Nick: What are you doing here?

Cameron: Well, good morning to you, too, Nick. I hope I'm not catching you at a bad time.

Nick: For what?

Cameron: Sharon home?

Nick: Why do you ask?

Cameron: 'Cause I got something I want to talk to you about. But, uh, look, I don't want to mess up your morning.

Nick: Too late for that.

Cameron: Good.

Nick: Sharon took the kids to school and then she's gonna run some errands.

Cameron: So we're alone?

Nick: Yeah.

Cameron: Good. Good. Look, I just... I wanted to catch you before you went to work.

Nick: Well, you got plenty of time since I don't work at Newman Enterprises anymore.

Cameron: Yeah. Yeah, I, uh, I heard about that. That's the reason I'm here.

Ashley: Honey, do you want some more orange juice?

Abby: Thank you, Mommy.

Ashley: You're welcome.

Brad: Colleen called this morning from New York.

Ashley: Oh, yeah?

Brad: She wanted to let us know she's fine, and she sends her love.

John: I hope you told her how much we miss her.

Brad: You know, John, under the circumstances, I didnít.

Ashley: Well, I think she made the right decision by cutting it off with J.T.

Brad: Yeah, but it wasn't an easy one.

John: Well, many of us have decisions to make, hard ones.

Jack: Well, what have we here, a gathering of the clan?

Abby: Hi, Uncle Jack.

Jack: Hi, beautiful.

Ashley: How was your evening, Jack?

Brad: What is that about?

Ashley: Well, Jack had a hot date last night. Didn't you, Jackie?

Brad: Is that right?

Jack: Thanks, Sis.

Ashley: Sure. I think Jack has more of a little spring in his step this morning, don't you, Dad?

John: Ashley, not now.

Jack: Actually, I had a lovely, fulfilling evening, not that that's any of your business.

Ashley: That's one way to describe it.

John: Ashley...

Brad: Well, I'd be fascinated to hear the big secret. Who's the lucky lady, Romeo?

Ashley: (Chuckles) you don't want to know. Honey, are you about finished with breakfast? We gotta get you to school.

Abby: I'm ready, Mommy.

Ashley: All right. Go get your sweater. I'm gonna be a little late coming into the office today. I've got a meeting with Victor.

John: Oh, is this about what we discussed last evening?

Ashley: Um, no, it's not. See you guys later.

Neil: Yes, I'm holding for Detective Weber. He's not? Well, when will he be in? No, no message. That's okay. Thanks. Bye-bye.

Neil: You're up early.

Dru: So are you.

Neil: I got a lot goin' on today.

Dru: Mm-hmm. Including making a visit to the police station?

Neil: Dru, I'm doing the right thing.

Dru: You know, I just... I fail to recognize how letting a monster like Kevin Fisher roam the streets is doin' the right thing, Neil.

Neil: Can we please not rehash this, Dru?

Dru: Do you have any idea what you're gonna do to our daughter, do you?

Neil: Drucilla...

Dru: Do you?

Neil: Lily will be just fine.

Dru: She finally got her life back on track after living in fear for months, wondering if Kevin Fisher was gonna be around the next corner. How can you do this to her all over again?

Neil: I'm sure that one day she'll realize why I've done this.

Dru: Someday? I'm worried about now. Kevin Fisher tore her life apart. She has been living a nightmare, and now she's gonna relive it all over again, compliments of her daddy.

Neil: Shh. (Lowers voice) I refuse to defend myself, okay? I am going to talk to Detective Weber, and that is final. And I'm sorry if you can't understand why.

Dru: I will never understand why, and neither will Lily.

Neil: You know, if you just gave me a little--

Lily: No, you're wrong, Mom. Dad has to tell the police what he knows.

Lauren: (Whispers) thank you.

Lauren: Hi.

Kevin: Lauren, hi.

Lauren: I didn't mean to wake you up.

Kevin: It's okay. It's okay. (Groans) oh, all I do in this place is sleep anyway.

Lauren: How you doin'?

Kevin: A little better.

Lauren: Yeah? Well, you look a little bit better.

Kevin: Thanks. I wasn't, uh, I wasn't sure when I'd see you again.

Lauren: You're not gonna get rid of me that fast.

Kevin: Did you think about what I said last night?

Lauren: Yes.

Kevin: Will you do it?

Lauren: You want me to help you escape?

Kevin: Please don't say no. Lauren, I have to get out of here. If I don't, they're gonna lock me up again, and... I can't go back to jail. I canít.

Jill: Dad, I think that your scrambled eggs were almost better than your hot dogs.

Arthur: I'm an expert when it comes to the simple things.

Jill: I'm really surprised Mother didn't join us for breakfast, considering I was not the one cooking.

Arthur: Mm-hmm. I asked her to, but she wanted to sleep in this morning.

Jill: Meaning that she had a hangover, which is par for the course these days.

Arthur: By the way, how was your Mother's day brunch?

Jill: Oh, it was a laugh a minute.

Arthur: Uh-huh. I'm sorry I had to miss it.

Jill: Don't be. You were lucky you were out of town.

Arthur: Did Liz accompany you and Katherine?

Jill: Yes, thank God. I really needed her moral support dealing with our resident drinker.

Arthur: Katherine didn't stick to coffee and orange juice?

Jill: Oh, please. She was knocking back champagne like the winery was about to shut down.

Arthur: I'm sorry to hear that. I was hoping since it was a special occasion...

Jill: What, that she'd be on her best behavior? Fat chance. Ah, Dad, I don't know when I have ever been that embarrassed.

Jack: So what was that about?

John: What?

Jack: Ashley's cryptic mention of her little meeting with Victor.

John: I don't know why she's meeting Victor.

Jack: Oh, come on. You must have some idea.

John: Jack, as your sister said, it isn't about what I discussed with her last evening.

Jack: Well, let's talk about that. What were the two of you discussing that's such a secret?

John: Look, I just am not in the mood to argue with you this morning.

Jack: Dad, out with it. What are you keeping from me?

Brad: Could you wait until at least noon to badger your father?

John: No, it's all right, Brad. You may as well know. You're not gonna like it.

Jack: W-wait, wait, let me guess on this one. This is about accepting an offer from Victor. Am I right?

John: Yes, you're right. I told Ashley to see if she can get a $25 million settlement out of Victor.

Jack: Well, great. Hey, why don't we find a way to pay him for destroying our company? Everybody seems so eager to fall at his knees these days.

John: You know, Jack, I am willing to do that, grovel, as you like to put it, for the survival of my company. You know, and if you had not been so eager to refuse victor's first offer of $75 million, we wouldn't be sitting here talking about it, would we? No, Jabot would be on solid ground.

Neil: What did you just say?

Lily: Well, I've thought a lot about it, and you're right.

Neil: But last night, you didn't want to go to--

Lily: I know. I know. I know. But I changed my mind. The police need to know they could have the wrong person and that Kevin might be innocent.

Dru: Wait a min-- wait a minute. Kevin is hardly innocent.

Neil: Of this crime, he probably is.

Lily: Are you sure that he wasn't at the club when the cops think he was?

Neil: Yes, honey, I'm sure.

Lily: Well, then we have to do this.

Dru: Oh, that's just... oh, oh, are you happy now?

Lily: Mom, do not be mad at Dad.

Dru: It's not a matter of being mad at Daddy. If he gives the police that report, don't you realize that Kevin Fisher's gonna be a free man?

Neil: Not necessarily. They have to verify the information, they have to talk to the investigator, they have to question the bartender who saw Kevin at the club that day. They can't release him immediately.

Dru: Eventually, they will.

Neil: Maybe the police have some other evidence that we don't know about.

Dru: Maybe I don't want to take that chance.

Neil: Honey, thank you. Thank you so much. I can't tell you how proud I am of you right now.

Lily: I still wish that you hadn't seen that stupid report.

Neil: Well, if it makes you feel any better, me too, but since I have, it wouldn't be right keeping the information to myself.

Lily: When are you going to the police station?

Neil: Soon as I leave here.

Lily: Would it help if I came with you?

Neil: I appreciate the offer, but I don't want you to worry about that, okay? I want you to go to school, just forget this whole thing happened, okay? Put it out of your mind now.

Dru: Oh, yeah, yeah. Put it outta your mind, honey. Just forget it ever happened.

Neil: Dru, that's enough.

Dru: No, it's not enough.

Neil: Would you please stop?

Dru: Just because you feel compelled to go to the police doesn't mean that I'm happy about it.

Lily: Mom, I will be okay.

Dru: Will you, honey? Will you? What's Kevin gonna be like when he gets outta prison, huh? Is he gonna be more dangerous? Is he going to be more violent? Have either of you even considered that?

Lauren: I don't think you realize how hard it would be for you to sneak out of the hospital.

Kevin: Well, that's why I need your help.

Lauren: Kevin...

Kevin: You have to do this for me, Lauren. You're my only hope.

Lauren: You know, that man on the other side of the door is not for show. He's a police officer, and he has a gun, and he will not be afraid to use it.

Kevin: I told you. I don't care if he shoots me.

Lauren: You don't mean that!

Kevin: I do mean it. I'd rather die than be locked up again.

Lauren: Look, I know you're scared, but I cannot help you escape.

Kevin: Oh, God. Oh, God, oh, God, oh, God!

Lauren: It's going to be okay.

Kevin: No, no, no, it isn't gonna be okay! They're gonna throw me back in jail, back with those animals in the cell, and they're going to take turns beating me up.

Lauren: That is never going to happen again!

Kevin: I wonít. I'm not gonna go, you hear me? I will kill myself before I go back to jail.

Lauren: You stop it! You stop talking like that!

Kevin: What do you want? What do you want me to say, huh?

Lauren: I want you to calm down, and I want you to listen to me.

Kevin: No, if you're gonna tell me that I need to try and stay positive, then just--

Lauren: That is not what I'm gonna say.

Kevin: Then what?

Lauren: I think there may be a way for you to stay out of jail.

Nick: You know about what, Cameron?

Cameron: Your situation at Newman Enterprises.

Nick: Really? You've been on some island with a chick, and you come back to town and know about the internal business affairs of my company?

Cameron: Pretty much, yeah. What part of that do you have a hard time believing?

Nick: I think it's all a scam.

Cameron: Oh, you do? Let me tell you something, nick. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that you and your father weren't exactly seeing eye to eye. I could have told you that during our negotiations. I mean, come on, you turned the guy in to the feds!

Nick: What is your point, Cameron?

Cameron: Your life's an open book. All I had to do was a little digging and...

Nick: Oh, you've been checking up on me?

Cameron: Trust me, I make it a point of knowing what's going on in the lives of people I do business with.

Cameron: And that's why you're here? You want to do business with me, despite my demise at Newman Enterprises.

Cameron: Yeah. I think your father made a mistake, Nick. It's a mistake I'd like to take advantage of.

Jack: So we're back to blaming Jack, huh?

John: I don't want to do that, son.

Jack: Could have fooled me.

John: Nor am I willing to cling to foolish pride while my company slips through our fingers.

Jack: I will say it again. You are overreacting.

Brad: Then you're wearing blinders.

John: Jack, Ashley estimates and my own research agrees that we can keep Jabot afloat for approximately six months without a major infusion of capital.

Brad: And where's that money gonna come from, if not Victor?

Jack: You know, I am just surprised as can be to see you jumping on the newman bandwagon.

Brad: Yeah, well, it's not where I want to be; Jack, but I don't see much of an alternative.

John: Desperate times for entire desperate measures.

Jack: Things are not that desperate. We have to tighten our belt.

Brad: We're already tightening our belts.

Jack: Then we have to tighten it a little bit more.

John: Jack, we've cut our expenditures to the bone. We've cancelled any future expansion projects. We've backed away from any new orders on Tuvia, and I'm examining cutbacks.

Brad: I don't see how we can do that without hurting our stronger lines.

Jack: You know what? You two and my sister want to drown in your own pessimism; I guess I can't fight it. Besides, it'll give the devil himself a chance to be the hero here.

Ashley: Thank you so much for coming.

Victor: You said it was important.

Ashley: Yes, it is.

Victor: All right. What is it you want to talk about?

Ashley: Well, I know you saw brad last night, Victor.

Victor: I was hoping to see Abby. He said that you had taken her somewhere.

Ashley: Yeah, I took her for a swim at my fatherís. Brad told me that you are determined to see her.

Victor: I'd like to get to know her.

Ashley: I understand that. I want you to know that I'm not trying to keep her from you.

Victor: I think your husband is.

Ashley: Well, surely you can understand how he feels.

Victor: Let me make something very clear. I intend to have a relationship with my daughter.

Arthur: Katherine really behaved that badly?

Jill: Oh, God, it was horrible, Dad. She was belligerent. She was loud. She was obnoxious. She was just a classic drunk.

Arthur: That couldn't have been pleasant for you.

Jill: No. I could hear people whispering and they were staring and I could feel their pity.

Arthur: I'm sorry you had to go through that, Jill.

Jill: Yeah, well, when I finally realized, and then it was obvious that she was totally bombed, I tried to get her to leave, but she fought me, and then this priest came over. Can you believe it? He was the one who persuaded her that she had to go home.

Arthur: I know you can't force a person to stop drinking. They have to decide to do that on their own. I just hope...

Jill: What?

Arthur: I hope she makes the decision soon. Given her history of stroke, each drink Katherine takes is only shortening her life. And in the meantime, being surrounded by people who care for her can only help.

Jill: You know, Dad, I'm sure you're right about that, but sometimes she just makes it so difficult.

Arthur: Your mother's not the only one I'm concerned about, Jill. I'm worried about you, too. What this constant tension is doing to your life.

Neil: Lily, why don't you give your mother and me some time alone, all right?

Lily: Mom, listen to me. Of all people, I know how you feel. You're wanting to make Kevin pay so badly that it's all that you can even think about. That's how it was for me.

Dru: Honey, why do we have to talk--

Lily: No, I was in love with him. I mean, from the moment that I first saw Kevin, it was like magic. And then I spent time with him, and it got even better. He was smart and funny and interested in me. And I'd never had a boyfriend before.

Dru: I know.

Lily: And all of a sudden, I was with this gorgeous, perfect guy who just showered me with attention.

Dru: Honey, it was just a ploy to lure you in.

Lily: Yeah, but see, I know that now. I know that now, but at the time it felt so real. Kevin made me feel so special.

Dru: Honey--

Lily: Like I was the kind of girl that a guy would want to be with.

Dru: Sweetheart, you have a thousand amazing qualities.

Lily: Yeah, that's what I tell myself on those days when I don't even want to get out of bed, because all I can think about is Kevin and what he did to me. I mean, he hurt me so much, you know, and I thought that he loved me. But he was only after one thing, and I was stupid enough to give it to him.

Dru: Honey, why do we have talk about all this right now?

Lily: Because if anyone should be upset with that, it's me. I am the one that Kevin took advantage of. I am the one that he lied to and manipulated so that he could feel more like a man. And it would be so easy for Dad to just look the other way and pretend that he never saw that report, but that would be wrong. And that's something that Kevin would do, and I want to be better than him. I mean, don't you?

Kevin: What are you talking about?

Lauren: Before I say anything to you, I need you to promise me--

Kevin: No, no, Lauren, no! No more promises, please. Please, just be my friend and just tell me what I need to do to keep from being put in jail.

Lauren: The police will not put you back in jail if they think you're unfit.

Kevin: Unfit how?

Lauren: If they think it's harmful to your health.

Kevin: It is harmful. How do you think I wound up here in the first place?

Lauren: No, no, no, I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about mentally.

Kevin: I don't follow.

Lauren: The doctors have tests, psychological tests.

Kevin: You mean to find out whether or not I'm crazy?

Lauren: Yes, exactly.

Kevin: So what are you telling me? You're saying that if I make the doctors think I'm nuts, they won't put me back in jail? Is that what you're saying?

Lauren: I'm saying that it's an option.

Kevin: That's it. That is what you're saying. Oh, my God, that's brilliant! That's brilliant. Why didn't I think of that? Okay, okay, how am I gonna pull this off?

Lauren: I've said too much already.

Kevin: Its okay, it's okay. I can figure out the rest on my own.

Lauren: You realize that there are no guarantees?

Kevin: Yeah, I understand. It's worth a shot, isn't it?

Lauren: I hope you're not planning anything crazy.

Kevin: Where will I go?

Lauren: What do you mean?

Kevin: Well, if I don't go back to the lockup, where do they put me?

Lauren: I don't know. They put you in the psych ward. You're still incarcerated.

Kevin: Yeah, well, it's better than jail.

Lauren: Well, for now, but I don't know about after the trial.

Kevin: I'll worry about that later. Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you so much. This means so much.

Lauren: All right, I gotta get going, okay? Good-bye.

Kevin: Bye. (Knock on door)

Lauren: Don't do anything stupid!

Lauren: Thanks.

Nick: So you think my old man made a mistake?

Cameron: Yeah, I do. I found you to be a very savvy businessman during our negotiations. Listen, Nick, forget about what happened at Newman. You are a valuable asset to any company.

Nick: You really feel that way?

Cameron: Yeah. You know what? Just hear me out. I think it'll become pretty obvious how I feel.

John: Jack, I know how upsetting this is for you.

Jack: You know what, Dad? Forget it. I wash my hands of the whole thing.

Brad: Well, that's the smartest thing you've said in months.

Jack: Shut up, Brad. You're not coming at this from the same perspective.

Brad: Oh, you don't think I hate the man as much as you do? I say let's get what we can and get him out of our lives!

John: Gentlemen, gentlemen. Come on, now let's try to keep this from becoming personal.

Jack: You know, you're right. Let's forget what this man has cost our family in pride and dignity and the life of a child.

Brad: Damn it, Jack, do not bring that into this!

Jack: Why not? It's the truth. Let's at least be honest with each other.

John: Jack, there are things you can change and the things you canít. And one thing we can do is change the future of Jabot, and that is what we should be looking at.

Jack: Okay, I hear you. We're gonna accept pennies on the dollar and hope we can pull Jabot through. Good luck.

John: Son, don't let me say it again how much that I wish that I had the $75 million.

Jack: If you're trying to make me feel guilty, donít. It's not gonna work. I wanted nothing to do with Victor getting a slap on the wrist rather than time in jail. I still say he should be behind bars.

Brad: Yeah, well, we know what you say, Jack, but that option has passed us by, and dwelling on it isn't going to save Jabot, is it?

Jack: I take it then we're all agreed that porter has to go. I mean, there's a very expensive contract we can ill afford at this point.

John: Well, that is a possibility we'll have to review.

Brad: You know Ash is opposed.

John: Yes, I do.

Jack: Well, hey, if we're tightening our belts, it seems the perfect place to start. Why do we need a top research chemist if we can't afford any research?

John: Jack, Jack, I said I will look at it carefully. We must also think of the long term.

Jack: Well, according to you masters of gloom, there is no long term to look at. We have only the short term.

Brad: Is that really what you're thinking about, Jack? Or is this still about Phyllis?

Jack: You leave Phyllis out of this.

Brad: I don't see how we can do that, if that's really where you're coming from.

John: All right, that is enough. Now just sit down, so we can talk about this. Sit down!

John: Now we're going to have to review every contract. We're going to have to determine who is essential for Jabot's future and who is not. It's just quite simple. There are going to be brutal cuts.

Jack: You gonna ax Tuvia?

John: I think we have to look at that possibility.

Jack: Oh, God, it call comes back to Newman. This is why he broke the law. He's getting exactly what he wanted!

John: Jack, be that as it may, we cannot change what happened. We can only react to it, and we have got to find a way to get Jabot back on its feet.

Jack: Right, right. So when are we gonna schedule this meeting for Ashley and Victor? Or more important, what is Ashley meeting with Victor about today?

Ashley: I know how important it is for you to get to know Abby.

Victor: So you're not going to try and stop me?

Ashley: Oh, I wish things weren't so complicated.

Victor: Well, I'm hardly the one to blame for the complication, am I?

Ashley: Of course not. It was my doing. Victor, I don't see you the way the rest of my family does. You know that.

Victor: Thank the lord for that.

Ashley: Which is why I feel I can ask you what I'm going to ask you, and I think you'll listen to me.

Victor: What are you gonna ask me?

Ashley: For some time.

Victor: Time?

Ashley: Before you begin this journey to know my child.

Victor: But she's my child, as well, and I have missed out on so much of her life already.

Ashley: I understand that, but you have to realize that this is a very precarious situation for that little girl.

Victor: Now you know me better than to think that I would hurt that child.

Ashley: I know you wouldn't, never, not intentionally.

Victor: So what are you asking?

Ashley: Well, we all know that children carry scars from their childhood that could affect them for the rest of their lives.

Victor: You think I would scar her?

Ashley: Well, not on purpose. But, look, I'm out of my depth here. I don't know the best way to handle this situation.

Victor: I think the best way to handle it is just to be honest. I told your husband that I have no intention of letting Abby know the sordid details of her conception, but I want her to know that I'm her father, that I acknowledge that.

Ashley: That's all you want?

Victor: That's all I want. I know your husband thinks otherwise.

Ashley: Well, Victoriaís gone. Your relationship with Nicholas isn't very good.

Victor: You believe that I want to fill that void by absconding with your child?

Ashley: Brad's afraid of that.

Victor: What are you asking of me?

Ashley: Before we begin anything with Abby, I'd like to seek professional help.

Victor: By that, do you mean a psychiatrist or what?

Ashley: A psychiatrist, a psychologist. I want an objective, professional opinion on how best to handle this. Now won't you please do that for me, for Abby?

Jill: Dad, don't you worry about me. I am doing just fine.

Arthur: And are you? Seems to me you're spending so much time focusing on your mother's drinking problem that you're neglecting your own happiness.

Jill: I work every day. I love my job.

Arthur: Mm-hmm, you know what they say about all work and no play, don't you?

Jill: I find time to play.

Arthur: When? If you're not arguing with Katherine, you're acting as her nursemaid, stressing over the situation. I never see you have fun.

Jill: I have fun with you.

Arthur: I'm talking about people your own age.

Jill: Believe it or not, I do have a social life. As a matter of fact, just recently I spent some time with a man.

Arthur: Good. Anyone I know?

Jill: It's not important, and it's not going anywhere. We're just really old friends, and we're at a point in our lives when we're at loose ends, so we have no serious intentions. It's just... we're perfect for each other right now.

Arthur: I hope that doesn't mean you're giving up on love. I mean, look at me, finding your mother after all these years. It just goes to show you, one's never too old for romance.

Jill: I'm sure you're right about that, okay? But right now I'm perfectly happy just focusing on my newfound family.

Arthur: In our case, I think we're doing a splendid job, don't you?

Jill: Yes, I do, absolutely, in our case.

Arthur: Mm-hmm.

Jill: Of course, Katherine is a different story. I mean, take the brunch. Every time I think that maybe we're getting a little bit closer, something goes wrong. I'm telling you, the only good news is things couldn't get much worse.

Mac: Good morning, Judge Hendricks, Jill. It's a beautiful day out, isn't it?

Neil: Lily leave for school?

Dru: Yeah.

Neil: Thinking about what she said?

Dru: I may owe you an apology.

Neil: No, baby, you don't have to apologize.

Dru: I do. You know, as much as I want the police to nail Kevin Fisher, in my soul I can't see him going to jail for another person's crime.

Neil: You know that we're going to get him one day, right?

Dru: I hope so.

Neil: Mark my words. Kevin may dodge a bullet this time, but one of these days that man's number is gonna be up. I just hope I'm there to see it.

[Kevin remembering.]

Big dog: Whatcha gonna do, Fisher?

Kevin: I'll call someone.

Ray: Who? Your mama, maybe?

Man: Or the guard.

Big dog: Last I saw, the guard was heading out for a smoke.

Kevin: I'm warning you, my brother's a lawyer.

Big dog: So what?

Kevin: He can make some real trouble for you guys.

Big dog: (Laughs) you hear that, ray? Kevin's brother's gonna make some trouble for us.

Ray: This kid don't know what real trouble is.

Man: Maybe we ought to show him, huh?

Big dog: Good idea.

Kevin: What are you gonna do?

Man: Relax, Fisher.

Big dog: We're gonna have us a little blanket party.

Cop: Yeah, tell me about it. Unbelievable.

Orderly: I need to change your bedding. Need some help?

Orderly: There you go. You okay?

Kevin: Yeah.

Cop: Anyway, let me finish what I was telling you.

Orderly: Yeah.

Cop: I told her, "look, I'm not interested in anything serious."

Orderly: So what did she say?

Cop: What did she say? She starts crying, tells me she's not getting any younger. Says I've been leading her on all these months.

Orderly: Oh, man, that's crazy.

Cop: I'm telling you, man, I will never, ever, understand women.

Orderly: No, no, definitely.

Cop: Never. Can't live with 'em. You can't live without 'em.

Nick: All right, I'm listening.

Cameron: You're listening? Are you sure? 'Cause you know what? I don't want to waste my time talking to someone who's not gonna believe what I have to say. Well, not that I would blame you.

Nick: You'd better not. There's a lot of people around here upset with you, including me. You have any idea what this did to my wife?

Cameron: Sharon?

Nick: Yeah, Sharon. She's a very sensitive woman. When you took off like that, some people thought you were dead. And since my wife was one of the last people to see you alive, it really did a number on her.

Cameron: Well, I'm sorry about that, Nick.

Nick: You should be. My wife is still suffering from it. Do you even know there was a police sketch going around? Some people thought it looked like my wife. They were accusing her of murder.

Cameron: What? Look, I heard about a sketch when I talked to the police, but murder? I mean, I had no idea.

Nick: And then Grace Turner, of all people, shows up in town saying she's involved with you.

Cameron: Yeah, yeah, well, we... Grace and I, we had a little fling, you know. Look, what are we talking about this for, huh? I came here to talk about business. Can we talk about business? I'd like to offer you a job, Nick.

Jack: So what's going on, Junior? Why are Ashley and Victor in secret session today?

Brad: This doesn't concern you, Jack.

Jack: It's about my sister. If it concerns her, it concerns me.

Brad: Not this time.

John: All right, that's enough. Will you two cut it out?

Jack: You know what this is about, Dad?

John: No, I don't, and I'm willing to accept it's none of my business.

Brad: Thank you, John.

Jack: I hate it. Ashley in cahoots with that bastard on something personal.

John: Jack, will you please just drop it? Obviously Brad does not want to talk about it. Why you can't you respect that?

Jack: Well, I know a thing or two that you donít.

Brad: Drop it, Jack.

Jack: Oh, then I'm on target, am I? Ashley's meeting with Victor today--

Brad: I said, drop it, Jack!

John: Now wait a minute. What the hell is going on here?

Jack: Well, there's a couple things you don't know, Dad.

Brad: One more word, one, and I will bust you in the mouth.

Jack: Have a nice day. You, too.

John: Bradley, what in heaven's name was that all about?

Brad: Forget it, John. This is one you want no part of.

Victor: So you want to seek professional help?

Ashley: Yeah. I'd like to get a specialist's point of view on how Abby ought to be told and just what the best way is to handle this. That's not really an unreasonable request, is it?

Victor: No, but don't forget that Abby already knows. She's the one who told me that I'm her father.

Ashley: Of course. It's a big part of the situation. I'm not gonna hold anything back.

Victor: When do you envision doing this?

Ashley: As soon as possible.

Victor: And this is not some delaying tactic that you and Brad came up with?

Ashley: Of course not. I think it's a very critical part of the process, actually.

Victor: Are you gonna take Abby?

Ashley: I don't know. It depends on what the doctor recommends.

Victor: So how long is it gonna take? Weeks, months, years or what?

Ashley: I have no idea. Again, I really don't know what the doctor's gonna recommend. But whatever I do, I'm just trying to protect my child.

Victor: From her biological father. Is that what you're saying?

Ashley: Well, to her, she already has a father. I don't want to create something in her mind that is destructive or confusing to her.

Victor: And you think if I got to know her more that might be destructive and confusing to her. Is that it?

Ashley: Only if it's mishandled, Victor. We're talking about a child's mind, her psyche, her emotional stability. Please, don't fight me on this, please.

Victor: I won't fight you. But I'm not gonna wait forever, either. I want to get to know my daughter, so don't use this as a way to keep me from her, please, because I won't allow it. Do we understand each other?

Ashley: We understand each other perfectly.

Victor: Okay.

Ashley: Well...

Victor: Um, then I'll wait to hear from you, and, um, wait to tell me how you intend to proceed.

Ashley: Okay.

Kevin: Thanks.

Orderly: Oh, no problem, bro. Hey, hey, hey!

Cop: Hey, back off!

Orderly: You okay? You okay?

Kevin: Yeah.

Orderly: I got him. I'll take care of him.

Kevin: I just need to sit down.

Orderly: Yeah, sure, I got you, I got you. You gonna be okay?

Kevin: Yeah, yeah.

Orderly: All right.

Kevin: Thanks.

Orderly: All right. Thanks.

Kevin: Oh, thank God.

Kevin: Bingo.
