Sharon: You do know that, Nick.

Nick: Yeah, I do. We're good together. And nothing is ever gonna tear us apart like that again.

Sharon: No, nothing... ever.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Damon: You let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Phyllis: Just having your support means a lot. Thank you. You know, I just need some details.

Damon: What sort of details?

Phyllis: Well, what does he like to do? What is he passionate about? What kind of movies does he like? You know, something.

Damon: How could you know?

Phyllis: I know. I don't have a clue.

Damon: What about his father? Couldn't he be of some help?

Phyllis: Well, his father. Yeah, yeah, sure. He talks a good game, but...

Damon: Oh, well, now that sounds real--

Phyllis: What? Cynical? Bitter? Let me tell you something. It comes from hard experience...

Phyllis: Especially if we're talking about some mealy-mouthed, vindictive blonde saint who's in the picture.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Danny: Friends like Chris, they're few and far between, son. And the older you get, the more you realize that.

Daniel: Cool. Thanks for letting me stay here. I'll try to stay out of your way.

Chris: Don't worry about it. I want you to feel at home.

Daniel: Thank you.

Danny: So... house rules?

Chris: Um... yeah, no drinking out of the milk carton.

Danny: Okay. What, is that it?

Chris: We'll make up the rest as we go along, won't we, Daniel?

Daniel: Sounds good.

Danny: You must be starved. What do you say we go out and grab a bite to eat and, you know, check out the town?

Daniel: Actually, dad, would you mind? I'd kind of like to go by myself.

Danny: You just got here.

Daniel: Yeah, and here I am ditching you already. Darn lousy kid.

Danny: Yeah, I’d's say.

Daniel: I just need a little downtime after the trip. We can catch up later, okay?

Danny: Okay.

Daniel: So... what's close by?

Chris: When you leave the apartment building, go right. The university is a few blocks south. When you get to Hyde Park, there is a coffeehouse there called Crimson Lights. A lot of the kids like to hang out. I think you'll enjoy it.

Daniel: Cool. Thanks.

Danny: This tide you over?

Daniel: Sure.

Danny: Got your cell phone?

Daniel: Right here.

Danny: And I gave you all our various numbers.

Daniel: We're covered. See you later.

Danny: What time?

Daniel: Week from tomorrow. Kidding.

Danny: You'd better be.

Chris: Have fun. He's kidding.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ashley: Brad came home in a really weird mood last night, too. He and Victor must have had a confrontation.

Nikki: I don't like the sound of this.

Ashley: Me either. Did Victor give you any clues to what was bugging him?

Nikki: No, I told you I begged him to talk to me, but he wouldn’t. He made some comment about lies and deception and he stormed off.

Ashley: I want to talk to my husband.

Nikki: All right, look, I'm involved in this, too. If you talk to Brad, I'm gonna be there.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brad: Ash chose to keep this a secret from you because she believed it was the best thing.

Victor: I should've known.

Brad: Why? You got back together with Nikki. The two of you married. You have a full life, Victor. Now you want to complicate that with a child?

Victor: The circumstances of the birth are not the child's fault, nor are they mine.

Brad: What does that mean?

Victor: That means that I'm her father. Biologically speaking, I have certain responsibilities.

Brad: What the hell are you talking out?

Victor: I trust you kept our agreement. Ashley must not know that I'm aware of the situation. That goes for Nikki as well.

Brad: Why don't you want them to know?

Victor: I have my reasons.

Brad: What are you plotting?

Victor: I'm not plotting a damn thing. I'm trying to figure this out.

Brad: What are you going to do, Victor?

Victor: I don't know yet, but I'll let you know when I've made up my mind. Meanwhile, I hope you abide by our agreement. Ashley is not to know.

Brad: For the moment, but only for the moment.

Victor: It was you, it was Ashley, it was Nikki who put me in this situation. I had nothing to do with it, all right? Now if you don't mind, I'd like to be left alone. (Cell phone rings) (ring)

Brad: Yeah.

Ashley: Brad, it's me. Would you please come home? I really need to talk to you.

Brad: I'll be right there.

Victor: You remember what I said.

Brad: Don't threaten me, Newman.

Victor: You take that any way you want.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chris: So I opted for chamomile tea instead of coffee, because I thought our nerves were frazzled enough.

Danny: Good point.

Chris: I think it went pretty well, don't you?

Danny: Yeah, definitely. Though I wasn't too sure when I picked him up at the airport.

Chris: Daniel was a little surprised about the living arrangements.

Danny: You could say that.

Chris: Well, he doesn't know me from Adam. I can't blame him for wondering what the deal is.

Danny: Especially since... look, I hope you don't mind that I didn't tell him that...

Chris: That what, we're together again? No, I'm glad.

Danny: Really?

Chris: Yeah. He has a lot to adjust to. And since he's not gonna be here for very long...

Danny: You know something? You are gonna make a terrific mother some day.

Chris: I like kids. I really liked Daniel.

Danny: He's quite a charmer, isn't he?

Chris: Oh, why wouldn't he be? Look at his daddy.

Danny: I did my best. I'll tell you, it's not easy flying solo.

Chris: Which reminds me...

Danny: Oh, did I do it again?

Chris: Bring up Phyllis?

Danny: I did, didn't I?

Chris: Okay, how are you gonna handle this? She is desperate to see him, and we both know how she feels about him staying here.

Danny: I promised her that I would talk to him, and I will. I think it's important that he sees her while he's here in town.

Chris: And that's gonna hold her for what, a minute and a half?

Danny: What am I supposed to do, Chris? I'm in the middle of a minefield here.

Chris: I'm sorry, okay? I know it's a tricky situation.

Danny: Hey, do you think maybe you could help, I mean, at least with Daniel?

Chris: That's kind of a tall order. I don't have any influence over him.

Danny: You will, very soon, I'm sure.

Chris: Which is exactly what we don't have--time-- unless, of course, Phyllis is willing to be patient, and I think we both know the odds on that. But for you, yes, I will do my best where Daniel is concerned.

Danny: Thank you.

Chris: I know how strongly you feel about your son and his mother coming to some sort of understanding.

Danny: It's been years and I just, uh... I mean, I know it's gonna be painful, especially for Daniel, but they're part of each other, Chris. And I think it's important that he sees her. I truly believe that.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Damon: Your son is staying with the woman who persuaded the court to give custody to the father?

Phyllis: Yeah, what's wrong with that picture, right? I hate this woman. I hate her. I hate her.

Damon: Easy.

Phyllis: No, this is easy, believe me. If I were 5 feet from this woman, I'd really lose it.

Damon: Oh, I can imagine. (Chuckles)

Phyllis: She's with Danny again. They're seeing each other. They're sleeping together. So, I mean, you can imagine the picture she's gonna paint for my son. I mean, she convinced a family court judge that I was the devil incarnate. Now an impressionable teenager, I mean, that's gonna be a piece of cake.

Damon: And you reckon the father would allow that.

Phyllis: I don't know. Danny said that he would try to convince Daniel to change his mind. I don't know.

Damon: All right, hold on to that.

Phyllis: Can we leave now? Can we just go and lose ourselves? And maybe I can relax and breathe. Can we do that?

Damon: I do wish we could, I most truly do.

Phyllis: Oh, know, but you have to work, don't you? You have to work. I can't convince you to just take me in your arms and make love to me until I can't see straight?

Damon: You remember what I taught you about visualization?

Phyllis: Yeah. So I'm gonna... you're just gonna leave me with that picture?

Damon: Mm-hmm.

Damon: You try to be patient. Your son just got here. Give Danny a chance to make good on his word.

Phyllis: One day at a time, right?

Damon: You can call me if you need me.

Phyllis: Be patient. You'd like that, wouldn't you, Christine?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Sharon remembering…..]

Grace: You seem surprised to see me.

Sharon: I am.

Grace: What the hell's with you?! You're freaking out about something.

Sharon: Why don't you get out of my face?

Grace: What have you been doing?

Sharon: None of your business.

Grace: What about Nick? Is it any of his business? I wonder what he'd say if I happened to mention I ran into you out here.

Sharon: You stay the hell away from my husband, grace. You hear me? Damn it, you stay the hell away!

Grace: I'm in town for one reason--to help find Cameron.

Sharon: Yeah. Well, if I were involved with you, Grace, I think I might disappear, too.

Grace: I'd forgotten what a bitch you can be.

Sharon: If you don't get out of my way and let me get into my car--

Grace: You're making threats now to me?! You really think that's wise?

Sharon: Meaning what?

Grace: You know, I think I still have Nicholas' cell phone number in here.

Sharon: Get outta my way!

Grace: You look like hell! You're acting like a crazy person! You won't tell me what your deal is, what you're doing miles away from your cozy little lifestyle!

Sharon: Fine, fine, you want to know what I'm doing here? You wanna know? Come here, I will show you. I'll show you what I'm doing, Grace. Take a look for yourself!

Sharon: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, no, I don't believe this! I don't believe this! Oh, my God!

Grace: Can't believe what? What? Are you insane?! I always knew you had problems, Sharon, but...

Sharon: I have to get out of here. I have to go.

Grace: Sharon, no, wait! No, Sharon, wait! Sharon!

[Sharon back to present.]

(Knock on door)

Sharon: Oh, Larry, thank you for coming.

Larry: Yeah, what can I do for ya?

Sharon: It was so incredible the way that you helped me before.

Larry: Hey, it's no big deal.

Sharon: Are you kidding? How many people would see that I had a dead body in the trunk of my car and then give me the benefit of the doubt that I had some good explanation, and then take care of it for me without even asking?

Larry: Well, I guess it was kind of incredible, huh?

Sharon: Yes, it was.

Larry: But you had a good explanation, Sharon. The guy tried to rape you, and he paid the price, okay? That's all over now, and I'm sure not telling anyone about it. And you're not either, right?

Sharon: No, of course not.

Larry: Well, then do you mind tellin' me what this big emergency is?

Sharon: It's not quite all over with, Larry. I need another favor-- a big one.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brad: Got here as soon as I could. You sounded upset.

Ashley: I'm really, really worried.

Brad: Well, join the club.

Ashley: What does that mean?

Brad: There's just a lot to be worried about right now, Ash.

Nikki: Yeah, you can say that again.

Brad: Nikki, what are you doing here?

Nikki: You have no idea?

Brad: No.

Ashley: Where were you last night, Brad?

Brad: Why?

Ashley: Just answer me.

Nikki: Were you at the gym at the athletic club?

Brad: Yeah, I was. But you knew that.

Nikki: Did you see Victor?

Brad: Why?

Nikki: Because we need to know.

Brad: Yeah, I saw him.

Ashley: We know something happened between you and Victor, and we want to know what it was.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Larry: Look, you haven't heard from the cops again, have you?

Sharon: I wish it were that simple.

Larry: Listen, nothing's simple when it's got to do with the cops. Take it from me, you don't want them finding out what happened.

Sharon: No, of course not. Listen, Larry, when you took that body, what did you do with it?

Larry: Now why do you want to go there, Sharon? What I did, did the job.

Sharon: But you put it somewhere, right?

Larry: Obviously, I put it somewhere. I didn't chop it up or nothin'. But, Sharon, this is not some stuff that you wanna know about.

Sharon: Yes, it is, Larry.

Larry: Okay, if you think you want the details, but you know, I just don't get it.

Sharon: I want more than just the details.

Larry: Okay, now you're really losin' me.

Sharon: I want you to take me to him.

Larry: What?

Sharon: To the body, Cameron Kirsten’s body.

Larry: Oh, come on, girl. You don't mean that.

Sharon: Yes, yes, I do. I need to see that body with my own eyes. If I don't, I'm afraid I'm gonna lose my mind.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chris: So it is your call with Daniel and Phyllis. I'll do whatever I can to be supportive. (Cell phone rings)

Danny: Excuse me. (Ring)

Danny: Here it comes. Hello, Phyllis.

Phyllis: Hi, Danny. Is he there yet?

Danny: Yes.

Phyllis: Oh, my gosh.

Danny: Look, you're gonna have to give us some time.

Phyllis: Who's us? Who's that, you and Christine? Believe me, if she had it her way, I'd never get to see my son.

Danny: That's not true.

Phyllis: Give me a break.

Danny: Phyllis, listen to me a second. We're gonna help him get settled in, adjust, and then I'll talk to him. I'm not gonna start in on the kid's first day.

Phyllis: Okay. All right, that's fine. I listened to you. Now you listen to me. I'm going to see my son, not "we'll see," not "maybe."

Danny: Phyllis.

Phyllis: Because it's hard enough him living thousands of miles away, but for him to be in the same town and still not be able to see him.

Danny: Look, I know its torture for you, but you're gonna have to be patient.

Phyllis: I don't want to be patient!

Danny: Hey, do I need to remind you that he almost cancelled this trip the last time I tried to insist on a meeting?

Phyllis: No.

Danny: We can't force this. We have to take things slowly. I know it's frustrating for you, but that's just the way it has to be. You still there?

Phyllis: So, um... if I'm distilling this information correctly, you just plan to torture me carefully and slowly, right?

Danny: All right, look, you hang in there. We'll be in touch.

Phyllis: No, you hang in there, Danny and Christine-- with a rope tied around your necks.

Phyllis: Oh, yuck. It's cold.
