?

Damon: No, no. I'm generally just not comfortable talking about myself, that's all.

Phyllis: Not even with me?

Damon: With anyone, and that's--that's just the way I've always been.

Phyllis: Okay. All right.

Damon: What, Phyllis?

Phyllis: Well, I don't-- I don't understand that. I just donít. If I were a perfect stranger, okay, but after everything we've done in the bedroom and, you know...

Damon: Baby, my reticence doesn't have a thing to do with you. Trust me.

Phyllis: What does it have to do with?

Damon: I need some boundaries, that's all. It's no big deal.

Phyllis: All right. I understand.

Damon: Do you? What's the problem?

Phyllis: Uh, no problem, apparently. Right? I mean, I thought that-- I just thought that we had something more, and I guess I was wrong. It was my imagination.

Damon: Phyllis, come on.

Phyllis: No. I mean, its fine. It's fine to me. If this is just about sex, that's fine, but just tell me.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Danny: Daniel, I'm really sorry you feel we're not being forthcoming with you.

Daniel: What else is new?

Danny: I just--

Daniel: Ever since I was a little kid, it's been like, whoa, some big secret that I wasn't supposed to find out about. Now this is just more of the same, only it's worse now because I'm back here at the scene of the crime.

Danny: I wish you wouldn't put it that way.

Daniel: I'm sure you do. Just--I really should be going before things get weird here.

Danny: Can you just-- can you do me a favor and please just sleep on it tonight?

Daniel: Why, like things are gonna be different in the morning?

Chris: Would it be all right if you and I talked?

Daniel: Why?

Chris: Because this evening is not going the way I had hoped. That's about as honest as I know how to be.

Daniel: Whatever.

Danny: All right, fine. We'll call it a night.

Chris: I'll walk you out.

Danny: I just really hope you... we'll talk in the morning, okay?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Grace: Cameron and I are just fine, if that's what you're wondering.

Nick: Really? So this guy cheats on you, puts you through hell, and you're pretending everything's cool?

Grace: Get to the point, Nick.

Nick: The point is, you should be furious. I mean, Kirsten-- he didn't just dump you. He left you twisting in the wind, thinking he was dead. And this whole time, he's off on a sex junket with another woman.

Grace: Look, we worked it all out. It was a misunderstanding.

Nick: Oh, that's a hell of a misunderstanding, Grace.

Grace: Look, I am thrilled that Cameronís alive. He's back. For me, that's good enough.

Nick: Yeah, well, that doesn't make any sense, Grace.

Grace: What are you talking about?

Nick: This guy treats you like dirt, worries you sick, makes you the laughing stock of this whole damn town. You should be mad as hell, but you seem to be taking it in stride, acting like--

Grace: Acting like what?

Nick: Like a doormat. Grace, that isn't you. No matter what I think about you, no matter what we went through, you never, ever acted like a doormat. And I have to question why you are letting this guy walk all over you like this.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nikki: (Sighs) I'd almost forgotten about Denver.

Sharon: Well, I havenít. It was the lowest point of my life. I didn't think I had anything to live for.

Nikki: You're just gonna have to pray that Nicholas understands.

Sharon: He wonít. Trust has been a big issue between Nick and me, and it has taken me so long to try to repair the damage that I caused after running off last year like that.

Nikki: Honey, I know you're afraid, but we have no idea what Cameron is up to. What about that body? I mean, if he actually murdered somebody...

Sharon: Cameron is a lot more dangerous than we think.

Nikki: That's right. Now you could lose everything anyway. At least this way, you will have done the right thing, and your conscience will be clear.

Sharon: Well, what do I do, just admit everything and let the chips fall?

Nikki: It's the only way.

Sharon: I wish I'd never met Cameron. He's evil.

Nikki: Oh! Speaking of evil, I ran into Grace at the coffeehouse, and get this-- she didn't even know that Cameron was back.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

J.T.: You want to move in here? Now?

Mac: I know it's not the greatest timing.

J.T.: No, no. Don't worry about it. It's okay. Of course you can move in. Yeah, it'll be like old times... almost.

Mac: That's what Raul thought when I asked him about it. He seemed to think it'd be okay.

J.T.: Wait. Wait a second. You talked to raul?

Mac: Yeah, why? What's wrong with that?

J.T.: Well, nothing, but I was thinking, I mean, what do you think Brittanyís gonna say?

Mac: Well, I assume he'd check with her. I haven't heard otherwise.

J.T.: Yeah, but you know how she is-- only one princess in the castle at a time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brittany: "Marilynís." That kind of rolls off your tongue, doesn't it?

Rose: I still think "Rose's" sounds better.

Brittany: Yeah, well, you'll have to take that one up with Bobby, but I don't think you'll get very far.

Rose: Somehow, that doesn't surprise me. I mean, he's pretty committed to this Marilyn girl.

Brittany: "Committed"? Meaning what?

Rose: Well, it's obvious. I mean, he named the club after you.

Brittany: You think he has feelings for me?

Rose: Well, don't you think that? Come on, Brittany. He's a nice-looking guy.

Brittany: Rose!

Rose: What? It's not something that you haven't thought of already.

Brittany: No, but... that's not the point.

Rose: What is?

Brittany: We work together. We're friends.

Rose: That's it?

Brittany: Maybe not. I can't tell what his feelings are for me.

Rose: It's not hard to figure that out.

Brittany: But you don't know Bobby. He's constantly surrounded by beautiful women.

Rose: Well, if that's what you're worried about, then why didn't he name the club after one of them?

Brittany: Because none of them was turned into a human light bulb there. Maybe he feels guilty. What if that's all it is?

Rose: Well, what does your heart say?

Brittany: I don't know. A part of me hopes its guilt. The other part--

Rose: The other part wants to love him back.

Brittany: Rose...

Rose: What? You're not fooling anybody. You light up whenever you're around him.

Brittany: Well, Bobby's done a lot of good things for me. He really made me feel like I could do something with my life.

Rose: So what's wrong with that?

Brittany: It's Bobby. I'm not supposed to feel that way about him. And lord knows how my parents feel. And then there's Raul. How could that be fair to him?

Rose: Love is not always fair.

Brittany: I know, but... I'm so scared of disappointing himóBobby.

Rose: Why?

Brittany: Because-- because of this. Because what if nobody likes me anymore? I mean, they weren't exactly coming to hear me sing.

Rose: Well, then that's their loss. You have a great voice, and Bobby knows it. Why don't you give this guy a chance?

Brittany: It's not that easy, Rose. I wish I could say I was confident... but I'm not, about so many things. I just don't know if he's a risk I want to take.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bobby: You don't give Brittany much credit, do you?

Raul: She wants to sing so badly, she doesn't realize the risk.

Bobby: What risk? Ooh, that her fairy tale won't come true?

Raul: She has enough challenges in her life already, Bobby.

Bobby: I knew you were gonna bring that up. So Brittany got burned. Her face isn't perfect. But I got her believing that she's a headliner in spite of all that.

Raul: Believing it and actually doing it are two separate things.

Bobby: Why is it that people like you don't want Brittany to believe in herself, and why is it that you're always getting in between her and what she wants? You're supposed to be somebody who loves her.

Raul: Hey, don't you ever doubt my love for Brittany, okay? Why do you think I'm here? I'm trying to protect her from some lowlife who's just using her to polish his own self-image, the same way he's been doing it since the first day he met her.

Bobby: Mm-hmm. Well, I must have come a long way, haven't I?

Raul: Oh, what--why? Because you're not beating me up right now for telling you how it is?

Bobby: Let me tell you how it is. Yeah, I want to turn this club into the kind of nightclub the neighbors don't complain about, and yeah, I do wanna climb the ladder just like anybody else.

Raul: Yeah, climbing over everybody.

Bobby: Hey, I didn't put stars in Brittanyís eyes. She had 'em there the day that I met her.

Raul: And you took full advantage of that.

Bobby: So why am I always the bad guy? You don't think she got anything out of this deal, too, huh?

Raul: Yeah, Bobby, she did-- a big scar on her face.

Bobby: Yeah, 'cause that's all you see. What you didn't see was the way she looked the other night after her show.

Raul: Oh, I saw.

Bobby: No, you didn't want to see that-- not depressing enough for you.

Raul: Where the hell do you get this? I want Brittany to be happy.

Bobby: Oh, yeah, right. You only want her to be happy if it has to do with you, but you don't want her to be happy about anything unless it has your seal of approval.

Raul: I have my own plan for helping Brittany get over what happened, and that's what she needs most right now.

Bobby: Well, good. Knock yourself out. In the meantime, I got a club here that needs a new image, and I got a singer with a golden voice who's dying to use it. I think we can do good things together, and nobody's using anybody here. It's a 2-way street. That's the way the world works. If you got a problem with that, I got a problem with you. Speaking of which, if you don't have any faith in this big makeover that I'm doing on the club, then it's about time I find myself a new bookkeeper.

Raul: Suits me.

Bobby: Good. Nice talking to you. You're fired.

Raul: You know, think about Brittany, would you please? Think about what she really needs.

Bobby: Yeah. Why don't you think about that, too? You may be surprised with what you come up with. Now get outta here. I got work to do.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chris: Why don't we just leave this stuff and talk first?

Daniel: I thought I ought to start packing, see if I can get an early flight tomorrow.

Chris: You know, bolting out of here isn't gonna solve anything.

Daniel: Well, what will?

Chris: Let's sit down.

Daniel: Why do you even care, anyway? I mean, it's got to be cramping your style with Dad, having a teenage kid underfoot.

Chris: I already explained to you why I care.

Daniel: Because I'm the son you never had.

Chris: Don't make me regret being straight with you.

Daniel: I'm sorry.

Chris: Did you get the feeling that I wasn't sincere? Because I was. I think you're terrific. I've enjoyed our time together. I think it would be a real shame if you left this way.

Daniel: What's the point in staying?

Chris: Because I want you to stay, and I know it would mean the world to Danny.

Daniel: It's just not a good idea.

Chris: Why not?

Daniel: Because Dad was right. Something happened.

Chris: Can you tell me about it?

Daniel: I ran into Mom at the Athletic Club.

Chris: When was this?

Daniel: A couple of days ago.

Chris: Which would explain why you've been so upset.

Daniel: It would have meant nothing to me, but it's just, she said some things.

Chris: What things?

Daniel: That I've been lied to my whole life.

Chris: Lied to about what?

Daniel: She claims that she never abandoned me. She said we were torn apart... by you.

 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Damon: What we have is special.

Phyllis: Mm-hmm, as long as I don't cross those boundaries.

Damon: Hush. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings.

Phyllis: Apparently I'm only good for one thing.

Damon: All right, you need to listen. Phyllis, I'm a private person. It doesn't mean I don't care about you, and, yes, when we make love, it is absolutely incredible, all right? But you are so much more than that to me. I have never met anyone like you, and I am incredibly grateful for you.

Phyllis: You know you can tell me anything, don't you?

Damon: Phyllis--

Phyllis: No, seriously, I want you to know that.I don't care about the skeletons in your closet. I don't care about the deep, dark secrets. I just want to know about you.

Damon: Yeah, all right, so one day we'll sit down. I will tell you my life story.

Phyllis: Why not now?

Damon: Because I'm famished. Can we get something to eat?

Phyllis: Am I making you uncomfortable?

Damon: No, no, my stomach is making me uncomfortable.

Damon: I'm not trying to be difficult. Sometimes it's just better to let the past stay in the past. Now that's all I'm gonna say. Let's just leave this alone.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sharon: Grace didn't know that Cameron resurfaced?

Nikki: So much for the love affair of the century.

Sharon: Did you tell her that he'd been off on that island with another woman?

Nikki: Of course I did. I couldn't help rubbing that in.

Sharon: And how did she react?

Nikki: Oh, she tried to play it cool, but I could tell she wasnít. I think I really shook her up.

Sharon: Well, she's got to be relieved that he isn't dead, though.

Nikki: I suppose. Who knows? It's hard to know what goes through that tramp's brain.

Sharon: I'm just glad she's off my back.

Nikki: You'll be more relieved when Cameronís off your back.

Sharon: No, not if Nicholas winds up hating me.

Nikki: Sharon, will you just stop thinking about yourself for a minute? Do you realize what this will do, if you continue to keep this secret?

Sharon: What do you mean?

Nikki: If you don't tell Nicholas the truth, he most likely will take this job with Cameron, and then Cameron will be part of your day-to-day lives even more. What then?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Grace: I gather you don't like Cameron much.

Nick: He caused a lot of trouble disappearing like he did.

Grace: Does that mean you're not gonna accept his job offer?

Nick: You know about that?

Grace: Of course. Cameron tells me everything.

Nick: Now that is funny, considering everything that has happened.

Grace: Nick, I told you, Cameronís trip to the Caribbean is no longer an issue between us.

Nick: Forgive and forget, huh?

Grace: That's what two people in love do.

Nick: Grace, let me ask you something. Why do you think this guy wants me to work for him so bad?

Grace: He thinks you're a talented businessman.

Nick: No, there's more to it than that.

Grace: What more could there be?

Nick: I don't know. It's just a feeling I'm getting.

Grace: Why are you so suspicious? It seems to me like you'd jump at his offer.

Nick: Why's that?

Grace: Your father cut you loose from Newman Enterprises, didn't he? I don't see people standing in line to hire you. And then along comes Cameron, handing you an opportunity of a lifetime. How could you even consider turning it down?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mac: Brittany needs to get over that whole entitlement thing.

J.T.: And you'd be glad to help her, right?

Mac: I promise I'll play nice.

J.T.: You know, come to think of it, we could use another little hot queen bee around the hive.

Mac: Good. Well, if that's settled, why don't you just hop on down to the street and unload the stuff from my car? I'll come with you.

J.T.: Oh, no, no, no, leave the heavy lifting up to the boys here.

Mac: (Laughs) well, I should really help.

J.T.: Yeah, you're right. You should. You know, I got a whole stack of dirty dishes over there. Why don't you take care of those for me, old buddy, old pal, friend of years?

Mac: Yeah, yeah, okay. Oh, hey, you're gonna need these.

J.T.: All right. (Door closes)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Phyllis: Okay, if you don't want to discuss this, we won't discuss this.

Damon: Thank you.

Phyllis: I want to say one more thing, okay?

Damon: All right, one more thing.

Phyllis: All right, I just want to tell you that you have been such a rock for me these last few months with everything I'm going through with jack and Daniel and Newman Enterprises. And, um, well, you've done so much for me. And I just wanted to return the favor.

Damon: I appreciate that.

Phyllis: Okay, so I promise to back off, but if you want to talk to me...

Damon: I know where to find you.

Phyllis: Right. (Chuckles) all right, what were you saying about dinner?

Damon: You feel like going out?

Phyllis: Mm-hmm. Do you?

Damon: I'm gonna go get changed, then we'll go.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chris: Phyllis told you I'm the one that took you away from her?

Daniel: Is it true?

Chris: How much has your father told you?

Daniel: I'm asking you, Christine. Is it true?

Chris: And I don't want to say something that your father isn't prepared for you to hear.

Daniel: Same old, same old.

Chris: Daniel, I am put in a really rotten position here, but I will be as honest with you as I can be. When your Father and Phyllis split up, they both wanted custody of you very badly, and Danny asked me to represent him.

Daniel: As his lawyer?

Chris: Yes.

Daniel: So Mom blames you for coming out the winner?

Chris: Pretty much.

Daniel: Being Dad's ex-wife probably didn't help.

Chris: Right.

Daniel: How come Mom lost in court?

Chris: It was a complicated set of circumstances.

Daniel: And I'm too dumb to understand?

Chris: And what did I say about the rotten position I am in?

Daniel: Well, it had to happen for a reason.

Chris: It did.

Daniel: They don't usually give Fathers custody, do they?

Chris: No, and I'll tell you this much. In my opinion, the judge made the right decision.

Daniel: Because of what? Was Mom just a really, really bad person?

Chris: She made some extremely unwise choices.

Daniel: Which is code for what exactly?

Chris: Daniel, Phyllis and only Phyllis was responsible for the outcome of that case. She may want to point the finger at someone else, but you have to trust me when I tell you that given her behavior, she got what she deserved, and so did you. Your best interests were served by having Danny raise you.

Daniel: So Mom says you're lying, and you say Mom's lying. Do I flip a coin?

Chris: I am telling you the truth. You have to believe that. I would not sit here and deliberately mislead you. I can see that you're angry, okay? And you have every right to be, but as tough as this is for you, you have to know that leaving would be running away. And that's exactly what you would be doing if you went back to school. That's not the answer. Now why don't you sleep on it, all right? Do what your father asked.

Daniel: I need some air. Do you mind? I'd like to take a little walk.

Chris: I'll be here.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nick: I can think of a few reasons not to work for your boyfriend.

Grace: Like what?

Nick: Well, his bizarre behavior, for one. What kind of C.E.O. just takes off like that without a word to anyone? What kind of leadership is that?

Grace: I'm sure he explained.

Nick: No, not to my satisfaction. And then there's also the S.E.C. Investigation.

Grace: What about it?

Nick: I am not gonna be anyone's fall guy.

Grace: Did you ask Cameron about that?

Nick: Yeah, he said it wouldn't be a problem, but I'm more worried about casting my lot with a man I don't particularly trust.

Grace: So then you're gonna turn his offer down? Is that what you're telling me?

Nick: I don't know. I haven't made a decision yet, but it is an intriguing offer.

Grace: Despite your doubts and questions?

Nick: Grace, I'm gonna give you a piece of advice, all right?

Grace: Don't do me any favors.

Nick: Be careful. Don't get too hung up on this guy.

Grace: Haven't you listened to a word I've said? I love Cameron. He loves me. We're solid.

Nick: Well, maybe that is your problem-- you trust him too much. Because as far as I can see, Cameron Kirsten is only loyal to one person, and that is himself.

Grace: That's not true.

Nick: Just watch your back, all right? Because I doubt anyone else will.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sharon: What bothers me is why Cameron wants to hire Nick in the first place. It's not as if they're friends or even longtime acquaintances. Nick doesn't even like the man.

Nikki: I know. It's very curious.

Sharon: Well, he must have an ulterior motive in wanting Nick.

Nikki: Which is probably connected to all the mind games he's been playing.

Sharon: Pretending like New Yearís Eve never happened and acting like I just imagined the whole thing.

Nikki: You know, I could have believed that myself, had I not seen the body in the sewer.

Sharon: As much as it frightens me, I think you're right.

Nikki: Honey, I know I am.

Sharon: If I don't tell Nicholas the whole truth, we will never be rid of Cameron Kirsten. And what use will I be to my family, if I'm just a basket case?

Nikki: That's right. So you'll do it? You'll tell him the whole story?

Sharon: What choice do I have? I can't take a chance on Nick taking that job and getting in even deeper with that sicko, even if it means losing the man I love.

Nikki: You're doing the right thing.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Victor: You want to play tough with me, Miss Davis?

Lorena: You are a criminal, Mr. Newman.

Sharon: Whose car is that out in the--oh, my God!

Cameron: Cheers.

Brittany: Well, who said you could move in here?

Mac: Didn't Raul talk to you?
