Nikki: That is great news. It sounds like everything is moving along better than anticipated. Keep me posted, Adam.
Ashley: About your anti-aging cream?
Nikki: We're way ahead on product testing. Jack is the only member I haven't talked to about this.
Ashley: The reason Jack hasn't been around, he was in the hospital with Phyllis. She was very ill.
Nikki: Please don't tell me it had to do with the hormone treatment.
Ashley: How did you know that? I only found out because of the crisis.
Nikki: Your brother had to confide in someone. He wanted to keep it to himself but he had to share it with someone.
Ashley: They went for it.
Nikki: Phyllis got sick? Are Jack and Phyllis going to be able to have a child together?
Jack: Diane, what are you doing here? On second thought, never mind.
Diane: I'll make it interesting.
Jack: Get out now before I throw you out.
Diane: You wouldn't do that.
Jack: Just try me.
Diane: You'll have to throw us both out because my son and I aren't leaving, not until I get some answers.
Malcolm: It shouldn't be too long. If you need me, call the studio in the next couple days and they will know how to contact me. All right. Good. Thanks a lot. I'll talk to you soon. That takes care of that. Julia, I appreciate you bringing him by like this.
Julia: Not a problem. What time do you have to be at the airport?
Malcolm: I have to be there soon and I haven't thought about packing.
Nate: Can I help?
Malcolm: Appreciate it, but no, you have to get back to school.
Nate: You had something else to tell me?
Malcolm: I'll wait until I get back. I bet you won't even miss your dear old dad. Little man, you know I love you, right?
Nate: Yeah. And I love you too, Dad.
J.T.: I hope you're satisfied.
Brittany: Am I supposed to know what you're talking about?
J.T.: You wouldn't know anything about that, would you? It's over.
Brittany: That's what you wanted. Mac gave you an earful. Look on the bright side. You're free of Rianna and now she won't give you the time of day.
J.T.: This was none of your business.
J.T.: You hate the idea of someone loving Mac.
Brittany: I did you a favor.
J.T.: I'll return it. I guarantee you that.
Cody: Nicholas will only be coming in at night?
Sharon: When he finishes at Newman Enterprises. I'll be in during the day.
Cody: How long will it be like this?
Sharon: For the foreseeable future.
Cody: I don't know what to say. I'm sorry.
Sharon: Thanks, Cody.
Sharon: You know, we never got to finish our conversation.
Diego: No, but I still got the message. It'll probably be better if I work someplace else. That's what I'm going to do.
Victoria: Could you run down to the pharmacy for me please?
Sure, what do you need?
Victoria: Decongestant, and something for an upset stomach and a big bottle of vitamin C.
You got it.
Nicholas: You look awful.
Victoria: Thanks a lot.
Nicholas: Coming down with something?
Victoria: I think I'm catching that bug that went around.
Nicholas: I just stopped by Dad's office.
Victoria: Did he tell you about Kenya?
Nicholas: Yeah. You sure you're going to be up for that?
Victoria: Yeah. I'm fine. How are you?
Nicholas: Things could be better.
Victoria: What happened?
Nicholas: My wife banned me from my own coffee house.
Olivia: Thank you, John.
John: My pleasure, Dr. Winters.
Olivia: You need to get back to work?
Neil: No, I have a little time.
Olivia: You sure? I don't want to keep you.
Neil: I'm really enjoying your company. Liv, I hope I'm not overstating things. I think there's been a change, like maybe we're on our way to becoming friends. If that's true, I couldn't be happier.
Olivia: I've missed you.
Neil: Same here. These past few months have been hell. Not having you to lean on has made things worse.
Olivia: Come on, Neil.
Neil: I screwed up. I know I did.
Olivia: Let's not rehash this, please.
Neil: There is no point dwelling on the past. There is one thing I need to make clear.
Neil: When I ended our relationship, I said a few things. I doubt you believed them because you were hurt and angry, and you had every right to be. But I want you to know, Olivia, that everything I said, it came from my heart, and I am sorry about what happened. I truly do care about you, and I always will.
Olivia: A part of me feels I shouldn't be listening to this, but I'm glad you feel the need to say it.
Sharon: Exactly what message did you get?
Diego: Put it this way, Sharon. Things between you and me were already a little awkward. On top of that what happened before with Nick?
Sharon: He wanted to hire you.
Diego: I know. I got the feeling he was putting you in this uncomfortable position. You don't owe me anything. I can find another job.
Sharon: Do you want to work here?
Diego: Yeah. Yeah, I do, not if it's going to be an issue between you and your husband.
Sharon: I thought this place might be a refuge for me, you know, a place where I could just get away from all the tension. It hasn't exactly worked out that way. At least Nicholas and I agreed to split up my time here. I wonder if I should be here at all.
Diego: Why do you say that?
Sharon: When this place came up for sale we decided to buy it.
Diego: A good business opportunity.
Sharon: More than that. This was the place where we met.
Diego: You're kidding.
Sharon: When we went to high school, we went there all the time. The place is really a symbol of our relationship. It's everything we shared. I think every time it reminds me of him. But now the way things are, I wonder if I should just walk out that door and never come back.
Victoria: You and Sharon reached a compromise.
Nicholas: Yeah. I take the coffee house at nights. She'll take the day shifts.
Victoria: She didn't want you there at all?
Nicholas: Like she totally forgot why we bought Crimson Lights.
Victoria: To have a place of your own.
Nicholas: So we had a place of our own.
Victoria: Things are getting out of hand.
Nicholas: Sharon needs a good reality check.
Victoria: If things aren't better when I get back from my trip, I'll have a talk with her.
Nicholas: Go ahead. I doubt you'll get far. I have a feeling in her heart she's closed the door. Look at the way she's behaving. She's taken our coffee house and split it up. I'm no idiot.
Victoria: You don't think she's --
Nicholas: She hasn't filed for divorce yet but she's already divvying up our lives.
Malcolm: Hey, you. I'm glad you came over, hot stuff. I have been meaning to call. It's been crazy lately.
Phyllis: What's with all the bags?
Malcolm: I'm flying to Kenya tonight.
Phyllis: You're going to Africa?
Malcolm: It's a shoot for Brash & Sassy. Don't tell me you didn't know.
Phyllis: I've been out of the loop for a couple days.
Malcolm: They're doing a whole new print campaign capitalizing off the "Survivor" craze. We should get some great stuff. You know me, Phyllis. I said I wouldn't do the gig unless Alex could tag along.
Phyllis: I guess Victoria complied.
Malcolm: We are taking a couple extra days for a little safari.
Phyllis: That sounds great.
Malcolm: That's the idea. To do this issue, we had to push back the wedding date.
Phyllis: I didn't know you set one.
Malcolm: Oof. Yeah, we decided to get married in March.
Phyllis: Wow. You are just full of surprises.
Malcolm: Please don't get on my case for not telling you sooner. We didn't decide anything until last night.
Phyllis: Where are you getting married?
Phyllis: There are churches in Genoa City.
Malcolm: There are a lot of reasons we kept the ceremony out of town and just
between the two of us.
Phyllis: I'm just giving you a hard time.
Malcolm: Are you happy for me?
Phyllis: Yes, I am happy for you. Of course I am. I'm glad everything worked out for you.
Malcolm: Thank you.
Jack: I assume this is Victor Christian.
Diane: His name is Kyle now.
Jack: You changed it.
Diane: Yes. The reason is obvious.
Jack: Kyle, after your father.
Diane: You remembered.
Jack: Your father was a good guy. You assumed I wouldn't give you the bum rush if you were sitting there holding him? I shouldn't be surprised. This isn't the first time you used your son.
Diane: Why do you have to be so mean?
Jack: Why do you keep invading my life?
Diane: I won't be here long. Just tell me what I need to know. I never intended to come back to Genoa City. I certainly wasn't eager seeing you looking at me like that again. I felt I had no choice.
Jack: Yeah. I'll just bet.
Diane: I had a visitor in Milan.
Jack: Is that so?
Diane: It was your friend Nikki. I won't bore you with the details but suffice it to say she's up to no good.
Jack: That's why you're here.
Diane: To see if he's threatened in any way.
Jack: Why would Nikki want anything to do with Kyle?
Diane: To make a long story short --
Jack: Yeah, yeah, let's please do that.
Diane: All right. It wasn't enough that Nikki maneuvered things that I didn't have Victor's child. Now she's involving the biological father.
Jack: What on earth for?
Diane: I don't know. But I am not leaving town until I find out. That's why I came to you.
Jack: What makes you think I can help?
Diane: You and Nikki have always been close. You could get something out of her.
Jack: That assumes an awful lot.
Diane: The woman despises me.
Jack: Really. I wonder why.
Diane: I brought Kyle with me because I know what a good heart you have, especially when it comes to children. I wanted you to see my son so you know it's not about me. Whatever Nikki is plotting could affect the rest of his life. I'm begging you, Jack, find out what she's up to. Please.
Ashley: For you.
Nikki: That was a convenient interruption.
Ashley: What do you mean?
Nikki: You were doing everything you could to avoid answering questions from Jack.
Ashley: I'm surprised you're so tuned into his situation.
Nikki: You have issues with Phyllis.
Ashley: You haven't been her biggest fan. I have closed a lot of doors with my brother, I know.
Nikki: You seem to be back in sync now. He told you about Phyllis being ill.
Ashley: He was scared to death.
Nikki: You still haven't answered me. What's the prognosis? Are they going to be able to have a child together?
Ashley: I haven't spoken to Jack yet, but Phyllis seems to think that it's possible.
Nikki: You don't seem very convinced.
Ashley: Jack's opposed to it. He's totally against it. He's put his foot down.
Rianna: What were you and J.T. talking about?
Brittany: You. Did Mac tell you where she heard the rumor about him?
Rianna: It came from you.
Brittany: Are you mad I didnít come to you first?
Rianna: It doesn't matter now.
Brittany: For what it's worth, I'm sorry it happened like this.
Rianna: It's not like J.T. and I could have gone on like this. I wish I could have seen the truth earlier. I could have done something about it.
Brittany: Break up with him?
Rianna: I wouldn't have pushed him so hard. I have been thinking a lot about our relationship. The first time around, he pulled away after we slept together.
Brittany: Because he got what he wanted.
Rianna: J.T. was so sweet and romantic before and after. I felt he wasn't as happy with me as I was with him, but I just needed to look at the bigger picture.
Brittany: This I've got to hear.
Rianna: Things were fine until the holidays. That's when I pushed J.T. to hang out with me and my parents. It must have freaked him out. He must have thought I wanted to marry him or something.
Brittany: He's never been in a committed relationship in his life.
Rianna: He must have felt suffocated. It's really my fault. I should have been happy with the way things were. I was with the guy that I love and that should have been enough.
Brittany: Where are you going with this?
Rianna: I think Iíll give things another try.
Neil: I can promise you one thing, Liv, walking away from you is a mistake I will never, ever make again. If there's a chance I can get back what we used to have -- well, I guess I better not push my luck.
Olivia: I think that would be best. Actually, since we're talking this way, may I be candid?
Neil: By all means.
Olivia: I know you stopped drinking, seeing a counselor. Honestly, how are you feeling?
Neil: Tough question. I'm gaining perspective. And that would normally be good except the more perspective I get the more unbelievable it all is.
Olivia: What do you mean?
Neil: How did I get myself in this situation? My whole life I've been the one in charge. I've been the one in control. This whole thing with Alex and Malcolm happened. I don't know, I totally lost it.
Olivia: It certainly didn't seem like you.
Neil: I knew how ridiculous I was being. I must have told myself a hundred times to let it go.
Olivia: Your heart doesn't always listen to your head.
Neil: Unfortunately. Olivia, I tried so hard to forget about Alex. I just couldn't get her out of my mind.
Jack: May I?
Diane: Of course.
Jack: Hey, there. Hello. He's beautiful.
Diane: Thank you.
Jack: I can actually see a resemblance.
Diane: He's a very happy little boy.
Jack: He seems to be.
Diane: I'm a good mother, Jack. I know that might come as a surprise to you, but I am completely devoted to my son. I am always there for him. It would be unthinkable if something happened to change that.
Malcolm: Hey, you. Phyllis, what's going on? You all right?
Phyllis: I'm fine.
Malcolm: You're not fine.
Phyllis: As soon as women hear the word, wedding, we turn to mush.
Malcolm: I think there's a little something more going on. It's me. Talk to me.
Phyllis: Nothing is wrong. I want to tell you, enjoy your happiness, okay?
Malcolm: Phyllis, okay, I'm worried.
Phyllis: I have to go.
Malcolm: You are not going to drop tears and walk away from me. Come on now. Something's obviously going on so tell me about it.
Olivia: So where do you go from here?
Neil: Well, I guess you could say I'm on the road to recovery.
Olivia: That's not a bad direction to be headed.
Neil: No, it's not.
Olivia: That's why it's out of the question for you to go to Kenya.
Neil: The less I sees of Malcolm and Alex, the better.
Olivia: Let's change the subject. Tell me a little bit about your counseling.
Neil: What do you want to know?
Olivia: What do you talk about?
Neil: We talk about things, how senseless it is to drown your sorrows in booze.
Olivia: Helpful to confide in someone.
Neil: Mmm-hmm. I know it's helped me a lot. I'm starting to feel like my old self again.
Olivia: I'm really proud of you, Neil.
Neil: Thanks. It's a good sign I'm able to have this conversation. Sorry. I didn't mean to put you on the spot.
Olivia: It's okay. Don't apologize.
Neil: I should be checking in on Victoria, make sure there's no last-minute panic. It's really good to talk to you, Liv. I mean that. Bye.
Victoria: I can't believe Sharon would go that far.
Nicholas: I can't either.
Victoria: What are you going to do?
Nicholas: I'm not giving up, especially for the kids' sake.
Victoria: Do they know?
Nicholas: Noah, he thinks it's a matter of where I sleep.
Victoria: And Cassie?
Nicholas: Being a trooper as usual. It's starting to get her. Family means so much to her.
Victoria: Since she didn't have a family for so long.
Nicholas: She's unwilling to bend.
Victoria: I wish I could talk to her before I leave for my trip. I mean, I only have a few more things to do around here. Maybe I can stop by the coffee house before the airport.
Nicholas: You're sick.
Victoria: Did you get everything?
It's all in the bag. Can I get you anything else?
Victoria: You're a lifesaver.
Nicholas: Are you sure you're going to be all right?
Victoria: Yes, I'm fine.
Nicholas: Have a safe trip. Drink lots of fluids.
Victoria: Thank you. I should have asked for aspirin too.
Brittany: You're going to give it another try with J.T.?
Rianna: Why not?
Brittany: Let me count the reasons.
Rianna: I have to swallow pride, go back to J.T. and say I want to move slower. It's not like J.T. was concerned about pride when we were together. Like when Raul and I were going through the long break-up, J.T. waited until I was ready.
Brittany: What planet are you living on? J.T. dumped you twice.
Rianna: I thought you were trying to be my friend?
Brittany: I am.
Rianna: Maybe you are not seeing things clearly. J.T. is not the same person. Why would he still be with me if he didn't care?
Brittany: Why do I have to be the bearer of bad news?
Rianna: Excuse me?
Brittany: Evidently, you don't know the whole story. Guess what, you're going to hear it now.
Neil: Vicki, good. I've written up some final thoughts for the shoot. Earth to Victoria.
Nicholas: Oh, my. You look flushed. Let me see your head. Oh, Vicki, you're burning up. You're a lot more than a little warm.
Victoria: I think I have a touch of the flu.
Neil: Any coughing, sneezing, anything like that? Antacid, do you have an upset stomach?
Victoria: Who are you calling?
Neil: Olivia. You need to see a doctor.
Victoria: No, I donít.
Neil: Don't argue with me.
Victoria: Fine. She better get here soon. I have to go to the airport.
Rianna: I know the whole story.
Brittany: Obviously, you donít. J.T. has been itching to break up with you for a while.
Rianna: Why didn't he?
Brittany: There's no easy way to tell you this. It might save you humiliation along the way.
Rianna: Will you stop stalling?
Brittany: It's because of Mackenzie.
Rianna: What about Mackenzie?
Brittany: He has a thing for her. He didn't want to dump you because he knew it would make him look bad in her eyes.
Rianna: All right, Brittany.
Brittany: You don't have to believe me. That's your choice. Consider yourself warned.
Rianna: J.T. doesnít have a thing for Mackenzie. Sheís not his type.
Brittany: Because she doesn't put out?
Rianna: Do you have to be so trashy?
Brittany: Because she doesn't have a relationship of a sexual nature? Ri, J.T. cares a lot what Mackenzie thinks about him. In fact, he secretly worships her.
Rianna: No way.
Brittany: Way. That chick adores being worshipped.
Rianna: Why are you doing this to me?
Brittany: I'm doing it for you, not to you. You can believe what you want. I'm just trying to help you.
Diego: You know, Iíll walk away from this place, Sharon.
Sharon: I don't?
Diego: You said so yourself. This place is more than four walls machine. It's a symbol how much you and Nick love each other.
Sharon: It used to be.
Diego: I don't want to stick my nose where it doesnít belong. It sounds like there's still hope. You need to stay here, Sharon.
Sharon: I don't know, Diego.
Diego: Hang around for a while and see how it goes. You made an arrangement with Nick.
Sharon: I suppose it couldn't do any harm.
Diego: Who knows. Maybe something good will come out of it. What's the smile for?
Sharon: I wasn't sure about you working here before. But now if you want the job it's yours.
Diego: You sure?
Sharon: Yeah, I'm sure.
Diego: Okay. I better get back to work. Excuse me.
Diane: So you'll help me?
Jack: No. I will do this much. You have nothing to worry about where Nikkiís concerned.
Diane: How can you be sure?
Jack: You have nothing to worry about. I have told you all that I can.
Diane: I don't believe you. I heard things were going well in your life. You're all wrapped up in your wonderful, new marriage. I thought you could find some compassion for me. How foolish of me.
Jack: I wish you could accept what I'm telling you.
Diane: You haven't told me anything. You were my last hope, Jack. I'll be leaving soon. Going back to Milan. But you tell your friend Nikki that she better stay away from me and my son, because if she tries anything, Iíll be ready.
Ashley: So Nikki, what's the report? Is it as positive as you expected?
Nikki: Yeah, yeah.
Ashley: You seem kind of out of it.
Nikki: I'm just so upset about this news about Jack. It's very disappointing.
Ashley: It's a huge disappointment. Knowing what a child would mean to Jack.
Nikki: You say he's the one that put an end to the treatment?
Ashley: What happened with Phyllis is terrifying for him. He doesn't want to try again if there's no guarantee it won't happen again. I know what I know from Phyllis.
Nikki: You're her confidante now?
Ashley: She asked me to talk to Jack to give it another try.
Nikki: Are you going to?
Ashley: I won't get in the middle of this. Jack would blame me. I would blame myself. At this point we have to hope the love they have for each other will hold the marriage together.
Nikki: As years go by, do you think that will be enough?
Ashley: Couples don't need children to be happy.
Nikki: I know that.
Ashley: I realize having a child of his own has been a dream of Jack's.
Nikki: For as long as I can remember.
Ashley: He'll have to learn to live without it.
Nikki: Do you think he can?
Ashley: He knows Phyllis has given it her all. If that's Jack's choice, we have to respect it, and that's what I told Phyllis. Even if it means there's not a chance for Jack to have a child of his own to raise.
Phyllis: The doctor assured us we could go ahead with the hormone treatment, except Jack, he thinks the same thing's going to happen.
Malcolm: Phyllis, I don't really blame him.
Phyllis: I talked to Ashley and asked if she could help change Jack's mind.
Malcolm: No luck?
Phyllis: She's stuck on this business that it's too risky.
Malcolm: Just like me.
Phyllis: We encounter risk every day. Crossing the street is risky. But you look both ways and are careful.
Malcolm: Relax. I'm in your corner. I don't know what I could possibly do.
Phyllis: Malcolm, he has to turn around. I just want to try again.
Malcolm: You want my advice? Chill out, Phyllis.
Phyllis: That's your advice?
Malcolm: Jack is reacting out of the heat of the moment. Chill out. Give him time, a week, a month or two maybe.
Phyllis: I want to proceed on this. I'm psyched. I think this could make a difference in our marriage having a child.
Malcolm: What if you can't get Jack to agree?
Phyllis: Then Iíll stop trying.
Malcolm: Phyllis, what does that mean?
Phyllis: That means if my husband won't come to his senses, Iíll do it on my own.
