Sharon: Nicholas, you have to run. There is no other choice.

Nicholas: I did not do this. I did not kill Matt Clark.

Sharon: I know that. I believe you now.

Nicholas: You didn't at first. It took a lot of convincing.

Sharon: If it was that hard to convince me, then how are you going to get the police to believe you?

Nicholas: I know this sounds bad, it does. Leaving the country is not the solution here.

Sharon: Honey, I thought it would be turning our life upside-down forever, but what other choice do we have?

Nicholas: Maybe Richards didn't jump to the con -- conclusion I did this. They know everything Matt did to me in the past. Maybe it doesn't sound so crazy that he killed himself to set me up, especially since he was going to die anyway.

Sharon: I wish the D.A. could see it that way.

Nicholas: I guess it is a lot for them to swallow.

Excuse me, looking for a man and a woman, in their 20's. The man is wanted in required to death of a patient.

Are you talking about murder?

Possibly.

John: So, Paul, have you come up with anything?

Paul: Carr cleaned his room. There wasn't anything incriminating.

John: I'm not surprised.

Paul: So Nick's out on bail.

John: For now anyway.

Paul: Something going on?

John: When I was at the hospital, Nick showed up there with Victor.

Paul: Why?

John: Nick is hell-bent on getting Matt Clark to tell the truth.

Paul: That sounds like a volatile situation.

John: That's my concern. The D.A. was questioning him at the time. Let's hope he got a confession out of the guy.

Paul: That's not very likely. We can always help, I suppose.

John: Victor, I take it there was no progress with Matt Clark?

Paul: What is it? What's going on?

Victor: Matt Clark is dead and my son is under suspicion of murder.

Nikki: So Mackenzie is doing better now that Raul's turned the corner.

Katherine: I don't know what she would have done if something happened to him. Well, abnormal as things sound to you, Jill's still around. Do you know this young man, a very good looking sight here? He works at Jabot. He's connected with the Internet.

Nikki: Yeah, that's Sean. How do you know him?

Katherine: He was over to dinner with Jill.

Nikki: Really. A business dinner?

Katherine: That's not the impression I got.

Nikki: No kidding. Well, apparently I was not imagining things.

Katherine: What do you mean?

Nikki: The other day I said I picked up vibes between those two, but I just missed them. They're just an odd duo.

Katherine: That's very true. He's very personable. He seems very well bred. Jill, on the other hand is -- please don't get me started on her.

Nikki: I know. You think this could be serious?

Katherine: With Jill? Who knows for heaven's sake? They do look close.

Nikki: The idea of falling for that guy to say he's not even interested in her. I guess stranger things have happened.

Katherine: Are you really interested in this?

Nikki: No, no, not really. It's just Jill has been giving Jack a very hard time about his love life lately. So I think he'll find this tidbit very interesting.

Phyllis: Do you care to repeat to me what you were just telling Jack?

Jill: I would be glad to. Phyllis, you don't scare me.

Phyllis: Then you're a bigger fool than I thought.

Jill: Dignity has not been a strong suit. She doesn't know the meaning of the word.

Jack: You don't know when to keep your mouth shut.

Jill: I'm trembling.

Phyllis: You throw around these disparaging remarks and then you go away. Maybe other people let you to that. You have no idea what I am capable of when I'm sufficiently agitated.

Malcolm: I appreciate you making time for me. I know you're a busy man.

Neil: Then get on with it.

Malcolm: All right. I’ve been to see my lawyer about the situation with Nate.

Neil: What lawyer is that? Miss Perez?

Malcolm: No, Neil. This isn't Alex's territory.

Neil: I'm sure it didn't keep her from giving her opinion.

Malcolm: Hey, hey, back up. I'm not here to talk about Alex. I'm here to talk about my son, all right?

Sharon: They're talking about murder already.

Nicholas: Possibly.

Sharon: Then you know where they're headed.

Nicholas: The last thing to do is panic. Let's go somewhere and think this through. Come on.

Mamie: Nate, are you ready for your sleepover?

Nate: Yep.

Mamie: You remember to pack your toothbrush?

Nate: Yep.

Mamie: Toothpaste?

Nate: Yep.

Mamie: PJs?

Nate: Yep.

Mamie: Curlers?

Nate: Yep. Curlers?!

Mamie: I was trying to find out if you were paying attention. Olivia, what in the world. I thought you had to work late.

Olivia: I got someone to cover for me so I could come home and say good night to my son before he left.

Mamie: But honey, I thought you said --

Olivia: He shooed me out.

Ashley: Hey, guys. I thought we'd stop for a short visit, unless it's a bad time.

Jill: Phyllis, you think your juvenile threats of violence will work with me? I don't scare that easily.

Phyllis: Really, don't you?

Jill: You want me to fight you? I'm ready.

Jack: Jack Abbott.

Phyllis: You are making a mistake if you think I'm --

Jill: Whatever you can dish out, I can take.

Phyllis: You know, Jack puts up with you because he's stuck with you and he's a gentleman.

Jill: And you're no lady.

Phyllis: I'm a woman that can take care of herself. Shut that mouth of yours or buy a muzzle that's big enough. You will cross someone you wished you hadn't and you will be in for more than a cat fight. Do you understand me?

Jill: I understand I don't have time for your garbage. I have work to do. Say hello to Roger, Jack.

Katherine: I want to hear more about Nicholas. He was released on bail today?

Nikki: Which means he could walk through that door any minute.

Katherine: And you will put your arms around him and tell him how wonderful it is to have him home.

Nikki: Am I ever. You and Mackenzie and Brock are coming to dinner, are you?

[Phone ringing] Hello? Victor, hi. Glad you called. Katherine's here, we're talking -- what? Oh, my God.

Cody: It's true. You're out on bail. Congratulations, man. I'm happy for you two. What's wrong?

Nicholas: We can't get into it right now.

Sharon: It's complicated.

Cody: I don't understand.

Nicholas: We don't have time to explain. Keep everyone out of here for now. Sharon and I have to talk alone.

Cody: I'll make sure you're not disturbed.

Nicholas: Sharon and I have to talk so if someone comes looking for us give us a heads-up but don't tell them we're here. I'm serious, man.

Sharon: What are we going to do? We're running out of time.

Nicholas: We have to think this through otherwise it could get a whole lot worse.

Sharon: I don't see -- I don't see how it could get worse. I don't see how this monster could kill himself to get at you beyond the grave.

Ryan: Maybe I should go straight to Memorial and wait for more news from Memorial.

Victoria: She's still unconscious. There's nothing you can do.

Ryan: The longer Tricia remains unconscious, the worse her prognosis becomes. I'm afraid for her, Vicki.

Victoria: I wish there was something I could do for you.

Ryan: There is.

Victoria: What?

Ryan: Let's talk about work or the weather, I don't care. Anything to keep my mind off of this.

Victoria: There's something I want to get off my chest. Phyllis and Jack living together.

Ryan: You're still upset about that?

Victoria: The fact that she lives with the enemy makes my blood boil. This so-called inside information she's been feeding us, she's going to be working for the other side and playing us for fools even as we speak.

Nikki: So that was it. Matt Clark died when Nicholas was in his room and the D.A. is looking for answers.

Katherine: But Nicholas is nowhere to be found.

Nikki: I know my son. He's not going to flee. He's probably somewhere alone getting his thoughts together.

Katherine: I'm sure of that. I did not mean to imply otherwise.

Nikki: I know. I'm sorry. I shouldn't be lashing out at you. I'm upset.

Katherine: What about the children? Maybe Sharon and Nicholas tried to get in touch with them.

Nikki: I'll call the sitter.

Katherine: I'll handle this.

Nikki: Don't make a big deal out of this.

Katherine: I understand. I understand. I want you to try and stay calm. I promise you we are going to hear from Nicholas and Sharon very soon.

Nikki: I know. I know. That's what Victor said too.

Victor: I want to know what it would take to get through to the damn D.A. The guard admitted he did not see Nicholas lay a hand on Matt Clark. That's very significant. My son wouldn't do that. Obviously, it has to be another explanation. The D.A. refuses to accept that.

John: Did Richards give any indication what he might do?

Victor: He went on and on with Nicholas leaving the hospital without telling anyone.

John: That's because at this point he could be considered a fugitive.

Paul: I assume you want me to start looking for Nicholas immediately?

Victor: I want you to do that. I am absolutely certain my son did not do this.

John: Why hasn't he contacted you since he left the hospital?

Victor: I can only assume he's very upset right now, talking to his wife. I assure you, he will contact me.

Sharon: You're wondering if we should get your father involved, aren't you?

Nicholas: You don't think we should?

Sharon: If he agrees we should leave the country, he could be in trouble for being an accessory. But if he doesn't, he could get you to change your mind.

Nicholas: He'll probably succeed too.

Sharon: Listen, it's your decision, Nick. This is our decision. It feels so good to hold you again. When I heard you were out on bail, I knew how you would react to seeing this bruise on my face. But I just -- I wasn't thinking clearly. I just needed to hold you again. And now the thought of you being put behind bars. Anything would be better than that, Nicholas, anything.

Neil: All right, Malcolm, tell me about your lawyer.

Malcolm: Her name is Holly Baxter. She specializes in family law.

Neil: Who recommended her?

Malcolm: You think I looked her up in the Yellow Pages?

Neil: What did Ms. Baxter say?

Malcolm: Confirmed everything you wanted confirmed. It could help my case so much, Nate may not need to be involved in any way.

Neil: Did she guarantee it?

Malcolm: No, she didn't -- Neil, you want to talk to her yourself? Here's her number.

Neil: When you presented your case, did you tell the attorney the full story or did you paint a sympathetic picture of yourself?

Malcolm: Of course I told her the whole story.

Neil: Including Callie, what happened when the thugs showed up? Liv will use that against you. She'll contend you put her son in danger.

Malcolm: Enough, man. This may be hard for you to believe but I am not an idiot. Look, man, I realize holding back gets me nowhere. I am not about to let Mamie or you testify on my behalf just to get shot down.

Neil: Did I say I would? There's no doubt in my mind this will get down and dirty.

Malcolm: You talked to Olivia? You told her what I'm about to do? Neil, why the hell would you do that?!

Ashley: He is so good for her.

Olivia: She is so good for him. I haven't seen him smile like that in a long time.

Ashley: Things aren't better with Nate?

Olivia: Can we talk for a minute? Aunt Mamie, I really need to talk to you and Ashley about the situation with Nate.

Mamie: You should do that alone. I wouldn't want Abby and Nate to overhear so I'll take you and -- Nate and Abby into the bedroom.

Olivia: Okay. Thanks. I keep telling myself he needs more time.

Ashley: It's hard to be patient when your son has pulled away.

Olivia: There's so much he needs to understand. He couldn't possibly understand.

Ashley: This is obviously very hard on you.

Olivia: I know he misses Malcolm. I thought if Neil started coming around, maybe that would help. I feel like some of the barriers have come down. He thinks I should have Malcolm in Nate's life and I'm making a huge mistake keeping them apart.

Ashley: You still sure you're doing the same thing?

Olivia: I'm tired, tired of everyone questioning my decision. I'm tired of being put on the defensive.

Ashley: That's not what I'm doing.

Olivia: He's getting Bs instead of As.

Ashley: You don't think there’s any connection between his grades falling off and him not seeing his father?

Olivia: I need your support.

Ashley: You have my support to a point. No amount of time with Mamie or Neil is going to take the place of what he's missing from his father, Liv. If you think so, you're kidding yourself in a very big way.

Phyllis: Hey. Hey, lover, aren't you going to congratulate me for putting the fear of God in Jill?

Jack: Some of the things you said scared yours truly.

Phyllis: Stop it. I don't want to talk about Jill anymore please. Especially since I'm in such a good mood, I have some good news.

Jack: What's that?

Phyllis: I told Victoria and Ryan about our relationship, that I moved in with you this morning.

Jack: You what?

Phyllis: I told them. I thought it was important for several reasons, the least of which is that it didn't give any leverage to Jill.

Jack: How did Victoria react?

Phyllis: Good, all things considered. It's true what they say about timing.

Jack: Meaning what?

Phyllis: Meaning she had so many things on her mind, she didn't flip out as bad as she usually would have.

Jack: I can't help but thinking you misjudged the situation.

Phyllis: If I misjudged the situation, I'll take the flak. Listen to me, aren't you relieved we don't have to be low profile anymore?

Sean: Jill, check it out. Do you miss it?

Jill: Are you kidding? Everyday I was getting closer to telling you it had to go.

Sean: It's gone now.

Jill: Thank you so much.

Sean: This is the stuff I wanted you to look at. This is the data you asked for. Take a gander. Is everything okay?

Jill: Just peachy. Sean, do you ever get tired of people telling you how good you are at everything?

Sean: Smoke and mirrors.

Jill: You're flip, aren't you?

Sean: If you want me to be serious I'll be serious. There are things I'm good at, but that's not the whole picture.

Jill: Not everything is as good as it seems.

Sean: Some things are as good as they seem. You think I'm blowing hot air your way or something?

Jill: Where would you get an idea like that?

Sean: You know, you have a lot of intriguing qualities, not the least of which is your ability to see through facades. I must say, you are a woman who is not easily charmed.

Jill: Where is this coming from? You know something? You almost sound insecure here, like maybe you're afraid I'm not buying your act.

Sean: Is that what you think it is? You think I'm putting on some big act for you?

Jill: I honestly don't know. You tell me, Sean. Are you?

Sharon: We should leave before dark.

Nicholas: Sharon.

Sharon: We can't take either of our cars because the police will know our license plates. We will have to rent a car.

Nicholas: Baby, they can trace a rental.

Sharon: You're right. Cody has a car. You know how loyal he is.

Nicholas: Whoa. Listen to yourself for one second. We can't ask Cody to get involved in this. We would be asking him to break the law. We don't even know if I'm going to be convicted. Think about what we're talking about here, condemning ourselves to live our lives on the run forever.

Sharon: You have no idea what Cassie and Noah have been going through. How much they miss you.

Nicholas: Baby, I realize --

Sharon: Besides you can't be sure you won't be convicted. As horrible as it would be, it would be worse to see you be put behind bars for a murder you didn't even commit. I don't think our kids could survive it. Cassie and Noah can't grow up without their dad. Nicholas, we have to stick together. We have to stick together for their sake. No matter what kind of price we have to pay.

Neil: Malcolm, hold on.

Malcolm: I can't believe this. You're going to up and tell Olivia I'm going for visitation? Do you realize what you've done?

Neil: What are you talking about?

Malcolm: If I lay this out to Olivia the right way --

Neil: She has no idea what you're planning. I didn't say a damn word to her!

Malcolm: I'm sorry, all right? I'm sorry I just jumped down your throat. Neil, I'm going to be straight with you here. I'm picking up vibes from you, man, that maybe deep down you don't want to go to bat with me in court. Neil, if that's true, I need to know right now. I can't afford any surprises. You understand me?

Neil: I believe that little boy needs his father, and I will testify if necessary in court. You should know no matter how you tell Olivia this information, she's not going to like it.

Malcolm: I'm not saying Olivia is going to like this. Once she sees my ducks are in a row and I do have a legal leg to stand on, I hope she realizes that letting me see Nate is best for everybody.

Neil: What if she doesn't? What then?

Malcolm: Then my lawyer files suit tomorrow.

Olivia: It was great, Nate, seeing Abby again, wasn't it? I was thinking that Abby has gotten so big, too big for a lot of the toys we bought her. I think we should make a trip to the toy store and buy her grown-up ones.

Nate: I don't know.

Olivia: You want to turn down a trip to the toy store?

Nate: Maybe Aunt Mamie and I could go next time we do something, right?

Mamie: We'll see about that.

Nate: Is it time to go?

Mamie: To take you to Sam's house.

Nate: I don't want to be late.

Olivia: Have a good time. I love you.

Nate: Bye.

Mamie: Good night, Olivia.

Ryan: So you think Phyllis is some double agent feeding us this information?

Victoria: I wouldn't put it past her, would you?

Ryan: Let's say you're right about this. All we have to do is ignore any hot info she tried to put past us.

Victoria: She's in a perfect position to leak it to her new roomy.

Ryan: If she does something like that, we could nail her.

Victoria: Maybe her plans have changed? If she goes down that way she'll be fired and be hired at Jabot.

Ryan: You're painting an outlandish picture here.

Victoria: You can't be outlandish enough or careful enough with Phyllis Summers. Especially given her new living circumstances. I plan to hang a hammer over her head. That way she won't dare cross over.

Sean: You want me to bear my soul so you see the real Sean Bridges, huh?

Jill: Would that be so difficult?

Sean: I'm anxious to see what you'll find when you see the real me. Not that I'm an axe murder or anything like that. I do have my flaws and insecurities like anybody else. The fact is I don't want you to be disappointed.

Jill: Do you flat out want to be idolized?

Sean: You know, actually there have been a lot of women in my life that let me slide by on pure charm alone and not dig any deeper. You, Jill, won't let me get away with that forever. That concerns me.

Jill: Don't you know that's how everybody feels when they're getting to know somebody?

Sean: Yeah, I realize that. I'm willing to take a risk, if you are.

Jill: Yeah, I am.

Sean: Well good. I was hoping you would say that.

Jill: What if I said no?

Sean: Well, let's say I was in a position to do some serious persuading. Starting with this.

Katherine:  Any luck?

Nikki: They haven't seen any sign of Nicholas and Sharon. What about you?

Katherine: I phoned down there and there's no answer.

Nikki: Lisa is supposed to be down there. Maybe Nicholas and Sharon called and asked to meet them where they are.

Cassie: Have you heard from my mom and dad yet?

Nikki: I couldn't keep them away.

Katherine: We're all anxious to see Nick and Sharon.

Noah: Where's Daddy?

Katherine: I'll tell you. I really think your mom and dad stopped off somewhere first to celebrate your father getting out of jail.

Noah: Let's go and meet them.

Cassie: I think they want a little private time.

Katherine: Yes. That's what we think too. About you, we are so glad that you did stop by, because we are planning a very special, very special dinner for your father when he comes home. There's one thing that's missing. We need this big banner, a homecoming banner with lots of bright colors and -- something to pep it up. What would you think?

Noah: With balloons and streamers?

Katherine: Yes, of course. Of course. Shall we? All right, everybody, let's do it. All right, I'm coming. What would be the first color you think of? Blue, all right.

Jack: Please don't start putting words in my mouth. I want you to know this is the second time we had a talk we have given lip service to and you've gone off and done your own thing. I love spontaneity. It's getting a little one-sided.

Phyllis: Okay. You're right, you're right. I do act impulsively at times. I'll try to rein myself in. I'm so in love, I want to shout from the rooftops how in love I am with you. Sexy, about dinner tonight?

Jack: What did you have in mind? What are you doing?

Phyllis: I am calling Miss Martinez --

Jack: I think we made enough waves for one day. What do you say you and I go out for a lovely, romantic dinner together?

Phyllis: All right. You want to be discreet. It's not really your style.

Jack: My style is usually fast and loose. With you, I'm finding somehow I'm the voice of reason.

Phyllis: Not very fun, is it?

Jack: It's all right.

Phyllis: Okay. We'll have it your way. I'll go out to dinner with you, but I am looking forward to breakfast tomorrow. I hear the Abbott breakfasts are legendary.

Jack: Where do you hear that?

Phyllis: Think of everybody who's sat at that table. Brad, Cole, Diane, Jill. Maybe when I said -- maybe later we can all have a reunion.

Jack: Not on your life. I want to make sure you hear me. You had your say with her. Time to back off now.

Phyllis: I would love to do that if I felt my point got in forcefully. Listen to me. She's been very nasty about our relationship. Maybe I'll start a pre-emptive strike.

Jack: No, no. I have enough reason to be upset with her as you do. Where Jill is concerned, I have my own leverage.

Phyllis: You have something on Jill?

Jack: Let's just say I too can be resourceful. I want to make sure you're hearing me on this, loud and clear. I want you to back off where Jill is concerned.

Phyllis: Okay. I'm all right. I hear you. Loud and clear.

[Doorbell sounding]

Olivia: What are you doing here?

Malcolm: We need to talk.

Olivia: About what?

Malcolm: What he is, Olivia. Our son.

John: Victor, under normal circumstances, there's no question Nicholas would consider the consequences of running. He just spent weeks in jail for something he didn't do. He just found out that Sharon was brutalized by that monster. Matt Clark was insidiously clever. He has a history of successfully goading Nicholas.

Victor: What exactly are you saying?

John: As your son's attorney, we have to consider the possibility when Nicholas was alone in that room, the pressure got too great – [cell phone ringing] Excuse me.

Victor: Do you agree with that assessment?

Paul: I think Nicholas has to tell us exactly what happened in Matt Clark's hospital room.

John: That was the D.A. He wanted us to know if Nicholas is not in his office within an hour, he's going to issue an arrest warrant and charge him with murder.
