Sharon: Oh, what does he want? He couldn't know I have a body in the trunk. Oh, my God, unless he saw me.

Cop: License and registration, please.

Sharon: Is there a problem, officer?

Cop: Stay in the car, please, ma'am.

Olivia: Did Brittany’s parents leave?

Raul: Yeah, they wanted to go home and change. Plus, I think Mrs. Hodges was gonna bring Brittany some food later.

Olivia: Okay. Well, I advised my patient to rest. Apparently, she wants to have more company. I told her she could, one at a time.

Raul: You go first.

Bobby: Thanks.

Olivia: Follow me.

Raul: What the hell are you doing here?

Angelo: Hodges around?

Raul: No.

Angelo: Bobby?

Raul: He's in with Brittany. What, you want to see him? Something about the club?

Angelo: No, and yes. I came to talk to you. I knew you'd be here. So how is she?

Raul: She's alive, no thanks to you.

Angelo: Look, you know I didn't zap your girlfriend, right? Listen, I done some bad stuff in my life, but I would never... I just wouldn’t. Not a female.

Raul: Yeah? What about your buddy Sal?

Angelo: Nah, it's not his style either.

Raul: You know what? I don't care who did it. That's not what's important right now.

Angelo: Look, I'll tell ya what's important, kid. You gotta get through to Bobby. I mean, somebody's got to, because he's headed for a train wreck, you know what I mean?

Bobby: It's okay to come in?

Brittany: Bobby. Yeah. Only don't look at me.

Bobby: Oh.

(Telephone rings) (ring)

Danny: Hello.

Chris: Ooh, good, you're still there.

Danny: Where are you?

Chris: At the Jabot boutique, doing a little last-minute shopping before I head home.

Danny: Yeah? Special occasion?

Chris: You'll see. You're not planning on leaving, are you?

Danny: Well, not if you don't want me to go.

Chris: No, nonono, you stay there. I have a little surprise for you.

Danny: Yeah? You gonna model some new lingerie for me?

Chris: Just don't leave. I'll see you soon.

(Doorbell rings)

Brad: Thank you for coming, Victor.

Victor: May I come in?

Brad: Of course.

Victor: All right.

Victor: How is Ashley doing? Any news about her recovery?

Brad: There has certainly been improvement. Quite remarkable, really.

Victor: Well, that's wonderful. Any way I can see her?

Brad: Actually, my wife isn't here.

Victor: What do you mean, she isn't here?

Brad: She wanted to go out. Said there was something she had to do.

Victor: Really?

Brad: She snapped out of it this afternoon, just after you left. She's more or less her old self again.

Victor: Well, that's wonderful news. That's what we had hoped for.

Brad: It's what I wanted for her.

Victor: Then why do you seem so grim?

Victor: Or is that because of my involvement?

Brad: I put my marriage at risk to get Ash the help she needed. Doesn't mean I have to be happy about it.

Victor: But you got what you wanted. You got your wife back. So why are you worried about your marriage?

Brad: I don't know, Victor. Why would I be? Why would anyone? Why would you?

Victor: What do you mean, why would I?

Brad: Tell me something, how strong do you think your marriage is?

(Doorbell rings)

Nikki: Who is it?

Ashley: It's Ashley.

Nikki: What are you doing here?

Ashley: I'm sorry to barge in, but I need to speak with you.

Nikki: I really think that you should leave.

Ashley: I'm not leaving.

Nikki: Haven't you spent enough time with my husband today?

Ashley: I'm not here to talk with Victor.

Nikki: Good, because I don't want him to talk with you.

Ashley: Where is he, by the way?

Nikki: I really don't think that that's any of your concern, Ashley, but he'll be back very soon.

Ashley: Well, then we better make this quick.

Nikki: I'm not interested in anything you have to say.

Ashley: I thought I'd give you fair warning, Nikki.

Nikki: Fair warning of what?

Ashley: I'm going to do something, something I probably should have done a long time ago.

Nikki: Ashley, don't tell me that you're--

Ashley: I'm sorry, but I can't live with this secret any longer.

Nikki: You created this situation. You're gonna have to live with it.

Ashley: No, that's where you're wrong. Victor's gonna hear the truth about Abby, and he's gonna hear it from me.

Raul: What happened to Brittany wasn't enough of a train wreck already?

Angelo: Okay, another one, then. I'm telling you, things were getting dicey before. But now with her old man being a hothead--

Raul: Hold on a second. What are we talking about here?

Angelo: Look, it's more like "who."

Raul: All right, fine, who then?

Angelo: I'm not gonna tell ya.

Raul: What?

Angelo: I mean, look, I'm not gonna name names.

Raul: Oh, we're talking about Bobby's-- what'd you call them--"backers"?

Angelo: You can call 'em that.

Raul: Silent partners.

Angelo: Well, they're not gonna be silent for much longer. And that's the trouble.

Raul: Yeah? Well, that's Bobby's trouble and yours, right?

Angelo: Look, man, I know you don't give a damn about us or the club, but I was thinking, though, you do care about Brittany, right?

Raul: Is this another one of your threats?

Angelo: No, no, would you stop it already? Look, the only guy we planned on going after was Fred Hodges, okay? We don't harm women. Get that through your head. Now what I was saying was, Bobby has got it bad for your blonde friend.

Raul: Yeah, and she likes him just fine. And you know what? At the end of the day, when she's done working, she comes home to me.

Angelo: Is that right?

Raul: Yeah.

Angelo: You got nothing to worry about. You got her under lock and key, right?

Raul: No, I don't need that.

Angelo: You sure?

Raul: You know something I don't?

Angelo: That's what I'm trying to tell ya, dummy. Look it, Bobby's gonna get himself into a lot of trouble because of that chick, okay? What happened, her gettin' burned and all, is gonna bring down a lot of grief on the club and everyone who has anything to do with it.

Raul: Well, then Bobby won't have that much time to be fantasizing about Brittany, will he? He'll have his hands full.

Angelo: You just don't give a damn, do you?

Raul: The only thing I give a damn about is Brittany getting better.

Angelo: Okay, one more time. You and me, we got a lot in common.

Raul: Really?

Angelo: Really. I don't want Bobby going nuts over this chick. And you don't want Bobby for competition. Now trust me, sonny, this guy's got moves you never even dreamed of, okay? He's a full-grown,American man and a real sweetheart. So you'd be doing yourself a favor by keeping her away from him.

Bobby: What do you mean, don't look at you? Who else would I want to look at?

Brittany: I'm probably pretty scary, huh?

Bobby: Nah. Take something beautiful, you cover up half of it, the other half's still beautiful.

Brittany: My Mom told me about how... you know, they had to do surgery on my face.

Bobby: Yeah. Just a little. That's what I heard.

Brittany: Just a little, huh?

Bobby: Yeah, but they got a specialist. You got nothing to worry about.

Brittany: What happened, Bobby?

Bobby: I don't know. I swear on my mother's life, I don't know. Somehow a wire came loose and got in contact with that pole.

Brittany: "Somehow"? You mean it was an accident?

Bobby: Yeah.

Brittany: Don't lie to me.

Bobby: I'm not a detective. Maybe somebody rigged that pole. How would I know?

Brittany: Why would anyone want to hurt me? Because of my Dad?

Bobby: Look, Brittany, I'm gonna tell you something, and you just gotta believe it. I do know people who can get primitive. And their attitude is that the law doesn't take care of them, so they gotta take care of themselves, and when they do, they play rough. But they do not hurt women. It's like a code, a law. It just doesn't happen, or kids either.

Brittany: I'm not a kid.

Bobby: No, not anymore. But you are one hell of a woman. (Chuckles) you're the real deal when it comes to that department.

Brittany: Bobby, you're gonna make me blush. What would the doctor say?

Bobby: It'd be good for you.

Brittany: You're good for me.

Bobby: Yeah, right.

Brittany: I mean it.

Bobby: You wouldn't be in this hospital if you didn't know me.

Brittany: That's dumb. That's like saying if you weren't born, you'd never die.

Bobby: Okay, that's the kind of talk that makes me wish that I'd gone to college.

Brittany: Bobby, I don't want you to feel bad about this. I know you would never hurt me. I know if anyone else tried to and you could, you would stop them.

Bobby: I would, but--

Brittany: No "buts”. This isn't your fault. And I don't want to hear anything else about it.

Bobby: Okay, you're the boss.

Brittany: Bobby.

Bobby: Yeah.

Brittany: Now that we've settled that you're not to blame... can I share something with you?

Bobby: Yeah, of course you can.

Brittany: I'm scared. I don't want to have a scar on my face.

Bobby: It's not like you're gonna be the one that has to look at it. It ain't gonna make any difference to me. Why don't we just forget about it? I knew this girl once, and she was beautiful. I mean, absolutely beautiful. And she had a nasty scar that ran down from here all the way to here. You just spent five minutes with her, and you wouldn’t even see it. It was like it was never there

(Door opens)

Olivia: Okay, you two. Time's up. We need to change your dressings, Brittany.

Bobby: I'll just be right outside.

Brittany: No. Wait, Bobby. Doctor, can I talk to you for a moment?

Cop: You mind telling me why you're in this part of town?

Sharon: Uh, why? Did I do something wrong, officer?

Cop: You have a taillight out in back.

Sharon: Oh, really? I had no idea.

Cop: It's probably a loose connection. If you wanna pop the trunk for me, I can take a look.

Sharon: No. I-I mean, that's all right. Um, I'll just have it looked at right away. Thank you for letting me know.

Cop: I'm not sure how familiar you are with this part of town.

Sharon: Uh, not very.

Cop: Some pretty rough stuff goes on around here. It's probably not a place you want to be, especially at night, alone, this type of vehicle.

Sharon: I must have taken a wrong turn somewhere.

Cop: That would be my guess. Two blocks up, you'll see the on-ramp for I-94. It'll take you back downtown.

Sharon: I appreciate all your help, officer.

Cop: Don't forget about that taillight.

Sharon: I won’t. I promise. Thank you.

Danny: (Thinking) so what now, you gonna run straight to Chris, tell her that I'm a big liar, I'm all washed up?

Paul: No, I'm not gonna tell Chris anything. You are. (Door opens) (Door closes)

Chris: Hey there, superstar. Did you miss me?

Victor: I don't understand. What does my marriage to Nikki have to do with Ashley?

Brad: Have you forgotten about your history with her?

Victor: How could I forget about that? But it is just that, history.

Brad: I bet I wasn't the only one not too happy about your intervening with Ash.

Victor: Need I remind you that I helped her at your request?

Brad: That's beside the point. I'm betting Nikki had a lot to say about it. Unless, of course, you didn't tell her.

Victor: I told her that I had gone to see Ashley because you had asked me to help her. And that, indeed, I was able to help her.

Brad: And I'll bet she was thrilled, right? No problem with your involvement.

Victor: Bradley, this is getting a little tiresome. Why are you asking me these questions?

Brad: Why aren't you answering my questions? Did your wife take issue with you about your involvement with Ash?

Nikki: You are, without a doubt, the most selfish woman I have ever known.

Ashley: I'm sorry you feel that way, Nikki. But I can't let it worry me.

Nikki: Well, no, of course not. You don't worry about anybody but yourself. You certainly didn't when you concocted this insane, and I might add illegal, pregnancy scheme. You didn't care at all about how that would affect Victor's relationship with me.

Ashley: You weren't married at the time, Nikki.

Nikki: So what, that makes it okay? That makes it okay for you to steal his sperm and use it to become pregnant and not tell him?

Ashley: Abby's conception is not the issue here. The fact that Victor has a connection-- a biological connection-- with my daughter is what I'm dealing with now.

Nikki: My goodness, look at you. You're all mentally put back together. It's like a miracle.

Ashley: It is a miracle.

Nikki: Wow. After just an hour with my husband? It's really amazing. I mean, you've been out of it for how long now?

Ashley: I don't understand it either.

Nikki: Uh-huh. It's a very good act, Ashley. You have convinced everybody-- your husband, my husband. Not me. I don't buy it.

Ashley: Whether you do or don't doesn't really matter. It is true, it is real, and it's why I'm determined that Victor know the truth about Abby, for my own sanity.

Nikki: Oh, yes, by all means, let's save your sanity and forget what it will do to mine.

Raul: And while I'm doing this favor for myself, I'll be doing one for you, too, right?

Angelo: Well, me and Bobby. I tell you, you know, he's--he's nuts about this girl, man. I never seen him like this. He's always been a take-'em-or-leave-'em, plenty-of-fish-in-the-sea kind of guy, you know? But not this time. He's, like, writing love songs in his head, or poetry for all I know. But he sure as hell ain't mindin' the business.

Raul: And that's gonna get him in trouble, so maybe he deserves it.

Angelo: You know, you can be real irritating when you try. And you must be trying really hard.

Raul: Whoa, whoa, whoa, what are you gonna do? You gonna get all medieval on me right here in the middle of a hospital?

Angelo: Why not? They could help you stop the bleeding.

Raul: Get out. You don't scare me, man.

Olivia: Excuse me, gentlemen. Who are you?

Angelo: I'm sorry, doc. Look, I'm just the messenger, okay? And the message is be smart.

Olivia: What was that about?

Raul: Just a lot of nonsense. How's Brittany?

Olivia: We're just about to change the dressings on her face, and she'd like you to be there. You and Mr. Marsino both.

Danny: Of course I missed you, silly girl. Hey, how was your day?

Chris: Oh, I thought it would never end.

Danny: You must be dead on your feet.

Chris: No, strangely enough, I am not. I-I actually feel energized.

Danny: Yeah? Any special reason?

Chris: All I know is when I finished work, I thought I'd come home and collapse, but I'm raring to go.

Danny: Satisfaction of a job well done.

Chris: That's part of it. The truth is, I haven't felt this way in years.

Danny: Felt what way?

Chris: On top of the world. And the difference is you.

Sharon: (Thinking) damn, I should have thought this out more. What do I do with a body in the trunk of my car? Motel's far enough away now. I need to figure out something. (Cell phone rings)

Sharon: Nicholas?

Nick: Hey, babe, I'm glad I caught you. I got great news.

Sharon: Really, what?

Nick: Yeah, I got all my meetings done here in Chicago, so I don't have to stay the night.

Sharon: Fantastic.

Nick: Yeah. Well, I already sent the jet back, so I gotta fly commercial. I'm on the first flight out of O’Hare.

Sharon: Wow. That's great, honey.

Nick: Babe, are you okay? You sound a little distracted.

Sharon: I-I'm driving.

Nick: You must be in a trance from all that shopping.

Sharon: Huh?

Nick: Well, I talked to Miguel, and he said you asked him to clear out the trunk of the big car. Fenmore's must be having a big sale, huh?

Sharon: Uh, I've just been all over the place.

Nick: Ah, my wife, the bargain hunter.

Sharon: So when do you think you'll be home?

Nick: Oh, you miss me, huh? Must have been this afternoon. I mean, that was amazing. We gotta do that more often.

Sharon: Absolutely. So when can I expect you?

Nick: Well, it's a short flight, so door-to-door, I'd say couple of hours max.

Sharon: Great. I'll see you then.

Nick: I can't wait to see you. I love you.

Sharon: I love you, too, Nick, so much.

Man: Transglobal airlines flight 373...

Nick: Hold on a sec, babe.

Man: With service to Genoa City, is now boarding at gate 18.

Nick: All right, babe, that's my flight. I gotta go. I love you.

Sharon: Love you, too.

Sharon: Aah! Aah! Aah! Aah!

Danny: You know, now that you mention it, I had a little extra kick in my step today, too.

Chris: It's amazing, isn't it?

Danny: What is?

Chris: How easily we've slipped back into being together.

Danny: Right. I'm as comfortable as an old shoe.

Chris: Oh, that's not what I meant, and you know it.

Danny: Maybe it's because we're older and--and wiser.

Chris: Mm-hmm. No reason for pretense. We're just ourselves, totally honest with each other.

Danny: But things change. I mean, people change. You and I, it's, uh, well, it's been so long since we've been together, and we have a lot to learn about each other.

Chris: And we'll have plenty of time to do that, I hope. But as for tonight, I'm hoping we can sit back, relax, enjoy each other together. Can we do that?

Danny: I can't think of anything I'd rather do.

Chris: Good.

Victor: To answer your question, my marriage to Nikki is a strong as it has ever been.

Brad: Even with this whole bribery fiasco?

Victor: Even with this whole bribery fiasco.

Brad: And suppose there was another blow to your marriage, Victor, what do you think would happen?

Victor: Are you trying to dredge up some scandal that doesn't exist? Everything is all right in my marriage with Nikki.

Brad: I hope you're not being overconfident about your relationship.

Victor: Now you listen to me, my wife and I have overcome many a challenge to our marriage. We will continue to do so. And in spite of your extraordinary rudeness right now, I hope the same for you and Ashley. You have a good night.

Brad: I pray for that, too, Victor. But what's going to happen when you learn the truth?

Ashley: Why are you so insecure about your marriage, Nikki? Is it really that unstable?

Nikki: This has nothing to do with insecurity. Apparently, my husband has this mystical bond with you. And you want to tell him that the two of you share a child, and you don't understand why I have a problem with that? He's already curious why I freak out whenever he hovers around you.

Ashley: If he knew the truth, the mystery would be gone. Then we could put this behind us and get on with our lives. I love Brad. Victor knowing the truth isn't going to ruin our marriage. Why are you so convinced it's going to ruin yours?

Nikki: You know what's very odd? Just this afternoon, Victor was at your house, hoping for a breakthrough. And now mere hours later, you're here with this oh-so-reasonable argument. I don't understand that. And I really don't think that you're stable enough to make a decision like this, that will affect so many lives.

Ashley: I don't understand it myself. The mind is a funny thing. I mean, we don't fully understand how it works. I do know that I feel like a weight has been lifted, just thinking about ridding my life of this huge secret.

Nikki: You, you, you, you. Everything is about you. What about me, Ashley? I'm part of this thing, too, not that I wanted to be. Why should I have to suffer the consequences?

Ashley: Why are you so sure that you will? Victor loves you. I don't doubt that. Why do you?

Nikki: Can you even begin to imagine how complicated our life is? Do you have any idea what's going on with him? God, maybe you don’t. I-I-I don't know. With this state that you're in, I don't know what you know and what you don't know.

Ashley: I know that he's been charged with some serious crimes.

Nikki: No, it's gone further than that. He's confessed. You didn't know that, did you?

Ashley: I didn't know that.

Nikki: Well, he is awaiting sentencing. Any day now we could hear that he's going to prison. I hope that's not the case, but we don't know that for sure.

Ashley: I'm sorry. I truly am.

Nikki: Now can you possibly understand why I feel that I can't handle anymore?

Ashley: Do you have any idea what this has been like for me?

Nikki: Oh, my God.

Ashley: Not only did I withdraw from my life, but I rejected my husband and my baby girl. Now Victor helped me get beyond that. He also helped me realize that you can't run from painful things. You have to confront them. Living with this lie has been poisoning me, Nikki, and I can't go on like this.

Nikki: Will you please stop concentrating on yourself for a second and listen to what I have to say? You're right. Victor has done a lot for you, and you owe him. I mean, think about it. Think what he must be going through. He's a very proud man, and he has been publicly humiliated by his son. The respect that was so important to him is gone forever. His life has forever changed. He might be going to jail. Now I really don't think that now is the time to give him this sort of news.

Nikki: You started this many years ago. You started this deception. And then when I found out about it, you made me promise not to say anything. I became a part of it, and you begged me not to say anything. Well, Ashley, now I am begging you. Don't tell him this. If you have any feeling for him at all, don't open this door, not now. Don't do that to us. Don't do it to him.

Danny: This is a neat surprise.

Chris: What?

Danny: Well, you wanting me to stay. I figured you'd like a nice, quiet night alone, long, hot bath, right to bed.

Chris: I don't want to be alone, but you've got the rest of it right, which reminds me of the surprise I mentioned.

Danny: For me?

Chris: For us.

Danny: A scented candle. Bath salts.

Chris: Massage oil.

Danny: Somebody has romance on her mind.

Chris: Are you interested?

Danny: What red-blooded male wouldn't be interested in an offer like that? Why don't we first have a glass of wine, huh?

Chris: Sounds good.

Danny: And if you'd like after, I could whip us up some dinner. You know, I'm still a pretty darn good cook, if I do say so myself.

Chris: Dinner I could take or leave. I would, um, like to propose a toast, though.

Danny: By all means.

Chris: To new beginnings.

Danny: And creating new memories.

Danny: Hey, come here and sit down.

Chris: Okay.

Danny: Sit and relax, all right?

Chris: Oh, that feels so wonderful.

Danny: Now don't tell me you forgot what great massages I give.

Chris: How could I forget? You were the master.

Danny: Hey, let me tell you, I still am.

Chris: I can't believe this-- a handsome, world-famous rock star massaging me. Paradise takes on new meaning. Come over here. Did I do something wrong?

Danny: No, no, of course not.

Chris: Then what is it?

Danny: Before this evening goes any further, there's something I have to tell you, something you need to know.

Raul: Jeez, there's like a mile of that stuff.

Bobby: Well, they didn't want things moving around, right, doc?

Olivia: Right, the less stretching and pulling of the skin, the better.

Raul: She's young. That's good for healing, right?

Olivia: Younger skin is more elastic.

Brittany: You guys are talking about me like I'm some kind of specimen.

Raul: You are, a real beauty.

Bobby: You got that right.

Olivia: Okay, almost there.

Brittany: Okay, okay, I'm ready for this. I mean, come on, what's a little scar? It adds character, right? Raul, Bobby was telling me about this girl that he knew in--

Olivia: Brittany, the nurse needs you to not be talking right now.

Brittany: You guys will tell me if it looks awful, promise?

Raul: Come on, let's take a look.

Bobby: How bad could it be?

Nick: Will you marry me, Sharon? Who would have thought this is how the pieces fit...

Nick: To our place.

Sharon: Our place? ...Try making sense of it I forgot how we ever came this far I believe we have reasons but I don't know what they are so blame it on my heart, oh love moves in mysterious ways...

Sharon: Your son!

When love appears over the horizon I love you for the rest of my days but still it's a mystery how you ever came to me which only proves love moves in mysterious ways like the ticking of a clock two hearts beat as one but I'll never understand the way it's done oh, oh I love you for the rest of my days still it's a mystery how you ever came to me which only proves love moves in mysterious ways love moves in mysterious ways

Man: Lookie, lookie, who came to visit the neighborhood.

Next on "The Young and the Restless"...

Kevin: I am in love with Lauren Fenmore, and I feel great.

Sharon: Please, let me have a little

Man: Hey, shut up!

Sharon: No, no! Let me go!
