Jack: Well, that's it for me. Anything else on your end?

Ashley: Not concerning business.

Jack: You going to grill me now on the sordid details of my love life?

Ashley: Have you talked to Traci today?

Jack: She's taking Colleen to the Crimson Lights where her favorite heartthrob Raul will be there to meet her.

Ashley: Leave it to our sister to create a perfect diversion to keep her mind off of leaving.

Jack: Not to mention --

Ashley: Not to mention what?

Jack: Nothing. Why are you looking at me like that?

Ashley: You're ducking something.

Jack: You think I know something you don't?

Ashley: I know you do. I think it has to do with Steve and her marriage.

Traci: Here we are, sweetie. What do you think?

Colleen: It's a coffee house. What do you think?

Traci: Would you like to go somewhere else?

Colleen: Yes, New York.

Traci: Colleen, look, why don't you try to be more in the moment.

Colleen: I don't understand. Is it a crime to want to go home and see daddy? I miss him.

Traci: I know you do, sweetie.

Colleen: Don't you?

Traci: Let's grab a table. I'm dying for an iced tea. Come on.

Raul: Allow me.

Colleen: My God, it's you.

Raul: Have we met before?

Colleen: Yes. I mean no. I know you from the glow by jabot house.

Raul: And you're Colleen.

Colleen: How did you know that?

Raul: I don't know. You just seem like a Colleen.

Traci: See what I mean, sweetie, about being in the moment?

Brad: Andy, this is Brad Carlton again. I'm still waiting for that overnight letter from corporate technologies. I understand you're understaffed. It's on the way to the board room right now? You're sure. Hallelujah.

Brad: Am I a klutz or what? --

Nikki: It's all right. I won't tell your boss you tried to mow me over.

Larry: You're kidding, right?

Relax. You didn't do it on purpose.

Larry: Maybe it's a way for paying you back for messing up my spotless floor. My name's Larry.

I am Julie. Thanks for your help.

Larry: My pleasure. You got it all?

Yeah. Thanks again.

Larry: Okay. Take it easy. Oh, man, you're doing all right, Larry. Getting a smile from a girl like that. Wow. 12th floor, huh? You going up there? I'll drop this off myself.

Neil: Okay, look, I know you and Olivia aren't best buddies, but she's still a good source.

Alex: I realize that, Neil. I also have come up empty canvassing doctors.

Neil: Olivia is not connected with Lawson medical. She could be persuaded to steer you towards somebody that could talk to you.

Alex: That's a pretty big "f" considering how she feels about me. Unless you approach her.

Neil: I'm in her doghouse too.

Alex: Even if we find a doctor op (can't make this out) the inside, I don't know how much protection we can offer. We would be filling his or her role in the Lawson kickback arrangement.

Neil: We go to the records and hope that we find them.

Alex: Yeah. Or a miracle happens.

I don't know what you're hoping to prove with this, Olivia.

Olivia: I'm looking for answers.

You act like you have some authority over me.

Olivia: We both know I don't. I ran into a patient of yours, Raul. It seems you're erring on the side of caution.

What are you getting at?

Olivia: He told me of all the tests you're doing.

Establishing baseline values?

Olivia: Expense I have tests.

He has insurance.

Olivia: Maybe you're compensating for the original oversight. That's not what raised the red flag for me.

What did?

Olivia: I wonder if there's a connection between Raul and your anger for the way Lawson medicals been treating you.

For heaven sake, what possible connection?

Olivia: You said earlier you were going to say something but backed off. You were afraid of opening up a Pandora's box.

You're reading things into what I said, putting your spin on them.

Olivia: I won't drop this. A young man almost lost his life because of your action or lack of action. You will tell me what's going on with Lawson medical being a doctor doesn't matter to you anymore.

Jack: I don't know what you want me to say.

Ashley: I want to know what's going on.

Jack: What makes you think I know anything.

Ashley: You said Colleen going home now and coming back for a longer visit.

Jack: All right. I talked to Traci. She asked me not to say anything.

Ashley: I'd like to reach out to her. I can't do that.

Traci: Hey, you two. I hope I'm not interrupting anything.

Ashley: Would it matter if you were?

Jack: Ash.

I heard there was a family dinner last night. Sorry I missed it. I hope there's another one before Traci leaves.

Ashley: Nothing's really over

Nikki: I'm looking for Nicholas or Sharon. Are they around?

Victoria: No, they're not.

Nikki: I wanted to find out about the coffee house expansion.

Victoria: What's the latest?

Nikki: He's changed his mind.

Victoria: I thought expansion was his top priority?

Nikki: Nicholas wants to spend time with Sharon.

Victoria: Because of what happened with Matt Clark.

Nikki: He asked your father to speak to her.

Victoria: And tell her what?

Nikki: That there are important matters at Newman, which happens to be true. Last I heard, she's not going for it.

Victoria: When it has to go to do with family, dad has a way of finding a way to get it. Is something wrong?

Nikki: No, honey. When I think of what your father is doing for Nicholas, it reminds me how united we all were until I decided to help Larry Warton.

Victoria: Are you upset about what's going on between the two of you?

Nikki: Don't mention anything to your brother. He feels the tension and I don't want him to feel worse. What's done is done.

Victoria: I have to wonder if everything was worth it, given the ramifications.

Nikki: It's just frustrating. Your father acts like I went against his wishes on purpose. Then again he might be right about Larry Warton. Who knows. If I had to do it again, I don't know.

Victoria: Listen, I have to run. If I hear anything about Nicholas and Sharon, I'll give you a call.

Nikki: I'll just have a cappuccino to go please.

Colleen: I can't believe I'm meeting you. This is so cool.

Raul: For me too.

Colleen: I saw you a lot on the website.

Raul: Billy mentioned a lot about you.

Colleen: Why would he talk about me?

Raul: Because he cares a lot about you. I'm dying to know his secrets.

Traci: I don't want to hear this. Can I get a picture?

Colleen: Oh, mom.

Raul: Yes, absolutely.

Traci: Here we go. That's cute. Ready. One, two... Thank you. I'll be back.

Colleen: What's it like being one of the glow by jabot kids?

Raul: It's a lot of fun except last year. The girls got a crazy idea to put makeup all over me. Not too excited to have that thing posted all over the website.

Is that what you think, I'd turn my back on my profession?

Olivia: I don't know. Have you?

I first got into medicine because I wanted to heal people. But instead, now I'm the one who's sick. Olivia, you have no idea what it's like watching your dreams slip away knowing there's not a damn thing you can do about it because you're in too deep.

Olivia: You're just going to walllow -- wallow in self-pity? You can turn things around. It's not too late.

It started the day a rep from Lawson showed up. My first child was on the way. I was choking in debt. My practice was barely off the ground. Looking back, I thought somehow if they knew my situation. Pegged me for an easy target. Either way, this guy came into my office, looked me right in the eye and told me he had a solution to all of my problems. That's when this whole sickening mess began.

Jack: Wow. Wow. Now that was a kiss.

Phyllis: I had to make up for lost time. You were up and out early this morning. We didn't get to smooch or talk.

Jack: It's the smooching part I miss the most.

Phyllis: Yeah. That's enough. We have time for that later. Listen, tell me about this Abbott dinner. How was it? Was it fun?

Jack: It meant the world to my old man. I know that.

Phyllis: Great. You know, you have no idea how much I wanted to be there, Jack. Please tell me there's going to be another one before Traci leaves.

Jack: This is very important to you, isn't it?

Phyllis: Yeah, it is. I'm determined to make a good impression on this Abbott clan if it kills me. Oh, my God, listen to me. I sound like one of those women who's trying to get her boyfriend's family approval. I hated them. I thought they were boring. Now I've turned into one of them. What have you done to me?

Jack: I'm at a total loss. I have a suggestion. Until we figure out what I've done to you, why don't we do what we do best.

Victoria: Hi. I was about to come see you.

Victor: I bet you were, to tell me about the preliminary numbers for this quarter.

Victoria: Yeah, right.

Victor: I'm very happy about them.

Victoria: We have to hit the competition hard with the glow by jabot house cranking up any day.

Victor: You're a good businesswoman.

Victoria: I ran into mom. She told me about the news on the Nicholas and Sharon front. Is there any news on that front?

Victor: Sharon has agreed to delay the expansion of the coffee house.

Victoria: That's a relief.

Victor: Your brother is concerned that Sharon will find out she's the reason he wants to stay close to home.

Victoria: You won't hear that from me. You should be -- you should call mom. She's up set this hasn't been resolved.

Victor: If you think she wants to know, why don't you call her.

Brad: You didn't find it.

I went to the mail room. I looked everywhere. The letter is not there.

Brad: It couldn't have disappeared.

I don't know what happened.

Brad: I cannot convey how important this piece of mail is. It has to be signed by two board members and sent out tonight or the deal I have been working on for weeks can go belly-up.

Larry: Is this what you're looking for?

Brad: How did you get this?

Larry: Julie and I had an accident. I bumped into her. I didn't see this until she left. If I knew it was a big deal, I would have brought it up pronto.

Brad: If you stumble on a piece of mail please take it directly to the mail room. It is their job to deliver it, not yours. Are we clear?

Larry: Yeah, real clear.

Brad: I hope so when mistakes involving time sensitive materials are involved, there can be disastrous results.

Larry: Okay, man, I hear you. This is the last piece of frigging mail I will ever touch.

Nikki: Excuse me, what's going on here? I can't believe you have to be told this, after all the trouble people have gone through on your behalf?! You don't speak to people like this in this office.

Larry: Look, Miss Newman -- I'll be getting back to work.

Olivia: Your secretary wasn't at her desk.

Neil: Olivia, this is a surprise.

Olivia: I need to talk to you. It's important.

Alex: I'll leave.

Olivia: No, stay. You both need to hear this.

Jack: Yeah. Get back to me as soon as you can. All right. Okay. What's going through that beautiful head of yours?

Phyllis: I was thinking about how Traci sees me.

Jack: What do you mean?

Phyllis: Traci and I were married to the same man.

Jack: You're worried your checkered past is coming back to haunt you?

Phyllis: She and Danny parted on good terms and we did not.

Jack: Ashley would not deliberately trash you to Traci, neither would my father. Even if you're not their favorite person yet.

Phyllis: I hope you're right. I want her to know me. Without all that bad karma weighing everything down.

Jack: Listen to me. Traci will come around. One way or the other.

Phyllis: When is she leaving town?

Jack: Not sure.

Phyllis: Something wrong?

Jack: No.

Phyllis: All right. I have a good idea. Why don't we not wait for the next family shindig. Why don't you call her and the three of us could have dinner tonight.

Jack: I don't think that's a good idea.

Phyllis: You afraid I'll go overboard trying to win her over?

Jack: No, that's not it at all.

Phyllis: Then what is it? I think I know why you're so protective of your little sister.

Raul: I'm mobbed everywhere.

Colleen: I can't believe it happened.

Raul: Being in the public eye have its perks.

Colleen: My friends think you're the coolest. You're okay now, right?

Raul: Yeah. The diabetes is under control. I'm a lucky guy.

Colleen: And a brave one too.

Raul: What happened?

Colleen: Her name is Clair. She realized she had a lot of symptoms. She went out to and found out she had diabetes and got treatment before it got out of hand.

Raul: Thank you for telling me that.

Colleen: You're definitely one of the good guys, Raul. But you probably hear that all the time.

Ashley: Looks like Colleen is having a time of her life. It's not that surprising though, is it? Raul is pretty darn cute.

Traci: It's the happiest I've seen my daughter since we've arrived. I wish she would relax.

Ashley: Wanting her to relax?

Traci: That's part of it.

Ashley: But not all of it? It's not so much about Colleen but you needing to be away from new York and Steve.

Traci: You came up with this all on your own, did you?

Ashley: Traci, am I wrong?

Traci: I will not discuss this, not with you, not with anyone.

Alex: You got Roland Kim rough (can't make this out) to talk to you?

Olivia: He had good reason to be nervous around you.

Neil: What do you mean?

Olivia: I forced him to open up. I learned Lawson medical gives its doctors financial incentive not to run a certain amount of expense I have tests.

Alex: That's a ream expectation --

Olivia: The fact a doctor gets a monthly bonus check not to exceed their limit.

Neil: How do they justify the checks?

Olivia: They bill Lawson for a consultation or protocol.

Alex: The check is for keeping costs down.

Neil: Alex, Alex, this is the smoking gun we're looking for.

Alex: It could be if Roland Kim rough is (can't make this out) willing to come forward.

Neil: What do you think? Will he come forward?

Olivia: I doubt it. I the man's scared to death.

Neil: What if we explain everything that's at stake.

Olivia: I doubt that makes a difference.

Alex: If we can get this man to say something to make Lawson cough up the documents they have been hiding from us, we have to pursue this. We have to get through to Roland Kim rough (can't make this out) somehow, some way.

Larry: I can't believe what I did. I could kick myself for mouthing off to Brad Carlton. He's a major big wig around here. What if I blew it? What if I messed myself up?

Larry, I think you're making more out of this than you need to. You shouldn't have reacted the way you did. You left before things got out of hand.

Larry: Now what do I do?

You go back to Carlton and swear it won't happen again.

Larry: That's it. Tell them I'm sorry and everything is okay?

This is the woman that got you out in the first place. Yes, I'm sure she's upset at the moment. I'm sure she's also pulling for you. Have some faith, Larry.

Larry: You're right, man. I'm going to straighten this thing out right now. Leo, thanks a lot, man. I really appreciate your help, okay? See ya.

Nikki: All right. Now what happens? You and I sign this?

Brad: Send it back overnight. Once he has it in his hot little hands, the deal is official.

Nikki: You might want to consider walking that down to the mail room itself considering you never know whose hands it will fall into.

Brad: You must be referring to Larry Warton.

Nikki: Where he was two weeks ago and he dares come in here and blows up at you? What are you saying I'm overreacting?

Brad: I had the situation under control.

Nikki: It didn't seem like this.

Brad: I am certainly not a Larry Warton fan. You wanted him here. So now he's here. I'm cutting him some slack while he learns the ropes, okay?

Nikki: I'm wrong for reprimanding him.

Brad: I was in the middle of that but --

Nikki: I have a lot invested in Mr. Warton. I will speak to him any damn way I please.

Brad: Why are you getting defense I have? You have some regrets about hiring him, aren't you?

Nikki: What if I am?

Brad: Why, Nikki? From what I can see he's towing the line. He made a mistake. Most people do when they come on-board.

Nikki: Larry Warton isn't most people.

Brad: What does that mean? Do you know something that I don't know?

Nikki: Not about his work, no.

Brad: What is it? Are you suffering some familial repercussions?

Brad: I'm talking about Victor.

Nikki: I am having doubts about what I did especially in light of what it cost me. Victor and I were becoming closer when the family was in crisis.

Brad: Now he's very upset, isn't he.

Nikki: Predictably so. It's fate. If it weren't Larry Warton, it would be something else coming between us. Now I'm even questioning that.

Brad: Why?

Nikki: Because, Brad, at the end of the day, don't we really create our own fate?

Brad: You know what I'm hearing? That in spite of yourself, you're still hoping for some way to reconnect with Victor.

Victoria: It saddens me when there's tension between you and mom.

Victor: I know, sweetheart. Your mother said she was sorry she caused another riff between us.

Victoria: She should be. I suppose it's a positive sign that the two of you are talking.

Victor: Don't read too much into that.

Victoria: You know me. I always hope that things might work out between you and mom.

Victor: I know, sweetheart. Sometimes it saddens me, you know. This wonderful family, there's always this conflict, isn't there? It saddens me sometimes. Anyway, your mother had a peculiar idea that she and I could become friends. Just friends.

Traci: Ashley, my fault. I shouldn't have snapped at you. I told our brother not to say anything.

Ashley: He didn't. I know you. I know something is not right between you and your husband.

Traci: I have been through this with Jack. I don't know if there's anything more to say.

Ashley: Is he having an affair? Sorry.

Traci: I don't want to get into this.

Ashley: You shouldn't keep it bottled up inside.

Traci: Didn't you hear what I said?

Ashley: I heard what you said. I know you came home for a reason to see your family, because you want our support. I'm here for you, Traci. You don't have to go through this alone. You don't have to.

Olivia: If you push Roland Kim rough (can't make this out), he will feel threatened.

Neil: He may tip off Lawson medical.

Alex: And they will destroy the documents we need. Right now Lawson thinks they have us stymies (can't make this out) .

Neil: That's what we want them thinking as long as possible.

Olivia: I don't know what you two have in mind but on my way over here, something occurred to me.

Neil: What?

Olivia: Suppose a doctor who wanted the truth to come out approached Lawson? Find out they become a contract provider and waited, waited for them to pitch how to earn bonuses and got it on record somehow.

Alex: That would be a huge nail in Lawson's could have fin (can't make this out).

Neil: Who are we talking about?

Olivia: Me.

Alex: You?

Neil: You?

Olivia: Unless you know another doctor who could do it.

Neil: Liv, are you sure you want to do this?

Olivia: When I think of what Lawson medical is doing, it makes me ill. I would do anything to help.

Neil: Alex, can we do this legally?

Alex: That's what we'll have to figure out how we can do this while staying within the law. Yes, it is possible.

Neil: Olivia, I --thank you. I don't know what he is to say other than thank you.

Olivia: I guess I'm not the hard hearted bitch that some people think I am.

Alex: That remark was meant for me. It was totally unnecessary.

Olivia: I saw the astonished look on your face when I offered. Did you think your opinion of me would stop me from doing what's right?

Alex: Well, you caught me by surprise. But I'm impressed by your decision to help, and I'm very grateful.

Olivia: You know what? Now that I think about it, my opinion of ewe- -of you did influence me. I figured if help you, the case will wrap up sooner, and your work in Genoa city will be finished sooner, and you'll be on your way.

Jack: All right. What is it you think you know?

Phyllis: Well, I think Traci's going through something. Come on, Jack, you can tell me. I won't say anything. You want to keep me in the dark? I thought you trusted me.

Jack: All right, yeah. I'll tell you. You have to promise me though not a word of this to anyone.

Phyllis: I won't, I promise.

Jack: It's their marriage. They're having problems.

Phyllis: Oh. It wasn't just a visit home to the folks.

Jack: No. She came home for some support.

Phyllis: Sorry to hear that. Listen, I can be sympathetic. It'll give me some experience.

Jack: He's a decent guy. They had a strong marriage for a long time. But -- oh, God. My heart breaks when I see Traci. Never mind Colleen. This always hits the kids the hardest.

Phyllis: Colleen doesn't know?

Jack: Not yet. Believe me when she finds out, she'll be devastated.

Traci: Do you really mean this, Ashley?

Ashley: Of course I mean it. You're my sister, Traci. I love you.

Traci: Well, I am not going to fall apart.

Ashley: You have to talk to somebody.

Traci: I don't know what that will change discussing the details.

Ashley: You don't know. It might change everything. Is this the first time Steve has been unfaithful?

Traci: I don't know. I wouldn't have thought he -- I just don't know. He's not the man I thought he was.

Ashley: I get a feeling you haven't spoken to Steve much about this.

Traci: My God, no. I can't be in the same room.

Ashley: Colleen know? Traci?

Traci: No. She idolizes Steve. How could he betray his beautiful daughter and me like that?

Victoria: You and mom just friends. That's good. I wonder where she came up with that one.

Victor: I have no idea.

Victoria: You know, I don't believe for a second that things will last this way between you two.

Victor: You don't think so? Your mother has always found a way to get to me, hasn't she?

Victoria: Well, I don't know about that. But some friends can be irritating and still be friends.

Victor: With her and me, emotions always run too high, either negative or positive.

Victoria: You admit there are strong emotions. I guess the question is what are you going to do about it?

Victor: I wish I knew.

Brad: I'm right, aren't I? You're looking for a way to reconnect with Victor even though things seem pretty bleak at the moment. Nikki, look, the situation is not etched in stone. If you want to find a way to bridge the gap you created with Victor, you can do that. It's not too late.

Nikki: Are you saying there's time to reconsider my decision?

Brad: You went out of your way to help Larry Warton without thinking of the repercussions. Rescind the job. You have to do what's right for you.

Nikki: I can see the point. I can do something about this. It is in my hands.
