Nikki: Good morning. We are really doing this, aren't we? I loved waking up next to you this morning.
Victor: Before you opened your eyes, I realized how much Iím in love with you and how beautiful you are. Especially when you're happy.
Nikki: I guess that's going to be your job, keeping me happy.
Victor: You think so?
Nikki: Come home at a reasonable hour, leave your work at the office, and lots and lots of time with me, and plan on getting out of bed late.
Victor: Engaged only a day and you're already trying to change me.
Nikki: I wouldn't attempt such a thing. You're already exactly what I want.
Nicholas: What's going on down here? It's way too quiet to be my house.
Sharon: Good morning, sleepyhead.
Nicholas: You let me sleep in a really long time.
Sharon: That's because last night we had a really, really late and wonderful night. So I thought you could use the rest.
Nicholas: Well, thanks. Where are the little ones?
Sharon: I took them off to camp and made breakfast.
Nicholas: You're like superwoman.
Sharon: That's me. I'm superwoman.
Nicholas: You could have woken me up. I would have helped.
Sharon: I know you would have, and I love you for that. So scrambled eggs, toast, and coffee on the table.
Nicholas: There's a file at the office I really need to get.
Sharon: Okay. You want to read it over breakfast?
Nicholas: Yeah, you mind?
Sharon: Of course not.
Nicholas: You're the best.
Sharon: Diego, glad you're there.
Caitlin: So this is what it looks like to be on the outside. I am so glad to be out of jail.
Colleen: You can still hang out at the coffee house.
Caitlin: Your parents wouldn't let me hang out at night.
Colleen: I am the queen of being grounded. How to spend your night with your parents watching movies on the huge screen TV.
Caitlin: Don't look now, Colleen. There's J.T. He is so hot.
Colleen: He is so mine.
Caitlin: Do you want me to leave?
Caitlin: Good luck.
Nicholas: Hey, you seen the Barren file? Thanks. Good morning to you too. Rough night? Sorry to hear that. Wait a minute, is this about your date with Diego.
Victoria: In case you haven't noticed, I don't really feel like talking.
Nicholas: Give it some time. First dates are kind of weird.
Victoria: There's not going to be another date, Nicholas.
Nicholas: Why not? He didn't get out of line, did he?
Victoria: Nothing for you to worry about. Just that it's over and Iím going to talk to mother about getting a new groom.
Nicholas: You want to fire him?
Victoria: I knew this from the moment I met him I couldn't trust him.
Nicholas: This is about you two of you not hitting it off and now you want him gone.
Victoria: I have to go to work.
Nicholas: I just want to help.
Victoria: You want to help, stop pushing Diego and me together. It's not going to happen.
Victor: This is for a lady who adores surprises. It's not just a present, you know. It's a commitment from me to you.
Nikki: Yeah, an engagement ring.
Victor: You know, this is actually the first time I've actually seen you at a loss for words.
Nikki: It's just that I had no idea that you felt this way.
Victor: You must have guessed. You know my feelings, right?
Nikki: About ten carats deep.
Nikki: Twelve. I have never seen anything like this.
Victor: Nor will you. It's one of a kind, like the woman Iím asking to wear it.
Laurie: Max, what's the matter? Did you pull an all-nighter?
Max: I am not in the mood. Give me those divorce papers to sign and let me get this over with too.
Nikki: I think we should talk a little about the wedding.
Victor: Before I take you upstairs again?
Nikki: What's so special about upstairs? I like the way you think. I was just wondering if you thought anymore about the date.
Victor: Let's talk about this evening.
Nikki: There's something else you'd rather talk about now?
Nikki: I know what it is. You want to know how things went with Max Hollister last night.
Victor: Mm-hmm. Did you tell him about our engagement?
Nikki: I did. He wasn't happy.
Victor: Why would I care if he were happy or not?
Nikki: What about Laurie Brooks' surprise visit? She happened to be in town, happened to show up here?
Nikki: I'm sure she had other things on her mind. She probably saw the trash Leanna Love broadcast and wanted to get on the bandwagon. I'm sure the engagement goes over really well.
Victor: We didn't talk about the engagement nor did we talk about you.
Nikki: Why not?
Victor: What is going on in that beautiful head of yours?
Nikki: I think it's weird how she suddenly showed up.
Victor: You're not insecure, are you?
Nikki: I'll get over it.
Victor: You better, soon.
Nikki: You better behave yourself, young man.
Victor: I promise.
Victor: Is that better?
Nikki: Yeah. I hate to say this but I think you better leave. You're going to be late.
Victor: I love you. Don't you ever forget that.
Nikki: I intend to. You better go.
Billy: That's what I call a good morning.
Mackenzie: Maybe we should try it again?
Katherine: Mackenzie, who was that at the door?
Billy: It's just me, Mrs. Chancellor.
Katherine: Hello, Billy. You're certainly out and about very early.
Katherine: Do the two of you have plans for today?
Mackenzie: I'm not sure. Do we?
Billy: I hope so. I told my dad I was hanging with you all day.
Katherine: That's sweet. Your father called when you were in the shower.
Mackenzie: I'm sorry I missed him. How's he doing?
Billy: Is he still in Louisiana?
Katherine: In Louisiana building homes for the underprivileged.
Billy: That's great.
Katherine: I doubt he would think of it as that. He simply would say he's being of service.
Billy: We could definitely use more people like that in the world.
Katherine: Certainly could. Oh, listen, I have a thousand things to do. I'll leave you two alone.
Billy: See you later.
Mackenzie: Want some juice?
Billy: No, Iím all right.
Billy: Mac, I just had this amazing idea.
Diego: Sharon, what's wrong?
Sharon: Nothing. I was just worried you wouldn't be there.
Diego: Where else would I be? With Victoria?
Sharon: How did it go last night?
Diego: You know what? I don't want to get into this.
Sharon: Why not?
Diego: Because it's none of your business.
Sharon: Um, excuse me, I think you owe me this much.
Diego: You know, I don't owe you anything.
Sharon: This is going way beyond to what we agreed to.
Diego: We didn't agree to anything.
Sharon: This dating Victoria thing was supposed to be a ruse. Now I'm beginning to wonder if this is the case. Answer me, Diego. Are you falling for Victoria? I mean, do you have feelings for her?
Diego: You know what, Sharon? I'm not doing this.
Sharon: Diego, damn it, don't hang up on me! He's right. I have got to forget about him. I have to get him out of my mind somehow, but how? How? That was fast. Honey, what's wrong?
Nicholas: I just saw Victoria. She's upset.
Sharon: About what?
Nicholas: I guess her date with Diego was a bust.
Sharon: Really. What happened?
Nicholas: I don't know. Diego may have been a little too aggressive or something.
Sharon: Is that what Victoria said?
Nicholas: By the way she was acting; it's the only thing that makes sense. What?
Sharon: Did you ever think that maybe it was the other way around?
Nicholas: Sharon, come on. Don't get into Victoria is a man-eater thing please.
Sharon: She's been alone for a long time.
Nicholas: I'm serious; I don't want to hear it.
Sharon: Okay. Fine. So what exactly did she say?
Nicholas: She didn't give me any details.
Sharon: Think they'll ever go out again?
Nicholas: Not a chance.
Sharon: Wow. That bad, huh?
Nicholas: Worse. She now wants Diego fired from the ranch. I really messed things up for both of them.
Sharon: You're only trying to help.
Nicholas: Look what happened.
Sharon: Nick, don't. So things didn't work out. You were only trying to help your sister. No one can fault you for that. Did she go to the office?
Sharon: That's good. Probably best if those two don't run into each other.
Nicholas: I'm going to get some coffee.
Laurie: As I recall you promised to stop by last night.
Max: I couldn't make it. I'm here now.
Laurie: Oho, and not in a very good mood I see.
Max: Very perceptive.
Laurie: You were flying high the last time I saw you, so what has made you come crashing back to earth? Does this have anything to do with your mystery woman?
Max: She isn't my mystery woman any longer.
Laurie: Oh, Iím sorry. Do you want me to beat her up? Anybody I know?
Max: Nikki Newman.
Laurie: Nikki? You're interested in her?
Max: It's moot. She's no longer available.
Laurie: What happened?
Max: Victor happened. That's what happened.
Laurie: The two of them are back together?
Max: More than together. They're engaged.
Laurie: Oh, please.
Max: I can't believe she fell for that guy again. It's only a matter of time he's going to end up hurting her.
Laurie: Victor and Nikki tying the knot again. He didn't say anything to me.
Max: You saw him?
Laurie: Yes, at his penthouse last night. I mean, her name came up, but there was never a mention of an engagement. That's peculiar, don't you think?
Max: You're still interested in the guy, aren't you?
Laurie: What woman wouldn't be?
Max: What's with this guy?
Laurie: You have to ask?
Max: He's rich and powerful.
Laurie: And incredibly sexy.
Max: That's why you came back, isn't it, to make a play for Newman.
Laurie: Max, you know the real reason. But I did love Victor, and we were very close all those years ago.
Max: And very engaged.
Laurie: I don't know. Maybe I let a golden opportunity slip through my fingers.
Max: Oh, brother. Wait a minute. Maybe you can change that and Iím just the fellow to help you do it.
Victoria: Aren't you supposed to be at work?
Diego: I was waiting to hear from you.
Victoria: Why would you think you would hear from me?
Diego: What's with this attitude?
Victoria: You don't know.
Diego: No, I donít. Victoria, I don't get this. Would you just come in?
Victoria: So you can humiliate me again?
Diego: This has something to do with last night.
Victoria: Give the boy a gold star. Maybe you get off being rejected but I don't like it so much.
Diego: I wasn't rejecting you.
Victoria: You lead me on all night long and then you say you're not interested. If that's not rejection, I don't know what is.
Mackenzie: An amazing idea, huh?
Billy: Yeah. Okay, here's the deal. In a couple weeks, we're off to college.
Mackenzie: I know. I just hate it. Billy, after all we've been through? Now we're about to be ripped apart all over again.
Billy: I don't want to be apart from you either.
Mackenzie: We'll get through it, Billy, somehow.
Billy: Maybe it's a mistake. Maybe we shouldn't be apart from each other right now.
Mackenzie: There's nothing we can do about it.
Billy: Maybe there is.
Mackenzie: What are you getting at?
Billy: Sit down. I had this inspiration when you were talking about your dad. What do you think about working with him? I know college starts soon. What if we changed our plans?
Mackenzie: Are you serious?
Billy: It's not like we would be bailing on college forever. We skip a semester or two. This is a chance to do something important, meaningful, give back, and help people. Don't you see? This would be perfect. We'd be making a difference and we'd be helping people. Come on, Mac, what do you say?
Mackenzie: It would be.
Billy: Let's do it.
Mackenzie: It's not that simple.
Billy: Get on the phone, talk to your dad.
Mackenzie: You're forgetting something, one big problem. Your mom? Come on. There's no way she would go along with this and we both know why.
J.T.: Oh, hey.
Colleen: What you looking at?
Colleen: It has to be something.
J.T.: It's nothing you'd be interested in.
Colleen: Try me.
J.T.: It's a list of books.
Colleen: That you've been reading over the summer?
J.T.: Stuff Iím supposed to be reading.
Colleen: For college?
J.T.: It hasn't even started and they're already piling it on me. I had the list since May and I looked at it this morning.
Colleen: I'm sure you read most of them.
J.T.: Try zero.
Colleen: What are you going to do?
J.T.: Beats me.
Colleen: Can I see that?
J.T.: Knock yourself out.
Colleen: I've read almost all of these.
J.T.: Why don't you go to college for me?
Colleen: I can't do that but if we put our heads together. Buy me an orange juice and Iíll tell you what I have in mind.
Diego: You got this all wrong, Victoria.
Victoria: I made a huge fool out of myself. Maybe that was part of your plan.
Diego: Plan? What plan?
Victoria: You lead me on. The minute I reach out to you, you shut me down.
Diego: Victoria, wait.
Victoria: Get your hands off me.
Diego: I think you're an incredibly beautiful, smart woman. You were reaching out to somebody. I want you to want me. I don't want to just be a shoulder to lean on for comfort. Despite what you think, I care.
Victoria: You have a funny way of showing it.
Diego: Damn it, I want you to know how I feel.
Victoria: What the hell are you doing?
Diego: Sorry, that was a mistake. Maybe you're just way off base about my feelings. Just forget it.
Victoria: Diego, wait.
Billy: All right, I admit, my mom might not be crazy about the idea.
Mackenzie: Let you put off college to be with me? She's probably counting the days Iím out of your life.
Billy: Doesn't mean she will kill the idea. Mac, a lot of people take time off before going to college. We will be helping people, making a difference.
Mackenzie: You don't have to convince me. I say the minute my name comes up, your mom will go through the roof.
Billy: What about your dad? My mom used to be pretty close to Brock.
Mackenzie: You think he can talk her into it?
Billy: I don't know. It's worth a shot, don't you think?
Mackenzie: Billy, I don't want to put him through that. What if he thinks I should go to college too? Then there's also my grandmother and your father.
Billy: I didn't say this was going to be easy, all right? We will have to convince our parents that this is the right thing to do. But I believe that, don't you? I just got close to you again. I don't want to lose you.
Mackenzie: I don't want to lose you either, Billy.
Billy: We're 18. We're adults now. We can do what we want.
Mackenzie: If your mom goes berserk--.
Billy: That's her problem. We can do this, Mac. If we both want this to happen, we can make this happen. Just say the word. I'm going to take off now. You think about it. Call me on my cell?
Mackenzie: Yeah. Let's go.
Sharon: Hey, you're so tense.
Nicholas: This thing with Diego and Victoria, I should have just left it alone. I shouldn't have got involved.
Sharon: Maybe you learned a lesson.
Nicholas: That I should leave matchmaking to somebody else?
Sharon: I'll go with that. I love you so much.
Nicholas: I love you, too.
Sharon: Promise me you will never lose sight of that.
Nicholas: We're too crazy about each other.
Sharon: Hey, you know what? The kids are at camp. We're all alone.
Nicholas: As good as that sounds --
Sharon: What? You have to go to the office?
Nicholas: Yeah. Forgive me?
Sharon: I guess. Of course, there's always tonight.
Sharon: You better get out of here before I change my mind.
Nicholas: You're right. Yeah, okay, I'll go. I love you.
Sharon: I love you. It's over. The whole thing with Victoria and Diego is over. Thank God.
Diego: Okay, Victoria. You have something to say? I didn't think so.
Victoria: Wait, wait, I do. I haven't, um, been exactly honest with you. I haven't been exactly forthcoming. I didn't trust you at first, and I thought something might be going on between you and Sharon. Well, that doesn't really matter now.
Diego: How come?
Victoria: Because something happened along the way, something I didn't expect.
Diego: I didn't expect it either.
Victoria: I was so angry with you last night. I didn't understand why.
Diego: And I didn't want to take a chance, starting off on the wrong foot. If something happens, I just want it to be right.
Victoria: What if I told you I wasn't angry anymore?
Diego: Not hurt thinking about the past anymore?
Victoria: Would that make a difference?
J.T.: Okay. Now tell me your big plan.
Colleen: I read most of these books on the list. Got together a few times, talked about them.
J.T.: You want to be my tutor?
Colleen: You have a problem with that? I can give you what the professors like to know.
Colleen: Sure, J.T. I want to help you.
J.T.: You're on. I don't have time to read all that junk.
Colleen: Let's get started.
J.T.: I just got up. I'm not in the studying mood. Why don't we do it at the boutique? I'll be so bored there talking about books will seem interesting.
Colleen: This is perfect. I can finally repay you.
J.T.: For what?
Colleen: For my dance recital.
J.T.: Watching all the girls dance in tights, that was real --
Colleen: I was totally shocked because you videotaped it so my family could see.
J.T.: I wanted to check out my new camera.
Colleen: That was sweet.
J.T.: Sweet and me don't go together.
Colleen: Sure they do.
J.T.: You're nuts, you know that?
Colleen: I wish you weren't going away to college.
J.T.: Who said anything about going away?
Colleen: Assumed. Everybody is going away.
J.T.: Not this boy. Why live in a dorm with a bunch of geeks when I can hang out at home, have my mom cook and clean for me. Look, I have to get out of here.
Colleen: See you at the boutique.
J.T.: Right, Teach. It's really cool your helping me out.
Billy: What are you doing with that jerk, J.T.?
Laurie: All right, Max, you made me wait long enough. Now how can you help me?
Max: Even though you don't want to admit it, it's obvious you're here for Victor.
Laurie: That may be one reason.
Max: It's the only reason. You could have mailed me the divorce papers.
Laurie: Your point?
Max: Did you see Leanna Love's exposť?
Laurie: No, but I heard about it.
Max: I'm convinced that man slept with each and every one of them.
Laurie: Have you forgotten she retracted it on the air?
Max: Nikki was livid at first and she bought into the guy's lies. I'm convinced given the opportunity that man would show his true colors. Laurie, my dear, I think you're that opportunity.
Laurie: Wait a minute, are you suggesting --?
Max: How did your meeting with the great one go? You said he didn't mention he was engaged.
Max: Did he make a play for you?
Laurie: Of course not.
Max: He still didn't say he was getting married. Why do you suppose that is? Take a wild guess.
Laurie: I am not going to discuss this with you, especially since you were loathe to discuss your love life with me last night knowing full well what the connection was, and now you want to contribute to mine?
Max: Laurie, darling, you were engaged to the man. I get the distinct impression you are still interested in him.
Laurie: My relationship with Victor was very complicated. He did some horrible things. Well, I did some things Iím not exactly proud of.
Max: What, you're worried about the guy's reputation? This guy is so used to getting his way, it's about time he got knocked down a couple of notches. Know what it's like to lose something precious?
Laurie: You have no idea what you're talking about.
Max: Listen, Laurie, you want a chance with Newman, the obvious way that will happen is if Newman is out of the way.
Laurie: Get out.
Max: We both can get what we want. All you have to do is do what you wanted to do to begin with.
Laurie: I said it's time to leave.
